Top 5 Brittana headcanons

1.) They were childhood friends who knew each other since they were maybe six or maybe even younger and they were instant best friends. They were just always kind of each other’s “person.” Yes, I’m going to ignore canon.

2.) Their first kiss and first time were both with each other. The first time they had sex happened in their mid teens in Brittany’s bed and it just sort of happened then they kept sleeping with each other after that. That’s partially why Santana was so reticent when the other girls were talking about their first times because she wouldn’t talk about something so important and private for her with other people like that. Brittany wasn’t lying when she talked about the “alien invasion” because that was her first time with a guy but Santana was her first time with anyone at all.

3.) Brittany is the one who is more open to having children after they’re married. She is the one who brings it up first and she is more relaxed about it while Santana is much more cautious and nervous for many reasons even though she wants it too very much.

4.) They do end up having a lot of kids and they both love it. I’m going to agree with all of HeYa’s headcanons and say they have a big family with at least three children and it’s a little chaotic but they have a very happy family life.

5.) They “make love” for the first time during summer after season 2 after being distant from each other for a long time after the Artie situation in season 2. It’s the first time Santana acknowledges that it means something intimate instead of just meaningless sex and looks into her eyes and lets herself be completely vulnerable. It’s like a re-do of their first time, or at least that’s what Santana tries to make it into and she worries about it not being romantic enough but then Brittany calms her down and everything ends up being perfect.

Any headcanons for Brittana as moms?

I've been meaning to answer this for a WHILE, i'm so sorry. But yes!!! This is one of my most thought out head canons because the thought of them being parents makes me weak. It's less about them having children, more about the dynamic of them as a family that warms my heart. I just see them being a really strong family unit where there's love at all angles. i.e. their kids grow up knowing love because their parents are so unashamedly in love, to the point where the kids get embarrassed.

ANYWAY...

An insight into what goes on in my head...Santana would attempt to be bad cop and be the stricter of the two of them, but at the same time their kids would have her wrapped around their fingers in the same sense Brittany does. Like she tries to be cross with them, but she gives in easily at the same time because they know how to work her. Like just imagine Santana with a little girl who was a carbon copy of Brittany? Double whipped. I actually see them having two girls and being this strong girl gang, Brittany carrying the first child, Santana carrying the second one. Even though her kids can get around her, that doesn't stop Santana having boundaries that her kids know they need not to cross. I feel like she'd be the type of parent to research and overanalyse everything. If studies show that iPads are bad for kids, then her kid isn't getting an iPad etc. She's quite an anxious personality and she overthinks a lot, so I feel like that would manifest into her parenting in the way she'd always be worrying she'd screw them up in some way and she'd want reassurance to know they were doing things right. This would be something Brittany would really have to calm her on and assure her that they were doing just great, that their kids were perfect and more importantly they were loved etc. I feel like Santana would also worry a lot that she wouldn't want her children turning out like her and being insecure or defensive or scared to open up, and again Brittany would have to talk with her and remind her that their kids turning out like her wouldn't be a bad thing at all, because she's writing off all her good qualities. She's very vocal in her love in canon (she's always telling Brittany how much she loves her), and she'd be the same with their kids. She tells them she loves them several times a day because it's really important to her that they know. She'd also be super protective, and no one, I repeat no one, would hurt or mess with her children. You think you've met Snix? Just wait until you meet the version who comes out when someone wrongs her children.

In true Brittana yin/yang, Brittany would be good cop. She'd be a lot more laid back as a parent, really liberal. She wants them to have boundaries and she respects Santana's protectiveness that manifests in her strictness, but she also thinks their kids should be free to make their own mistakes because that's how they'll learn and grow. She's a big believer in letting their kids just be who they want to be, and of course Santana is the same way. She's the fun parent, and she's always fooling around with them getting ready for school etc. She makes pancakes and when Santana's back turns gives them extra whipped cream. She's the one the kids go to when they fall and hurt themselves. She's also the one the kids go to when they think Santana is being too mean, and Brittany is really understanding, but she also always has Santana's back and would never go against a decision she makes without speaking to her. She also has this hidden protectiveness in her that only comes out with Santana and their kids (which we see in canon with Santana). When their kids are upset about something, she's really good at rationalising everything and putting things into perspective for them, and pulling examples and explaining things in a way that's child-friendly and appropriate for them.

