Digital artist and solo indie game developer. Currently developing TANKETTES and GALAXY RANCHER. Things may get mildly spicy sometimes. NO N/F/T or A/I. EVER! He/Him
The last animated Franky for the year! I have one more post for the big day tomorrow! I originally had this planned as a static drawing but the sketch didn’t really have the dynamic feeling I was trying to evoke, so I spent 2 days animating it in Hexels instead.
A NEW animated Franky! He’s been having a little too much candy this month (haven’t we all?). I thought I was finished with all these for the month but I still have one more to make.
Gonna be cutting it close this year.
It's weird because it feels like I'm drawing and animating high volumes(quickly) for the first time in a long time because these Halloween pieces aren't for my indie games. But in truth, I have been doing SO MUCH MORE art pretty much non-stop for the last 4 years on those. Funny how the work gets compartmentalized in my brain.
Another NEW Franky for your Spooky Friday! Of course I was going to draw him in a tank eventually, I've only spent the last 4 years straight thinking about and making things related to tanks. This one is inspired by Sabaton's song "Ghost Division" though this is a bit more literal.
A new animated Franky! Had "Chain Saw" by Ramones song stuck in my head all month! At least it’s appropriate for the season! Animating this was a pain because I decided to add the blood spatters AFTER I already animated it.
Franky’s undeath, as a mummified werewolf vampire, is linked directly to the phases of the moon. He doesn’t have long and after a few cycles of death and undeath, he started maximizing his partying time when he is undead.
Who’s that hairy fellow under the hood? It’s Franky! The mummified werewolf vampire! He technically doesn’t need to consume blood, since his mummy’s curse is enough to keep him going. But his werewolf curse gives him voracious appetites for his vices (and sometimes human flesh) so he indulges his vampiric nature whenever he can. Don’t ask him what he did with the bodies…
Here's one of the new Franky pieces I made last week in the lead up to October. He's a mummified werewolf vampire. Or is he a vampiric werewolf mummy? Maybe a were-mum-pire? You decide! He's been a recurring character I've drawn since I started digital art 14 years ago. I seven more new ones to post so you'll be seeing him all month long! This year all of them have been inspired by songs on my Halloween playlist.
I've been quiet for a while. The whole Unity debacle threw me for a bit of a loop just as development on TANKETTES was heating up. Now that Unity has recanted and everyone has made peace with abandoning their platform, myself included, it is time to refocus a bit. For now I'm going to take a little break from game development and indulge in my annual month of Halloween celebration. I have some catching up to do on my Halloween pieces since I missed at least 8 Halloweens over the last 14 years of my digital art journey. I will be posting some old stuff mixed with some new stuff with lots of new material of my OC Franky (the mummified werewolf vampire). So expect lots of spooky goodness multiple times a week here and on Instagram. It may get a little grisly and gruesome. It starts now with this old animation I made in 2015. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
As the month of Halloween begins again this year (2023) I have made lots more of him to make up the gaps in those 13 years. Expect a new one every Saturday!
I created this character in 2009 named Franky. He's a mummified werewolf vampire! He's the mascot for the parties (called WTH) my friends and I throw whenever we can on Halloween. In 2022 I made my first animated Franky and made a collage of all of them from over the years. He was one of the very first things I ever made with a tablet in photoshop.
The third of my original mechs based on old sketches. Unlike the other two that focus on armor or firepower, this one focuses on mobility. It also has a strange, low profile so that it is more difficult to hit as it sprints and leaps across the battlefield to harass its targets.
Further developing the idea for a mecha game. Trying to establishing a good aesthetic for the major factions. The first one prioritized armor. This one prioritizes firepower. Only took me 10 years to do something with the sketch. lol
Making my own original mech. Thinking of a scenario that's halfway between Battletech and Gundam with an emphasis on the the giant robots being used in environments unfit for human survival. Space, minimal atmosphere, high radiation, etc.
Sparkle, sparkle little microwave rifle!
A closer look. It needs a solid name. Thinking of calling them MAC units. (Mechanized Armored Combat)
