I wanna do a quick little analysis of a couple of the new voicelines we just got from the launch of Milgram Trial 2, so without further ado, let's get into it!

So a basic summary of the lore and the events in the prison since we last saw it is in order, so to understand everything happening. We can see that Mu and Haruka have started to get closer together. as evidenced in their 3rd voicelines respectively:

Although it seems that Mu is using Haruka in some way, it's nice to know that things are amicable between them.

Now...er...the rest of the prison...

Yeah...I don't think it's lookin' too hot.

We've got Ms. Single | Hot | Has a crush on Jake | DON'T TOUCH MY TAIL, (You'd be lying if you said Kotoko wasn't one of those roleplayers in Royale High) running around and beating up everyone, because she wants to be Es' so-called "fangs" and gain brownie points for being a "hArBiNgEr Of JuStIcE."

And then we have her planning to beat up Amane as well, who's a literal twelve-year-old. Who's the child abuser now, little miss A/B/O? Judging from the new sprites, it looks like she got to Mahiru and Fuuta, before our MVP, Shidou was able to get them medical care. Also, props to Kazui trying to protect everyone, you did good, my guy.

Now, onto the actual analysis:

One of the (arguably) most significant changes happens to Shidou, whose out look on his own life has changed, according to his 5th voiceline:

He looks like he's taken the opportunity of being voted innocent to protect the lives of the other prisoners, a HUGE step for the organ harvester himself. He also doesn't hate himself as much with such passion as he did in trial 1, which is also interesting to see. He's one of the victims of metavoting, and so far, it's turning out very well for him!

Speaking of metavoting, it's time to move on to our favorite little girl, Amane! For those of you dumbasses still fuming over why we voted the twelve-year-old guilty, we did it so we could change/challenge her worldview, like we accomplished with Shidou...only this time, it didn't do much. EVERYONE finds a cult programming a little girl deplorable, and sympathize with her. Japan has had a HUGE history with cults, so it's interesting to see the incorporation of such an issue into Milgram.

A detail that I noticed in the M/V for 'Magic' is that Amane's cult seems to be against the idea of modern medicine, so when she helped the "cat" (probably a stand-in for a real person), they tortured her. It's horrifying to see how she's bent to their belief system within her third voiceline:

Shidou, as a reminder, is a surgeon, who's probably very skilled at what he does (despite the years and years of medical malpractice). There are countless cutting edge inventions coming out in medicine today, most of which her cult is probably against. However, the fact that she's still clinging to her beliefs shows that the whispers Mahiru and Fuuta were hearing didn't do much to her. However, it is interesting to note that her appearance has changed drastically, and she looks practically dead inside.

Not much to say about the silly little guy (Mikoto) other than the fact that his appearance is more raggedy, and he's also being openly aggressive towards Es, like in 'John Doe.' I can't say too much about him because his M/V is the most vague out of them, and I don't fully support the DID theory (*cough cough* ableism). I do think it's a red herring, due to Kotoko thinking she was a licensed psychologist (she's literally a college drop out) and making that assumption. Maybe he's lying, maybe he's part of a gang, maybe 'MeMe' is non-linear, we may never know until his second M/V gets released.

Both Fuuta and Mahiru have begun to hear whispers according to the Portal Timeline app translations, which we've seen their behavior begin to change over the past few months, each of them doubting themselves heavily. Yuno has also gotten colder and has started to show aspects of her true self, but there's nothing out of the ordinary with that, since she's hinted at it before.

But anyway, that's it for me. I'd love to see what the rest of you have to say! There are obviously things I haven't talked about yet that I'll hope to get to soon. Ciao!

Ranking all of the Milgram Birthday Outfits on a scale of 1/10 because it's 3AM over here and I have to do school things at 6 (Inspired by this video) ↓

Already off to an incredibly strong start, because as we know, Haruka is perfect and can do no wrong. Dog? Little sister? Who's that? Sounds like a myth honesty. Alright, jokes and Haruka bias aside, very nice ! Relatively plain all things considered, but that's quite fitting for Haruka (I mean, have you seen how this kid dresses normally? I'm somewhat surprised that he didn't go for a full white look. Wonder if Muu helped him out when choosing his pieces) I also love the color blue, so bonus points for that. (shut up I know I just said I would ignore biases) Overall, I give Haruka Sakurai a 8/10 !! Lookin' good, buddy ! ↓

