......all the lil dudes running around the moon kinda look like a child version of the Happy Mask Salesman, the only other model I find them similar to are the bombers.
And the moon is obviously heaven like who wouldn't want to go there when they die personally that tree makes me think "tree of life" but this is me blabbing
But with all that said and a theory I once heard about the Happy Mask Salesman being a deity (also considering he resides in a place unaffected by time and isn't tempted by an evil mask, the children of the moon also mention him) has me at a hmmmmm now.
Like the children are angels and the Mask Salesman is a moon deity. The moon is symbolic of healing, magic, and wisdom. The Mask Salesman is aware of Link's "terrible fate" of being turned into a Deku, and heals him through magic of song, and passes this along. Not only does he heal Link, the song gives the ability to turn broken souls into masks. He states it's magic and healing. The Mask Salesman knows every mask in Link's possession and its powers. He notes Link possesses "tremendous courage". He's able to tell by holding Majora's Mask that it's purified. He always knows how much time Link has, despite residing in a place unaffected by time. Why is it unaffected by time?? The moon is of water element. Water is fluid, moving, easily changeable in form. This is personified in just about every interaction with him. As a Cancer rising, the Mask Salesman is quite the erratic and emotional character.
Link, Skull Kid and the Mask Saleman are all from Hyrule. (Confirmed through in-game text) They all traveled into the Lost Woods and found a parallel world, but before Link followed Skull Kid to Termina, Skull Kid found the Saleman first. Every event in the game was due to Majora's curse, likely even to the point of it getting snatched off the Mask Salesman, causing him to follow Skull Kid and bump into the Hero of Time, following him to Termina.
The Mask Salesman had the mask because he knew its powers. What better person? He's wise and passionate. Majora's Mask misfortuned the Mask Salesman by pure karma of being a cursed object, drawing Skull Kid to cross his path, causing the Mask Salesman to seek out who he already knew just saved Hyrule, the same boy he sold masks to in the Hyrule market. But where was the Mask Salesman after Link went forward in time 7 years? No where to be found in Hyrule, yet...SKull Kid is still in Lost Woods blowing blow darts at adult Link. But
As I said, when the Happy Mask Salesman meets Link in Termina, he's already aware Link saved Hyrule. "Is this not a simple task? Why, to someone like you, it should by no means be a difficult task" And what a condescending tone a frustrated, but knowing, mother would use. (Sun=Father Moon=Mother) Zelda turned back time, but the Mask Salesman knows Link saves Hyrule. He also knows before Link takes his first step into Clock Town, Link has a 3 day time limit.
AND all the Sages in Twilight Princess have masks we just gonna act like that's a coincidence ok. What about every concept design of Midna having a mask and landing on the one that has the EXACT SAME EYE as Majora's. The Mask Salesman says himself that Majora's Mask comes from an ancient tribe.
I mean wtf is all this.

I didn't notice I wrote "A link between worlds" 2 times instead albw and botw. Here's the new poll, the other is gettiong deleted rn!
Anyway 10 games left!
Round 8!! It's getting difficult, isn't it?
During the last round we lost Spirit Tracks. If I were to remove 2 games, I should have picked TotK too, as it's the second most voted, but I prefer to just yeet only the most voted out.
Spirit Tracks... I like it. The story should have been better, I don't really like the Lokomos, but Byrne's arc is great! Also the pan flute was kinda hard to play but satisfying nonetheless! And playable Zelda was the best mechanics in the game (the worst were the evil trains)! It was also the third best Zelink after SkSw and TotK!
Back to the poll, remember to vote the game you think is the worst out of these in the list! Please don't vote a game if you don't know it! Knowing means having played the game (even not completed), watched a gameplay, read the wiki! Having read the manga is ok too, I can't think of any other things rn but I hope you got what I mean :D
Reblogs are appreciated, since for obvious reasons I won't tag this as Linked Universe, but the majority of my interactions come from that fandom!

My Top 10 Favorite Zelda Games
(Excluding Spin-Offs like Hyrule Warriors)
Number 10. Link’s Awakening DX - This game… it’s not quite memorable, but the atmosphere, and chibi stylization make the experience feel nice.
Number 9. Spirit Tracks - Link and Zelda honestly make this game, but aside from that, this is one of the funner 2D Zelda games and the little unique features it had make it stand out.
Number 8. A Link Between Worlds - What’s this? A game where Link and Zelda have dark counterparts? Sounds like shit on paper, but the way it’s executed make these counterparts seem less like eviler variants of the duo, and more like people with personalities that are the complete opposite of the duo. As for the gameplay? It’s still pretty fun.
Number 7. Skyward Sword - A surprisingly great prequel to every single game in the series, with incarnations of Link and Zelda that feel like people, the Great Grooose, and the absolute icon that is Ghirahim. Still the gameplay is much to be desired and I’ll never forgive Nintendo for creating The Imprisoned.
Number 6. Twilight Princess - Good gameplay, good story, great secondary antagonist, great aesthetic, Midna herself is amazing, the final boss was great, and this game feels like an epilogue of Ocarina of Time, while also doing its own thing and expanding upon the lore.
