TW; a disgusting thought:

“Maybe if I can’t afford food, I’ll lose weight”.

This body does not feel like mine.

But I want to love myself regardless of the space I take up.

I’ll never stop eating,

and I’ll never stop feeling guilty about it.

I am proof that the things you say have power.

I still think about the time my Dad said :

“ you sure look like you eat a lot of pasta”

and the horrible things my uncle said to me about my body through a Fb message.

That was four years ago, and my Dad always had something to say about my weight.

I’m too skinny, I’m too fat.

Why do I have to be ‘too’ anything?

Why can’t I just be me?

And be happy about it.

I know your face better than my own and I see it in my mind You look incredulously at me HOW DARE I direct attention to your bullshit call out the manipulation and twisting You can’t stand truth or light so you grind me between your steel eyes to submission I feel the weight of your anger when I get a letter from my lawyer pointing my attention to the ways you are still bullying me but, I can’t get a full breath I’m paralyzed by my morality this high road isn’t lonely but it’s on display and heavy because I could speak from anger after years of abuse left me seething and how I can’t read enough books to keep her from this hurt because courts don’t care about emotional abuse I want to stay strong and fight for equal outcomes still when I walk away with 70% of the debts you still have the gall to ask me to pay your rent and I just fucking can’t anymore with your entitled, endless audacity.
