DP HC - The Power of Names & Titles
I just read something in a cool story I'm reading that makes a lot of sense for ghosts.
It's called BatCat Specter by Tathartiel on Ao3.
This is the quote:
"Names to ghosts are very important, as are titles. I have explained to you what obsessions are in the past. Well, our names tie us to our obsessions and our cores. I suppose you could call them... supports or conduits. Titles are similar, though they do not hold as much power. Every title you have earned ties back to your abilities and is a testament to your power or obsession, however, your name is much more personal to your core itself."
It goes on for a bit after that.
"Danny wasn't sure he liked where this was going. Suddenly he remembered the ominous message that Clockwork had told him the last time he had seen the cryptid ghost.
"So what you are saying is that...names hold power? And me finding out my birth name...gave me a power boost of some kind? That...would explain why it hurt."
"Hurt?" Frostbite squinted, looking up from the screen he had been observing. "No...it shouldn't have hurt. Your name is already connected to you, even if you had not been aware of it. It is less about gaining new power and more about regaining something that was already yours. Can you explain what happened when you first heard your true name?"
To the best of his ability, Danny recaps the feeling of energy flowing through him. How it felt like he was about to snap with how much power there had been and how it felt like electricity zipping through his veins.... it had been painfully reminiscent of his accident now that he thought about it. That didn't ease his nerves concerning this though.
"I see. How curious. It appears that too much power attempted to be released. Perhaps when you discovered your name, your locked power tried to escape at the same time?"
"My... what?"
"From your battle with Pariah. I'm afraid that until you claim your title it will remain locked so as not to overexert you."
"No no wait... what power? Title? What do you mean?""
It goes further, but I don't wanna spoil too much. It's a very good story & a lot of good points.
They mentioned that Danny gained Pariah's title by specifically challenging him to single combat & defeating him.
That gave Danny the power that Pariah had gained by defeating other ghostly kings & queens.
Not accepting one's Titles, if they come with a certain amount of power, can become dangerous as the energy will build without an outlet & after too many years of this, much like a balloon, will pop.

Did you know that the Fierce Deity Mask's Japanese name was Kishin no Kamen?
And, according to Japanese myth, Kishin were protective deities based on the Buddhist Pāla, who were likewise protectors.
You see, these beings were thought of as being beings of duality. They were fearsome, powerful, & even scary-looking, but at their cores, were also compassionate & benevolent. They were thought to visit just & righteous vengeance or divine retribution upon those who harmed the innocent & in Buddhist theology specifically, would remove obstacles in the way of mortals trying to achieve enlightenment.
In a lot of ways, you could say that they were representative of healthy masculinity as yes, men are expected to be strong (not just in body, but also in mind, heart, & spirit; in other words, resiliant, steadfast, & endurant), dangerous, & aggressive, but only when it is necessary & that it's important to know where to aim it, especially when protecting those close to him. Ideally, men are also supposed to be compassionate & gentle.
As such, I tend to see Fierce as dark, but not necessarily evil. And,if not entirely good, then at least neutral. And I guess that I see him being dark in the same way that the moon is dark when compared to the sun even on a cloudy day.
You actually don't get much indication that he is evil in the game. Yes, the description on the mask makes on warry, but it specifically says dark, not evil.
And the only one that I know of who calls the mask as such is Majora, but in that same breath, he called himself the good guy. Yet, Majora was about to commit mass genocide, so I'm honestly not inclined to take his word for it.
There's also an interesting line that comes from one of the Moon Children that I very much relates to who Fierce is as a person. "Does doing the right thing really make everyone happy?" And the truth of the matter is that, no, it honestly doesn't. Life is just complicated like that, unfortunately. And sometimes, you just have to hope that you're making the least evil choice that you can.
Also, I love the fact that it's implied that Fierce enjoys fishing as the fishing hole is the only other place besides boss fights that you can put the mask on, I believe.
But, yeah, I have a bunch of hcs about him as a character.
Also, sorry if I've already told you this before. I can be very forgetful. -_-'
I've looked a little into the potential Buddhist inspirations for the Fierce Deity and it's as complex at it is interesting. I've not heard of the comparison between FD and idolised masculinity, the idea that this being should, by human standards, be perfect, an idea, a role model. But to be so out of reach and even feared by its neutral, unrelatable lack of concern for humanity's narrow moral framework, and dark powers.
I didn't know that! And that's such a cute headcanon. I wonder...that might be all Twilight needs to know as to not have his heart immediately drop down to his bowels whenever Time puts the mask on, but rather have a chill fishing sesh after the battle to calm FD down and allow Time to take off the mask without fuss- that's a cool fic idea. Has that been done?
I'm more than happy for shared custody of your hcs aikoiya, send them this way, they will live in my mind rent free for days on end! 😂

LoZ: TotK - Gerudo Language 3 - My HC Basics
Here is the Gerudo alphabet:
Tumblr media
And this is what I think the Gerudo's numerical system would look like based on the above alphabet & my personal headcanons.
Tumblr media
---
I am basing this all off of both official Nintendo approved words, a bunch of other people's ideas, as well as a mix of Egyptian & Middle Eastern words & random shit that I pull outta my ass. So, be warned.
For the rest of my Gerudo Language Series, go here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, & Part 7.
Words with a * at the front indicate that I'm not the one who thought it up. Basically, a disclaimer.
---
Pronunciation & Diacritics:
'J' either sounds like 'y' or like 'zh'/'jh' depending on the letter before it. 'Zh' or 'jh' as in 'zhuzh it up' or 'give it some jhoojh,' so sort of a buzzing or engine-revving sound. If the proceeding letter is a vowel or a vowel & an 'h,' it sounds like an 'h,' but if it is a consonant or the start of a word, it sounds like 'zh'/'jh.' In the case of being proceeded by a 'd,' the 'd' is silent, but the 'j' still behaves as if proceeded by a consonant. However, if the 'j' is proceeded by ', then it automatically makes the 'jh' sound.
When ' (called a 'Khamza) is both proceeded & followed by a consonant, the 'uh' sound is added in between when spoken, but when it's proceeded or followed by at least 1 vowel, it isn't. Unless, it's proceeded by an 'H' that, itself, is proceeded by a vowel. Then, the 'H' is also treated as a vowel. Or when the consonant on both sides are the same. In which case, the 'uh' is not pronounced. Eg. Sōl'let is pronounced like 'solet.'
Rr is pronounced the same way as the rolling Spanish "rr."
X is pronounced either like "sh" or "zh" depending on the situation. Except for when it's proceeded by an "h" or ', at which point, it comes out sounding like "sk" or "shk."
A is pronounced like "uh."
Á is pronounced like the "a" in "bat." (When spelled in English phonetically, it's written "bæt" with a hard "a.")
À is pronounced like the "a" in "are."
Ā is pronounced like "ay," as in "day."
E is pronounced with the short "e" sound.
È makes the "eh" sound.
É makes the "ey" sound.
Ē makes the long "e" sound.
I makes the short "i" sound, like the "ick" in "sick."
Ï makes the long "e" sound, same as ē.
Ī makes the "eye" sound.
O sounds like the short "o" sound, as in "on," "off," or "long."
Ó sounds like "oo," but shorter.
Ō sounds like the "o" in "home."
Ô sounds like "aw."
U sounds like "uh," same as "a." Also sounds like the "i" in "third" or the "ea" in "earn" depending on how it's used.
Û sounds like "oo," but longer.
Ù sounds like the "oo" in "pool."
Ú sounds like the "oo" in "book."
Ae sounds like "hah" with a lot of breath in the "h"s.
And this is how I think the diacritics would be spelled.
Tumblr media
Ā, É, & Ī all have 2 ways to write them, the 1st of each listed being considered formal & proper, while the 2nd listed are consider informal & casual.
I've also made some digraphic characters.
Tumblr media
---
Grammar:
Names do not have ' in them as a rule.
-'ōt (Pronounced: -oht) = Very or so. Eg. Sàv'ōt means "very good" or "so good." Sàv'ōt being used as praise or to complement cooking or in other, more intimate situations.
-'té (Pronounced: -tey) = -th, -rd, -nd; a specified number in a numbered sequence. Eg. Uàf'té (Pronounced: oo-ahf-uh-tey) means 8th. The letters are regularly smaller than the number & are arranged one on top of the other in a column.
-'è = Suffix indicating "of." To be placed at the end of what is possessing. Eg. Goddess of the Sand would be Geru'è Vallah.
-'jï (Pronounced: -jhee or -zhee)= Possessive suffix. So, if something belongs to Aaqlet, then it's Aaqlet'jï. Much like with -'té, the 'j' & 'ï' are also smaller than the rest & stacked on top of each other in a column.
-éda = -ing. Suffix indicating that something is happening right now.
-'úl (Pronounced: ool) = Indicating that something happened in the past. Past tense.
-en or -n = An indication of a word being plural. Both are technically correct, but 'en' is considered proper grammar. Some words already end in '-n' & when it isn't proceeded by an 'e,' you can just tack '-en' to the end. Making '-n' into '-nen.'
- -ae = Another way to indicate plurality. This is typically done when the word ends in '-a.'
Ih'- = A or an. Used as a prefix to a word.
Adï'- = Adoptive or surrogate. Used as a prefix.
Dōr'- = -less. To be without something.
-īs = -ful. To be full of something.
Kōli'- = Every-. Used as a prefix indicating all of something.
Muhs'- = Not or un-.
*Dulï'- = Any-. Used as a prefix in words such as anywhere, anything, anyone, ect.
- *Dulï'vomoq = Anyhow.
- Dulï'zī = Anyone.
- Dulï'vamoq = Anyhow.
- Dulï'mihd = Anywhen.
- *Dulï'fihk = Anywhere.
- *Dulï'fàyo = Anymore.
- *Dulï'xakè = Anybody.
- *Dulï'rekana = Anything.

