terfs when a study shows literally anything positive about trans people/transitioning: 'hm i think this requires some fact-checking. Were those researchers REALLY unbiased? Because if they were biased this doesn't count and if they weren't knowingly biased they probably were unconsciously biased, woke media affects so much these days. Have there been any other studies on this? Because if there haven't been this could be an outlier and if there have been and they all agree that's a bit odd, why aren't there any outliers, and if there have been and any disagree we really won't know the truth until we very thoroughly analyze them all, will we? Were there enough subjects for a good sample size? Did every single subject involved stay involved through the whole study because if they didn't we should be sure nothing shady was going on resulting in people dropping out. Are we 110% sure all the subjects were fully honest and at no point were embarrassed or afraid to admit they didn't love transitioning to the people in charge of their transition? Are we 110% sure none of the subjects were manipulated into thinking they were happy with their transition? In fact we should double-check what they think with their parents, because if the subjects and their parents disagree it's probably because they've been manipulated but their cis parents have not and are very unbiased. How many autistic subjects were there because if there weren't enough then this doesn't really study the overlap between autistic and trans and if there were too many then we just don't know enough about what causes that overlap to be sure this study really explains being trans and isn't just about being autistic. How many AFAB subjects were there because if there weren't enough this is just another example of prioritizing AMAB people and ignoring the different struggles of girls and women and if there were too many how do we know sexism didn't affect the results. Was the study double-blinded? We all know double-blinded is the most reliable so if this one wasn't that's a point against it even if the thesis literally physically could not be double-blinded. Look i'm not being transphobic, i want what's best for trans people! Really! But as a person who is not trans and therefore objective in a way they cannot possibly be, i just think we should only take into account Good Science here. You want to be following science and not being manipulated or experimented upon by something unscientific, right?'

terfs when they see a study of 45 subjects so old it predates modern criteria for gender dysphoria and basically uses 'idk her parents think she's too butch', run by a guy who practiced conversion therapy, 'confirmed' by a guy who treated the significant portion of subjects who didn't follow up as all desisting, definitely in the category of 'physically cannot double-blind this', completely contradicted by multiple other studies done on actual transgender subjects, but can be kinda cited as evidence against transitioning if you ignore everything else about it: 'oOOH SEE THIS IS WHAT WE'RE TALKIN BOUT. SCIENCE. Just good ol' unbiased thorough analysis. I see absolutely no reason to dig any deeper on this and if you think it's wrong you're the one being unscientific. It's really a shame you've been so thoroughly brainwashed by the trans agenda and can't even accept science when you see it. Maybe now that someone has finally uncovered this long-lost study from 1985, we can make some actual progress on the whole trans problem.'

It’s a beautiful summer day in Virginia. A warm day with a cool breeze running through the forest. Sunny with little clouds in the sky. The perfect day for a fishing picnic trip!

The three walked down the dirt trail to Will’s favorite fishing spot. Will and Hannibal walked along side each other with Will carrying Y/N piggy back style. Hannibal settled for just carrying the fishing rod and the picnic basket.

It’s been about two years now that they’ve had this beautiful bundle of joy in their lives. Will and Hannibal thought they had everything they could ever want in their lives, that’s until Y/N entered and changed everything.

The two Caregivers lives blossomed with their little one. Both of them being very opened minded and accepting to their little ones younger headspace. Both of them learning a lot about themselves with their little one.

They loved Y/N wholeheartedly. They brought such a fun and vibrant spirit to their world. Some days were spent playing imaginary games around Hannibal’s house, other days were spent running around outside with the dogs at Will’s house, other days like today were spent at the stream.

Will carried Y/N piggyback style through the woods pretending here and there to lose control and sway side to side causing Y/N to giggle. Y/N looked up through the trees and to the side, admiring the beautiful landscape around them. Occasionally they would point out different discoveries.

“Butterfly!!” Y/N yelled out, pointing at the blue colored creature sailing through the air.

“Wow! That’s a beautiful butterfly darling. Now tell me, what color is it?” Hannibal asked.

“Ummmm….blue?” Y/N asked a bit unsure.

“That’s right sweetheart! You are so smart!” Hannibal happily praised.

They had been teaching their little one different subjects here and there, recently the two were working on numbers and colors with Y/n. Anytime their little one gets anything right Will and Hannibal praise them to death.

“I got it right!! Did you hear?!” Y/N asked pulling on Will’s shirt.

