also this isnt really proper shade at larian or anything and the writing of this game is SAURE good so dont take it this way but.
i sure do wish. Minthara was not villain batted as hard as she was. Her being locked to "evil" runs and being mutually exclusive with several party members. Her being nothing more than a miniboss for your average player- who does not even know shes a potential party member! Her being so chronically unloved by the community because... shes the "evil" companion. Hell, even the amount of people saying frankly really edgy shit about killing her or hurting her completely unprompted lmao. Like I genuinely think shes been pretty unfairly demonized both by the community and by the meta of just like... the game itself because she's really actually..... kind of, dare I say, sweet? if you get to know her. ugh.
#also if i had two nickles. shes sylvanas all over again lads i fear#idk obviously larian handles her character much better than wow ever handled sylvanas but its genuinely like#kind of eerie how similar they are and how hard they where both villain batted considering how evil they actually are#ESP compared to their male counterparts#like i would argue that neither of them are any more evil- and likely are even less evil- than a lot of the men in the same game that#are not villain batted at all.#like every character in warcraft is a war criminal so sylvanas is hardly uniquely evil on that front#and i have a hard time buying that minthara is anymore inherently evil than astarion lol#idk again larian handles trauma much better and it feels... inauthentic to accuse them of not treating minthara well because shes#traumatized. thats def not the argument im making here but it IS really sad to relate to / find catharsis in another traumatized elf#only for her to be. villain batted just like the last one :/#idk. its just a bummer.#like again thankfully its not a thesis of larians like. karlach and shadowheart and laezel are all beautiful and wonderful examples of like#traumatized women allowed to be angry and validated for being angry#BUT im selfish haha i want my bestie minthara to be able to have a happy ending w the rest of us and i dont want to see her demonized for#idk being a traumatized angry woman like!! it seems outta place for that to be the message but#whatever im rambling ive lost the plot#my post

kinda shocked at how dead the Arknights Ao3 page is. I think I saw somewhere that a good chunk of players mostly play for the story/characters, so you’d think there’d be way more fanfic.

Might catch flack for this from the "it's a joke lighten up!!!" crowd lol idk but Hozier, Tamino, Jeff Buckley and singers compared to them etc are not "Lesbian coded men" or "written by women", they are/were simply men who like women and aren't disgusting grossly objectifying freaks about it in their work, and your average straight woman's standards have been lowered by her average counterparts (esp in music) to the point that a singer actually being nice about a woman is now seen as some mystical unicorn man instead of just being a regular dude who likes the girl he's singing about. And there's a weird perception within this that lesbians are "more pure", just bc most lesbians presumably actually respect women by being women (and gain no benefit from patriarchy or social honor from their peers when they are gross and nasty to other women anyways because they are ultimately also a woman!). So now there's this unsaid perception that they're "nicer" or "more pure" by default when they're just....normal towards their partners and treat them like people a lot of the time! Straight cis men are not "just like lesbians" because they are nice to them when writing and singing about them! They are not "written by a woman" just bc because they're not a nasty freak about them in their music! They're just straight cis men being given pats on the head in a weird way because they went above the bare minimum of their peers!
Thus it's now percieved to be "haha awww" that a male singer would actually like and be nice about the woman he sings about because their peers have lowered the standard to an absurd amount, and people now assume a wlw relationship would be more "pure" in nature because No Dudes Here, and the "they're just lesbians in male bodies :)" jokes reinforces this lowered standard of hetero cis men. These dudes, while very talented and seemingly nice, aren't some fictitious girl-created beings or "practically lesbians!!!" they are literally just straight dudes who are nice and we're giving them an awful lot of weird credit in areas where they're just....being normal unlike a lot of dudes. That's not even them being "feminist icons" or whatever, like yes their works are nice, but it shouldn't be unique or special or seen as "done by a man who's just like a woman who actually likes women!" when a man isn't a gross weirdo about the women he sings about.

ND for NT? Neurodivergence in National Treasure
(Abigail Chase Edition) -- Pt 2
Last time we started looking at how Abigail compares to Rudy Simone's list of questions about Autism in women & other high maskers.
Now we'll do the other two parts.
Part 3 “Emotions/Physical”
→ Emotionally immature and emotionally sensitive
Sensitive, perhaps. Immature? She seems to be handling the breakup much more maturely than Ben.
→ Anxiety and fear are predominant emotions
Not seeing this in canon.
→ More open to talking about feelings and emotional issues than males with AS
Maybe? She is the one to press on the "why are you like this?" question in the dressing room.
→ Strong sensory issues - sounds, sights, smells, touch, and prone to overload. (Less likely to have taste/food textures issues as males)
The best case I can make for this is probably the Reading Terminal Market chase scene. She immediately hides somewhere cool and quiet (behind the meat counter). Then she gets jump-scared by Riley when she’s hiding in the flowers.
→ Moody and prone to bouts of depression. May have been diagnosed as bipolar or manic depressive (common comorbids of autism/AS) while the AS diagnosis was missed
No canon evidence.
→ Probably given several different prescriptions to treat symptoms. Will be very sensitive to medications and anything else she puts in her body so may have had adverse reactions
No canon evidence.
→ 9 out of 10 have mild to severe gastrointestinal difficulties  - e.g. ulcers, acid reflux, IBS, etc.
No canon evidence, but this would be interesting!
→ Stims to soothe when sad or agitated: rocking, face-rubbing, humming, finger-flicking, leg bouncing, finger or foot-tapping, etc.
No? Riley does more of this than anyone else in the group.
→ Similarly physical when happy: hand flapping, clapping, singing, jumping, running around, dancing, bouncing
Not really? Even when they find the treasure she’s pretty still.
→ Prone to temper or crying meltdowns, even in public, sometimes over seemingly small things due to sensory or emotional overload
Not that we see.
→ Hates injustice and hates to be misunderstood; this can incite anger and rage
You could consider her rift with Ben in BoS as part of this.
→ Prone to mutism when stressed or upset, esp. after a meltdown. Less likely to stutter than male counterparts but may have a raspy voice, monotone at times, when stressed or sad
She can come across as a little monotone, but that could also be the combo of her accent and personality.
Part 4: “Social Relationships”
→ Words and actions are often misunderstood by others
Well they’re definitely misunderstood by Ben, but that might be a Ben problem.
→ Perceived to be cold-natured and self-centered; unfriendly
Yes. See “mean Declaration lady”
→ Is very outspoken at times, may get fired up when talking about passions/obsessive interests
Ask her about Thomas Jefferson I dare you. In all seriousness, I think the way she thanks Ben at the gala is pretty indicative of this. Her close-to-the-vest composure evaporates when she admits in a rather youthful, indulgent way that she’s keeping the GW button because she “really wants it.”
→ Can be very shy or mute
Ben and the henchmen all think she talks a lot but I think she’s just, like…a woman who dares to have an opinion on the high stakes situation she’s involved in?
→ Like her male counterpart, will shut down in social situations once overloaded, but is generally better at socializing in small doses. May even give the appearance of skilled, but it is a ‘performance’
I will cite the gala again.
