Bittersweet - Sugar, Vanilla & Cocoa
Sims can now grow the raw resources for proper sugar, chocolate, and vanilla production. They can take items from their initial raw states to finished products to be used for stocking fridges, selling for profit, or as ingredients in other crafting stations. Please read the manual and see below the cut for more information.
Download - SFS
View Use/Instruction Manual
Sugar Production: Sims will grow Sugarcane and then process it by chopping, mangling, and boiling harvested sugarcanes down to dried granulated sugar and sticky molasses. Fields require no maintenance but do require fertilizer and are growable all year. The processor itself, sims will move about the table and to the pot as they go through processing steps.
Chocolate Production: Tropical Cocoa Trees are harvested of their Cocoa Pods. Once pods are obtained the nibs inside can be roasted over fire to dry and finish them off. These roasted nibs can then even be ground into Cocoa Powder with the Spice of Life Grinders.
Vanilla Production: Tropical Vanilla Vines are harvested of their Fresh Vanilla Beans. Once beans are obtained they need to dry and sweat in a rack until brown in color. These Aged Vanilla Beans can then even be ground into Vanilla Powder with the Spice of Life Grinders.

The lady who drove Mom and I to the funeral a week-ish ago is devoutly Muslim, and I offered to bake her cookies as a thanks for the ride, and she was like, oh, thank you! As long as there's no lard or alcohol of course
And I'm like, oh yeah, no problem! I use butter, and I'll double-check to be sure all the other ingredients are halal
Y'all. I am so dumb.
I use vanilla extract, which is made with ALCOHOL
And it's a small amount that wouldn't cause intoxication so some less strict Muslims would be okay with it but this lady, as I mention, is VERY devout
So I had to send Jon to Bulk Barn to buy some vanilla beans that are not in any way treated with alcohol
Baking cookies with these should be a fun experiment

Steven’s favorite tea?🤔 Or all their fave beverages
STEVEN DRINKS LONDON FOGS CHANGE MY MIND (you can’t). also nonny you have opened up a whole WORLD of hc my dear so pls buckle up.
(yes i will be including the moob knife* coffee order breakdown in this ask)
First and foremost- Steven’s fav tea depends on what he has laying around in his flat. he strikes me as the type to purchase large amounts of tea in bulk and can throw things together to make his drinks yummy no matter his ingredients list. The only time he gets the same drink over and over is when he orders from tea/coffee shops. I can see Steven drinking any kind of white tea with honey.
I don’t think he’s as big a coffee person as he is a tea person, but when Steven does drink coffee i think he takes it black with maybe a little bit too much brown sugar and he is a little snooty about the beans (aka he enjoys buying his coffee from a fancy-schmancy roastery).
Tumblr media
Marc’s coffee addiction is through the roof tho- and tbh same could be said for Jake’s (jake is just much more subtle about it). Marc drinks any kind of coffee from anywhere, any time no questions asked. he hates it black but will down most of the whole thing in one go if he can, just for the caffeine. Fav kinda coffee tho ? Marc likes it sweet. You know the whole ‘one coffee, black as my soul’ and the barista hands over a ridiculously all-frills-included sweet caramel oatmilk extra whip add chai and vanilla iced latte light ice extra sprinkles (or alt: white chocolate mocha three pumps raspberry extra whip made with half & half) ?? that’s Marc’s favourite coffee drink. It’s also really funny to me okay sjfkfjsbf. (Will go over Moob Knife’s drink order at the end*)
Jake likes hot cocoa. he likes warm apple cider or wassil or hot lemon water with honey. he’s the type o’ guy that actually finds comfort in questions like ‘can i get you glass of warm milk’ (weirdo. ((affectionate)). To Jake Lockley, any warm beverage is a comfort beverage . coffee isn’t usually considered in the same category (even if it’s a hot drink) bc for Jake, caffeine is fuel in the tank. he’s probably the only one out of the three of them that doesn’t give a fuck what his coffee tastes like as long as he can chug it (marc swears he’s the same but if his coffee isn’t sweet asf he won’t finish it).
Now. the Moob Knife* order.
Tumblr media
i broke down his order in the moon moots gc a while back but for Reasons im including it here bc i can and no one cans top me .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sorry this might’ve gotten out of hand. ksjfxlsjdkfjd.

