Hi! I’m making this post in honor of National Bullying Prevention Month and Depression Awareness Month. I unfortunately am a victim of cyberbullying and harassment, and felt that it’d be beneficial to help people look for warning signs and how to deal with it.
I know how mentally draining and painful it is, to navigate this negative experience. It’s gotten to a point that I started working with a mental health professional to help me cope. (and that’s not something I’m afraid to admit!) So I’ve decided to make some artwork to express some of the ways I’ve been feeling, while also going over some warning signs for bystanders.
I want to start by saying that you can actually get authorities involved for cyberbullying. If someone (or a group of people) is harassing you; such as making posts about you, asking people to block you, messaging people about you, etc, you can get police / school involved. But unfortunately some victims feel that they have to put up with it.
You deserve better 💕 if someone is harassing you, (online or in person) and if it’s safe to do so, do something about it.
The main way to stop harassment / cyberbullying is for bystanders to get involved. So I want to spread awareness of some things that people should watch out for.
I personally don’t believe in cancel culture, and think it's a huge red flag. If you see posts online that especially say “block this person” or “repost and block” you should be wary. This is a problematic tactic that these people use. The goal is to isolate the victim so that no one will come to help them, allowing the perpetrator to do whatever they please. By reposting these callouts, blocking said user, you’re only allowing the bullies to win. I’m not stating that everyone who makes a call out post is a bully, but I’m simply just stating to be wary.
Another red flag is if someone is going around privately messaging you about a user. This is another isolation tactic. If you receive a message such as this the best thing to do is to either ignore it, or privately warn the victim about what’s going on.
Cyberbullying is a big deal, if you’ve ever had it happen to you then you know how much it affects you. I’m lucky, my family is ready to do something about it. But that's not the case for everyone. If you see cyberbullying happening please don’t spread their posts. Don’t allow these oppressors to win.

To my fellow peeps and creatures with depression
i’m proud of those who are too depressed to keep clean.
too depressed to take showers on the regular, to brush their teeth on the regular, to brush their hair on the regular, to even have hair to begin with cuz you know you won’t take care of it.
too depressed to do any of that, so you start stinking all the time, your teeth are yellow and have bits of stuff in them, your hair is matted/knotty, and you’re tired of how you don’t have much hair at all. you have nothing to be ashamed about. you have nothing to feel bad about. life is hard, your mind tells you lies, it all drains the energy out of you, and it’s absolutely understandable that you can’t do any of that stuff as much as you would like to.
you aren’t gross. you aren’t nasty. and you aren’t ugly. you’re going through so much, and i am so damn proud of you for existing right now, you hear me? so damn proud of you for existing, for doing the best you can. you know, that best that you put out into the world and everything you do right now is absolutely enough. you’re so enough, understand? you’re enough.
and i will gladly give you a hug, make you smile, help you get your hair somewhat manageable so it’s not bothering you so much, and compliment you on your lack of hair.
you’re more than the bad times. you’re more than your worst moments. okay? if someone judges you for struggling and automatically assumes what kinda person you are or any shit like that, just come to me, and i’ll beat the shit out of em and give you the biggest hug in the world. anybody who shames someone for struggling is a total jackass, and do we listen to jackasses? no. no, we do not. cuz all jackasses say is nonsense and stupidity.
you’ve got a beautiful smile. your personality is lovely, your looks are amazing, you don’t gotta smell so nice for that to show and for you to be someone amazing to be around. your hair is super cool in that messy hairdo of yours. and your hair is absolutely badass in that buzzcut style. aight? you understand me? you’re lovely and wonderful and more than your bad moments, and we don’t listen to those who judge us for the bad moments.
i love you. go get some water or juice or even a soda of some sort, anything that’s liquid, even if it’s just a little sip, if you can. go grab a small snack, if you can, could be anything, anything you want or that’s in reach, i don’t fucking care if all you want right now is junkfood, eat the junkfood, it’s something, and that’s awesome. i’m fucking proud of you. and you’re lovely and wonderful and beautiful. and it’s okay to struggle and you don’t have to be ashamed about those struggles. 🤍
get some rest too, by the way. take a nap or two, get to bed now or before midnight if you can.

One thing I taught myself was to never judge a person who commits suicide or experiences suicidal thoughts. It takes a giant force to make a person go against their own survival insticts. As a third person you can see things more clearly, but while being in the dark mist of depression you can't see the light
Being in the dark mist of depression, all you can think about is getting out. Nothing else matters despite getting a moment of peace, and who can blame them?
I wish the best for everyone going through such pain. It is NOT easy.

- can travel w/o feeling bogged down
- can do whatever you want lol
cons:
- loneliness

Just a Reminder that most months (at least in the USA) are actually Several Different Awareness Months!
I actually just learned this recently somehow, when I was like, "Isn't October like ADHD Awareness Month?" (I was going to make a post on the 1st of October about it) Turns out, it's more than that! The most common celebrations for October are:
ADHD Awareness Month
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Depression Awareness Month
LGBTQIA+ History Month
And there's probably many more I missed! So, I'd suggest looking into the various months and what awareness they are associated with, as well as awareness days! OwO