→ Doesn’t go out much. Will prefer to go out with partner only or children if she has them
We never meet anyone that she’s close to other than her assistant (work friend) and Stan (work enemy). So very possibly true.
→ Will not have many girlfriends and will not do ‘girly’ things like shopping with them or get-togethers to ‘hang-out’
We never see Abigail close to any women outside of work. She’s close enough with her assistant to gripe about Stan, and she knows the event planner by name. We also see her interact with Emily, but they seem cordial, not like they’re getting brunch on the weekends. Other than that its dates (whats-his-face from Book of Secrets) and business meetings (Mitch) with men.
Lol National Treasure does not even come close to passing the Bechdel Test
→ Will have a close friend or friends in school, but not once adulthood is reached
See above, until Ben and Riley.
→ May or may not want to have a relationship. If she is in a relationship, she probably takes it very seriously but she may choose to remain celibate or alone
I will refer you to the deep dive on Ben and Abigail’s relationship for more detailed analysis, but yeah I’d say Abigail takes their relationship seriously. Actually, I think it’s because she takes it seriously that she leaves Ben when he’s not respecting her input. Also, my personal headcanon is that it took Abigail almost the entire time between discovering the treasure and the “Three months later” scene to actually warm up to the idea of dating Ben. She does not strike me as someone who starts relationships easily or casually. I think it would take a lot more than a kiss in the catacombs to convince her to take that leap.
→ Due to sensory issues, will either really enjoy sex or strongly dislike it
Umm…all I can say to this is that National Treasure is a very sexless movie. (Which is fine by me lmao) Ben and Abigail’s flirtation is much more intellectual than physical.
→ If she likes a male, she can be extremely, noticeably awkward in her attempts to let him know, e.g. she may stare when she sees him or call him repeatedly. This is because she fixates and doesn’t understand social gender roles. This will change with maturity
I think Abigail is on the other side of this, so it's hard to say what she used to be like.
→ Often prefers the company of animals but not always due to sensory issues
I don’t consider Edge of History a particularly reputable source of canon, but I'll allow the dog.
Conclusion
Hmm, Abigail was knocking it out of the neurodiversity park on the two categories in Part 1. Here she's more middle of the road.
While there were a few strong "yes"s, there's also just so much we don't know about her personal life and her past. As with Ben, we only get to spend time with Abigail during the two most chaotic weeks of her life.
In short, I think there is plenty of fodder for reading Abigail as Autistic. For me personally, I take to that reading more easily than Ben. In any case, there is so much here for fics and headcanons.
What are some of your favs?
What did I miss?

I know you've criticized the show portrayal of Alicent but what about Rhaenyra? They turned her into "not like the other girls" and just a good flawless mother and nothing else.
EDITED (8/16/23)
A.
Weird that people still complain that Rhaenyra was not a good mom for sending her sons out to assure alliances. This was at a time before the Dance when everyone [except Aegon II and Aemond] was actually trying to pretend that they weren't going to battle, so both sides expected their messenger-children to be safe. Plus you do not kill messengers. This is diplomacy basics 101, killing one itself and act of war, let alone then being children. If Rhaenyra expected any green negotiator (she didn't even know Aemond would be the one) to not risk the greens' image and possible upper hand in such a way, I cannot blame her. Plus, she expressly said to Luke not to be in any fights jic. Aemond is the one to start something.
It happens in canon, so people who did not like Rhaenyra for being a women pursuing power over men are going to find reasons to critique Rhaenyra's motherhood as a means to criticize her pursuing power over men, which being a Queen Regnant would give her.
In the original story, there is no hint of contention between Rhaenyra and her kids, bio or not. Same with Daemon. Her kids turned out self confident with stronger senses of responsibility and unity (Jace and war planning, trust in Daemon; Joffrey eager to participate and avenge his brother; Lucerys protecting his brother from Aemond; Aegon the Younger apparently worshipping his older siblings and Daemon, Baela wanting to fight and stay with Jace, Rhaena's grace, these twins doing all they could to help their younger brother, esp to oust Unwin Peake, etc.).
Why would Rhaenyra NOT be portrayed as a caring and responsible mother?! Those kids turned into great people, and it had to come from her and/or her parenting skills. Compare them to their book!green counterparts (Aegon, Aemond, Daeron) who have do not have have even a basic care for anyone aside from themselves, sacking a city of injured people, perform genocide, leave each other out to dry when need most, rape, etc...well apart from Aemond raping someone (yet) little has (or should) change in the show. So still applies.
In the show, again, no contention, bio or not. Meanwhile we have Helaena refuse to let her mother touch her several times since childhood, despite allowing Jace to dance with her. Alicent and Otto either slapping or dragging Aegon around as if he's a contraption that won't work the way they want him to. Aegon brought his 13 yr old younger brother to a brothel house before the kid could even prepare even with his too-young age. And Aemond, while seemingly close to Alicent, is obsessed with besting his "Strong" nephews while becoming some sort of co parent with Alicent.
B.
I actually have criticized the show!version of Rhaenyra. Here is one POST. And ANOTHER. In these two posts, I and mononijikayu express how the show takes Rhaenyra's canon aspects and actions and either gives them to Alicent or removes them entirely for the sake of the prophecy that Viserys uses against Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra's characterization quite literally takes a backseat to this prophecy that truly is so unnecessary the way that it is currently written that it flattens the narrative drama entirely.
And why does it flatten and dull it? Because the writers made Rhaenyra, similar to what they did to Alicent, a less self-drive and determined version of her canon self for the sake of the male gaze (post by xenonwitch). Rhaenyra, the protagonist, was flattened so the male audience and creators could feel comfy about a woman seeking power. Flattened into a woman who only wanted to do what her daddy said she should as a ruler (even though being a ruler wasn't as altruistic as the show tries to make us feel with all this "for the realm" stuff, either in the real world or in Westeros. Even if you are Aegon I. So why can't a woman be the same?).
They even constructed a storyline where they wanted people to compare her sleeping with a Kingsguard vs a prince sleeping with an ordinary noblewoman or servant girl into a debate of rape when I can't take that seriously. Besides the post I linked to you, Aegon II is the rapist of subordinates here, not Rhaenyra. Canon!Criston, like in the show more likely tried to get Rhaenyra to run away with him or sleep with him but in canon, it's unlikely she actually would have slept with him because she wanted Daemon.
C.
This is a real question I'd like you to answer since it has confused me since I first heard it. In what ways is even show!Rhaenyra "not-like-the-other-girls"?
Though I can't believe that I am defending this show, I can't see it. NLOG are either women/girls that feel all women are inherently lesser, but that themselves are the exception (and a few others who they grow intimate with). They are thought of as "non-girls" who don't care to "be a girl" at all because they are led to believe that being a girl and having feminine-perceived traits and behaviors is inherently inferior to anything construed as masculine.
However:
show!Rhaenyra never has shown a dislike toward other women for being women that she then thinks are inferior women to herself.