“I did hear! I’m so proud of you sweetheart. You’re learning so much already. Soon you’ll know more than us.” Will praised.

Soon the three arrived at the stream. Despite the beautiful day the water was still rough as always. Hannibal started setting up their picnic while Will and Y/N went to the shoreline. He set them down and the two watched the water racing around the rocks.

Will could see the look in his littles eyes and right before they jumped into the rough water he grabbed their hand.

“Wow wow wow. It’s too rough for you honey. You can stick your feet in with me here but you can’t go into the water.” He explained.

“But whyyyyyyyy?”

Will smiled at his Little. “Because the water is too strong for a little baby like yourself.” He poked their tummy making them giggle. “It’s safer for you to stay on the blanket. Okay?”

Y/N just whined and looked down disappointed. “How come you can go in the water and I can’t?”

Will sighed and walked back with them to the now set up picnic blanket. “Because I’m used to the water and I’m a lot stronger. That’s why I’m the protector of the house.”

That happened to catch Hannibal’s ear who was sitting on the picnic blanket, “You’re the protector of the house?” He smirked.

Will rolled his eyes at Hannibal before looking back at Y/N, “We’re your protectors. That’s why you don’t have to worry about anything with us around.” He winked at Y/N but they just sat on the picnic blanket with their arms crossed.

“I want to help you fish though.” Y/N said, each word layered with disappointment.

Will’s heart broke, but he knew the stream was just too dangerous. “You will be helping me fish. You’re my good luck charm.” He smiled.

“But maybe we’ll have to take a trip to the lake with you. That way we can go swimming. How does that sound?” Will offered.

That seemed to do the trick and lighten Y/N mood. “Really?”

“Really. It sounds like a plan.” He stood up and grabbed his fishing pole. “Now I wont be far, I’ll just be over there if you need me okay?”

Y/N nodded. With one little kiss to their forehead Will embarked on his fishing expedition, leaving Hannibal and Y/N behind in the picnic blanket.

Despite being okay 2 seconds ago with not going in the stream with Will to fish, Hannibal could see the moment Will left and entered the water their little one was upset again.

But of course Hannibal wasn’t going to let his little one sit in misery. “Why don’t we have a little wilderness expedition?” He offered.

His little one turned to him and seemly snapped out of their disappointment for a moment. “Expedition?” They asked.

Hannibal smiled at his little ones confusion. He stood up put his hand out to them. “Why don’t we go on a little adventure?”

Their face lit up to the idea! “Adventure!!!” They jumped up and joined Hannibal.

So, hand in hand the two decided to take a little walk together through the forest.

They came across a tiny tree on their trail, similar looking to the Charlie Brown tree in the Christmas special.

“Now, how many branches do you think are on this tree?” Hannibal asked his little one.

They hummed in concentration. After a moment they simply held up three fingers.

Hannibal’s face lit up. “Wonderful job darling! You are so smart! Well done!” He gently squeezed their hand.

Y/N face lit up as well. Smiling and giggling under the praise.

They walked closer to the coastline. Despite earlier wanting to go into the water and play, the closer they got to the water the tighter Y/N held onto Hannibal’s hand. He smiled and wrapped a protective arm around them.

Together they could see Will in the distance casting his line out. He looked so at peace fishing.

“Green.” Y/N said breaking the silence.

“Green?” Hannibal repeated. They were surrounded by green between the forest trees, the grass, the bushes…

“His shirt…green.” Y/N said pointing at Will. They looked back at Hannibal and smiled. “And you’re…pink!” They added with a giggle.

Hannibal smiled seeing just how excited Y/N was getting. “Yes darling! Wow! Look at you my little genius!”

Y/N smiled some more, blushing under the praise.

The two walked back to the picnic basket, not without Y/N counting every rock they came across on the way back there.

“One.” They pointed out.

“Two.”

“Three”

“Four.”

“Fi…four.”

“Five.” Hannibal helped.

“Five!” They happily replied.

Well maybe they skipped a couple of rocks on the way back because….well…numbers and colors can be so tiring!

Y/N ran over and plopped onto the picnic blanket, opting to lay down rather than sit at the moment. Hannibal found it absolutely adorable! He could tell a nap was in sight for his little one soon enough.

But for now it was lunch time for the three. He turned to the river and called out for Will.

Y/N laid on their back and just stared at the sky. It was a bit obstructed by the beautiful branches on the trees but it only made the scene more beautiful. There was a light breeze that blew through the forest that gently moved the tree branches and leaves. It was so peaceful.

