Pavitr Prabhakar Headcanons Part 2 (Festival Special)
I'm back with headcanons, this time focusing on our precious boy during our festivals!
He's heart broken when girls start avoiding him during Rakshabandhan (the Indian festival where girls tie Rakhi on their brother's wrist. Usually this happens in family but a lot of boys-girls who consider each other brother-sister do this as well) because he's always wanted a sister. (Well sorry Pavitr but I won't want you as a brother).
Has played Hanuman in Ram-Leela (the stage play of Ramayan, a major Hindu Epic) in Dusshehra (we celebrate the victory of Good over Evil). Wanted to be Shri Ram but was told that he's more of a Krishna than Ram.
BECOMES GOVINDA DURING KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI (the birth of Shri Krishna)!!! Ofc he does, he loves breaking the pot of maakhan (butter).
Ganesh Chaturthi (the birth of Lord Ganesh) is his favourite festival, dresses up the best during this, silk blue kurta with sleeves rolled up and plain white pajamas complete with mojri (a type of shoes).
Has cried once during Visarjan (immersion of idols of Bhagwan Ganesh after the end of festival) while screaming "agle baras tu jaldi aa!!" ("next year, come soon, God!")
Goes to his Muslim friends' house during Eid because sevai is delicious.
LOVES DIWALI. Would never forget to bring lotuses for Maa Lakshmi during the Puja. (and then jokingly say "Ma I brought you your favourite thing now you give me mine" and avsolutely refuses to say what he wants because "Ma already knows")
Lights up the entire house with Diyas only during Diwali and makes it look more serene than lights.
Cannot talk properly during Holi (festival of colors) because his mouth is always stuffed with gujia, malpua or Dahi Bara. Also his clothes in Holi are as colorful as his face.
Visits Gurudwara (the Sikh place of Worship) on the birth date of the Gurus because again the lungar is soo good.
Lol I typed this so fast and as soon as ideas came into my mind. More will come.

Diwali Dresses for Women and Kids: Modern and Appealing Styles for the Festival of Lights
Diwali, the festival of lights, is a time for joy, celebration, and new beginnings. It's also a time for dressing up in your best attire to mark the occasion. For women, Diwali is a chance to showcase their elegance and femininity, while kids can have fun and express their personalities through their outfits.
Modern Diwali Dresses for Women
When choosing a Diwali dress, it's important to consider the occasion and the venue. For a traditional Diwali celebration, a lehenga or Anarkali suit is always a safe bet. However, if you're looking for something more modern, there are plenty of stylish options available.
Here are a few ideas for modern Diwali dresses for women:
Saree with a modern twist: Swap the traditional saree blouse for a crop top or a halter neck top for a more contemporary look. You can also experiment with different draping styles to create a unique look.
Salwar kameez with a modern touch: Choose a salwar kameez with a contemporary design, such as asymmetrical hemlines or embellished necklines. For a more festive touch, opt for fabrics like brocade or silk.
Kurta with a twist: A kurta is a versatile piece that can be dressed up or down. For a Diwali celebration, choose a kurta with intricate embroidery or embellishments. You can also pair it with a modern jacket or shrug for a more stylish look.
Lehenga with a modern flair: A lehenga is a classic Diwali outfit, but you can give it a modern twist by choosing a design with sequins, beads, or other embellishments. You can also experiment with different colors and silhouettes to create a unique look.
Appealing Diwali Clothing for Kids
Kids love to dress up for Diwali, and there are plenty of adorable options available for both boys and girls.
Here are a few ideas for appealing Diwali clothing for kids:
Traditional outfits for boys: For boys, a traditional kurta or sherwani is always a good choice. You can also find modern designs with sequins, beads, or other embellishments.
Festive dresses for girls: Girls have plenty of options when it comes to Diwali clothing. Choose a traditional lehenga or Anarkali suit, or opt for a modern dress with a festive touch, such as sequins, beads, or embroidery.
Matching outfits for siblings: Matching outfits for siblings are always a cute option for Diwali. Choose outfits in complementary colors or patterns for a coordinated look.
Comfortable and stylish footwear: Don't forget the footwear! Choose comfortable and stylish shoes that will complement your child's outfit.
Tips for Choosing Diwali Outfits
Here are a few tips for choosing Diwali outfits for the whole family:
Consider the occasion and the venue: Dress appropriately for the occasion and the venue. If you're attending a traditional Diwali celebration, choose traditional outfits. If you're attending a more informal gathering, you can opt for something more modern.
Choose comfortable fabrics: Diwali is a time for celebrating and enjoying the company of loved ones. Choose comfortable fabrics that will allow you to move around freely and dance the night away.
Accessorize to add personality: Accessorize your Diwali outfit with jewelry, scarves, and other accessories to add personality and flair.
Have fun and be yourself: Diwali is a time for celebration, so have fun and express yourself through your outfit.

25 Days of Christmas: A BTS Anthology Masterlist
Tumblr media
You had just finished an important business meeting when you got a call from your childhood best friend and partner in crime, Dhiraj.
“Hey D, what’s up,” you asked as you jammed the phone between your ear and your shoulder as you pressed the button on the lift.
“Nothing much, kiddo. Just called to invite you to the Diwali function next weekend. Knowing how busy you were, I knew it wasn’t likely you’d see my email. And when I didn’t get a response, I decided I had to call you. So, please check your emails more often,” he scolded.
Working at KM Entertainment was hard work and it left you little time for yourself. You were pretty sure half your friends were going to leave you for not responding to their texts for weeks. The only person you had time for was your boyfriend, Jung Hoseok.
“I’m sorry, D. You know how busy I am. I’ll check the mail and I’ll come for sure. See you there, bye,” You said before cutting the call.
Now, to convince your boyfriend to come along with you.
It’s not that Hoseok didn’t like your family, he loved them. He just didn’t enjoy the questions of ‘when are you getting married’ that all the uncles and aunties asked. That’s why he didn’t like to come along with you when you went home. He loved meeting your parents as long as it was either at your guys’ place or a restaurant.
You had grown up in a small Indian community in Seoul, full of people who mainly worked at the tech companies or hospitals in the city, i.e. it was a typical Indian society. Everyone was a doctor or engineer. That’s why when you sought out to become a music producer, the uncles and aunties weren’t happy. Your parents on the other hand were very supportive and encouraging.
That’s how you met Hoseok. He was a choreographer at KM Entertainment, the record label you worked for. One of your co-workers told you about him and basically got you to go on a blind date with him. You guys had instantly hit it off and became the most loved couple in the office.
So, coming back to the Diwali celebration, you really wanted to go. Diwali was your absolute favourite festival of all time. Where as everyone was excited for Halloween and Christmas, you were the only person who cared about Diwali. You loved the festival because it was a night full of adrenaline, fire crackers, and sweets. It was six hours of good, pure, unadulterated fun. Especially, when it was with your friends.
You had four best friends growing up: Arshad, Rajveer, Dhiraj, Alex. The five of you were truly the best of friends. All of you lived in the same building and went to the same small public school together. You guys lived by the ‘one for all, all for one’ philosophy. If you got a new boyfriend, they would have to approve him first before he was allowed to date you. Being the only girl in the group, they were quite protective of you.
So, the fact that your friends hadn’t met your boyfriend i.e. Hoseok, was driving them crazy. That’s why they had Dhiraj personally call you, cause they knew you wouldn’t turn him down. You had always had a soft spot for him. You were just hoping Hoseok would say yes because you yourself hadn’t seen the boys in a while.
“Hey, babe,” you said as you entered the house, calling out to your boyfriend, who was sitting on the couch watching TV.
“Hey love! How was your day,” Hoseok asked as you sat down on the couch next to him.
“It was alright. I do have some news to share though."
Seeing your nervous expression, Hoseok got a bit worried too and sat up straight, looking concerned.
"Don’t tell me you’re breaking up with me,” Hoseok said and you burst out laughing.