Rhaenyra in the show is not masculine just because she loves to ride her dragon, because she killed a boar, or because she wears pants. That's really just enjoyment of the dragon, dragonriding, and freedom. As all Targ women love their dragons: Alysanne, Alyssa, Visenya and Rhaenys the Conquerors, Rhaenys who would have been Queen, Saera who would have found freedom if she hadn't been stopped, Rhaena who was Queen Dowager and found self-confidence when she bonded with Dreamfyre, Baela & Rhaena the twins, and Dany way after. Including all those Valyrian dragonriders like Jaenaera Belaerys and the ones who were sent out, like the men, to control Valyrian outposts and established. It's really only in a Westerosi/Andal patriarchy that show!Rhaenyra could be seen as a "tomboy" (more accurate), or a woman "trying" to be more like a boy and not "herself". Visenya was a warrior but also was comfortable in dresses, as F&B explicitly states as if this were strange.
Before anyone brings up episode 3 and Rhaenys lighting up on that older woman, here is the dialogue:
Ceira Redwyne: My lord husband says that no king has even been able to tame the Stepstones for long. It's an inhospitable place suited only for savages. Perhaps the Princess...can give us some insight.
Rhaenyra: Oh, I'm not sure how I could. I've never been to the Stepstones.
Ceira Redwyne: Your dear uncle is the great mind behind this war. Is he not?
Rhaenyra: I wouldn't know. I've not spoken to Daemon in years.
Ceira Redwyne: Since you supplanted him as heir.
Alicent: Daemon made his choices, Lady Ceira. The Princess was more suited to the role.
Ceira Redwyne: He's made a mess and the King must put an end to it. Send fleets and men and clear out the Triarchy for good.
Rhaenyra: But the Crown is not at war.
Ceira Redwyne: The Crown is at war, Princess. Though your father refuses to admit it, we've been dragged into it by your uncle and the Sea Snake.
Rhaenyra: And how have you served the realm of late, Lady Redwyne, by eating cake?
1)
Ceria (and maybe the writers but were giving the the benefit of the doubt here for the sake of argument) doesn't seem to be aware that the pirates like the Crabfeeder have been endangering the commerce of merchant and traders in KL for a while (Fire and Blood). They had been extorting them with "tolls" and of course what happens when someone can't pay?
Daemon may be out in the Stepstones to keep himself distracted for. Viserys' rejection, busy from the nothingness he'd left be else since he hated Rhea Royce and the Vale, and to gain some glory/experience for himself. But he is also still the only other person doing anything about a real threat. Viserys had been ignoring Corlys for a time in the show, and as I said, the pirates and their tolls would have gotten worse for KL's economic well-being if not for the lives of traders. Now Ceira wants to complain about how it's taking too long, implying that she's losing out from it? Yeah, it'd annoy me even if I wasn't Daemon's relative or if I hadn't liked him.
2)
This is hardly Rhaenyra thinking the woman is inferior bc of her gender. It also isn't Rhaenyra equalizing Ceira's gender with an inherent inability to actively participate in militant activities, whether due to an idea of female weakness or the practice of disallowing women from such activities. (explained above about the accountability of Daemon for the war)
It's more about getting at her for criticizing someone she loves (romantically or not) and respects and has missed "for years". Even with Viserys, Viserys is her father whom she still wants trust and intimacy with.
Again, not because Daemon and Viserys are male and she's looking to impress them to validate her very existence or just naturally thinks she is a superior woman over the "typical" woman, but because they are quite literally the only family/companions she has left. Her mom died tragically and her last minutes were unnecessarily violent (it's unclear how much Rhaenyra knows about Viserys cutting her open). Rhaenyra had to burn her by Syrax's flame and by her own command! Daemon was the one to bring her confront when she was looking for that from Viserys.
We see her angry and lonely from the image of her at the tree, unable to really reconcile how Alicent married Viserys or go to her for comfort and destress as before. Remember that Viserys didn't speak to her before he brought her down to Balerion's skull to discuss his making her his heir, and afterwards we still see no evidence of them conversing easily, getting along, or talking about their loss. Viserys pushes through, doesn't try to see what's going on with Rhaenyra. To Rhaenyra, it's going to feel like her father abandoned her mother and her. Hence the frustration with him saying she has to marry despite her fears of childbirth (it's like Viserys isn't aware why she is afraid or reluctant...thus that feeling of abandoning her mother). She's also concerned that she'd be even more emotionally abandoned and used by her could-be husband (we find out in episode 4 and that her power will wilt under said hypothetical husband's lack of concern or real care, bc hed likely try to do as people say Daemon is doing and undermine her authority and steal power for himself. Make her a puppet queen/heir.
She and Alicent -- no matter what the writers have told us -- are no longer friends at this point because Alicent is now Rhaenyra's stepmother and it's a heavy conflict of interest with Alicent literally being pregnant & already having had a boy that make people feel free to question Rhaenyra's place more than they did before. At the very least, the court is less comfortable (understatement).
Thus she lashed out, and not even that harshly. We remember that lords and ladies typically talk to their monarchs, princes, and princesses well-manneredly, and while Rhaenyra doesn't seem to care for punctilious formalities -- unless she already dislikes you from a previous encounter of a person pushing boundaries (Jason Lannister) and wants to put distance and castigate for rudeness or insults (which she did here) -- again this was just not the right moment for Ceira to be telling the upset, depressed, lonely, and quietly raging Rhaenyra that her father and dear uncle are not doing things how she want them to, even if she could be argued as spitting facts.
Sometimes it just be like that. Ceira can take the L for talking too much. She seems strong enough to take a non-insult (or as some may say, a read) from a 17 year old, with all her criticisms. Aside from also being more than 40 years her senior, as I judged the actress's age to be late 50s to 60s.

Random Captain Marvel Rant
Tumblr media
Note this is a positive rant because I love her.
Women usually are only allowed to have positions of power if it's in the shadow of men. Esp in comics. It's even under the male counterparts title which is evocative of the mysonist tradition of women' taking their male partners name in marriage thus erasing an aspect of their identity. The very identity of women superheroes are these shadows of men... supergirl, batgirl, lady thor, she-hulk, Kate Bishop becomes Hawkeye. Captain Marvel falls under this in the comics but is her own person in the MCU and that is extremely powerful. More than that she is one of the most powerful characters in the MCU and didn't get her powers at all from a man, and further doesn't fall into the crazy overpowered woman trope like the literal image on tvtropes.org  (Wanda which is a whole other sigh thing). It's important to see women can have power independent of men... esp when comic books have historically propagated this disgusting sexist trope. The Captain Marvel movie does this.
Further, Carol Danvers is told over and over that emotions get in the way; make her weak. This is something real women face every damn day and is hugely oppressive to them... esp in the workforce and in politics, which often bars them (and female voices) from legislation and policy making positions. Seeing Carol come to terms with her past and taking her power back from her literal oppressors and being her own emotional, human, independent, badass is very important for girls, women, (AND boys, men, and people in general) to see. Emotions are not a weakness.
