#btw i was using sentinel as a catch all term for beacons (angels) #The two factions are beacons and omens(?) not too sure #i want a more mechanical sounding word but if i dont find one theyll be omens still i guess #sentinels now are beacons that are sent down to earth undercover to study and keep watch of humans #beni and wyatt are both sentinels #not sure if i uploaded my wyatt drawing #just realized something im gonna have to think about #religious mention #so the souls if most everyone that dies are fed to the vessel (the thing passengers live on. both a place and a thing) and those souls just #cease to exist #though some are kept for studying purposes by the beacons #though beni can convince the beacons to keep some... but . she cant save them all #heartbreaking #that's why she initially decided to take down the passengers ... #the passengers are the general term for da beings #but i remember that the processors (beacon archivists) keep the memories and info abt every single dead person so maybe? beni can bring #people back? who knows #And by take down the passengers i mean both beacons and omens #yeah beacons like humans more than omens do... but they still largely see them as less valuable life forms than the passangers #for them its like. humans studying bugs. #and omens (generally) obv wouldn't care too much if humans all died... #they would just be mad that they have to find somewhere else to live now #and find a new life source #after theyd traveled so far to find it #lore #reapfreak

#masky says #again its called SELF indulgence for a reason #im simple i like blind characters who use their blindness to their advantage #ozpin wouldnt be able to rely on ozymandias or any other past lives for sight since they'd need to use HIS body's senses to detect anything #no one can see. its a new experience for almost ever life i'd imagine #but ozpin's grown up without his sight so he knows how to navigate the scary world #hes not totally blind. he can see...vague shapes. very vague. #but thats it. #long memory works as a normal cane and ur usual blind cane #hes memorized beacon's halls along with the usual rush of students and which way they'd come and go to classes so he doesnt get lost in the #-rush if hes ever goin from one place to another alone #glynda usually sticks by his side to act as his guide if hes goin somewhere super crowded #tho i mostly like it cause the vibe of ozpin bein one of those characters who keeps their eyes closed all the time is a VIBE #hes still a top huntsman. hes still the headmaster. hes still one of ozma's many lives #but hes blind. thats all that changes and it changes nothing and also everything #qrow acting as a seeing eye bird when ozpin asks for his help #sitting on his shoulder and cawing if oz nearly bumps into a wall or someone #i know its not real evidence but i do like ozpin memorizing the feel of qrow's facial features #the scruff of his beard the way his skin dips in places where scars linger #he likes touching people hes very touchy. its the best way he knows to see in his own personal way #he wouldnt notice ruby's silver eyes. he'd need to be told later. glynda probably mentions it making ozpin interested even further in her- #-progress and acceptance into his academy

I have the weirdest takes about Makoto's character and his relationship to the concept of hope, maybe I'll jot them all down and make a huge meta about it once I finish my replay.

#ooc ramblings. #it all boils down to: if you go at trying to understand Makoto solely as a hopeman understanding who he truly is becomes impossible #you have to recognize his great qualities but also call him normal. someone who could have come from anywhere. in the same breath #this goes for in-universe understanding as well I think #it broke my heart when Komaru referred to Makoto as 'real hope' which i mean. i get it. but looking at Makoto as if he's a beacon of hope #further isolates him and separates him from who he used to be #he came out of the mutual killing bereft of so much. he was robbed so thoroughly that even his past was stolen from him #and even if he got his memories back eventually I find it hard to believe it just slot back into his head like a missing piece of a puzzle #since he was experiencing the mutual killing without those memories... like it was the first thing that happened after he stepped #through those doors #anyway i have adhd and i need to organize my thoughts lol

As a younger child, I used to wish for a situation where I’d be in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of people I wanted to know, I hoped that it’d be some sort of confusing experience so no one would know how to get home just yet, they’d have to get to know me first before leaving wherever the middle of nowhere was.

(Strange wish but back then that was my solution to getting to know people when I felt too anxious)

Although I’ve grown with a fear of my appearance, I’m glad I’ve found my appreciation of my individuality and similarities to people.

I wanted to make this post to appreciate a camp memory, camp has never failed in making life feel like a dream for me.

Just a walk felt like the most beautiful thing to me that day, there were multiple activities going on at all different far journeys of the field. Swimming/Boat riding, Deer skinning, Fire making

I was curious to see what the deer looked like after death, Daniel told me that the reason it was brought for us to see (if wanted), was to be aware of what we eat since it’s quite avoided in everday life. I got the chance to stroke the deer, thank you it felt like.

A boy who was supposed to be in my age group but put in the one below because of the slight earlier school year was at this activity.