Everything was so peaceful. They had never felt such peace before Will and Hannibal. The two caregivers made them feel appreciated and cared for. Something they haven’t felt since….well…forever.

Their eyes started to drift off while watch the tree sway in the breeze. They only opened again when…

“Y/N sweetheart? Are you sleeping?”

Y/N quickly lifted their head to see Will walking over to sit next to them. They gasped and hugged Will the moment he sat down.

“No…not tired…” Y/N said holding onto Will’s with one hand and rubbing their eyes with the other. “Did you catch fishies?”

“I caught two thanks to you my little good luck charm.” Will added wrapping an arm around them. “What did you do while I was gone?”

Y/n leaned back and cuddled into Will side as Hannibal started getting their lunch together.

“I saw…fou-…no! five rocks on the way here! And we saw a tree with three branches and and we saw you! And I realize that your shirt is green! And his is pink!” Y/N rambled on.

“Oh my goodness you saw so many rocks! And what a small tree you must’ve saw. Plus I didn’t even know my shirt was green until you mentioned it! Sweetheart you are becoming so so smart! I am so proud of you!” Will praised, squeezing them closer.

“So am I! I couldn’t believe how intelligent our little one is. We truly won the lottery with them.” Hannibal smiled.

“I couldn’t agree more.” Will smiled back all while Y/N smiled and kicked their feet in excitement. They were truly the best Caregivers making Y/N feel so special.

Soon Hannibal had passed out a sandwich for everyone. But this is Hannibal we’re talking about so it was a fancy sandwich, if that’s even possible…It’s Hannibal who made it, so it fancy some how some way.

After sandwiches Hannibal and Will ate cheese and crackers while Y/N drank a bottle. At first they held onto it, determined to remain awake. But after a while it was getting hard! The breezy was so refreshing and they were making the leave shake and the noise was just making it so relaxing! It was becoming harder and harder to stay awake!

They kept nodding off while drinking which lead to them leaning more and more against Will. Soon without realizing it, Will had taken over holding their bottle while they were leaned against him falling asleep. Soon their eyes started to close.

They awoke a little bit later. They were laying down on the picnic blanket, head in Hannibal’s lap and his jacket draped across them as a makeshift blanket. Hannibal was looking out at Will in the stream but he had one hand wrapped around Y/N and the other playing with their hair.

Stretching a little to wake themselves up a bit caught Hannibal’s attention. He just smiled as he looked down at his little one. “Go back to sleep darling, your brain need to rest after all the working it’s been doing today. Don’t worry, your protectors are right here.” He said with a little forehead kiss at the end.

He was right! They did do a lot of work today! They did deserve to rest! The stream soared on in the distance and the trees continued to sway in the breeze. Sending Hannibal and Will’s smartie little one back into a peaceful nap.

16: lumine the thirdwheel ♤

Aether's POV

4 February, Friday 3.57pm

Location: Komore Teahouse

It had been a few days since Aether last texted Xiao, and needless to say, he was feeling troubled and confused. He needed time to process what Xiao had told him that night. Out of the countless possibilities out there, the only reason why he even avoided you in the first place was because he had a crush on you??

That possibility sounded stupid and it is stupid.

But what if he really did have a crush on you? What would he do then? He already knew he had no game, considering how he hasn't been in a relationship before. He hasn't even had his first kiss yet!

"Wait, why am I even thinking about that. I don't like her in that way, right? I only just want to be yn's friend, that's all!"

But for some reason, the thought of him just being your friend did not sit right with him. It seemed as if he wanted to be more than just "a friend of yours".

"Maybe I want to be good friends with her, like how she is with Lumine! Yeah! That's probably it.."

With a heavy heart, Aether entered Komore Teahouse to get a quick drink, unbeknownst to who he'll meet inside.

Your POV

"Hey, isn't that Aether that just walked in? We should go say hi to him."

You and Lumine were having a drink at the teahouse when you spotted Aether entering the premises.

"I literally see his face every single day, there's no need for me to say hi to him when we literally live together."

You deadpanned at Lumine's response.

"Ooookay then, well I'm going to say hi to him anyways, be right back!"

You got out of your seat and walked towards Aether, who was picking out what he should order. You felt a skip in your step and your heart was racing faster than usual. Why were you feeling like this? Maybe you were just excited to see Aether. I mean, it had been a while since you last hung out with him.

