The approach to soul bonds is something I haven't seen before and I really like that it's not just one type of soul bond, even between the twins.

I love how sassy Akaashi is in this too.

Haikyuu!! Couples vs. Sex

These are from headcanons I came up with on a Discord server for couples who probably aren’t into sex/rarely have sex-

SakuAtsu: Sakusa probably isn't really into sex, like, at all. There's a chance he might have a rare moment, like a special occasion or smth (weddings, honeymoons, that sort of stuff-) but pretty much never. He's really cautious when getting in a relationship and probably states that he's not all that into it on the first day, used to people breaking it off when they find out, so he just gives them a chance to get out while they can. Since I'm a huge simp for SakuAtsu, here we go. Atsumu is like rlly arrogant and everything, he's shown to be a little narcissistic, but he's not stupid. He's able to adapt if he wants to and loves setting to people who he thinks are powerful. When Sakusa tells him that he's probably asexual, but he's not too sure, Atsumu won't care about it. Sex isn't something important to him, because he's proved that he only cares about the more practical things. He's extroverted, in a cocky way of course, but when it comes down to it he only cares if the team he's in are willing to cooperate and put in their all. He saw how Hinata worked in a group and was excited to one day set for him, sure he was attracted to Hinata's personality as well, but it was the way he played that drew him in. So long as Sakusa is willing to put his all into this relationship, he doesn't care about sex, he just wants Sakusa to love him.

UshiTen: Tendou is like- kind of insecure of his body, so he avoids sex and sometimes even relationships in general with a passion. Ushijima sees no point in sex, he doesn't understand the attraction nor does he think it's important for a relationship, he's the kind of guy who is like 'no sex before marriage' but rather than in a religious way he just wants the moment to be special with someone he can settle down with. So this factor comforts Tendou when they get into a relationship. Maybe a year or so into the relationship, Tendou feels comfortable with telling Ushijima why he avoids sex, tells him about his insecurities and Ushijima decides to help Tendou. When they get married, Tendou may not be comfortable with sex in general, but he trusts and loves Ushijima enough that with him, he can. Ushijima is just happy that Tendou trusts him enough to do something not only intimate but also something neither have experienced. That might be the only time they ever have sex too ig-

KuroKen: Similar to Sakusa, Kenma isn’t really into sex, so when he told Kuroo about this, he was scared that he’d leave him. Kenma was probably shocked when Kuroo asked him out and just blurted out all his insecurities and reasons why he shouldn’t date him. Kuroo, on the other hand, didn’t care. He just wanted Kenma to love him, to be someone he could one day marry. After a lot of talking and convincing, Kenma finally decided to try it out, though still wary that Kuroo might leave him. Once a few months have passed he’ll finally relax and be comfortable with their relationship, which will make Kuroo a lot happier. At first Kenma will probably tense up whenever Kuroo gets touchy, but after a while they’ll be into a lot of PDA and their teammates will complain about it 24/7. They probably end up never having sex, but that’s okay for Kuroo because he has Kenma with him and that’s all that matters.

TsukkiYama: I honestly don’t see either of them being into sex. Tsukishima sees no point in it and Yamaguchi went from being insecure to just not into it. They’d be incredibly intimate, though not into a lot of PDA, but they’ve just never crossed that line. They’d sleep together naked, cuddled up against each other, but neither of them is bothered by it in a sexual way. They might’ve tried it once, or gotten close to it, but figured out that neither of them were interested in it and decided that it’s just not for them. They still kiss and everything, but they’ve never done it.

EnnoTana/KiyoTana: I feel like Tanaka isn’t interested in sex that much and depending on the situation he never gets aroused (sexually). Ennoshita and Kiyoko also don’t seem like the type to be too into sex. I feel like they’d have it on special occasions, but never anything more than that. I don’t really have anything else to say on these ships since I feel like that’s all that needs to be said. They express their love for each other in different ways, that’s all. Consent is hot-

OsaSuna: Suna isn’t a fan of using up his energy, unless it’s volleyball, so he seems like the type of person who doesn’t see the need for sex, he probably finds it a waste of time and energy. Osamu is probably kind of into it, but very rarely, kind of for the same reasons as Atsumu. They are twins after all- Suna would be fine with whatever Osamu wants and they probably only had sex once or twice.

