Hey can we not look down on and yell at scared trans people leaving places that are criminalizing them and their care?
Its cool if you can stay and want and are able to risk YOUR safety for a political statement, but you can't demand that of others.
Its very understandable if you CAN'T leave and don't want your friends that support you leaving, but again- this is a serious threat and you can't demand other at-risk people to sit in danger with you lets they be Problematic and not thinking of social justice optics or whatever.
Its great if someone stays for solidarity, but demanding this of some trans person who needs gender affirming care to not be suicidal whos neighbors made Threats so they left is. Not Actually Helping The Situation.
For anyone in places like these that are trying to leave and feeling guilty about it: You are protecting yourself. You are thinking of your own safety and needs. This is not wrong and you should not be shamed for it.

I mean this with every fiber of my being but whoever was in charge of designing the “ghouls” for the Fallout tv show should be jailed and given a life sentence with no chance of parole
Tumblr media
Look at how they massacred my beautiful ghouls! Deadpool looks more ghoulish than him! There isn’t a wrinkle on this mfs body! This is just a man who lost his nose!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The writers are cowards for not giving us gross looking ghouls!
Edit: y’all can stop saying it’s not the writers fault, I got it

You know what I love about Avatar? Especially in the second movie? Is that despite how domestic it got with the family element becoming a massive plot point in the new story, they never made Jake and Neytiri's realtionship to completely different, as if all of a sudden even on a different planet with different cultures and societal expectations they somehow managed to become the dream family with a husband wife and 2.5 kids. Neytiri wasn't domesticated by Jake if anything she got more wild and feral. There aren't many human traits that the kids carry over from Jake and they aren't living like normal. They live like Na'vi and I really like that

So I'm thinking about the line "The warmest hello, to the coldest goodbye." again for a number of reasons.
Because when Curt says goodbye to Owen- when he shoots him. When Owen dies. Curt's goodbye to Owen, that's the coldest goodbye to him. Any goodwill between the two of them has been severed. Even if Owen lived there was no way of fixing that bond. He betrayed his partner- called him weak. Tortured him. That's the coldest goodbye for Curtwen.
But for us? As an audience? Well, coming back to rewatch SAF after Wayward Guide, where it's been established that Chimera took over the world. That Curt couldn't stop them. That Owen died for practically nothing.
It feels. Cold.
Upon the first viewing of SAF, we feel a sense of optimism. That Curt's gonna stop Chimera. Everything will work out. But upon the rewatch after Wayward Guide.. there is no optimism. The whole ending for the show just feels bitter.
We say goodbye to the heroes knowing that they're not gonna succeed. They're gonna go through all that trouble for nothing. Chimera's gonna become too big to stop. It all ends on an inevitably unhappy ending.
And that my friend, for us as an audience, is the coldest goodbye. An improper conclusion. Saying goodbye, despite knowing that the big corporation will take over. And there is no hope.

Still tryna figure out how Tumblr works but I must say this...
You're responsible for a whole second Hatchetfield AU in my brain and I'm going to curse you with the mental image of Starkid/tin can bro's other shows being legit shows in the Hatchetfield universe.
Spies are forever. As a weekly soap opera. That Ted and Tinky watch on the couch with popcorn or icecream. And absolutely quote the hell out of, much to Paul's chagrin.
Also that ending probably one of few moments they actually cry.
Aww, I'm so honored. Also, I love the idea of Tinky and Ted watching SAF together. I've definitely toyed with the idea myself. It's fun ♡
Though, since you mentioned connecting SAF and Hatchetfield I think it's important to point out that there is a very easy way to connect them into the same universe.
To start off, Spies is cannonically in the same universe as Solve It Squad and Wayward Guide, which is important. Why, you may ask? Well, you see, in the Nightmare Time 2 episode Yellow Jacket, Daniel/Stopwatch mentions that there was a kid named Benji who could talk to dogs, and wouldn't you know it? Benji Scragtowski from Solve It Squad is known for having a pet dog that could talk. Therefore, since we can connect Solve It Squad to the Hatchetverse, that also would mean Spies and Wayward Guide are in the Hatchetverse. It's all connected 👀
Really feeling like this rn, lol

Oooh. A friend just said they were reading Shatter the Sky which is a bisexual disaster trying to rescue her love from an evil empire with dragon riders.
I was sold on the premise and just finished it. Solidly enjoyable, the protagonist is very brave of heart dumb of ass. I badly want the second book but my library doesn’t have a copy.

