So you remember that time Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru had to ground Luke to the farm because of his actitude and he decided to leave and seek his own life with all the certainty of a world weary Tatooine kid so Darth Daddy decided to unconciously intervene before his little boy died in the desert. No? It´s a nice story.

Did you have any foreknowledge that Anakin would become Darth Vader? I feel like even if you had Revenge of the Sith must have been quite an experience
Lmao I didn't know that until I came across this gif here in tumblr:
Tumblr media
'oh damn'
That said, because of that gif, I did know he was going to be one of the most iconic and recognizeable villains of cinema by the time I started to watch the movies. But, my knowledge of what would happen was very, very narrow, I was very in the dark about it lol
Is easier to point out the things that I knew when starting the movies than the ones I didn't:
-He would lose his limbs (I did not know how, I didn't know he literally burned. And I only knew that he loses his limbs because my partner )
-He kills kids (and that I knew just because a meme that my hubby had to explain to me, but I didn't know the circumstances. In fact, what I pictured was much worse LOL)
-He kills(? Padmé (I asked my hubby if he and Padmé divorced, and he just decided to throw that spoiler at me like "no, he kills her accidentally" without further context and I was like...oh woah okay...I...generally don't like villains that kill their wives but i'll still check that out)
-Samuel L. Jackson is in these movies! :D
-HE IS LUKE'S FATHER OMG OMG AND IS TWINS OMG LEIA?? ...Wait don't Leia and Luke kiss- Oh okay
And sufficient to say: ROTS still destroyed me emotionally, what a trip. But I had a blast watching these movies, and it was also a blast watching the Original Trilogy after that! I was so, so stunned about the end of ROTJ, because seriously I always thought Luke kills Vader even when my interest on SW was below zero.
And no, I still don't know how at 24 i managed to know so little about Star Wars SJNKJNSDF
What I thought would happen in these movies was that my guy here was going to be just this cool merciless villain from about the get-go and we would just met him as an adult already. Like, he would be this dark jedi working by himself ruining the order from the inside, going into murders on weekends and blame someone else for fun, the war would be his doing, and being creepy towards everyone included his wife was probably his hobby, idk, you get it, your basic 'cool lonely villain', like maybe a Sauron of sorts.
And then George Lucas tackled me with... this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey, I'm not complaining.
My hiperfixation on Anakin and Star Wars helped me a lot with my depression, truth be told!

WIP Wednesday - Perfect Rhythm
Have a tiny little sneak from the Dancing with the Stars AU, my current NaNoWriMo project. It will be some time yet before this story gets published, as I'm allowing myself to write an absolute *first* draft, meaning, it's full of plot holes, bad language, clunky passages and all that, which will be ironed out in a second round but for now it's all about the word count, which currently stands at roughly 24.000 :D Anyways: Sneak Peek!
It took a little bit of shimmying, but thanks to Anakin's dancer's grace and agility, soon enough, they were both rid of their clothing and Obi-Wan allowed himself a moment to admire the marvel that stood at the edge of his bed. Anakin was truly a sight to behold, hard lines and lithe curves, skin glowing golden in the light of the one salt lamp Obi-Wan had kept burning in one corner of his room. He noticed a few more scars scattered across the otherwise near perfect expanse of Anakin's skin, some clearly from medical procedures, others sparking a lot more curiosity, especially if combined with the prominent one crossing his right eyebrow.
It was hard not to stumble from admiration into self-doubt. Obi-Wan's body showed the signs of his age, the graying hair, the lines that were growing a bit soft. Since his writing career had picked up, he had made sure to include regular exercise in his daily life, but there was an obvious difference between keeping a fit body and a body like Anakin's that was used and moved and maintained at perfection.