For Veganuary, some of my favorite vegan foods!
As a general rule, I use canned or frozen veggies in all of these. They’re cheaper, they last longer, and you don’t have to do any chopping (which is especially convenient when it comes to onions). The only exceptions are mushrooms and potatoes.
Rice!
I cook it with veggie broth (or a vegan chicken flavored broth), garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
Before I set it to simmer, I dump in a bag of frozen veggies (I like mixed veggies or spinach) or fresh veggies (I like mushrooms) and throw in a can of chickpeas for good measure
Right after it’s done, I stir in some vegan cheese if I have it. I usually do about a cup of cheese when I make a big pot and that’s plenty.
Dirty Rice
Pasta!
To stretch mac and cheese, melt some vegan butter in the pot, add your unsweet dairy free milk, then add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and whatever seasonings you want. Bring it to a boil and then whisk in enough flour to get it to a gravy-like consistency. then add your dairy free cheese--you’ll only need half as much.
Garlic Butter Pasta
Chickpea “Tuna” Casserole
Alfredo
I like to add red bell pepper or spinach to a mozzarella mac and cheese; peas or meatless crumbles to a cheddar mac and cheese.
For tomato sauce, I just use a can of crushed tomato with salt, garlic and onion powder, italian seasoning, and a bit of balsamic vinegar. Spinach and mushrooms go well with this, too.
Some of my top recipes
Biscuit Topped Chickpea Pot Pie (takes a while but so worth it!)
Tabbouleh (I usually add chickpeas to make it heartier)
Corn Fritters (I just throw in whatever veggies I have on hand)
Biscuits and Gravy (I usually add some fake sausage to the gravy to make it more filling)
Split Pea Soup
Hummus and Pita (This isn’t real pita, but it’s close and much easier. Of course you can always just buy it at the store, too.)
Potato Wedges
Refried Bean Burgers
Burritos (No recipe, but I fill mine with refried beans, spanish rice--the little knorr packets are vegan!--taco sauce, and mexican style dairy free cheese)
Nachos (No recipe, but I top mine with black beans, a vegan cheese sauce, salsa, and black olives)
Pancakes
Desserts are easy--just sub out dairy-free milk and dairy-free butter. Or search for vegan versions of your favorites!
Cinnamon Rolls
Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls
Orange Rolls
Sprinkle Sugar Cookies
Rolled Sugar Cookies
Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Vanilla Pudding
Chocolate Pudding
Lots of stovetop pudding mixes are vegan--just use non-dairy milk!
Vanilla Cake
Chocolate Cake
Coffee Cake
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Banana Nice Cream
Frozen Pineapple Whip
Vegan Egg Substitutes for Baking
Cheese - I buy raw cashews in bulk from foodtolive--shipping is free, tax is included, and the price is very reasonable. I eat cashew cheese every day so I usually get the 7lb bag and keep it in the bottom of my fridge.
Easy Cheese Sauce (no cashews)
Go-to Cashew Cheese (This is a great base! Sometimes I add tomato paste and hot sauce for a buffalo cheese, or sometimes I go heavy on the lemon juice and add dried dill and parsley).
Pimento Cheese
Sundried Tomato Cheese