You walked up to him and tapped him on his shoulder.

"Heyy Aether! It's been a while, hasn't it?"

You watched as he turned around, a surprised look on his face.

"YN! You surprised me haha! I didn't know you'd be here, how are you?"

"I'm doing alright I guess, just been busy with some of my assignments. I came here with Lumine to chill lol. You should sit with us once you order your drink!"

"O-okay!"

4 February, Friday 4.06pm

Once he got his drink, you directed Aether to where you and Lumine were sitting at, and he sat opposite you. You glanced over at him to look at what he was wearing. He was wearing a dark blue vest with an inner white t-shirt and light brown pants.

"Wow, you have a good sense of fashion Aether. I mean it is expected. After all, you are gorgeous as fuck. "

Wait.. what did you just say??

You felt your face heat up and looked down in embarrassment. You didn't mean to say that out loud.

While trying to recover from that moment, you failed to notice how red the boy in front of you has become due to your sudden comment.

Pairing: Derek Smith (Modsun) x reader

A/N: 3,253 words! I’m absolutely in love with how this turned out. Based off a dream I had. Hopefully, other people besides my old ass catch the reference at the end. Enjoy! Gimme all the Feedback!!!

With hugging, cuddling, chaste kisses and exchanging ‘I love yous’, it’s safe to say the line between friends and lovers is definitely blurred when it comes to you and Derek. In your heart of hearts the line no longer exists for you; you’ve fallen head over heels IN-LOVE with your best friend. You can only hope he feels the same way.

And while you’ve always found Derek attractive throughout his ever changing style, his latest look made it even harder for you to keep your eyes off him. His once blonde hair now dark as a Raven, with a matching mustache , makes his ocean eyes appear a more vibrant tropical blue. He looked like a dark tempting mystery you were dying to solve.

After torturing yourself over the ‘should I’s’ and ‘what if’s’ of confessing your true feelings for Derek, you decide to confide in his best friend Colson and get his opinion on it.

“I’m pretty sure the feeling is mutual,” he assures you. “I see the way he looks at you when he thinks no one is watching, the boys smitten.”

Armed with all the bravery you can muster up and Colson’s assurance from the previous day, you decide today's the day you're going to tell Derek the way you really feel. You should be nervous right now but it's hard to feel anything negative when you’re already laying in the grass at the skatepark with the man of your dreams, your head using Derek’s unshaven chest —also part of his new edgier look— as a pillow, while you watch the clouds roll by.

“That one looks like a heart,” you point out. “Your turn.”

“Ok, ummmm.. ooh that one looks like Genesha!”

“Like the Hindu God on your back tattoo? I’m not seeing it,” you say quizzically.

“Right there,” he points, “That big fluffy part uptop is like the elephant ears and head, and all the thin wispy cirrus clouds below it are the trunk and its multiple arms.”

“Looks more like an octopus or jellyfish to me,” you shrug. “But I always love the creative things your brilliant mind comes up with when we do this together.”

Then suddenly you remember when Derek first got his Ganesha tattoo, and how he explained how it symbolizes the removal of obstacles and new beginnings. ‘This is it! This is a sign!’ You think to yourself ‘Now’s the time!’

“Derek, I need to tell you something.” You state, switching your position onto your stomach and elbows next to him.

“Of course, what is it?” He questions, half sitting up resting back on his forearms.

“I love you!” You blurt out.

“Ok… I love you too, you know that.” He sounds confused.

“No..” You take a big breath. “Like I’m IN LOVE with you, I wanna be with you…” You let your words hang in the air as you patiently wait for Derek to hopefully say he’s in love with you too.

But all he finally says is “OH.”

Your stomach sinks and you swallow hard. “I was hoping you feel the same way??” You prompt him.

“Y/N… I-I don’t think it’s a good idea, I cherish our friendship and I don’t want anything to potentially ruin it.”

“Derek, I cherish our friendship too, and I get your concern but we could make it work, I know we could. We’ll always be best friends no matter what. We have an unbreakable bond. Just tell me if you feel the same —“

“Y/N, I already told you how I feel,” he quickly gets up and grabs his skateboard and heads to the half pipe without another word.

You walk over to a shady spot under the pavilion and pull out your phone to text Colson.

Y/N: Thx a lot, the feeling is NOT mutual and I’m pretty sure Derek’s never gonna talk 2 me again now 😫

Colson: Derek’s literally textin me right now freakin out cuz he DOES feel the same way but he's scared to tell you and take things further cuz he’s terrified that if it doesn’t work out he’ll lose you forever, but now he’s worried that your mad at him and you guys are gonna be awkward around each other.