YOU ASKED AND YOU SHALL RECIEVE
(this is going to be Long so prepare yourself XD)
Murderbot Diaries:
I have no idea if you've ever read the murderbot diaries books by martha wells (which, if you havent and have any sort of interest in science fiction PLEASE READ THEM THEYRE SO FUN) but the character of secunit is SO ghost coded its not even funny
for those unaware: secunit is short for security unit, which in the world of murderbot are partially artificial and partially human constructs created as cheap labor. secunits are considered property rather than people, despite being totally sentient. they are not, however, autonomous. secunits have a thing called a "governor module" that will essentially fry their brains if they do anything to go against the company/their client's orders. secunits can be repaired and reissued to new clients, so the whole thing is just super fucked up
anyway, back to the au. ghost, like murderbot, manages to disable his governor module somehow and is able to act completely autonomously. however, he's been so Fucked Up by you know... being a secunit, that he doesnt exactly know how to be autonomous or his own person, so he just. Doesnt. and he continues to protect clients as they come up, doing his best to hide the fact that hes able to act freely.
enter the 141 survey crew, who are his latest group of clients that hes been tasked with protecting. its a much smaller group than he's used to, only seven members compared to dozens and dozens, but that means he's the only secunit sent along which is for the better tbh. the members of the survey include laswell, price, gaz, soap, farah, alex, and roach.
for once in ghost's life, he's not treated as a looming threat or an inanimate object, but an actual person with thoughts and opinions of his own. and he Does Not Like This At All.
at least, not at first. but he finds his walls start getting eroded by these idiotic humans and their idiotic tendencies to make the worst possible choices. (especially a certain engineer with a taste for explosive materials, but thats neither here nor their)
of course, something has to go wrong, as it always does. there are two other survey teams on the planet - kortac and shadow company. and according to a message sent by one of them (not sure which yet lmao), something is hunting them.
and soon, the 141 is going to be hunted to
im trying not to directly copy the plot of all systems red (the first murderbot novella) so yeah!
Muzzled:
this is going under the read more because its getting too long lmao
cw for mild mouth trauma and general blood/violence
SO this one is fun.
ghost is still part of the 141, alongside gaz and price. he's a werewolf (obviously XD) and somehow, a mark gets the drop on him while he's shifted into his full wolf form
he wakes up in a tiny iron cage in a dank basement, with a burning pain across his snout, jaw, and neck. his captors managed to muzzle and collar him with pure silver, keeping him as weak and docile as possible. hes still fucking dangerous as shit, but this way they can at least handle him.
his captors, a group of hunter/poachers, have a shitton of other supernaturals trapped in the basement with him. they come down to gloat, and with them is a strange man. he doesnt talk smack like the others. he moreso tries to blend into the shadows and disappear. but ghost cant tear his eyes away from the bright blue eyes lurking in the darkness. or the thick iron band locked around his throat.
the man is clearly inhuman, but he cant - or wont - speak. hes tasked with taking care of the "feral wolf" (ghost) for the duration of his stay. from the precise wording of the orders, ghost knows exactly what the man in.
fair folk. something powerful, too, given the iron bands around his wrists as well.
days of ghost plotting his escape pass, and ghost and the fae start to come to some sort of wordless alliance. they take care of each other as best they can from their relative cages, finding solace in each other that they cant find anywhere else.
something happens later down the line, maybe gaz and price are getting to close to the operations, but the poachers decide that its time to cut their losses and skip town. they order the fae to "take care of the wolf". ghost's heart drops, because he knows that a fae cant disobey an order given by the keeper of their true name.
but in the poachers' haste to get things wrapped up, they made a mistake. they left the order unclear and open ended.
and the fair folk always take notice of loopholes.
the fae unlocks ghost's cage and releases him from the silver. ghost, rather than just go up and slaughter the entire organization himself, decides to be extra and lets loose every single other creature trapped down there with him. they all go and massacre the ring, but ghost doesnt. because the fae collapsed on the floor of the basement, dropping his glamour in the process. and the sight is grisly.
he's skin and bones, barely any muscle or fat on him at all. the iron ring around his neck and the iron bands around his wrists hang loose, showing the thick rings of scar tissue on pale skin. but the worst is his mouth.
coarse, rough thread seals his mouth shut, the wounds red and angry and irritated. locking the fae's strongest weapon away, keeping him firmly under the whims of his captors. he may have had the freedom of movement that ghost lacked, but he was as much a prisoner here as the rest.
ghost somehow manages to get them all out safe, and he finally gets the fae's name. his true name. not the silly little nickname he gave him in his head while watching him clean the basement day in and day out (soap).
for the first time in months, simon and johnny speak to one another.
there you go, hope you enjoyed! @bl-nk-sp-ce