AsaNoya: Asahi is afraid of hurting Noya- plus he’s a giant teddy bear. They have a very cuddly and touchy relationship, but I don’t see them being into sex. They might have it on special occasions as well.

DaiSuga: Rather than them not being into sex, they’re just too busy and even then, they don’t have it like every week or something.

KyouHaba: Similar to TsukkiYama, Kyoutani and Yahaba don’t have that much interest in the activity. Kyoutani may seem like a rabid dog half the time, but he’s comfortable just being with Yahaba in general. Yahaba is kind of like Ennoshita and Kiyoko in where he isn’t really interested in sex at all.

OiKen: Oikawa x Kenma :ooo Oikawa respects boundaries and if Kenma doesn’t want to have sex, then they don’t have sex.

UkaTake: They just.. don’t. They’re old- jk, they just want someone to settle down with at this point and don’t have the time nor interest for it.

TsukkiYamaYachi: Two soft, adorable babies and one salty human.. they’re just a very soft and fluffy ship in my opinion.

Sorry I couldn’t fit more ships in here, I either don’t ship them or don’t know that much about them to write it. That being said, I respect all ships and you should not be ashamed for who you ship with who. Unless it’s some shit like Ukai x Natsu or Osamu x Atsumu, then please don’t I-

As mentioned in a comment on your iwaoi story, which ships do you see as legitimately being canon? (a link for the silly geese who haven't read it yet)

For me, I honestly think bokuaka could be canon (we just need the confirmation </3). But for like iwaoi (I get really intense friendship vibes, but like so unabashedly proud and happy to be friends with the other person in canon) or kuroken (maybe like a heather situation, where one of them is in love, but the other isn't; but also, they really teeter on the edge for me) or other ships (I could go on forever), it's a bit more up in the air for me. I indulge and thoroughly enjoy all ship content, but I try to separate the two worlds of fandom and canon too.

I also think it's really easy to enjoy shipping. They're fictional men (thinking manga timeskip here), so it's kind of hard to self-ship (for me), but I want them to be happy in the romance department. Plus, when there are so few women and non-binary people in the show, naturally that shipping is gonna happen between *the bois*. (Although, based on all of the content we get, even with women, I'd still ship them all with their teammates.)

So yeah, I'm really curious about your thoughts on this jumbled mess about shipping and canon vs fanon, etc! Really enjoying your content, thanks for replying to my comments! :)

Hiiiii! Ffamran is a sideblog too, I followed bokashi on my hiatused chibimonkey main.

So tbh, given Japan’s general stance on homosexuality *side eye intensifies* I’d have to say regretfully nobody could be legitimately canon except Tanaka/Kiyoko the token heteroship. HOWEVER, some mangaka (looking at you, CLAMP and Yamaguchi Tsubasa!) dgaf about heteronorms and have written gorgeous and CANON LGBTQ+ characters, so it’s within the realm of possibility that Furudate-sensei intended some of her characters to be gay and maybe her editor or the magazine said “uh, fuck no?” because, I mean, have you READ the manga? Some of it’s pretty fucking gay.

My top 5 ships are the ones I could most likely see being canon: daisuga, iwaoi, kuroken, asanoya, and bokuaka. I’d also add kagehina to that. The evidence is just THERE.

Daichi and Suga are VERY close. They’re always shown together, were introduced together, have been referred to by Furudate-sensei as Karasuno’s parents, Daichi talks Suga up a ton, Suga is very physical with Daichi especially, etc etc. In one panel of the manga, Suga is literally slapping Daichi’s ass. (Under the #ffamran reads manga tag.) Like what? But they’re also the least in your face on this list.

Asanoya is just... a lot of what daisuga is but more obvious. Also introduced as a duo, usually around each other, physical, etc. Noya ONLY sets for Asahi (though once in the anime he set for Tanaka) - that’s HUGE. He learned to do this crazy fucking technique all to better ASAHI. He refuses to play without Asahi. At the very least, Noya is bisexual and has a thing for Asahi. PLUS they travel the GODDAMN WORLD together at the end of the manga.

