Mughal Road Accident: Permit of ill Fated Vehicle had expired in 2017, ‘fitness’ given 140 days ago

POONCH: In what could be termed as a major gaffe by traffic authorities and relevant law enforcement agencies, the vehicle that overturned Thursday resulting into the death of eleven students was without route permit since August 10, 2017. While an inquiry is going on, Tempo Traveller bearing Registration number JK12-3475 had been plying without 'valid route permit'. “Not only the vehicle was without 'valid route permit' for more than two years now but ironically had a fitness certificate issued on its registration number- which otherwise is issued only once route permit is granted,” sources said. Interestingly, as per on line record of the State Transport authorities, the permit of this old tempo traveller bearing registration number JK12-3475, expired in August 2017. The Regional Transport authorities Jammu had issued fitness certificate in favour of the vehicle 140 days ago, which totally exposes the sorry state of affairs in the State Transport Department. Moreover, this vehicle having capacity of 11 passengers and one driver, was carrying 18 persons. A team member that visited the accident spot also expressed dissatisfaction over the issuance of the 'fitness certificate' after gauging the overall condition of the vehicle. “A fitness certificate issued 140 days ago was found near the vehicle. The conduction of the vehicle was found such that it was unworthy to ply with its tyres worn out and condition of other parts was also found not upto standard,” officials privy to the investigation said. However, when contacted ARTO Poonch Samrinder Singh Jamwal denied issuance of any certificate' to the owner. While divulging the process to obtain the certificate, the official told GNS that "Once the route permit expires for any particular vehicle, the owner had to apply for renewal of the same within a period of 15 days. “There is nothing on record to show how and when the vehicle obtained the certificate." Reiterating his stance the official said that "although the procedure has been switched from manual to online but our records show nothing how the certificate was obtained." Meanwhile aghast over the disclosure of facts, the locals have demanded a thorough enquiry into the matter. "We demand a thorough probe”, the locals said and demanded that all those involved into it should be brought to justice." Pertinent to mention here that a vehicle (tempo traveller) carrying students of a private computer learning centre travelling from Surankote to Dhobijan met an accident near Pir Ki Gali along the Mughal Road on Thursday which resulted in the death of 11 students, 9 of them girls, and injuries to 7 others of which two are still battling for life. The deceased were identified as Nayeema Jan- 25 yrs, daughter of Riyaz Ahmad of Faisalabad; Tabassum- 23, daughter of Mohammad Rafiq of Faisalabad; Shereena Fatima- 24, daughter of Zaman Ahmad of Lathoon; Suhail Ahmad- 20, son of Zubair Ahmad of Gunthal; Irfana Kouser- 23 of Darbah; Humaira Kazmi- 25 of Dundak; Rehmat Bi- 23 of Dundak, Jameel Ahmad- 24 of Mandil, Najma- 20 of Lassana; Shabnum- 22, daughter of Hidayat Ahmad of Gunthal and Rabia- 20, daughter of Mukhtar Ahmad hailing from Gunthal village in Surankote. The dead bodies were handed over to the next of the kin after performing medico- legal formalities by team of doctors and police. The injured include six students and driver of the vehicle. The driver has been identified as Jameel Ahmad- 21, son of Abdul Rehim of Surankote. The injured students were, Aliya- 20, daughter of Mohammad Iqbal of Surankote; Tabassum-21, daughter of Bashir Ahmad from Surankote, Sonya- 22, daughter of Mohammad Rafiq of Faisalabad; Tazeem Akhtar- 25, daughter of Abdul Rashid; Mehrun Nisa- 20 and Afsana Javed- 24. All the injured were referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar from Shopian where condition of two of them was stated to be critical. Read the full article

Hello! I'm back again! 04/29/2022

On this head sketch series, is one of those NPCs you shouldn't often missed besides NIDA. FFVIII's Xu.

Her role on my fanfic verse almost stays the same, except here.. she is now Professor Xavier's head assistant on the merge Balamb Garden and Charles Xavier Institute ~ name to be announce...!

She'll appear alongside Dr. Hamilton on my early Battle Rehime chapter.