“Of course not, babe. I’m not breaking up with you. I wanted to ask you if you’d accompany me to the Diwali celebration this weekend with my family and friends,” you said. Hoseok had known you enough to tell that you were hiding something, so he raised an eyebrow at you.
“The catch is it’s at my home,” you said and Hoseok immediately refused.
“No way.”
“Please baby, I really want to go,” you pouted and managed the best puppy eyes you could.
“Alright fine!"
Hoseok sighed and you hugged him, thanking him continuously. Smothering his face with kisses, you told him how much you loved him.
"Babe, what is Diwali,” Hoseok asked out of nowhere and you facepalmed. You had completely forgotten that your boyfriend didn’t know about this famous festival.
“It’s a long story, so brace yourself,” you said. “There are two major epics in Hindu culture, the Ramayan and the Mahabharat. Diwali is based on the former. Dasharath is the King of Ayodha and has three wives, Kausalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra. They bear him four sons, Ram, Laxman, Bharath, and Shatrughan. Ram is the perfect son and the heir to the throne. Kaikeyi, Bharath’s mother loves Ram just like her own son. But she is manipulated and convinced that it is her son that should be the ruler of Ayodha and so, she approaches King Dasharath.
“She brings up an old debt he owes her and tells him to exile Ram to the forest for 14 years and to make Bharath the crown prince. The king is devastated but has no choice and so Ram, along with his wife, Sita and brother, Laxman, leave for the forest. While living there, Shurpanakha, a demoness becomes infatuated with Ram and tries to kill Sita. Laxman ends up wounding her and she runs to her brother, Ravan and asks him to avenge her. Ravan had heard of the beautiful Sita and decides to abduct her as revenge.
“Ravan is able to trick both Ram and Laxman into leaving their house in the forest, leaving Sita behind. While they are away, he manages to abduct her and take her away to the island of Lanka. Ram and Laxman travel far and wide to find Sita, but to no avail. They finally come across a band of vanaras, or monkey-men, who pledge to help him. One of the warriors of the vanaras, Hanuman, becomes Ram’s devotee. The vanaras seek out traces of Sita and find she has been taken to Lanka. Hanuman flies to Lanka and contacts Sita and informs her of Ram’s whereabouts, promising that they will be back to rescue her. Before returning to the mainland, Hanuman sets fire to the whole city of Lanka.
“Ram, Lakshman, and the vanaras army build a causeway from the tip of India to Lanka. They travel to Lanka, where an epic battle follows between the armies. Ravana is finally killed by Ram, and Sita is freed. The day Ram returns to Ayodha with Sita and Lakhman after his 14 year exile, and after having slayed Ravan, is celebrated as Diwali.”
“Wow,” Hoseok said, overwhelmed.
“I know it’s a lot, but I’m so happy that we’re going. Let me call Jiwoo, we need new clothes to wear,” you said before getting up to call your best friend. You met up and she helped you design the outfits.
Tumblr media
“We’re here,” you said excitedly as you stepped out of the car. You picked up the box of sweets and headed towards your building. Hoseok knocked on the door and your dad opened it. “Y/n, Hoseok! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming? Come inside,” he said. You both stepped inside and were greeted by your mom. The four of you had a chat over chai and sweets.
“You both look so good. Where did you get these clothes from?” Your mother asked and you told her how Hoseok’s sister was a designer and you both designed them together. It was your idea and her expertise made them perfect.
A navy blue lehenga comprising of a short blouse and a full length skirt for you and a sherwani that fell till Hoseok’s knees for him. Detailed with gold embroidery, Jiwoo had gotten in touch with a woman who specialised in that type of work. Small mandalas that you designed decorated the dresses.
“It’s time for puja. The three of you, come with me."
You and Hoseok followed your mom and headed to your prayer room. She taught Hoseok how to do the prayer and he happily helped. You father smiled at you as you both watched your mom bonding with your boyfriend. After you finished praying, you gave your boyfriend a kiss on the cheek and complimented him for doing the puja.
"It’s time to go,” your mom said. You nodded and the four of you got up to leave.
“Where are we going,” Hoseok questioned. You just smiled at him as you guys walked towards the local school. As soon as you reached the school grounds, Hoseok’s eyes widened.
“Welcome to our yearly Diwali Mela,” you exclaimed as you gave him a tour. There were multi coloured tents that sold everything from snacks to jewellery. The scent of cardamom and cinnamon flooded the air as you crossed the stall selling biryani. There were a good selection of rides as well, all of them bringing back memories from your childhood.
You were about to buy yourself and your boyfriend some Pani Puri when someone hugged you from behind. Just the scent of his perfume could tell you who it was. In the 15 years that you knew him, he never wore any other perfume.
“D! It’s so nice to see you again,” you shouted, turning around to hug him properly.
“Hey, y/n! Hey, Hoseok! I’m glad you guys could make it. The guys have been waiting for you,” Dhiraj said before dragging your away.
“Look who’s here,” Arshad said when he saw you. Individually hugging each one of your friends, you introduced them to Hoseok.
“This is Arshad, Rajveer, and Alex. Don’t take anything they say seriously,” you warned Hoseok but your friends just laughed.
“Y/n, Seema has some work for you, why don’t you let us have a friendly chat with your boyfriend over here,” Alex said.
“Okay, fine. Don’t you dare trouble him,” you warned before turning to leave. On your way, you gave Hoseok a chaste kiss on his cheek and whispered, “They’re harmless, don’t worry."
You went to find Seema when you saw her standing by the stage in the middle of the ground.
"You needed me?"
She turned around and gave you a hug before asking you a couple of questions. You agreed to what she said and followed her backstage.
"So, Hoseok, how long have you two been dating,” Rajveer asked. They were sitting in the back row on some plastic chairs that were arranged in front of the stage.
“Our second anniversary is next month,” Hoseok replied. The boys seemed pretty nice. They knew you inside out and really cared for you.
“Don’t worry, we aren’t going to ask you when you’re getting married,” Arshad laughed. Hoseok looked mortified. He thought you told them about him.
“Did y/n tell you that,” Hoseok asked. All four of them burst out laughing.
“No, she didn’t but we were sure you would have been asked that question a million times cause y/n is our community’s sweetheart. She has always been the perfect friend, daughter, niece, student, you name it. She was really popular in school for being the best dancer. All of the people here want her married off to a good guy,” Dhiraj explained.
Hoseok took a sip of the beer they gave him when he realised something. “Wait a minute, did you say dancer?"
They nodded. Hoseok was confused. He never knew you danced. You had never mentioned it before. Just when he was about to ask the boys another question, the lights on the stage turned on and the music started playing. It was a peppy Bollywood song. The dancers danced gracefully on the stage. But what shocked Hoseok was the person standing center stage.
You, in all your glory, were standing in the middle of the stage, dancing to the beat. Your movements were fluid and flawless. Hoseok’s jaw dropped as he watched you go through the choreography. Being a dancer himself, he could see the technique as well as the grace in your dancing. Your skirt swirled beautifully, complementing your each movement.
Hoseok stood there, mesmerized as you finished performing and stepped off the stage. The crowd clapped loudly and you folded your hands together and bowed. When your eyes met Hoseok’s, you were quick to look away.
Dhiraj gave you a tight hug and complemented your dancing. Hoseok was still with the rest of the boys when someone called for you and you disappeared.
"She’s a wonderful dancer, isn’t she,” Alex asked and Hoseok agreed. He told your friends that he needed a drink and went to look for you.
You were speaking to one of your childhood friends when you noticed something. It was an old dirt path that went behind your school. The memories came back to you. You walked along the path and reached your hideout from when you were young. It was a small patch of grass atop a small hill. You sat down and looked up at the sky, reminiscing about the good times you had had in that very place.
Someone sat down behind you, but you were too lost in your own thoughts to notice them. They cleared their throat and you turned around and gasped. Your ex smiled at you and you quickly stood up.
“I’m leaving,” you said as you walked away. He grabbed a hold of your wrist and pulled you to him.
“Where are you going, love,” he cooed.
