Your parents are convinced that Rodrick is a bad influence on you, and they're right. Being with Rodrick has changed you for the worst and for the better, he’s seen you at your lowest and your highest. But he’s proud of you no matter what happens. In fact, he’s your biggest supporter.

Being over after school every day means you bond really well with his family, and they love you since you seem to have a better influence on him than anything else. I mean, ever since you two started dating, he’s actually been doing his homework and his attendance has significantly improved. That being said, you are definitely a celebrity to Rodrick’s little brother and his friend, Greg and Rowley.

Speaking of the two, you're like their saving grace when it comes to shielding them from the teenage angst that is Rodrick—or in their eyes, the biggest bully they've ever encountered.

There have been many times where Greg tries explaining to you just how bad of a brother Rodrick is, but he never gets farther than a few words before Rodrick slams the door in his face or spills some drink he’s holding onto him.

He’s not that open to listening to your kind of music (if it’s drastically different than the kind of stuff he would listen to) but in secret...in secret he kicks his feet and twirls around imagining you doing the same thing to all the lyrics. He’s a cutie patootie when he’s not being a resentful menace.

Despite that, you spend most of your after school days in Rodrick’s bedroom, garage, or his van just talking about things or listening to him play. He plays a kind of music you never thought you’d listen to before, but have grown to like because not only does he have CDs of all his songs burned into them, but plays other music similar to that genre.

He makes multiple efforts to teach you the guitar with you on his lap and the guitar pressing you both together, but all those times Greg comes in because he wants to try and get on your good side.

If you're not there at band practice, like how you normally are, Rodrick makes all these mistakes and fumbles with playing. Since you're the designated band girlfriend, it’s pretty much a necessity for you to be around him when he practices, otherwise he gets nothing done. Sometimes it’s a problem, but for the most part, you’re like his buff.

Rodrick’s banned from your house because he tried sneaking in your room through your window, but he ended up landing on your mom’s patch of freshly bloomed flowers. When she found out, she wasn’t happy, and even though she tried so hard to excuse his looks, his lack of direction, his rebellious nature, she just couldn’t excuse the sad death of her flower children. So she banned him. Now you guys have to meet in secret or at school or his house, just anywhere not near your house.

He still makes an awkward effort to get your parents to like him, but it never really works out. He either shows up late or shows up with half his clothes missing or drenched in strange fluids because of pranks pulled by his little brother on his way out.

“Lime green paint...on my white porch. Can you believe it, honey?”

“Just go, kid.”

“Alright!”

He gives you rides to and from school in his janky ass van, but it’s your only form of transportation so you don’t complain. Everything pretty much happens in that van. Everything.

His form of PDA is wrapping an arm around you loosely and just walking with you, not so much holding your hand. He also really likes just resting his arm on your head or squishing your cheeks together to make funny faces even if it pisses you off sometimes, he thinks it’s cute.

Free band dates!! Meaning that, you get free access to Löded Diper gigs, and the best seats watching your boyfriend and his band mates thrash around. You also get free merch...teehehehehe...

Oddly enough, Rodrick ends up turning soft for you and doing things no one in his family would expect out of him. Like taking you out on drive in dates, or getting you flowers, or just smiling more. Not saying he’s emo or edgy, but he is pretty punkish and reluctant to show any sort of affection. It certainly is off putting to Greg at least. 

He asks you to do his eyeliner because you have an unlimited supply of it, and at least he doesn't have to use his mom’s anymore. People can usually tell when you do his eyeliner and when he does it himself; it’s pretty easy to differentiate.

If Rodrick doesn't want to be someplace and is dragged along by his family, the mere mention of you attending the same event makes him suddenly excited to be there. More excited than the planner. He’ll go on tangents about you, and it really doesn’t matter who’s listening. He looks all bad and mean, but as soon as someone talks about you, his face changes completely.

goth!choso who always thought that his future gf would’ve been someone who is just as emo and gothic as he was but boy was he wrong.

goth!choso who couldn’t explain why coquette!reader caught his attention so quickly. he’s never been a fan of the cute pink girly aesthetic, not that he hated it but y’all know he been an emo since he basically came out his momma’s womb, so he always preferred if girls had a similar aesthetic to him. all that didn’t even cross his mind when he laid his eyes on u, how could it when u just looked so pretty n cute ???!

goth!choso who wasn’t even planning to approach u and was just going to head home and lie in his bed while reminiscing abt the cute girl he saw in the cafe. that is until u decided to approach him and compliment his outfit. a cute pink blush creeps up onto his cheeks and he doesn’t even get to thank u bc he so busy admiring how beautiful u are. u give him a gorgeous smile and hand him a little note that says “text me •ᴗ•” with ur number on it. with that beautiful smile still plastered on ur face, u wave ‘bye’ to him and walk away.

goth!choso who gets home that day contemplating with his phone in his hand if he should text u or not. after a good 10 mins of pacing around his room and giving himself some motivational talk, he sends u a message and exits the messaging app almost immediately.

goth!choso who’s kinda surprised when u actually respond to his message in less than 2 minutes. from that point on u n choso hit it off from there.