-xē = An indication of something being more. Such as deeper, bigger, greater.
Ih'- = A or an. Used as a prefix to a word.
Wahl'- = And. Used as a prefix for the last item in a list.
Al'- = The. Traditionally has the ', but in situations where other prefixes are applied, the 2 prefixes are merged.
Lï'- = To. Used as a prefix to indicate an action, but only when "to" is necessary. Eg. Lï'kaa is "to do."
Yà- or -yà = Little or small. Used as either a prefix or suffix to indicate a diminutive. Often used in terms of endearment.
- Yàrï- or -yàrï = Tiny or teeny, but specifically in reference to the object of the speaker's attentions' cuteness as a side-effect of said smallness. Like, an ultra diminutive. Often used in terms of endearment as a suffix & is basically baby talk. - Vai will also often sing "yàrïyàrïyàrï~" at babies or puppies or kittens as a way to say how sweet & cute they are, thus being the equivalent to "coochi-coochi-coo," but what they're actually saying is "tiny-tiny-tiny." - Conveys great affection, but is strictly for platonic or parental use. Not normally for romantic use. Also often used to indicate an infant form of something, but in a baby-ish way. Eg. Gàtïyàrï for kitten. But it's used in a way so as to say, "Look at this little baby cat! Isn't it precious?!" So, not used as an official or scientific term.
-zī = One. Can be used as a prefix in addressments.
Va'- or Và- = A prefix referring to a female. Was once used to shorten long feminine terms, but is now used regularly.
Vo'- or Vō- = A prefix referring to a male. Was once used to shorten long masculine terms, but is now used regularly.
Ran or Dā- = Great, big, or glorious.
Fé or Nae = In. Also used as a prefix.
- Févūju or *Naevūju = Inside.
Ta'- or Ta = Out.
- Ta'letraq = Outshine.
Vataa = Or.
- Taa or -taa = Or. Shorthand. Also used as a suffix at the end of items in a list of options.
Basics:
Àm (Pronounced: ahm) = Yes, affirmative.
- Àmeela = Vehement approval.
Nà = No, not, never.
- Nàlaaq = Vehement no, denial, or disagreement. Akin to saying "absolutely not" or "never in a million years."
- Gáro'nàlaaq (Pronounced: gah-ro-nah-lack) = A no that is even more vehement than Nalaaq. Basically like saying "hell no." When spoken, the "Gáro" is drawn out & emphasized so it sounds more like "Gaaa~ro," while "Nàlaaq" is said quickly, sharply, & with finality. This is an "end of discussion" type of word. When said especially vehemently, the speaker may chop their dominant hand down through the air at the end as if to cut off the conversation entirely.
- Nàv (Pronounced: nahv) = 1. Guiding. 2. Bad, but in an annoying way. - Which way is meant depends on the context surrounding it.