“Leave me alone, Jimin,” you said.
Jimin was the only non-Indian kid in your school and you helped him around and ended up falling for him. It was you, who introduced him to your community. They absolutely loved him and he ended up moving in when he graduated. The both of you dated for about three years before you found out that he had cheated on you with your best friend. He begged you to forgive him and you eventually did.
But then, the day before your fourth anniversary, you walked in on him fucking the same best friend. It was only when he realised that you were absolutely ready to leave that he confessed that he had been with her off and on for almost a year. That day, you applied for a college far from your home and made sure not to come back often so that you didn’t have to meet him.
“Still feisty, huh? I missed you so much, love,” he said. His hand stayed firmly on the small of your back, exposed due to the short length of your top. You squirmed in his hold but he tightened his other hand around your wrist. Trying to push away from him, he pulled you closer to him and kissed you. You didn’t reciprocate the kiss but tried to get away from him.
“The boys said you’d be he—” Hoseok gasped as he saw you kissing some random guy. Jimin finally release you and you ran to Hoseok.
“It’s not what it looks like, baby,” you said as you hugged you.
“Who are you,” Hoseok asked Jimin.
“Park Jimin,” he said and Hoseok immediately understood the whole situation. You had told him about your ex before.
“Get away from me, you cheater,” Hoseok said and pushed you away.
“Please, Hoseok, listen to me,” you begged and Jimin smirked. He was really enjoying watching the scene unfold. The anger and resentment was evident on his face. Hoseok walked up to him and grabbed his collar.
“Stay away from me unless you want your pretty face broken."
Jimin looked genuinely scared. He quickly scurried away and Hoseok looked back at you.
You were sitting on the ground, crying. You had gone through a horrible break up with Jimin and all the memories flooded back to you. Hoseok was your everything, you wanted to marry the man someday. Your boyfriend sat down next to you and put his arm around you.
"I know that you didn’t kiss him on purpose. I just wanted to make sure and seeing him smirk when I called you a cheater, I knew it was him who kissed you,” Hoseok said. You hugged him tight and explained exactly what happened.
“I know you wouldn’t do such a thing to me, y/n. I just hated the fact that he hurt you so badly and still had the audacity to touch you. I would have broken his nose if I could” Hoseok comforted you.
Caressing your face, he cooed and tried to calm you down. That’s when you heard a loud sound. The frown on your face disappeared and you pointed at the sky. Beautiful colours filled the sky and the sound of sizzling filled your ears as the crackers burst above you. You had once told Hoseok that your favourite memory was laying in your hideout and watching the crackers.
You both layed down and watched them, fingers interlocked. Hoseok struggled to keep his eyes on the sky as his gaze would always wander back to your face. He couldn’t help but admire your flawless features and pretty smile. You looked at him and saw him staring at you, specifically at your lips. Turning onto your side, you held the back of his head and pulled him in for a kiss.
You don’t remember most of it, but you somehow said your goodbyes to your family and friends and got to the car. You were wrapped in Hoseok’s spare jacket as Hoseok played his ‘songs for sex playlist’. You had always found the playlist ridiculous mainly for including songs like 'Give It To Me’, 'Singularity,’ and most importantly, 'Expensive Girl’.
The moment Hoseok parked the car you rushed out to call the lift. Hoseok followed behind silently before he pinned you against the wall of the elevator when it arrived and kissed you roughly. He pulled  you out of the lift when you reached your floor and quickly unlocked the door. You haphazardly took your heels off while Hoseok closed the door.
He throws you over his shoulder before you could utter a word, cause a yelp to escape you and took you to the bedroom before dropping you onto the bed. Your clothes, quickly discarded and you were pinned beneath your boyfriend. He devoured you with deep kisses as both your lungs strained for air, his soft lips coming down on yours aggressively.
Hoseok makes his way down your body, littering kisses here and there. His fingers snake around you to take your bra off before it is thrown away into a corner. Mouth attaching to one nipple, he uses his hand to massage your other breast before switching. He nips at your skin till he finds your sweet spot and sucks hard, making you moan and squirm in his hold.
He placed a chaste kiss on your belly button before getting up to walk to the closet. Rummaging through the drawer, he picked out a few things before returning to you. He pried open your legs and settled between them before grabbing both your hands and bringing them to the front. He tied your wrists together with some red rope.
You knew he was pissed off about the whole Jimin thing and the only way he would calm down was by punishing you. Not that you minded, though. You were such a brat that you would go out of your way to ask him for punishments or act bratty just to get him to punish you. Once he finished tying you, he tapped his thigh and you got up off the bed. Over the years that you’d been together, you both had developed a sort of non-verbal communication system.
You bent over his lap, your ass in the air. Hoseok grabbed the leather paddle from the nightstand and ran it over your backside and thighs. Goosebumps rose on your skin as you awaited the first blow. It came down harshly and you hissed at the pain.
“One, thank you, Sir,” you muttered.
The rough edges of the paddle made dark blue and purple lines on your ass. Bruises formed all over you as Hoseok continued to deliver hits. The hits got harsher as they came down on your skin.
“Twenty, thank you, Sir,” you said as tears streamed down your face and your boyfriend finally dropped the paddle on the floor. He tapped his foot twice on the floor and you immediately got up.
Kneeling in front of him, you settled between his spread knees and looked down at the carpet. You winced as you sat down on your sensitive ass.
“What an obedient slut you are, aren’t you? But you still had to make Sir mad and you’re going to pay for it. Open,” he commanded and you immediately dropped your jaw, opening your mouth as widely as possible. Digging his thumb into the hollow of your cheek, he made you open your mouth wider, making your jaw hurt.He pushed his boxers off letting his already hard cock out of the dark material.
“I’m going to fuck your throat and you’re just going to take it all, understood?” he warned and you nodded.
A sharp pain blossomed across your cheek as Hoseok slapped you.
“Yes, Sir,” you corrected yourself. Without further delay, he stuffed his cock down your throat making you gag, but he didn’t relent and continued until your nose brushed up against his pelvis. You willed yourself to breathe through your nose as Hoseok thrusted in and out of your mouth. Tears and saliva dripped down your face, making you look like a mess. Hoseok smirked down at you and thrusted even harder.
Your muffled moans and his grunts filled the room. Your throat felt all rough from your boyfriend’s relentless pounding. His balls slapped against your chin, making your face hurt. You were just about to tap out when Hoseok gave out a broken moan and came down your throat. You swallowed it all and opened your mouth to show Hoseok. He patted your head before tucking his hands under your armpits and lifting you onto the bed. With your head down and your ass up in the air, he spread your knees apart after discarding your panties so that you couldn’t move.
You moaned as you felt his tongue flick your clit. He immediately stopped and lifted you up by the hair. Grabbing the ball gag, he fastened it around your head.
“Shh, babygirl, you don’t want to make Sir angry, do you,” he cooed and you whined.
Getting back to work on your core, he inserted two fingers inside you, curling them and finding your g-spot. Muffled cries escaped your lips as your orgasm drew near. Just when you were about to cum, Hoseok pulled away.
“My little slut knows better than to cum without Sir’s permission, right,” he asked before pressing his favourite vibrator against your lower lips. Tears streamed down your face as your orgasm started building up again. Your legs shook as you tried not to cum. Hoseok didn’t stop even though your moans were getting more and more desperate. Before you could tell him to stop, he threw the vibrator away and without warning, he sheathed himself inside you in one smooth stroke. You squealed through your gag as started thrusting.
Gripping your thighs harshly, he pounded in and out of you at a slow yet hard pace. You whimpered and tried to tell him to go faster but were muffled by the gag.
“Want me to go faster, whore? Then beg for it,” Hoseok hissed and you continued trying to beg with the gag still in your mouth. He just chuckled. He slowed down further just to frustrate you.
“What a pathetic bitch, can’t even beg properly.” Hoseok pulled the gag out of your mouth and let it hang around your neck.