Number 5. Wind Waker - This game… is far from perfect. Actually Twilight Princess if superior if you want to talk about mechanics, but this is arguably one of the most compelling versions of Link and Zelda’s tale in the series. Link here started out as just a kid who wanted to save his sister and Zelda started out as a young pirate, but both ended up basically getting dragged into an ordeal that’s bigger and a lot older than them. I’d write about this game in full because there is a good amount to talk about, but it’s nice.
Number 4. A Link To The Past - This may just be personal preference talking, but I love this game. This was the true progenitor of everything that people love about Zelda Games, and it honestly has the best interpretation of Classic Ganon and its not even close. Sure the gameplay is kinda outdated, but it’s a whole fun ass game and a case where the ancient stuff is great.
Number 3. Majora’s Mask - Despite only being Number 3, this game is on par with the next entries on this list. It’s easily the most horrific, creepy, and sadder Zelda games, but there’s more to it. This game can be funny now and again, while also being weirdly heartwarming. It juggles multiple things at once, and it’s surprising because you’re playing it while everything is on a literal doomsay timer. Then there’s the looming threat of Majora, a mysterious evil entity with the mind of a child who is the perfect Non-Ganon antagonist.
Number 2. Breath of The Wild - Revolutionary. The open world gameplay, the story that is told through flashbacks and the environment, Zelda’s characterization, and most importantly, the atmosphere. This game not only returned the series to its roots, but with the power of technology, it became a modern masterpiece.
Number 1 (TIE). Ocarina of Time & Tears of The Kingdom - I wanted to seperate these two games, but if I’m being honest both are amazing. Everyone and their parents talk about Ocarina of time being a masterpiece and they certainly don’t lie. The gameplay, while old, is still revolutionary for its time and aged well in comparison to other N64 games, but the story of this kid named Link growing up into the hero who slayed the King of Evil, aged like fine wine. As for Tears of The Kingdom? The story isn’t as perfect as Breath of The Wild’s was, but the good outweighs the bad because Ganondorf is the scariest he’s been since his debut, the addition of the Zonai add a level of intrigue, the liveliness of Hyrule this time around help keep the game feel different, the larger hub world, the absolute horrors that are The Depths, and the game’s consistent theme of sacrifice and what it means. In short, both these games somehow just vibe with me.

thebleedingeffect has put the fierce deity back in my frontal lobe and i have been Thinking About Him will studying and I just—
in hyrule you have The Big Four: Din/Nayru/Farore create the world and give it to Hylia who then watches over/protects it. we know there are other deities, like lord jabu jabu and valoo and the deku tree, but they more race based? territory based? and seem to come and go with time. so im counting them as gods, not Gods, ya know? but we have entire other worlds that we know have religions, like Lorule who have a triforce and so must have some version of din/nayru/farore as well. but i wanna talk abt termina.
we have a few spirits/deities that are unique to Termina: the great turtle, probably something tied to the stone tower temple, the goddess of time, the fierce deity, and majora. I consider the last three, the goddess of time, the fierce deity, and majora, to be Gods with a capital g. the goddess of time is mentioned numerous times in majora's mask, mostly invoked when asking for protection, and time is clearly culturally important to the people of termina (terminins??) so i figure she would be a pivotal part of the people of termina's religion. I see her as a goddess of protection and creation; she isn't cruel or kind, she just Is. she's unbias and unwavering just like the passage of time. she creates peace through apathy. her existence can be boiled down to "this too shall pass." i think that's why so many people were so willing to stay in clock town with the moon falling-- everything has its time, just as the goddess says.
her foil? the God that stands opposite to her? the other side of her coin? the fierce deity. where the goddess is apathetic, he is full of passion. where she is unbias, he has his favorites whom he is dedicated to. she gives protection to all, he brings Justice to those who know how to ask. he promises prosperity through violent righteousness. He isn’t evil, just unrepentant and determined, willing to bring and uphold Justice even through violence, while the goddess of time instead sits back and watches her children from afar. if the goddess is "this too shall pass", then he is "seize the day by any means necessary".
he and majora are constantly pushing agaisnt each other while the goddess holds things together through time itself. the fierce deity keeps majora in check, and vice versa. somehow, though, the deity falls out of favor in termina and eventually fades from regular worship (which has something to do w the mask but im still working on that) and i think it kinda fucked with the balance of termina's universe. they're down a God! the world is out of balance! without him, majora has no one to keep them from expanding! and that's just disaster waiting to happen. but until then, the only one remembered and revered anymore is the goddess of time.

You're the Author of Drive a Man Mad on AO3 aren't you? I love your interpretation of the Fierce Deity, it holds closer to his original name of the Oni Mask, which in English is Demon Mask. Wonder why they changed it for localization but oh well Fierce Deity means we can all claim Time is a God, or at least partly a God due to the influence of the mask.
I really hope to see more Fierce Deity works out of you at some point when you have the creative drive, I may just be one stranger on the internet, but I'm a stranger on the internet who finds joy in reading your works, so that's an accomplishment of a sort.
Oh my gosh THANK YOU
It took me a bit to decide how I wanted to write Fierce but I’m glad I took the route I did in the end. Although Fierce Dadity is super fun to write, creepy, power-hungry, possessive Fierce is just too deliciously angsty to pass up. I’m kinda obsessed with him being a literal “Demon Mask.”