For the ABBA prompt list! :D
8. and my destination, makes it worth the while
(With obikin please? Either platonic or romantic)
Still slowly answering ABBA song lyric prompts!!
This got away from me, and involves way more Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon than I initially intended but I hope you still enjoy it.
Xxx
He was dreaming.
Obi-Wan sat up slowly, eyeing his surroundings. The last thing he knew a blast had rocked his speeder and the world went black. The lack of wreckage and destruction, no sign of enemy forces or restraints were all fairly good indicators that he was not still in his last location. Had he been rescued he’d be in a medmay - which this wasn’t. The nondescript room he found himself in could have been a meditation room in the Temple, but there was no way he’d gotten there. Whatever was happening right now wasn’t grounded in reality.
But he didn’t need any further convincing. He immediately knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was dreaming because the calming presence he had missed for twelve years was at his side.
“You’re dreaming,” Qui-Gon informed him with a smile.
Obi-Wan snorted and rolled his eyes. “Tell me something I don’t know.”
“I can’t. It’s your dream.”
“This is making my head hurt already,” Obi-Wan grumbled, feeling himself fall into the familiar pattern of interaction, regardless if he hadn’t been a padawan for over a decade, had had an apprentice of his own for just as long, and was now a Master in his own right.
“That’s probably the head wound. You took quite a hit back there. Shouldn’t you have been wearing a helmet?”
“I hate flying,” Obi-Wan muttered, running his hand over his head and finding it uninjured and whole in the dream state, as Qui-Gon laughed.
“Not much has changed there.”
“One of the only things that hasn’t,” Obi-Wan mused.
The twinkle of amusement in Qui-Gon’s eyes dimmed. “Do you want to tell me about it?”
“Yes,” Obi-Wan breathed, feeling relief in every fiber of his being. He still wished he could turn to his master for advice, even after all this time. Qui-Gon stretched his long frame and gestured for Obi-Wan to continue, it was all the invitation he needed. “In the beginning I did all the time, you know. I imagined conversations with you, tried to figure out what you would advise. I meditated for hours on end hoping to remember your words, to let your wisdom guide me.”
“And did it?”
“I did my best,” Obi-Wan whispered.
“I know evasion when I hear it, Padawan,” Qui-Gon chastised. “The full answer, if you please.”
Obi-Wan thoughts turned to Anakin as he rolled his eyes, of how much more sympathetic he felt to the young man that treated any suggestion that he felt bordered too closely on the invisible border it shared with instruction as a hostile assault now that he was a Knight and a General and not-your-padawan-anymore, Master.
A declaration that always made him smile in spite of himself, current instance included.
“I was terrified. I wasn’t ready to be a master to Anakin—I still needed my own. I didn’t know what to do, how to be what he needed. So I tried to be you.”
“And how did that go?” The corner of Qui-Gon’s beard twitched and a hand smoothed over the bristles to hide his smile, a move which Obi-Wan realized with a jolt of surprise, that he had adopted as his own.
“Well despite what Anakin might think I’ve never been as fond of meditation as you.” Obi-Wan shot a sideways glance to the man who had seemed to exist on a steady diet of fresh air and meditation throughout Obi-Wan’s hungry teenage years. “Although he is as frustrated by my adherence to protocol as you once were, even if the council is constantly chastising me otherwise.”
“Adherence to protocol? Obi-Wan Kenobi, we are not about to pretend you were a rule follower, are we?”
“Compared to some,” he sniffed.
“Ah I think that's closer to where my frustrations lay. Critical judgment and a lack of appreciation for creative flair.”
“What?!”
“Well you certainly don’t hesitate to disregard the rules that stand in your way. You just get huffy when things don’t go as you have anticipated.”
“Now you sound just like him!”
“Who?”
“Anakin, of course!” Who else?
Qui-Gon smiled an infuriatingly self satisfied I-have-just-reached-my-point-and-you’re-about-to-hear-about-it sort of smile, and Obi-Wan once again experienced a strange stab of sympathy for Anakin’s continued suffering. “It always comes back to Anakin with you, doesn’t it?”
“We were talking about him,” Obi-Wan frowned dismissively.
“No, Padawan,” Qui-Gon corrected gently, his eyes twinkling. “We were speaking of you.”
“Yes,” Obi-Wan drew out the one syllable slowly, not sure what his former master had difficulty understanding. He might not have been present for the events of the past twelve years but his last act had been to bind Obi-Wan’s life together with the young boy as it had been ever since.
Surely Qui-Gon understood how his life had come to be defined by Anakin when he had promised to train the boy, repeating the vow that had been so important to his master that he had used every one of his last breaths to secure it. Obi-Wan had stayed there as the weight of the promise sank in, long after his master’s presence had left the body that grew heavier in his arms when it should have been lighter, no longer filled with his presence. “But so were we the last time we spoke. Master.”
Qui-Gon nodded and hummed in understanding. “I didn’t have the time, Obi-Wan, to say all that needed to be said. I don’t regret entrusting Anakin, or his training, to you. That was the most important thing to see to in those moments. But I wish there’d been time for more. You were a good apprentice Obi-Wan. Even now, so young, you are a far better Jedi than I could ever hope to be. And yet I foresee you will become even greater still—one of the very best of us all.”
Obi-Wan found he didn’t know what to do or say in the face of such praise, but was saved from responding as apparently Qui-Gon wasn't done making up for all that had gone unsaid. “No,” Qui-Gon continued sadly, “I regret not being able to ease the burden of such a monumental task. In fact I fear I made it worse.”
“I don’t understand.”
“That you are so intertwined; your fate so defined by his.”
“You believed he was the chosen one. Do you still?”
“Nothing has changed that view.”
“Then…aren’t all of our fates defined by his?”
“Well said,” Qui-Gon smirked. “They don’t call you The Negotiator for nothing, do they?”
“I don’t regret it,” Obi-Wan murmured, ignoring the ribbing smile. “Entrusting him to me gave me a reason to keep going, through it all. Purpose. Something I can’t lose sight of, to hold onto, despite everything that has happened. Everyone lost. This terrible war that I can’t even imagine your reaction to.” Obi-Wan had begun to wring the fabric in his hands but stopped when he realized it and smoothed it out once more. “But seeing Anakin through it all - I can’t lose sight of that. And my destination makes it worth the while.”
“And what destination would that be?” Qui-Gon prodded gently.
“Pushing through the darkness,” Obi-Wan answered bewildered. Qui-Gon was the one who had bought into the prophecy, the one who had declared Anakin the Chosen One and altered the course of his life - their lives- forever. “Balance,” he concluded, more to himself than his former master watching with a soft, content expression.
Peace, he thought.
For the Galaxy.
The Force.
Anakin.
“A noble goal, yes”, Qui-Gon rose suddenly, towering over Obi-Wan with an inscrutable expression. “But don’t lose yourself Obi-Wan. There’s more to you than—”
“Anakin?” Obi-Wan interrupted, whirling to look around the room, so sure he could feel the other’s presence close by, burning in its intensity.
Qui-Gon seemed farther away, some of his words lost. “…you can take the future, even if you fail…”
“Will I see you again?” Obi-Wan didn’t know what made him ask, only that it seemed they still had unfinished business.
“You’ll know when the time is right,” Qui-Gon was even further still, for one of the walls to the room was now open to the outdoors. Qui-Gon had paused at the edge of a stream bathed in light. Qui-Gon raised his hand but his parting gesture disappeared in the light growing brighter and brighter still. His lips had opened but his last words were drowned out by a sudden roar that Obi-Wan felt reverberate down into his every bone.
The glare was agonizing as it burned into his eyes and sent the pain of a thousand knives stabbing cruelly into his skull. “Anakin?” He was separate from the agony that was his body as the fiery presence that was Anakin washed over Obi-Wan, bathing him in his warmth.
“Master,” Anakin breathed. “You’re going to be okay.”
I know, Obi-Wan wanted to say, but couldn’t make his body obey. You’re here.