So here's the basis, at Rodricks party (or just a party in general) the reader gets flat out wasted and doesn't realize that Rodrick is their boyfriend and says like 'my boyfriend would beat you up if he found out about this' while Rodrick is trying to take care of them. Summary: Your boyfriend Rodrick tries taking care of you while you’re drunk, and you seem to forget that he’s your boyfriend.

As soon as Rodrick’s parents were out of the house, he knew he was gonna throw a party. He didn’t care that his brother Greg would be there; he’d take care of him later. Maybe make him sleep over at Rowley’s or lock him in his room.

Rodrick threw himself on the couch and called you, wanting you to be the first to show up to his party. Then, after the call, the two of you texted all of your friends to come to Rodrick’s tonight.

A few hours later, the party was in full swing. Rodrick ended up locking Greg in the basement so he could focus on having fun with you without worrying about his brother ruining his party. 

“So, when are your parents coming home?” You asked your boyfriend before taking a sip of your drink. You didn’t really know what was in it; your friend had made it for you, but it was definitely giving you a bit of a buzz.

“Monday or something.” Rodrick shrugged, his arm wrapped around you, keeping you close to him. “We have the whole weekend to ourselves.” He said with a smirk.

“Isn’t Greg here?” 

“Yeah, but I can keep him in the basement.”

“Rodrick…” You pointed to the front door, where you saw Greg’s friend Rowley looking around in wonder. “What’s he doing here?”

Rodrick cursed, his wide eyes accentuated by the eyeliner that you helped him put on before people started coming to the house.

“I’ll be right back.” He said, handing you his red solo cup before racing over to the little redheaded boy and grabbing him by the back of his shirt. You snorted, taking another sip before going to find your friends.

It was a long while before you found Rodrick again. You were close to plastered, hanging onto one of your friends who was definitely more sober than you were. After a brief silence in the house, where apparently Susan had called to check up on Rodrick and Greg, your boyfriend let the boys out of the basement, and the party became livelier than before. You screamed along to music, dancing in a way that looked like uncontrolled thrashing, and drank until your friends decided it was time to cut you off and hand you back to your boyfriend.

“Finally! We’ve been looking for you for, like, forever!” One of your friends said with a giggle as she spotted Rodrick in the kitchen. 

“Who’s he?” You asked, pointing at the boy. He looked at you and then at your friend, growing confused.

“She’s wasted. Good luck.” Then you were pushed into his arms. Luckily, he caught you, or else you probably would’ve stumbled into something.

“Gee, thanks!” He called out to your friend before looking down at you. “Hey babe, feeling okay?”

“Who are you calling ‘babe’?” You asked incredulously. Rodrick snorted.

“Yeah, let’s get you to bed.” 

Luckily for Rodrick, the party was starting to die down a bit. He quickly kicked everyone out of the house, grabbed a bottle of water, and told Greg and Rowley that they could do whatever they wanted as long as they didn’t bother him before he took you up to his room.

“You better hope my boyfriend doesn’t find out about this.” You said in a bit of a slur as Rodrick sat you on his bed. “He’ll beat you up.”

“Y/n, I am your boyfriend.” Rodrick snorted, and you furiously shook your head.

“Nuh-uh.” You said, leaning back on your elbows. “My boyfriend’s prettier.”

Rodrick felt jealous for a minute before remembering that he was being jealous of himself.

“Oh really?” 

You nodded, watching Rodrick pull out a shirt from his dresser.

“He’s in a band.” You said with a smile before seeing the shirt’s design. You gasped, pointing at it with a grin. “That’s his band!”

“Yeah?” Rodrick asked, mirroring your enthusiasm. He figured it was better to play along by acting like he wasn’t your boyfriend right now. “I’m a big fan.”

“Well, I’m a bigger fan.” You smirked, flopping back onto the bed. You stretched your limbs, feeling fuzzy and warm all over. “I’m tired.” You said with a sigh.

Rodrick figured now would be the best time to get you changed. He pulled you back into a sitting position and held the shirt in front of you.

“Wanna put this on?” He asked in a tone that one would use with a baby. Seeing the name of your boyfriend’s band on the shirt, you nodded and snatched it from his hands. Rodrick turned around as you got changed, throwing you some shorts from one of the last times that you stayed over. 

By the time Rodrick was changed into his own pajamas and had turned around, you were sprawled out on his bed, the clothes you were previously wearing scattered around you.

Letting out a small laugh, Rodrick gathered your stuff into a small pile. Then he gently grabbed you, pulling you closer to the head of the bed. Rodrick opened up the water bottle he brought up and nudged you awake.

“Drink this.” Your eyes opened the slightest bit to see the bottle, which you grabbed and chugged. Rodrick’s eyes widened at the speed at which you drank, the bottle being emptied in just a couple of seconds.

“Thanks.” You say, crushing the plastic bottle and giving it back to Rodrick, who just tossed it over his shoulder. “You know, you’re really nice.” You grabbed one of Rodrick’s pillows, clutching it close to you and smushing your cheek against it. “But don’t try anything, because my boyfriend will kick your ass.”

“Wouldn’t want that.” Rodrick laughed, brushing some stray hair out of your face. “Goodnight, Y/n.”

