Yesterday we had a fight that included a Behir!! I personally felt like he should be a friend because he so many arms for hugging, but my DM disagreed for some reason.

My Zombie Beholder! We fought him in an incredibly cold place, which influenced his palette and look.

Last weekend, my D&D group hit a classic milestone- we fought our first Beholder (and two Beholder Zombies)!
I painted this early last year and while I'm happy with how it turned out, I was terrified to see it at the table. VERY luckily, no one died!

The biggest thing for me is my over-ear headphones and music, but that alone is not always enough to get the ball rolling and keep my productivity up. Here are other things that really help me:
What I choose to listen to while working hugely depends on the kind of work I'm doing. For example, if I'm working with an art medium that I'm very familiar and comfortable with, I can listen to whatever- music, podcasts, video essays, etc. However, if I'm working on something that demands my full attention, I specifically have a playlist I use that is lyric-free. I find that when I'm trying to focus on something and a song with lyrics pop up, I am more likely to get distracted by them, especially if I need to read things.
The device I use to listen to music is old as hell, and is always on airplane mode. I never, ever connect it to the internet. Here's the thing: while I could listen to the same music on my computer, when my headphones are plugged into my PC it is waaaay too easy for me to just pause the music and get sidetracked or procrastinate by scrolling social media or watching videos. By making sure what I'm plugged into is exclusively for listening to music, that helps me push away some of the temptation to do addictive internet things.
SPEAKING OF TEMPTATION, I actively put my phone at least a little bit out of reach of where I'm sitting to work. Not to the point where I can't hear or see it, but more so to curb my impulse to grab it and start scrolling. Sometimes I'll put it in a drawer or something, because my brain truly follows the rule of "out of sight, out of mind", so that extra step really helps me focus on my task.
I write out my thought process a lot, especially when starting work for the day. I'll type out things like "Ok, what do I need to accomplish today", and then actually use that to kind of give myself a clear and cohesive to-do list. This helps make the task feel more tangible and doable.
Actually starting on difficult work fucking sucks, but what I've found like it's kind of like a pool- once I actually dive in, I am in. Take the plunge and no matter how difficult it is, KEEP PUSHING til you're making good progress.
Over many years of struggling, these are things I've learned that have helped me quite a lot. Everyone is different of course, maybe none of this is a good fit for you personally. But I hope any of this helps you or anyone else reading it, even in the slightest. Be kind to yourself and keep at it. I believe in you!!!
ADHD HAVERS HELP - how do you make yourself sit down and do work. it's like pulling teeth and I'm getting frustrated & embarrassed bc its stuff that comes to me naturally & should be easy......but i somehow just fucking Cant

PSA: Tumblr/Wordpress is preparing to start selling our user data to Midjourney and OpenAI.
you have to MANUALLY opt out of it as well.

to opt out, click your blog ➡️ blog settings ➡️ scroll til you see visibility options and it’ll be the last option to toggle.
you also have to opt out for each blog you own separately, so if you’d like to prevent AI scraping your blog i’d really recommend taking the time to opt out. (source)

CONTENT WARNINGS: Flashing, Trauma, Blood, Death
So I've been playing my current homebrew game of D&D since January 2022, and I've really been loving it. I've kept thinking about what's happened to my character Liza, so over the past year I put together this animatic.
I mostly made this for myself, but if you care to watch: thank you so much for watching ❤

Hey fellow mini painter! I had to let you know, I love the work you've been posting! I have a HUGE soft spot for myconids 💜🍄 keep up the great work!
Oh my gosh, THANK YOU!! I also have a soft spot for Myconids- I sometimes think about painting a bunch of them, each based on different kinds of mushrooms haha
Thank you for your kind words!! I love painting minis, so I'll definitely have more to post. In fact, I'll tell you a little secret… I don't post minis to my Tumblr or Insta until my fellow players have seen them in our D&D game- I don't want to spoil them in case our DM has plans to use them. But recently, I got a bluesky account (impocketsized)! And since that service is kept a bit more under wraps, I've started posting all the minis I'm happy with there including ones that haven't been used in our home game yet. So if you'd like to see more and have a bluesky account, feel free to take a look there! Thank you again for your support! 😄
