#ladies n gents i am asking once again for prayer..... for what feels like the hundredth time this year #i am going to have to break up with Mr knight and it isn't going to be easy #and it's gonna have to be soon #lord have mercy on an exhausted girl #it's just too many differences and a very different outlook on things in life that i think are important #like finance management mutual spiritual growth connection with community #emotional vulnerability and also ideas about the future and planning for it #but most of all. i cannot share my love for stories with him #and I've tried. but it's just not something he's interested in listening to or indeed understanding #that hurts a tad. i don't think i can marry a man who i can't share that part of me with #will not go into further details but that's where things are #sorry for vaguely sad and pessimistic posts i am very numb and resigned #suffice it to say #i would also like to write love letters to someone who will write back #instead of telling me he received them and saying thanks #i am very unhappy indeed. and cannot go on like this long term #that's all #I've wanted to either cry throw up scream or simply collapse in my bed for the past little while because of this #i wanted it to work out! i WOULD'VE loved him for a lifetime #and thought i was asking too much or being too selfish in wanting reciprocation #in many things #but i am simply exhausted. i have done a fair bit of crying so i shan't any longer #😭😭😭😭😭😭 would very much like a hug and a cup of tea #it had been a very long couple of weeks #slings and arrows of outrageous fortune in year 21

How the tables have turned .  Heat rises to their face ,  paints their cheeks a soft shade of pink they can only hope goes unnoticed .  Not because they couldn’t handle a bit of teasing ,  should Ayaks finally decide to get his revenge after all the times Adrian has (lovingly) poked fun ,  but because this tenderness isn’t something they’re used to .  And they’d rather not let that be known .

Ayaks fears nothing .  And while that might make him a fool in some aspects ,  Adrian can’t help but to admire that most about him .  He is unafraid on the battlefield just as much as he is unafraid to love ,  to feel  . . .  to express his desires .  Perhaps there is a part of them that envies as well ;  that wishes they could want ,  too ,  and not feel shame in doing so .

Adrian doesn’t pull away but they don’t feel deserving of his touch either .  There is something gentle ,  almost reverent in the way his lips press against their palm .  Though divinity still lies beneath the surface ,  they had given up godhood long ago .  What could be left for a warrior like him to admire ,  if not power ?

Conflicted ,  Adrian does what they do best  —  push aside uncertainty ,  apprehension ,  in favor of an easy smile .   “  You missed .  ”   If it’s affection Ayaks intends to give ,  they will take it .  Always .  Even if their cheeks burn with the shame of wanting more .   “  My lips are up here .  ”

The short answer is he does! The long answer is... slightly more complicated. Soma is a romantic at heart, which is to say he likes showing and receiving affection in both subtle and visible ways, but because of his title (first as a Date prince, then as the Date captain, then as a grand general) along with his entourage (friends & vassals alike), he never really stopped to consider the possibility of using nor receiving petnames besides maybe once or twice as a child. In fact, he never even stopped to consider the possibility of nicknames since no one ever brought them up to him and generally it's frowned upon for anyone who doesn't share his title to use one for him.

He knows petnames exist, he thinks they're nice, but he doesn't think they'll ever be used in relation to him because of everything above. As a child he used to giggle and kick his feet thinking about his special other calling him a petname one day, but he abandoned the idea rather quickly over a decade ago when he noticed Tsubasa didn't even drop the honorifics when referring to him (calling him "Soma-kun" instead of simply "Soma"), let alone come up with something more personal for him, and ever since then he never unearthed the possibility again even long after he got over his feelings for her.

Like pretty much everything related to romance, this too was affected by his dynamic with Tsubasa and the way he doesn't think something that's very much normal for couples (i.e actually being in love with him, being physically affectionate with him, giving him a petname etc) won't happen to him specifically. He's not used to it. So while he's steadily grown used to the first two examples courtesy of Seiroku, he never bothered to think about petnames since Seiroku never brought them up. If he were to receive a petname, he'd definitely like it, bless his romantic heart (although he might self-combust at first because 'HUH'), but they're not necessary. He can do with or without one.

As for whether he's going to use one, he would, but only in response to him first receiving one. He doesn't want to overstep anymore (considering how well that went with Tsubasa...) so he's not going to start using petnames without prompting (or without knowing for certain that Seiroku wants any/is fine with them), but he would definitely respond in kind if it came down to it.
