Reading Between The Lines - Chapter 10

What if Shinobu-sama is wrong? What if Inosuke won’t wake up? Was his head damaged in the fight? Would he only live on in a comatose state? And what about Tanjirou-san?

Drops of water fell onto Inosuke’s face, splattering. Her tears.

That sort of existence would be far too cruel for a person like Inosuke. If it came to that, she really would crumble then.

More tears escaped as she picked up the cloth again, washing his face with tender motions. They kept falling when she ran her fingers through his silky hair with the lather of shampoo, massaging his scalp. She let the base of his skull rest in the basin again and thoroughly rinsed out the suds.

“Y-You could u-use a haircut…” Aoi sniffled.

For some reason this posted to my sideblog, so I'm going to reblog it here!

Finally, Inosuke discovered an human concept he can eat!

I wish I could have done more for Inosuke's birthday (since it fell on Earth Day, I had some other ideas), but between work, house chores, and other projects, chibis were all I could manage. But that means I can do something different next year! I referenced both Gotouge's style, as well as the chibis from Kimetsu Gakuen, but i think my own chibi style still shined through. Happy birthday, Inosuke!

There's an official proposal to the EU to tax the rich!

You only need to be a EU citizen to sing it. The goal is 1 million signatures before october 2024, and we're already at 140.000!

If you need extra incentive to sign, the French have the most signatures as of right now. You wouldn't want the French to be better than you, right? And if you are French, well, Italians are second right now, you wouldn't want the Italians to catch up, right?

Inosuke wasn’t sure why he remembered those exact words Shinobu had spoken many months ago, but it sent his blood boiling.

Does this guy think he’s going to take Aoi away and eat her food every day?!

Judging by the vibes Aoi was giving off, she wasn’t okay with this either. She was utterly terrified.

“Why would I develop those kinds of feelings for that inoshishi no nou? He doesn’t even know how to behave around girls! He’s loud, uncouth, and acts like a wild animal. Not to mention he’s really annoying! All he thinks about is being the strongest and filling his stomach!”

Shinobu giggled. “That is all very true. But it’s only because Inosuke-kun is naïve about being human. He just needs the right people to teach him. There’s probably a girl out there willing to put up with him to help him to learn what being human is.”

“Well, in that case, he can just go back to Itsukaichi and visit Miku-san’s bakery.” Aoi took the karaage out of the frying pot and placed the fried pieces on a cloth to drain the oil. Inwardly, she was seething. “She was all too eager to help him. I’m sure she’d teach him well enough.”

“Would you be okay with that, Aoi?”

A bamboo forest surrounded the dirt road they traveled on from both sides. A part of Aoi wanted to tell him to not go deeper into the darkness of the woods, but seeing how Inosuke marched forward so surely, put her more at ease. It was probably best not to make themselves easy targets for demons out in the open.

“Have you been to this forest before?” she asked to break the sinister silence and calm her racing heart.

“No, but I have already been scouting around for a bit now with my Spatial Awareness. There is a spot we can stay not far from here.”

"Must be pretty awesome to have a heightened sense as you do," she said wistfully. When he didn't boast about how great he was, she added teasingly, "What, not singing your own praises for once?"

Inosuke paused mid-step for the briefest of moments, standing stock-still.

Aoi blinked. “What is it, Inosuke-san?” she whispered.

A scene I drew from chapter six of my fic, Reading Between The Lines.

It was hard drawing Inosuke's swords, and the background was a challenge with my limited drawing programs (and I know they aren't the their accurate heights), but I am rather happy with the cell shading, as I tend to go for soft cell shading.

“I’m fine.” Aoi glanced at him without turning her head. “You’re just giving me a headache, like you always do.”

Inosuke was uncertain of what exactly a headache was. “Huuhn? Your head hurts?” He was making her feel pain?

“Yeah, but it’ll go away,” she said, waving him off.

He silently stared at her as they walked, not sure what to do. How can I make her head stop aching? If he was the cause of the headache then surely he was the key to warding it off.

They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.

“Personal feelings aren’t supposed to matter so much between us.” Aoi averted her eyes quickly.

He tilted his head in confusion. “Why?”

“Because you’re my patient,” she replied as if that explained everything.

“So?” He couldn’t grasp her point.

“It’s unprofessional!”

Inosuke snorted. “So what!” He intentionally made it more of a loud statement than a question. Her reasoning made no sense to him.

On the other side, Inosuke became mildly bewildered by who they met in the training area. Moi? What is she doing here? He peered around to find that the only other occupants in the room were the three little girls, who acted as Shinobu's and Aoi's minions, and a girl with a side ponytail he hadn't seen before. Maybe they're here to judge who will get to receive Shoi's cooking every day. Inosuke puffed out his chest, his breath steaming out of his boar nostrils. I won't lose!

Before he or Tanjirou could ask Shinobu about the training, she left, shutting the door behind them. Inosuke reached out with his Spatial Awareness technique, searching for whoever might be their real opponents in this training. Besides Tanjirou, Zenitsu, and a few other male vibes – clearly belonging to those Kakushi people – he sensed no other strong males present at the Butterfly Mansion.

Aoi stepped toward them, her blue eyes focused and her lips set in its usual serious frown. "Please sit and I'll explain Functional Recovery Training."