Yuno looks so pretty and the outfit is SO cute !! I love the frilliness of the shirt, the pleated skirt is really cute and in general I love the shades of pink chosen for this outfit, and those SHOEEEES girl where did you get those give me name and address. I honestly have no complaints at all I give Yuno Kashiki a 10/10 !! Absolutely gorgeous girl !! (Also it's unfortunate we're only ranking the outfits and not the cakes, because the decision to give Yuno a fucking staircase cake was genius) ↓

...Mannn, I wish I could say I liked this outfit so badly. The outfit itself is alright, if a bit basic, and Fuuta looks very handsome ! But I can't help but feel like black would've been a better choice for him than dark brown. And Fuuta...my guy...WHY those shoes? I could've maybe forgiven the outfit colors if you didn't decide to pair them with shiny gold...sneakers? What the hell even are those? Get better shoes, man. Overall, I'm giving Fuuta Kajiyama a 4/10. I like the outfit it'self (minus the shoes), but the coloring brings it down a lot for me. ↓

Christ, no wonder Muu got model deals ! Look at this queen right here !! She looks absolutely gorgeous, the dress is beautiful and I love the Beauty And The Beast inspiration. The earrings being inspired by an hourglass is a very cool detail, and the heels look great as well ! I genuinely don't think I have any faults with this one Muu Kusunoki gets a 10/10 ! Nice job dressing to impress ! ↓

One chance Mr. Kirisaki, one cha-- Ahem. As I was saying, Shidou looks amazing in this outfit !! I'm usually not a fan of there being so much white on it's own (I sound like a certain horror fanatic, sheesh.) But Shidou reallly rocks it, and the purple accents are very nice in comparison !! I also really like the shoes for some reason. Shidou is being added to the list also consisting of Muu and Yuno where I need to see who their shoemaker is For Shidou Kirisaki, I give a 9/10 !! Very pretty man. ↓

Mahiru looks very pretty here ! I love the poofy hair accessory, and the birdcage earrings are a very nice touch. That being said however...the dress is a bit too plain for me. I cannot help but feel like something is missing here that would make the overall outfit look way better. A sash maybe? Despite that though, Mahiru Shiina gets a 6/10 !! Looking ready for a date !  ↓

Ooooh...Kazui stans forgive me, but I'm pretty indifferent to this outfit. It's not bad mind you ! Kazui looks very handsome in it, and I like the blue chosen for his tie. But it's the same problem with Mahiru where I feel like it's a bit too plain and could've used something more, like a pattern on his vest or pants. Also though his shoes aren't the atrocity that is Fuuta's, I feel like a black or even a dark blue akin to Haruka would've looked a lot better in comparison to the rest of his outfit. Kazui Mukuhara is granted a 5/10. Not the best, not the worst. Sorry old man. ↓

AHHH SHE LOOKS SO CUTE !! It's like if the frilliness from Yuno's outfit was upped to twenty ! Amane's dress is adorable and looks very comfortable as well, I want a bigger sized version for myself. I also really like her big bow, as well as the blue shoes. But most importantly, Amane seems to be genuinely happy wearing it, and as a fandom, Amane's happienss takes priority. Amane Momose, you'll be getting a 9/10 from me ! Good on ya, kid ! ↓

Ahhh, he's so cute ! Look at how polite he looks ! The blazer is nice, and also blue. Blue bias. And the boots absolutely fucking SLAY. The way his hair is styled looks very nice as well ! I also think this is the closest we have gotten to official art of Mikoto smiling genuinely, and I personally think we need more. And more. And more. Mikoto Kayano gets a 10/10 !! Very cute boy ! ↓

Ma'am, I politely and respectfully ask you to break my neck mercilessly-- Ahem. As I was saying. KOTOKO LOOKS FUCKING AMAZING !! The undershirt oh my god the FUCKING UNDERSHIRT !! Absolutely adore it so much. The colors are all very pleasing to the eye, the skirt is very cute, and the heels look cool as hell !! But Kotoko also looks cool as hell in anything, so is this really fair? Kotoko Yuzuriha has obtained a 10/10 ! Absolutely gorgeous.

the mental image of shidou approaching kazui from behind like "oh, mukuhara, i had to ask you-" and kazui turns around with red eyes, fangs, and a lil blood on his face, which makes shidou give the highest pitched little yelp and nearly stumble back and fall on his ass. amane will NOT let him live it down. she saw. she saw how he screamed like a girl.

Sorry to hold onto this for so long but Thank You I was laughing so hard at this!! 😂 When I originally wrote that comment, I was picturing the easy targets like Fuuta or Haruka -- it was so much funnier to catch Shidou unawares...

Shidou rubbed two fingers to his temple. He didn’t know why filming had been starting so early the past few days. According to the schedule, Muu and Kazui were already up and working. Milgram’s team had a doctor on their staff already, but Shidou liked to be around just in case -- even after a night cut short on sleep.

