My newest hobby is watching short horror films on YouTube and y'all there are so many good ones that I think need more appreciation. Here's a few of my favorites (tw horror, gore, death, etc)
This one is about a US air base in Germany that gets attacked by a werewolf. And guess what! It's all handmade practical effects!!!!
I really liked this one because you think it's gonna be one thing then turns out to be something different in a very forlorn way that I really like with scary stories (I think forlorn is an ok word to describe it but idk it's a feeling I can't often put into words)
Johnny had it coming (I want a funky little creature like that)
SO MANY FEELS
This is about vampirism and love and the things you do for family. I want to see more
THE COLORS THE VISUALS THE ALL OF IT I WANT THIS STAPLED TO MY HEART

Episode 2 - Watching Midnight
"I've done nothing wrong here, I've followed all of your rules, I've been a good little boy this entire time Victoria, what else do you wish of me?"
Victoria rolled her eyes like a parent disappointed with her child. Robbie was new, young, and impulsive, but right now that's what she needed. The other council members had taken a liking to Robbie, she didn't understand why, but she understood politics enough to let them have what they wanted and as such to let Robbie have what he wanted and what he wanted was another toy to play with.
"This girl, who is she? What's her background? Famous? Important?"
"No," Robbie shook his head at once. "Just a normal girl, a rookie officer, that's all. No one will miss her-"
"Alright, if you wish," Victoria gave her assent. He would do it any ways. She turned to make her exit but stopped to say one last thing. "With the recent activity it might be best to wait before taking her. Figure out whose slaughtering these people, deal with with that first and then let a little more time pass. Then make your move-"
Robbie groaned at that, impatient as usual. Talla, he thought, would be such a good piece for his collection. He had watched her a few nights, it would be so easy, he could have her under his control within a week or two.
"Robbie, trust me on this. Wait. Ok? I have a feeling we've already set off a few alarms here and the last thing we need right now is for you know who to come poking around."
"Yeah, fine. I'll wait..."

I think the reason I constitutionally could never go all the way crazy for eg donne is that people who do someone like donne have to be just donne people full time. my kind of person has like 5 scraggly secondary to minor poets that they are obsessed with and always trying to get people to read. I was talking to one of my committee members earlier today and she said something along the lines of how something I'm looking for might be found in turberville "...but I would never tell anyone to read turberville." like actually 2 months ago you did very much tell me to read turberville

Barnaby for the ask game
Hoo-hoo-hoo! Of course! :D
First impression: First impression was pretty much "Huh, this one looks funky!", I honestly liked Barnaby's design right away, but in that time Fanto was my current favorite, so I didn't focus on him a lot.
Impression now: PEAK CHARACTER!!! PERFECT DESIGN, PERFECT VOICE, PERFECT MIX OF SCARY, EVIL, ZANY, ADORABLE AND SAD! BARNABY IS THE CHARACTER EVER!!
Favorite moment: It's far too early to say, since BBU hasn't be released yet. But do check the livestreams, because his quips tend to be the funniest ones, especially when he banters with Fantoccio. Those two share a single braincell, and it's a riot! His song, "A Million Gruesome Ways to Die" is also a banger, and perfectly captures his murdery tendencies in the funniest way possible.
Idea for a story: Barnaby's backstory is still mostly shrouded in mystery. So anything that could explore his past is a golden opportunity: what was he going to accomplish with the experiment that doomed him? What was his history with his family? Did he have any friends? How is his past self playing a part in how he is now? So many questions, and the game is very likely going to answer them, but in the meantime there's so much to speculate!
Unpopular opinion: I kinda fear he'll become a Tumblr Sexyman when the game will come out. It's still too early to tell, but, let's be fair, he's got all the elements, and I'm both amused and in fear of that... XD
Favorite relationship: Again, listen to the livestreams, and how well Barnaby and Fantoccio play off each other. One is crazy goofy, the other is quick tempered and loves the spotlight. Comedy gold!
Favorite headcanon: He can totally mimic other people's voices. Because he's so chaotic, he can do anything!

These days, it's difficult to find a new release by a major cosmetics company that isn't eye roll inducing. Whoever is keeping Barnabé Fillion employed at Aesop deserves some kind of industry award because this Othertopias line is proving to be delightfully, consistently, non commercial.
The latest Othertopia release, Gloam, is an achingly tactile and evocative mimosa. Like others in this line, it's distinct and captures the complexity one can only find in natural ingredients. Unlike the others, it's comforting, nostalgic and more inviting.
The scent opens with a strong herbaceous, anise note. As the scent warms up, this edges into cumin but there is that anise edge to it that keeps it out of curry dishes and unwashed bodies territory. The mimosa emerges quickly and is the centrepiece of this scent. Its floral character is accented by sun-warmed hay, a touch of firm blonde leather, more than a hint of lacy knickers. This is further enhanced by the suggestion of iris, giving the faintest suggestion of powder, but the mimosa-iris pairing also gives Gloam a soft skin and flesh character. This softness is countered by a fairly assertive and tactile spiciness, but rather than the typical gourmand melange of pepper, cardamom and cinnamon, there is a dark and intimate, aquatic, almost amniotic character that is also prominent in Karst and Miraceti. It's not your typical "barnyard" though I've read a lot of people describing it this way.
The spice doesn't really disappear in the dry down. Rather, it melds into the florals. The initial contrast and eventual blending leaves you with a scent that feels very alive and real, very human. It's both novel yet deeply familiar, grounded yet dreamy. It's sensual without being sexy. Highly recommended.

The Saint: The King of the Beggars (2.9, ITC, 1963)
"Anyway, what are you grumbling about, you're being paid."
"Paid? And what about my overheads? You have no idea how much petrol I use, looking for these clothes for you!"
"Must have done an awful lot of looking, since the suit has your name in it."
"Yes. Well, um, it belonged to my uncle, eh? Marco Di Cesari the First. I, um, bought the suit from him for, um...quindicimila lire?"
"Fifteen thousand lire, oh brother, does your uncle have a sense of humour!"
"Well, I let you have it for, uh, ten thousand lire, eh? Five?"
"Two."
"Two? I don't know why I bother with all this!"

Episode 2 - Watching Midnight
"Robbie, you need take care of this," Victoria said, fresh blood spilled and dripping from her lips. "The town speaks, you know? They think-"
"They think it's some maniac killer behind the recent murder and as far as I know, it is," he said with complete confidence.
Victoria Barnabe couldn't be so sure. She had seen the pictures. The body ripped to shreds seemed more like the work of some rabid vampire. That was most likely but she always thought Robbie more responsible than that. It was why she put him in charge of this region.
"It's none of mines, I'll have you know," Robbie clarified, answering her next question before she could ask it. "Mines do not even leave the club. They feast on campers but mostly homeless. I have strict rules on that. If its a camper they live, the homeless? Who cares," he said shrugging away whatever concern she might have.
"Then who?" Victoria asked the million simoleon question. Robbie assured her they were not his doing. His style was far simpler than that. He'd watch a woman, lure her away into his domain, turn her, and entrap her. Killing people and chopping them into several different pieces simply was not his style. "I should remind you, Robbie, the council-"
"The council, Victoria? The council or you?"