“Pl-please, go faster, Sir,” you begged, which he rewarded with a slap to your already bruised ass causing you to whimper. He humoured you by going a tad bit faster but not fast enough to get you to cum.
“Faster, Sir, please. Please,” you begged further and Hoseok finally gave in, pounding into you at an inhuman pace. Broken moans escaped you as he abused your g-spot and grinded against it.
“So tight,” Hoseok gritted.
“Are you close, babygirl,” Hoseok asked in a soft voice. You nodded which resulted in another slap to your ass.
“Use your words, slut,” Hoseok said.
His fingers tightened around your thighs, sure to leave bruises, not that you minded them. You loved to see marks that your boyfriend left on your body.
“Please Sir, I’m s-so close. Please, let me c-cum,” you muttered. The pleasure was getting too much to handle. You needed to cum but you knew very well that if you came without Hoseok’s permission, you wouldn’t be getting any sleep.
“Go ahead, cum for Sir,” Hoseok cooed and you let your body fall over the edge.
You chanted his name as you came. He helped you ride out your orgasm, but didn’t stop even after you came down from your high. Fucking you into overstimulation, you cried as he reached his own high. Cumming deep into your pussy, he pulled out and rolled over to lay down next to you. Both of you laid there in bed for a few minutes to catch your breath.
He untied you and ran a bath for the both of you before picking you up from the bed and carrying you into the bathroom, setting you on the counter. He sat in the tub and pulled you in to sit between his legs. After a long relaxing bath, both of you collapsed on the bed, limbs tangled.
As you stared at your boyfriend’s beautiful face, you recalled the incidents that had taken place over the course of the previous hours and felt an indescribable feeling towards him. Your love for him was infinite but it somehow continued to grow.
Tumblr media
Over the next couple of days, you didn’t leave your studio at all. You barely interacted with Hoseok during this period of time. You slept on the couch in your studio a few times and other times you would get home really late and leave really early. Your boyfriend was getting nervous and was confused as to why you were behaving in such a manner. He was worried that he went too overboard that night and that you were mad at him.
In reality, you had gotten this idea stuck in your head since the day of the Diwali celebration that you just needed to get out and the only way you knew how, was to make a song about it. So, that’s exactly what you did, spending those days composing and writing nonstop. When you were finally done, you recorded it to send it to the team for approval. Once you got the thumbs up from the higher ups, you send it to the group you were in charge of for final recording.
Hoseok was in his dance studio when one of his co-workers came in to give him a new song for him to choreograph. The track was titled, 'Lights,’ and he played it on the speaker to hear it and start working on it. He heard the signature synth sound that you added to every song that you produced, a sort of signature, if you will, to indicate that the song was made by you. As the song played, his eyes filled up with tears.
“When I close my eyes
In the darkness, your light
Lights the way for me
We can walk forward without fear, you & I woah
You’re my light you’re my light
Always shine into my heart
You’re my light you’re my light
No matter how far apart we are
Your light shines on me”
He realised why you hadn’t been interacting with him and he also felt guilty for doubting your love for him. He concocted a plan to surprise you. You had revealed to him quite a secret recently that helped his plan perfectly.
You got a call from Hoseok in the middle of a writing session, asking you to come down to his dance studio in half an hour. You finished your session just in time and headed towards your boyfriend’s practice room. When you knocked on the door, Hoseok asked you to come inside. The members of your group and your boyfriend were sitting on the floor, clearly exhausted after a long practice session.
“So, as you all know, our lovely producer, y/n, over here made you guys a new song. I got the track today and was asked to choreograph it. But after a long discussion with the CEO, Mr. Kim Seokjin, we’ve come to the conclusion that I won’t be choreographing the song."
Loud gasps filled the room as the boys looked at their teacher with confused expressions on their faces.
"Instead, your choreographer for the song will be y/n herself!"
You were shocked at Hoseok’s sudden revelation.
"What,” you asked, confused. The boys started asking Hoseok why you were going to be in charge of the song.
“Your noona here is a wonderful dancer. I didn’t know this fact until recently, either. But after having a conversation with Mr. Kim, we’ve decided that this song should be choreographed by noona."
You told them that you’d come in tomorrow for working on the song and you and Hoseok left to go home. "What in the world just happened?” You asked your boyfriend and he just smirked. You felt confused and happy at the same time because this was a big opportunity that you weren’t expecting at all.
The articles said everything. 'Lights’ had set innumerable records on the music charts and was the group’s best selling single. When asked about the song, the boys all credited you for producing and writing it. The choreography was also applauded as one of the best ones that the group has ever had. Your fan following and popularity skyrocketed to the point where the CEO offered you to quit your job as a producer, and join as an artist and you immediately agreed.
You and your boyfriend curled up on the couch after coming back from a party that was held by KM Entertainment for the success of 'Lights.’
“I’m so proud of you, baby,” Hoseok cooed as he ran his hand through your hair. You snuggled into his chest as he praised you.
“I should thank you for letting me choreograph the song,” you muttered.
“By the way, why didn’t you ever tell my you danced,” Hoseok asked. You had never actually had a conversation about this topic since that night.
“I was too insecure. I always thought I was never as good as you, Hobi,” you confessed. Hoseok chuckled.
“Are you actually kidding me? You’re a way better dancer than I am. I almost lost my job because of you. If Seokjin hadn’t asked you to join as an artist, I was sure he was going to make you the new choreographer."
You hit your arm playfully against his chest before you turned to look up at him. The pride and adoration on his face was so evident that it made your heart beat faster.
You placed a chaste kiss on his lips, whispering, "I love you."
Hoseok hummed in response, the sound echoing your own sentiments. Arms wrapping around you tighter, he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
"I love you too.”

DIWALI PARTY (PETER PARKER X INDIAN!READER)
Summary: Peter Parker is dating an indian girl who takes him to her house for a Diwali party. Peter is apprehensive but little does he know that it would be one of the best days ever! Reader introduces him to authentic indian food and culture. At the same time her family and Peter are getting to know each other. Madness ensues.
Warnings: none, just Peter getting overwhelmed by readers family😂 Also there will be many lines in hindi for which I will put a translation beside it.
Alright let's begin!
*********
Peter Parker was good at many things. He was spiderman, he was Tony stark's intern and he excelled in school. But Peter Parker was not good at meeting new people. He almost always became a cute stuttering mess. This never was a problem until one fine day in October when his lovely girlfriend informed him that her parents wanted him to come for the annual diwali get together.
"y/n what is Diwali and why do I have to come with you?" "Diwali is the festival of lights celebrated all over india and by Indians all over the world over five days in October or November. You have to come with me because my mom told everybody I have a boyfriend and now they all want to meet you. Don't worry it won't be too bad. They might just grill you a tiny bit." Peter was going to be majorly grilled. "Ok it can't be that bad can it? It's next week right? I'll be there." Y/n smiled at Peter and kissed his cheek. "I'll pick you up at 4 the both of us will go together." He nodded.
The week leading up to the party was the most stressful week of peters life. He was nervous. He wanted to make a good impression on y/n's family. He liked her alot you see. He spent hours reading up on indian culture and even learnt a few hindi phrases which proved to be a bit tough for him. May was very amused at her nephew's behaviour. Two days before the party Peter could not take the stress anymore. Even the reassurance provided by y/n was not enough. He went to May and told her everything. "Peter, did you get any traditional clothes?" "Traditional clothes? " Peter was confused. May sighed. "Peter if you want to make a good impression on y/n's family you'll have to dress appropriately. You can't show up in jeans and a sweat shirt. Diwali is a very important festival to indians!" "Now what do I do?" The very same evening Peter was taken to get traditional clothes by his aunt. He tried on many kurtas (traditional Indian outfit) and finally picked a light yellow one with gold designs on it.
