Oh, of course! I've been wanting to draw my beloved big Bad Rat for a little while now, and this is the perfect excuse to do just that! I'd be willing to answer any questions you or anybody else might have about him, Sunflower Anon, though for the sake of this ask I have a few doodles I drew specifically for you!

In Brat's introductory post, I mention that he serves as both the head honcho of every rat in the Pizza Tower as well as a rival to Brick the Rat. While the former is still very much true, the latter has since been changed since my sister @stephysalcido opened my third eye with a headcanon she proposed while I was partaking in a doodle session.

"What if Brat and Brick had an older brother/younger sister dynamic?"

It was a headcanon perfect enough for me to consider canon!

The above two doodles were drawn as a result of Stephanie's suggestion, the second one in particular showing how supportive Brat is of Brick in just about everything she does. Perhaps now the reason Brat goes after Peppino (And Gustavo to an extent) could be because he doesn't want anyone harming his little sister.

The former doodle is one I find to be particularly important because it's my personal headcanon regarding the size difference between Brick and Brat... and given the fact that I see Brick to be about this big, imagine how big that must make Brat!

I also wanted to include a doodle of what Brat would look like without his trademark deep grey beanie for this ask, and drew just that— with Brick wearing it instead! Seems as though it's ever so slightly too big on her, wouldn't you agree?

On the topic of Brat's the Rat's hat, you might notice that I draw his head slightly differently than how I used to; now, instead of his ears protruding out of his beanie, they fold out from underneath it. I find that this looks a lot more natural and a good deal cuter too!

And since I did a doodle of Brat without his hat, I figured I could also tackle another angle not yet seen of him— specifically, his mouth, and his incisors that are a good deal larger than Brick's own.

I had a lot of fun drawing these and am totally open to drawing more of the beeg rat if anyone would love to see more of him! 🍕🐀✨

I get why the real-life players are mad about the Rat Grinders doing power leveling -- like, that's fucking annoying. I get it.

But I love Riz's anger about it. I need more of that, to be honest. What do you mean, he's had to save the world 3 times and he's maybe 17? What do you mean, his friends have died in front of him over and over? What do you mean, after all of that, it's still not enough to keep his mom from worrying about his future? What do you fucking mean???

Gorthalax said that the fucking Rat Grinders have killed like 80,000 rats. At 10XP a pop, that's 800,000 XP just for the rats. Which puts them at, like, level 12 or 13 or something when you divide it up.

They didn't have to die or watch their friends die. They weren't kidnapped by a mirror person or confronted with watching their parents be interrogated in hell. They got to go into the forest after school for hours and kill tiny forest creatures over and over.

It didn't have to be this way. None of this had to happen. They got a fuck ton of trauma (that they're only vaguely dealing with, really, if that) and pain and time spent away from their loved ones and birthdays missed and none of it had to happen.

So yeah, fuck the Rat Grinders. But, more than that, fuck the whole fucking thing.

Fabian offered a truce and made up with his (LEGALLY AND FINANCIALLY RECOGNIZED) nemesis so his friend could go one a date without it being weird, Kristin didn’t even ask him to do it.

It’s not that the Ratgrinders don’t know eachother, they know eachother. They just don’t like these people they know so well.

The bad kids know eachother and like love the people they’ve gotten to know. They have allowed themselves to be changed by one another, to become better for eachother.

The ratgrinders will unprompted find ways to slight eachother, get some sort of advantage over their party members.

The Bad Kids don’t have to ask eachother to be caring. They would lower themselves so they don’t block the others from view.

They are not the same.

i wonder how the rat grinders felt when they realized that not only are the bad kids insanely good adventurers, but they also love each other.

like, i can just imagine the high 5 heroes first starting out, and they're excited and nervous because they all just met and hit it off, and they're going to be an adventuring party now! and then they hear about another group of freshmen who got detention together and are forced to be an adventuring party, but also they got into their fight (an actual fight!) and they totally killed the lunch lady!

and maybe they were a little envious because the bad kids got actual experience, but they pushed that aside. they would get to have their own adventure in their own time! and it's a little sad that the bad kids were forced together instead of getting to choose like they did. and then months go by, and they realize they might not have as much in common as they thought, and maybe they start to really only talk when they're in the woods killing rats, but hey, at least they chose each other!

and then the bad kids kill the acting principal, unravel a whole apocalypse that was about to happen, and save the world, and the high 5 heroes realize they just spent all of freshman year killing rats. and then sophomore year happens, and they probably see how close the bad kids, how they literally revolve around each other, and some of them literally live in the same house as each other. the bad kids go on a big world-saving adventure again, and they see videos on the bad kid's website of them having a great time being an adventuring party. and maybe they look at the people they chose to be an adventuring party with, and they realize they really don't care about each other that much.

i wonder if they looked at the bad kids and realized they had everything the rat grinders wanted: favoritism from the school, honed skills from actual fights, world-saving adventures, and a family. i wonder if that's when they really started to hate them.

so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.