“Goodnight.” You yawned, quickly falling into a deep sleep. When he knew you weren’t going to wake up, Rodrick laid back and closed his eyes, staying close to you as he fell asleep.

Rodrick headcanons: dating edition

This definitely falls under the himbo x hard headed partner trope but I'm not complaining and neither are u.

He's a creative and sometimes his head gets lost in the clouds, so he really needs his partner to be more academic and to help keep him grounded.

He doesn't like a lot of responsibility and he likes being looked after, so he prefers his partner to be the more assertive one.

He finds the ability to cook very attractive, since he can't cook for shit. He's easily fascinated by incredibly simple meals and always wants to help out, even though he's more of a hindrance than a help.

He never forgets important dates, birthdays, anniversaries, valentines etc, but he DOES sleep through them and wake up in a panic realising how late he is every. single. time.

His ideal date is building a lego set together then taking a nap, but if it's a particularly nice day, he quite likes the arcade. Although sometimes he gets a little embarrassed, being surrounded by guys winning plushies for their gfs, while in his relationship you're the one who wins the toy for him.

He's loves feeling appreciated, so he's always surprising you with flowers, songs and various sweet little gestures just to see your happy reaction.

He loves praise and reassurance and has been known to pull the "would you still love me if I was a worm" card.

His family insist on having you round for dinner every so often. You always bring a nice bottle of wine and some flowers, and the Heffleys are always happy to see you, but Rodrick spends the whole time worrying that either you or his mum will say something to embarass him.

Rodrick's friends didn't really like you at first because you forced Rodrick to pick up his dirty socks and take showers, but after seeing how happy you make him, and after the time you stopped by band practice with some homemade cookies, they all like you now.

You absolutely do not ever need to worry about him cheating. He worships the ground you walk on and still acts as if other girls have cooties.

If you fell asleep at his house, for any reason, he would wake you up by sticking his drumstick up your nose.

He would give up on his eyeliner halfway through doing it and start begging you to do it, just completely sobbing for you to do it for him until you finally agree to it.

Rodrick would not have enough money for a date night so you two would just sit in his room and he would play you his new songs, they all sucked but it was better than nothing.

Susan would make you two babysit Greg or Manny so she wouldn’t have to pay a babysitter but at the end of it, The two of you would be making out on the couch.

He would absolutely hate cuddling unless you were sick or upset. If you were sick, he would literally drag you into bed before trying to make you soup then burning it.

After one of his bandmates left, he would try and teach you how to play the guitar. He would stand behind you with his hands around your waist as you tried to play the right strings.

You would try and help him with as much of his homework but would get distracted halfway through and start complimenting you so he didn’t have to do anymore work.

His notebooks/hands would constantly be covered in little hearts with the both of your initials but he would never admit that to you.

Rodrick would get jealous/angry with you if you came over and spent more time with his family than with him.

you're sitting in your room, blasting music from your speakers as you wait patiently for rodrick.

your door slams open and you jerk up from your slumped position, heart pounding from the sudden noise, to stare at the door. more specifically, your boyfriend who is standing in your doorway, chest heaving from (most likely) the run to your house.

rodrick steps inside and walks over to you, wrapping his arms around you and engulfing you in a hug.

you had called him shortly after you had gotten home, desperately needing to see him after your day at school. he slowly releases you from his embrace and walks towards your door, shutting it before pulling you onto your bed with him. as the two of you lay down you feel him stroking your hair, trying to give you comfort.

“what's wrong? are you ok?” rodrick speaks up after a while. “yeah… just needed to see you…” you mutter.

you can feel him shake his head slightly and laugh. “you gave me a heart attack, you know that right? i thought it was your parents again...”

rodrick spoke carefully about your parents, knowing their views on you. they always disregarded your preferred pronouns and made you feel like utter crap. rodrick was always there for you though, comforting and sitting with you. reassuring you that you're perfect and all that he could want.

“no… not this time… just had a shitty day.” you tighten your grip around him, pulling him even closer to you.

“well it's a good thing i'm here to make it less shitty then, yeah?” he chuckles and you can't stop the wide smile that appears on your face. you could always count on him to cheer you up.

“how did i get so lucky to have you as my boyfriend?” you ask rhetorically. “if anything, i'm the lucky one. i mean come on, i managed to get the hottest guy in town to date me. and people say i have no talents.” he answers regardless, the last part with a hint of amusement.

you laugh at his words and lean up to press a gentle kiss on his cheek. “you're adorable.” he smiles widely and shakes his head, “that's all you.”

“charming.” you say sarcastically, finding his cheesy comment ridiculous but cute nonetheless.

“prince charming.” he corrects. “ah yes, how could i forget,” you pretend to faint, “my handsome prince charming.” you carry on dramatically.

rodrick rolls his eyes at your actions and returns your kiss from earlier with his own on your cheek. “well then you're my prince charming too.”

you nod, “i can live with that…” smiling at his words.

“i love you…” he mutters and your heart melts.

“i love you too.”

you've never said truer words in your life. this boy loved and accepted you for you, and how could you not live him back?