(Honestly if they’d kept the name the same across translations it would’ve paired better with the whole “could this mask be even more evil than Majora?” question.)
But anyway THANK YOU again for your kind words! 💚💚 It’s messages like these that keep me writing!

okay so A while back I had the weirdest dream. I was playing a video game and then suddenly I was INSIDE the game. Wich isn’t anything new of course, I bet many people had this kinda dream before. The weird part was what happened. What started out as a horror-esque rpg-like game that looked a bit like a highly realistic Fear and Hunger mixed with Majoras Mask and had an ancient evil suddenly turned into a dating sim after I accidentally performed a spell. And the ancient evil didn’t turn into a hot guy or anything no it stayed the ancient evil A black mass vaguely shaped like a human with an undefineable face that shifted every few seconds and spoke with a voice so low it would shake your very core and  they’re shy! like I go up to them, at this point aware that it was a dream (I mean yeah, the thing with suddenly being in a video game kinda gave that away) and try to talk to them And I don’t remember much of what we talked about but I remember hearing “The reason your faceblindness makes you insecure is because you can’t even recall your own face most days and that makes you question if you’re real.”
and then I woke up and damn What a ride

( PART 2 ) I like all three names as well, with Kishin and Asura being neck and neck with being my favorites. You can also use the other names on the list as a surname if you think he will have one. For example, Kishin Zuruhon or Asura Kuvrudia.
Speaking of names, I figured Fierce Deity sword could have a name to strike fear into his enemies like how the Master Sword strikes fear into those who are evil.
So how does the name Shuraba sound? Translated from Japanese, it means The Scene of bloodshed or Scene of Carnage.
Considering that Fierce basically smacked Majora around like it owed him money and easily can send goons and other bosses to the Shadow Realm, it can be a fitting name.
Heck, from a popular game called Bayonetta which can wield a blade with the same name, this is its description.
A living katana, pulsing with the heart of Ashura, the Demon God of War. Always seeking blood, the blade will even suck the very souls of it's victims
Which to me sounds so rad. Like imagine the blade being a tiny bit sapient, and it could give FD's unique abilities! This makes me wish Nintendo could drop more lore on the Fierce Deity.
I don't think twili would have surnames, even more to let it simple and easy
About the sword name, it already have one, being Helix blade, the idea of the name u said and the meaning is really awesome not gonna lie but it kinda drifts from the setting and twili idea.. Tho even if the sword is not sentient it does have a aura that spreads fear through the enemies. and its abilities from majora's mask remains
And yeah I always wished nintendo could give us more lore about him, as well as termina, we never see much about it besides the amiibo items from BOTW

Random thought, can I call you Cloud or do you have a name you want to be referred to as on your blog? I haven't been here long (though I plan on sticking around) and I don't think I saw anything about a nickname for you in previous posts. If not, that's fine! And I'm very sorry if I missed a name or something.
Also!
I'm sorry but now I'm thinking of how the songs I do know how to play would effect the world.
I know Zelda's Lullaby, Saria's song, and Epona's song. I love to think of how much those would calm the group and I think convincing Epona to choose me over anyone else in the moment with a song would be hilarious.
But more so, I am thinking of what you said about Ravio, and how you could summon him with his song, and that got my brain going on which songs would invoke which emotions and would be best in different scenarios.
For examples; (and I know what you're thinking, here I go again with a list. Maybe it's just me thinking that.)
Saria's song would be brilliant for cheering up Time if (as you mentioned) he is grumpy and bringing down the mood of the group, however it might also have the opposite effect and make him sad as he might miss Saria.
Song of Healing is used in Majora's Mask and maybe it could be used to lift the spirits of the group after a difficult fight, or even just feeling down after a long day.
I'd like to think hearing Epona's song would put them in a good mood, simply because most of them are happy to think of horses.
The Gerudo song might actually have mixed results, as for somebody like Wild, he has good memories of the Gerudo, but somebody like Time, who has had to fight Gerudo Bandits might have a different reaction.
Basically, my point is that different songs would probably have different effects on the group based on their experiences with the song.
So... I would like to present Player using that as a way to mess with Legend and anyone else who gets on their nerve, playing songs of specific enemies that nobody else knows but has that one Link looking around frantically (only playing those songs when not in that creatures world, of course, wouldn't want to summon it.)
Little pieces of songs that sound familiar but to those who don't believe the Player's 'story' about playing the game, in their perspective, Player shouldn't know this song.
So on so forth. Just, being helpful and caring often, yes, but also being evil and spiteful when need be.
-Fruit Anon (oh gosh this is a lot longer than I planned. I'm sorry!)
HI AGAIN FRUIT, DONT YOU EVER APOLOGISE FOR ANYTHING YOUR REQUESTS FUEL ME AND MAKE ME SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY. THE LISTS MAKE ME VERY HAPPY KNOWING HOW MUCH THOUGHT YOU PUT INTO IT AND HOW MUCH YOU'RE ENJOYING IT.
Also, you guys can address me as Cloud! Or Shoobirino! Even Maia (My actual name) I dont mind anything!
Okay let's get onto the post!
I would definitely agree with the approach on Sara's song! I would think that it would definitely be something that The Player introduces a little later into theirs and Time's friendship, or maybe when it clicks how he knows the Player. Maybe he's grumpy missing his home, but then he just hears Saria's old song and just melts, maybe might even have a prep in his step that you have to be really perceptive to catch.