AU in which almost all Jedi do political marriages to stop any conflict:
Obi Wan got married a few times. Satine was married to him for a few months but they got the marriage annulled because Mandalorians didn't like their Duchess being married to a Jedi. His other spouses include a ruler of a slave trade planet to put a stop to that, a few ambassadors from Separatist worlds in an effort to pull them towards the republic and Bail Organa.
Anakin almost burned the Temple down when the Council tasked Obi Wan to marry a slave trader King. Also he was in chronic fits of jealousy during the two years that Obi Wan and Bail Organa were married because he could easily tell that Obi Wan actually liked being married to Bail.
Master Mundi still has 4 wives.
Plo Koon is married to one of the Creche Masters because, well, no one knows. They just cuddle the younglings together and they are sooo happy about it.
Jocasta Nu was married to Count Dooku. They got divorced when he left the Order.
This whole thing is why Qui Gon Jinn was trying to charm Shmi. He could just marry her if he couldn't win Anakin in gambling. :'D
Anakin was never married to anyone. The Council doesn't trust him to stay still.
Mace Windu was somehow married to a Hutt when he was a Padawan only for a few short weeks and only to get intel out of the Hutt Clan. He is still traumatized about it but at least he speaks Hutteese. Anakin will never know from where Master Windu learned the word sleemo. Also, Cham Syndulla in Ryloth almost became his new spouse but they resolved the matter so it was never brought up again. His current wife is a young woman who is Count Dooku's great-niece or smt. and who got help from the Temple in her youth because of her force sensitivity. She is influential in the Separatist Worlds. She adopted a baby clone that was going to be destroyed somehow. She is a kind and calm woman who helps to settle Mace down when he sees a shatter point in the Force.
Obi Wan was lowkey into marrying Jango Fett after Kamino.
Something happened in Naboo so Padmé strategically planned to get into a short political marriage with a Jedi. The Council tasked Obi Wan. Anakin almost turned to the dark side but he was too busy trying to decide who he was jealous about between the two. Thankfully, that marriage didn't happen.
Palpatine asked for Anakin to be married to himself while he was grooming him for the Dark Side. He told Anakin that he would never be a slave again if he was with the Chancellor and the Council Masters didn't want to allow this because none of their spouses were as strong and important.
Ashoka dutifully accepted a marriage with a Separatist Lord. Anakin and Rex kidnapped her from her own wedding while Obi Wan and Padmé found her a way out.
Basically it goes like this: Conflict? Let's check the list of available Jedi.

The execution of D Y N A M I C S extends beyond loudness to include changes in timbre ( /ˈtambər/ ).[1] The origin of the idea that colors may be connected with music is [...] based on mathematical and synesthetic principles derived in antiquity from the relationships between MUSIC and FORM, Light, i n t e r v a l s, and timbre. Today, timbre is the parameter most closely associated with color, possibly due to the German word for timbre, Klangfarbe, or tone-color.[2]

