Marvel let loki have two families (the frost giants dont count tho)

The TVA fam could have been better developed. I can only buy a goodish relationship with Sylvie, Mobius (only after S2 because he risked his skin for Loki, in S1 I was like "WTF are people watching to churn out so much fluffy Lokius? I can only see this going darkly."), and OB (lesser degree because new character) because he rarely interacted 1-on-1 with anyone else. They were usually present in a group setting.

In Ep.5, I became convinced Loki has some attachment disorder and extreme fear of abandonment, so he latched onto anyone he could by taking people he once knew from their timelines because he doesn't seem very close to them.

And Loki sadly never got to patch up things with his adoptive family. Maybe one day he will?

I just wanted to point out what massive hypocrites themarysue.com are because they just released this article New 'Loki' Season 2 Promo Confirms that Loki Has Found His Fam | The Mary Sue

The way marvel studios has been using The TVA image is really awful and gross and despite the sight previously making this article about how Sylvie was right and suggesting otherwise was arguing for fascism they have never said anything about the series use of the TVA for advertising. The don't care about the problematic aspects that the show actually has they are just obsessed with defending Sylvie.

OMG what is that article and who on earth wrote that... I'm getting second-hand embarrassment from it.

So a bunch of TVA agents and a variant who betrayed him are his found family now? But the best part is that they then explain what found family is and they write:

What is found family? It’s the people who love you for who you are, especially when you’re smarting from a family or community that rejected you. It’s the people who don’t want to change you, and who stick by you even when you mess up or make mistakes. The trailers and featurette make it look like Loki’s TVA crew will be filling that role in his life.

People who love Loki for who he is?

Who don't want to change him and will stick by him no matter what?

These people care for him?

Season 2 would need to be a complete rewrite of Season 1 to make these people even remotely close to being a close family to him.

The OP says: "Season 1 was about Loki [...] realizing he could be more than a heel for the Avengers". Is it though? What is he told to be in S1 then?

And those words from Hiddleston are even worse: “He’s found a new family. There’s a new capacity to make connections. He realizes that those connections are all that matter in the end.” Connections to abusers who continue treating him as bad if not worse than his adoptive family. But hey, the TVA are just such a bunch of good guys, right? Ugh, I really don't like that guy.

But yeah, you're right on the money. These articles and a lot of fans follow the "who has done what" path. The TVA and its agents are awful when it comes to fighting Sylvie or disagreeing with her, and if she kills them she's always right to do so. But if Loki does the same? He's such a villain, he needs to be taught a lesson, they're just following orders, why is Loki so mean to them, bla bla bla.

They're so desperate to villainize him that they're trying to claim a bunch of fascists are "not that bad". My, my, they really hate Loki do they not?

Titan Luz officially joins the Disney TVA magical girl power up list alongside Calamity Anne and Butterfly Star. That was beautiful and I doubt I'll be able to say everything I want to but I'll try. I'm satisfied with the ending,we got to see king's dad with his Sans Undertale looking ass, the fam reunited,Luz pulling the Anne Boonchuy move of dying and meeting a god, the fact it was an error in Good witch Azura line quoting that made Luz realize something was up is perfection, the reuse of eat this sucka,Belos and his well deserved death thinking Luz would fall for his mental bs, the collector in general was so sad and cute and I'm glad for his pretty happy ending. The look into the future was even more proof of the Amphibia sister show thing and I loved it so much. This has been a fun ride everyone, I'm sad it ended but happy it happened. Keep watching and dreaming

..No matter where he goes, no matter what he does, no matter who he, meets. The things of the past will always follow. he’s aware he's trying to outrun karma, but as an unforgivable supervillain, he suppose it's just his canon.

Doctor Doom, Ouroboros, & The TVA

Okay, so if my theory that the Loki series is building up to the Avengers Forever arc that means Loki and fam will be squaring off against a team of multiversal villains led by Victor von Doom -- AKA Doctor Doom. For those of you who don't know Victor von Doom is a Marvel villain most well known for his ties to the Fantastic Four. He is an evil genius and an authoritarian dictator of the country Latveria. Latveria is what Sokovia is/was called in the comics. Disney renamed it Sokovia because when Age Of Ultron was made the Fantastic Four and X-Men film rights were owned by Fox, and Disney was barred from making any references to the franchises because of copyright issues.