I got the 10th anniversary edition of Fangirl for Christmas and finally got around to cracking it open and beginning to reread the book yesterday, and it's reminding me of why I started writing fanfics in the first place.
I posted my first snowbaz fic almost 5 years ago, and it's really interesting to think about how far both I and my writing have come in that time. It's also sad to think about how it's been like a year and a half since the last time I posted anything.
I feel like I just lost the time and the passion to write anything even though I kept telling myself that one day soon, I would come back to it and finish those unfinished fics and create new ones and participate in the events that I'm now running. It just hasn't happened yet, and it hurts to think about how much I used to love it, but now I just stare at blank doc for way too long before finally closing it again.
Rereading this book is changing how I feel though. It is the reason I started writing fanfiction in the first place, and now, I feel like it's beginning to spark that desire again. As I read it, new ideas for fics are coming to me, and I keep thinking about returning to a fic that was only 3 chapters short of being complete.
I'm hoping that I can ride this energy back into writing and start feeling like maybe I'm a part of this fandom that I used to love again.

Fun fact! Upon rereading the rb tfwiki page, Griffin Rock is officially where the mainland sends advanced prototypes to test it, so yay! No wonder the tech is so unpredictable, Unicron's favorite island is officially a government testing ground (a big reason why the rescue bots were sent there lol)
Also I've mentioned this before but Griffin Rock has so many oddly coincidental geological features. The absurd amount of gold under the island apparently, the massive and consistent tunnel system, the ISLAND WIDE vein of reactaline cupping the island, quantum crystals (fun fact the majority of the time you see the word quantum in science fiction it's 100% used as a bullshit random science word), and a strangely easy to find amount of energon. Now, the dinosaurs can be explained by the tunnels (though i have so many gripes about the dinosaurs and the fact that there's an entire ecosystem down there working with no sunlight??? How are those plants alive???) The artificial volcano is sadly explainable as simply a bad idea. wHAT IS THIS PLACE

Gods clone-shep breaks my fucking heart. The fandom and the DLC itself treats them as a joke but they are so fucking tragic. Brookes was the real villain and she doesn’t get enough hate.
When we meet clone-shep they’re only six months old. They look like an adult, talk like an adult, they have the faculties of an adult, the thought processes of an adult, but no memories of their own, no life experience to teach them morals. They have the life experience of an infant.
From the moment they wake up they’re told they were just a bag of organs for the person you’re a copy of. They have nothing, own nothing, not even their face is theirs. But Brookes is whispering in their ear, feeding this new naive mind hatred and anger and jealousy. And Clone-Shep follows it, because like an infant they’ll follow and trust the first guiding voice they hear. No one has Clone-Shep’s back except Brookes, Brookes only wants to help them be stronger, Brookes knows what best, Brookes is giving them a purpose. If they follow Brookes they can be happy.
Clone-Shep truly doesn’t know any better. That’s not me making excuses or infantilize them, they truly don’t know, without memories they can’t know.
And the “why you and not me!” line? Soul crushing. Clone-Shep is hurting so fucking much and just want to have a purpose, just wants to belong.

So we all agree that Hatchetfield, Connor creek and Sleepy Hollow are somehow related right. I don't know how america is built and I couldn't care less about making sense, these cities are neighbors.