heyyy margin I was wondering
for the sw high fantasy au, how are you planning to make the story go down? Will it be pretty similar to the movies, or will you be making any changes? Also, are you gonna be doing anything with all the crazy creatures found on every planet connect? Like, some of them are dragons and so on? Or there being different families all the creatures fit into? and finally, are you gonna include any ships that aren’t canon?
Ok that’s it XD
HI EVIE THANKS FOR CHECKING IN ON ME!!!
Okay SO. Let me answer these one at a time :D
(this is over a thousand words so it's going to be below the cut)
In terms of story, everything from the Prequels through the Original Trilogy is going to be pretty much the same. What I can tell you is that although I haven’t actually put that much thought into the Sequels yet, they are going to be markedly different from the current Disney canon in that they will combine elements from both the Disney canon and Legends, including Mara Jade and the other Organa-Solo kids (Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin as well as Ben) because they live rent-free in my mind.
However, a few things in the Prequels especially are going to be markedly different because the way they are executed in canon doesn’t fit into a High Fantasy world, and I’ll put these as bulletpoints:
Kamino is going to be introduced very differently. While Dooku destroying all evidence of its existence works in canon, because it’s in the outer rim and canon Star Wars is a digital, data-based world, in a fantasy setting it would be extremely difficult to cover up all the evidence of an entire island- especially in regards to its references (or lack thereof) in the Jedi Archives, because these would obviously now be a paper-and-pen, books and scrolls and tapestries library, instead of a digital archive where data can just be erased. (Though, the mental image of Dooku checking out all the books on Kamino and then burning them is very funny to me. Especially if Jocasta Nu walked in on him. “Master Dooku… what are you doing?” “Oh, nothing, dear Jocasta.” *book makes a FWOOSH sound as it goes up in flames*) Instead, in the AU Kamino is an Atlantis-esque legend to the people of the Galactic Archipelago: in the days of the Old Republic, it was sunk in divine retribution for the unnatural genetic alchemy practiced by the Kaminoans. After leaving the Jedi, Dooku discovers that Kamino is, in fact, real, and that the Kaminoans preserved their ancient fortress undersea by way of a magic barrier. When Obi-Wan learns about the Kaminoan dart from Dex, his problem in looking for Kamino is now that no one takes him seriously because at every turn, it’s dismissed as just a children’s tale.
This isn’t necessarily a story thing, but the map is slightly different; the most obvious example of this is the changing of Mustafar’s location, because it and Coruscant are part of the same chain of volcanic islands- Coruscant just happens to be dormant. In fact, Coruscant’s underworld is built into the caldera of the volcano, because it hasn’t erupted since the early days of the Old Republic and is widely thought to be extinct.
C-3PO has his own new lore now. He’s the ghost of a knight- Sir Anthony Threepio, so I can keep it phonetically similar (C-3PO = Sir Threepio) and also give a little reference to Anthony Daniels- who died in a surprise pirate ambush on Tatooine centuries ago, and the stress he retains from the events surrounding his death has made him neurotically obsessed with being prepared for absolutely every possible situation. In life, he was also incredibly intelligent, and spoke almost every language in the Galactic Archipelago. When Anakin is a little boy, he meets and befriends Threepio’s ghost, and, being the kind soul he is, offers to build him a suit of armor so Threepio can be in the world again. In gratitude, Threepio swears a knightly oath to serve Anakin’s family for as long as he is able.
R2-D2 (and, actually, all astromechs) ALSO has his own lore. Astromech Gnomes are a race that lives far below the surface of the Galactic Archipelago, and have for so long that sunlight is actually toxic to them. They are gifted with a masterful knowledge of machinery- an art lost to the rest of the Archipelago- and can build and/or fix almost anything, including ships. In addition, because they live in near-total darkness, they have an excellent internal compass, so they often work as navigators. However, because they can only ply their trades on the surface, and sunlight will kill them, they use their mechanical genius to build themselves small dome-like suits from which they can safely practice their craft without endangering themselves. In addition, they can understand but cannot speak basic, due to the fact that they have avian-like mouth structures and can only speak in whistles and chirps.
On a similar note, let’s talk about Battle Droids. I’ll try to breeze through this pretty quickly. Regular Battle Droids are necromanced skeletons (General Grievous is an ancient, undead Lich Warlord and necromances all of them), Super Battle Droids are centaur-esque automatons (in the classic sense, like in Greek and Roman mythology), and Droidekas I… haven’t actually figured out yet (if you have any ideas let me know!).
Creatures! Well, obviously I just talked about Astromechs and Battle Droids. But yes, I have thought about this! I have a few ideas which I actually came up with while I was designing Padme’s area outfit from Attack of the Clones, and then obviously I’ve been thinking about the alien races that are too bizarre to just put into my system of “There Are Many And Diverse Human Cultures In The Galactic Archipelago”. And anyway, this is a fantasy world, we need fantasy creatures. I’ll put these in bulletpoints, too. In regards to all of these, I’m trying to keep their in-canon appearances as much as possible while just amping up the fantasy vibe, so- for example- Admiral Ackbar will still look like Admiral Ackbar, but with lobster legs. And such.
Nexu are manticore-esque
Acklays are something like a Cockatrice
The Rhino Thing whose name I can never remember? The thing Anakin fights? That’s a Tarasque now.
The Aquatic races are all types of merfolk: Nautolans are your classic mermaids, and still have their head tentacles (for reference, I’ll upload a picture of Heroforge!Kit Fisto at the end of this list); Mon Calamari are crustacean-legged; Quarren are squid-people; and the other fish-people (like the one who steals Ahsoka’s lightsabers in that one episode) are. Well. They’re fish mermaids.
Heroforge!Kit Fisto:
Tumblr media
Thisspiasians are like Nagas, but with four arms.
Besalisks are centaurs. But with four arms. (There’s a lot of four-armed creatures in star wars.)
Yoda is a delightful little imp-creature.
Kaminoans are. Well. Kaminoans. I think they’re weird enough to just leave alone.
Geonosians are malicious insect-like pixies (in the classic sense)
Darth Maul specifically is a Drider- a spider-legs person. The Clone Wars writers were cowards (affectionate), but I am not, so he keeps the spider legs.
If you have any more ideas for creatures to fantasy-ify, I’d LOVE to hear them!
Ships. Both in the boat sense and the romance sense. But I suspect you’re talking about the romance sense here :) So here’s the thing, most of my Star Wars ships are. Already canon. (A few I think might just be widely-accepted fanon, but that could just be because I’m not quite done with TCW and I haven’t started TBB yet, so that remains to be seen). HOWEVER. There is, in fact, Mara Jade, and as she is no longer Disney canon, I think it’s safe to say that she and Luke are no longer canon, so yes, there will be at least ONE non-canonical ship in this AU- that being the aforementioned Luke and Mara Jade. There might be others, which I will get back to you on upon completion of TCW and TBB. (Oh, and there’s also pre-Sith Dooku and Jocasta Nu, because old people in love is near and dear to my heart, and I don’t know if this counts as non-canon or not, but that will be at least briefly touched upon.)
I hope you found this enjoyable and enlightening. And also, you know me, if you have any follow-ups, I will be DELIGHTED to scream about those with you :D

