Save Our Souls - A Lawlight Fanfiction

So, I prefer putting up Wattpad’s because they have pretty pictures and extra editing, but since this is a series it won’t be posted on Wattpad until it’s done.

I am choosing to deviate from this for the first chapter for two reasons:

1. I am wondering if anyone would volunteer as tribute to be a BETA READER?! I constantly swim in self-doubt so I figure it would be fun to ask.

2. I have already shared some excerpts on here (Play From the Heart, for example, is additional back story to this one). It only made sense to at least have one post with the actual story before the months it takes before it comes to a close.

Mature rating, has the possibility of possibly turning explicit. The drafts are inconclusive.

Summary: Light found (M/n) going on a rut and prefer for Light to stay away from him but Light did otherwise.

It was strange for Light that he didn't see you and it seemed like a few other students says that they haven't seen you too. Though what makes Light clicked was the fact that it was only the omegas in the school that didn't see you but the other do, though Light himself never told (M/n) he was in fact an omega but maybe you were clever than he thought you ever being able to spot that he was in fact an omega hiding as a beta.

The more he think about it the more he knew what is going on.

You were in a rut.

Now he always knew you were an alpha and Light always thought all alphas were assholes and only care for themselves but he knew there's some that are not like that and you're one of them. He only knew you were slightly different with how you acted towards them and always distancing with a bunch of Omega's, including him of course. But he never tell you that he is an omega, you never knew but is your instinct that strong?

He couldn't put a point but that's not time for it. You're on a rut and you didn't answer a few text from him.

Light decided to go to your house even though his instincts tell him not to. He was at your front door and began to knock but he noticed that your door was opened the more he knock which means you didn't lock it, maybe you can't handle it. He can understand that rut might be really hard to handle especially when alphas are around omegas, wanting to find a mate to get with in resulting an unplanned pregnancy for the omega. Light was nervous of course as he went inside and your scent was all over the house making it hard for him to breathe and he had to cover his nose so the scent doesn't really get into him as he made his way to find you with blankets covering yourself but with a fan turned on and cooling down your face that is covered with sweats.

(M/n) seems to noticed Light as his eyes widened slightly and backed away immediately with sweats covering all of his body.

-"Light."

(M/n) demanded as a sign of warning for Light to stay away from him but Light got more closer.

-"What do you think you're doing?"

-"Don't worry. I'm just here to help."

-"No no, I refuse. I'm sorry, Light."

-"Why won't you let me help you?"

-"Because.."

-"Because you're an omega."

-"Then pretend I'm not one!"

(M/n) shook his head as he slide down his blanket but he still kept the fan turned on and wiping his face before facing Light again. (M/n) didn't seemed to have the energy to speak as he tried to control himself from loosing control over himself. And Light took it as a sign to find suppressants for (M/n) though it didn't took long for Light to find it in (M/n) kitchen, as fast Light could. He went back to where the male was and give the suppressants; even though (M/n) seemed skeptical but he took it graciously and Light leave him alone for a moment.

Light though he might need to make something to cool (M/n) rut down and not just rely on suppressants making the male overdose. Though he wasn't really a great cooker but he could learn a few cookings from helping his mother, it made Light's heart flutter knowing he is right now caring for an alpha that weren't his mate yet but the thought when he and (M/n) could actually be mates just makes him felt his cheeks goes red and warm. He hates the thought of this, why is he feeling stuff like this? This wasn't common for him, sure he always believed one day he can experience what other people called love but he wasn't even ready yet!

As Light began to whine quietly about his delusional feelings towards an alpha that wasn't his mate yet, he felt something was pulling at the end of his shirt and the feeling made him jolted. He turn around to see (M/n) looking down and pulling his shirt like a little kid making Light's heart flutter, it made him wanted to take care of the poor male. He could see how (M/n) was pulling himself from trying to do anything worse as Light just sighed and smiled.. Wait? He was smiling? Was it because of his instincts of wanting to take care of the male? Was it genuine? He just.. What are you doing to me, (M/n)?

Light turned his body around to grab (M/n) hand and squeeze it as he tried to make the male look at him but (M/n) just kept his gaze to the floor.

-"Are you okay?"

-"M'need you."

-"Need me?"

-"No, I'm sorry. It's just."

Light just stays silent as he began to hug (M/n) even though he knew he shouldn't do it but the male just looked very tortured by his rut that he even hugged Light back and wrapping his arms around Light's waist while holding him tightly. (M/n) never was this affectionate before and the fact he was showing this side of him to Light just made Light blush like crazy but he couldn't show it to (M/n). Light pulled away from the hug and told (M/n) to go back as the male let out a disappointment sighed before he goes back and accepted defeats even though he was holding his other hand from trying to hold Light again.

One thing made him think, didn't (M/n) ever dated an omega before? If he was correct. Then is this what they see when (M/n) was in a rut? Or did they never cared for the male? Or is it.. Just cut it out.

