#for me a favorite movie is anything i've watched more than ten times and know at least one scene by heart #usually that means movies i find stimulating but also easy/fun to watch. not necessarily sacred cinema (altho i'd defend my top 3 to death)#sorry for being a fight club + deadpool/venom 2 + the social network + american psycho + uncut gems enjoyer #i also like a bunch of ghibli and lupin iii movies #and matilda. honorary best movie ever #im sure theres a bunch im forgetting about. i have goldfish brain #hackers 1995 too!!

Interview with the Vampire (1994) facts that aren't important

The movie lost their 1995 Oscar nomination for Best Original Score to The Lion King.

Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise won the 1995 Razzie for Worst Screen Couple at the Golden Raspberry Awards.

Oprah Winfrey walked out ten minutes into the film after seeing Tom Cruise bite a rat: “I believe there are forces of light and darkness in the world and I don’t want to be a contributor to the force of darkness." Because of this she almost didn't air the chaotic Tom Cruise interview where Tom jumps on the couch like 4 times. *

Brad Pitt did not read the script before signing his contract:*

Okay, Interview With the Vampire. You look miserable in the movie. I am miserable. Six months in the fucking dark. (Brad said he liked filming in Louisiana a lot but London sucked) There was also the makeup, the contact lenses.. Contact lenses, makeup, I'm playing the bitch role…

I got the script two weeks before we started shooting. Didn't you read earlier drafts? You must have. No, I didn't. Let me tell you something, once you're a movie star, you can ask to see the script. I know, but I wasn't then, and you learn.

(He also tried to get out of his contract) What will it cost me to get out?" And he goes, very calmly, "Forty million dollars." And I do, "Okay, thank you." It actually took the anxiety off of me. I was like, "I've got to man up and ride this through, and that's what I'm going to do." Maybe you should have haggled and offering him 10 million. No, I didn't have 10. I had, like, 10 bucks, you know?

Author Anne Rice was initially really opposed to the casting, and said that "Tom did make Lestat work was something I could not see in a crystal ball." But then later said, "from the moment he appeared, Tom was Lestat for me." *

This REALLY hurt Tom's feelings: "When it first hit, it really hurt, to be candid about it. Her venom hurt." To practice for the role he read ALL of her books, lost 12 lbs, moved to Paris, watched lion hunting documentaries (??)* and started playing piano. * In his defense, he was being +$10 mil for the movie.

Kirsten Dunst said the most difficult part of filming Interview with the Vampire was "kissing Brad Pitt! It was horrible and I hated it." *

When asked how he felt about the kiss, Brad Pitt said: "How do you think I feel? I have to kiss a little girl." *

Brad Pitt says Tom Cruise ''bugged'' him. ''There came a point during filming when I really started resenting him." *

The Ink Demonth 2023 - Day 21. City

Day 21. City Crossover: Samurai Jack Aku is like that one uncle who made his fortune by pure luck (e.g. winning the lottery) and now feels entitled to give life advice to everyone around him on what to do to be as successful as he is, lol.

This is probably one of my best and favourite entries in this year's Ink Demonth.

The funny thing is that I originally had a different idea here - it was supposed to be a crossover with the Spiderverse, where in Spider-Men City one of the Spider-Man (probably Milo) asks Bendy if he's Venom, and Bendy replies that he is, but better because he doesn't need a host. However, I decided that I didn't want to draw the city from this movie, or even so many Spider-Men (although I love both the movie and Spider-Man himself in almost every version) - so Titatotrix and I did a brainstorming session, which resulted in my very discovery: "of course, Aku City... it was supposed to be Aku City from the beginning!" And we got it! I've always wanted to draw Aku. I've drawn Samurai Jack and more, there was even a short comics from my favourite episode... but never Aku. And he is such a lovely object to draw...

I love Samurai Jack. This is probably still my favourite cartoon. And I deeply regret the ending of the last series (the one from Swim Adult). Seriously, I was really sad that so many well-thought-out episodes and the entire complex plot were ruined with one stupid decision at the end... what a shame. I still love the show, and Jack was one of my big crushes (along with Hercules from the 1995 series and Chase Young from Shaolin Showdown and only from Shaolin Showdown - we don't talk about Chronicles). Plus Aku was dubbed in the original by Mako, one of my favourite voice actors (he did Splinter in my favourite TMNT movie and Uncle Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender) - may he rest in peace.