Character Intro: Philia (Kingdom of Ichor)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nicknames- Lia by her friends and family
Age- 12 (immortal)
Location- Hearthwood neighborhood, New Olympus
Personality- She's socially oriented, outgoing, charismatic, & personally gregarious. She finds it rather easy to jump from one social group to another. On the other hand, she can be quite emotionally immature at times- finding herself becoming quickly attached to almost anyone new she meets.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of friendship her other powers/abilities include limited photokinesis, limited aura manipulation, & friendship manipulation- the ability to create and manipulate bonds of friendship in people, beings, & animals.
Philia is the second oldest child of Pathos (god of emotion) and also another mortal to be elevated to godhood by apotheosis. For as long as she can remember, she's been a part of the department of family & children services. Lia was given up as a newborn and has no knowledge of her birth parents. She's been shuffled from family to family- the hopes of becoming a permanent member of one seemingly out of reach. Lia would sometimes have major emotional outbursts whenever it was time to leave a family. When news came to her of finally becoming adopted, she quickly jumped at the chance! Lia describes hugging her father for the first time as "coming home."
She now lives with her family- her father & siblings Philautia (goddess of self love), Xenia (goddess of hospitality), and little brother Storge at their home in the Hearthwood neighborhood of New Olympus.
Lia's bedroom is covered in floor-to-ceiling wallpaper that has a pattern of bright blue, yellow, & green butterflies. There's also a reading nook, string lights, a trundle bed, and brightly painted dressers that's always decorated with vases filled with fresh flowers.
She loves whenever her dad has time to make breakfast- enjoying his fluffy buttermilk pancakes (which she drowns in honey), scrambled eggs (added with feta cheese & onions), bacon, and warm buttery tiropsomo. Lia's usual go-to breakfast is a bowl of Golly Grains cinnamon crunch cereal along with a cup of Earthly Harvest vanilla yogurt (topped with lemon jam).
Lia is a HUGE fan of scrapbooking. She has a small collection of scrapbooks in her closet with one of them being filled with pictures of previous foster families.
A go-to drink for her is the homemade hibiscus iced tea her father makes. She also likes berry mix juice, coconut water, lemonade, and cream soda. She also likes the rainbow milkshake from The Frozen Spoon as well as a small iced tea from The Roasted Bean.
Lia is a frequenter of a craft store in downtown New Olympus where she buys lanyard string by the bulk. She can do various designs with her favorite being using the lanyard string to make intricate friendship bracelets.
Her favorite thing to get from The Bread Box is the gourmet grilled cheese sandwich along with honey barbeque sweet potato chips.
Lia has a great relationship with her family. She appreciates the fact that her dad looks up how to do hairstyles (even if he fails at them). She thinks that her big sis Philautia is the most beautiful being she's ever seen & appreciates her passing down her knowledge and artistry of make-up. Her and Xenia often go to the library together & she's always showering Storge with kisses.
She loves snacking on roasted pumpkin seeds.
Lia will usually wear her hair in twist outs, ponytails, pigtails, and various braiding styles (done professionally at a salon). When doing her hair on her own she loves using the Glory's Crown twist elongating styling cream, the goddess strength edge control gel, & the ambrosia honey pomade.
A favorite frozen treat of hers is the berry mix sorbet (made with strawberries, blueberries, & raspberries). She always gets an olympian sized cup at The Frozen Spoon.
Lia is a pretty good academic student- particularly excelling in literature, biology, and Old Greek language class. At school she doesn't belong to one social group. She effortlessly moves from one clique to another. Lia's especially cool with Deucalion (son of the Titan god Prometheus), several daughters of the Titaness Selene like Achelois (goddess of the moon & comfort), and even the sixth graders E.B & Krysothemis- kids of Karmanor (demi-god of the harvest), who's a family friend.
Two of her most favorite desserts are her dad's flan and the red velvet muffins from Hollyhock's Bakery.
When she turns sixteen (the legal age of adulthood in Olympius) she'll be able to access the records about her birth parents.
In the pantheon Lia admires Thalia (muse of comedy); loves watching her videos on PanopTube, Eudaimonia (goddess of happiness); was estatic to learn that she'd be her mentor, Hestia (goddess of the hearth), Iris (goddess of the rainbow), Karme (demi-goddess of the harvest), Leto (Titaness of demurity & motherhood), and Kéfi (goddess of mirth).
It's no surprise that she's on the hunt for a new mother. Lia tagged along with her older sister in helping their father create a profile for a dating app.
She's also friends with the kids in a family of mortals who are the next door neighbors at the vacation home in Mykonos.
In her free time Lia enjoys doing lanyard, basketball, playing video games, listening to music (her faves being M9, Eurydice, & Summerstar), reading (her fave being comic books), jump rope, bike riding, roller skating, football (soccer), cooking, baking, drawing, and spending time with friends & family.
Her all time favorite meal is her dad's spanokopita-style baked mac n' cheese along with grilled chicken.
"Friends are the family you choose."

Indonesian Planifolia Extract Grade-B Vanilla Beans
Tumblr media
Dark brown in colour, great for baked goods, our vanilla beans contain concentrated vanilla flavour and aroma. The extract can be made through the infusion process following our recipe. Not every vanilla pod is of equal quality. So, if you are looking for high-quality beans, you have found the right page. Buy grade B Ugandan vanilla beans (also referred to as extract beans), the ideal vanilla bean used for making complex vanilla extract. The earthy, chocolate undertones of these vanilla beans from Tahitian are a flavour bomb waiting to get mixed into your favourite recipes. Split, scrap, chop, however, you like to make a vanilla extract or vanilla powder is up to you, but we would suggest you try these vanilla beans while doing so. You may have heard about Madagascar or Ugandan vanilla beans, but have you tried Tahitian extract grade B vanilla beans? Add a little sustainable vanilla diversity to your life with high-quality vanilla beans from Tahitian. Apart from a profound flavourful homemade vanilla extract - Tahitian vanilla beans are used in muffins, tarts, desserts, fruit pies, and pastries.

Izuku <1> Izuku LOVES horror. His favorite thing to read that isn't hero-related is horror novels. All his top movies consist of horror movies. He's especially a fan of psychological horror. <2> Izuku shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are all from the same company, so they all have the same smell/scent: vanilla bean. <3> After Mina introduces Izuku to the pure ecstasy that is skirts, he buys some of his own and wears them in his dorm room. He likes how airy and flowy they feel.
Uraraka <1> Uraraka knows a bunch of really cool, hole-in-the-wall cafes and restaurants that are pretty cheap but have absolutely DELICIOUS food. <2> Uraraka and Kirishima work out together often. Kirishima helps her with bulking up and building muscle, while Uraraka helps Kirishima out with his martial arts skills. <3> Uraraka absolutely HATES touching slimy, gooey things. It makes her want to throw up.
Bakugou <1> Bakugo is self conscious about his hands. Seeing as they've been defined as deadly weapons, he's noticed that people fear his hands. The thought of giving/recieving physical affection is one Bakugo gave up on a long time ago. <2> Bakugo is a writer. He has secret journals/online documents filled with short stories, poems, novels, etc. He's also the first to discover that people write fan fiction about him and his classmates. <3> Bakugo is a sucker for indie/alternative music. Some artists that appear often in his playlist often include Mitski, Conan Gray, Vance Joy, and Tate McRae.