The Song of healing an agreement as well! But also consider while not outright healing them of any wounds after battles, it actually releaves the pain for them, just a little.
Epona's song brings recognition to some, not everyone, but it certainly does make them think of horses. I especially like the idea of Epona kinda recognising it and just trotting along to the sound, maybe sticking to the Player's side.
Along with your ideas about the regions, that some bring good or bad memories, imagine them bringing the atmosphere and when I mean atmosphere I mean, playing the Gerudo Desert theme makes their skin heat up, or Zora's Domain brings the sensation of water or the Lost Wood makes them think of the forest, hearing the birds chirp the sound of leaves crunching, branches breaking and just fills them with the sense of the area.
Also-
Legend: *Chats shit*
The Player, holding up their ocarina:.... HEY YOU WANNA HEAR THIS COOL FUCKING BEAT, IT'S ABOUT A RABBIT-
....
HEY WAIT WHAT IF THE PLAYER JUST HAD A FUCKING KAZOO-

Fi is a Fairy Spirit created by the Goddess. So this must mean that fairies are direct creations of the Goddess, kinda how the Gods created Hylians, or how Din, Farore, and Nayru created the golden power. It explains why Fairies are so inclined to Help the Hero. Only the Hero. Otherwise they are allusive to Hylian’s. Tingle is actively looking for Fairies and is obsessed with them; yet he has not found any in his quests. Their fairy fountains lay baron until the Hero seeks their aid. Unless the Fountain is abandoned like in the original LoZ game. I’ve mentioned this before but Zelda is known to travel to fountains to awaken her powers of the goddess from within. They could be fairy fountains to boot. The Hero also goes to fountains to seek power or to temper his sword. Fi is even reincarnated into the Queen of Fairies in some games like Four Sword and Wind Waker. I’m assuming this only happens when the Sword sleeps for long periods of time. When the Master Sword wakes and brought back to full power, Fi return to the blade. I mean Fi sounds like Fae. The idea that Hyrule has Fairy blood is very cute but it doesnt make all that much sense since there is no definitive evidence of male fairies. I suppose one can assume Tael, From Majora’s Mask, could be male but is not stated. People only speculate due to the dark color scheme, so if Tael is cool and if he is not cool. The point is fairies are mainly women. However Hylia’s bloodline is passed down to both men and women. Link from Link to the Past is Zelda’s sister and therefore also holds Hylia’s bloodline. It’s just not awakened due to Zelda, his sister, already going through the awakening process. Perhaps… Hylia’s bloodline is the concentrated form of Fairy blood and is not the same. Similar but not the same. Fairies are powerful beings but they don’t eclipse Hylia’s bloodline. They cannot seal Ganondorf or evil’s bane but simply aid to do so.
I love this. I love this so much. This also explains why Zelda can easily us magic or Link from Zelda ll can as well. If these people have Awakened the Sealing powers from within they can use Magic much more freely than that of the Hero. This just helps tie into my Blood Curse theory and how it can resurrect a god or Ganon. Oh my god. I’m so happy.

I'm working my way through all the Legend of Zelda games I can get my hands on. Oddly enough, it's Skyward Sword that got me invested in the rest of the series, haha. I played BotW and loved it, tried to play Link's Awakening and got frustrated so I quit, then I played Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and had fun just demolishing the enemies that used to kick my ass in botw, but still I wasn't like, invested in the series. Pretty much I just liked the botw stuff.
Then Skyward Sword HD came out and I went "sure why not?" Because I remember the game grumps hating it but I liked Sonic and the Black Knight for wii, and the switch has way better motion controls, so I figured I'd give it a go. (Plus I really wanted the themed joy-cons bc they're so pretty and it felt silly to get the joy-cons without having the actual game they're attached to.)
Anyways, I loved it. I don't see why people complain so much about the motion controls even on switch? I thought they were fine and I actually loved how engaging it made the combat, plus there's just an indescribable sort of joy involved in using the motion controls to draw the master sword and hold it over your head, okay? It's just fun.
Anyways, that's the first I guess 'standard' LoZ game I've played to completion. I got frustrated a few times with the puzzles, but I was invested enough to keep going until I figured it out. The final fight against Demise-Ganon had me cursing at my screen but when I finally beat him it was so satisfying, totally worth it imo.
And now that I have the story of the last Link (so far) and the first Link in the timeline, I'm curious enough about the space in between to take another shot at the other LoZ games I've given up on before. I just finished Ocarina of Time 3D, which was a lot easier than I remember now that I'm actually familiar with how a Zelda game is structured (basically find temple, solve puzzles, get new item, boss fight featuring new item, find the next temple-- ad nauseum).
I'm going into Hyrule Warriors: Definitive edition now (Warriors Link is so pretty haha, I see why people call him 'pretty boy' in LU fics/fanart lol). This is another game I tried before but I just wasn't invested enough in the characters to get into it? It also seemed too easy at the time, so I'm playing it on the higher difficulty, but I also know that if it's anything like Age of Calamity, it gives us a lot more story and interesting missions.
I have A Link Between Worlds to play next, assuming I can't get ahold of Majora's Mask for 3DS. Then I'll take another shot at Link's Awakening, I guess.