It should be noted that horror films had absolutely no effect on Shidou, so joining the children’s scary movie night had not been an issue. Rather, Fuuta hanging out in his room to talk, “not scared at all,” for hours afterward kept him up. He hadn’t pulled such a late shift since he’d been working at the hospital.

“Hm… some coffee may do me well…”

He didn’t usually indulge in the drink, but a small cup of it sounded good at the moment. Now that he was working on quitting smoking, he may as well pick up another habit in its place...

The break room was dark when he arrived. He had to blink after exiting the bright white hallways of the facility. He was tempted to flick the lights on, but Kazui and Amane seemed perfectly content in the dark. The light may have been too harsh at this time of morning.

Kazui had his back to the door, pouring some coffee. Amane sat at the table off to the side. She was picking at a small breakfast. The whole scene felt... off somehow. Kazui was still in his pajamas. He never left his room like that. Amane's eyes followed Shidou all the way into the room.

“Good morning.” Shidou greeted her with a bright expression. She kept her face straight, moving some food around in front of her. She stayed silent. 

“You’re certainly up early! It’s very admirable.”

No smile.

Shidou’s expression wavered. The thought of scary movies still in the back of his mind, he couldn’t help but imagine this as a scene straight out of one. Amane’s grim silence in the darkness. Her intense green eyes fixed on him from across the room. He was glad for Kazui’s presence, else he might have actually been unsettled.

He tried to ignore his grogginess. There was nothing strange happening.

“Ah, Mukuhara. Is there enough coffee for m-eugh!” 

Kazui spun around, and Shidou found himself face to face with a monster. 

His eyes were slitted, like a wild animal’s, and bright red. Even in the dark, Shidou could clearly see the vibrant irises. There was blood spattered across his face, and his chest. He opened his mouth, revealing gleaming fangs. 

But the voice that came out was just as laid-back as usual.

“Oi, Kirisaki… I forgot I was already in costume. Looks pretty realistic, huh?”

“R-right.” Shidou willed the shock away from his face. He realized with horror he'd taken a full step backwards. He hurried to close the gap again. “The team did a good job…”  

“I’m bringing Muu some coffee while she gets her makeup done.” He lifted the cup in his hand, which had a coating of what Shidou now knew was entirely fake blood. Kazui’s smile was a bit crooked, revealing one of his fangs. He had the decency to ignore the mortifying sound that had just come from Shidou’s throat. “There should be plenty left for you, if you wanted.”

“Of course, of course. Thank you.” 

“Sorry if I surprised you,” he said. Kazui brushed by him, unable to stifle a little chuckle. 

Shidou dragged a hand down his face. He exhaled, glad to feel his pulse returning to a normal rate. His mind was far too scattered this time of morning. He glanced over at Amane. 

“I suppose you think this is funny? My surprise is merely a compliment to the makeup department.”

She kept her gaze on him. “No, it’s definitely funny. You jumped halfway across the room.”

“It was one pace backwards.”

“It was a huge jump. Plus, you screamed like a little girl.”

Now, she smiled.

This took me a lot of time to draw and finish... Figuring out which character correspond to which phase, I have to redraw Yuika, Vic and Mick's sketches due to feeling dissatisfied with the pose/drawing, drawing Mayor Cain (Which as Only ONE official art)... Accidentally unifying the lineart with the coloring layer and having to redraw it over it in orden to add the remaining shading...

But it was worth it! My favorite one to draw is Dark Kirisaki, but I laugh at Mick's.

Order of Attack (part 4)

The second trial begins!

Warning: Jackalope is very callous about the prisoners' lives. Other than that, there's are descriptions of violence, injuries, and Amane's cult mindset.

Once again, I'm posting this ahead of the AO3 version, and I'll look over it again before I post there.

Rise and shine, Es. So much within Milgram has changed since your little slumber. Allow me to enlighten you on what you missed around here. …

Prisoner No. 2: Yuno Kashiki

… With this verdict of “innocent”, she has tried to isolate herself. However, as cold as she may be, she checks on the “guilty” prisoners from time to time. Something about them must really strike a chord in her.

One fateful day, a certain Mahiru Shiina sought her out. And so, while the rest of the “innocent” prisoners were going around doing who-knows-what, Yuno was close enough to witness the attacks and call for help, keeping Mahiru away from harm while she was at it. She’s a hero. She’s not the most fond of the title and would rather stay away, but she’s not going to turn her back on a friend in need.

