#digital art #my suffering ends man #I made her a little more monstrous looking after her corruption becuz . I wanted to ^_^ #as in I've drawn a little bit more uncorrupted gems (which she is) since her initial design so I wanted to redo it a little #made her look like a shark. becuz she's a lemon quartz so.. lemon shark idk man it just happened whil I was drawing #she wasn't initially gonna be uncorrupted but it would only make sense for her to be. also she's super cute now !!!! #also forgive me for idulging in myself. she doesn't have a body this human; she's segmented just like most other gems. #she doesn't have fat reserves so her “excess” weight wouldn't fold like humans she's segmented like an ant #because that's how I interpret gems to be like... #anyways really glad I'm done w this finally ^_^ #now I have to make some refs for art fight. so that people aren't frustrated by how scattered all my references usually are #I go by muscle memory baby !! I work with whatever color references I have but that doesn't work for art fight so yea #sorry for rambling in my tags again (I'm not) I just deserve to after this headache of a piece and am thinking about a lot #Lemmy&Cateye #real proud of this I think it could be better though

an uncorrupted Angel Aura Quartz who now can enjoy the freedom earth had to offer after being on the side of Rose Quartz during the rebellion 

she once was a high ranking soldier but now she just wants to enjoy the years after being trapped as a monster for much too long for her liking- it might have developed into her no longer wanting to even confront 'unhappy' emotions at all. but thats a problem for later to deal with.

Lately I have been hyperfixating on Steven universe again and the pokemon nerd will always be rooted deep inside me so I'm going to assign all the Steven universe characters pokemon types (i hope no one did this yet)

First one up is Steven, I'll say normal and fairy. Fairy on behalf of Rose/Pink, and normal since he's half human

Next up is Pearl, she's a fairy and fighting type. I think all pearls would be the same type as their diamonds, so pearl is also a fairy type, but also a fighting type. I don't think she came with that type, I'd like to think she somehow gained it some time during the rebellion

Amethyst would be a rock and fighting type, i think that all quartzes would be a ground type instead of a rock type, but since she's off color, she gets the rock typing.

Garnet is a rock and fairy type. I wanted to do rock and fighting, but I needed to put a fairy in there somewhere for Ruby and Sapphires love obviously! (The former "cotton candy" Garnet design just screams fairy.) I think she's good without the fighting type though, because if you've played any Pokemon game, you'd know that fairy types are RIDICULOUSLY powerful..

Ruby is definitely fire and fighting. What else would she be?

Sapphire would be an ice and psychic. I'm saying psychic, because of her ability to see into the future

Bismuth, I feel, would be a rock and steel type. It just makes a whole lot of sense. Almost every rock and steel type Pokemon that we currently have is insanely physically powerful

Lapis is a water and flying type! for some reason I can't shake the feeling off that the flying type doesn't fit her, but she has wings, she can fly, as can every other lapis, she's a flying type

Peridot is a ground and steel type, I was wondering if psychic would fit more but I don't think her metal powers could really be considered psychic, so steel it is!

Jasper is a ground and fighting, it just fits. She RADIATES Garchomp vibes.

Malachite would definitely be a water and dark type.

Aquamarine is a bug type since she is an insect. I accept no criticism for this (haha jk, she's water and dark)

Nephrite is a rock and bug type! I think she was a pure rock type before her corruption, and being centipeetle gave her the bug type, and even after she was uncorrupted, she kept that type, kind of like how the quartzes keep their horns.

The rutile twins will be a pure rock type. I can't see them having any other type. Maybe a rock and ground but idk!

Fluorite is a fairy type, i really can't see her having any other type than that! It fits her perfectly :)

Padparadscha is another one I'm kinda conflicted about, I know she'll definitely have the normal type, but idk if she'd also have the psychic type. I mean, she definitely has some sort of power, it just doesn't work the way it should. So I'll say normal and psychic.