Any other suggestions for what I can play? I have a Switch and a 3DS, and my brother has a Wii but we don't have a Wii U.
Also, what I'm realizing about Legend of Zelda games, is that most of them are kinda like Fanfiction. They don't really do a good job of introducing their central Characters because they expect us to already recognize them. That's what's different about BotW and Skyward Sword; they do a really good job of setup, because for both of them, the hero is just as knowledgeless as the player. SS!Link knows nothing about great evil demons or the triforce, he's just a sleepyhead skyboy. They don't even have a kingdom yet, they just have a floating island with a school and some big-ass birds.
BotW does a GREAT job of introducing the world of Hyrule and everything in it because Link literally has no memories at the start of it. We learn everything that's going on as he does. And if you're interested in learning more, you can seek out his forgotten memories as an optional side quest. You don't have to, but you can if you're curious.
Comparatively, Age of Calamity relies heavily on you having played BotW, and the dramatic irony they can create from the player knowing one future as they help divert it from that path.
And Ocarina of Time doesn't really explain much about their characters. The Great Deku Tree's death is heartbreaking to me now, knowing that SS!Link planted him, and knowing the tree from BotW. But in OoT, it just kinda... happens? And didn't mean much of anything to me the first time I played the game. You know the Deku tree is supposed to be important, but not why. You see Zelda a grand total of one time before she runs away from the castle with Impa, and it's clearly supposed to be a dramatic scene, but we don't know her at all. Then Sheik shows up when you're an adult, shows up to teach you songs and then just leaves, and it's kinda clunky and doesn't really help us form an attachment to the character at all. Really, the only character besides link that is recurring enough and actually has speaking lines with personality is like... Navi, and maybe Malon, if you seek her out for Epona. Everyone else shows up like two or three times at most, and either has an instant crush on Link, or is just grateful for his help.
I enjoyed the game, playing it now, but I definitely had to care about the characters first-- I wouldn't have been able to get into this game if I wasn't already invested in Link's journey and kicking Ganon's ass.
So like, it suffers from fanfiction-syndrome, I think.
Anyways, this post is all over the place. Hope that made sense?

Meet My Links
Premise: Long after their adventures, the heroes have moved on and become more than just swordsmen chosen by destiny. But that doesn’t mean that destiny is done with them. Something’s wrong with the timelines, and the one through-thread of the hero’s spirit is pulled together. Are they here to fix things or be the one’s to break it?
Hyrule Warriors: General Link, (Hero of Era’s AKA Harmony), After defeating Cia and Ganondorf, Link was promoted even though Hyrule was finally at a time of peace. He shares the hero’s spirit with his twin sister Linkle and he might inadvertently be the cause of the timelines uniting as he’s the only incarnation of the hero’s spirit that knows the guardians of time. The War of Era’s connected the three main timelines that was caused by the Hero of Time and the War was kinda caused because Cia was horny for the hero’s spirit and for some reason was infatuated with this specific version of him. He still has issues with women to this day. Not because he’s just so much of a flirt, but because he’s had several traumatic experiences with manipulative and handsy women so he’s currently perpetually single. He’s uncomfortable with all the rumors that he’s with Queen Zelda but they’re besties so it’s not too bad.
Skyward Sword: King Link, (Hylia’s Chosen Hero AKA Evil’s Bane) The whole ‘becoming a king’ thing kind of happened on accident, He’s married to Zelda who is also Hylia and turned out to be a really good leader. He and Zelda know the surface the best out of all the sky people and they push forward with creating Hyrule. People just liked them so much that they wanted Link and Zelda to have more power as they figured out systems of government and one day Link was a King. For him it’s just a title but literally no once else thinks that. He’s trying his best and totally overwhelmed by the pressure that being the first king of Hyrule brings even though Zelda is fine doing most of the work. He’s generally very soft spoken and kind but when overly frustrated and overworked can get very angry. He can be incredibly scary. I mean he deserves it, he did kill the literal god demon king of evil. He kind of overcompensates for being late and not being enough to save Zelda during his adventure and is very prone to working until he’s exhausted and literally almost dead.
Ocarina of Time (and Majora’s Mask): Mr. LonLon, (The Forgotten Hero AKA Paradox/ Interloper) Not many people know (or believe) that he’s some legendary hero and he is mostly fine with this. He just wants to have a normal life with his wife on their ranch and hope that no one brings up the big scar over his eye. He usually lies about how he got it, even Malon isn’t sure if he told her the truth. There are records of his adventures in different timelines and in Termina but as far as most people in Hyrule know, he’s just a guy. Which is funny because in the adult timeline he’s much more of a legendary hero, being put in bedtime stories and songs and to him this is very weird. It’s almost weirder in the downfall timeline where he learns that he died. He really wants to be normal but he’s really not. He was raised by forest spirits and preceded to be traumatized as a child for a while. The Fierce Deity isn’t an asshole in this version and Mr. LonLon uses him when he wants to be tall or pop out and scare people. FD just doesn’t like to be trapped in the mask and is very excited to be on an adventure again so that he can kick ass. He very politely craves violence.