I love that Carol doesn't fight Yon-Rogg. She doesn't have to. She's better than him. She doesn't have to prove herself, because he's a waste of her time. OH and unlike DC with Wonder Woman.... she isn't dating a dude either... YES women can exist without a love interest. F*cking this!
Lastly, Captain Marvel is a fun 90's buddy cop movie between Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson. A woman and a black man. Do you know how rare it is to have a movie with no white male leads? Like the only thing I can compare it to is Rush Hour. Like all these buddy cop movies are white guy with X type of partner - X being a black man, younger white guy, a dog, ect.

You know, the art style for Engage isn't so bad for me compared to 3H where Chinatsu's wide pinprick irises and desaturated shadows felt lifeless enough to turn me off from buying the game. But unfortunately Engage has possibly worse design sense for its lord/protagonist esp. its female avatar (why do these keep getting hit worse than their male counterparts) so yet again I feel compelled to skip it for aesthetic reasons. IntSys needs some different art directors because man FE has been hard on the eyes for the past four years or so. It's like FE is struggling to stay current with designs similar to those found in modern isekai stories and the result is something without an identity that just blends in with all of those countless properties.
Yeah like... the basic stuff is fine, good even. IMO it's better compared to 3H, especially ingame stuff. But the color choices and-so far-the same face stuff for the women we've seen is just strange

I thought Loki Larry TV show cannot be worse but they really had to bring romance into it? Why does Larry even need any love interest? And why from all the people it's just his alternate reality version? Not to mention this would never happen if his counterpart was male presenting...
Uh I mean there is already so many things to hate about the show they really had to add unnecessary love interest on the list?
Yeah I too thought it had hit rock bottom. That was our first mistake. Apparently Disney’s new brand is making sure things can always be worse. Compared to this disaster, Star Wars: The Last Jedi looks wonderfully coherent and respectful to the legacy that fans expected it to uphold. The Loki show is like TLJ if the whole thing was just 2 hours of the scene where Luke dribbles blue milk all over his face.
Disney better change their tagline. “Disney - crappiest place on earth. Where nightmares come true! :)”
And yeah. The “love story” is so, SO bad. I mean I guess I’m glad it’s Sylvie and not Mobius (who actively tortured and enslaved him) but honestly there’s not much difference. She also mistreats and mocks Loki. And they JUST MET. There’s no chemistry. There’s no reason for them to be together. It’s awful! I hate it with a burning passion. And she is SO annoying. I hate how they basically made him her sidekick in his own show. And if he’s this stupid clown why would she like him?!?! It makes no sense. Esp since they knew each other for like 5 minutes. And why does he even need a love interest???? What’s the point. Just let them be friends and develop their relationship. A friendship between them wouldn’t even be realistic at this point, much less love.

(transcripted convo)
i’m reposting a discussion i had w a terf. i previously posted screenshots but she messaged me and said she didn’t want her url or avatar displayed. editing the pics to post them again was hell so i’m posting a script instead (i learned my lesson tumblr: you suck). if anyone ends up finding the convo and thus the redacted speaker... idc. this is a public website and we technically had this convo in public - the notes of a post aren’t private spaces afaik. i’m posting this as proof that sometimes calmly reasoning with ppl lead to nothing. (i know anyone could say the same but lmao leave me alone.)
tw for transphobia/transmisogyny
[redacted] (speaking to a transmasc discourser about the "woman path"): Ok let me explain what I mean :) if your experience was totally different then thats fine :) im 24 and when I was little i was encouraged to play with dolls and learn 'motherly things' like playing with baby dolls while my brother played with toy trucks. There was a lot of pressure at school to wear dresses, and be sweet and polite. @[transmasc discourser] then of course, learning to deal with periods and the shame and taboo around them. Removing body hair because its considered unladylike. Etc
@[transmasc discourser] have you had none of those experiences?
neonbaebae: these are all common experiences for women bc of gender roles/stereotypes but none of that defines womanhood as an identity.
[redacted]: completely agree they are gender roles. But menstruation isnt a gender role. Its a frustrating part of being female. But that said, what IS womanhood then?
(rest under cut)
neonbaebae: menstruation is a biological function that is in no way exclusive to female bodies. remember intersex ppl, who come in all forms and shapes. women aren't all the same and it's likewise for men. there are intersex women who don't fit all the criteria for being "female" yet still identify as women. there is a distinction to make between womanhood as an experience and womanhood as an identity.
the woman experience is what you've described. the woman identity is feeling like one, e.g.: liking female-coded clothes, makeup, hairstyles, feeling comfortable in the societal role of being a woman. identity is essentially abt self perception most of the time
[redacted]: intersex is unique and I respect that not all womens bodies are the same. Intersexuality is complex but it doesnt represent the majority of biological women. I dont have a strong baclground in intersex knowledge so I'm certainly not gonna speak on behalf of intersex women. so if identity is self perception (which I completely agree with) how can a biological man self perceive his femaleness.if he's never experienced it?
neonbaebae: trans women never identify with being male and all in entails. and they can see, thru watching women counterparts and how they interact with the world around them, that they id more w the idea of womanhood and much less w the idea of manhood. it's esp why dysphoria often settles around puberty bc the dissonance manifests physically and that's harder to handle
[redacted]: but what youre talking about is what trans women see women do.  If thats what someone aspires to, its a very basic and narrow understanding of  what womanhood is. Its only what they see. And people are far more complex than this. Does a biological male aspire to periods stigma, beauty conformity and lesser social stance in the world? Or do they aspire to femininity? Something many biological women dont feel comfortable with
neonbaebae: womanhood as an identity is a feeling that is strengthened by a disconnection to manhood, its polar opposite. someone who completely rejects the idea of being man is likely to prefer being a woman (not always but likely!). many trans women do aspire to femininity and it has nothing to do with the cis women who are uncomfortable w it, just like there are many cis women who embrace it too.
many trans women cannot quite explain their transition in another way than "being a man felt wrong but being a woman feels right and authentic to my true self". i'd suggest to ask an actual trans woman for her pov tho since i'm not one, i'm just basing myself on what i've heard them say
[redacted]: but feeling disconnected with manhood (which is understandable and gender roles are frustrating) doesnt make someone the opposite of a man. As society we need to open our understanding of gender expression. But this isnt the same as thinking 'if I dont feel like a conventional man or connect with male social expectations, then I must be the opposite'. Theres no logic in that
we live in a world where gender stereotype binaries are considered natural, and people who dont fit this understandably feel marginalised. In fact Id argue to a greater or lesser degree, none of us truly fit the prescribed gender binary.
but i find it problematic when a man thinks they're a woman based on what they think 'woman' is.
neonbaebae: you're right in saying that a disconnection from manhood doesn't make someone a woman - a connection to womanhood does. it has v little to do with the upbringing of women which you seem to define thru misogyny and menstruation alone which is frankly a pessimistic view of womanhood. it's less not feeling like a conventional man and more not feeling like a man At All. tru it doesn't sound logical but gender is not logical it's abstract and complex
it seems problematic bc one might think men would gain smth from iding as women but stats show that trans women are at higher risk of assault for being out and open, both of bc of misogyny (not directly related to having a vagina or menstruating after all) & transphobia. it's esp telling that trans men aren't targeted as much. do you disagree w trans men as well?