This word is often associated with the worst, harshest, & most unforgiving parts of desert life. Gerudo generally don't use things like Mr. or Ms. in casual circumstances. Such things are considered titles in a way & titles are generally only used to address those of higher social status than themselves or in a position of authority. Or when they're interested in the individual in particular.
Truth & Lies:
Al'ïqatàn = Literally translates to "the truth," but actually has a lot of subtextual weight behind it. The subtext being more along the lines of "the absolute truth," "the objective fact," or "the immutable reality." Májarïr = A magic user. No real indication of what sort, whether a Cleric, a Bard, a Druid, a Sorcerer, a Warlock, or a Witch.
*Dōrfè = Sorcerer. One born with magic in his blood.
- Gánōndōrfè = A Warlock-Sorcerer. Specifically, a man who was born with magical capabilities in his blood, but who's made an evil pact with a demon for more power & become a practitioner of black magic. Distinctly different from a regular warlock in that a Warlock-Sorcerer already had the capability to use magic, while a regular one only gains access to magic upon making a pact. - This is Ganondorf's traditional Gerudan name, whereas "Ganondorf" is more of a Hyrulean transliteration of his name.
*Nikra = Sorceress. One born with magic in her blood.
- Gánōnikra = A Witch-Sorceress. Specifically, a woman who was born with magical capabilities in her blood, but who's made an evil pact with a demon for more power & become a practitioner of black magic. Distinctly different from a regular witch in that a Witch-Sorceress already had the capability to use magic, while a regular one only gains access to magic upon making a pact. - Kōme & Kotake are often referred to as such.
Other:
Tïsa = Joy.
- Tïsàla = Happy or joyous. Also a girl's name.
Sàl'- = Dramatics or theatrics. Used to denote something of an entertaining or otherwise performative nature.
- Sàl'suudï = Performative dance.
- Sàl'suudïna Vaaqontōgï = Performative storytelling through the medium of dance. A deeply traditional form of Gerudo storytelling that is a very major part of their culture.
Eto = A claim or the act of staking a claim.
- Reqra = A right.
Orqïr = Traveler.
Mahàd = Cradle.
- Sarir = Bed.
Sheno = Human.
Seba'vï = Learning or discipline.
Heru = An era or span of time denoting something specific.
Hudjèfa (Pronounced: huh-zheh-fuh) = Lost; missing or erased.
- Ohïm = Lost.
- Hudjèfamu (Pronounced: huh-jheh-fuh-moo) = Lost blood.
- Heru Hudjèfamu'è (Pronounced: heh-roo huh-jheh-fuh-muh-eh) = The Era of Lost Blood. The time during which the Gerudo did not truly exist as a people & lost their culture. - If a Gerudo vai does not return to the desert by the age of 6 & remain there until at least 10, then if she someday has daughters, they will not be full Gerudo. Due to some great disaster that caused the Gerudo Region to be uninhabitable, the Gerudo were forced to live outside of it. As a result, their blood became diluted by those of Hylians, humans, & Sheikah, thus resulting in a loss of cultural identity. This was the Heru Hudjefamu'è. At some point, the desert, highlands, & canyon of the Gerudo Region became habitable again & after a while descendants of the Gerudo gathered back there. Slowly over the next generations, their Gerudo blood built back up & they were able to reestablish themselves as a people again. This is part of why Gerudo are required to return to the desert at such a young age as before the Gerudo's return, the need to return to the Gerudo Region was unknown. No one knows why the Gerudo are able birth full Gerudo so long as they return to the Gerudo Region despite non-Gerudo fathers, but now that it is known, it is strictly enforced.
Tumai = Hope.
Yahdur = Attend.
Dawallahan = The Gerudo forging method of pattern welding used to make scimitars. They are often said to have a water-pattern to them, thus the use of "wa" or water. The Desert Gerudo, unfortunately, don't have access to quality steel, so their swords tend to be brittle. However, their metallurgy & swordmaking techniques are top-notch & thus their swords tend to be very powerful but not durable. That, plus the curved design, makes them vicious in combat. - This is in contrast to the actual Middle East who actually had access to quite a lot of high quality steel & thus their weapons were both durable & powerful.
- Dawasaaq = A type of steel found in the Gerudo Highlands & used in Ealiya forging. Different from the steel that the Desert Gerudo use & much higher quality. Combining the traditional Dawallaham pattern welding technique with the Dawasaaq steel results in a far superior blade. - Sort of the Hyrule equivalent to Damascus Steel.
Bayt = Home.
Ealiyah = Family. - Also the name I gave to a made up Gerudo/Hylian/Human/Sheikah/Lupos settlement in the Gerudo Highlands.
A'nï màtuso = "I love you."
- A'nï màtushàqso = "I love you passionately" or "I adore you." Very emotionally charged & very emphatic.
- Mùta = Lust or sex. Considered something separate from love.
Hïlo = Handsome
Morï = Pretty.
- A'so se kàmmor; Kàmmorïso = You're beautiful.
- A'so se kàmmor'ōt; Kàmmorïso'ót = You're so beautiful.
- A'so se al'qamàhr. = Literally, "you are like the moon." The cultural context being that someone is exceptionally beautiful.
Làba = Toy or thing to be played with.
Ûjïa (Pronounced: oo-yee-uh) = Mystery.
- Jïamid (Pronounced: jhee-uh-mid) = Mysterious.
- Ûjïa Gerasht'è = Desert of Mystery.
- Jïachisï = Secret.
- Jïasïd (Pronounced: jhi-uh-seed) = The name of the desert country that the Gerudo originate from.
Shàkï = Doubt.
- Shàkï Geràsht'è = Desert of Doubt.
Mà'trook = Forgotten, abandoned, lonely, forlorn, desolate.
- Nàreq = Unsung or un-praised, but also has implications of being unappreciated.
Hairu or Hīru = Hyrule, Hylian.
- Hairu Sabzï = Hyrule Herb.
- Lanïru = Lanayru.
Gàlzar = Sandskimmer; sand sleigh. Often attached to Sand Seals to transport things.
Zujaja = Bottle.
Based on this, the 7 Heroines would be called the al'Zaf Vahshô'làra & the 8th Heroine would be called al'Uàf'tè Vai'làra or, more accurately, al'Mà'trook Voh'lawàr. The Ealiyans of the Gerudo Highlands would worship him as the Forsaken Hero (al'Mà'trook Voh'lawàr) & al'Nàreq'lawàren'è Vollah, or the God of Unsung Heroes.
The Goddess of the Sand's title would be al'Geru'è Vallah to mean the Goddess of the Sand or al'Wahè Vah'ma to mean the Oasis Mother, or Vah Gela when using her actual name. Sometimes referred to as Vah'maween or Our Holy Mother by the especially religious & devout as she is said to have created the Gerudo in her Holy Garden (Devï'forzabzï) in the Oasis of the Gods (al'Vahlïen'è Wahè), which is considered the home of the Gerudo's pantheon of gods, when a great flower bloomed & from it came the Gerudo. This is why the Gerudo are referred to as the "Flowers of the Desert" or Geràsht'è Forzuen.
And Ganondorf, the Demon King, would be referred to as al'Sûlaaq Voe'attàr.
This would also indicate that the Divine Beasts' names are based off of the Gerudo language. However, if this is true, then the names are incorrect. For one, instead of Vah, they should use shônï as they are earthly devices named in honor of earthly figures in history rather than heavenly or divine entities.
The correct names would be Vàshô Naboris, Vàshô Medoh, Vàshô Ruta, & Vōshô Rudania as the figures they were named after were 3 females & 1 male.