But anyway...

Victor is also a scientist and a tech wiz akin to Tony and Howard Stark or Hank Pym. Part of how he maintains control over Latveria is with an army of robots that function as secret police called Doom Bots. And holy motherfuck the Doom Bots are a metaphor for police brutality and corrupt brainwashed cops. How am I just now noticing that?😐

Like last week I made a post where I talked this idea I have where Kang lied about having created Miss Minutes. I think that Miss Minutes is a program that was created by Victor von Doom in another timeline in which he and Kang knew each other. Potentially in the upcoming Fantastic Four film which is rumored to be set at some point in the 1960s.

Why would he do that?

Well, if Doom is leading a team of multiversal villains then maybe he needs someone to recruit them, right? That means those villains are variants of villains we might have already encountered in other movies. And we know that everyone who works for the TVA are variants. Which means that Kang is only killing off specific variants while allowing others to live after plucking them from various universes and timelines.

Could Doom be using Miss Minutes to manipulate Kang into deciding who lives and who dies?🤔

Circling back to our good pal Ouroboros, if you watch the first episode it becomes apparent from his interactions with Loki that OB is the only one in the TVA who hasn't had his memory erased by Kang. Why is that? Well, there could be a few reasons--

He's too valuable. Ouroboros wrote the TVA guidebook and assumably constructed most of the technology that it operates with. It's possible that he knows that tech better than Kang himself does which means wiping his memory could negatively impact the TVA.

Kang is simply not able to. Why would he not be able to? Because Ouroboros is a robot -- a piece of machinery so complex that not even Kang himself is capable of navigating it's/his inner workings.

It has also just occurred to me that Doom being tied into the Loki series would be supported by the aforementioned Fantastic Four film's 1960s setting. Cause the 1950s-60s was all about mid-century modern decor. You've all seen The Jetsons, right? If not get on that cause the decor in the TVA is extremely mid-century modern just like in The Jetsons. Which could be a hint that the creators of the TVA are from a universe where that was in vogue. In addition to being a metaphor for outdated rightwing values.

Anyway, these are just my thoughts and predictions so far. I wanted to get them out there cause if I don't then I'd be hyperfixating and driving myself crazy.

Black Widow Thoughts

Finally saw Black Widow yesterday! It’s so good! Here’s just some thoughts I had coming out of it…

I assume Yelena, Melina and Alexie were probably busy with freeing Black Widows during Infinity War, and considering how lonely Natasha was in Endgame were probably dusted. So with that said…

I need more of this family! There was two years between Black Widow and Infinity War. We can squeeze out a full trilogy right?

Tell me Tony Stark wouldn’t adopt Yelena alongside Peter. I dare you.

“Cmon kid. You’re moving in. I’ve signed the adoption papers.”

“Dude I’m in my twenties…”

Maybe since we just finished season 1 of Loki, but I’m shipping BlackFrost lately. Specifically a fic of a Nat Variant teaming up with Loki to escape the TVA. Then her taking him to meet up with Yelena and the fam.

Yelena: is this your boyfriend?

Natasha: Yelena this is Loki. He attacked New York.

Yelena: (shrugs) he’s still hot

Natasha: oh my gawd…

Alexie: (to Loki) break her heart and I will break you

Natasha: Alexie!

Melina: he’s a bit skinny but he’s got a cute butt.

Natasha : MELINA!

Loki: (confused concerned and amused, especially at how cute Nat’s red face is) um…thank you?

Melina: are you hungry? You are too skinny. You must eat. Natasha you must feed your boyfriend

A friend of mine wrote a letter to Disney that outlines reasons why they should not end The Owl House. He requested that I post it here in hopes that other fans will also write to Disney and, if you want, use this as a guide or template so feel free to use it!

Let’s all try to save The Owl House while we can!

