A compilation:

After completing "Hunting Olnathron" but before completing "The Gates of Fornost," Mincham will have occasional flavor text relating to his dead wife and child, even though all mention of these characters was removed from his questline in 2014.

The player is directed by Candaith to Esteldin on the east side of the North Downs and then sent to speak with Mincham on the west side, despite the eastern side of this region being meant for higher-leveled players and the clear intention of the North Downs quests being that you work from west to east.

A vector quest from Esteldin to Gath Forthnir has the NPC you speak to in GF say, "It speaks highly to his confidence in you that he would tell you of our existence at all" -- despite the player being the first ally of the Rangers to set foot in Angmar in years, and most likely having been the one to bring word of Gath Forthnir to Esteldin.

During the instance "Oakheart's Might," after Amarthiel reveals herself and asks Sauron for allies, Sauron offers the services of the "Lords of Umbar," who proceed to never be mentioned again. Additionally, the next quest talks about "enemies in the south," despite the direction from which the promised reinforcements would come not being specified in the instance.

The outpost of Gwaelband in Annuminas will always be held by Rangers; unlike the other two outposts it will never be retaken by Angmarim. Despite this, Fainneleg will send you to collect Angmarim orders there with the expectation that it may be held by Angmarim.

I do know that a lot of Volume I was reworked when they released the end of Volume III, and I think that all of these are indicative of changes or omissions that were made at that time. I have only been able to find information about a few of these omitted quests, but it seems that most changes were made in the interest of setting up foreshadowing and plot threads that would be resolved in Volume IV and the Black Book. It's still interesting to me to imagine what the other cut quests used to be!

I believe that at one time the Rangers in Angmar were there with Aragorn's blessing, as a small outpost tracking Carn Dum, who became trapped there when Mordirith arrived, which would make the Rangers of Esteldin more familiar with their locations and movements than the player.

The Mincham thing is one example of many where NPCs will allude to quests that no longer exist; merely the one I'm most familiar with. And I believe that originally the main questline sent you to Mincham first, before you approached Esteldin. (This might have been changed to endear Candaith more to the player, to make his death hit harder -- or simply to facilitate other story changes.)

I suspect the Sauron line was not changed due to it being a fully voiced line. They would have to rerecord the voice line, which is A Whole Thing, and then it never happened. Maybe the actor isn't with the company anymore, even, so rerecording that line would mean they would have to rerecord all of Sauron's voiced lines, which would be An Even Bigger Whole Thing.

And as for the Gwaelband thing -- I know for a fact that you used to have to group up with other players to progress many Volume I quests, and then at some point they changed that, resulting in the inspiration bonus you get from many instances and a few other oddities. (The entirety of LotRO's main quest can be completed by a single player these days, without ever joining a fellowship -- which is exactly the way it should be, in a plot-and-lore-heavy video game.) Gwaelband contains an NPC that you need to speak to in order to progress the main quest, and I believe that if the location were to be held by Angmarim she would not be present; and retaking these control points is designed to be a fellowship activity. And rather than moving the NPC (which is what I would have done, but maybe there's some reason they can't), they seem to have just made it so that the control point can never be taken by Angmarim, so she's always available.

Different changes the game went through and different iterations fascinate me, especially when there isn't a readily obvious reason for the change. For instance, Mincham's family: it's a very sad story, but not of an uncommon nature for LotRO. They didn't remove it because it wasn't in line with the themes present in the game, or because it was too dark, or because it contradicts anything else in the game, and yet it's gone, and I'm very curious as to why.

This has been during in my mind for a while so.

Am I the only one who didn't get the whole "I have to protect you" thing in Labyrinth Runners? Like I know there was a post comparing it to Anne and Marcy, but that explicitly shows that Anne has always jumped in to save/help/protect Marcy and it was a learning curve for her. Anne had to learn to step back and acknowledge Marcy's growth and strength and realize that she (Anne) didn't have to protect Marcy 24/7. With Willow and Amity...I don't know, it just didn't come off that way. Not just in this episode but across the whole series. Like Amity's issue was never that she needed to protect Willow, in her very first appearance she bullies and talks down to Willow when no one is around. I just think that if the whole thing was to show how Amity always tried to "protect" Willow, that scene alone should have been a glimpse into that. Instead, the writers always have Amity talking down to Willow and the only times Amity reaches out to Willow is to help Luz or because Luz is involved. Personally, I don't even believe this was ever shown in even little ways because it all had the same result of making Willow feel worse about her magic ability and being "half a witch" and rather than ever getting an acknowledgment FROM Amity about how hurtful those words and actions were, it's all kind of handwaved away in this, "let me protect you" scene.

Throughout this episode especially, Amity's little comments weren't even like, well-intentioned. It's one thing to say, "Willow you didn't actually try that did you? That's dangerous you need backup, I can go with you, etc. etc." and another thing to say "Aw, not everyone is strong enough to fight a guard" one, is protective and the other is season 1 dialog that SHOULD have been addressed in season 1 or early season 2. Yes, I know Disney cut the show, yes that does suck, but there were so many episodes to address the bullying and the effect it had on Willow before now and that wasn't the choice they went with. The show was cut, that sucks, but because the show was cut the writers had to choose what to prioritize and rather than prioritizing Willow and the bullying she faced at the hands of Amity, they just decided to wave it off and it ultimately makes for a poor storytelling decision overall.

i’ve seen a million contradicting pieces of advice on weight loss (and a reminder 95% of weight loss ends up regained), but one of the worst takes i saw was from a doctor who said on youtube it was okay to calorie cut even under 1000 calories if obese to lose weight. just an FYI NEVER do that. jesus christ. adults need 1200-1500 calories Minimum for bodily function and health, do not ever cut under that. i’m begging you. that is such horrific advice. my health issues last year made me unable to eat, vomit constantly, i was getting 300 calories a day more or less, and i was fucking dying in the hospital over and over. don’t fucking do that please. its not worth your life at risk.