DP HC - Possessiveness in Ghost Psychology
While ghosts can have a similar psychological structure to humans, that doesn't make them the same.
For instance, possessiveness in humans is typically considered a bad thing.
For ghosts, it's natural & even healthy depending on the situation.
What I mean is, it's natural for a ghost to be possessive of someone & it isn't considered reducing them to that of an object or a pet. In fact, doing so declares that person as being important to the ghost, especially if the ghost formally stakes their claim. That is the ghost elevating them to a higher standard because the ghost felt the need to address it.
Now, if the focus of the ghost's possessiveness accepts & declares that they belong to the ghost, that is consensual. However, if the target rejects the claim, then it isn't. If the ghost continues to assert their claim against their target's will, then that is not healthy.
On the other hand, if the target not only affirms the claim, but then turns it around & stakes a claim of their own on the ghost, then it's not only consensual, it's reciprocal which is very healthy.
Though, affirmation & reciprication looks different depending on the specific relationship between the 2.
Now, there are some ghosts who would react badly to their claim being reciprocated & those ghosts usually are mentally disturbed. They are typically a product of the ancient world or old Ghost Zone monarch. For them, it was either possess or be possessed & the possessed were generally considered weaker.
More modern studies say that it's actually of great emotional & mental benefit to have a claim reciprocated.
In a way, it puts the 2 involved on more equal footing.
Staking a formal claim back to a ghost who'd previously staked a claim on you is actually considered a very sweet gesture. Like, it gives the warm fuzzies. Fluff. Many would trill happily at having their claim returned if the relationship between them is a positive one.
Keep in mind that these relationships don't even necessarily need to be romantic in nature. It can be totally platonic, philial, or familial, even rivalries & adversarial relationships can bring about a certain level of possession depending on their relationship itself. It just represents a deeper form of relationship. Many of these classifications are actually inspired by the Greco-Roman concepts of love. Such as Philia, Storge, Pragma, Eros, Agape, ect.
At the same time, there does exist a level of toxic possession that goes beyond what most civil & even uncivil ghosts are comfortable with. When it happens, it's sort of a mix of the Greco-Roman concept of Mania & the Japanese trope of Yandere. This sort of thing sometimes happens when either a person or love itself becomes a ghost's Obsession & they are unable or unwilling to regulate that Obsession. This Mania can be applied to any sort of relationship, whether it be romantic, platonic, or filial in nature. Though, it's usually romantic. This is somewhat what happened to Vlad.
At the same time, Mania can be treated, but only if the ghost recognizes that there's something wrong with their extreme levels of possession & chooses to seek help.
However, there is also a hierarchy of claiming pertaining to the sort of possessiveness it is. Adversaries get the least amount of possessiveness, while familial can range depending on the sort of familial relationship it is. For instance, filial relationships can sometimes elicit almost, if not as much, possessiveness as one's claim on a girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife/mate depending on the situation & the needfulness of such possession, though it's obviously a different kind of possessiveness. Immediate family & frightmates always require more protective energy than other types of claims.
I suppose that claiming someone is similar to declaring them part of your... family?? Or unofficial frightmates?? It's similar, but not quite the right translation for it. Adopting is also close. So is wardship, but neither really fit. I'm not even sure there is a true right word for it in the English language.
I suppose that it's like being a kept man or woman, but without the sexual or monetary implications. Replace that with general protection &... a certain degree of authority when pertaining to the individual's safety.
So... a little bit like frightmates, but not quite.
Like, Skulker & Ember are dating but they don't belong to each other, that isn't the sort of relationship they have, but Ember considers her band members hers. On the other hand, Kitty & Johnny are dating & do belong to each other through reciprocation, but Shadow just belongs to Johnny & has accepted the possession, but not reciprocated.
However, that's only on an individual level. It also stretches to monarchs & other leaders via right of rule & you can usually figure out what kind of ruler a ghost is by what kind of possession they have over their people.
It doesn't really have much of a logical reason by human standards, but it seems to be somewhat compulsory & even instinctive on some level.
Regardless of the form the relationship takes, possessiveness translates directly to protectiveness. When it doesn't then that's considered a form of abuse amongst the more civilized ghostly societies.
For instance, as far as rulers go, Pariah, Aragon, Dorathea, Frostbite, & Pandora all possess or possessed everyone under their domain. At the same time, Pariah's possession became unreciprocated & didn't equate to protection, Aragon's was accepted, but also didn't include protection. On the other hand, Dorathea's rule is first accepted, then reciprocated & always included protection. While Frostbite & Pandora's rules are both reciprocated & include protection.
Also, having your claim rejected can hurt a lot! Like, in your core. But, I suppose to ghosts, it's similar to the feeling of getting your heart broken as a human.
To belong to a ghost, especially amongst the higher possessions such as family & spouses, involves a lot of possessive language both when referring to you & directly addressing you. Like, there's a lot of them referring to you as 'theirs' & using words like 'my' something or other.
As for Danny specifically, my hc is that Danny is a tutelary, which is a protective spirit. Specifically, a Lar Praestite, which is a Greco-Roman hero spirit that protects an entire town or community. Thus making that town/community their haunt.
Now, before the ghosts connect the fact that Danny is a tutelary, then yeah, @dannyphantom-justiceleauge is right, they would see him claiming an entire town of people as greedy. After that, however? They’d be more like, “Ooooh… Yeah, that tracks.”
As far as his relationship with Vlad goes… It’s complicated… Vlad has staked a Storge-type claim upon Danny, which ya'll are correct, he didn’t reciprocate. However, unknowingly, Danny has instead staked an adversarial claim upon Vlad, who doesn’t reciprocate specifically because that isn’t the sort of relationship that he wants with the boy. So, their relationship sort of falls into a bit of a gray area as far as claims go. Like, it’s very apparent that they want some sort of relationship with each other; the disconnect is with what sort of relationship the other wants. So, the relationship is still pretty toxic, but it’s seen as this weird reciprocal toxicity that fits into a gray area as far as possessiveness goes.
Interesting thing, had Vlad not been a dumbass in the first episode & revealed his plan, Danny would’ve eventually staked a Xenia-type claim with Vlad as mentor & Danny as the mentee. Xenia being the guiding love of mentorship which is sort of a combination between Epithumia, Storge, & Philia. Which, Epithumia is a mutual liking of a skill or subject, but I think that it’s close enough to qualify in this situation.
As for him staking claims upon all the ghosts; I feel like Danny would stop if he knew & would become both embarrassed & uncomfortable, because having been born human, he'd initially see it more from the human perspective mentally (which says possessiveness = bad) even though as a halfa, he'd instinctively feel similar to other ghosts about it.
It'd cause some mental dissonance in him for sure until someone fully explained the whole thing to him in a way he could understand which could actually prompt Jazz to study halfa psychology, how precisely ghost & human psychology differs & how they work together in halfas. If for nothing else than Danny's own sake.
Hell, the final draft of this post could be Jazz's notes on the subject that she lets Danny look at.

DP HC - Dash After High School
I like the idea that once Dash doesn't get a scholarship & his parents learn about his bullying tendencies, his parents (or at least his mother) send him to boot camp & he ends up with some talent for being a medic.
In my mind, Dash's father is a pillar of true masculine toxicity & very obviously homophobic.
Like, I feel that the terms are overly-used these days & has lost some of its meaning, but I do feel like there are certain traits of men that can be toxic if they don't learn balance, just like how I think there are certain female traits that can be toxic too.
Like, for men, there's aggressive & violent when they need to be & that's just part of being a man, it can even be a good thing in certain situations. Then, there's being overly aggressive & violent when there's no need for it or in a situation where it's not appropriate or where he's being legitimately abusive. Like, literally just because they're angry or wanna hurt someone. (I mean, if a couple guys get into a fistfight, then afterwards they laugh about it & go get a drink together, no harm done, then that's fine. Sometimes, that's just how guys interact.) Then there's overly stubborn & a refusal to be wrong & the need for others to be subservient. Those are the sorts of things that are toxic, but they aren't innately male-centric characteristics & are toxic no matter who acts that way.
Luckily, I haven't met many men around me who exemplifies this sort of thing.
As for homophobia, again, there's a difference between not agreeing with someone's lifestyle, yet still supporting their right to choose how they live... & outright hating homosexuality & treating such individuals as something less than human.
Dash's dad is the latter.
I see Dash's mom & dad being abusive in different ways, the mom being more negligent with the dad being more violent & demanding.
So, when they finally got a divorce, Dash's mom saw some of the makings of the man she married through Dash's bullying & decided that she couldn't handle it.
So, she sent him to boot camp which straightened his ass out quick & in a hurry!
He later chose to apply to the military & even later became a field medic.
He becomes a much better person because of this, his experience with teams helping him a little bit, though basic training was, like, even worse than football training could ever be, & even though he & his mom aren't on good terms, he's thankful that she put him through that even though it was for her own self-interests. Being from a town where ghosts attack at all hours also tends to help with one's reaction time.
Once he retires from the military, he goes back to school & becomes a full-fledged doctor. A surgeon specifically & he does pretty damn well.
Thing is, had his parents not gotten divorce, he would've become what he did in TUE. A fat, washed up loser.
He's also married with kids. He's bi, but he ultimately decided that he wanted a wife & kids of his own blood more than he ever could a man, so he chose to seek out women once he realized that. It's in that moment that he realized that while he was bisexual, he was also heteroromantic & felt no true romantic connection to any of the men he'd dated before.
He'd always found that odd, but now he understood.
Ultimately, he's happy &, at the 10 year reunion, he made sure to apologize to all the guys he bullied back then. Including Fenton.
They're decent friends now. Still razz & bitch at & insult & prank each other, but there's no heat to it anymore & even when they do fight, Danny fights back now &, as mentioned above, they tend to laugh about it before going off to get beers together afterwards.
Just dude shit.