Dear Disney, and the Executive that Hates the Joy of The Owl House,

You may have noticed that there has been a great deal of outrage about your decision to cancel The Owl House. There are many reasons why people are so angry; hence, you should reconsider your decision. Some of the reasons are:

● This show has already won multiple awards, including multiple Emmys (pretty much the best award a show could possibly get), and a Peabody Award, which is a highly coveted honor.

● Your audience isn’t solely made up of toddlers and 5 year olds. Kids grow, and teenagers and adults are the ones with actual money. If your work grows and develops for older kids to teens, to adults with nostalgia, and adults with kids, you have increased the size of your market. You can sell merchandise to more people for longer. I don’t know if you noticed, but there are characters in The Owl House that would make for great plushies (Ex. King and Owlbert).

● The Owl House celebrates diversity in all its forms. The lead character is a girl of color. She has a single mom. There’s a character whose gender is non-binary, something that is basically NEVER represented. A character has 2 dads who love her fiercely, like any other parents would. Inversely, it also shows that there can be abusive parental pressure. So many dynamics, and such diverse representation really matters.

● The show genuinely shows a love for education, and pursuing your interests, instead of letting other people decide for you. Finding your own way to learn, and growing at your own pace.

● Cancelling a show without even consulting the writer is a dirty and underhanded trick. Allowing someone to state their case is the bare minimum in terms of respect. Cancelling a show that has a plot because it’s difficult to rerun is wrong, because if someone sees an episode and gets curious, the entire series is on Disney+, and they can look it up. Last I checked, getting people to use Disney+ was a huge piece of the Disney money-making machine.

● The pandemic has made things hard for everyone, no doubt about it. But cancelling a show of such high quality is wrong. 8.2/10 rating on IMDB, 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, 2 of the most trusted sites for rating movies and shows. To put that into perspective, that’s higher than Titanic 1997 (One of the top grossing movies of all time), EVERY Harry Potter movie (One of the highest grossing franchises of all time), Frozen, and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, to name a few.

In conclusion, I STRONGLY request that you reconsider your position, and allow The Owl House to continue to tell the stories of characters that people can relate to, a magical realm that’s perfectly imperfect, and the strong message that people (adults and children alike) can choose their own destiny.

So who else is bloody confused after that latest episode of Loki???

Here are my thoughts

1. Obviously neither Mobius or Loki are dead. I'm thinking its some sort of reset thing that turns them back into mindless TVA worker drones or something.

2. The selfcest is really weird but I think its a misdirect. Outside of Thor, Loki has never even had a true friend before. I highly doubt its actual romantic love and if it is? Gross. I think the nexus event was caused by them forming a bond, but I think the implication that it is romantic love will be subverted next episode. Loki himself was most likely confused by his feelings thanks to Mobius's comments but nah fam I adamantly refuse to accept selfcest is gonna be an actual thing.

3. The other option is that Sylvie genuinely is NOT a Loki and is instead The Enchantress. We may have got a bit of back story in this ep but the reason for her being a variant and causing that nexus event on asgard is still a mystery. Perhaps she just thought she was Loki? (This is literally the only way I would accept a Loki/Sylvie romantic pairing.)

4. The timekeepers are fake. This is all very wizard of Oz isn't it? I'm thinking its just gonna be that Kang dude everyone is talking about from the comics with Ravonna as his second in command.

So what does everyone else think? Come chat with me about this because its driving me crazy!!!

I MISSED THE AFTER CREDIT SCENE WAT WAS THAT?!

Did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?

Definitely more!! Falcon & the Winter Soldier seized me by the throat and forcibly dragged me back into the Bucky Barnes fandom, and I am not complaining!

Did you take any writing risks this year?

I started writing a lot more explicit non-con fics. Previously, non-con had always intrigued me, but I’d been too much of a coward to really do more than passingly allude to it. 2021 was the first year I wrote a bonafide rape scene.

I’m not sure this counts as a risk, exactly, but I also started to be more deliberate with making/following an outline before I started writing during 2021. Previously I’d just often have a loose outline, if that, and then just kinda write and see what happened.

Do you have any writing goals for the new year?

Errr… not really? I’d like to get at least a fic out a month, and maybe work on a multi-chapter thing or two, but I’m not sure I have any well-defined goals haha!