We started a bit of small talk and then he asked exactly what I was thinking, “do you want to see the other activity near the other site”,

It was fairly sunny for the while, we walked through a bunch of long grass and talked.

I usually get a bit unsettled when talking with people, well it depends on the person

But talking didn’t feel like talking, it just felt right, I wasn’t even thinking about it like I always did.

The conversation was a way of bringing back memories of days I had forgotten temporarily too.

We talked so much and ended up going the wrong way after all that walking, I slightly remembered the way to the right site though so we headed there and got hungry on the way,

We found where a lot of the cars were parked and by them was like 30 packets of white bread, he opened them and asked me if I wanted one, I was criticising just eating plain bread but on the way back I ended up eating a piece haha.

It was a bit pesky to carry so we left it in a bush with the perfect hole for it.

He mentioned a bunch of sports/activities he had done and I related, apart from boat paddling, maybe surfing he mentioned? I was really intrigued by the way he talked about all of it, sounded like he had some really good days on holiday.

I got a bit frightened whilst walking up a narrow rocky hill that the pathfinders (older group) previously used for nightgames (sort of camp halloween), then we both heard a big bang so we walked towards it and we found the swimming activity. Someone tried building a fire on rock so it exploded, never knew that to happen until then.

There was a small boat ride and I wanted to go on it so much, we both got on and he paddled. We were in a small lake and it started to pour rain but it was rather beautiful how the rains drops hit the water we were on.

After that we got off and walked back, talking about the food we like.

Parted ways after watching people make dream catchers, I really liked that part of the day.

For the last part, the staff had asked if what our magic moment of the day was, I really wanted to mention the walk with him but I thought it would be strange so I said the double rainbow.. Liar!

He came to our group fire on the last day and the camp staff asked us once again what our magic moment was for any day of camp, this time I vaguely said the boat ride and he mentioned it too :) That little comment made me feel happy, I was happy to share that walk with him.

The pictures are a bit of a reminder of what the walk looked like to me.

Just occurred to me to wonder whether Penny actually needs fresh Aura from Pietro or anyone else if they’re going to use the Aura transfer to machine to get the bit of her soul that she gave to Winter. Part of me feels like that could be sufficient and part of me feels like she’d be too weak and might need a boost.

Ok this is getting a bit into speculation territory here, but my interpretation of how Penny's aura works is that when Pietro first built her, he gave a piece of his aura, that was able to then grow over time until it was enough to constitute an entire person's aura, giving us Penny. Then, any time he had to rebuild her, he would recover her aura/soul itself from her core where it was stored, and then his additional aura donation would be used as sort of a 'bridge' between Penny's aura and the new body, allowing her to take root.

By that interpretation, even if we're recovering Penny's aura from Winter, there would still likely need to be an additional aura transfer from someone in order to act as that bridge.

Again, none of this is really based on anything in canon and is really just my interpretation, but it's just the only way that makes sense to me that Pietro would be able to recover Penny from her core and still have her actually be Penny, and not some other person who just has her memories.

#this is why I've never been a fan of the assumption that Penny's core just holds her memories #because if that was all that was preserved post-Beacon then V7 Penny wouldn't actually be Penny herself #and that very clearly isn't what they were trying to portray with her story. #asks #custom cards #amazingly there's only 1 monored instant that gives reach: Academic Dispute #plenty of green reach instants but a sore lack of red ones #this is a straight upgrade over Sure Strike but that's fine because Furious Bellow is too #a slight upgrade #also i'm really satisfied with Geist of Gifts #i feel like all it needs is an uncommon stamp and it'd fit right into Crimson Vow #cost reduction and scaling buffs are dangerous so i made sure to balance the p/t and cost appropriately #and 3 mana feels perfect #you can play it early to start playing good auras or you can play it late to help cast disturb cards #also as usual i had to make sure i got the templating right on Gift of Memories #it counts the total number of 2 different kinds of card in 2 different locations #how in the world is that written? #do you use and or or or and/or between the different kinds of cards? and what about between the different locations? #luckily Beacon Bolt exists so it was an easy copy-paste #ALSO Magic Set Editor (the card creator i use) sometimes ends up putting rules text or flavor text behind the power/toughness box #it's been an issue a few times but i finally figured out how to fix it #normally the font size is automatically as large as possible and shrinks to fit in the text box #but it doesn't consider the p/t box so it ends up making it too big #but i found where i can set the font size manually! #so Geist of Gifts uses a font size of 13.3! perfect! #AND you set the front and back separately so Gift of Memories is just set automatically