Hey just wanna say i (as an individual who ships obikin) thank u for putting encouraging words about obikin even if u see them as besties. It’s really discouraging to see so many other shippers sh*tting on obikin people just for shipping obiwan and anakin. Yes ik it’s a controversial ship if u look at it closely but i just do it for fun (and love the chemistry between them). I dont shit on other ships (unless it’s really REALLY problematic) and like cant they just leave us alone in peace?? Same with reylo like yes it’s another controversial ship but again if u dont think and/or look too hard then just have fun with it.
I dont mind codywan im not a huge fan but i see why they ship it, just aint feeling it like obikin does. Same for the rest of other ships (except for dinluke i will die for it as well)
Sorry for the ramble (^^;) long story short that campaign speech u put for the silly ship poll was well put!
Hi anon, I am incredibly glad to hear that I could reassure you after all the mean things that antishippers have been saying about your ship. Ship and let ship is a crucial rule in this house of mine, in which Obikin and Codywan are both very welcome. :D
However, I do invite you to examine some of your own beliefs about this subject. Specifically, I'm curious what compelled you to say "I don't shit on other ships (unless it's really REALLY problematic)." While that's the part that most stood out to me, there is other concerning verbiage in your ask (i.e. the frequent use of the word "controversial" and "if u don't think and/or look too hard" which both felt like similar apologetic statements you use when shipping something you feel others will judge you for).
First, I want to highlight what you said about why you ship Obikin — "i just do it for fun (and love the chemistry between them)." To me, that communicates that you don't see any harm in someone enjoying a ship purely because it is appealing to them. Additionally, you say, "can't they just leave us alone in peace??" which suggests frustration that other people don't share your opinion.
Is it possible that the "really REALLY problematic" ships are enjoyed by people for reasons similar to yours? Is it possible that they, too, would like others to leave them alone and let them enjoy a harmless hobby in peace? What makes it acceptable to shit on their ships and not yours? Who gets to decide which ship is an Obikin-level ship and which is a "really REALLY problematic" ship? You? Me? Can you be certain that our definitions agree?
The first thing you should consider is what makes you feel like a ship is "really REALLY problematic." I think you'll find that most of it is a Squick factor — a gross-level factor. Maybe Obikin is "hot" to you, but it does gross other people out. Similarly, perhaps some ships, especially ones with components that might not make much sense in real life, are "hot" to others but gross you out.
For example, I'd like you to picture Chancellor Palpatine kissing AOTC Anakin on the mouth. Make sure your imagination includes Anakin's young boyish features and his barely-legal Padawan braid. 😉 Now imagine them having sex. In case you're having a hard time picturing this, here's some pictures of them to help you out! 😊
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you're like most people I know, I bet you're super grossed out right now. You might even consider Palpakin to be much more problematic than Obikin. But I chose Palpakin as a comparison for a reason! Because, when it comes down to it, how are these two ships any different in scale? Anakin views both Obi-Wan and Palpatine as a father figure. Both have mentored Anakin since he was 9 years old. There is a significant age gap and power imbalance in both ships. I've even read both Obikin and Palpakin fics that feature sexual activities with Anakin while he's still a minor.
It seems the only difference is that one tends to gross out the average person more than the other. Is being grossed out a reason to shit on someone's harmless hobby? For example, I'm extremely grossed out by sushi. Is that a reason to ban sushi worldwide? Obikin might gross me out, but I don't come after you or your fellow shippers. Palpakin might gross you out, but that's not an excuse to come after me. And maybe other ships gross both of us out, but I will not join you in going after them.
In other words, ALL fandommers, as you so aptly put, "just want to be left alone" and "enjoy the chemistry" of their ship without "thinking about it too hard." So until you agree that NO ship is problematic, you are inviting the same criticism upon ships that YOU like. Because anti-shippers aren't just coming for the "really REALLY problematic" ships; they're coming for every single one of them.

10. Top three favourite fic tropes?
19. Share a snippet from a wip without giving any context for it.
{I hope this next week brings you calmer waters & smoother sailing!}
10. i would say fake marriage (fake dating is fine in a pinch but fake marriage is *chef's kiss*), amnesia, and uhh love aids recovery? is that even a trope or just a premise?
19.
For as much as people hated Padme, an equal number of people adored her. This had been the first televised election and so the people could see their elected representatives walking and talking on the TV screen. They weren’t pictures in a newspaper or voices on the radio, and that, Anakin suspected, was a big reason why Clovis had gotten elected. President Jin was a great leader, but he didn’t have what one might call star power. He was a quiet, thoughtful man who had hand-picked Anakin out of the fray of returning soldiers. Many people, Kenobi included, didn’t want Anakin—he was a private, a nobody, but he’d been there at Normandy on D-Day and he had done what they say was a very brave thing—not just because of his lack of training, but also because he had lied on his enlistment form. He’d been sixteen, not seventeen. He’d always hated school, could never sit still long enough to learn anything, and there was a war to fight so he felt he had to join it. And now he was only twenty-three, the youngest White House SSA in history.

I love your art and I have fallen in love with your OC Bo-ka. Would it be okay to know more about her? I’m so curious as to what species she is
Thank you! <3<3This question just made my day!
So, about her species.
I haven't come up with a name for the species itself, or their home planet yet, but here's what's established: The planet she is from is a jungle planet, with giant trees that often block all sunlight, making everything dark that is not higher than the trees. Because of this, a lot of plants and creatures have bioluminescent qualities/traits including Bo-ka's species.
Her species have feline-like qualities, like sharp fangs and claws, long furry tails, different-shaped ears, and eyes that see very well in the dark. (They are also flexible and for the most part, can move like cats)
They have bioluminescent markings all over their body, usually from the neck down, rarely on the face. These markings can be stripes (like in Bo-ka's case) spots and all sorts of shapes. In direct light, the markings simply appear white, nut in the dark they glow which can be a problem on missions, which is why she wears clothing that completely covers them.
Now about her life. compared to canon, she would be two years younger than Anakin. She becomes a padawan at age eleven to Uli Bittago, a nautolian Knight. She has a padawan brother, Tama Noroni, a human knight. She is knighted at 18, in the middle of the clone wars, after her master dies during a fight, and she has to step up as general. She survives order 66.
So far that's what I have for her, but I'm gonna use this opportunity to post this reference sheet of her clothing (does it make sense to canon Jedi outfit-wise? No, but I like it so it is how it is) :D

My current WIPs
I figured I could use a post like this since my WIPs are getting a little out of hand as of late :D Status: Nov. 13th, 2023, will be updated as needed! WIPs already on Ao3: Like Puppets on a Broken String - My attempt at a Fix It, that roughly follows the events of RotS all the way to potentially RotJ. Obikin Endgame, but a bit of slowburn. Definitely dramatic. Also my first work in the Obikin fandom and therefore very special to me! Status: Currently on a bit of a hiatus, but still very much close to my heart. Heel - Sith!Obikin AU with Emperor Kenobi. Started out as a quick drabble to get the image of Obi-Wan in white imperial robes commanding his hound Vaderkin out of my mind, has since become my Kinktober 2023 project and grown a plot. Status: Very much ongoing.
WIPs not yet published: Soul on Fire - Merrical, Post Jedi Survivor, Alternative Ending. Lots of Nightsisters Lore Homebrew, Cuteness and Heartache. BD1!!! Status: In the Layout/Planning Phase
Aftercare - Obikin, post Zygerria Arc, hopefully a Oneshot but you never know where the plotbunnies go! :D Status: Started but very much a UFO at the moment
Hide & Seek - Obikin, 5+1, inspired by Grapenehi's An Uncivil War. Status: About halfway done, unfortunately got sidelined a bit by other plot bunnies.
Perfect Rhythm - Obikin, Dancing with the Stars AU, slowburn (though the boys missed that announcement, clearly), lots of Easter Eggs, big cast, music, silliness. Based of a wonderful idea by Wibz! Status: My NaNoWriMo project 2023, 12 Chapters layed out, writing's going great! <3 The Holiday AU - Obikin. What it says on the tin :D Obi-Wan as Cameron Diaz' character, Widowed Anakin with the twins in a snowy cottage somewhere in the countryside. Need I say more? Status: Conceived. Hopefully gets written in time for Christmas! <3 Edit: There's also a handful of secret projects which are not included in this list for gift exchanges and such <3 I'm not forgetting those but cannot, for obvious reasons, give anything away about them <3