Iwaoi might as well be official. There’s the whole Iwaizumi milk bread thing (like SERIOUSLY, how much more do you NEED?), the nicknames/name-calling/teasing, the constant touching, the complete trust and connection. Oikawa relies overtly on Iwa, and Iwa is constantly checking on and reassuring him. These two blatantly love each other.

Kuroken is another where at least one of them has a thing for the other. Kuroo is SMITTEN with Kenma. He’s constantly taking care of him, checking on him, monitoring his comfort. When he, Kai, and Yaku are discussing Kenma, Kuroo’s face is just so in LOVE with this fucking boy. Kenma is up in the air - he’s not as expressive as Kuroo, or as emotional. He keeps his feelings firmly inside. But I’d say it’s safe to assume he cares very deeply for Kuroo and loves him, and it’s a 50/50 toss up if it’s romantic love.

Bokuaka. Bro. At first I was gonna say “ehhhhh, it’s probably wishful thinking on our part,” but then I remembered: Akaashi decided to attend Fukurodani SOLELY because he saw Bokuto play. Bokuto honed the fuck in on him the day they met and basically staked his claim. These two embody the love at first sight trope and they are comfortably settled in a serious relationship. Why else does Akaashi know him so well, and vice versa? Akaashi made and MEMORIZED a list of Bokuto’s weaknesses, and knows exactly how to get him out of every slump, and Bokuto is intrinsically aware of when Akaashi’s at his limit, and pushes past his own weaknesses to support him at that time. Out of everyone, these two are the most likely to have started their relationship before the manga.

Kagehina. I watched the first episode (I saw the anime before I read the manga) and I distinctly remember my overall impression was “these two are gonna fuck, aren’t they?” They’re dumb. They’re SO fucking dumb, and I respect Furudate-sensei SO MUCH for making both her protagonists stupid as fuck. These two would be a vicious slow burn. They don’t get together during the manga. They’re too busy competing with each other. Their flirting is competition. They’re SO into each other beyond a normal friendly rivalry but they both think it’s just a friendly rivalry because they’re SO DUMB.

Honorable mention to Tsukiyama, because while these two are easy to write off as just good friends, there are very subtle hints that they may be more than, the biggest being Tsukki’s distaste if anyone but Yamaguchi calling him Tsukki (and Yamaguchi hates when other people say it too) and their “tough love” type of support for each other. They seem to be a very private couple, if they were intended as such.

Also: Yachi. Yachi is CLEARLY a lesbian.

It could also be argued that Ushiten was hinted at being canon, since Tendou clearly loves Ushiwaka. It’s not a ship I like but I very easily see why it’s a popular ship. I think I posted about it before somewhere, but the tl;dr of it is Tendou is ALL OVER Ushiwaka. Supports him 1000% in the face of anyone and everyone, clings to him (not physically, but like... emotionally?) at school, and just everything he does is FOR Ushiwaka. Like, did Ushiwaka even have friends before Tendou started talking to him? And Ushiwaka softens around Tendou, becomes more human and likeable. He doesn’t act that way around anyone else. They might just be the bromance to end all bromances, or one of them has a crush, or maybe they do love each other - their relationship is ambiguous in that regard. But I will add: Ushiwaka did fly all the way to France to see Tendou, and I don’t see anyone else (except Asanoya) making worldwide trips for each other.

#those are the most plausible imo #that’s why they’re also the most popular #you could also put Ukai/ittetsu here but I see that more in the anime than the manga #haikyuu

Haikyuu Ships

(And which one is more protective/possessive, in a cute way)

Kagehina - Kageyama, duh.

Tsukkiyama - Prolly Yams, he’s so baby, we would be so protective of his big tall frenchfry boyfriend, especially with all those girls who only talk to him about said frenchfry.

Ennotana - Tanaka, if you look at that feral child and don’t see JEALOUSY written across his face, in any situation where his significant other is flirted with, you’re wrong.

KinoNari (Is that it?) - Prolly Kinoshita, Idk, they don’t have a lot of character development, but I love them.

Asanoya - Noya, absolutely, this man would see a girl giggle and reach for Asahi’s arm, and climb that Ace like a tree to tell her to f**k off.

