i love graffiti. "comics and jazz are the only american art forms" you forgot graffiti. did you remember graffiti? That art form birthed in Philly and NYC in the early 70s by poor Black kids. that art form that spread all over the world and influenced so many. that's used without irony in commercials when they're trying to appeal to a "young urban" customer.
did you forget graffiti? that racism broken windows theory victim? that reach the establishment takes claiming that it's exclusively violent gang members throwing up those full-color pieces and wildstyle tags in the middle of the night outsmarting fifty security cameras because the billboard was ugly anyway. as if, even if it was, it wouldn't be impressive as all hell. risking brutality and fall damage so your art can occupy the space a gentrified condo named something like "Coluumna" took away from you. proving that despite only assholes affording to live here anymore there's still a soul beneath it. an animal with dripping stripes and teeth that go clack-clack tsssss

Why One Should Go to a Luxury Rehab Center
Tumblr media
At present, people have started recognizing addiction as an illness. It is good that people are coming around to the idea of admitting to a rehab center. A luxury rehabilitation center is a suitable option in life for recuperation and growth. Remember, rehab is never a punishment. If you are not convinced. Here are the advantages of joining a luxury rehab center.

currently have a lot of feelings abt house’s relapse in s7,, may have to write it out at some point. he was clean two years at that point (it was either foreman or chase who gave this number). the way a lot of them reacted, they expected it—not surprised. like they expected his sobriety to fail.
yes, relapse is often a part of recovery. but it doesn’t always have to be. the fact that the most standout conversation about it was from wilson to cuddy is wild to me. i’m not a huddy hater—I feel they would’ve eventually broken up but stayed friends if it happened in earlier seasons, because cuddy does care for house. but in s7, she wanted him to be someone he wasn’t. wilson accepted him as who he was.
house literally internalizes all of his issues. he’s terrified when cuddy leaves him. especially when he keeps saying no, and asks cuddy “don't. please don't,”. (also shout out to hugh laurie for his incredible acting in that scene because I cry every time!) and then he ends up back on vicodin and tries to push everyone away again. but think about that guilt. he knew his addiction hurt the people he loved—that’s why he tried to hide it from cuddy. that’s why he begged her not to leave, that it was a one-time thing. he knows it impacts more than just him. so even if he’s back in those harmful habits? I assure you that he is being eaten alive by guilt.
two years clean. he would’ve had so many moments where he likely came close to relapsing, or, he just had intrusive thoughts about it. he pushed through. and then he relapsed, and his world collapses, and he can only blame himself. and he hates himself for it. if he felt confident in his growth for two years and then lost it all, he probably lost sight of any hope for true recovery. for real happiness. for having people by his side in support.
and, in a way, house cannot see the people who care because he’s blinded by his own emotion. wilson went to that hotel to check on him. wilson went to cuddy. wilson was angry on house’s behalf, because he knows how hard it is for house to have gotten through those two years, and to have lost it. he knows how much house likely hates himself for it, even if the guy is acting all snappish and nonchalant about it all. wilson understood.
I want to write out all of my thoughts on it but this is the very basics so rahhhhh take this for now. I dunno if any of it makes sense but <3

On Rehab
I've seen a lot of posts that suggest folks may not know much about rehab, so I'm jumping in with my experience.
Disclaimer: This is from a US-perspective, and from a person who has helped loved ones research/enter rehab but who has not gone myself. I did a little research and it seems like the options are similar in Thailand.
There are multiple forms of rehab:
Rehab can be inpatient (aka residential treatment) where you live at the rehab center. Rehab can also be outpatient where you live at your home and visit the rehab center regularly for individual and group therapy. A lot of people do a short stint (from a few days to weeks) inpatient before switching to outpatient. I'm calling this mixed rehab.
Inpatient programs are considered the gold star for treatment. They have the lowest relapse rates after release, so they are an excellent option if you can afford them. They are especially recommended for people who need a medically-supervised detox and/or more intensive oversight/care and an externally-imposed schedule and rules.
We know Ray can afford it, but inpatient programs are generally extremely expensive so many people opt for outpatient/mixed care due to affordability. They are also great options for people who can't take time away from work or family.
The absolute best chances at recovery are if you participate in at least 90 days inpatient, followed by outpatient care and ongoing participation in support groups. The longer you stay in any form of treatment, the higher the recovery success rate.
All that's to say: We don't yet know what type of program Ray will choose and if he will be away from home for any period of time. Based on what we saw in episode 10, I think he visited a hospital-based program, which is more likely to be mixed or outpatient. Plus, we see him out and about quite a bit in the episode 11 preview, so it's unlikely that he's (at least initially) choosing an inpatient program.
No one asked, but FYI, Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous and other 12-step programs are not rehab because they do not offer comprehensive supports. They are support groups. Participation in AA/NA/other support groups during and/or after rehab decreases likelihood of relapse, but they're not the same as rehab.

