Writeblr re-intro!

I'm just gonna make these periodically so that new people joining the community might see it.

Hi, I'm Lee Brontide (any pronouns but "it"). I'm queer, middle aged, midwestern (in the US), and have a variety of disabilities. I'm also a therapist, but I'm pretty specific in how I allow that to show up in online spaces. (please don't ask for therapy in my DMs).

I have a once a month newsletter called Shed Letters.

I'm on tumblr to dink around, meet other writers, find readers, share my animation attempts, and show off my cats.

I read pretty much anything scifi or fantasy, but am especially interested in finding more scifi writeblrs. Especially YA scifi writers. There must be others, right?

I've got one book out now called Secondhand Origin Stories, which is character-driven, low-neon, near-future cyberpunk scifi with a superhero twist. My WIP, Names in Their Blood, is in edits now and will be going to beta reading soon!

Which means I'm also going to get to work on the as yet untitled novella that goes between book 1 and book 2 in the series soon. It's from the point of view of an AI building management/security system/medical information database, who decides that they want a more portable body so they can follow their family on the next family trip, and explores the process of choosing a new physical form.

I am ask and tag game friendly, and for now at least, my DMs are open! But I work on a major delay because life.

Axerim- Current Main! Two lovers get horribly and violently screwed over in every way, then wrenched apart by those who wronged them. How will they get the sweet closure of revenge?

MCs: Barlow (They/Them) and Kirix (They/Them)

Setting: Medieval Fantasy

Carlylore- A genetically engineered cat thing tries to uncover what was up with their childhood while constantly on the run from the law.

MCs: Carly (They/She/It)

Setting: Kinda sci-fi, but mostly modern

Arthurquest (I came up with that name literally right now as I was writing this. It's named after brodyquest. You're welcome (I said to myself))- An artist named Arthur decides the only way to leave a mark on the world is to create something so horrifying that no one will ever forget him. Preferably because of the image's effects, preferably because the image would drive every single one of its viewers mad. Follow him as he seeks out eldritch horrors to accomplish his goal!

MCs: Arthur (He/him(/they? I haven't figured it out yet))

In the Labyrinth, they talk of gods.

They whisper between their fingers and sweeten their breath with the tales of titans of old who once stood so tall that a single breath would cause earth-tremors, their steps reshaping the ground trod beneath them. Their fingers were the tools that smoothed the mountains into points, shaped and carved the ridges and valleys in between. If you hike far enough, one woman claims, if you travel to a point where the oxygen is thin and your vision blacks, you can make out a partial print against the mountainside. You can run your own fingers along its length and still feel the titan’s warmth as if his palm were pressed right against yours.

The woman says, It is a thing of worship. It is a thing of devotion.

In the Labyrinth, they ask you to make you make your body anew before the King of the High Hills. They say that you are alive because you must suffer for the life and love of the Lord, that you must open your body and let him lick along your flesh so that he may taste the endlessness of his perpetual reign.

In the Labyrinth, there is no escape from his touch.

“You have a heavy burden upon you,” the headmaster was saying, teeth and eyes all a glitter under the amber cast candles. “I am not unsympathetic to the arduous path ahead of you—but please understand that this suffering must be experienced for the longevity of the king, for the beautiful life ahead of him. Only he is the one who can shed mortality and raise to the gods, because he is the only one strong enough, courageous enough, to count the cost of living forever. You must succeed where others have failed. You, this class, this is our last chance to mend what has been made broken. You must. You must.”

The Mouths of Elysium is a dark-academia fantasy created with Twine where your choices matter to the story. You live inside the Labyrinth, a maze that hates to become known with walls and paths that change every hour. Writeblr Intro

So, I wasn't aware people still made or paid attention to these so HELLO!

I'm Steph, 33 from the UK. She/her, bisexual.

I've been writing since I was a kid but have been doing it more seriously for the past six years.

I mainly write angst and dark humour, though I am trying to branch out and write happier narrative. Fantasy is my favourite to write.

My current WIPs include a cosy cottagecore, an epic DND inspired fantasy, and a paranormal psychological thriller (my third contemporary piece). I also love to write poetry when the inspiration hits.

I've written two books, The Bonds That Bind Us & The Binds That Break Us, that were self-published for a while but have now been archived. It was supposed to be a trilogy but I just couldn't find the ending for it, so now everyone is just miserable and sad.

Very happy to follow and support fellow writers. I should prewarn, though, that I do suffer with anxiety and mild autism so I'm not always the most reliable communicator.

magic school coming-of-age that turns into a dystopia. and there are lesbians EVERYWHERE. basically. it covers ten years of this girl's life where she's

also lesbians! contains time shenanigans and dragons. set in a world sort of exactly like the Modern Pre-Crown World in fionna and cake. i reference this because my main lady penny is a silly little history buff and decides to go on this expedition to find more information on a lost goddess, and ends up getting entangled with time. after a long, emotional trek that goes wrong more times than it goes right. penny somehow manages to get sent thousands of years in the future when the world has been ravaged by magic and godly power. and then she meets a girl who has a dragon and a dude that does everything she says, and more shit happens!

untitled crime story (now: unorthodox methods!)

i will not stop calling it untitled crime story!!! but i had to come up with a silly and catchy title because i chose this as a premise for the feature film script i'm writing for class. but untitled crime story i'll remember you

you guessed it.... lesbians.............. but they're exes with sooo much unspoken beef and they go off-grid together anyways so neither of them get put in prison ??? it's in a world where magic is normal and a bit frowned upon, now getting out of have because there's a global shortage of the one drug that suppresses magical powers. and this girl's ex calls her one night! the fun ex---she's supposed to be fun!! but she sounds super terrified and serious and chaos ensues! lesbians running from magical authorities and having to face their very long, very loud shared history.

Hello, writeblr! This is my first time on Tumblr, but I'm a writer migrating over from the writing community on Twitter. Since Twitter is dying, I'm hoping to make new friends and figure out how things are done here!

I'm a fantasy writer! I've written eighteen books (a mix of standalone and series) and published absolutely nothing because my mental health is wobbly! I'm looking for friends and people to kick my butt until I start writing again! I just had a baby and my brain doesn't work! Yay!

Writeblr Intro

Hello! My name is Kit. I am new to writeblr, but very old to tumblr. I live in the US, I'm 26 and use she/they pronouns.

I've been creeping on the tags for a while, but I finally made a blog just for writing. I'd love to share updates on what I'm writing, excerpts and talk about writing with other writers.

I'm currently writing my first novel, it's young adult high fantasy. I've written about 40,000 words in the universe, but I've recently finished a more detailed outline. So, I'm starting the real rough draft now that I know more of what I want to say.

A lot of my characters are queer and disabled, like me. I want to write books that are magical and that a lot of different people can see themselves in. I think fantasy serves as a cool conduit for imagining what the world could look like beyond a lot of the power structures we take for granted.

I'd love to follow other authors, particularly ones that are also working on longer term projects. I think it'd be cool to get feedback from people, or find other people who have been doing this longer and talk more about their thought processes. I'm open to following writers of all genres since I read them all and think there's so many cool things to learn from different styles!

Any advice on how to get started is appreciated, will be following anyone that interacts with this post.

I look forward to getting more involved in this community!