Kit! What happened next in the Mr. and Mr. Sith AU??😰 how did the Padawans react to Actually-Master-Skywalker bursting in all deranged and stuff?? When does Obi-Wan confess he’s actually an ex-sith lord lol oops did I forget to tell you????
(Hope you’re okay love your work!)
such a good question ….
I feel like the only thing that keeps the Jedi alive to tell the tale is that Luke is there and just a bit too young to deal with all that murder so close to him lol like imagine anakin comes in lightsabers blazing and obi-wan is so into it like really really embarrassingly into it but Luke already saw obi-wan killing someone today, they really should try to limit that……
So regretfully he calls anakin off by distracting him so the Jedi are just sort of. Hostages. Disarmed and tied up and forced to then watch the domestic between obi-wan and anakin when anakin then confronts obi-wan for lying to him the whole time they’ve been together like
Anakin, pointing the red lightsaber he found by his at tied up obi-wan: SITH!!
Obi-Wan, blustering: oh well, come now, what’s in a name, really? I mean—wait a second!! JEDI!!!
Luke, just wanting to be included: Luke! :D

Top 5 ObiMaul headcanons 👀
Oooh that's a fun ship! Here are my top five headcanons that I've come up with over the last few years for these two! :D
One of my headcanons for these two is they have some kind of connection to each other ever since Obi-Wan cut Maul in half in the Phantom Menace. I mean that in the sense that they kept being drawn to each other at various points in their lives including the end there where Maul seeks Obi-Wan out on Tatooine to have the man end his life. Bc it could be no one but Obi-Wan to do this for him since it was also Obi-Wan that set his life away from Darth Sidious in motion back in the Phantom Menace, so it might as well be the same man who ends his life once and for all.
2. Another headcanon that is kind of confirmed in TCW canon is that once Maul made his reappearance to the galaxy when Savage found him, Obi-Wan went searching for records about Maul. Just to understand why the Zabrak is the way he is bc I doubt that Obi-Wan had been able to take time right after Qui Gon had been killed and then taking on Anakin as a Padawan. I do think that he took every available route to find records that could point to Maul as a person and that it would lead him to Dathomir - which I would have loved an episode on that bc I'm a sucker for seeing how Jedi conduct research and all that. It is confirmed by a TCW episode, Lawless that he visited one of the villages and got Maul's story of being handed over to the Sith as a baby.
3. Another headcanon which is based purely on my Maul is Leia's Master au since that's fun to think about, but I do believe in that scenario where they're trapped with each other for long stretches of time they would talk/debate philosophy of the Light and Dark sides of the Force - at least their sects for it. It's inevitable when Leia and Luke spend time with each other and they're not changing their minds on why they believe in the Light or the Dark side, but a closeness that comes with it. An understanding that it's sharing pieces of themselves with each other since there is no one else to understand it with the lives that they had lived through before taking on the Skywalker twins as their students. Maybe a romance blooms between them in their old age, the kind that remains unspoken even if it helps with dealing with the realities of the Empire as two Force-Sensitive individuals.
4. This one's a fun, little personal headcanon for myself, but I could definitely see Maul and Obi-Wan being in an ace/ace relationship with each other. I would like to explore that more in a fic since there are ideas that I can't fully explain in an ask like this.
5. Last headcanon, but I feel that Obi-Wan carries the memory of Darth Maul once he buries the man's body somewhere on Tatooine. Not in the same way he does for Anakin or Ashoka, but as a way to push him forward to make sure Luke lives to be trained in the Force bc someone needs to take down Sidious for all that he has done. But especially to Maul bc Maul never stood a chance when he was given to the man to be trained as a Sith apprentice as a baby. It's a personal injustice, but it shouldn't have had to happen to someone who would have likely thrived if he wasn't subjected to the training and abuse that Sidious did to Maul for most significant parts of the Zabrak's life.

EDGELORD BATTLE BRACKET 2024: ROUND 1, PART 2
Tumblr media
Propaganda:
Law:
Look at this man. He listens to Mcr on repeat. Has the happiest most adorable crew in the world and still looks like a 2005 scene queen. Eyeliner for days. Definitely cried when Ryan Ross left patd. This man is constantly pretending that he hates everyone and everything but has an alliance with the most sunshine boy in the world. Wears his dead adoptive father's symbol on his back for the drama. Only wears black. Eyeliner for days. Mikey Way coded in that he constantly looks like a shivering wet Chihuahua.
A deadly surgeon who lost his entire town to the paranoia of the elite, and then lost his surrogate father to a cruel reflection of those elite. Became a pirate to get his revenge. Only problem? He’s the only serious person in a circus of a sea. Watching him deal with the Straw Hats is a delight.
He's basically the shadow the hedgehog of one piece, aka the egdy boy with a tragic backstory most fans have a crush on. Hes covered in tattoos, including two knuckle tatts that both say "DEATH". His fearsome pirate nicknames are "The Surgeon of Death" and "Dr. Heart stealer". Constant undereye bags/eyeliner(?) (I think its both). He spends almost all of his time pre-timeskip looking smug and mysterious and half his screentime post-time skip getting his shit kicked in (heaving, bloody, on the floor <3). Hes WAY over serious all the time which is why its so fun to see the silly strawhat crew interact with him