The most important dynamic in their family? Love. They're the type of parents that can't stand to see their kids get sick (Santana gets sympathy sickness every time one of them has so much as a cold). The type of parents that keep every single little thing their kids make for them, and the type of parents that are really big on having open communication (because they know first-hand the damage holding things inside does), so they always make sure no matter how busy they are that they eat dinner as a family and talk with no interruptions (just like Brittany and Santana always made time for their Friday date nights). The type of parents that cry at every school play and every proud moment (like Brittany does when Santana sings and Santana does when Brittany dances), then they both laugh at each other when they notice they're both crying. The kids would go through a clingy stage of ending up in their bed in the middle of the night, something that Santana pretends to rolls her eyes at, because duh, she just wants to cuddle her wife and be alone. But really, she loves it and adores their family time. Her whining just means that Brittany will make the effort to take them away somewhere so they get some real alone time. They'd probably have the kids in their early 30s, and they'd realise one night with their kids wedged in the middle of the bed, that the life they once had in their 20s where they travelled and lived and had fun and lived the high life in New York, was suddenly so different, but they wouldn't have it any other way.

Santana is more protective overall. I'd say Santana is the one who needs to be protected more... not that Britt isn't doing her job, but out of the two, Santana tends to put herself into situations where she's likely to get hurt way more often than Britt would.

10. Describe their first date.

They'd have dinner at Breadstix. They'd have a lot of breadsticks and maybe a little food leftover that they bring with them after Breadstix. They'd probably walk home together, taking the long scenic route. Then they'd go to Brittany's house and sit on a blanket in the backyard and eat their Breadstix food while they watch the stars. Then they'd both sleepover at Brittany's. Ofc there wouldn't be much sleep happening. Britt would be all over Santana kissing her and making out, then Santana would have to pay her back and she'd make things more intense. And they would end up making love.

21. Who would get into a fight to defend the other's honor? Who tends to the other's wounds?

Santana would get into the fight and Britt would tend her wounds.

25. Do they have any hobbies they share?

Yes, a lot of them. Out of all the couples, Brittana have the most hobbies in common. They both like dancing, competitions, they like working out together, they like shopping together, etc. They basically spent so much time together that one's hobbies became the other one's hobbies too.

What meal could you see each individual in Finchel, Brittana or Tike cooking for the other (could be for their anniversary/just a special date night or whatever)?

I'm just gonna do these for what they'd usually cook for the other. Like for random occasions.

Finchel:

Finn would cook his favorite childhood meals for Rachel, which are basically homecooked junk food. He makes her grilled cheese sandwiches the most, bologna sandwiches (which Rachel is wary to try and I know Rachel says she's vegetarian, but she ate pepperoni pizza in S1 and that was without Finn forgetting she's vegetarian), pb&j (and a lot of variations of it), microwave mac and cheese, etc.

Rachel cooks kinda "fancy" or upscale meals for Finn. She always uses the best cuts of meat, the best ingredients, etc. She's very specific about quality and presentation. Finn is a picky eater (out of the two, as in he won't eat food that he never heard about or food that's said to be "too healthy"). She makes him stews and kind of upscaled version of comfort foods. She also makes a lot of Italian dishes for him because Italian food is basically upscale comfort food, so it automatically checks both those boxes. She bakes a lot for him, especially banana bread and cookies.

Brittana

Britt cooks very sugary food for Santana. She's a dessert for every meal type person. Especially when it comes to breakfast. She makes chocolate chip pancakes for Santana, with way too many chocolate chips in them. She also makes her different variations of pb&nutella sandwiches, milkshakes, and smoothies.

Santana hates cooking, she doesn't cook, but she will make an exception for Britt. She mainly cooks for Britt for very special occasions or when Brittany is sick. When Britt is sick, Santana would make her soups. Santana's dishes always turn out way too spicy, but Britt likes them that way. She usually opts to bake stuff rather than fry it or whatever other method. So for special occasions, she usually makes some sort of roasts with vegetables. She's a big fan of putting stuff in an oven and not touching it until the timer goes off. The lower the effort, the better.

Tike

Mike likes to cook traditional food that his mom used to make for him, for Tina. He's a big fan of spam (Tina isn't) so he always includes that in his recipes. He likes to make rice bowls with some sort of stir fried meat or just fried spam for her.

Tina likes baking for Mike. She makes everything from pastries to brownies (idk what scale this is, but yeah it includes all the baked goods, trust me). She was wary about cooking actual food for him at first because she didn't want to seem to desperate to be his wife or anything of that sort. Plus she's a strong believer in Mike buying her dinner. She would occasionally make him soups when he's sick or dumplings. She's also less traditional in cooking than he is, but whenever she cooks for him, she usually makes whatever Mike would like, so she tends to just copy his recipes or his mom's recipes. Other than that, she cooks steaks for him on special occasions, with all sorts of fancy sides, like lobsters or some extravagant style of cooking vegetables. Tina is a really good cook in general and she loves making fancy meals that she can brag about.