Rhodonite is another fairy, i don't know if she'd have a second typing, if she did it'd be rock for sure

Blue zircon and yellow zircon would both be pure rock, i really don't see them having a secondary typing.

Doc and army would both be fire and fighting type! It fits them both

Navy would be a fairy type, i can't see her being anything like a fighting type. She might also be a dark type but whether or not it was inherently malicious of her to do what she did in room for Ruby is up for debate (but i like to think she's a sociopath with no morals)

Leggy, i think, might be a normal and rock type .. ? Idk she doesn't seem like she'd have any other type, she's just too confused, she just kinda.. exists

Eyeball would for sure be a dark and fighting type, can't see ANYTHING else fitting that girl

The heaven beetle and earth beetle would both be bug and rock! Very little.

Spinel is a fairy and dark. Like Pearl, she originally was a pure fairy type but gained the dark type. I could kinda see her losing her fairy type after gaining her dark type all together, but she was still silly and cute! She was just too hurt. Even after reaching a much better place mentally, she wouldn't lose the dark type

Yellow diamond would be an electric type, which is cliche, but don't forget she literally has electricity powers!!!

Blue diamond would be water, which is, again, cliche, but water really is her whole thing! She makes people cry, and those happy pill clouds she's rocking in future are, assumably, made out of water like normal clouds are!

White diamond is a psychic and dark type. SHE SCREAMS PSYCHIC AND DARK! it fits her so well! Whenever she's using the new power she has in future that lets people connect with her, she would gain their typing temporarily!

I think yellow and blue pearl would both be the same types as their diamonds! Electric and water respectively!

Volleyball (or pink pearl, or white pearl, wow she has a lot of names) is a pure fairy type. I think while she was under white diamonds control, she was also psychic and dark.

In Era 3, when the diamonds turn good, steven and eric leads them to the temple and bring's out their bubbled, corrupted parents and tells them to undo what they have done to them.

The diamonds nod and unbubbles Corrupted! Dark Quartz and the diamonds look sad that they has done this to them.

After the diamonds, with the help of Steven as he has some of his mother's power, they uncorrupt Dark Quartz and they unfuse.

Rose Quartz and Darkiplier immediately go to comfort their children and tell them this won't happen ever again.

All they do all day is cuddle with their kids while Rose Quartz! Reader coos at them, saying she loves them so much and is never going to leave them again.

Steven didn’t like that the diamonds were here but they’ve ‘changed’ in their words. Eric and him were leading them to the temple to fix their wrongs but they’ll need to do more for them to make them forgive them. Soon they arrived in front of the corrupted Dark Quartz gem. “Fix what you’ve done to them” The diamonds nodded as they unbubbled Dark Quartz.

Seeing the corrupted Dark Quartz they all regretted it but they fixed their wrongs..they saw you and dark unfuse. “Steven! Eric!” “Oh thank goodness you two are safe!” You and dark immediately hugged your sons, happy to see them safe. Eric and Steven were crying in happiness as you smiled and wiped their tears. “We promise that this will never happen again” Steven and Eric nodded believing their parents.

For everyone it was odd to see Dark cuddling but they didn’t say anything as it was obvious he and his family needed this. Dark smiled as you whispered how much you loved your sons to them. “I love you both so much, I’m so happy I can call myself your mother. You two brighten my day. I love you two so much” your back to your cheerful self. While you might need some therapy your just happy to have your family again

I came up with this idea a long time ago, when Steven Universe had just ended.

Lapis has been watching Jasper from time to time since she was uncorrupted, and a few days after Steven left, she saw Jasper sitting on the Brooding Hill and joined her. They had a conversation. They recalled different events that had happened to each of them. And Lapis didn’t like Jasper's pessimism. She didn’t like Jasper, who didn’t believe that she could change, who recalled Lapis' memories of being imprisoned in the mirror and thought that she should be imprisoned in the same way, who wanted to be rejuvenated or even shattered.