While making this picture, I had great fun at every stage: sketching, making lineart, colouring... I would love to continue the theme of "uncle" Aku giving good advice to Bendy, but, unfortunately, I don't have time for that anymore. Maybe I'll come back to it someday. By the way, while coming up with this entry - and it was after linearizing the next one, Radio, which you will see in a few hours - Titatotrix and I came to the conclusion that this year's Ink Demonth in my version looks a bit like Bendy's journey through the Multiverse and asking various characters for advice on how to deal with his perpetual depression (and with Joey). Well, it really looks like that. Plus entries where Sammy does something... sammish X"D

Brazilian peculiar fauna

As promised, my peculiar Brazilian fauna! I will explain what each animal is

1 .Two-headed jaguar

Exactly similar to two-headed lynxes, these large cats inhabit forests and are aggressive. They are large animals and need help to survive as both heads need to eat equally for the animal to survive.

2. Demon Piranhas

They are a dangerous and peculiar species of piranha, they have larger than normal teeth and horns, they are larger than common piranhas and they even devour alligators, it is an extremely dangerous animal.

3. Hummingbird with two tongues

This animal has a beak that opens much wider than that of a common hummingbird, it has two tongues that help it when eating. They eat much faster than a common hummingbird. These birds are naturally extremely fast and are peaceful.

4. Pink dolphin - Holadeira

Photographed in 1995 by Jeremy Wade, this species of Amazonian dolphin is extremely rare to find. It has notches on its back that are very characteristic. Unlike normal pink dolphins, this animal is aggressive just like a piranha, it is recommended to stay very far away from this animal

5. Fire maned wolf

This large animal is peaceful, extremely cautious and does not pose any immediate danger. However, if cornered or in a situation of danger or a lot of stress, this animal's body will catch fire. Fire does not hurt it, it is used solely as defense, unfortunately this animal is often responsible for Forest fire

6. Harpybara

This animal is a mix of a harpy and a capybara, harpybaras have the wings and tail of harpies and the body of a friendly and cute capybara, it is a peaceful and omnivorous animal. She swims very well, is terrestrial, and flies long distances, but prefers to stay on the ground and lie down under the shade of trees. They are the preferred animals as pets for ymbrynes, as they are completely harmless to children and are good companions.

7. Peculiar Coral Snakes

Coral snakes are already naturally dangerous with their deadly venom, now imagine a coral snake that can swallow anything regardless of size. This is the peculiar ability of these snakes. In addition to the naturally dangerous venom, these snakes are born with a jaw that stretches infinitely and an elastic body. They can eat things infinitely bigger than themselves and go years without needing to eat again. Obviously they are extremely dangerous.

8. Indestructible armadillo

Of normal size to that of any common armadillo, the indestructible armadillo has the peculiarity of its impenetrable body, its shell is proof of everything, it cannot be broken, shot or burned. It's indestructible.

Soon you met the ymbryne who rescues and shelters all these animals, Miss Tainá Urutau.

Antiguan Racer (Alsophis antiguae)

Conservation Status- Critically Endangered

Habitat- Great Bird Island; Rabbit Island; Green Island; York Island

Size (Weight/Length)- 100 cm

Diet- Lizards

Cool Facts- Despite being venomous, the Antiguan racer only poses a threat to small reptiles. These large snakes are secluded to a small grouping of islands in the central of the Caribbean. They are relatively gentle for a snake and primarily spend their days sunning on rocks or ambush hunting lizards. A few centuries ago, the Antiguan racer was widespread due to a lack of predators. With humans discovering the Antigua islands, they brought with them mongooses, rats, and diseases. By 1995, less than 50 Antiguan racers remained. Luckily, recent conservation efforts have exterminated invasive predators and the snake’s population has risen to over 1,000.

So with the Metal Gear Collection out now (of debatable quality), I figured I'd make a short, handy list of the chronological order of these games, and a short summary of what they're about. I'll try to be as vague and spoiler free as possible.