[redacted]: but as a women i dont connect with womanhood. Lol i am a women. It would be nice to think we live in a world where women are equal, but that's not the world we live in. Womanhood is hard. And we do live under a patriarchal society that's cultivated female inferiority over many centuries. We're still negotiating freedoms today.
Its not about gaining or loss. Its about the male right to self define womanhood on their terms, without the biological or social conditioning. In fact, many have recieved MALE conditioning as children. This comes with its own privileges.
I think transmale is a very different experience so no I categorise them very differently to transwomen
neonbaebae: "as a woman" you say. even if the experiences and stereotypes don't fit you perfectly, even if you reject it, you still id as a woman. you feel like one and you suffer the consequences of being one. believe it or not trans women suffer from iding as a woman as well and thrice as harshly. i can provide sources if you want.
trans women don't think like men bc they feel like women. the thought patterns are different. they don't digest the social messages abt men bc their mind doesn't relate to it. male entitlement and all doesn't apply to them. and in sociology alone womanhood is often defined as more than a biological or upbringing thing. it's a social identity and trans women have a right to it if they don't id and reject manhood altogether
my question tho was do you think trans men aren't men either cus otherwise that'd be hypocritical
[redacted]: my point is its not an identity. Its a reality. Im a woman. I have xx chromosomes and the world treats me as such. Similar to my race. I dont identify as my race, i am treated as the world sees me.
male entitlement does apply. Statistically baby boys are fed for longer than baby girls. And little girls are left to cry for longer than baby boys. Little girls learn many motherly caretaker roles while many of their male counterparts are encouraged to conquer the world. Children are raised by gender. Even subconsciously. I can also provide sources :)
there are many more male leaders and men in authoritive positions in the world. Women fight very hard for the same respect, but womens voices are less valued. It takes no genius to see men have greater standing in the world
about transmen. No I dont consider them men but I'll respectfully use the pronouns anyone prefers, male or female. Its common decency.
I think society needs to get more comfortable with non confirmative gender expression
neonboobear: but it is an identity. that's why there's a distinction between sex (bio) and gender (identity & expression). if it would feel wrong for you to be called a man or nonbinary then that'd be bc you don't id as such. (also there are women with chromosomes other than xx maybe you should avoid phrasing it that way.) i id as my race but race has v different roots & impact than gender historically and it cannot be compared. let's stick with gender.
and i'm not denying gendered socialization but it doesn't shape a child more than their personal feelings on their identity, which can differ v early in life bc (some) would rather engage in activities associated with the opposite gender for example. if it were that simple trans ppl wouldn't go at lengths to "play the part"
you're right society does need to accept gender non conformance but that's v different from the trans experience. i rly think you should have a deep conversation with a trans person to try and see their pov
[redacted]: if womanhood is an identity, it totally invalidates what it means to be female. And yes its arguable that there're are women who arent xx but how about the majority of the population that are. Must we pander to the few at the expense of the majority? also what makes you assume I dont talk to trans people? Critique doesnt mean lack of empathy.
Children and gendered socialization is complex. Maybe if 'feminine' activities werent coded as female and just 'childhood play' we wouldnt have the same degree of dysphoria. It goes back to the irrational logic, 'if I like the pink toy section then I must be a girl.'
neonboobear: i'm afraid that is your pov for the ideology that womanhood is an experience but also an identity is considered a v valid theory in the science field. the fact that there are women with chromosomes other than xx is proof alone that xx chromosomes aren't what makes a woman. and i've suggested a deep conversation and an intention to Understand the Other. not just a talk. i said nothing abt empathy.
there would be less dysphoria but i'm sure it's still be there. many think the abolition of gender would solve everything but i doubt so
[redacted]: i have a close mtf friend and we have the debate constantly. We don't always agree with her but there's a lot more common ground then you might expect :) Gender roles damn us all. Hmmmm... abolition of gender is impossible but theres is a lot that can be done to challenge gender expectations. But not an easy battle! neonbaebae: i mean this with the least offense okay but i sincerely think neither of you should be friends. i’m black and i’d never befriend a racist. that’s a lack of self respect on her part and a plain lack of respect on yours.
i’d like to end this conversation here. i’ve said my point and i’d only repeat myself by continuing. and since i’m not a trans woman i don’t want to misinterpret them (so sorry if i’ve already did. trans girls feel free to bring up clarifications). might sound tedious but i strongly suggest you watch this 50-min long video essay by youtuber contrapoints. her vids are informative and entertaining and so v easy to digest despite the length. i’ve heard she’s not v liked in terf circles but it’s worth it to listen to what she has to say as a trans women.

i'm curious about radical feminism because i do agree with some of the things it offers, but i'm afraid to fully accept the bait since i do believe transwomen are women, transmen are men, ect. he reason i believe this is because transgender people have been documented in many nonwestern /european cultures (two-spirit, hijira, mahu, ect). (pt 1. sorry! when i tried to write more i wrote over the limit)
i've also met a transgirl irl & she was very sweet. i wanted to know about intersex people. should they be allowed to change their gender if they don't agree w/ the gender assigned at birth? what about the science stuff that says trans people have brains similar to their cis counterparts? btw this wasn't meant to be baity or negative at all, i truly do want to be informed. i'd love to know your thoughts on this esp radfems of different cultures, too! thanks so much
Hello anon! Let me start off with saying, I’m so happy that you’re asking questions. Asking us rather than blindly believing what other groups say about us is allll we ever ask for.
Now I’m going to break your question’s down into chunks for easy reading.
“...transgender people have been documented in many nonwestern /european cultures (two-spirit, hijira, mahu, ect)”
I have a few things to say to that. 1, just because nonwesterners practice it, doesn’t make it legitimate. Nonwesterners can hold harmful and negative beliefs just like westerners. 2, these people that you have listed...are complex. Transgenderism is a western concept. A extremely brand spanking new one at that. To compare a Hijra or Two Spirit is insulting and shows a lack of understanding and worldview. Essentially what you’re doing is lumping these vast, distinct and cultural identities and forcing them under the transgender umbrella to fit YOUR narrative.
“ i wanted to know about intersex people. should they be allowed to change their gender if they don't agree w/ the gender assigned at birth?“
Let me start this off by saying, I’m not intersex but this is what I have learned from their community. Intersex people already have a sex at birth, male or female. Just because they’re born with conditions that affect their outward presentation and inner health doesn’t mean they’re some nebulous third sex. From what I understand, what intersex people really want is for the medical community to stop trying to mold them into something their body is not. Stop surgically creating artificial genitals if they were born without them or with ones that society wouldn’t deem pleasing. Stop removing sexual organs that were fine where they were and were at no risk to them. Stuff like that. If an intersex person wants to transition, that’s up to them, but I don’t think thats a main concern for the intersex community at the moment.
