Beavertown Gamma Ray American Pale Ale (Picked up at a Waitrose in London). A 3 of 4. Definitely sets itself apart from UK pale ales with the relatively prominent orange citrus, tropical fruit, and faint vegetal hop notes. The body is light to medium and has quite large carbonation. Drinks easily, and few complaints here.

DESCRIPTION
The Exigency normally is a towering green and black robot with a body similar to a centaur's. It has two bladed horns sticking out of its head, clawed hands, and two holes in the palms of its hands.
The holes can be used to shoot out fire or radiation and lift various metal objects using magnets.
Its head is shaped like a gas mask with its avatar painted on in various spots. Its stomach is hollow and has a large hole in allowing people to reach in. The hollow stomach can be used to synthesise various elements and objects, for example, nuclear weapons.
Its chest has two large doors. Upon being opened, it reveals a plutonium core similar to the Demon Core. It has two hemispheres of beryllium which can be closed to destructive effect.
BROKEN FORM
In its broken form it is missing its right arm, instead having the arms of several other Contingencies welded onto it, with arms welded to its sides, back, and stomach. It wields a large spear using three Contingency arms near where its right arm used to be. The wound where the arm is missing from has been welded closed.
It has four extra legs attached to its lower body, resulting in a spiderlike appearance.
The various Contingency arms come from varying types of Contingencies, as Genny's variety wasn't the first to be made. Just the first that didn't get scrapped. Probably because Gabriel stole it. Only a few of the Exigency's arms are from Plus Minus Contingencies.
The spear is several Contingency arms welded together, with a sword arm at the end.

Friday, January 5: Gamma Ray, "Fight"
Majestic was where Gamma Ray suddenly lost steam, for reasons nobody could really explain because everything was fine just one album earlier.  “Fight” was a good track and a logical continuation of No World Order! and Powerplant, working a steady groove from Dan Zimmermann but remaining resolutely power metal with gang vocals in the chorus and melodic leads throughout.  The lyrical concepts and vocal melodies were right in Kai Hansen’s sweet spots and wheelhouse, and the leads from Kai and Henjo Richter were smooth and thoughtful.  This was just the second track on Majestic, so things didn’t feel stale yet, but perhaps “Fight” packed in too much (including a choral interlude) in just three and a half minutes, so in some ways it began to show the strains in Gamma Ray’s approach.  Nonetheless, it remained an early highlight on a record that soon turned rote.

it’s been a while like always, since i’ve been on here tbh but felt like sharing these last.fm playback of 2023, idk.
general:
obviously, blind guardian takes first place 🩵
though, i find it weird that heavy load (sweden) didn’t make it on my top 5 artists but their track “take me away” did make it to the top 5 tracks.
as for children of bodom…i’m very surprised that they remain 2nd even if i haven’t been listening to them a whole lot recently…but i still have lots of love for them.
