I have been thinking about this sketch again recently. I just thought it was really neat and I really love the composition of everything, and when you think you’ve seen all there is to see, there is another little detail. 

It is just very cool art.

There is another half page of Ranboo related sketches (the other half of the page included the “DO NOT READ” book and Enderchest the cat... and there was a common roll... but that was a disaster before it started). So these were the scribbles that I kind of liked (Thinking about it now, they’re not half bad for some phone art...).

I also wanted to post something before the end of the year.

The amount of times Ranboo auto-corrected to Bamboo hurt me...

This a good story idea... 

Don’t mind me... just reliving some old memories...

What if…

Everyone is human as a child. But as they grow up, they gradually change into their spirit animal. They’re still human but with animal features and characteristics, like a centaur. By the time they are 21 they have fully evolved to become half human half spirit animal. Once they have fully evolved, they join clans of their spirit animals, (all the horses are one clan, foxes are another) they are beautiful, strong, some fierce, some adorable. The spirit animals can range from horses to mythical creatures.

This would actually be so cool. I’d probably be a sloth 😂

  Ranger: Is there a wood work shop?

  DM: Yes.

  Ranger: Is there a pie shop?

  DM: Yes...

  In this campaign I am in my character is a Half-elf ranger and I love him. 

  His first objective was to get to this burning town(which he got to very reluctantly) and the first thing he requested was to loot the town. Obviously the town was already down on its valuables as it was just raided and his hopes of finding anything were even lower the lower I rolled…

  DM: You find a wooden spoon and-

  Ranger: Yep that’s mine.

  Now he forever has a wooden spoon that he carries with him and he loves it.

  Ranger: Err... Hello?

  Elderly Woman: I couldn’t help but notice your wooden spoon, my husband had one just like it be for he died. Where did you get your spoon?

  Me(out of character): *sigh* This is a secret plot thingy...

  Ranger: Nope can’t be yours, my father gave me this spoon.

  Dragon Born Party Member: Just give the lady the spoon, we can buy another.

  Ranger: But it is my spoon!

I smiled... then I watched... then I cried. Then I realized it was 2 a.m. in the morning so I went to bed... I woke up after a healthy 9 hours of sleep and cried some more... Your animatics are on another level! Having the ability to make an emotional connection with the viewer is fantastic! Now excuse me I'm off to do some re-watching of my new favourite SBI animatic... :)

Hello! Stumbled across your blog and saw you could answer what I always wanted to know... I have these characters(B and C) who have just just meet my protagonist(A). A, B and C are now going to travel for an extended period of time together and I'm unsure how to fill the silence to their destination... Is there also a suitable way/time to introduce the antagonist? Sorry I'm asking so many questions... But here's another one: What is an intriguing motive of a villain? Loving your blog! :)

I can’t really say anything about the antagonist as I don’t know enough about your story, to say when they should come in. For the motive, it’s similar it depends on what fits the story (is it supernatural, is it really dark, etc.) But you could check out my post about how to create a villain, maybe there is something in there that can already help you.

For the ‘fill the silence’ part: also kind of depends on the situation. Were they supposed to meet up, is it just car-sharing, is there a life-or-death-situation they are fleeing from, is the place good or bad that they are going to...?

But if they just met and didn’t know each other before, it’s most likely going to be a small-talk at first, to get to know each other and kind of check out if they have similar interests. The conversations then would go deeper over time. Travelling for a while would also probably lead to some stops, maybe they stop at a diner or to get gas on the way and you could fit in a scene about that. They could also have a debate about their music tastes, which is also a good opportunity to show some of you’re characters’ personalities to the reader. They would also probably talk about where they are going to and what they will do there.