And Lapis thinks what Steven would do. He always forgave everyone and was friends with everyone. He would have liked it if Lapis had done the same. Lapis holds out his hand to Jasper and offers to remember the old days.

– You... Do you really want to do this? You said it was a prison for you.

– I want to help you. Like Steven helped me. Like he wanted to help you.

– Aren't you happy to see me so pathetic?

– NO! – Lapis shouts and Jasper twitches in amazement. Lapis grabs Jasper’s head and pushes it to her head.

This time Malachite was smaller, she was slightly higher than the Jasper herself. She had long horns, a pair of hands that were instead of hind legs, were wearing pants and flip-flops.

On her wings, she flew to the Beach City and immediately went to the Snowflake Obsidian and Larimar, as the memories of her components told her that snow cone is very tasty. She really didn't want to meet Crystal Gems, especially Garnet, but ironically, she soon meets Garnet. She says that Malachite has cute horns, notices that she has greatly decreased and asks if she is going to exist forever.

Malachite asks Garnet to leave her alone, but Garnet just having fun from this reaction. After all, she likes to see another fusion, and also the one that has changed and become better.

Malachite outsmarts Garnet and hides from her to get to the snow cone stand, where she asks Snowflake Obsidian for a watermelon-flavored cone, since the only food Malachite ever ate was Watermelon Stevens. Lapis ate snow horns many times, Jasper ate them only a couple of times, and Malachite did it for the first time. And because of that, the taste was like a new one.

Since Garnet knows that Malachite is back together, she can tell everyone about it, and Malachite thinks what to do. She's thinking of going to Bismuth. Jasper and Bismuth did not communicate as much as Lapis and Bismuth, but they had more or less friendly relationship. They mostly discussed Pink Diamond and her second personality Rose Quartz.

Malachite does not notice how she comes to the beach in front of the Crystal Temple. She thinks about the Obsidian that Lapis knew about, and thinks about her power that has nowhere to apply. And suddenly an idea comes to her, and she begins to create ice blocks and destroy them. And then she starts creating ice statues of Garnet. Amethyst finds her doing this, says that Malachite is on fire, and calls her Sis. Statues of Garnet throw snowballs to Amethyst. When Amethyst digs out of the snow and throws a huge ball of snow at the statues of Garnet, knocking them down like in a bowling alley, Malachite is nowhere to be found.

Malachite arrives in a Little HomeWorld and meets Vidalia, who offers her to be model for her drawing class. Vidalia calls her a beauty and Malachite is outraged because her name is Malachite, not Beauty. But she agrees to sit still and pose, because she is afraid that the next person she will meet will be Pearl.

Malachite was amazed to see the drawings, as it was the first time she saw herself not in the reflection of water. She couldn't even believe that she looked so beautiful.

In fact, Vidalia recognized Malachite immediately. Amethyst and Lapis told her about Malachite and showed her the drawings. So even though this time Malachite was smaller, Vidalia remembered her.

Amethyst sent her a message about the snowball fight, at the same time sharing Garnet’s story about meeting an old friend. Therefore, it cost Vidalia nothing to write a Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst message asking her to stay away from her class while Malachite is here. If green fusion didn't want to see them so much, then let her not see them. But no one said anything to Peridot. And she wondered why Lapis didn't come back from a walk for so long, and she went to look for her.

She was very surprised to see Malachite, but Vidalia calmed her down and told her everything. And then Alexandrite comes to Malachite, and she is also very small. They are about the same height. And Malachite is very angry. But Alexandrite offers her a duel. "You're both against us," she says. "I'm against you," Malachite corrects her. They smile at each other, Malachite tells his new friends that he will be back soon and goes to the teleport with Alexandrite.

Previously, Malachite was the hate of Jasper and Lapis for each other. But now... She became forgiveness. She will do anything to be good. Not just for the sake of Her Diamond. But also for the sake of her components. And for her own sake

Honestly, yeah, this'd be my ideal ending for Malachite as well. Her becoming the physical embodiment of reconciliation between two survivors traumatised from the culture they grew up in and the issues that caused for them both. I love how everyone is just so accepting of Mal, too. fr, Love this, such catharsis.