“what about the science stuff that says trans people have brains similar to their cis counterparts?“
This has been proven false. The Zhou studies have been found to not follow a good experimental style. A small group of transwomen were used (sample size is crucial in experiments) and said TW were on hormones for years. So whatever similarity was found was artificial and not something they were born with. It’s also false because brain sex is continually proven to not exist. Here are some links to that.

Female Animal Character Design in America/The West (and How Profoundly Sexist and Boring it is)
Tumblr media
Okay, so, I love animation, as you know. I’ve seen a lot of animated movies and shows in my time, especially featuring animal characters. Yet, they don’t give me the same spark that I used to have for them. If anything, by middle school, my “tomboyish” (read: baby-butch, gender non-conforming) self was tired to death of experiencing them in a lot of ways. I couldn’t put my finger on it, until much later. I realized that they were often trite, male-dominated (excluding the inevitable love interest), and, ultimately, much less untethered in human social mores than I initially thought. And as someone who was (is) probably more into animals due to them being cool and tough and uncontained regardless of sex, it was very disappointing to see that, even in movies made to be an escapist fantasy, the girl animals were often frightened, frail, conceited, delicate and coquettish just like in other media.
What’s more, they also all had the same “look” and didn’t offer much for cool character design at all.
They still don’t.
This is a comprehensive list of all the attributes that female characters physically display. Oftentimes, lady animal characters are just hodgepodges of 3 or 4 (sometimes more!) of like 20 different traits.
Please note that girl animals that are love interests tend to follow MORE of these tropes than side characters do, 5 or higher. Think about Sarabi from The Lion King compared to Nala. Since Nala was supposed to be the love interest, she had to be the “prettiest” in the cast (for some ungodly reason), while Sarabi, a mother, looked less striking.
[Abbreviations commonly used: TMC (than male counterparts), MMV (mileage may vary; maybe up to interpetation based on the situation at hand)]
Breast Bump, even on creatures that don’t have breasts at all
(Comparatively) long hair on head or the implication thereof
Imbalanced anthropomorphism (more human-like/has more human features for females tmc)
Building off the previous point, female characters have more clothes/are fully clothed tmc (including accessories such as necklaces or bows)
Softened facial exaggeration (in animation and/or design) to emphasize prettiness
“Defanged”/”Declawed” to seem less scary; that is to say, they have less or fewer sharp claws and teeth (or natural weaponry in general) tmc
Whiter scleras and teeth tmc
Smaller hands/feet/paws/talons/etc tmc
Implication of being “smoother” tmc
Rounder features/bodies tmc
Main coloration is something blonde-ish/light colored, sometimes a ruddy color (almost NEVER dark, esp darker tmc)
Has blue, sometimes green or, rarely, grey eyes (almost NEVER brown or black, ESPECIALLY if males have brown or black eyes. If they are brown, they are a brown lighter tmc)
Pink and blue dichotomy between female and male characters, resp
DRAMATICALLY smaller and/or skinnier tmc
Smaller mouth, smaller nose, smaller snout/probiscis/beak/etc tmc
COMPLETELY different skull/skeleton shape tmc
Makeup or impossibly impeccable grooming implied in natural fur/feather/scale/skin pattern (this INCLUDES mascara/long lashes and tweezed or drawn-on eyebrows)
Bigger eyes tmc
BONUS SPECIAL: ACTUAL animal dimorphism being done accurately, but played for laughs (usually at the expense of a smaller, male animal)
*passes #20 back to you*
One example here, with the tropes pointed out:
The Lion King, Simba and Nala
Tumblr media
[#6 (whiskers), #9, #11, #12, #15, #17]
More examples of this under the cut, if you don’t believe me!
Balto, Steele and Jenna
Tumblr media
[#4 (MMV), #5, #6 (take my word for it, her feet and teeth are tiny compared tmc), #8, #11, 14, #15, #16, #18]
Ice Age franchise, literally any of the mates of the cast
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[#1, #2, #5, #6, #8, #9, #10, #11, #12, #16, #17, #18, not 100% sure if there are more b/c i tapped out of Ice Age after the 3rd and I didn’t even really paid attention to that one]
How to Train Your Dragon 3, Toothless and “Light-Fury” (esp disappointed here since the female dragons before this one are all vicious and scaly, especially Meatlug) (may also change this entry when I see the movie)
Tumblr media
[#5, #6, #8, #9, #10, #11, #12, #15, #18]
Lilo and Stitch: The Series (Stitch and Angel)
Tumblr media
[#1, #2, #6, #7, #9, #12, #13, #15, #17]
The Aristocats, Duchess and Thomas
Tumblr media
[#2 (long hair on tail), #5, #11, #12, #15, #17, #18]
Flushed Away, Roddy and Rita
Tumblr media
[#1, #2, #11 (i mean her read hair), #12] (seems British Animation, at least in this case, uses less of these tropes! Also Rita’s pretty spunky, and the grittier of the two.)
Oliver & Company, Rita and Dodger, Georgette and Tito
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[#2, SUBVERSION of #5 (seriously Georgette makes some BEAUTIFULLY extreme expressions), #6, #11 (though Rita subverts this), SUBVERSION of #14, #15, #17, #18, #19] (Have to give credit where it’s due, this movie undermined some of the garbage gender essentialism, but older movies rely less on these tropes since they’re not as well-established)
I could add much more, honestly. The list of movies that make tired stereotypes of girl animals stretches almost as long as the complete list of animated animal movies.
You’re free to add more in the reblogs, if you’d like! The more examples of this trend, the better, since I already know that there are people calling bull reading this, and the sheer numbers of examples that exists will make it harder to argue against.
Maybe in another installment, I can talk about how each of these tropes promotes something ridiculous and sexist, but for now, I’m sure that my argument about how trite female animal characters are has been proven well enough.

Oh! I wanna hear your hyper critical opinions towards p3 (and p4 if youre up to it). I am genuinely curious as to what it is!
pDSOAPFADFJIOA;FJIA;JF;DA Ahhhhhhh if only I wrote down everything I said (I did this over a year ago). under the cut cause long:
It was easier cause I was ripping it as we played and I had some nitpicks in the dialogue (more so with like “WAIT THAT MAKES NO SENSE!” or “WHY ARE YOU JUMPING TO THAT CONCLUSION?!” kinda thing rather than a translation error). But I can’t really specify what it was cause it was so long ago. The only one that comes to mind is when they’re jerks to Naoto, it must be how she’s talking in Japan cause like.......they’re really, REALLY rude to her. Like, they do realize she has a right to be suspicious of them right? Like, don’t get me wrong, I loooooooove the animosity in some way (great foe-yay/rival shipping yay fodder for me to ship her with the MC ahuhuhu 8U) but dang I wish they made more tension (and made it even). That’s actually the one thing I thought the P4 anime did right (and trust me I don’t think that anime did a lot of things right, esp concerning Naoto...ironically XD), they really built the tension between her and the group very well. Anyway I want to go into more detail some other time, maybe when I replay the two games, but for now I’ll give you a general overview).