Twilight Princess: Mister Link, (The Cursed Hero AKA The Cavalry/ Executioner) After everything was done, he knew that he couldn’t be a simple farmer or a knight, so he kind of becomes a mercenary that kills monsters for money. He can’t stand being in the same place for long periods of time and has been using some unhealthy coping mechanisms to run away from his heartbreak and mental illness. He still likes animals and no matter where he goes they kind of follow him around. It’s kind of well speculated that he can turn into a wolf but no one has really seen it and it’s mostly gossip in taverns and such. It’s kind of an open secret even though he never outright says it. Things are a little shaky with the people of Ordon because of this and things are real weird whenever he manages to visit. Especially with Rusl.
Wind Waker (and Phantom Hourglass): Captain Link, (The Hero of the Great Sea AKA The Pirate) He’s not actually the captain, he’s just second in command to Tetra. He’s become about 1000% more piratey as he’s grown up. He’s still in his upper teenage years but he’s not a baby anymore. He has a parrot that he named after the king of red lions that he constantly refers to as ‘your highness’. He like’s jewelry now and is having the time of his life. It’s really a surprise that he’s still widely known as the hero with how he presents himself but he still has a love of iconic green. He’s reckless and constantly getting hurt and really good at pretending that his adventure’s haven’t fucked him up as much as they have.
Breath of the Wild (and BotW2): Sage Link (The Hero of Death/ The Hero of Rebirth AKA the Phoenix Hero/ The Necromancer) He has friendly cottagecore witch energy. Like he’s weird and everyone knows that he’s kinda spooky but he’s pretty nice and is good with kids and completely revived the potion making business so everyone is usually pretty chill about him. He can talk to ghosts and the champions tend to hang out with him a lot in their ghostly forms that very few can see. Zelda lives with him as once he said that he was becoming a hermit she practically begged him to let her join. They like to study plants together and do science and avoid reinstating the monarchy. He has a missing arm (Purah and Zelda made him a prosthetic tho) and a lot of very obvious scars that he’s pretty self conscious about so he generally wears a big hooded cloak, except when he’s in Gerudo Town because the veil hides some of the worst bits and no one gives a shit about scars there. He has a fucked up relationship with death as he technically cannot die. He has the champions powers but has learned to control them better and is kind of in denial about having magic. He just doesn’t think that it counts. Kind of eldritch and people can kind of tell that he’s not quite mortal and there’s something up with him. He can also kinda talk to gods (Hylia, the dragon spirits of the sacred springs, the horned statue, etc) He’s just a little beyond mortal. He’s accepted that he’s a totally different person than he was before he died and is doing his best to make a new life for himself. Still enjoys doing dumb shit though, but this time with some ghost magic.
Age of Calamity: Sir Link, (The Hero of Life AKA Guardian/ Champion/ Knight) Just a little guy who’s seriously courting the princess and might become king as the current king is declining in health and that is way more scary than the end of the world. As he learned pretty recently, he’s a really good leader and people like and trust him (weird), even after witnessing him eating rocks and using a soup ladle to kick the shit out of some monsters. Even though he’s some fancy lord now, he cannot be stopped when there is a fight near him. He will join it. Like he’s supposed to be too pretty and too high above going after bokoblin nests or whatever but literally no one can stop him from violence. He gets really sad when he’s not allowed to kick ass, like seriously, he’s trained with every weapon ever since he was a toddler and is easily the best ass kicker in Hyrule and he will not let some stuck up advisors tell him that it’s improper for him to get blood on his clothes. Other than that he’s very polite and is an excellent strategist. He has anxiety and just wants to be good at the things everyone wants him to be good at and he really struggles with the mere concept of failure.

Favorite Character Archetypes: The Wanderer
In my last post about character archetypes, I talked about Stoic Characters and why I think they're cool. Or at the very least I just rambled on about my favorite characters that fit the type, lmao.
So, here we are now, with another one. I'm going to start off by stating that these posts will now be titled "Favorite Character Archetypes: X Thing" since I feel it's more appropriate to do that than saying "One of my favorites." Now with that stated, let's talk about another one: The Wanderer. Also known as The Drifter, The Explorer, The Adventurer. In Some Cases, they're also The Fugitive.
What are some known traits about these characters? Effectively they're the people who're most likely bouncing from one place to another, to another, to another. Their reasons tend to vary as to why exactly, but generally it's because they want to/have to, because they want to fulfill some purpose in their lives. They can be seen as mysterious, sometimes even elusive. They're independent folk who keep to themselves and thus come off as anti-social at times, even if they do mean well. Ultimately, by the end of their respective stories, the Wanderer will have generally settled down and they will have their goals completed.
Examples of a Wanderer are as follows:
Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star)
Ryu (Street Fighter)
Link (The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask)
Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic Series)
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk (Marvel Comics)
Each of these characters have their own general reasons for why they're always on the move, never stopping to settle down. Kenshiro travels the wastelands to not only just search for his fiancée, but for a myriad of other reasons as well. Ryu travels the world to seek out strong opponents and constantly improve himself until he feels confident in saying that he has truly become a master martial artist. The Hero of Time initially set out on a quest that transcended time to do battle with evil, but then he left Hyrule to look for his closest friend and ended up becoming intertwined in a battle to save the land of Termina from destruction, visiting its four regions and aiding the inhabitants of those regions. Sonic has quite humbly admitted that he's just a guy who loves adventure. Even if he's saved the day, he's already got a foot out the door and springing into the next adventure. The Doctor, across numerous incarnations, has managed to amass goodness knows how many allies and has traveled through all kinds of worlds, dimensions, timelines and more. (Admittedly I also never watched Doctor Who, so this knowledge is just from what I've read about the series; Other than that, I'm not that interested in it, sorry...) Bruce Banner is a fugitive, on the run from the Military (or other organizations) after being bombarded with Gamma Radiation and transforming into The Incredible Hulk. Though most appearances now have largely moved past this aspect or downplay it, it still formed the basis for a lot of storylines involving the character.