...so which one of us swam the Exarch back? Is that much crystal still able to float? I imagine he wasn't really buoyant. Actually...why am I asking this when I can just go on one of my weird shitposting mind twisters? Alright, so after a tiny bit of googling the most conductive crystal is quartz. So I am going to just assume G'raha was being slowly taken over by Blue Quartz. (Imaginative I know). So, the heaviest it gets it up to 11lbs. And the average weight of a human limb is between 8 - 11lbs on its own depending if its an arm or a leg. So his entire arm is now about 3 pounds heavier. But his feet look uncorrupted so, I am going to assume his legs are untouched. But his torso is another bag of worms, cause I think based on how quickly it began spreading betwen 5.2 - 5.3 from his chest, it had already began consuming him. So for the sake of argument Imma assume G'raha's abdomen and chest had begun turning. So the average chest cavity is like...55.1% of total body weight. He's an older male standing at...I dunno...5'5"? So ideally he'd be roughly 120 - 140lbs. Add on a solid quartz and I guess he'd come out weighing the additional 11 for his arm and...just gonna spit ball another 49lbs. So G'raha solidly should of been weighing roughly 180 - 200lbs of solid weight that is only like...maybe 75% buoyant and still flesh. We swam that anchor massed man from the bottom of the ocean to the surface...it might of been why Urianger fell behind from exhaustion and not being able to normally swim.

Is there any gem that you don't like?

I just hate all of the Uncorrupted Gems. Their characters are just so poorly explored! I wish we could have flashbacks of all of them. Be able to see the old crystal gems fighting the Gem War would be amazing!

Ya what everyone loved the most about the show was when they would introduce new types of gem characters. But since most of them were background characters a lot of their designs were simplified. I just wished angel aura quartz looked more vibrant.

Sameanon, I get the feeling of them sort of overusing the quartz's, they didn't bother to expand the history of characters or the other uncorrupted gems that were healed. It would have been nice to hear more about Nephrite

hi, you mentioned something about having problems with su in that stronger than you post. what would you say were your issues about the show?

putting this under a readmore and not putting it into the tags but I simply have a special interest in rocks and minerals and got really mad when I noticed this and keep getting mad about it repeatedly

mostly character design consistency, as stated in the tags of that post. and I'm. not getting into writing and plot stuff on tumblr bc I'm Not Risking inviting anything else in.

quartzes are all very similar body types apart from defects. ok! cool!

forgot to include an agate in the image but pretend one of them is there. also included jasper post corruption for a point later on.

the diamonds having different heights is fine. they all still have the same bodytype even if different faces. I can see the reasoning behind that.

not. doing an image for them rn. we know what the diamonds look like and if you don't remember, looking it up is free.

rubies and sapphires are both corrundum gems and are different.

but I don't have nearly as much of an issue with them, as they're similar Enough for me to not be bothered by as I do with the FUCKING BERYLS.

EVERY. SINGLE. BERYL. SEEN. FROM CONCEPT ART TO SHOW. IS FUCKING DIFFERENT. EVEN UNCORRUPTING A QUARTZ SHOWS THEY HAVE VERY SIMILAR BODY TYPES. BUT NOOOO BERYLS ARE ALL FFFUCKING DIFFERENT.

Aquamarine, Emerald, Bixbite, and Morganite are all beryls. And they all have almost completely different bodytypes and heights and shapes and roles. No other fucking class of gem is like this as far as I know. None.

and I'm not getting into how pretty much bixbite's only red is on her clothing when bixbite is red beryl bc that also pisses me off but it's a much more minor grievance.

EDIT: I understand the need to make characters stand out but like. that doesn't excuse the sheer RANGE beryls have

Prolouge: The Fallen

***This is the Prologue to my Steven Universe fanFic, Steven Universe: The Paladin of Rose Quartz, on WattPad. The story takes place after future and introduces an ancient human threat from the gem war to confront Steven and the Crystal Gems.