Imagine sin as a skin disease that covered the bodies of every man, woman, and child, and that with the extent of our sins, the sicker we would be. Would we need to be quarantined? Would we need medicine or surgery? Would our appearance scare people away? Would we be total outcasts that were separated from our friends and family? That’s the thing with sin though. It can’t be seen or cured by man.…

"The way he made carlos feel like a third wheel to the point where carlos started doubting his place in his life was so frustrating to see" i am honestly BAFFLED by this take. you gave a great answer but i just wanted to add that while carlos's feelings were valid, i definitely wouldn't say tk 'made' him feel that way (rather than it just being a circumstance of the situation). their very first scene has tk keeping him updated on how he's feeling and then appreciating all of carlos's efforts! he wanted carlos to meet cooper bc he's a big part of his life right now! to me there's a major difference between being hurtfully excluded (tk wasn't trying to exclude him at all! in fact he was trying to keep him in the loop!) by 2 people and feeling excluded because of circumstance or projecting your own fears on a situation.
Hi nonny, I appreciate all of you who sent in 3x13 asks that didn’t mind me taking a break for my own sanity from thinking of this episode which I have yet to get over. (Have I mentioned how much I love season 3?)
Carlos feels excluded because he (for unhealthy reasons lbr) doesn’t share his thoughts/feelings/emotions with people who are not TK. And also, as a coping mechanism, Carlos likes to be needed by the people in his life to feel secure and in control (please see his relationship with Michelle). TK needing someone who isn’t Carlos (for legitimate reasons) pings an adrenaline response in Carlos’s reptile brain. And the show does a great job depicting this as unhealthy.
TK is open and does share. But Carlos wants to be THE PERSON and he is. He’s the person who makes sure TK doesn’t live on AA donuts alone and takes a shower and sits and listens to stories about Gwyn. He is TK’s person and he has all of him. And Carlos came to see that.
I think because the show was so tight on Carlos’s POV it was hard for people to see Cooper as more than just a “buddy.” Because all Carlos really saw of TK and Cooper’s relationship looked like friendship, diner dinners and music recommendations and a very basic sweater/jeans combo that Carlos found very attractive. But if we’d gotten a scene with TK and Cooper it would have been clear that Cooper isn’t just a friend. He’s a trained recovering addict who supports others in their recovery. The model suggests that becoming a sponsor helps keep the sponsor on track as much as the sponsee. And it’s an unbalanced relationship in that the relationship is in service of the sponsee and not reciprocal like a friendship or a romantic partner.
People wanted TK to be respectful of Carlos’s feelings and he was. He shared what he could and honestly, kept some things from Carlos that don’t belong on your romantic partners shoulders.
To quote a line from Heartstopper: the Comic. “He may need professional help sweetheart. Love can’t fix mental illness.”

Lovies - I’ve noticed that a lot of folks have started seeing/liking a post I reblogged a while back about sober spaces and being sober. So I’m just gonna repost this amongst all my fun, silly, horny posts.
I’m a recovering addict with over 15 years clean. What that means for me is that I don’t use mind altering chemicals (aside from caffeine) at all. This includes narcotics, hallucinogens, weed, and alcohol because I don’t want to do anything else if I’m using.
My asks are open, as well as my DMs. I just changed to allow anonymous asks if you’re inclined. I love that people have liked and reblogged that post.
I’m here if you need community in recovery or have questions.
So many giant hugs.
Love,
Squiggy

