It’s 2:54 am at my place as I’m writing this, 6:54 in Kemerovo and the mall is still ablaze.

No fire alarms, closed emergency exits, no proper fire inspections even since the mall was opened in 2013.

Official press reports about 40 people dead but there can be over 50 now.

The only way to get somewhat honest info about what’s happening is watching YouTube streams, which I ended up doing as soon as I’ve got home from work. One youtuber streamed firefighters’ radio online while another one was deploying his drone to catch a close view.

And this all compared to 1 minute long report on Russia 24 (Россия 24) channel.

And it’s been only a week after Putin was re-elected (once again).