Frosty girls with a soft spot. I like- hey, don’t give me that glare.

Prisoner No. 3: Fuuta Kajiyama

Because he was found “guilty”, he’s lost that fire in his blood. Trapped in the never-ending darkness of his own guilt and regret, he wonders if he even deserves to live. A certain Amane Momose has been visiting him frequently, trying to help him out of this slump.

Huh, you’re surprised about how he looks? Oh, because you found Prisoner No. 10 Kotoko “innocent”, she went and attacked the guilty prisoners. Now Fuuta is broken in both body and mind. Fortunately, Shidou treated what he could, or else Fuuta would be dead. Lost.

But see if I care. It’s not like you showed him any mercy either.

Ever since the attacks, he’s gotten closer with Amane. That was bound to happen since she was the first witness. Let him lean on that kid, won’t you? What’s the worst that could happen?

...

Prisoner No. 5: Shidou Kirisaki

… He’s the one who treated Fuuta and Amane after the attacks. If not for him, they would both be dead. But they don’t seem to be particularly grateful. Their loss.

Prisoner No. 6: Mahiru Shiina

Because she was found “guilty”, she lives in a painful state of shattered norms. Looks like she’s going to have to rethink her definition of love a lot now, romantic or otherwise.

Thanks to some miraculous factors in play, she was able to avoid being attacked. But now she’s wracked with an intense survivor’s guilt. No matter how you slice it, she should’ve been attacked before Amane. Even so, she’s constantly looking over her shoulder, wondering if Kotoko will finish the job. Trapped between two turbulent states of mind. Is this what she deserves? Well, that’s for you to decide.

Prisoner No. 7: Kazui Mukuhara

… Regrettably, he arrived to late to save Fuuta and Amane from serious injuries, but he put an end to Kotoko’s attacks. Better late than never, am I right? Who knows how much more damage she could have caused if not for him?

Prisoner No. 8: Amane Momose

Because she was found “guilty”… no no, she hasn’t learned a thing, at least not in the way you intended. Especially after Kotoko’s attacks, Amane has only leaned into her faith more intensely. She’s gotten closer with Fuuta over their shared injuries. Also, she’s completely hostile to Shidou, going so far as to reject or sabotage his care at every opportunity. Something about his actions must really tick her off. That’s incredibly self-destructive of her. She knows she needs that treatment to survive, right? Well, it’s up to you to endorse her actions or not… whatever that means for you.

Prisoner No. 9: Mikoto Kayano

… He got into a real dogfight with Kotoko. In the midst of her attacks, no less. Who knows what he was up to, but you can’t deny that it was well-timed. If he wasn’t around, Amane would have sustained fatal injuries; even Shidou wouldn’t have been able to save her then.

Prisoner No. 10: Kotoko Yuzuriha

… Kotoko attacked three.

Prisoner No. 3: Fuuta Kajiyama. He’s severely injured. Bedridden. He would be dead if not for Shidou.

Prisnoer No. 8: Amane Momose. She has fewer injuries in comparison, but she would’ve been beyond saving if she sustained any more.

And lastly, Prisoner No. 9: Mikoto Kayano. They were evenly matched, and their fight was broken up by Kazui. Thanks to Mikoto’s spectacular timing, Amane was saved from further injury.

A strange order of attack, isn’t it? Well, that’s interpersonal dynamics in this prison for you.

Motomura: Pardon me, Daigo. Could you not suddenly yell “O--n”? This is the Kirisaki High School student dorms, and I’m sharing the same room as you

Sase: I already read it. Many, many times...

Motomura: Well, of course they have to give it their all. They have to fight against zombies after all. 

Sase: Mmm... In my opinion, there are debut works that are a better fit for Noririn out there. 

Motomura: Huh...for example?

Sase: I can think of one. 

Sase: Something I’ve always been dreaming about is a work where young girls chase their dreams while nurturing their friendship and growing up, a work where you can’t help but be in tears by the time the credits roll. 

Sase: That kind of youth movie.

Motomura: An idol horror film where young girls are being chased by zombies while falling into despair in the midst of terror and screams, a film where you will no doubt feel a sense of accomplishment by the time the credits roll is much more fitting, in my opinion

“When?” You asked.

“When I’m ready.” Kentarō stated. You knew it was a lie though, the same repeated cycle would happen every-time you asked the question. You were getting sick of his shit.

“Get your things and get out.” You said; your back facing towards him and your blanket over your head.

He sat flabbergasted. Why was he acting as if he was confused? You both spoke the same language, and he had an A in English.

“W-what?” He stuttered.