Ok so all and all I think P3 and P4 are fine the way they are. They did a good job with them. P3 for being Hashino’s first hoorah into the series (also didn’t have enough time or money to include everything and had to cut stuff, LIKE THE FEMC! ;W;), and P4 for.....having such....a small.....budget....and....not a lot of time....and.....the company was struggling.....Like dang man I’m surprised we got P4. So like, compared to P5, I’m a lot easier on these two cause in one case Hashino was trying to find his style, and the other he was struggling with working with almost nothing (P5, however, didn’t have any of these issues).
Ok so like.....My biggest issue with P3 is mostly it’s characters and character relationships. P4.....I wish we could’ve hung out with Naoto earlier (even before she joined the team, that would’ve been interesting if the MC and her met up and attempted to draw more info out of each other about the case), and I wouldn’t have minded if they added more to the murder plot.
P3....ngl the first act until Aigis show’s up is.....so....slow.....and boring....and no one is really likeable imo. I hated Yukari, I hated Junpei. Mitsuru seemed interesting but she wouldn’t hang out. Akihiko....didn’t really care for him, but I couldn’t  hang out with him. I couldn’t hang out with Yukari or Junpei if I wanted to (Yukari won’t hang out till around Aigis joins anyway, I remember from my last playthrough we tried, it was an NG+ and she snubbed us). Kenji is a moron (don’t hate him, feel bad for him, but god so boring), Kaz is a moron, didn’t do Yuko the first time (should’ve I did like her, hate I only got the first rank the first time I ever played through P3), I didn’t like Chihiro (she started off fine but was kinda creepy later on), can’t hang with Fuuka unless you have maxed courage cause eff me (not like I can ever remember her gd link anyways that’s how forgettable it is, I don’t even like Yukari but at least I remember her’s). Basically......the SL sucked balls. Major balls (I liked Maiko, the Star dude, the old couple, the Hermit, and the Devil......I guess the Tower too he was ok, and....that’s it....for outside teammate links aka Aigis and Mitsuru). Silly was not a happy camper when she popped P3 in after having fun with P4 (and esp after being told P3 was a GAZZILLION TIMES BETTER!!!!1!), tbh I took like a 4 month break from P3 and replayed P4 before I picked P3 back up (after Aigis showed up I def enjoyed it a heck of a lot more after that). Now, P3′s plot is really good and very solid, it’s P3′s strong point. My issue is that.....everything P3 does is for the sake of the plot. It does it well, don’t get me wrong, but everything about the characters is only happening cause “plot demands it.” They never felt super fleshed out, and it’s probably why they feel a little odd (maybe even flat-ish) in the spinoff games (even more so than the P4 team), cause the spinoff games aren’t relying on their (P3′s) plot. I also don’t buy a lot of their friendships (esp the males teammates with the Male MC), Yukari and Mitsuru’s is....ok (I don’t like how the game makes it feel like “oh you have a dead dad? me too! let’s be friends” as a thing, I know she’s just trying to relate and sympathize but.....I’ve seen that as a complaint come up by a lot of people, for someone so popular Yukari isn’t much of a people person in this regard, from how the game frames it that is). Also the fact you can’t friend girls. There’s not a lot of bonding moments in the game, there’s more than P5, but I still don’t feel as close to the team as I should even by the end. And gawd, Ryoji? Wut I’m friends with him now? How? When? I like the guy but I don’t think he likes me. You’d think he’d want to hang out with me cause.....PHAROS! ;W;
There’s more but I don’t want to leave you hanging, but anyway it’s just....I have a lot of issues with how the characters are handled. They’re good characters, I wish there just....more to them. But the thing is.....THIS IS AN EASY FIX! You’ve probably heard me say about the P5 manga/anime “a change in medium can do wonders” or something like that. That’s cause I have P3 to look at. The manga and movies do wonders for P3 my problems with P3. There’s more bonding, character relationships are improved yadda yadda. Yes there are issues within the manga and movies themselves...... but they do a lot of good things too. One of the things the movies did was actually......influenced by it’s P3P remake (aka establish a relationship with Ryoji, yay!). Oh man, P3P/the FeMC fixed sooooooooooooo many problems (it also added some even more awesome duality to a game that already had a lot of duality going on with it), I can talk to Yukari and Junpei from the get go (and they treat me different, and more pleasantly than when I played as the dude), I can actually hang out with the guys (and I DON’T automatically have to date them, in fact I have to work to date them, every single one), the stats for character requirements are laid out more fairly like in P4 so by the time someone is available I can probably talk to them (without having to kill myself trying to manage my social stats). But man, the first act just flows so much better when you’re able to bond with your teammates (also Rio and Saori are great SLs!). Even tho they don’t change the female SLs pretty much at all (making it veeeery gay XD), it does feel like it is at least a friendship by the end (even tho I’m literally dating everyone and you can’t tell me otherwise! 8U). I also love her personality comes across more clearing (and varied) than the males, there’s a more clear progression of her psyche than her male counterpart (it’s still there, just not as obvious, and I love how they’re inverted to each other~! :D). It’s just, with P3, the really minor changes go a LOOOOOOOOOOONG way. The only thing I would change with P3 is the minor stuff. Just add more scenes (that don’t take up time) to the game, on both sides. Gameplay wise add more SLs, alternative SLs even. Heck, if they remade the game, I think being able to go to new places would be cool (and it’d be where you’d meet your new SLs) cause man you’re in a city, you deserve to do more stuff! It’s just the little things man, the little things can make a big impact! It says something that probably my fav Persona fanfic and fav Strain42 Persona parody comicis the P3(P) ones, even tho P4 is my fav game. You change a few things around, even the medium, and it makes a difference.
Ok onto P4. Now P4 is the opposite of P3, with P4 it’s strong point is it’s characters. The characters drive P4. P4 is character based, P3 is plot based. P4 the plot takes a back seat. This is fine, it works in P4′s favor, like how the plot worked in P3′s favor. P4′s plot is ok, it does a great job with supporting the characters. Sadly I understand if you wanted more murder mystery (or just mystery) in a murder mystery game. And in P4′s defense, again, it had a barebones budget and not a lot of time and the company was doing pretty bad and P4 still came out pretty great (was the most popular before P5 came out, lord knows if it may even come out on top again if it gets an updated graphics/gameplay remake). And it’s also really hard to keep a murder mystery going for about 70-100ish hours (and only finally solving it in the last 1/5 of the game). Also P4, like P3 (forgot to mention that above), sticks to it’s theme really well. Even making it solving it/obtaining the good ending routes semi-difficult. Sure you can deduce Adachi, but tbh it’s also difficult. They do a pretty decent job building the guy up as a friend (even more so in P4G due to the SL). Izanami is also well hidden. The game makes you work and it rewards you.