It was finally the day. Peter looked at himself in the mirror and adjusted his outfit. He checked that he had everything before leaving the room. The doorbell rang and on opening it he saw y/n. She looked so gorgeous in her ghagra choli (indian skirt and top)
Peters mouth fell open. "Close your mouth you'll catch flies." She giggled. "You look so pretty!" "You don't look too bad yourself Parker." She laughed and pulled Peter in for a kiss. "Remember, no kissing in front of my family or they will kill you. Alright? Let's go." Peter nodded. "Bye May!" "Wait! Peter." May ran out with a camera and a gift. "One picture!" Peter and y/n smiled for the camera. May handed Peter the gift bad and they left for y/n's house.
Just before opening the door, y/n looked at Peter. "Don't get overwhelmed by the number of people inside alright? None of them will try to kill you. You don't need to talk to all of them just the main people. One of my sisters has also got her boyfriend so don't worry you won't be alone. Don't worry about who is who I'll introduce you inside. Just call all the ladies aunty and the men uncle and you should be fine. Maybe not actually? I think I should teach you basic hindi phrases?" She started to panic. Peter smiled at her. "Calm down. I learnt a few lines in hindi, although I'm terrible at it. If you help me I'm sure I'll be fine." She smiled at him and sighed to herself. She rang the doorbell. "Oh I almost forgot. Take off your shoes outside the house." Y/n said removing her own heels. Peter nodded and did the same.
The door opened. It was a middle aged man wearing spectacles who opened the door. He saw y/n and a big smile appeared on his lips. "Y/n beta! Kaise ho?" (Y/n dear! How are you?) "Theek hoon mamaji aal kaise ho?" (I'm fine uncle. How are you?" "Main be theek hoon. Acha yeh batao ki wo ladka tumhara boyfriend hain kya?" (Im also fine. So tell me, is that boy your boyfriend?" Y/n nodded beckoning Peter toward the man. "Peter, this is my mother's brother. He's my uncle." Peter tugged at his collar. Now was his chance to show off his hindi skills and prove to be the better boyfriend. "Namaste uncle. Mera naam Peter hain." (Good day sir. My name is Peter." "He can speak Hindi! You got a good one y/n. Come inside what are you waiting for?"
He turned away and y/n gave Peter a bug smile and a thumbs up. Peter sighed in relief. She grabbed his hand and pulled him inside. The whole room was filled with the fragrance of spices and sweets. Y/n had walked over to her parents whom Peter had met before. "Hello mrs y/l/n hello mr y/l/n." "Hi Peter! Im glad to see you made it." Said y/n's mother. Her father clapped Peter on the back and told y/n to introduce Peter to her grandparents. "Come with me." She pulled him to two old people. "Nani, nanu, (maternal grandparents.) This is my boyfriend." "Namaste aunty, uncle. Mera nam Peter hain." Her grandparents looked impressed. "Hello Peter. I see you're our granddaughter's boyfriend. Take good care of her will you?" Peter smiled and nodded already feeling better about the situation. He met a few more people and they were all impressed that he knew how to speak Hindi. Finally he got to meet her cousins. And boy they were in a much larger number than the adults who were also a huge number of people.
They were all sitting in the balcony all dressed in traditional clothes. Some of the younger children were bursting crakers. "Y/n!" Said one of her cousin brothers. She instantly ran into his arms. They spoke for a while and then she went and greeted her other cousins. Peter stood behind her passing smiles at everyone. One of her sisters put an arm around y/n's shoulder. "So this is the boyfriend huh." She smirked. "Yeah." I muttered feeling insecure. "Hey don't bully him. He's a sweetheart!" Y/n smiled at him making Peter feel a bit reassured. "I gotta go to the loo. Please do not trouble Peter while I'm gone ok?" She warned and left.
"so Peter. You're dating my little cousin." Said the boy who first hugged y/n. "Yeah..." Peter said meekly. "Don't break her heart man. Or you'll deal with us." Said her sister. "I-i would never!" Peter practically squeaked. Where was y/n! The cousins asked Peter a few more questions when finally y/n walked in. "Dinners ready!" Everyone ran out of the door. "I hope they didn't bother you too much. They're very protective you see." Peter nodded.
They sat down at the table where all the children were sitting. The food was all traditional Indian food and there were a large variety of sweets as well. Y/n served Peter more sweets than food. "Wanna make him fat ey?" Said one of the boys laughing. "Shut up. You know the food may be too spicy for him." Y/n said and glared at him. He nodded and stopped laughing. Peter thought he was scared of y/n. The rest of the dinner passed by smoothly. The food was indeed too spicy for Peter but he thoroughly enjoyed the meal. He was definitely going to eat Indian food again.
At last the party was over. Y/n and her parents and Peter bid everyone goodbye and left the house. "We're glad you came Peter. And we hope you enjoyed yourself. If you ever want to come over again we'll be glad to have you!" Peter smiled and agreed. Y/n's parents stopped at peters apartment and told her to drop him upstairs and that they were waiting for her. She nodded and they got off the car.
"I am truly glad you came. I know how anxious you were. " "Im glad I came too. I had a great time today. And I would always do anything for you because I love you." "I love you too Peter." They shared a sweet kiss before bidding each other goodbye.
That night Peter went to sleep with a happy heart.
********
I know this story is a bit wierd but the idea kept nagging me. I hope you enjoyed! Leave requests in my ask!

Top Diwali gifts for your little ones
The festival of lights is particularly famous among kids as they enjoy lighting diyas and bursting crackers. It is celebrated with much fun and fervour all around but kids look forward to receiving diwali gifts. They feel special as we shower our blessings and love upon them. If you are looking forward for some options to gift to your children, here are some finest ideas you can consider for your child.
1. Gadgets : Kids these days are very advance and are well familiar with gadgets. If your kids love gadgets, gift him one on Diwali. Gadgets like smart watch, toy laptop or a smart learning tablet are some useful Diwali gifts for your kids. Not only these are useful but they can keep your child happy and entertained for hours. You can browse some amazing range online. Some of these can be a great learning tool and help in developing skills of your child.
2. Clothes : Kids love dressing up for Diwali and look forward to wearing new clothes. You can buy a traditional attire for your loved one on this auspicious occasion. Try and explore different and trendy colors for a perfect ethnic look. You can choose from a variety of clothes like kurta pyjama, dhoti kurta for boys and salwar suit or lehengas for girls.
3. Crackers : For children, Diwali means crackers. They enjoy bursting crackers and wait for a whole year for this day. You can gify them a hamper full of crackers of their choice, but also be responsible enough to not to buy crackers that cause sound pollution and hurt your kids. Crackers like magic snakes, glow worms, cone fountains, sparklers and pistol poppers are entertaining and safe for kids. Keep in mind the appropriate age and ask your child to burst them under supervision.
4. Sweets: Kids and chocolates go hand in hand. Chocolates and sweets are the best gift for kids. You can customize your own hamper and fill it with assorted chocolates like truffles, milk chocolates, dry fruit chocolates, toffee bars, caramel bars and pretzels. Your kids are gonna love this box of treat. If you love cooking, you can also try making these at home.
5. Toys and Board Games : You can make their Diwali extra fun filled by gifting them their favorite toys or board games. Kids love playing games and cannot have enough toys. You can choose from an assortment of colorful toys available online. You can also gift the board games or sports games like play tents, foosball, water guns etc. If your kid loves music you can gift him a guitar or a keyboard. Robots, toy trains, limo blocks are some of the best options for kids.
Choosing the best Diwali gift for you kid can be a tedious task. Choose a gift that brings smile on your child’s face. You can show your love for him by gifting him something unique and special. Put a little effort and thought and you can get the best for him.

Shopping Mall AU 5
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4
Happy Holidays! Here’s the holiday installment of the story. Hope you enjoy it! Steven takes Connie to the mall to meet Santa, Greg has coffee with Blue Diamond, and they have an unexpected run in with someone.
Connie pulled her scarf close around her neck and then pulled on earmuffs. Her mother looked her over worriedly.
“Are you certain you’ll be warm enough?” She asked, sounding concerned. It was just like her mother to worry over small things like this.