1 - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Takes place in 1964 during the Cold War. CIA operative and FOX unit member Naked Snake is sent to Russia and has to survive the jungle (don't ask, just roll with it) to stop the development and deployment of a new kind of ultimate weapon, the Shagohod. Things are not what they seem and the political machinations of both the United States of America and Russia will have severe repercussions for the rest of the series. Most of all, it will affect Naked Snake and his legacy.

2 - Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops - Takes place in 1970. FOX has seemingly gone rogue and started a revolt in San Hieronymo. Naked Snake begins to build his own resistance with the help of Roy Campbell. (The game is only available for PSP and while it was touted as a "missing link" between Snake Eater and Metal Gear 1, it hasn't been mentioned or referenced since. Easily skippable.)

3 - Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - Takes place in 1974 in Costa Rica. Naked Snake and Kazuhira Miller begin building their private military company Militaires Sans Frontières. As they uncover the truth behind the strife in Costa Rica, Snake's past during the Snake Eater incident comes back to haunt him. (Originally a PSP game, it was included in the PS3 HD collection. This was also billed as a "missing link". Up to you if agree. Definitely need to play this to understand the next game.)

4 - Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes - Takes place in 1975. After the Peace Walker Incident, one of MSF's own people goes to Cuba on a failed rescue mission and Naked Snake goes in alone to retrieve his man and the person he came to rescue. Serves as an epilogue to Peace Walker and a prologue to the next game.

5 - Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Takes place in 1984, primarily in Afghanistan. Ten years after what happens in Ground Zeroes, Naked Snake is rechristened Venom Snake and is rebuilding his forces with Miller, naming themselves Diamond Dogs. They prepare to strike back at the organization that has been targeting them for 10 years. A startling truth is revealed and strong alliances shatter.

6 - Metal Gear - Takes place in 1995. FOXHOUND unit rookie, Solid Snake is sent into the fortified state, Outer Heaven, to rescue FOXHOUND veteran Gray Fox and discover the secret behind Outer Heaven's nuclear weapon and the identity of its leader.

7 - Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake - Takes place in 1999. Dr. Kio Marv has bio-engineered a new fuel and energy source that would reduce the consumption of oil. Military forces belonging to Zanzibar Land kidnap the doctor, intending to control the world's oil supply and hold the world hostage as well as stockpiling nuclear weapons. New FOXHOUND commander Roy Campbell forces Solid Snake out of retirement to infiltrate Zanzibar Land and rescue Dr. Kio Marv. Solid Snake is forced to face those he once considered friends and mentors.

8 - Metal Gear Solid - Takes place in 2005. FOXHOUND rebels against the US government and takes over the Alaskan island Shadow Moses, which contains a nuclear weapons facility. Among their demands is the body of Big Boss who is considered the greatest soldier that ever lived. They wish to use his genes to create an army of super soldiers. At the behest of the Secretary of Defense, Roy Campbell once again has to ask Solid Snake out of retirement for one last solo mission. Solid Snake is forced to confront who he is, where he came from and what it is he's fighting for.

9 - Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - Takes place in 2007 and 2009. In 2007, the anti-terrorist organization Philanthropy learns that a new Metal Gear is being transported through the Hudson river and attempt to stop it. They are thwarted by Russian mercenaries and the tanker is blown up as they get away with said Metal Gear.

In 2009, FOXHOUND operative Raiden is sent to infiltrate the Big Shell, a large decontamination facility that has been taken over by a terrorist faction calling themselves the Son of Liberty. Raiden must neutralize the threat and save the hostages. However, Raiden will soon learn of a conspiracy that dates back to even before the Cold War and begin to question his own existence.

10 - Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - Takes place in 2014. War has changed. War has become a commodity and has created what is known as the War Economy. Old Snake is tasked with putting a stop to the madness as well as put an end to a personal war that started as far back as 1964. (So far, this is exclusively a PS3 title, but there is hope that it will be released for PC in a further Metal Gear Collection)

11 - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - Takes place in 2018. Raiden has made peace with his lot in life and is trying to support his family by working as a military trainer and VIP bodyguard among other things. While protecting a VIP, Raiden is ambushed and utterly defeated by a cyborg that is part of a larger organization. Raiden begins his quest of vengeance and will finally see if he can put his past behind him.

And there you have it! Dunno really what prompted me to do this, but hey, maybe someone out there will find this helpful or interesting or intriguing or whatever.