Now if I were to change stuff.....it’d range from minor to major depending on what we’re talking about. Minor would be adding more scenes of Naoto bonding (she needs it cause the late game doesn’t do her justice), and like I mentioned above, I think have a deduction off would be interesting (Naoto’s SL was one of my favs cause of how we solved a gd mystery, god I’m so mad that never made it into the anime, even as an ova, it could’ve been a great team-building filler one too). Another thing I’d add would maybe be.....something similar to quests, but instead you have to solve a mystery (which means talking to people, and investigating areas), it can range from finding a cat in a tree or finding a bully or whatever. Just something minor that can give the mystery lovers something fun to do. I’d also have Izanami/gas station attendant be an SL (she originally was the Empress before giving that to Margret). Oh I’d also like to take Margret out on “dates” (c’mon gimme dem fun shenanigans).  And.....now this can be minor or major (depending on what they do, but it’s probably more major), add another red herring. I don’t care how.....but....it would help draw attention away from Adachi. Maybe they’re added from some of the mini mysteries you solved, maybe they squeeze an extra dungeon into the game some how-some way (doubt it for the later, that’d be a major change), but another red herring would be good.
For a Major change it’d be restructuring the plot a looooooot, adding more dungeons for more red herrings. I would actually make Dojima a red herring. He originally was suppose to be the killer (but they thought that was too dark, understandable), with Adachi as the red herring instead. Other than that I’m not exactly sure how they’d overhaul that. I mean, if they made a P4 game based off of P3P’s route (aka different route/game, different killer), I’d like to see their prototype stuff play out. Short-haired ice queen Yukiko, delinquent/bully Rise, Pretty boy Naoto (actual boy this time, also make him dateable.....what? I like Naoto 8U), 1st year MC, Female Teddie, Adult(?) Kanji, Dojima as the killer, Adachi as the red herring (Chie and Yosuke are actually pretty much the same). I’d really like to see that.
But tbh, I don’t really know where to start in giving P4 a major overhaul (except to go with the prototype set up), possibly cause it’d mean introducing/creating new characters. But P5? I do, oh man I know where I would start (P5 is where I’d make my major changes left and right, no minor changes here...except maybe dungeon 1), I’d make soooooo many changes to P5. But that’s for another time (not now, it’d take too long). 8U

oc ramble
this not that much oc detail as it does personal detail but i mean fuck it same thing
___humanz
my oc wil looks a lot like a youtuber i watch and i only just realized that no matter how many changes i implement they’re always going to be that “you copied this character” character. fuck it. they dont have that lil M hair split (you know the one) and also made less fucking white like geez what the fuck was up. still working on face because of first sentence but cant bring myself to do anything drastic. the “main” self insert
pox on the other hand has to deal with “first created to be a self insert to someone elses comic and thats why there so out of place compared to the rest and you’re just making excuses to keep them in your own story” character. made them the drunk to think i could forget and feel good if i THOUGHT ABOUT IT REAL HARd like i’d then be drunk im pretty sure every pre teen has done this. keep in mind im actually afraid of what drugs might do to me personally cause i have 0 self control and tend to think way too negatively ie think id actually gone done did it before the brain could tell me to fucking not. pink boy.
bailey is one of those excuses to explain why pox is there. kinda dealing with her own life in my sort of idealized view. knew a lot of shit but couldnt find words to make her smart so she just kinda looks the part i guess. i love her face tho. from her you notice i start to color code these characters like some Stuart little movie. kaffee kathy
sarah never really got fleshed out. bailey took over. to be fair sarah was kinda boring cause i was still in the mindset that i couldnt make a main character gay but because i am the main character and also became gay it just worked itself around out of that rabbit hole. she would be a antagonist really and be my selective self and try to convince myself my friends would stay even if i was a bit distant but lmao didnt work!! also didn’t prove myself i was straight either. two stones. pigeion gal
forget the last dudes name. think i based em around what i learned about amputees from the ww1 unit. boring. they were originally going to be the love interest for pox but looked bad in my style at the time and so i never drew them again. dont think i gave them any interest other than “I AM EDGE” vibe. also associated with a wolf?? bad boy
__weird ones
chugs was based on a dream that i had where wil (me) was just sorta on a train that had spheres of houses and i had to figure out ghost stories. it was really vivid and i wanted to make those characters so i did. holds a lot of memories and really what i focused on because going through a real life is super boring. took a lot of my high school kms idealization off me for thinking it would be end of the world if i did it. kinda bad when i say it like that, but it also got me thinking i had more friends than what i did. originally was male, but now nonbinary that associates male cause it makes it easier for others to understand her. judge came later as i finally got insp from fucking bayoding balls of all things to associate her to tranquility. shes kinda between all things, living/dead, positive/negative and never really decides for themselves cause its not decided by the balance of fate. a great hugger and powerful enemy
kind has always been a fuckin slender clone cause in high school the thought of a evil watching over me was scary and the thought of captial g God watching was never really my thing esp after what i expected vs what i got but i guess that fits them best cause they are that shitty in between cream of corn. in turn they sorta started my mindset bout the revenant thing. after i got a hang of the presenting gender thing i put a lot of thought into what “souls” would look like. how you feel over how you look cause i didnt want strictly humanoid characters but just enough to associate back to the living. if you notice i always draw him as a sharp swiss cheese person in a fluffy puffy shirt and i think that defines them well. candle supplier
milli is ironically one of my most original characters despite being 99% tube and hair lines but still based on the horrible experiences i have every valentines with three dif guys i couldnt decide feelings with so for that alone it doesnt get a free pass. also based on fear of what happens in those relationships whether physical or mental and god i just put every possible bad thought onto it. fuck it. also based off milipedes which creep me the fuck out and want me to remove my feet. classic white face in darkness jump scare.
memo is literally just old person who gives you the world changing quest. basically useless but also deals with a lot of my thoughts of how to deal with death and being forgotten but not really?
pawn created only because i made a cute design thinking of ren fairs in town. also got into making characters look goopy so thats what they became. and dreams where i would get lost and die at carnivals because i couldn't find my parents. little too literal. also had a “mom” that was literally a giant pawn. like in chess. original. would send them out to fight.
peobe was just created to be the counter part. really no other story than pawns gotta fight fuckin something. tried for a kajui twist story but never bothered to get into who could see what in the living world.
shame is epitome of lazy and focused design. so many fucking hours deciding where the mirror pieces will be placed over a loose shadow body. had a cat counterpart called empathy, also boring. now im sorta mulling over whether they should have a counterpart or not cause their creation was created on accident.
blight created by memo to try to figure out why any fuckin one of them is here. sorta side chaotic neutral character that might go over to evil. only speaks in rhymes but not metaphores cause thats boring and way too much writing for me to pay attention to. inspired by my intense desire to eat the test tubes whenever i thought that i was never gonna make it in science as a career cause really, i was fucking sad. still think about eating glass tho but at least its not readily available so w/e. still think im an idiot most of the time and i think of this character. judge would not like them, pity most likely. literally test tube baby i mean look at them.
thats all i can think of for now in this particular universe k bye