THIRD BATCH OF SITH WORKS ❤️‍🔥
Stay tuned for fic author reveals in the upcoming days!
📣 A small note from the mods:
We’ve been contacted by a few participants about issues with the deadlines. We don’t want anybody stressed with our fest, so we decided to still keep the window open for posting art and fics until (and including) the final date of the festival: May 1st!
We’re absolutely thrilled with the engagement and reach of this project, and if keeping the deadline open until the end can help, we’re happy to oblige ❤️‍🔥

Obi-Wan thinks banging Ani back to the light would work but instead he rides the man into the dark side instead. They end up falling together

Prompt:
Qui-Gon dies but Obi-Wan doesn't get to train Anakin, he is given to another Master. Years pass and without the help of taking care of his young charge Obi-Wan is not dealing well with his grief and emotions.
So when during a mission to investigate Kamino he is approached by his grandmaster Dooku, there isn't much holding him in the Jedi Order.
What Obi-Wan doesn't know is that young Anakin harboured a massive crush for him and now will do anything to bring his beloved Obi back to him.
DW: Anakin being obsessed over Obi-Wan, finding ways to seek him out and confront him, getting angry and jealous when Kenobi fights or flirts with other Jedi. Obi-Wan secretly trying to protect the boy from Sidious grand plan.
DNW: Infidelity. Obi-Wan or Anakin openly engaging in any sexual or romantic activity with someone else (past mentions of flings are fine).

Whump with sith Obi-Wan + jedi anakin.
They haven't known each other for long but actually long enough for them both to develop feelings to each other despite their differences. The context on how they meet is up to you. It can be because of a mission the council assigned to Anakin, but yeah you decide.
One day Anakin gets seriously injured by one of Lord Kenobi's inquisitors. Obi-Wan goes feral and fully in protective boyfriend mode (The guilty inquisitor is immediately killed of course).
DW: The more angsty and whumpie the better!, Blood loss injury
DNW: major character's death (it can be temporary tho), smut
• taste of the divine by Anonymous
married sith obikin!
could be with either one as emperor and the other being their 'right hand' or the proposal/ceremony, or literally however you want it, just them being happily married and very evil :D
DW: since its an au so preferably suitless vader, smut not required but idm, also its okay if they border on a little unhealthy
DNW: non-con, scat, etc. and anidala
• Blade to Blade by Anonymous
Anakin was sent to take down the Sith lord Darth Placidus, but made another choice instead. But returning to his life as a Jedi afterwards won't be as simple as he thought.