So Why do I like this archetype so much? Truthfully, I think it's a pretty cool type of character, one that leads into all kinds of possibilities for storytelling. There's a sense of mystery to these characters, wondering why they're always moving from one place to the next. There's a sense of urgency in some cases. Sometimes it's just pure fun to see what kind of scenarios they might get into next. Some writers might use a wanderer as an excuse to tell the story of the world around them. Others might use them as a central character and paint them as this mysterious rebel who's drifted into town and will end up shaking the foundations of everything while just trying to get on by.
Simply put, they're incredibly versatile and I'd honestly encourage coming up with a character like this. See what you can do with 'em, ask yourself what their motivations are, picture how they might look, what they're capable of, that kinda stuff.
If you've managed to read through to the end here, thank you for taking the time to do so. I honestly have a lot of fun just writing these types of posts in general.

anyways here are my big brain majora's mask ideas:
- an interpretation can be that hyrule is a "heaven" aka the less sensical world opposed to termina's grounded system. in granny's story of the four giants the imp (skull kid) is banished to the heavens. thats when we meet him in ocarina of time.. at some point he returns to termina with majora's mask in hand. though the period that happens gets confusing when considering whether it was skull kid or not who helped reap destruction on ikana
- this can also kinda imply that for some undisclosed reason the deku child beneath the clock tower was trying to reach heaven/hyrule. icarus flying too close to the sun? some people have also said the stone tower is a representation of the tower of babel
- also following the kingdoms of termina in clockwise order, we get mountain, canyon, swamp, ocean. adulthood, death, youth, young adult. an elegy, awakening, celebration of life, a lullaby.
- how long its been since ikana has been in ruin is also a point of interest.. or how long ikana has been around too. it definitely seems ancient, but why is it the only one in such a bad state compared to the rest? or is this how all the other kingdoms wouldve ended up like but it was link who stopped it?
- the four giants were sealed in the evil bodies(odolwa, goht, etc) so likewise the fierce deity may have been sealed in the moon itself..(or majora itself?) majora's incarnation is 'activated' in the 1st phase of the final fight through the 4 remains mask, so perhaps the fierce deity was activated by collecting all the mask scattered around termina
- the plausible connection between the 4 giants and the giant's mask also exists. did ikana precede the four giants? was the mask similar to what made the 4 giants become giants? (if they were possibly not giants to begin with) or did ikana exist after the four worlds were established and they sought after the powers of gods?
- the garo ninjas are interesting.. what does leaving behind an empty shell mean? we can see when we leave empty zora deku and goron shells, we leave behind a representation of the actual bodies we are borrowing their forms from.. so what does link's empty shell represent? the disregardment of all emotions amd experiences to serve one purpose perhaps
- also the inside of the moon.. is it majora's emulation of the skull kid and the giant's story? the kid with majora's mask is left behind as everyone else leaves. i always interpret the lunar children as a symbolization of the giants, who end up becoming trapped by those masks they wear. is the child with majora's mask embodying skull kids loneliness? or is this its own loneliness? i also wondered if this was a representation of termina's world before it split into four?
- i think the masked salesman is a representation of a metaphysical concept the same way the fierce deity is. the fierce deity embodies the buddhist idea of a kishin, then maybe the masked salesman represented a spiritual passage between worlds? maybe masks are indicative of what u are able to bring with you with your next 'incarnation', in both a religious and a song of time sense. btw the children on the moon asks u to be a masked salesman, is there anything up w that?
- also ive always thought that the game representation's of goron, deku, and zora link with the green cloth and all that were just for players and to make it less obvious and jarring that u are quite literally inhabiting a deceased person's body throughout the game. after all various times people will refer to u as the deceased person whose body u are inhabiting, the elegy of emptiness leaves behind statues reflecting the deceased person and not how u actually look in game, and no one points our ur weird green garb.. except for the beavers. which contradicts this entire idea its soo ordjbfsjcnsk
- also if we take ocarina of time's lost woods lore into accounts.. maybe link was about to become 'lost' / turn into a stalfos/skull kid/ fucking DIE, but fell into termina and was reminded of the strengths of life instead. maybe his narrowly avoided fate is the terrible fate the masks salesman is referring to?

Question for all the Links: Favorite place they've been? And I do mean all of them, even the sequel ones
Oh dear, you’re gonna make me Longpost.  *cracks knuckles*  Best get started then, but I am gonna stick to the canon places they’ve been, otherwise I have way too many options.
Gen is really fond of the Faron Woods, specifically the bit leading to Lake Floria.  It’s the first piece of land he ever touched down on, so it’s got a special place in his heart, and also the lake is just really soothing, okay?