DP HC - The Power of Grief
I just came across a very interesting idea from a prompt by @confusedlittlebastard. They had the idea of someone giving Danny & Ellie graves & it actually doing something for them.
I think it's a really cool idea. Like, of course they wouldn't necessarily need them unless it's a Corpse AU as they don't have corpses to bury otherwise.
It also makes sense that they wouldn't think that they'd need them because of this.
When I think about it, it'd make sense if having a well-kept, frequently visited grave, an unmarked grave, or even no grave at all, would do something to a ghost. If only psychologically.
I'm not sure what it'd do, but I'll think on it & see what I can come up with.
Though, I feel like I'd edit the death date that @confusedlittlebastard put on Ellie's gravestone, personally. As even though she was created as a half-ghost, I kinda hc that she legit died in D-Stabilized. So, I'd make that her death date myself. But that's just me.
Edit: I suppose that having a grave would give a ghost a sense of not being totally forgotten. That they had an affect on the world, even if it was a small one.
I suppose that they wouldn't necessarily need a specific burial. Like, a basic grave with their name would do or even being just another name on a monument, but if the individual had a specific burial in mind, such as being cremated & scattered at sea; then if said burial was done, then it would bring the ghost a sense of fulfillment & feeling of being acknowledged or respected.
On the other hand, not having a proper grave at all could cause quite a few psychological problems. Whether it be ghostly depression or anger issues.
I mean, aside from the psychological issues already present in just being a ghost to begin with. So, the issues would sorta compound.
@kaezer suggested that "Perhaps having a grave offers the ghost some closure. For a ghost with no unfinished business, the moment their grave is closed they pass on. Whereas a ghost with unfinished business would linger without the closure of a grave, even if they achieved their obsession. Thoughts?"
I think that's part of it, but I believe that it's still possible for ghosts to move on even without a grave. It's just that, having one, & especially being buried in the place they wanted or beside who they wanted or having the burial they wanted. Those sorts of things make passing on exponentially, incrementally easier.
It's just that, when they don't have a grave, they have to learn to be able to let that go & it can be hard being able to acknowledge that there was no one who missed them & actually find a way to be, if not okay, then not tormented by it.
It's similar to the Right of Retribution, where it is legally a ghost's right to want their murderer taken care of in whatever way they deem necessary. Whether it be by them being dead or in jail or so crippled that they are unable to harm another person. It is considered, in civilized ghost society, to be a ghost's inalienable right to wish to pursue such.
Again, the ghost CAN move on from it, let it go. But it's extremely difficult as their killer's continued existence or crimes causes direct psychological harm to ghosts.
It's all about ghosts learning to be content/at peace & ready to move on.
It's because of this that places like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is very important to ghost communities. Especially ones like the one in America where theirs is always well-maintained & treated with utmost reverence. Specifically to the ghosts of soldiers, veterans, & first responders. There's sort of this unwritten rule that such places are NOT to be haunted or disturbed. Those ghosts who do are considered extremely disrepectful & are quickly jailed.