House Of Memories (42/?)
Obi-Wan Kenobi x Padawan!reader
Warnings: ansgt (the usual) bad decisions (also the usual)
Summary: There's a new mission, and you discuss your uneasiness of it with your dear friend, Anakin Skywalker.
A/n: tbh this is just Anakin fluff... there will be a second update tonight, and you can thank @elmontsmile for that bc she made me
also y'all if you like the story, maybe consider buying me a coffee :)
Words: 2.1k
Tumblr media
The new mission, the one that had been discussed for hours in the council room, in a meeting that overtook your training time by an hour, it was possibly the biggest mission in the temple since the clone wars began.
A team of about thirty Jedi, including several council members were assigned to the task. Those council members by name, were Mace Windu, Plo Koon, Yoda, and of course, the reliable Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. There were several other knights, with their clone battalions at the ready, one being Anakin. Since this mission required as many available hands as they could acquire, you would be standing on the front lines with your Master, ready to face whatever challenges arose.
The droid army, led by Count Dooku and his Sith master Darth Sidious were hiding out on a planet called D-Qar, unawares that the Jedi order obtained their location.
The mission, though overly crowded with experienced Jedi, should be simple enough. The clone battalions would do most of the grunt work, planting explosives, and making sure the perimeter was secure for you all to make a distraction. No lives were to be lost on this endeavor, that was the primary goal, which is why so many reinforcements were required. This battle was one the jedi had hoped would be in and out having had no casualties. It was a bitter hope, as in the back of their minds they knew something had to be in store. Nothing ever went as planned in the order. There were successes, sure, all the time, but often because sacrifices were made for the greater good.
There was an entire Star Cruiser filled with the lot of you, preparing for possibly the most nerve-wracking mission you'd been on since this whole thing began. Everyone was on edge, though they didn't let on, and you, as well as Anakin, were sitting in one of the many hallways, where it was quiet and serene, the only sound being the distant murmur of thrusting engines.
"Do you think we're walking into a trap?" It had been on your mind since you left, and you could only wonder if your former fellow Padawan would agree.
"I think it seems too easy. No one will admit it, but the simplicity of the plan makes them feel anxious, I can sense it in the force, it's surrounding me."
"I can, too. I wonder if the 'no casualties' rule will stand once we reach ground," you began to fidget with your hands, something you'd picked up and hadn't been able to quit, not since you were a child.
"What do you mean?" he turned his head to you, sensing more distress in your outwardly calm being than anywhere else on the ship.
"If it should turn out to be a trap, and if they are prepared for us to come... they've always been one step ahead of us, somehow. Like there's one big puppet master playing both sides, but we got his undominant hand. I can't help but feel like something is wrong about this, and life will be lost."
"I won't let anything happen to you, you know that" he promised, wrapping an arm around your shoulders, your shakiness worrying him more than perhaps you were about this.
"I'm not scared to die," you told him, smirking. You'd brushed with death more times than you could count, and most of those times, Anakin was usually there to prevent things from going too far. On the other hand, there was on person who would much rather sacrifice themself for you than put you in harm's way of any kind. "I'm worried about Obi-Wan. You know him, he's stubborn. He'd run into the face of danger if it meant keeping either of us safe."
"This might sound awful, but I've never really been concerned about him in that way. Maybe I overestimate him, but since I was a kid, he always seemed invincible to me."
You laughed, that was one way to see him. You'd seen more, though, much more, and from each little scar he ever bore, you knew his humanity was evident. He was not a god, nor was he some substantial being in the force. He was a Jedi Master, and a good one, but he was still just a man, and he could bleed. Flesh and blood, that's all he was.... but not to you. To you, he was everything, and if he'd put himself on the line to defend you, you'd be unhappy for the rest of your life. The darkness always found a way to get ahold of you when you were at your lowest.
"He is one of the greatest Jedi I've ever known, as wise as Master Yoda, and Powerful as Master Windu. I suppose I don't wish to think of him as less, because it makes him seem so... mortal."
You understood, and for the most part you could relate. You wanted to see Obi-Wan as such, and believe it, so that your mind would not worry so much, but you couldn't help yourself. He was the love of your life, and anything bad happening to him was something for you to be stressed over.
"I'm often just reminded of what life would be like without him, and though I know his capabilities, I can't help but feel like he wouldn't think twice if it were for the cause of a greater good. He's selfless, he always thinks of others," you turned to him, and he nodded in understanding. The look in your eyes was enough for him to see how much adoration you held for Obi-Wan. Your worries over him, and wishes that he might stay safe, it was what he often thought about Padme, though he was wise enough not to voice those thoughts, in fears that she would become upset. Padme was strong, and courageous, and she made it known.
"If it makes you feel any better, I don't believe he would do anything that would prevent you from being happy. He cares about you more than you could ever comprehend."
"I think I might have an idea," you smirked at him, and he rolled his eyes. The mood became lighter after that, the conversation spiraling into the type of jokes you once would share. It felt like old times.
Anakin was your brother, and you loved him dearly. You never wished for a sibling, or a family member to be connected to, because in your eyes, you'd had one since you were seven years old.
"You can spare me the details."
"You started it."
-
It was a trap, a premeditated, organized, and prepared trap. The battle-droids were in droves of hundreds at the time. You figured they outnumbered the jedi by at least fifty to one. You may have been well trained, and your experience with these stupid clankers went without saying but having thirty of them on your six while trying to scale grounds was horribly challenging.
The Clone Troopers were trying to fend off as many as they could but given that most of them were infiltrating the base, that left few squadrons to be of service in the distraction portion of this mission. Two Jedi had lost their lives today, and you knew that the clone casualties had probably outnumbered that by ten times. No more lives, no more. You followed after Anakin, who was leading the retreating Jedi into a tunnel that would wind into the mountain, coming out the other side where your transports were. Anakin was a born leader, you could tell by his composure in rough circumstances, his calmness in the middle of a massive storm.
"Everybody in," he yelled out, guarding the entrance so that there was no chance a droid slipped in without him knowing about it.
You scanned the area, staying on the offense for as long as you could. If you switched to a more defensive form of combat, it meant you felt too overwhelmed to make any attacks, only blocking that which you could. There were very few Jedi left outside the tunnel, being you, Yoda, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and of course, the powerhouse himself, Master Windu.
He was at the very front lines, before all of you, and Obi-Wan was bringing up his rear.
"Master Kenobi, get your Padawan out of here," Mace Windu shouted over the chaos, but Obi-Wan would not leave the man to fend for himself. Yoda had made the wise choice to accept temporary defeat, heading over by Anakin to near the tunnel. He knew that fighting for a lost cause, however stoic and valiant, would only end in more loss. This was something he stood by and hoped the others would come to their senses and acknowledge as well.
"What about you?" he refused to leave a man behind. No matter their differences, they were Jedi, bound as allies by the order, and would not forsake the other to die like this. Obi-Wan was honorable, almost to a fault.
"I will be right behind you, now go!"
Kenobi used a bout of the force to push away an oncoming group of droids, which gave him a few seconds of a head start to run in your direction. You hadn't been too far from the tunnel, but he knew you weren't leaving without him. He had to snap out of his head when he first saw you. Five days out of the infirmary after being shot twice and look at you now. You were so elegant to behold. Your form of combat was so elegant, Makashi, form two... there were hints and a few subtle moves that reflected that of his own form, from what he'd taught you, you learned to combine the forms into one of your own, and it was beautiful. He had to rid himself of the thoughts, and save them for later, because this wasn't the time to be admiring you, although you deserved to be.
He rushed beside you, helping to fend off the remaining droids in your area before placing a hand at the small of your back and rushing you towards the tunnel. You looked back at Mace Windu, the way he backed up slowly, but gave you all time to escape.
Once you were in the tunnel, Anakin followed, leaving just one Jedi on the battlefield. When you were fully inside the cavernous stretches, the pathway narrow, you heard an explosion in the distance. They did it, the clones had accomplished their mission. Now it was time for you to complete yours. No more lives lost, no more.
As Mace hurried himself into the tunnel, the rocky ceiling above you began to shake. Everyone was running now, knowing that this whole location was probably becoming unstable for the blasts of the base.
The exit could be seen, and Anakin was the first one out, waiting at the opening for the rest of you to follow. Both you and Obi-Wan made it out of the cave at the same time, but upon hearing a rocky stalagmite falling from the tunnel's ceiling, you turned back. Mace Windu was trapped, with his leg rendered useless beneath the stone. He tried to lift it using the force, but was unsuccessful, probably due to the pain.
The opening of the cavern was closing in, and the rocks would enclose on him at any second, so you ran back, hearing the protesting cries of Obi-Wan behind you.
"Don't go," he tried to grab your arm, but you pushed him back, using a rush of invisible force, and kept running. You dropped to your back leg and slid under the falling debris, hearing the yells of your master become muffled as you let the darkness of the cold wet cave surround you.
