There's just something baffling to me. as an autistic person. That so many characters in genshin have traits associated with autism. That this a clear marketing decision Hoyo makes repeatedly because they know it brings in money. Like, irl people get so much hate for not understanding or being able to communicate their emotions, but in genshin it's like fandom's crack cocaine. There's Zhongli, Neuvillette, Albedo, Alhaitham, Cyno, just as some of the characters most popularly headcanoned as autistic. And there are so many characters with anxiety and traumas etc. Like, I don't even know if it makes me happy or sad. Happy that there is this seemingly genuine desire to love neurodivergent people in fiction, or sad that it doesn't always extend to actual people. Honestly I think I'm jealous. But definitely, more than anything, I find the contrast very baffling. Like why is autism apparently so attractive in fiction??