Daisuga - Suga, for sure, he knows that his boyfriend is hit and he wants everyone to know and appreciate it, but the second some random bitch come and touch what isn’t her’s, he riots. In the most passive-aggressive and horrifying way possible.

KinKuni (Again, is that it?) - Kindaichi, I don’t think I need to explain this one, it seems pretty obvious to me, but for similar reasons to Tanaka.

Kyouhaba - Kyoutani, once again, duh. Yahaba is friendly and he talks to people, and Kyoutani doesn’t like it when people smile too bright at his HIS boyfriend.

MatsuHana - I think Makki... I mean, he seems like he would see Matsukawa shakin hands with some girl, laughing, and scratching the back fo his head, and appear behind him to flash them the 😃 “Hop of my mans” smile.

Iwaoi - Oikawa, if I have to explain myself, we watched different anime.

LevYaku - Hottake- Lev is SUPER possessive. Like, he’ll see Sugawara and Yaku hug, as they have for a WHILE and get super jealous for NO reason because that’s his tiny firecracker boyfriend, no touchy. And it’s strange for him, cause he’s not a jealous person, but Yaku brings out this new side of him.

Kuroken - Kenma. I know that he would often be distracted by his game, but he’s aware, he would realise, and he would talk, he would just walk over, shove Kuroo’s hands out of his way and plant himself either in front of him or in his lap, in an establishment of property.

Bokuaka - Akaashi, same as Suga, he knows his boyfriend is hot, unlike Suga, he doesnt care, that is his hot man, and he doesn’t care if you were being friendly, that smile was a bit too nice, he will immediately steal Bokuto’s attention and leave you in the dust.

Idk how popular this shop is, but I love it. IMAGIEN THEM.

Kogagoshi - Goshiki is SO possessive, and clingy, if they’re out together he will latch onto Koganegawa’s arm and let it be known that this is his tall adorable boyfriend, and he is willing to throw hands over it.

Semishira - Oh you KNOW it’s Shirabu. This bitch will glare at you if you even glance at Semi out of conversation. If you turn around and your eyes linger for even a second too long, you’re done.

Ushiten - Here me out, Ushiwaka. Like, imagine he’s not used to the feeling of protectiveness, it’s strange, he’s not used to loving anything or anyone this much, the only other part of his life he dedicates this much time and effort to are Volleyball, so he’s confused. But one day, out of the blue, someone is complimenting Tendou’s hair and reaching out to touch it and he grabs their wrist, tells them to go away because “That’s his boyfriend.”

SakuAtsu - Pretty obviously, Atsumu. He’s the kind of person to appear behind Sakusa and Sangwoo stare them away.

Sunaosa - Suna is more possessive, actually. He’s really chill and sweet, but that’s only if he has at least one visible indicator that Osamu is his boyfriend. Because otherwise he’s cold and rude and is like that until Osamu explains their relationship.

Kiyoyachi - Niether actually, they’re both deafest on showing they are comfortable in their relationship and with their partner, so they don’t really get jealous, but Kiyoko is def more protective of the smol bean that is Yachi.

Last but not least

Ukatake - Takeda. He’s similar to Suga, he knows his boyfriend is hot, recognize it, but that’s his man, keep yo granny little fingers off.

I just finished watching Haikyuu season 3 and I have SO MUCH Shiratorizawa feels, so can I ask you for your Shiratorizawa ships? And can you write a ficlet for any one? Preferably with Shirabu, because he needs more love. Thanks!

The thing about alwayswinning is that it means you don’t know how to lose.

Not, Tendou thinks,that they always won; but they always won in Regionals and that seems tomake a difference in the atmosphere. And while he’s sure that no one likeslosing, he feels like it is slightly different when it’s a school likeShiratorizawa. Because it’s never just a loss, when you’re champions.It’s the fact that you’ve failed everyone who came to support you (and there’san awful lot of people who come to support you, when you’re champions). It’sthe fact that you failed your own history—you carry the weight of everyteam of winners that came before you to know you broke that tradition ofexcellence. You haven’t just failed this team, you’ve failed the whole school.