DP HC - The Right to Retribution
This is based on the idea that an ecto-formic ghost's killer continuing to live & commit crimes is deeply traumatizing to the ghost in question.
As such, most civilized ghost societies have a law called the Right of Retribution where a ghost is allowed to do whatever they deem necessary in order to stop their killer, even if that means killing them.
It is even considered an inalienable right in a lot of places.
It's completely possible for a ghost to move on without doing this of course, but it makes it very difficult for a ghost to get to a place, psychologically, where they can do so.
It's similar to how a ghost can move on from not having a grave, but it's difficult on a personal, emotional, & psychological level.
For more on ghost psychology, go here:
& here:
I was so sure that I'd already made a post on this before or a reboot with it or something & that there was something about this mentioned in a DPxDC post regarding Jason Tood & him having been killed by the Joker, but I can't find either of them anywhere! If you know where they are, please tell me?
---
What I find interesting is that Vlad could logically make an argument that he has every right to kill Jack as he was the one responsible for his death.
The problem comes when you realize that Jack had never intended to kill Vlad. Which is key. Because in several ghostly civilizations, malicious intent is necessary for it to actually be declared retribution. As such, in societies where retribution must be justified, there is often an investigation to determine whether it is or not. Not just to figure out if the individual actually murdered said ghost, but in some, to also uncover whether or not the individual has changed & are legitimately trying to make amends.
Like, there are ectomantic spells that only the best & most magically skilled of Retributive Investigators have, that allows them to go to a place where something happened, use a bit of a ghost's ecto & a piece of the accused murderer, & it'll create an illusion of what all happened in an area & it's just one part of their job to search through the provided scenes. Upon locating said scene, they must examine it thoroughly with a fine-toothed comb. Literally, it's a magically imbued comb that allows the investogator to focus in on a fuzzy area of the illusion by combing through the fuzziness.
If it's possible that there might be someone else involved, it is their duty to locate their DNA & use that to create an even fuller picture.
When the correct & fullest version of the scenes are found, they can then be bottled to show to a committee who will end up being the ones to vote & decide whether a kill is justified.
Of course, even with such magic, it's still possible for corrupt investigators or anyone knowledgeable enough on how the magic works, to tamper with the bottles & edit the scenes inside.
Interestingly, there is no clearance needed for a ghost simply looking to help the living police to catch their killer. So long as they remain invisible & only draw the police's attention to the truth, then no ghostly lawmakers would have a problem. But things like killing or crippling do require clearance.
So, it's possible that either Vlad doesn't know that it was an accident, doesn't believe it was an accident, or he forged evidence to make it look like it was murder & it'd only take a cursory look to see that Jack has some pretty damn speciesist ideas of ghosts.
I can see him rubbing the fact that he has clearance to murder Jack in Danny's face as he could technically argue that Danny is trying to obstruct his right to enact retributive measures upon the man who killed him & depending on the laws pertaining to the area in the IR that corresponds with where Vlad's initial accident took place/where he died/where he intends to kill Jack, it's entirely possible that Jack's death wouldn't need to be justified, just proven that he was responsible at least in part.
This could lead to Danny becoming wanted by ghost law in-general & not just by Walker. As there's a difference between rules made by a ghost who's Obsession is with rules as a ghost is able to inforce said rules to a degree within their own territory; & actual laws that ghostly societies have as being documented laws.
---
At the same time, the investigation would be for the right to deliver justice upon the accused. They're trying to figure out if it'd be legal for Vlad to want Jack dead.
If so, then it means that they can't stop Vlad from killing Jack himself or from asking someone else to do it for him.
They're not gonna execute Jack themselves as that's not the purpose of the law. That would only happen if it was discovered during said investigation that Jack was a threat to ghosts as a whole & that he's committed crimes against ghosts who were ghosts at the time of said crime.
That would be when the Observants would get involved because then it's no longer just a question of Vlad's right to retribution, but the safety of ghosts in-general.
Generally, ghostly politics don't get directly involved with living matters unless it concerns ghostly society as a whole.
The investigation is just to confirm whether Jack was responsible for Vlad's death &, depending on the laws of the area in the IR that is most applicable (area corresponding to the place where the crime that resulted in Vlad's death was committed, area corresponding to where Vlad actually died, area corresponding to where Vlad plans to kill him, ect), whether or not killing Jack would be justified, further depending on whether or not he's killed someone again since.
This would all just allow clearance for Vlad to do so should he choose. It is entirely within his rights to instead decide to just have Jack arrested in the living realms or even crippled to the point where he can never hurt anyone again. Not that Vlad would choose those routes, but the fact is that he'd have those options & it'd be perfectly legal. In such a case as simply sending the man to jail, the investigation would only need to prove that Jack was responsible & possibly that there was a danger for it happening again. Not whether it was justified.
So, yes; legally, both Maddie & Sam would be subject to this as well, but Sam's part would only come up in an investigation for Danny specifically & we both know that he'd never ask for such an investigation as he doesn't blame anyone but himself for his death. Which is also completely within his right to retribution as well.
The same could also be said of Maddie in the cases of both Vlad & Danny, who was, in fact, partially responsible as well.
Jack, though, would be ska-rewed as he was also somewhat responsible for Danny's death even if it wasn't intentional.
It's also important to note that serial negligence is also a factor in these cases. Normally, Jack & Maddie could've been pardoned in some areas of the IR since the first time was an accident. Until it's discovered that it happened again, to their own son, at which point, even though that time was also an accident, it qualifies as criminally negligent homicide & it could feasibly be argued that they are liable to commit said crime in negligence again.
At the same time, if Vlad gets clearance to kill Jack, he'll also get clearance to kill Maddie too, which could end up blindsiding him as it's unknown whether he knew that Maddie was partially responsible for his death or if he was trying to deny that to himself. This might force him to confront said truth.
For all we know, it could utterly change his plans & it's undetermined as to how.
So, yes! There is a lot of factors that go into this sort of thing & it can be a headache!
Then, there are cases where a ghost's killer had died & became an ecto-formic ghost themselves. Or even if a ghost killed a human without just cause.
In such situations, it can become an entire court case. Though, the ability to call upon the victim does tend to expedite things a bit provided they remain truthful.
There's still an investigation though, as all angles are supposed to be explored to uncover the whole truth of the situation in case either party isn't saying something, forgot something, or simply doesn't know something.
If it's determined that the death was done maliciously or in negligence & it's liable to happen again or had happened before, then depending on what the victim wants to happen & what they are given clearance for, the victim can have their killer jailed, an ectomantic spell cast to have their killer artificially experience the very death that they brought upon the victim, however depending on the laws in place for the corresponding area of death, the victim is either allowed to obliterate the killer with their own hands or they can be entirely barred from doing so. Again depending on the relevant laws in place.
Most civilized ghost societies actually don't allow the victims to do as such & will instead jail the murderer if the victim wishes their existence ceased, then said murderer will be put on end row (the ghost equivalent to death row), but it is still important to establish that some societies do allow the victim to do it themselves.
It's also possible, that if the victim is actually given clearance to kill their murderer, if they don't have the stomach to perform the job, they can then request someone else do the deed, whether it be performed as part of end row or an outright assassination. If they are given that clearance, then neither the judicial system of the IR nor anyone else would have any right to interfere. Sure, someone is more than allowed to change the victim's mind, but they can't outright interfere.
However, there is definitely a different precedence when it comes to ghost on ghost forced cessation (called ectocide) which is treated much more strictly. It is generally conducted much more similarly to living world court.
In the case of Plasmius vs Phantom, Ellie specifically, practically an entirely new precedence would need to be created as not only are both halfas, but in my hc, Vlad did technically kill her, if just briefly, even though she was already half-ghost herself at the time. While one could compare her situation to having been resuscitated after being killed, to Ghosts, if all your bodily functions cease, even temporarily, then you died, if only briefly. As, you see, death leaves a sort of residue that ghosts can sense.
Vlad could easily get charged with outright murder (which would mean that he'd also be charged with attempted murder because, logically, if you managed to kill someone intentionally, then at some point you had attempted to kill them).
Because the case would be so complicated, it would require a lot of investigation, which would turn up the fact that Vlad had stolen Danny's dna, created Ellie via cloning without the boy's expressed permission, had used her, then when she refused to put herself & Danny in danger, he turned on her, chased her all over the world, & eventually melted her down resulting in a temporary cessation of all bodily functions.
That's not even getting into the fact that Elle qualifies as a baby ghost & thus is considered very precious in ghostly society.
In this case, it'd be something of a mix of ectocide & right of retribution.
By ghost law, even if someone is resuscitated, if they were medically considered dead for any amount of time, then it is still considered murder to them. The reason being that, in ghost terms, even a medically temporary cessation of life gives one a certain, albeit small, connection to death. A residue as mentioned before. And the longer that one is dead, the larger that connection will steadily become.
Even though in human terms, true death is only a thing if the person never comes back, ghosts know that there is more to it than that.
In this case, halfas are beings who die, develop a core, then are revived with that core still inside them, thus making them both alive & ghosts. In order to become a ghost & form a core, you have to have truly died. Cessation may have been temporary, but death is still death.
Which is another important thing here, the acknowledgement that a cessation took place & one's own part in it. In the case of Plasmius VS Fenton. This would very explicitly come up as not only would the Drs. Fenton be forced to acknowledge the fact that their negligence killed their son, but Danny would also be forced to acknowledge it as well. It wouldn't matter if he refused to enact his right upon them, facts are facts & the facts are that his parent's obsession killed him. And it'd be a hard pill to swallow.
---
Furthermore, during the investigation of Jack, it is very highly likely that the case would be brought to a higher court due to the danger that both he & Maddie are to ghostly society because of their ectocidal tendencies.
Because of this & the fact that they directly hunt/torture ghosts, there'd be no need to try & hide, & instead the pair would both be taken in & tried in the high court.
While they'd likely think it was all rediculous, it'd become quickly apparent that ghosts had a full & in-tact judicial system.
Both Danny & Vlad would be required to appear in court & testify under a Pheonix Song Oath to tell the truth.
It'd surprise both Vlad & Danny very deeply. Vlad due to Maddie being tried too & Danny because, despite what he keeps telling himself, when the truth of what happened comes pouring from his lips & deep inside, he knows that none of it was a lie.
Then, the confusion & horror on both of the parents' faces when Vlad & Danny are forced to reveal their secrets to the pair.
The 2 would react very differently. Maddie in abject denial & Jack with horror bordering on sickness as everything comes crashing down around him.
---
It's also important to note that sane & insane means little to nothing in ghost law, especially in the face of actions.
The biggest issue holding most cases back is time. Remember, the Realms are literally infinite & there are only so many Retributive Investigators & committees to go around. So, it can take time to get through them all. Cases related to serial killers & mass murderers tend to get handled the quickest as the many victims tend to gather together & make sort of petitions. The more victims, the more attention it draws & the more committees will notice.
So, if Jason Todd had become a ghost during his brief time dead, he & other Joker victims could've signed up for Retributive Measures & the high profile would've pushed the case through & gotten it investigated incredibly quickly. The investigators wouldn't have even needed to try too hard, Jokers crimes, mass murdering tendencies, disregard for life, his unapology, his wanton destruction, it would've insured a very rapid, very decisive guilty verdict.
Therefore, every victim would've been given full clearance to do whatever they saw as being just. The problem? Batman prevents their success at every turn.
Like, it'd be one thing if Arkham actually kept the bastard there & treated him. But they don't. Arkham is practically a revolving door for the criminally insane. Which, among retributive committees would disqualify it as a proper place to keep the Joker. Hell, it'd even be one thing if the Joker was actually effing receptive to help, but he isn't. And if there's one thing that such old committee members know from direct experience, it's where to spot someone who will never change because they don't want to. Not to mention how to identify a sane person who's just grifting in order to keep from ending up in actual jail & off death row.
Every instance in which Joker has come close to dying or even outright died? At least one of his victims were behind it.
Thing is, if Jason were to ever remember this, if he could get his hands on proof of his death from both living realm & Infinite Realms, thus proving his Infinite Realms Citizenship, register Gotham as his official haunt & even lair with the Spirit of Gotham's support, as well as an official copy of his Legal Clearance for Retributive Measures (LCRM), he could prove that he has a legal right to kill Joker & by Batman trying to stop him it makes him liable to at least a hundred years jail time in the Ghost Zone for interfering with a ghost's right to seek peace & recover mental health.
Making it clear that ghosts don't possess the same psychological structure as humans. For one, a ghost's mental state is directly connected with their physical state. That while revenge does corrupt ghosts much like it does humans, retribution does not because it is fueled by righteous fury & justified anger. By not allowing Jason to fulfill his need for retribution, he is causing many of Joker's victims to spiral ever deeper into mental & medical torment as a ghost's killer is a highly traumatic subject for them. That the killer's continued ability to keep performing such acts causes their victims ghosts to suffer more in a physical manner.
That since Jason is an Ecto-Liminal whose experienced death & thus part of both the Living & Infinite Realms at once, that means that he is allowed to take retribution directly & without restraint.
That because Gotham herself has given him permission to call Gotham his official haunt, that means that the laws of the Infinite Realms extends here & with just a few negotiations between the mayor of Gotham & the Beating-Heart Boyking, Jason will be given temporary leave of humanity so that human law will not apply to him so long as the Joker remained alive. And until that fucker is dead for good, it'll be clown season & nothing Bruce does would be able to stop him.
Either way, when a ghost's killer is dealt with, the ghost word for it roughly translates to "freeing."