Y/N: Wait , seriously! He said that???

Colson: Yes! I told you! Do I know my boy or what?

Y/N: So now what do I do?

Colson: give him time. he needs to realize on his own it’ll work & he won’t lose you. act normal but flirty so he knows you’re still interested & not upset. i say he breaks by the end of the day!

Y/N: thx you’re the best! Shit, phone’s about to die

Right after you hit send your phone screen goes black. “Fuck,” you mumble to yourself looking around for a clock. You don’t see one but you do see another skater sitting nearby looking down at his phone, and you get up and walk over.

“Hey, you mind telling me the time? My phone just died.”

“Yeah, 2:13. But you sure you should be talking to me. I don’t want no drama with your boyfriend over there?”

“We’re not dating,” you roll your eyes at first but then smile to yourself realizing that even a stranger can see the chemistry you and Derek have.

“That’s what he said too when I asked him, but then when I asked if he minded if I shoot my shot he said ‘I'd prefer if you didn’t.’ So I was confused.”

“Oh reallllly,” you snicker to yourself, saving that tidbit of information for later, and instead calling out to Derek, who’s now grabbing a water from the vending machine “See even strangers think we’re dating!”

He responds by sticking his tongue out at you in true Derek fashion, his playful personality shining through. And that’s when you know you guys are gonna be okay.

The ride back to Derek’s is mostly quiet, but not awkward. You share the same comfortable silence you’re always able to with Derek. You’re the first to speak as the car approaches his street.

“Have I told you how much I like this new look on you?” You smile “Very mysterious,” you add in a mock deep voice.

“Yeah?” Derek laughs, pulling into his driveway.

“Yeah, you look a hott guy at a poetry slam, a sexy Gomez Addams, a handsome modern day Edgar Allen Poe, if you will.” You playfully compliment him as you both exit the car. “Ohhh and Johnny Depp!”

“You’re too much,” he cracks up, turning the key in the front door.

Once inside his bedroom Derek— still shirtless— sits on the bottom edge of his bed to kick off his shoes. It’s then that you take notice of the pink hue of his cheeks.

“I made you blush,” you tease in a sing-song voice, making your way over to him. “C’mon Derek, just admit you feel the same way I do, I already know you do, I just wanna hear you say it.” You step closer and into a wider stance, his legs now sandwiched between yours.

A warm, guilty smile spreads across his face; a smile that says everything he’s too scared to. But he’s almost there. You can feel it. You have to keep trying.

“Soooo Derek, if you won't admit you have feelings for me, then why’d you tell the guy at the skatepark that you ‘prefer he didn't shoot his shot’ at me, huh?”

His smile spreads and his blush deepens, but he still hasn’t said a word.

Time to up the ante.

“I know it’s hard to talk about feelings sometimes, so let’s talk about something different…” you smirk, pausing to lift your knees onto the bed; one on either side of Derek’s lap, officially straddling him. You lean forward and tuck a piece of dark hair behind his ear and whisper “Tell me Derek, do you ever wonder how it would feel to be inside me?”

Involuntarily, Derek lifts his hips, briefly grinding against you, already half hard.

“I’ll take that as a yes!” You giggle, rolling your hips against him as you pull your shirt up over your head and off.

The next thing you know, Derek’s lips are on your clavicle. Low grumbling moans escape him as he kisses a path up your neck, and over your jaw to your mouth. He gently cradles your face; thumbs by your ears and fingertips pressed to the nape of your neck. You part your lips for him; a silent invitation you pray his tongue RSVPs to.

It replies almost instantly, slipping in between your lips and over your teeth to the warm welcome of your own tongue. They dance and twirl in rhythm with your heavy breathing, as you both fall back onto the bed, with you on top.

Sure you’ve kissed Derek before, but nothing like this. This is far more intimate than friendly pecks hello and goodbye. This is a declaration of love written in calligraphy with his tongue. And even though his actions speak louder than words, a part of you still needs to hear him say it.

“Derek…” you pull back from a kiss, your hand gently pushing down on his chest.

“W-what’s wrong?” He sits up half way, on his elbows, and looks up at you confused and concerned.

“Derek,I’m sorry but I need to hear you actually say it before we take this any further. I need to know it’s true.”