“Mom I’m already wearing three layers, I’ll be in Mr. Universe's van on the trip to and from the mall and I’ll be in the mall for most of the day.” Connie was trying to reassure her worried parent who still showed signs of discomfort with this.
“Well alright, but just promise me that if you see anybody with symptoms of strep throat or the flu that you’ll avoid them at all cost.” She raised a finger and waved it, emphasizing her words.
“I promise mom.” Her phone rang a moment later and she struggled to pull it out of her pocket with the mittens but once she did she was able to see that there was a text from Steven stating they were outside. “They’re here.”
Doctor Maheshwaran knelt down and pulled Connie into a hug. “Stay safe Connie, and make sure to avoid icy patches.” She had time for one last instruction before Connie pulled back.
“I’ll be fine mom. I love you.” She opened the door and shivered as the winter air nipped at her face. She stepped out into the weather and hopped into the van sitting on the plowed street. She smiled at Steven.
“Hello Steven! Hello Mr. Universe!” She said cheerily, giving one final wave to her mom who was standing in the doorway with a worried look on her face.
Greg and Steven waved too before the van pulled away. “So Connie, are you excited to see Santa?” Greg asked, focusing on his driving.
“Yes, I have conducted extensive research into the figure of Santa Claus and I believe I’m ready to ask him what I want.” She had never heard much about Santa before Steven had told her about him. Her family was Hindu and gave each other gifts during the holidays to celebrate one of their own traditions rather than for Christmas.
Steven smiled. “I’m so excited! I can’t believe you’ve never met Santa before!”
“Well my parents told me that we give gifts to celebrate our festival of lights, it’s called Diwali and it celebrates the triumph of good things in the world. It's a little like Christmas, we give gifts, eat nice meals and share our love. We also clean the house and wear really nice clothes. But we celebrated it back in November. We do have a small celebration for the New Year though.”
Steven listened intently. “That sounds cool! I’m sorry I missed it.” He smiled when he had a thought. “Can I come over to your house for New Years?”
Connie blushed. “Well I would have to ask my parents first.” She already knew that her mother would be opposed to the idea.
Steven smiled. “Great!” Connie knew that Steven really wanted to know her better and she thought it was endearing of him. She had liked the boy since they had met but they hadn’t been able to spend much time together.
Greg looked at them. “Alright you two, we're nearly there, remember to stay close to me and to be careful of ice patches.”
Connie and Steven both agreed and pulled their coats closer around themselves. They saw the mall before long. Connie felt a sense of excitement as they grew closer. She was very excited to shop and spend the day with Steven. She was also very curious about this Santa Claus person.
-
Jasper regretted this already. When the person the mall hired called in suddenly saying they were sick it had sent the upper management into a frenzy. They needed someone to replace the actor. So Jasper, being eager to serve, had agreed to fulfill the role until they could find someone better. She did her best not to scratch at the fake beard on her face and looked at the next child who was being led up by Peridot, who was dressed like an elf.
Jasper looked at the child and carefully picked them up, putting them on her knee. “Ho ho ho! Hello little boy. And what is your name?” She asked, falling into the routine easily enough. She couldn’t help but feel that they had agreed to let her do this because of her deep voice.
The boy looked up at her nervously and tried his best to answer. “I’m, um, I’m Timmy and I want a um, a…” He seemed to become lost for a moment.
Jasper did her best to be patient. She spoke again. “Why don’t you tell me what you want for Christmas?”
The boy looked up at her. “I um, I want a um, a reformer.”
Jasper nodded. “Well have you been a good boy this year?”
The boy looked at her and nodded. “Yeah! I always go to bed when mommy tells me to and clean up my toys, and lots of other stuff.”
Jasper nodded. “Well I’ll tell you what Timmy, if you can keep being good I’ll do what I can to get you that reformer.”
The boy cheered and hugged her. “Thank you Santa!”
Jasper blushed and patted his back. “Have a merry Christmas Timmy.”
The boy hopped off her lap and ran over to his waiting mother. He waved goodbye before taking hold of his mother’s hand and walking off. Jasper looked to Peridot who was escorting the next child over. This was going to be a long day.
-
Greg walked with the kids through the store. It was crowded of course. There were dozens of people moving around trying to fill their lists and get all the good deals in the shops. The kids stayed close to Greg but that didn’t stop them from getting excited about all the things the mall had to offer.
Steven stopped in front of the toy store and stared at the decorations with a smile on his face. “They look so pretty!” He exclaimed.
Greg smiled. “Do you want to go in and look around Shtoo-ball?”
Steven stopped himself from staring. “No, we should go see Santa first, there will be plenty of time for toys later.” He stated.
Connie pointed. “Oh my gosh! Is that the new Yego set?”
Steven hesitated, struggling not to look. “We can just check it out later.”
Greg chuckled. “We’ve got time if you want to go inside Steven.”
Steven turned back and cheered. “Let's do it!”
They went into the store. It was filled with children and beefy women trying to herd them and maintain some sort of control over the mob of aggressive shoppers. They were approached by the same woman who had been working here the last time they had been in. She had a stud on her cheek and her teeth looked pointed.
“Hello and welcome to toy land. Is there anything I can help you to find?” She was doing her best to help them so they could leave faster and make the store less crowded.
“Can we see the new Yego sets?” Steven asked excitedly.
The woman chuckled and led them to the section with the toys they were looking for. She left them to see to a boy who was attempting to disassemble a Norf gun. Greg did his best to stay out of the way of various scrambling children as he watched over his own scrambling kids while they looked at the new sets. He made mental notes of the ones Steven seemed particularly interested in.
He could come back around to the shop while the other two were in line to see Santa and at least check the prices. He wanted Steven to be happy. He knew that wasn’t easy on a budget but it was what he truly wanted. The two walked back to him.
Connie was speaking of the virtues of the product. “Of course the ability to use the pieces to construct whatever you can imagine makes for some very intriguing design possibilities.”
Steven smiled. “Not to mention how pretty the blocks look and how manageable they are!”
Connie nodded. “Yes, but have you ever stepped on one?” She winced. “That's why it's important to be aware of your surroundings.”
Greg smiled. “Are you two ready to go?” He wanted to get them in line before the lunch rush started and it really got busy.
Steven looked up and nodded. “Yeah! Let's get going.” He walked out of the store, followed closely by the other two.
Connie moved with him, telling him more about the advantageous and interesting uses for the Yego toys. Greg spotted a coffee shop on the way, it was being manned by a two person team consisting of a teenage boy with ear gauges and red hair, and a shorter blonde girl. They were working to serve the short line of people trying to get drinks. Greg made a mental note to swing by the shop later.
Greg turned to focus on the two children in front of him. He soon saw the decorations and signs indicating that Santa Clause wasn’t too far now. They finally found the line. It stretched back into the corridor they were in and had dividers near the front to keep it orderly. Greg looked at the two as they stepped up to the last place in line before somebody took it.
“Alright you two, take care of each other and stay in line. You should be at the front before long.” Greg looked around. “I need to do some shopping but I’ll be back soon. I’ll bring hot cocoa too.” He promised, smiling at the two.
Steven saluted. “You can count on me sir!”
Connie imitated the salute.  “Me too!”
Greg chuckled and returned the salute. “Alright, take care you don’t wander out of the line.” He waved as he walked off into a separate part of the store.
He began to move around, walking into different stores and buying things for his family and friends. He had them wrapped in the places that offered such a service and simply did his best to keep others hidden in paper bags. It didn’t take him very long to gather up the presents he was looking for. Once he had them all he went to the coffee shop to get hot chocolate for the kids and a little coffee for himself.
He stood in the line and waited patiently for his turn at the counter. As he stood in line he looked around, taking in the shop and its patrons. Most of them were young adults with phones and computers, even a few had novels, but there were a few middle aged people trying to relax with tea or get their second wing from coffee, there were even some children enjoying cups of hot cocoa. Almost all of them were in groups of two or more but there was the occasional loner. Nobody particularly stood out, until Greg saw the woman in blue.
