Event Spotlight:

There is a new Shadowy Figure going around, recruiting mortals in his cause against the gods. Using means that are yet unknown, he is giving them the power to kill deities while he is in their presence.

However, this power comes with a terrible cost. The Curse of Orcus is still not fully understood, but seems to have a lot of dark side effects like light sensitivity, lack of impulse control, heightened emotions, and defective magic. What could these side effects mean? Will they get worse, or progress to another stage?

These characters will be heavily tied into the coming site plot, and whether they are delivered from their curse or proceed to the next stage depends entirely on the actions your character takes.

Poseidon, the King of Atlantis and God of the Seas, has uncountable children, and he has asked two of them to patrol the shores of Los Angeles and fight back the sea monsters which have been making landfall lately. Nick Dupont, a recently discharged Navy SEAL, and his half-brother, Andrei Vasiliev, a retired Marine, are here to fight back the threats the world at large can never know about... this time from under the sea. Character Spotlight: Wanted! Apollo

Apollo, god of the light, music and prophecy, is the son of Zeus and the titan Leto. Hera was so enraged when she found out that Leto was with child, she refused to allow her to give birth anywhere on the surface of earth. But one tiny island seemed to revolt to the Queen of the Gods orders, and so on a the small island of Delos, Apollo and his twin sister Artemis were born. Like his father, Apollo is known to enjoy the company of others far too much, known for his conquests which rival his fathers, he has never entered into a marriage. He once offered his Lyre to Demeter for Persephone's hand, but that is as close as he ever come to marriage.

Lyre, laurel wreath, python, raven, swan, bow and arrows, the sun.

One of the three most powerful gods, Poseidon is the god of the sea, storms, earthquakes, and horses. The brother of Zeus and Hades, he gained dominion over the waters of the earth after trapping the Titans in Tartarus. He has many lovers and subsequently many offspring. Demeter, goddess of the harvest and agriculture, daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She presided also over the sacred law, and change over of the seasons. Known for her controlling nature, she kept her daughter hidden away from the bad influences of Olympus. Sadly, it did not keep her daughter as pure as she would have liked since she was STOLEN by that wretch Hades. When Demeter heard about Persephone's affair she had locked her away in a cave to protect her, and the so called "King" kidnapped her. At least, that's her story, which she will tell loud and long. The result was Demeter spreading plague and famine through the world until her daughter was returned to her. Currently, she owns and operates the largest multinational corporation involved in marketing and distributing food products. Persephone and Hades are already in play, so there is plenty to jump into right away!

Hephaestus, the son of Zeus and Hera, god of fire, metalworking, stone masonry, forges and the art of sculpture. His relationship with his parents a complex one. Tales would say Hera tossed him from Mount Olympus for being deformed, but truth was, he just never quite got along with his mother. No deformities, but the rumor mill being as it was, had to account for why Hera disliked her legitimate son. Always far closer to Hestia, Hephaestus spends most of his time at work in his forge creating all manner of things, like the Phoenix.

Hephaestus is currently the most wanted character on the site right now, with Aphrodite, Ares, and the first phoenix in play already. There is another player who wants to create a demi-god, son of Hephaestus as well so this is one of those characters with plenty to do right off the go!