“Don’t ask me no dumb question, I said get your shit and get out. When you stop allowing your team members to degrade me and talk about me as if I’m an object then maybe I’ll give you the time of day. They believe I’m one of your dumb groupies because you refuse, refuse to tell them that you’re actually in love with someone, me.  I want respect in public and private, same goes for love, and if you can’t provide the bare minimum then I don’t want to be with you.” You choked out.

Though you knew he wouldn’t hurt you, you were never sure of what a man could do until he showed it. You had height but he was huge compared to you.

“Okay.” He sighed.

He started gathering his things up, peeping glances at your covered body, hoping you’d regret the decision of kicking him out. He knew he should’ve stop his friends when they were talking bad about you but he didn’t have the courage, what a pussy.

After you heard your front door close you immediately ran to lock it, telling Alexa to play your ‘Feelings’ playlist on your way back to bed.

Eventually you unfollowed him on all social media platforms, stopped texting him, blocked his number and you stopped showing up to his games. You started hanging out with a new guy, though you wished he wasn’t a social butterfly, you guys seemed to click.

You met him at the cat Café you were volunteering at. He came up to you, shyly, and told you he loved your hair and your appearance. You took it as a big compliment, his appearance and height threw you off, and decided to talk with him. He stayed to chat with you the whole evening until you were done volunteering, he even offered to walk you home. An offer you kindly declined on, but told him it was sweet that he cared enough.

 On the second Saturday he asked for your number, he told you he had forgot to ask for it before you left but assumed you’d be there on Saturday. After that, you guys would meet up there every Saturday after to volunteer and play with cats.

Months passed by and Murasakibara’s school were having their second to last game. You told your friend you weren’t feeling good. However, You felt perfect. You wanted to surprise him, only if you knew how that surprise would backfire and you’d be the one surprised. 

As you stood in the crowd, near the very bottom of the bleacher you noticed a familiar green colored jersey across the court, then you noticed the lanky pink haired gum chewer. Just then you realized whose match you were at, His.  Kentarō’s . Well you weren’t technically there for him but that was his team. 

After turning your attention from that side of the court you seen Yosen High walk out, with Murasakibara walking in the middle. With his height, he couldn’t be missed. Almost immediately the crowd began screaming, with you screaming Murasakibara’s name the loudest.

This caused Kirisaki Daiichi to focus there attention on you, it wasn't that hard to spot your beautiful dark skin in all black and afro, it was your signature look after all.

“Aw, look at your pretty princess cheering for the opposite team.” Hanamiya laughed sarcastically. 

“She was never my princess.” Kentaro muttered. He’s jealous. It’s written all over his face. Anyone with a brain and heart can see they had dealings that went south.

"She has a big mouth and pretty lips, I wonder what else it does besides scream?" Hara said.

"Watch your mouth." Kentaro said. Finally the bitch got some balls.

"And if I don't?" Hara said, getting up and standing directly in front of Kentaro.

Kentaro took it as a challenge. Seeing as Hara was pushing his buttons, he pushed the shit out of Hara; knocking him over. In retaliation, Hara got up and slapped Kentaro. Both began throwing hits and jabs at each other.

On the other side of the court. You and Yosen's basketball team was staring at the brawl in disbelief. They were really fighting here and now, and did not give an absolute fuck. In the corner of your eye you watched as Hanamiya grinned, that lil evil bitch was always up to something.

After they finally got Kentaro off of Hara, both got sent to the locker room. You wanted to be nosy and 'go to the bathroom' but Kentaro wasn't your boyfriend, he established that his friends were more important than you.

"Hello pretty lady." Hanamiya said, walking up to you.

"How may I help you." You asked. There was nothing you really wanted to say to the weirdo, he disrespected you more than once and never apologized for it.

"Your boyfriend was fighting for you, you know? You could at least check up on him." He said to you; turning around and walking back in the direction he came from.

"Wow. He actually stood up for me. Good for him." You said out loud.

"How are you?" Murasakibara asked.

"I'm fine, Are you ready to play?" You asked him.

"Yeah, but I believe they're delaying the game. I'm gonna look for snacks while they clean up, coming?" He asked.

"Sure, let's go." You told him; grabbing his hand and running off to fin a vending machine to feed your hungry giant.

As you guys approached the vending machine you heard yelling from the locker room next to it. Then walked out Hara, following after was Kentaro.

It was almost as if time froze when you two made eye contact. Tears evident in his eyes but him trying his hardest to not let them flow. You? You on the other hand could care less, a smirk plastered on your face. His time was up a long time ago, he should've had that energy a while back.

I guess life isn't fair.