Speck’s favorite travel spot is the Minish Village in the Minish Woods.  Everyone is incredibly friendly, and also they like to give him language lessons since he ate his Jabber Nut there.
The Four are pretty chill, but usually will hang out with Zelda in the Castle.  It’s explicitly stated that Link is ‘the boy she trusts above all others’ so I’d say that’s pretty solid evidence for a good relationship, and they’re probably super comfortable with each other.  As far as travel goes though, Talus Cave was pretty neat.
Ocarina’s favorite spot was probably Death Mountain, because he and Darunia are bros.  Mask, on the other hand, would pick the LonLon Ranch.  He would most definitely not pick anyplace in Termina, because Temina was one big mess of stress, and the LonLon Ranch was just that peaceful place where he got his horse.  (Ingo, when compared with Majora, doesn’t even rank on the list of evil opposition.)
Dusk would choose Kakariko, most likely.  It was his support network for a vast majority of his adventure, and people get attached to places based on the experiences within said places.
RGBV aren’t really keen on going back, but the Frozen Hyrule was a pretty interesting place.  It’s not often you see that much ice, after all.
Lore is probably more a fan of Holodrum than he is of Labrynnia, if for no other reason than that he gets along famously with the Subrosians.  But if Koholint hadn’t been imaginary, he probably would have claimed that as his favorite instead.
Sketch doesn’t mind Lorule, but the method of getting there is probably always going to remind him that it was originally a curse.  Therefore his actual favorite is probably the Desert of Mystery.  It’s interesting down there.
Realm... has no idea where his favorite spot is, literally.  He does remember a nice forest that wasn’t too monster-infested, but then again he also remembers stumbling into two dungeons in a row somewhere in that nice forest.  Or at least, he thinks they were in the forest.
Wind really likes Dragonroost island for several reasons, but most of the reasons are because the Rito are so nice.  Also Medli is one of his best friends, probably second only to Tetra.
Steam thought the Ocean Realm was the coolest thing, because he got to go to the Ocean Floor.  It was completely different from anything he’d ever seen before, although he does admit that it’s kinda hard to get to without the Spirit Train making sure he can breathe.
Shadow’s favorite places are the ones where he doesn’t have to deal with any idiot desert kings thinking they’re in charge.  That said, the Mirrored Lake at the bottom of the Water Temple was actually pretty peaceful for his introverted soul until Ocarina popped his head in.
Oni... doesn’t have very much to go on.  But in comparison with the inside of his mask, he prefers the inside of Majora’s Moon.  He does have good memories of beating Majora up, after all.
Rune is probably the most comfortable in Zora’s Domain.  It’s calm, it’s pretty, and it doesn’t hurt that his most supportive friend spends most of his time there.  Sidon is just one of those welcoming sorts of people.
Lux’s entire experience revolves around battlefields, but he does fondly remember the battle in the Temple of Time when he got the Master Sword.  That was a good day, barring all the ghosts of the deceased Temple Guards that he had to get through.
The TriLinks will happily forego the Drablands entirely and spend the entire day in Madame Couture’s shop.  There’s so many outfits and so little time, you know?
Lyric is honestly good for anywhere, as long as it doesn’t mess up his rhythm.  That said, he has more fun when he’s dancing with people, and therefore Kakariko is where he spends the most of his time.
Now I’m not sure if you wanted the OC Links, as well, but just in case!
Codex is happiest in the library, any library.  But within the library, he’s most likely to be in the historical section.  He tried the autobiographical shelves once and it just didn’t have the same appeal.
Wraith, for all that he’s a ball of sunshine, will actually spend most of his time in burial sites.  It’s easiest to talk to his friends that way, after all, because unlike his many insistent mentors, most spirits don’t have enough strength to wander too far from their bodies.
And there we go!  I’m almost positive that I got everybody, but just in case: SUBJECT TO FUTURE EDITS.
Hope you enjoyed!

BOTW Unpopular Opinion
Ok, am I the only one who doesn’t want a rehydrated Good Ganondorf? Like, a rehydrated Ganondorf would be cool, potentially fanservice-esque, which... I’m ok with, I guess, as long as it has content that’s good. But a Good Ganondorf? I just... I don’t want that. I don’t want Ganondorf redeemed, that would kinda make the Calamity feel... a bit cheap.
But, that doesn’t mean I don’t want Ganondorf as a character, that isn’t merely pure evil. I want a Ganondorf contextualized. I want him separated from the Malice itself, the destiny set before him, and to see him as a character. I want to see the Ganondorf that is still bitter about the Hyrulians ransacking his people. I want a Ganondorf that would make sense to be susceptible to Malice and Demise’s pure evil. I want a Ganondorf that isn’t merely good, but one that makes sense. One that may be more grey without the Malice, one that wants to act for his people, and against the Royal Family for an actual reason beyond anger. I want one that’ll give us doubts about the past and the Royal Family’s actions like the Bottom of the Well did.
I want a complex Ganondorf. Not one purely good, but not one purely evil. I want one that gives us the context to Ganondorf’s hatred, something that the Malice could use like Majora and Skullkid. Then again, that’s just me.
PS. I’m not opposed to fanservice, I’m opposed to fanservice with no substance. If it doesn’t make sense for the story and isn’t necessary, I am not a fan.