Is my body like subconsciously kicking into recession mode bc my peasant genes are prepared for a famine or something? Stg my brain just keeps saying “hey you wouldn’t have to buy that if you could make it” lol so today I will be attempting ice cream and I bought a bulk size of yeast finally and I also ordered some vanilla beans so I can make extract.

My grocery list
I’m putting my grocery list in a blog post so that others can get a specific picture of how the things I buy help save me money and simplify my life. You may notice that some things are in odd categories-I’m not a nutritionist. Also, you’ll probably notice that there is very few premade items, mostly sauces. Hope it is somewhat interesting. There is a copy and paste-able list at the bottom. I have also written a blog post with recipes I commonly use these ingredients in.
Meat
I buy meats that have multiple uses. My regulars are: flank steak, chicken thighs, ground beef (80/20), eggs, and fish. I use flank steak because it is lean and a good cut, but still inexpensive. I like chicken thigh because they are less expensive and more moist than breasts, but just as versatile a protein. Ground beef is good for tacos, burgers, and adding to dishes. I like 80/20 because it isn’t too dry to cook on its own and it is cheaper. Eggs are a great source of easy protein and fairly inexpensive. The kind of fish I get depends on the prices. I always look at the prices so I know when there’s a deal. I don’t buy if there are no deals. I like fish, but it can be very pricey. Especially for meat I would recommend going to a Costco business center or Chef Store. I buy in bulk and portion it into reusable bags.
Veggies and fruits
Staples: Avocado, Banana, Tomato, Romaine, Apple (Fuji or Gala), Potato, Garlic, Onion, Brussel Sprouts, Asparagus, Broccoli (frozen), Peas (frozen), Corn (frozen)
Variable: Sweet potato, Blueberries, Grapes, Raspberries, Mango, Cauliflower, Zucchini, Spaghetti Squash, Mushrooms, Sweet Peppers, Carrots, Turnips
Seasonal/Occasional: Ginger, Cherries, Grapefruit, Watermelon, Artichoke, Celery, Pineapple
Spices
Spices accumulate over time and do not need to be purchased frequently. I will list them according to how important/versatile I think they are.
Staples: Cumin, Paprika, Thyme, Rosemary, Salt, Pepper, Cinnamon, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder
Good to have: Turmeric, Fennel, Nutmeg, Cloves, Chili Powder, Cayenne, Red Pepper, Parsley, Chives, Oregano, Sage, Montreal Steak Seasoning, Sesame Seeds
Used sparingly: Cardamom, Seasoned Salt
Carbs
I don’t eat wheat-it just disagrees with me. I substitute pastas with mung bean noodles. We eat a lot of tacos with corn tortillas. I occasionally use rice. I keep walnuts, pecans, almonds, cashews, peanuts (in-shell), and sunflower seeds on hand for snacking, adding to salads, and grinding up to make breadings.
Sauces
I have a lot of sauces since they keep well. Those include, but are probably not limited to: ketchup, mustard (deli, yellow, sometimes honey), mayo, soy, oyster, Worchester, A1, peanut, sweet chili, tapatio, crystal, lemon juice, lime juice, teriyaki, BBQ, jelly, peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla flavoring,
Oils and vinegar
Avocado oil for high heat, olive oil for not so hot, coconut oil, lard for seasoning the cast iron, balsamic (which I also make a glaze from), apple cider vinegar. I keep white vinegar under the sink for cleaning and crafts.
Dairy
Heavy whipping cream is delicious and can be used in anything calling for milk-watered down if necessary, but milk cannot be whipped. Occasionally fancy cheese for cheese and meats date nights. Dried non-fat milk. Sour cream. Greek yogurt-plain or honey flavor. Butter.
Canned/jarred
Soups, tuna, spam (for musubi), beans (black and refried), enchilada sauce, spaghetti sauce, artichoke hearts, pickles, jalapenos, olives (black and green/Kalamata)
Other
Corn starch, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, bouillon, tortilla chips, salsa
I just replace these things as they run out. It is a diverse enough list to make many recipes, but small enough that it isn’t too costly nor strenuous to maintain. As I run out of things, I add it to my list. When the list is long enough, or has items that are of greater importance, I go shopping.
Just Lists
Staples:
