They're elves of the shadowfell, normal human height. They specialize in teleportation and invisibility, with the casters among them throwing in confusion and fear and illusion. Be careful though, as any trained in combat start making non-elves slower and worse while within 10 feet. From depression, from the sound of it. Their angst about being more ancient and timeless than you wordlessly attaches to you like a parasite, slowing you down. Good for if you enjoy concepts like-

Job: previously a Paladin of the Order of the Five Stars, but now an oathbreaker working as an independent contractor (sellsword and bounty hunter)

Phobias: basophobia (fear of falling)

Guilty Pleasures: alcohol. She's an emotional drinker, though she doesn't feel guilty about it. She also loves sex, specifically when it's a little rough, and pretty shameless about it (except if her father is in the room. Him calling out her promiscuity is a trigger.)

Alignment: it's complicated. Idril would have said she was lawful good, though didn't know at first that she was being led by a lawful evil cult leader. Morwen is pretty neutral good, though a bit chaotic at times.

Sins: if we're going by the seven, I'd say lust would be one, she has a weakness for a pretty face and flattering words. Of all her sins it's the one she finds hard to control herself with (as soon as there's consent of course). Also wrath, but that's sort of part of the job tbh.

Virtues: as a paladin she was taught to embody the virtues of her Order: Justice, Strength, Faith, Duty, Honour. But now she would revise that to Justice, Honour, Compassion, Mercy, Wisdom, and Acumen. She now highly values critical thinking.

Mutuals Mutuals Come one COME ALL!!!

Put your various sona's and appendages together for the unveiling of a lil' something I've been working on while being distracted from animating Dame Aylin's wings (Its long, hard, fun as all hell but the concentration required to do so seems physically impossible for a beast of my genus)

I drew all my moots tavs/pseudo-companions!!! It took a bit, but it was well worth it! Everyone's design is so unique and fun to figure out. (10 is a big number of moots)((which I am very grateful to have :3)) So without Further Ado!!! (there will be so much more Ado):

(page break cuz the images are 400x400 each but 10 times, I also go on for a bit about how much I like each Tav/pseudo-companion character) ((if anyone can give me tips on how to size pieces in a normal style digitally i'd be very grateful))

First of all is Sivvus the Fey Prince (he/him)! This elusive Eladrin Tav belongs to @thedomesticanthropologist! A gorgeous yet seemingly cold-hearted druid who tends to keep his cards close to his chest. Though if you want the challenge you can see for yourself if you can try and get close to him to see if Sivvus is as closed off as he seems to be. To be quite honest, Sivvus really grew on me. A very fancy Eladrin with a high society (fey society) upbringing ( with very good looking mood boards to match) and the like only for him to be thrust into the bg3 world with a worm to boot. He is charming! Also his backstory? <3 Defienetly go read it! 10/10 would draw the snob again :)

Second off we have Gum (He/They)! A Githyanki Cleric of Mystra. Being @piipaw's Tav you'd find this charming fruit lover trying to live a peaceful life after escaping from the creche that raised them. I like Gum a lot as the concept of a githyanki trying to find their own way in Faerun while also having no idea about any of the social customs is very gripping to me. I recommend greatly to check out the blog for Gum fics, fanart and a very cool moot . :)

Next is H'rayn of Verkos (she/her)! Now different from all the character's I drew, H'rayn is not a Tav! She's actually a pseudo-companion character with a lotta lore and history! She even has her own quest, party banter, approval and disapproval things. It's the whole deal!! @githkisser made an amazing post all about H'rayn . If you want a ton of indepth and fun info that's really really well documented, I cannot overstate how much you should it check out! I find myself going back to learn more about H'rayn as she really is as well thought out as in game companions! It's quite fun thinking up of ways tavs can interact with her and the art is mwah!!! very good indeed :3

4th! Tavern (Tav) the Bard! (they/them) This darling bard ran away from the circus.....from birth! Created by @avocado-writing, Tavern plays their way into your heart with their silly antics, warm heart and eldritch pocket dimension in their chest!

Tavern is a doll to doodle and I am amped to draw them even more in the future. The heterochromia and the inclusion of instruments does make them a fun challenge (i will draw instruments accuratley with these paws eventually). Go check them out!! :D

5th! Hvinidyr the Barbarian (he/him)! @star-bear-art (I just realised after all this we aren't actually mutuals. Which is funny since we kinda have the same name and theme with the bear thing XD) If you wanna see wonderous art of Hvinidyr as well as the other companions, go look right over here!

Winnie (Hvinidyr) has a lot of forms depending on the time period you wanna look at. The one I chose was the most recent with the large scar tissue all over the left (right? I'm horrible at directions, my paws don't make an L shape for me to tell). He was really fun to sketch out (and probably later colour in) and has a really unique design that I appreciate :)

6th Vierlin the Enchantment Wizard (and a lil' bit rouge)!!!(she/her) @sybaritick's Tav!!! Now!! This classic drow has a keen intrest in enchantment magic, teaching her crafts to nobles in Amn. After the whole tadpole fiasco, she also finds another use for her multitude of arcane skills. Most notabley depicted with a local wizard.

Now I won't get ahead of myself here but the fics that Sybaritick wrote about Vierlin are like....licking a warm pan of thickened maple syrup or a fancy meat meal with so much demi-glaze you're left smacking your lips for at least 20 mins after eating. Its indulgent. And I couldn't recommend it enough!! Read it!! (it took me a good 8 times to get the 'ie' part of Vierlin's name right, the letters look the same to me)

7th Fink the Spores Druid (they/them) belonging to @causticcontemplation! They're a pretty short Tav a 2.5ft and have a whole modern AU fic about them!!! You can read all about it here! (the pun name is amazing!)

I found it cool to use the fic to figure out how to colour them in, I ended up sending an anon ask instead and it helped great! Lovely Tav 10/10!

8th Korydass the Druid!! (She/her)!!! Conjured by @cfcreative, this seemingly non-emotive bronze dragonborn lights a spark in viewers as her tail and love for nature portrays otherwise. Art of Kory is many and also very good. Reading through her lore is fun watching her dynamics with the different origin characters change as she opens up to the party.

Now I do have slight bias, I like drawing Kory the most since her head shape is less humanoid. It's just so satifying, also her design is crazy awesome to work with so all around its great recommend I like her a lot :3

9th Asheera the Paladin (she/her) produced by @optiwashere.

To be quite honest I wouldn't even have a blog if it wasn't for Asheera's fics. They are EXCELLENT. If you want to go through a journey of a half orcs struggles, successes and gripping romance with Shadowheart, VAULT YOURSELF into Opti's A03 page and devour. You will have negative regrets about it just like I! Asheera is great I love her a lot I am the most normal about her.

10th Quin the Bard (he/him) composed by @quinthebard (who'd have known?)

This darling plucky bard is the star of an ongoing comic that is very dynamic and very gripping. (My fave panel is this one). Despite being 100, Quin still maintains his joyful and kind nature when traveling with the tadpole gang.

Definetly one of the most friendlies Tavs out of all the ones i've drawn. (he was also the first i drew out of all of these!) He's a delight!! Go check him out! Thanks to all my moots for giving permission, having such great characters and being such lovely moots! <3 <3 <3

Alright, let’s be clear, this is about how there is no non-Isu creator god in Assassin’s Creed… that we know of.

However…

If we take into consideration that, whenever someone talks about an omnipowerful god, they’re usually talking about the Judeo-Christian God, we do have an idea of which Isu this god is meant to represent in AC lore.

The Templars (historically made up of Christian knights and created by a Christian king) use the phrase “May the Father of Understanding Guide Us” a lot.

Now, the Father of Understanding we usually know is Tinia but the Capitoline Triad is more or less a title that get used frequently by the Isus, usually to talk about three specific Isu scientists that accomplished something great (and this gives the whole “Holy Trinity” a different connotation in AC Lore)

Another Capitoline Triad was in charge of Project Anthropos which created the humans. Among them is the Father of Understanding “Yaldabaoth”.

Now, you might be wondering: why are we picking Yaldabaoth and not the other two Isus?

Because all three of them are different names taken by the Demiurge, said to be the ‘god’ that created humanity but also limited their knowledge. (There’s the whole ‘Yaldabaoth is not the true god but a false god’ or ‘Yaldabaoth is the god of the old testament’ and other more ‘origins’ for Yaldabaoth so here, have a wiki link if you’d like to know more). Yaldabaoth is, in my experience, the most commonly used name among the three. Also, Father of Understanding of the Templars being Yaldabaoth would make more sense than picking the Sacred Voice or the Mother of Wisdom.

So, in the Lucifer (TV series) x AC crossover idea, I proposed Yaldabaoth as being a different Isu from the Judeo-Christian God to amp up the Isu drama but, for this one, we’ll just assume that Yaldabaoth is the basis of the Judeo-Christian God (because it’s a bit funny that the Templars would be ‘worshipping’ one called ‘false’)

Annnyywaaayy, your idea is there is a ‘hell’ and I think you don’t mean the whole Underworld-Elysium type of setup as the one in the Atlantis DLC of Odyssey.

I feel like the idea of ‘hell’ would work well to my idea of how Desmond is Zagreus’ Sage.

Not the premise itself but the idea of the Afterlife program:

What if the initial idea of the Afterlife is that humans were not meant to reproduce, that they were meant to die and then be revived in a younger body with all their memories intact, making it faster for them to return to work. Elysium houses the data of the exemplary slaves, the best of the crop. The others go to the other parts of the Afterlife (with Tartarus being the part where the data of the ‘defects’ go so they won’t be loaded again).

It was only a bit later that the Isus realized it takes too many resources to keep creating bodies based on human data (DNA) so the next batch of humans could reproduce.

Now, in this context, Tartarus would be the ‘hell’ and, what if, in this setup, the actions of both the Assassins and the Templars would count them as ‘defects’ because they certainly go against what the Isus think humans should be with their desire for free-will or total control (in the hands of humans, bah!).

And, you say eternal war?

Okay.

So I’m going to tip my hand here, those who read my fics last year would know last year, August had the highest fic post count mainly because:

A lot of shit went down in August in AC lore… mostly deaths. (Arno’s bday, Clay’s death, Juno’s death, Umar’s death, (most importantly) Altaïr’s death, etc)

My birthday is in August and I tend to do a Birthday special whenever I’m active which is really just “post more than usual on my birthday!”

I’m explaining this because I actually have an AC fic idea based on the premise of Xenoblade 3’s eternal war which I am hoping I would be able to write this August and this ask gives me the chance to talk about it. XD

So the idea was, there would be two main factions that kept on fighting one another, locked in an eternal war. Their entire life, all they know is that they’re meant to live for one year (yeah, not ten years, one year) then they will either die on the battlefield or they would be given the chance to meet their mentor and be ‘initiated’. But for them to live up to their final week, their cube must not be empty and the only way to fill it even just a little is by either killing enemy soldiers or letting the cube absorb important artifacts of their enemies. Both factions mainly used three-person cells but there are rumors of four-person spec ops teams.

So the plot was meant to start with a POV from Arno’s team which is composed of him, Evie, and Jacob. They get a mission to find some kind of artifact and they get sidetracked because they’re attacked by an enemy cell composed of Bayek, Eivor, and Kassandra who are presumably after the same artifact.

Their fight gets broken up by a comet-like thing crashing down near them and they assumed it’s the artifact they were after so they raced to get there first. When they get there, the artifact looked like… a pod?

Figures clad in robes and masks appeared all of a sudden with one of them stepping forward to say, “Do not be rash, father. It doesn’t have to end this way. Return what is rightfully ours and I will ensure that the Grand Masters’ punishment will be light.”

“I’m afraid I can’t do that.” A man’s voice comes out from underneath the pod and it opens to reveal some kind of small cockpit. A man with dirty blond hair stepped out of the pod together with what seemed to be some kind of coffin following him by floating behind him.

He touches the coffin just as the masked man says, “Father, don’t-!”

They hear a hissing sound as air leaves the coffin as it slowly opens, revealing a sleeping young man. The young man gasped awake and grabbed his right hand tightly, coughing painfully. The blond man turned to face him and asked, “Do you remember who you are? Desmond?”

“Who…” The man called Desmond stared at him for a moment before he said, “I know you…”

“My name is Edward Ken-”

Bang!

Desmond’s eyes widened as blood splattered on his face and Edward fell on him before sliding down.

The masked man lowered the pistol he had fired as he said, “I had hoped it did not come to this, father.”

Desmond’s eyes widened as he recognized the voice.

“Haytham?”

The duergar! As a refresher, duergar are surly and dour dwarves. About 4-5 ft (1.2-1.5 m) tall, they're distrustful but loyal and hardworking. alright so I mainly had this idea for reasons involving Grian and Scar at Toad Tower, but it got kinda complicated so I figured I'd just take an ask to lay out the idea

So you've said that not only Xisuma but also Grian is depowered currently l, but not why Grian is depowered. Most would consider being a Watcher inherent. You may already have ideas for why that is and it doesn't really play into this idea so that can be saved for later.

The idea goes as follows: Hermits that either have as divine level of power or derive power from a divine source have their powers limited to very basic abilities in Amphibia. These reasons vary from inability to comune with the patron to having them stripped.

However.

With the exception of admin access or Gem's reality hopping, the abilities can be strengthened by the gems.

Proximity to them, how many of the three are nearby, how much the power the gem wielder is currently drawing on, all effect how much the limitations are brought off a hermit.

Two stone wielders in close proximity may only at most be enough for certain hermits to manifest wings for a short period of gliding, while three gems in near proximity with a fully active synergy stack may mean a few of the stronger, winged hermits can help the girls in pushing the moon to make up for the hermit caused power creep that even the final gambit is probably going to be effected by. (Maybe the core took Tango's idea of blowing the moon off course with TNT and decided to run with it, making the thing crash faster, plus some defences amped by hermit tech)

I'm going to give my thoughts as I read through this again, but i'll say now that this is a fun concept & has got me thinking about when it would & wouldn't apply.

My thought with Grian being depowered was mostly due to the fact the implied full extent of Watcher powers - even if you see Grian as weaker for his physical presence - would be a bit of a story breaker. Same with X's admin access or whatever Scar/Cub has going with the Vex. These are things they need to have limited/restricted access to outside their control for the AU to not be over instantly.

The idea there's some divine power lockout on Amphibia & its "neighbouring" realities is interesting, & would track well as a blanket explanation that doesn't require a bespoke reason for each Hermit's abilities being on the fritz (with an exception in Gem's, which have an established reason for not working). Who knows, maybe its even a restriction put in place by the Guardian to stop the Core getting any ideas about gaining true divinity without having earned it.

It explains why any divine power or even very strong non-divine powers don't work well, & why - aside from Andrias just being a dick & giving him bad info to slow him down - X can't do admin things, as he needs the local god's permission & it isn't in the Guardian's best interests to pick up the phone right now.

The Calamity Gems, though...

They're a conduit to the Guardian's power. A sort of "spell focus", in D&D terms, via the same energy keeping things on lockdown. And through proximity to it, a gap in the restriction opens that lets certain Hermits do at least a little of their usual personal ability.

Its passive, though. The Hermits don't have the knowledge nor ability - with a few exceptions - to harness the gems, so its only when they or their power's in active use that the door opens a bit & something comes through.

As False doesn't appear to have divine abilities or magic powers - she has plenty of combat, survival & scientific skills, but divinity isn't something she can claim unless her Season 9 lore takes a dramatic turn - the first Hermit to notice this is Grian, who - whilst trying to help False & Anne combat a certain veggie monster at the start of Season 2, witnesses the beast crush the Plantar household, causing Anne to snap, her eyes flashing blue...

...at which point Grian - though only briefly - feels his incredibly dampened Watcher abilities flare within him. For a split second the awareness that brings staggers him, unexpected as it was, & rather than surveying widely he instinctively jumps to his connection with his sister. He gets enough incoherentness back down the line to know Pearl's not doing great, before his power fades again.

Not a lot, but once more Hermits are around while the stones are in use later... it starts to make a little more sense.

But as the gems are charged & over time Anne grows in strength - not to say anything of Marcy & Sasha - the gems' effects become obvious.

When Anne snaps again in True Colors, multiple Hermits feel enough power well up to aid her in combating Andrias - a good thing when he's otherwise developed countermeasures to a lot of the things he's seen them do - & things descend into chaos.

Throughout Season 3, its much the same on Earth, though as I lack a full list of Hermits present with Anne in that time its unclear for now what specifically goes down. Again not saying anything of the other two in the Calamity Trio, as how much power they touch before the finale's an undecided element.

Come The Hardest Thing, though... hoo boy, the Core's increased preparedness due to the Hermit snowball - definitely taking a page from Tango's book, to his horror - means they're going to need the three-gem sized hole in the lockout the trio's synergy provides.

And again not saying anything of what that hole allows Xisuma to do afterwards...

Exactly like we were witness to Max's final breaths. There has been a lot of emphasis on the fact that Max's heart had stopped beating for a minute, and the fact that she truly died because else, the fourth and final gate would never have opened. Max's final breaths are, in fact, paralleled to Eddie's; we are made to believe they died the exact same moment.

While the song playing in the background - When It's Cold I'd Like To Die, not Heroes - is the song that played when Hopper and Joyce found Will in the UD in season 1. Will, who has been dead for a few minutes until Hopper brought him back with CPR.

There have been a few characters which died on screen in ST: Bob, Alexei, Billy, Will, Max and Eddie. The difference between all of them is the extent of their injuries and how it was presented to us, because - and I can't stress this enough - the Duffers love their long, gruesome shots of mutilated bodies. Bob, Billy and Alexei each got one. The ones who didn't were Will and Max, while Eddie is somewhere in-between here because he didn't have that one fatal wound, he wasn't still being eaten by the monsters.

We don't know what happened with his body, but we do know that El and thus Vecna are able to resurrect a dead person within the first few minutes after their death.

And we have a time skip of two whole goddamn days.

Plus a whole assortment of symbolism linking Eddie to the D&D lore of Kas while we all know Vecna is the Mind Flayer so he's able to flay/possess people like an evil puppeteer - and we know two people, Will and Billy - who already managed to break free from his control and Will survived it.

When that video was posted yesterday, I broke down crying because it was so wrong, it felt like a very sick joke on the cost of us who are mourning Eddie's death. But exactly why should they turn it into a sarcastic joke, on top of the fact that this character wasn't even properly mourned or even acknowledge from everyone else but Dustin? The PR could have turned all the footage of that secene and the ones with Dustin in Episode 8 into the most heart-breaking tribute in the history of this show. Nobody ever joked about Barb or Billy or Bob or Alexei.

Either the PR department collectively cannot read a room, or they're teasing us.

The Duffers are telling us that yes, Eddie died.

Well, Max did, too. The glaring rip running through Hawkins is the ultimate proof.

I agree with you.

I don't only have hope, but I actually think this hope is far more realistic than delusional.

What I'd really like to know, though, is why they deleted the video