And the worstthing about losing when you always won before is that everyone else isincredibly happy to watch you fall.

So yes, Tendou thinks,it is by far worse to lose when you are a championship team.

It must be so muchworse to lose when you are a champion.

“Has anyone talked toUshijima?” Shirabu asks.

The others, they’vespent a great deal crying, either with each other or when they think no one islooking.

“We let him down, Idon’t think I can face him,” Goshiki says.

It’s hard on the FirstYears, because they can’t help but think Shiratorizawa always won before theybecame starters. It’s hard for the Third Years too, Tendou thinks. For obviousreasons. The Second Years will probably make it out OK.

“And besides, thesekinds of things wouldn’t keep him down for long,” Ohira says. “It’s Ushijimawe’re talking about. Nothing keeps that guy down for long.”

“Still…” Shirabu says.

“You could go talk tohim,” Semi points out.

“It’s the Captain,”Goshiki says. “That’s not—we couldn’t—”

That was the weirdthing about Ushijima. People were in awe of him, so they didn’t like talking tohim. Tendou always thought that was slightly odd, since they called hima monster, and didn’t like talking to him either. It’s seems it doesn’t matterif people like you or hate you, if you’re a monster or a champion—if you’re toodifferent you’re on your own.

“So how are youholding up in your first loss?” Tendou asks. Because he’s the only one who canask. Not because they’re close, but because he’s the only one who would dare.

(Tendou kind of likesbeing the only one who dares).

“It was not my firstloss,” Ushijima replies, almost by rote, as if he is speaking the logical andmemorized lines.

“But it wasdifferent,” Tendou says. “This time.”

“Losing is neverpleasant,” Ushijima says.

Less, when you’re achampion, Tendou thinks. Less when everyone can look at you and whisper, Iguess he’s only human after all or He’s not that great or I’mkind of glad he lost.

He’s heard thewhispers. Surely Ushijima has too.

Impulsively, Tendouleans in and kisses him. He presses his lips against Ushijima’s and leaves themthere for a good long while before pulling away.

“What was that for?”Ushijima asks, looking no different than he had five seconds before the kisstook place.

“For comfort,” Tendousays.

“I do not needcomforting,” Ushijima says.

“Oh, I meant for me,”Tendou says cheerfully. “I lost too, you know? I needed the comfort.”

“I see,” Ushijima says. And they leave it at that.

And when we saw the extra UshiTen content in the manga after Shiratorizawa lost, I was hookeddddd.  • my thoughts: 😍👏🏼👀👀👅💦  • What makes me happy about them: Tendou calls himself Ushijima’s true friend and I honestly think that’s so beautiful that they have that kind of friendship and wish it was something more. 😭 • What makes me sad about them: That there’s not enough content with the two of them! My thirsty self needs more!!  • things done in art/fic that annoys me: The only thing I can think of is when Ushi is too OOC in fanfic, but other than that the majority of UshiTen content I’ve seen is 👌🏼!!!  • things I look for in art/fic: I adore otaku Tendou and Ushi being the quiet, supportive lover like “I don’t get this at all but it makes Tendou happy so I’ll just nod in agreement.”

A lovely getting together story. I’m not usually into canon compliant stories but this is absolutely wonderful. The characterization of everyone is perfect and the kuroken makes my heart ache. Kenma and Kuroo care about each other so much and it seems like they know everything about the other, but they don’t. I love that it reinforces the fact that communication is very important, even if you’ve known someone your entire life there’s still things you can learn about them. However this piece also shows that Kuroo and Kenma do know a great deal about each other and that can be a huge comfort for them, or lead to problems when you wanna go the avoidance route. The pacing is great, even if I just want to smush their lips together, and I thrive off of the conflicts. Also great Nekoma bonds which is a huge plus.

The concept that the story revolves around is very interesting. I really love how the romance developed. This packs quite the emotional punch and honestly I teared up a bit just typing this out. // i’m a little behind on this fic but nevertheless it never fails to excite me when i see an update. the whole cast is there, the character interactions are refreshing, the magic is unsettling yet fascinating, the worldbuilding is definitely intriguing. i’m always on the edge of my seat wondering, what’s next?