She was sitting alone at a corner table, her hands were held around a cup on the table. She was hunched over, her face mostly hidden from view. She moved only a little, her shoulders shaking as small tears fell from her eyes and mixed with the liquid in the cup. Greg frowned as he watched her, noticing that she never sipped the drink. She seemed to have an aura of sadness around her and though she was taller than most of the other people in the shop she seemed to be trying to make herself smaller. Greg took pity on her and decided to try something.
When Greg finally reached the counter he was greeted by a teenager with gauges in his ears and a puff of dark red hair on his head. Greg ordered his coffee and the hot chocolates for the kids, plus one more for the woman. He stood to the side while waiting for his drinks. Once his order was done he quickly collected it and walked over to the table where the woman sat. He stood there for a moment to see if she would notice him. After deciding that she wasn’t going to look up he cleared his throat to get her attention.
“Excuse me, but do you mind if I sit here?”
The woman looked up at him in surprise. “Sit?” She seemed confused. She had a long face, stained by trails from tears that had streamed down her cheeks. Her eyes were a striking blue and she had makeup on that was slightly smudged now. Her white hair was long, flowing down past her shoulders and framing her face, it was also wound together across her chest somehow. There was a blue pendant necklace in the shape of a diamond on her chest.
Greg smiled and nodded. “If you don’t mind. I noticed you sitting alone over here and thought you would like some company. Maybe someone to talk to?”
She hesitated before nodding. “Yes, please sit down.”
Greg smiled and sat. “I’m Greg.”
She nodded, watching him. “I’m Bella…”
Greg lifted his coffee and took a small sip. “It's nice to meet you. I’m here to finish up my holiday shopping. How about you?”
She looked down. “I work here in the mall actually. I’m on my lunch break now. I wanted to come here and get this chamomile tea. My little sister used to love this…” A small smile graced her lips but it was quickly replaced by a frown and sorrowful eyes.
Greg hesitated before posing a question. “What happened to her?”
She sighed. “She disappeared years ago. My sister thinks she's dead… I… I don’t know what to think.” She looked at Greg. “I’m sorry to bring this up after we just met. It’s just that I miss her so much.”
Greg nodded. “Yeah, I understand. I’ve got a family too, they’re kinda distant, but I love them. I’m not sure what I would do if I lost them.”
She stared at the cup of tea before her. “Yes…”
“Why don’t you drink the tea?” Greg asked.
She glanced at him then back to the drink. “I’ve never liked it much to be honest, tea doesn’t taste very good to me.” She chuckled softly at the irony of that.
Greg smiled and pulled the extra cup of hot chocolate from the cup holder he had it in. “Why not try this instead?” He held it out to her.
She hesitantly took it and lifted the cup to her nose, sniffing it. “Hot chocolate?”
Greg nodded. “Yeah. Do you like it?” He worried that hot chocolate had been the wrong thing to get.
She gave a soft chuckle. “I haven’t had this since I was a little girl.” She lifted the lid and sipped a bit. Her mood seemed to brighten a moment later and a soft smile graced her lips.
Greg smiled himself when he saw her smiling. “You like it?”
She nodded, pushing the tea away. “Yes, thank you.” She looked at him and then seemed to ponder something. “I don’t mean to be rude, but why are you bothering with me?” She couldn’t understand why anybody would bother trying to help her. She was just a lonely businesswoman.
Greg smiled. “Because you looked sad.” He had simply wanted to help her.
She blushed. “You’re very kind…” She sounded surprised.
Greg nodded. “I try to be nice to everybody.” He sipped his coffee. “Now, what do you do here at the mall? If you don’t mind me asking.”
She shook her head. “No, I don’t mind. I’m actually one of the managers. I specifically handle customer satisfaction. That includes customer service and employee health. Basically I’m in charge of keeping the employees and customers happy, I also handle the signing on of new employees. You see all those being hired here at the mall have to go through me before they can be hired by the stores.”
Greg nodded, smiling. “It sounds like an important job. Do you like it?”
She nodded rather enthusiastically. “Yes, I’m always happy to help others. My sister liked to do that too. I think that if she were still here she would be proud of what I’m doing.” That sadness began to return, causing her to look forlorn.
Greg cleared his throat. “I’m sure she would. I work in a number of jobs myself.” Greg tried to steer the conversation away from Bella's sister since that topic only seemed to make her sad.
She looked at him in surprise. “Really? What do you do?”
“Well I run a car wash, host music lessons, work as a handyman, and a number of other things. I just kind of do what I can to pick up a little extra cash.”
She looked him over. “I don’t mean to be rude but are you poor?”
Greg chuckled. “Not really, but we do have to scrape to get by sometimes. Every little bit helps you see. Beside I have to take care of my wife and son.” He smiled as he thought of them.
Bella seemed to take interest in that. “Oh? You’re married?” She didn’t see a ring.
“Yeah, to a wonderful woman. She runs a store herself, you might know it. It's called Terra, it’s just across the street.”
Bella hesitated. For some reason that name sounded familiar to her. “I believe I do know it, perhaps I’ve passed it before?” She hardly paid attention to the things she passed when driving home.
Greg nodded. “Yeah, my wife Rose is really something. She runs the store with her friends and they do fairly well as a business.”
Bella froze as the name Rose. He couldn’t be talking about the Rose Quartz could he? “Rose? That's a nice name, and you say she owns the store across the street?”
Greg nodded. “Yes, she's strong and brilliant. Sometimes I’m amazed she loves me so much.” He blushed lightly and smiled like a lovesick fool.
Bella nodded and began to think. This man couldn’t be married to the woman who was responsible for the disappearance of her sister could he? She would have to conduct some research to discover the truth. She took another sip of the cocoa. “You sound like you really love her…”
Greg nodded. “I do! She's amazing! Perhaps I could introduce her to you sometime?”
She shook her head. “No, that’s quite alright.” She stood. “I really should be getting back to work.”
Greg stood as well. “Yeah, I should get these hot chocolates to my son and his friend.” He smiled at her.  “I hope I’ll see you again soon.”
She nodded. “Likewise.” She left him, heading back to the offices located near the center of the mall. She had a lot on her mind and she needed some answers.
Greg headed towards the Santa section. He wondered if Steven had gotten through the line yet.
-
Jasper leaned back in her chair and checked her watch. It was nearly time for her break. She just had to get through two more children and she would be able to go get lunch and get out of this suit. She grabbed her water bottle from its place beneath the chair and raised it to her lips, taking a deep drink. She straightened herself and smiled, happy the beard hid most of her expression as she looked very tired now.
She looked at the next person in line. “Ho ho ho, merry…” She stopped when she saw who it was that was coming to see her. It was that Rose's son. She stared at him in surprise as he came to stand beside her on the chair.
Peridot cleared her throat. “Santa, aren’t you going to sit this boy on your lap and ask him what he wants for Christmas?” She was just as tired as Jasper and wanted to get this shift over with.
Jasper let out a sigh then lifted the boy up and put him on her lap. “Hello little boy, what would you like for Christmas?”
Steven smiled. “Hi Jasper. It's nice to see you again.” He kept his voice down so as not to spoil it for the other kids. “I came here with my friend Connie today, she's never met Santa before.” He smiled. “I’m happy you’ll be her first one though.”
Jasper was baffled. The boy clearly knew she wasn’t Santa and yet he had still come. Perhaps it was all for the sake of his friend? She frowned a bit. She couldn’t forget that this was the son of Rose, the woman who had taken Persimmon Diamond from her. She would stick to her script though, determined to do her job right. “Well what would you like for Christmas?”
Steven smiled. “I want peace on earth and goodwill towards men! Oh and a new bike.”
She nodded. “Well if you’re very good and behave then I’m sure you’ll get that new bike."
Steven smiled and hugged her, causing Jasper to blush. “Thank you Santa!” He hopped down and ran to the exit where his father was waiting. Jasper scowled at the man but quickly recovered and looked towards the next child. This one was presumably Steven's friend.
