Recent claims from British Columbia’s BC United Party are misrepresenting the nature of funds received by a BC-based drug user advocacy group Drug User Liberation Front.

DULF was one of many organizations that received funding from Vancouver Coastal Health in 2022. 

BC United issued a press release regarding the funds received by DULF which was itself based on an earlier Global News article about the funding, claiming the BC NDP was helping “organized crime” to “purchase illicit drugs from the dark web.”

The Global News article claims that they had “obtained documents” regarding the funding, however, those documents are publicly available to everyone on the VCH website.

The article claims DULF received the funding “to operate what the group calls a “’compassion club’ selling heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine.” 

However, experts as well as the government say this claim is off-base.

This is just straight up stigma about drugs and substance use. Not only are the Global News article and BC United statement full of misinformation, their true goal is to deny funding that goes to support and advocacy for people who use substances.

These people are trying to create a moral panic around people who use drugs to try to deny them support and advocacy, and they aren't even trying to deny their hatred and lack of compassion.

Removing this funding would only increase the already harmful marginalization of people who use substances.

VCH piercing advice (nobody asked edition)

Hey y’all. So I got my VCH piercing in August of last year. My piercings are NOTORIOUS for taking forever to heal and giving me a hard time. It took about 4 months to fully heal. I tried the Christina in the past, but my anatomy isn’t great for this piercing (fat poon poon energy). It ended up causing me pain so I took it out, thankfully before it completely rejected and left a horrible scar. Here is some advice that I would give anyone wanting this piercing. I am not a piercer, so obviously take their advice prior to listening to mine.

1. Visit a reputable shop. Your anatomy may differ and you’ll need a piercer that is incredibly experienced in genital piercings to make you aware of any possible issues and difficulties with healing. Quality jewelry comes from quality shops, and that always helps too.

2. I would pee before. Not because it hurts or anything to pee after, but because I was legit scared and held mine in for 3 hours after out of fear. Also, be prepared to wipe your lady bits differently.

3. Refrain from waxing until healed / shaving until 2 months post piercing. I don’t need to shave or wax often, as I’ve been getting waxed consistently since 19 and shawty is BALD now basically. Shaving products irritated it, and I didn’t even think that my products were that “all up in it” if you will.

3. NO FEMININE WASHES NEAR IT until it has healed. I used cetaphil gentle skin cleanser, as recommended by my piercer, and experienced no changes to my Ph balance. I used my lil summers eve on it ONE time and learned my lesson.

4. Cotton panties only!! I don’t know WHY this works for me, all I know is that I experience more irritation with panties made of other materials.

5. Be prepared not to use pads /: I use menstrual discs. Even scented panty liners may be an irritant.

6. I would SOAK with saline, rather than spray directly on ur bits. Soak a paper towel and only cover the piercing, apply pressure for a few seconds at a time.

7. No sex, NO ORAL while it heals. It hurts, for real.

good news babies! I don't have to get the piercing redone...at least not yet.

if you missed it, I have been mumbling anxiously in tags/a few asks about being concerned w my piercings placement. and tbf, it is indeed lower than a lot of the vch photos one sees online - more like midway up the hood instead of further towards the top.

what happened was, there was some initial swelling after the piercing. as the swelling went down, more of the bar was exposed, making me mildly panic that the piercing was way too low - nope! just the swelling room.

I thought that there wasn't enough skin there or it would rip too easy...luckily it was just the extra long bar vis a vis the mid-hood placement fooling my eyes.

so. no need to repierce, unless I decide for comfort/aesthetic that I want it redone higher in the future. my piercer changed the jewelry to something shorter, and it looks way better. she said there was more than enough skin there for it to be secure!

I'm gonna try to post pics once my cunt looks uh, normal again lol. I'll happily expand on the weirdness going on if people are interested in the healing process, but for this quick update I don't wanna expand unless there's definitely interest.

so: AMA about anything regarding healing, and also, if anyone knows of a good off Tumblr site I can post pics anonymously to, please lmk! I'd like to be able to show more of myself without risking termination. ladies.exposed was my go to, but it's now down :/