Finally, Derek begins to speak; A endless river of rapidly flowing words: “What do you want me to say Y/N? That I’m in love with you, that I’ve been in love with you since the first day we met all those years ago at that party Colson threw, but that I never made a move because I respected the fact that you had a boyfriend at the time. And that by the time that relationship ended I had already dug myself so deep in the friendzone that I didn’t know how to claw myself back out, so all I could do was offer you a shoulder to cry on, because I didn’t want to compromise our friendship. That it was more important to me to have you in my life forever, than to take a chance at love and possibly lose you forever. That every relationship I’ve had since then has failed, because mentally all I do is compare them to you, and they’ll never be good enough. That at times I’ve kept my eyes closed during sex with other women so that I could picture you beneath me instead. So to answer your question — yes, I have wondered what it would feel like to be inside you. I’ve whispered your name as I climaxed alone thinking about it late at night when I can’t sleep. In fact every stain on my sheets is because of you. “Good, cuz it’s all true,” his smile reaches his eyes. “Now where were we?” He sits up fully, his mouth transforming into a smirk before finding your neck again.

He licks, sucks and nibbles the column of flesh while he explores your body. The feeling of his mouth and tongue on your neck sends a tingle through your whole body straight to your core. Favorite Holidays: Christmas and Halloween. even tho i find it harder to feel the holiday spirit up until the very last minute i love christmas so much. and not even to be corny but its true that when you grow up you start to care less about the presents and more about the memories with family and friends.

Last Book/Fic Finished: last fic i finished was keeping up with the berzattos by chefskiss40 on ao3. ive reread it like 3 or 4 times now and im patiently waiting for an update. its just so good, i love the domestic vibes. im not a fan of seeing my ships start families in canon but in fic? oh i could read that forever

Last Book/Fic Abandoned: not really abandoned but sorta modified? the sydcarmy high school au i started in the summer was a good concept but i didnt really have a concrete idea where the overall story would go. BUT im planning on maybe doing a series which is just a collection of one shots of them in HS? OR i plan on doing a multi-chapter shorter story that is an AU that also takes place in a high school setting but with a twist that i dont want to reveal bc that would mean i would have to commit to it. lol

Currently Reading: nothing. unless you count all these articles/research papers I've been reading for my health research studies course (think i aced the exam yesterday so maybe all the pain was worth it)

Last Thing Researched for Art/Writing/Hyperfixation: doesnt really count as research but basically i was on pinterest creating boards for 3 different fics. was researching wedding dresses for a nat & syd fic where they go wedding dress shopping (will be finishing after my last exam). also just creating two other boards to inspire myself to start the au i teased above and my bones and all AU/retelling i talked about last month. i want to watch some more cannibalism media and maybe research about 80s pop culture and politics before i dive into that one fully.

Favorite Online Fandom Memory: ummmm probably just being a menace on twitter with my friends that i made through being a reveluv. we talk every single day, and they are some of the best people i know. maybe the times we used to get up early or stay up late for comeback season, watch the kcharts being updated hourly and crack jokes about group we liked and didnt like

Favorite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence: technically THG is having a resurgence right now but im way too into the bear to really get back into it and also i havent seen the new movie. im excited to once exam season is done but i feel like the hype is already dying so i dont see myself getting too into it.

tagged by @quinn-of-aebradore (and I was tagged in a very similar thing by @spottedenchants a bit ago but didn’t get around to it before this, so I hope you don’t mind me combining them!) thank you :D

Last song I listened to: “Sometime We’ll Understand” from the Lamb of God Easter oratorio by Rob Gardner. With the season and driving by a bunch of churches with Easter signs, I got real nostalgic for Easter music because there are so many great pieces. And Lamb of God holds a lot of memories for me because my dad was the lead cellist for the local production for several years, and I even got to take part one year. And it is just soooo musically tasty and I was just filled with energy listening to it yesterday. The CHOIR, the SOLOISTS, the SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA!!! If you remember me expressing my love for French horns a few weeks ago, Lamb of God played no small part in establishing this opinion. If you don’t mind Christian hymns, I highly recommend checking it out, and all of Rob Gardner’s work because he is truly one of the goats.

Last book I read: I’ve kinda started and stopped a few books recently, not for any particular reason just… idk. So instead I’m gonna plug a fic I’ve been keeping up with that published its final chapter last night: Judgement & Justice! It is such a fascinating and engaging work that explores the details of legally condemning Ikithon, the ways that the law can fail anyone, how even doing something you believe is right can be incredibly traumatizing. As one of the tags says, “the mundane horrors of the criminal justice system”. So good. I highly recommend.

Last film I watched: ummmm, yesterday I saw like 30 minutes of Wish after the school field trip bc the teacher was so kind and said, “nope. interpreters are out of commission. we’re watching a movie.” The music didn’t appeal to me too much, which sucks bc I LOVE Ariana DeBose’s voice. But I will say that the special effect art was sick and some of the character designs are cute!

Last TV series: uhhhh idk I watch a lot of YouTube. Drawfee, Zelda randomizers, that kinda stuff. and critrole obv lol :)

Last thing I googled: “peafowl”. I love birds and will infodump about them and I wanted to show my coworker how different peahens are to peacocks, and most people have no idea they’re called anything but peacocks.

Last thing I ate: ritz crackers and nutella. It’s a combination I wouldn’t have put together of my own accord, but in eighth grade, my friend brought some into history class and convinced me to try it and I’ve been sold ever since.

Sweet, savory, or spicy: Yes. However, savory and spicy go well together, but sweet doesn’t go with either. I have a massive sweet tooth and my mom raised me to have high standards for desserts, so when I have sweets, I want them to be to my taste. I like spicy food and I have a decent spice tolerance. It used to be higher but either adulthood or my anxiety meds reduced it rip :’(

Amount of sleep: ummmm about 6 hours? I should probably be getting more, but unfortunately sleep is boring.

currently obsessed with: you know it’s shadowgast lol. but more specifically I’m still in my How to Rest brainrot. I have a break next week, so I want to get the chapter 6 director’s commentary done and start working on the coda fic bc hnnngggghgg soft wizards.

I’m also obsessed with my cat. She’s turning 6 on Sunday and she’s been so snuggly lately! Look at her!!!

2. first ever ship: hmmm. Probably Ranma/Akane from the middle school days. Tbh nowadays I feel like Akane is a lesbian actually but it could work out if they grow up and Ranma becomes more comfortable identifying as gender-fluid or gender neutral

3. last song: I’ve been binging podcasts for the past week or so but I’ve also been playing Stardew Valley while listening, so probably whatever track I last heard there lol

5. currently reading: nothing technically bc I just finished the new Murderbot audiobook but that said GO READ (or listen to, even though the narrator of the audiobook is TERRIBLE at pronouncing names) MURDERBOT DIARIES I PROMISE IT’S WORTH IT

I mean if you’re not a fan of the sarcastic first person narrative format maybe you won’t like it but it’s very well done. It’s my kind of sci-fi, in that it focuses less on tech and worldbuilding (although there’s plenty of that) and more on character and how the worldbuilding actually affects the people in it

6. currently watching: my favorite hbomberguy and Folding Ideas video essays on loop. Although it’s usually as background while I play video games soooo watching might not be the right word lol

7. currently consuming: food-wise nothing; I’m at the doctor’s office waiting room for physical therapy. Media-wise, have been listening to a lotttt of Behind the Bastards, started with the Kissinger stuff. Really makes me think emotional intelligence/healthy coping mechanisms should be taught officially or something. Sure, some people will still be awful but I think at least some people would wind up NOT committing atrocities y’know

8. currently craving: Kailua pig. Or like, one really, really good avocado. The ones back home are probably in season now and yet I am trapped in the temperate zone where no one knows when an avocado is ripe and just toss in some hard green cubes

book that pleasantly surprised you: hmmm begin again by emma lord i guess? went into it thinking “oh this is going to be a fun contemporary romance that will just be vibes yay” and it. oh my god. what the fuck. it should not have felt that emotionally devastating and it should not have hit that hard but also i happened to be touring colleges across the country while reading these quotes:

it’s giving the love was there it didn’t change anything it didn’t save anyone but it mattered. except it’s contemporary romance so it did change things in the end

book that disappointed you: uhhhh one for my enemy by olivie blake….. i don’t know WHY this just did not do it for me since i LOVE romeo & juliet and i did like the atlas six but. maybe i’m just too ace for it. and also as a r&j defender i have not right to complain about this but it felt rather insta-lovey. and i could not bring myself to care about anythinggggg except roman’s relationship with his father

top 2 books on your tbr: ummmm this will be more than 2 books i think. gideon the ninth (sorry tumblr), she who became the sun… autobiography of red (which is kind of more of a current read i need to go back to), also as you like it (i hate reading shakespeare on pdfs. but i also don’t really want to buy a copy)