She walked up to Jasper and looked up at her, adjusting her glasses as she studied her. “Hello, my name is Connie Maheshwaran. I was brought here to meet you by my friend Steven…” She looked confused. “Are you really this ‘Santa Claus’ person?”
Jasper hesitated. She had been taught to answer these kinds of questions in the very brief run through she was given before taking this job. She smiled a bit. “Well you see Santa is very busy this time of year. So he has people like me come to the mall and help him do his job by seeing to the children here while he takes care of delivering the presents in the North Pole.”
Connie nodded. “So I see. How do we proceed?”
Jasper had never encountered somebody like this young girl before, she almost found herself laughing at the technical way she talked. “Well you sit on my lap and I’ll ask you what you would like for Christmas.”
Connie started to climb onto Jasper's lap, receiving help from Jasper partway through the attempt. Jasper smiled at her.
“So, Connie, what would you like for Christmas?”
Connie thought. “Well my parents buy me my presents, as long as they aren’t too expensive or dangerous, and as long as my grades are good…” She took a moment to think. “But if I could say something I really want it would have to be a quad copter.” She looked at Jasper.
Jasper nodded. “Well as long as you behave yourself and keep being a good girl I’ll see to it that you get your copter okay?”
Connie nodded. “Alright, thank you ma'am.” She smiled a little and then hopped down. She turned to Jasper and bowed to her. “Happy holidays.” She then turned and left.
Jasper waited until the girl was out of sight before she stood up and stretched, groaning as she heard a cracking sound coming from her back. Peridot approached her and cleared her throat. “Come on, let's get changed and grab some lunch.”
Jasper nodded and followed Peridot through the nearest maintenance door. The mall had all sorts of doors like this that connected to the back passages of the mall. All of the passages ran towards the offices and more importantly the changing rooms. “So Peridot, when we were talking you said that you've done this kind of thing before?”
Peridot looked at her. “Yeah, I got drafted into it the first time, against my will I might add, and I’ve been doing it every year since.”
Jasper kept following her. “If the first time was against your will then why keep doing it?”
Peridot took a moment to think. “I suppose it’s because I like it. It's fun, you meet lots of interesting people, and you get to play a character.”
“I see. The money isn’t too bad either is it?”
Peridot chuckled. “No it is not.” She sighed. “And goodness knows I need it.” She glanced at Jasper. “I know this is forward but do you know anybody who's looking for an apartment? Somebody who likes dogs preferably.”
Jasper was a bit surprised. “Actually now that you mention it I’m looking for a new place to stay. The rent on my apartment is getting to be a little much and I wouldn’t mind moving into something more agreeable.”
Peridot looked at her like she was some kind of savior. “Really? You’re looking for a place?”
Jasper nodded. “Yeah, but I'd have to check out your place first, make sure it’s big enough, and meet this dog.”
“He's a corgi named Pumpkin. He's very well behaved and loves cuddles.” She started talking about her dog and the apartment. Jasper listened, asking questions as they finally reached the changing rooms. They changed into their regular clothes and went to lunch together.
-
Steven smiled up at his dad. He was still really excited from getting to come to the mall and that he got to bring Connie with him. “Hey dad!”
Greg smiled at his son. “Hey Shtoo-ball!” He patted his head then pulled a cup from the holder he was carrying and held it out to Steven. “One hot chocolate.”
Steven eagerly took it and sipped slowly, smiling at the sweet taste and the warm feeling from the drink. He licked his lips. “That tastes good.” He looked up at his dad. “Thanks!”
He nodded. “How was Santa?”
“Good. It was Jasper, playing him this year. You remember her right? The nice lady who installed our new fridge.” Steven took another sip of his drink. He didn’t notice how his father paled when he mentioned Jasper.
“Oh… well I’m glad she's doing well. Maybe we'll get to see her again.”
Steven smiled and nodded. “I hope so, she seems like a really interesting lady!”
His dad nodded. “Yeah. Well how do you think Connie is doing?”
“I bet she's having fun.” He smiled and turned back toward the setting. Connie walked out a few moments later and went to Steven. “So Connie, what did you think?”
Connie took a moment to consider. “It was interesting…” She seemed to be thinking about her experience. “I’m not entirely sure I see the point though.”
Steven's dad smiled. “That's perfectly fine, you said that you didn’t grow up with this so it’s perfectly reasonable that you wouldn’t understand it.” He held her cup of hot chocolate out to her. “Here is your hot chocolate by the way.”
Connie smiled and took it, taking a sip. “Mmm! That tastes good!”
Steven nodded. “Thanks for trying Connie.” He looked up at his dad. “Can we go shopping? I want to pick up some presents for mom.”
Connie nodded. “Yes, I would like to do the same for my parents.”
His dad nodded. “Alright.” He checked his watch. “We've got plenty of time.” He knew that they would have lots of energy from their cocoa too and that it would be good to have them use up some of that. “Where to first?”
Connie pointed to a shop that sold cooking instruments. “My mother could use a new spatula.”
Steven nodded. “I think mom needs a new cooking knife right?”
Greg nodded. “Yes, come on you two.” He led the way to the shop followed closely by the two children. On the way to the shop he looked back at the children. “Alright, now stay close to me, there's a lot of traffic this time of year and we don't want to have any,” he didn’t get to finish his sentence as he accidentally ran into a thin woman dressed in a yellow work suit. She had a nose shaped like a bird's beak and a round face.
The woman squawked as she fell down and landed on her behind. Greg stumbled back and looked at her. He stepped over and knelt. “I’m sorry! Are you alright?” He examined her to see if she was hurt.
She glared at him. “Watch where you’re going!” She stood up and ran her hands down her suit, trying to brush off any dust or grime. “Honestly, people never pay attention these days, why do you even have eyes if you don’t use them?”
She was about to go on when a large woman walked up behind her and cleared her throat. “Miss Maegan, is there a reason you've stopped working?” The woman stood at more than six feet tall and seemed to loom over all those around her. She was dressed in a sharp business suit with pants and had a serious face. Her hair was a bright blonde and she had a yellow diamond pin in her lapel.
The smaller woman paled and stiffened as she turned to her. “Miss Diamond! I was just reprimanding this man for running into me.” She gestured towards Greg.
The woman sighed and scowled at the woman. “Get back to work Miss Maegan, I’ll take care of this.”
She frowned. “But ma'am there really isn't-" she was cut off when the large woman shot her a glare, causing her to shut her mouth and look down. “Yes ma'am.” She shuffled off to finish whatever work she was supposed to have been doing.
The large woman turned towards Greg and adopted a more neutral expression. “I’m sorry about that. My assistant can get a little distracted at times.”
Greg raised a hand and shook his head. “Don’t worry about it, it’s perfectly fine. It really was my fault anyways.” Steven and Connie both stood at Greg's sides and looked up at this woman.
She looked at the children and then at Greg. “All the same let me make it up to you.” She reached into her jacket and pulled out a pocket book. She flipped it open and pulled out some cards which she held out to Greg. “I’m Yasmine Diamond, one of the managers of this mall. We value our customers here and would like to offer you these gift cards as an apology for our clumsiness.”
Greg hesitantly took the cards. “Um, thank you? But like I said there's no reason for-" She held up a hand to stop him.
“There is plenty of reason.” She tucked pocket book back into her jacket and straightened it. “Have a pleasant day sir.” She turned and walked off, heading in the same direction her assistant had gone.
Steven looked up at his dad and frowned. “Dad, are you okay?”
Greg looked at the cards and then slipped out a business card from between them. He tucked the cards into his pocket and studied the business card for a few seconds. “Yeah, I’m alright Steven.” He smiled at the kids. “Come on, let's go buy those gifts.”
He ushered the children forward, making sure to watch where he was going. He felt nervous now. That had been The Yasmine Diamond, the sister of Persimmon Diamond who many believed his wife had caused to disappear. He considered himself lucky that she hadn’t recognized him, her temper was famous to even him. He wanted to get the kids finished with their shopping and get out of there quickly before any other incidents happened.