DPxDC HC - Psyche Talk
I feel like Jazz & Harley would talk so much shop together, but as interesting as it would be for Harley to mentor Jazz, I actually think that Harley would be beyond fascinated by what all Jazz has discovered on ecto-psychology.

@alls-well-that-ends-weird said something very interesting that I'm kinda into.
"Ngl, I'm a sucker for ghost king aus where danny takes to the role like a fish to water bc he finds that he actually *likes* the etiquette and the formalities and the ritual of carrying out his royal duties. Once he's got teachers and advisors to teach him things hands-on he learns it fast and enjoys being able to actively and immediately put his new skillsets to frequent practical use. Am i kinetic learner who's projecting? You betcha. But i think the idea's fun."
The idea that Danny might genuinely enjoy that sort of thing & be a kinetic learner never occurred to me & I think that this idea should be seen more often.
Like, maybe he's initially reluctant for one reason or another. (Ex: doesn't think he'd be a good king, just wants to be a normal kid, doesn't want the responsibility, ect.)
Like, I could see him fighting against it tooth & nail only to then, once he yields even a little (maybe he learns that if he abdicates the throne, then the crown will default to Vlad because of his role in Pariah's defeat, this comes from the idea that because of the way he helped in the end, Vlad sorta registers as something similar to brother of the crown prince, so he'd only be considered for the role if either Danny legit died/passed on/faded or he abdicated), he learns that he's super good at it & actually really enjoys it.
Like, I've seen a number of aus where he's extremely obstinate about the whole thing & absolutely refuses to even entertain the idea of being the king. Even abdicating to a ghost bear. And I'll be honest, I don't much care for his attitude in them.
I dunno, like it's one thing if he doesn't think he'd be a good king, just wants to be a normal kid, or doesn't want the responsibility, but the way it's been portrayed in these just makes him look obstinate, childish, & selfish.
Maybe I have an idealized idea of what it means to be a ruler?
I have a post where I sort of go into why here if you're interested in looking. The Duty of Nobility

DP HC - Engineer Danny
I like to think that Danny is like his dad in that he has a talent in Guerilla Science. Like, Redneck Engineering levels. Like, he can cobble together damn near anything from everyday objects.
I think that he's actually similar to Peter Parker in this aspect, but because Danny's neurodivergent, has dyslexia & dyscalcula like his dad, everyone just assumes that he's stupid.
Like, he used to get straight As before becoming Danny Phantom, but no one saw him as genius material the same way they saw it in Jazz or Maddie.
He's actually a genius of aerospace engineering & astrophysics while having natural talent for ecto-engineering, ecto-physics, regular engineering, & normal physics.
Plus, his Canon interests in astronomy, aeronautics, & flight simulation. He literally landed a plane on his own at 14.
In a way, I consider him the Hardware Guy while Tucker is the Software Guy.

DP HC - Ghostly Attire
I hc that when Danny turns into Phantom, he can make it so he's still wearing the clothes his human form is wearing, but not only does he specifically have to concentrate on that begin the case as he transforms, but they will end up being black, white, & possibly green like his hazmat. Sometimes with his logo featured depending on the outfit.
The clothes have to match his costume's color scheme.
He just doesn't have much reason to use this ability of his normally.
Vlad can do the same thing, but like Danny, he has no real reason to do this.
Their costumes are actually merged with their ghostly aura & it gives them regenerative properties as well as a glow. If their clothes are removed, then the next time they turn ghost, the clothes will disappear & reappear on their body. Good as new.
When not in use, it's converted into energy & stored inside their core.
If they're holding something else & concentrate on moving their aura from the one they're wearing to this new one, then the ghostly properties of the old one will relocate to the new one & it will change colors to match their color scheme.
This will make this new outfit, the default one.
Only Vlad knows this.
If Danny were to ever learn how to do this & changed his look, he'd find that he's left looking at the same hazmat he died in in his hands. White with black accents.

DP HC - Ghostly Auras
I hc that most ghosts have an ominous, deathly, oppressive aura to them that typically weirds animals out & scares them. The stronger the ghost, the more strongly it's felt.
Humans usually only feel it on a subconscious level until the higher levels &, to them, every ghost has a slightly different feel to it. For instance, Skulker feels like being in the presence of a predator. (The animal kingdom kind.) While monarchs generally bring to mind being in the presence of a king that could easily have you beheaded at any moment.
Animals just feel a general predatorness.
However, that's just with animals in-general. There are some animals that are almost unaffected by the auras of ghosts unless they specifically register as being a threat, like with Pariah Dark or Dan.
Such animals are generally associated with death or interacts with spirits in one way or another. Things like cats, bats, snakes, & quite a few birds such as cardinals, bluebirds, owls, & vultures, but specifically corvids including but not limited to crows, ravens, & magpies. Several bugs such as worms, spiders, dragonflies, as well as moths & butterflies alike. Not to mention, certain canines such as the xolo dogs of Mexico, the hyenas of Africa, & the jackals of Egypt.
However, tutelaries like Danny have an aura slightly different. While there's still the deathly feeling to it, it's more a formidable feeling, like being around someone powerful that you know won't attack you. They give off a sense of comfort & safety to those that ally with them or are being protected by them, but of judgement & coming justice to those that oppose them.
However, there's still a hint of danger surrounding tutelaries that tells people to be wary on instinct. It's almost a contradictory feeling in a way.
For Danny, specifically, it's the feeling of being around a strong & capable soldier that you know would do anything to protect you. Until he bested Pariah, then it slowly turned into that of a strong & courageous soldier crowned king for his good deeds, then after his coronation, that of a benevolent ruler.
As such, animals don't outright run from or attack him, but they are instinctively wary of him.
After the accident, but before the Lunch Lady's first attack, (which was went Danny's Obsession first began to form) animals avoided Danny as he still registered to them as being a predator, but after his Obsession fully formed, they started to register him as being more of a predator who's food source decidedly wasn't them.
However, animals that are around him frequently enough will begin to recognize that he's a protector & will treat him like an alpha & someone to be respected, but it takes a lot of time & association for them to eventually get there. A lot more so than usual & even pets that are generally very friendly by nature tend to be wary of him at first, but not in a "this person is bad" way. More so a "this is a stranger" way.
The specific animals associated with death & spirits mentioned above, on the other hand, are able to immediately recognize Danny's protective aura for what it is & instantly see him as being very much a non-threat unless attacked.
Of course, they don't really follow him or try to get his attention or anything unless they recognize him specifically. They initially just recognize him as being a non-threat until they get used to him specifically, then he slowly becomes more & more friend-shaped to them.
Like, butterflies, moths, & dragonflies will just land on him for rest even if he's moving. Corvids, cardinals, & owls will perch on his head or shoulders & just chill. Cats & bats love him though.