Deep within the confines of Rose's armory, the armor of the fallen stood lifeless; their gems in a distant and deep slumber, awaiting the day they are called back to the battlefield.

Pearl wandered atop the armory, holding the gem fragments of the living armors. She had long contemplated how to save the human souls which were contained within the fragments. They had been created during the gem war from hollow gems left behind in the deactivated kindergartens. 

However, in the aftermath of the war, these fragments of human life had become corrupted like their masters, leaving them with a mindless and uncontrollable desire for war. Anything to come into contact with these fragments would become possessed as the corrupted souls clung to life and sought the physical form they had lost. Pearl reminisced the time Steven naively placed one of the gems in a fry-suit. Oh, how simple things were back then she thought. 

The gems containing human souls lacked the powers of a normal gem. They could not manipulate light; thus, they could not create a physical form nor summon weapons, requiring them to be placed in armor to function. They did, however, possess one ability foreign to gems, the power to create organic matter as Frybo demonstrated. Pearl theorized this was likely related to the mixing of human life with gem magic.

Once the danger they posed was clear, Pearl had no choice but to seal them away in a bubble like so many of her comrades, a secret she had tried to share with Steven when he was young. 

Peal continued to think to herself as she paced around the armory. Steven was coming home from his trip next week and she considered the possibility he could help. After all, he had uncorrupted all the other gems with the help of the diamonds, but she was not sure he would be able to help him. Her mind turned to the thought of the heretic's anguish, a sarcophagus whose captive has been long forgotten by history. After she, Rose, and Garnet defeated the Heretic, they placed him within the device in hopes he could one day be saved. 

Pearl longed to free them all of their torment, but she knew the risks that could come from setting them free. What would they even do in a galaxy at peace when all they knew in their lives was war. Could they even be saved, or would they pose too large a threat to be worth the risk? Despite her concerns, Pearl remained resolved in her commitment to save them, it is what Rose would have wanted. She would ask Garnet when the time was right. Surely, she would have more answers.

The gem war had caused so much damage to not only her, but everyone she cared about. For a thousand years the gem war ravaged the earth, scarring generations of humans forced to witness the destruction wrought by the gems warring like gods above. But Pearl held out hope just as she had. It was through Rose Quartz and the Crystal Gems that humanity found its salvation and the winds of fate shifted in their favor. 

Before Steven brought peace to the galaxy, the Crystal Gems and humanity fought and sacrificed greatly to bring peace to the world. Pearl had been impressed by the humans as they formed the Order of Rose and followed the Crystal Gems in their war against the Diamond Authority. She held a special respect in her heart for the knights who dedicated themselves to the service of them. A service she had not forgotten. What Steven accomplished in just a few years took the combined effort of humanity, the crystal gems, and a millennium of warfare and ceaseless bloodshed that would drive most men mad, just to bring about a fleeting moment of peace on earth.

But as soon as it ended a new war began, as the world was engulfed in a blinding flash of light that filled the world with dread. 

One final last-ditch attack from the diamonds to destroy the earth, but lacking the power of their fourth sister, the attack failed to annihilate the world. Instead, something far crueler followed as the gems became corrupted, turning on their friends and allies. Pearl frowned at the mere thought. If it were not for Rose, she would have certainly been corrupted as well. Losing all sense of themselves, the corrupted carved a deep scar into earth as they destroyed civilizations in a ceaseless rampage. The Order of Rose was all but destroyed by the ensuing conflict as their former masters had been turned against them.

Rose, Pearl, and Garnet spent the last four millennia cleaning up the aftermath of the war, and when Steven was born the responsibility fell to him of no fault of his own. Pearl truly wished she could have done more to protect him, but she lacked the means and the strength to do so. 

While the war was finished, there would always be battles left to fight.