rec a book to the person who tagged you: OKAY. little thieves by margaret owen is SOOOOOO…… i literally can’t stop thinking about it and it is SO demi. i don’t know. it got me back into fantasy. vanja is the character ever and it’s soooo mommy issues. vanja and gisele’s relationship was insane and reminded me sooo much of this one girl i used to dance with but that’s not relevant lol. the sequel painted devils is good too but not as incredible as the first book but also it’s fun bc vanja girlbosses a little too close to the sun and also unpacking the construct of virginity !! also another rec maybe portrait of a thief by grace d li 👀

Thank you @marypsue for tagging me! (I'm sorry it is so late) This got VERY long, so I will put it under a cut.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

54, my god.

2. What’s your total word count?

188,134. Which seems both enormous and not enough lol.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Right now, I'm in a major Hatchetfield kick. Those musicals have me by the throat. But I am also working on a Stranger Things series too! However, I'm probably most known for my My Hero Academia stuff, I know a couple of those absolutely did numbers when I wasn't looking.

4. Top 5 fics by kudos

Oh I'm pretty sure I know. *checks Statistics* Yep I was right. My top five (and six and seven) are all from my Truth series, which is a MHA Dabihawks AU where Hawks joins the League of Villains.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try! Sometimes I get overwhelmed and fall behind but I swear I always read them and love them and am so touched.

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Ummmm... Deadass, I think it was the first fic I ever posted, back in high school. It was a Doctor Who fanfic, about a Weeping Angel who feel in love with a human, and tried to stop killing for him, but was so hungry she ended up killing him instead. It's almost ten years old, but you can find it here.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I am once go back deep in my archives for this one. Back in 2015, I posted a Supernatural fic that was pure fluff, Karaoke. It was my idea of a series finale where everything was beautiful for once. Riiiiip.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I definitely have before, but only like once or twice and I immediately blocked them. It is always heartbreaking though. :(

9. Do you write smut?

Once that I posted! Though I may have an unfinished draft or two, lol

10. Do you write crossovers?

Yes, absolutely! My crossover tend to be characters experiencing scenarios from other universes, rather than character meeting.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Mostly by the AO3 scraping stuff, though I have found some suspicious posts with stuff from the Truth series on other sites, but nothing really definite.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes and I dropped my phone when the request came in. I was so excited.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yeah I have!!! My go-to partner in crime is @little-engineer-who-cant, we've been writing together since middle school.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Oh god, this is hard. Ummm... I suppose the first ship I ever really super got into was Ten/Rose in Doctor Who, so it holds a special place in my heart.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

Honestly, one I really loved was an Adventure Zone Wicked au. There were a lot of great concepts in that one, but I never really got anywhere with it.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue! I love dialogue. It tends to be what I write first and then I go back and fill in the blanks.

I feel like I'm also pretty good at exploring concepts, like, taking things to their furthest extreme and exploring what it means in the universe.

Also angst. I love angst.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Descriptions. I just want you all to know what I am seeing in my head, not have to describe it. I really have to work at imagery, and making scenes feel alive.

Also fuck fight scenes.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

I would do it if I felt confident that I or another person could edit it to be accurate. If I am google translating or something, I'd rather just do English italics or say what characters the language are speaking. I don't want to butcher another language.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

As mentioned previously, the first fic I published was for Doctor Who but god as a kid I wrote myself into stories all the time! Should have known I'd end up a writer. Probably Yu-Gi-Oh or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Ohhhhhh these are so hard. Ummmm... To be honest, I am so incredibly proud of I Need a Shovel to Love Him. It is one of my recent Hatchetfield fics and is an exploration of grief, and it probably the closest a piece of writing has ever been to exactly what I pictured in my head when I wrote it.

But! Trying to ignore the bias for recent works, So Few Men Can Carry It is probably up there. It is an OC focused story in the Truth universe, and I loved discussing healthcare in a world with professional superheroes and plan to do more original stuff with that concept, because I love it so much.

Well, members of the Moon Sparks system ! We figured out it could be nice for the whole system to get a sideblog instead of making a blog for each member as not everyone is as chronically online as the host-host, me, Léa/Léo/Kevin (also going by "Moon" to a few members). I guess I'm going to be the main writer of the pinned, haha. I'm the main host and the core I guess (we're still new to proper system terminology haha).