DP - Valerie's Powers
I think that slowly over time, she’d become something along the lines of an ecto-liminal or even a pseudo-halfa, but a unique one. She might be able to gain a pseudo-core & ecto-signature, but instead of an Obsession, she'd have a Fixation due to not being a true Halfa. Also, I feel like most of her powers would be bound to her armor. (There’s this ‘race’ in DnD 5e called Animated Armor which is a soul bound to a set of armor. There’s also this homebrew somewhere that allows a character to wear said armor. So, I think of it like Valerie’s wearing one of these armors. The only difference here is that the soul possessing the armor is her own living one.)
Like, when not wearing her armor, she'd just have the typical ecto-liminal powers. Things like enhanced physicality, better senses, ability to see in the dark, able to see & touch non-ectoplasmic spiritual entities, a sort of feather fall ability, & the ability to affect people's sense of object permanence in regards to herself.
Just small, easy to dismiss things.
However, due to not being a true Halfa, she wouldn't become more powerful naturally. Instead, that'd require actually upgrading her suit as it has a sort of osmosis function that allows it to integrate technology into itself.
Taking advantage of this function, she can eventually obtain full ghost powers, but it's done by proxy of working technology enhanced with ecto-energy. So, invisibility would work using a camouflage function, intangibility would work based on molecular phasing via high-speed vibration (think the Flash), ghost rays would work by just using guns that are built into the suit, & flight is obtained via her hoverboard which would move based on the theory of acoustic levitation.
Now, normally, this sort of technology works very differently to ghost powers. Such as camouflage being when you bend the light around you to reflect away from you & molecular phasing via vibration being when molecules vibrate at such a high speed that you can pass through matter, not to mention that acoustic levitation is the use of soundwaves to keep objects suspended in the air. Whereas ghostly invisibility & intangibility are actually the ghost literally leaving the physical plain & entering the spiritual plain & flight is, again, full control of one's gravity. Or at least, that's how Halfa flight works.
However, due to Valerie's suit being powered by ectoplasm, it sort of bridges the gap between the 2. However, it would still require the technology to be sound. Like, invisibility would actually require the tech to actually successfully camouflage even without ectoplasm in order for full ghostly invisibility to work with ectoplasm. The ectoplasm just sort of… increases the tech's effectiveness, I suppose?
It would also allow her to have a unique way of becoming a better hunter that is separate from how Danny does.
It could also create interesting irony & internal conflict for her character if she were to begin to exhibit more & more ghostly features.
Though, she wouldn't ever have the same potential for raw power that Danny does.

Arcane HC - Thoughts on Piltover
Honestly? I feel like Silco has the wrong impression of Piltover.
At least, the common Piltovans.
Like, I actually don't think that most Topsiders actually know about what actually goes on in the Undercity. They don't know about the mistreatment & extremely high death rates or anything. All they know is what they're told by the people in charge.
If they did, I think that the Counsel would have a lot more trouble on their hands because Piltovans are... just people.
And, in my personal experience, people generally try to be good. Like, it takes a very hurt person to not want to try.
What if the general populous of Piltover actually believes that the Zaunites are being taken care of? What if there are food drives & clothes drives & charities to provide money & medicine & to send resources to the Lanes & they're actually very successful because everyone figures 'hey, we don't need these things as much as they do, they'll go to waste anyway if we don't, so why not give it to them', but something happens to them? Like, maybe it's all being sent to the frontlines to help with this war we hear about in the show? Or some group of Anti-Zaun assholes takes it all? Or whatever.
Like, drives & charities happen in real life, so why wouldn't they take place here? It's just that... the idea that there wouldn't be pro-Zaun activists & Zaunite rights activists or Zaun charities is extremely unusual to me & even seems very unrealistic. Like, look at the U.S.! Slaves had supporters in the form of a Union & there was even a civil war over it! One that split an entire country in half! And it was the people who had the most to gain from the status quo who did it! The Republican party exists because people thought that slavery was immoral! There have to be people who want to do right by their fellow man or it's much too cynical!
Like, be as pessimistic as you want, but the simple fact that slavery is no longer as widespread as it was proves that people care more for their fellow man than some would have us to believe.
Sure, maybe there was a hidden agenda behind it. We don't know, but at the end of the day, people who were once considered 'less than' now have more freedoms because of it.
I bet there's an entire lab in the biology department of the Academy dedicated to phytoremediation, which is a study of hybridizing plants with the express purpose of detoxifying the environment. As well as a club to study subterranean flora, fauna, & fungi.
Or what if Viktor has a project in mind to create an artificial sun in order to build greenhouses down there?
All with the intent of purifying Zaun to make it able to grow it's own crops. This would allow the Undercity to be more independent of Piltover.
It'd be one small part of something I call the Zaunite Vitalization Effort, or ZVE.
I bet there's a section of the Underground that's been set aside with the hopes of turning it into a sort of farming district. I'd call it the Duskmeadows.
I just... think about it! I say these things from personal experience because as a member of the middle class, myself, my family donates food & money ourselves because why wouldn't we? There's also missionaries to underprivileged societies & Christians donate their money with the expectation that it's going to provide supplies for those who need it literally every Sunday.
It'd be unrealistic & nihilistic for it not to be the same with Piltover.
Hell, there are even a handful of rich people irl who actually use there money for genuinely good things to actually help people! Look at Mr. Beast! He payed for a lifechanging surgery to cure the blindness of a thousand complete strangers! There are really, genuinely good people out there of every class! Even if he did it for the clout, it's still a very, very good thing he did that legitimately helped people!
And, imagine if it were true that there were charities & drives & all this other stuff with the idea of providing things for the Undercity & all those resources weren't going to their intended destination & the Pilties learned of this.
I imagine that there'd be riots in the streets!
What if all it ever took to establish the nation of Zaun... was spreading awareness of the situation throughout the Piltovan middle & lower classes? Even the higher classes to a degree!
Hell, what if we ended up with a reenactment of the French Revolution & the invention of the guillotine? What if it was started by Piltover citizens themselves?
And if this were true, how would the Zaunites react to this??
How would Vi, Jinx, Vander, & Silco react?
I mean, it'd basically fly in the face of everything they believed!
---
Now, I'm a baby fan. Brand new to the fandom, so my apologies if I'm wrong, but this is just my perspective.
Most of my knowledge of League comes from watching Arcane & I have little to no knowledge of the League of Legends game.
So, please keep this fact in mind.