Whatever it is, it was his turn now to experience it and he just couldn't shake the feeling how (M/n) didn't underestimate him to take care of the male and managed to hold himself. Normally alphas who were in a rut would be more aggressive and tried to find a mate when they don't have it yet but (M/n) was different from those alphas who only care for their own pleasure, he was.. Just gentle.

He wonders if in the future.. Maybe (M/n) could he his mate? He couldn't wait to see where it's going. He wanted (M/n) to be the first one to get to him first if this was the case Though he is still gonna be alert since it doesn't make (M/n) any different that he is different, he still an alpha.

But he wonders..

I kinda like Trucy with shorter hair. The patterned shorts make for a great casual outfit and the motif of card symbols is soooo good!

Very cute design but it wouldn’t suit Trucy at all.

The far left one is cute but the other two remind me of one of my sisters so I don’t like them.

You'd think this would come from Kristoph's beta designs but noPe. Makes you wonder who came first in development, was there initally just Klavier and then the idea of a brother came to Capcom within his development? Or was Kristoph first and Capcom initially want Klavier to resemble his brother more? Anyway, I would've loved one of these designs to be used for Kristoph, even in just a flashback or something.

There's not a lot of notable beta designs I found for Kristoph but this doodle is cute. Maybe he wore this during his 7 year period with Phoenix.

I'd expect the design on the left to be for Klavier out of the context. The design on the right reminds me of Jim from The Office.

Interesting to see her wearing nail polish in the right design, makes more sense as to why Kristoph would give her nail polish as a gift. Teenagers tend to fantasise online about him, and what he looked like under the predominantly blue mask. Light couldn’t care.

In his opinion, the guy was too merciful. He has this ‘no murder’ policy and lets the national authorities deal with the criminal as they see fit. Why? Most of them don’t deserve to live given the atrocities they commit on the regular. Besides, a good chunk breaks out of prison to wreak havoc again.

But what can Light Yagami, a college student with no powers of his own, do about it?

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

I think 16

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

535,969. Most of that is from my longest fic tbh.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

I actively write for BHNA and FMA. I also have a crossover with Death Note, and have written for Les Mis (crossover) and Naruto too. When I was younger I wrote a fic for Undertale and a couple for Avengers which I've now orphaned since I know I won't be continuing with those fandoms or fics.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Eraserhead - 8153 (BNHA fic)

the tin can man - 3124 (BNHA and FMA crossover/fusion fic)

not the first time (but hopefully the last) - 985 (BNHA fic)

When The Rain Falls - 834 (FMAB fic)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do my best to within a couple of days on my actively updating long fic. I try to respond on my other fics too but because those fics aren't at the forefront of my mind sometimes it takes me until the next update to get around to responding.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I would say not the first time (but hopefully the last) since even though the ending is sort of hopeful, it's definitely still angsty.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably Eraserhead? It's a crack fic but like All For One retires to become a botanist by the end so I'd say that's a plus.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I actually have done before. When I was eleven on ff.net I wrote a twilight fic and decided that speech marks were too much effort to bother with. Definitely regretted that choice and received some pretty cruel feedback for it. Eleven year old me definitely learned a lesson that day.

Since then I've not really gotten hate hate, but there have definitely been a few comments that have been a little negative about my choice of plot device or something like that which is okay. It's not something I take to heart (and sometimes the advice is good.)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I've never written smut and tbh I probably never will because I find romantic relationships the hardest to write!

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I write quite a lot of crossovers. In terms of craziest it would have to be the tin can man because that's just become a thing unto it's own.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Same as above!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Never! I'd like to say I'd be open to the idea but tbh I'd probably have a lot of trouble sticking with it as my schedule is all over the place.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

I think Erasermic just for the comfort.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

When The Rain Falls. I've got so many other projects going on its just fully on the back burner at this point. I would like to finish it so I might just devote a month to writing solely that and get it to some sort of conclusion, but we'll see.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I would probably say characterisation and plotting/world building. I do think my dialogue can be quite good but it depends how invested in the scene I am. I'm definitely better at writing angst than regular conversation.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I don't have a beta reader and I have a tendency to skim read so I know I post chapters with mistakes even after combing through them. Plus I'm impatient, so it'll be little things like words missed out of a sentence that my brain has automatically filled in, in my rush to get it published! I think also I make my sentences too wordy and quite often can't seem to find the right structure. Like I know what I want to say but I can't get it onto the page in the right order.

Also I think my plots can become a bit too unwieldy meaning I have to work very hard to keep up with all my odds and ends of character arcs and plot devices etc. which is also fun!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I personally wouldn't as I don't want to make a fic less accessible and I don't trust myself to get it right. French is the only other language I have enough understanding in that I probably could muddle my way through finding the correct grammar etc but I don't want my readers having to break out google translate for my fics.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

That would have to be Twilight when I was eleven.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

the tin can man - a BNHA and FMA crossover. It's everything to me and I've put so much of myself into it. I know I'm going to finish it, even though it is a huge project. I have adhd and anxiety and so projects for me are difficult and even just finishing it would be amazing so I can prove to myself that I can do it!