✨ I’ve been a bit MIA on here bc the past month has been a whirlwind. I came to residential treatment for my eating disorder last week on Wednesday and it’s been an experience so far. It’s significantly harder than I thought it was going to be. I honestly felt like bc I’m not near my sickest, I’d come, be here and do fine, and then be in and out quick. Turns out that is not the case.
✨ I have only been here for a few days really, but so far I have gotten to do a few fun therapies including equine therapy! We do that every Thursday and I have this cute little guy Phil for my time here! All the horses here are the sweetest though! They are all rescues and have such tender, loving hearts. I love them!! And then we also have chickens here (they are such sweethearts and follow you around the garden! And they love cuddling!!?) and then goats too! So I love that part of this place!
Everything else about this place is a lot harder.
✨ I brought a few of my fave stuffed animals and I am so glad bc I’m not the only stuffie lover and so everyone has stuffed animals here! And then that journal is from my friend Kelly the day I came here and she wrote the actual kindest letter that made me cry and feel more supported and loved and cared about possibly ever in my life.
✨ I don’t have my phone too often here bc M-F we just have groups and therapies all day. But weekends are free(er) and so that’s been nice.
✨ anyways, I hope you’re all well, and have a good Sunday!

Online Therapy for Addiction Recovery, Online Therapy Addiction, Sober Addiction
Tumblr media
80% of today’s generation or Gen-Z are addicted to smoking, drinking alcohol, and even social media is working as an addiction to them. Once they face few challenges because of this after that they will seek a psychologists or a rehabilitation centre.
At Rehabilitation centres people are afraid to consult with someone because they feel their issue is their weakness and they don’t want to face someone for this. The only solution to all these problems is Online therapy for addiction recovery. In online therapy addiction can be told easily by someone that how it started, how it is going, what all challenges they faced all these questions are answerable in the online mode.
What are the benefits of Online Therapy for Addiction Recovery?
People are afraid to tell their parents about the same that they are addicted to any of the things listed and the benefits of online therapy for addiction recovery are mentioned:
Time-Saving: First and the foremost benefit of online therapy addiction is that it is time saving, it can save your travel time to reach out to the expert and even the expert gives you more time to understand your problem and provide a solution to the same.
Non-Judgemental: We are afraid to share our thoughts which are running in the mind because we think that someone will judge them if they listen to your problem. But in online therapy for addiction recovery there is a 1-to-1 session with you and the expert where they understand you and they don’t judge you as well. You can share your feelings without any hesitation.
Confidential: Confidentiality plays a vital role in online therapy for addiction recovery because no one wants that their problem will hear someone else and online sessions provide this privacy option.
What is Sober Addiction?
The idea of being always sober is something that is referred to as sober addiction. In today's generation of leaving any addiction, sober addiction comes into the recovery stage. It is always good for society as well as for everyone, but too much of the soberness hampers mental health. While leaving addictions such as alcohol, and drugs people engage themselves in the other aspects of their lives such as doing gym, sports, work, food, exercise, etc., but too much of these leads to negative consequences. They believe that these would solve all their life problems and lead them to a perfect life. This type of mind-set sets an unrealistic expectation which causes frustration and disappointment.
Taking proper support and guidance in any case of addiction is important. Recovery is a long and complex process that includes a lot of patience. Engaging oneself in healthy habits, self-care, and sharing and opening to other relations will give an individual some meaning to life.
Why is a healthy life more important than these addictions?
Setting healthy boundaries and limitations is important. Monitoring the one across all the sessions along with the plans that can be implemented for them. Seeking support from someone known helps better as they know the habits of the individual better and can explain the state of mind as well. Lastly and most importantly honesty is the key then only one’s state can be assessed properly otherwise everything would be an illusion.
What is Getsoberprogram and why is it a one stop solution?
Get Sober Program involves a holistic approach to treating alcoholism taking into account the behavioural, emotional, spiritual, psychological, relational, and economic elements of addiction. They’ll assess each of these aspects. Some of the methods include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Enhancement, and Individual or group Counselling, Meditation, Hypnosis, and the use of Ancestral Herbs. They understand the uniqueness of the individuals and offer them specialized treatments. After working with patients who struggled with addictions to alcohol, cocaine, porn, social media, gambling, etc. It has been observed that individuals manage stress and depression in different ways. Some develop severe addictions to substances like drugs, alcohol, and more due to factors including biology, psychology, and environment. These release dopamine, which gives us a brief feeling of pleasure, but over time they damage our bodies. They provide mental, financial, physical and spiritual fitness to live the life peacefully.
