Wayhaven Chronicles Book 3 interrogation scene:
RP as myself, intimidating, knowledge, mind: nailed it, don't know how exactly anymore, the guy BROKE 🤡🤡🤡
RP as a character with high charming and psychology as main stat: somehow I choose the wrong things and failed even with the requirements usually clear in the writing?????????? 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
(If anyone has a guide/pointers for this scene, I would appreciate. Will try it for a third time now lol)
(Edit: I managed now but I'm really confused at which stats were used in the first choice 😂😂😂😂)

Genshin Impact: The Overworked God
Summary: In which one of the lore writers who help write the world of Genshin Impact was suddenly thrusted in the very world they created. He doesn't know how this happened and the way home seemed like a pipe dream.
Well, testing characters is one thing, but playing God?
Oh boy.
Note: SAGAU if you squint but not really. Mainly fluff and healing mainly between a tired worker and the oldest Archon.
Male OC!
Warning: Genshin themes with mentions of war, and death. And OC needs some rest.
Tumblr media
"Good morning, your Grace."
"5 more minutes..?"
"You are the Creator."
It took approximately one hard pinch to the elbow and 55 seconds later that Kai decided (albeit begrudgingly) that this was his reality.
Always negotiate the terms and pay for any job.
Payment is obviously going back home, but also monetary compensation, enough to retire early as a billionaire. And maybe a nice villa. Or bed.
Until Kai goes home, he might as well get an easier life here.
Which clearly did not go as intended.
"I will not be the babysitter for any Archon." Kai already has countries to run, royal families to manage, and human relationships are ever so complicated. He doesn't have the time nor desire to babysit gods for goodness sake.
And besides, the 7 Archons comes so much later in time!
He's a game writer, not a politician or babysitter! It's only because he played kingdom simulation games before and read too many fictional works that he could figure things out.
Celestia is supposed to be his assistant since he's the Creator, but isn't he working too hard!? At this point, he's gonna retire early!
"But your Grace, you cannot manage the world yourself. Archons can help manage them for you!"
Yes, Celestia gave up in speaking in elegant and ambiguous ways after their first negotiation session.
Kai thought about it for a bit before agreeing, anything that spelled less work for him, he'll take it!
"But, I'm not going to be a babysitter!"
Archon war?
Stop making me do more work!
What happened? It was peaceful for such a long time!
Was it because there were too many gods or powerful creatures? Damn Celestia, you're supposed to keep it under control!
Kai has a migraine everyday, so this wasn't surprising, but did the gods have to fight each other, just so only 7 left?!
Celestia!
"It must be done your Grace! Isn't this what you and your team wrote?"
"Well I changed my mind."
"Your Grace! If you go out there now, they will use you and your powers!"
"But I can't watch people die just because some stupid god or creature that wants power!"
Celestia remained silent at his outburst.
"Tempus. It's too late, it had already begun."
"Celestia!"
"Everything is your will after all. You wrote the story, didn't you?"
It was then did Kai realize that Celestia didn't follow him, but rather the words and designs set by his team in the real world.
Celestia is like an AI robot, one that only acts in accordance to the wishes of it's Creator.
But isn't he the Creator right now?! Does this mean he needs more power to be recognized, or overthrow the set system?
Kai stomped out in fury and for the first time, not as Kai, but the God of Time and Creation.
Tempus.
Tempus never thought he would play God, but here he is, relying on his godly powers to save what's left of his creation.
"Tempus."
Kai sent his final message to his country's royal family before turning to greet the rude guest.
"Morax." One of the 7 victors of war, a newly appointed Archon, entered without announcing anything beforehand and immediately strides towards Kai.
When Morax stops in front of him, there's an awkward silence between them, and Kai knows this man is waiting for something.
"No." But Kai declines. He's got why too much things to deal with and he's not going to do something he's done too many times.
"Guizhong is dead." Kai frowns, ah, of course.
"Please." Morax pleads, and Kai is put at odds when seeing the Lord of Geo so weak, so desperate.
"Morax. You know I cannot."
"Kai." He almost hisses, and Kai could care less.
"I'll do anything to bring everyone back."
"They will die no matter what."
Because I wrote it.
"Shut up!" Kai does not flinch when the God of Contracts claws at him. He simply stares into those golden eyes of fury and desperation.
"Turn back time! Do it!" The entire world quakes at his call, and Tempus is stuck.
Stuck between pity and reality.
"If I do, what will you do? What can you do?" Tempus responds, tired of this entire show. He groans when he felt strong claws around his neck.
"I'll save Guizhong! I'll stop the Archon war!"
"You'll only suffer and regret." Like him.
"I will not." The resolve in his voice is undeniable.
"If only you had been there with me then Guizhong-"
"Will die. If not by the war, then by her people."
"What?" Morax freezes, and Kai could hear the bitter realization hit him.
"If not by her people, then by fate. If not by fate, then by Celestia, by YOU! You of all people know even Gods die, Morax. It's a war." Kai is sick of it.
Tempus tried everything, but he is a powerless, useless god against his own pen in his home world.
Morax inhales, then exhales.
"Do it. Turn back time."
Tempus sighs, a distant memory of a determined, hard-working, and adorable adepti resurfaced in his mind.
He remembers laughing and writing Zhongli's character-
"One chance." Then the Lord of Geo lets go and bows.
"Thank you." Tempus puts a hand on Morax's bloodied shoulder and closes his eyes.
This conversation turns into one of the past.
The Archon war occurs, and Tempus watches Morax fail.
If he prevents one red flag, another arises.
Everything repeats, like a never-ending cycle of torture.
"Morax."
"Tempus." The God of Time stops behind his sitting figure in front of Guizhong and many of his colleagues' graves.
Tempus puts a glazed lily on each of the graves and offers his own condolences.
"Morax. It's over now. Return."
"And where would I return?" Tempus holds out his hand.
"Then, come with me."
Morax accepted and followed.
For some reason, Morax holds onto his hand like his lifeline, and Tempus allows him.
Just like that, the two Gods made their way to Temporium, a land where time moves differently than in the rest of the world.
Temporium is a wonderful nation.
Old as time, this country is the first nation Tempus raised from the ground. It is also the country that he chose to call "home".
The royal family is the one that manages the country and Tempus is merely a guide and protector, helping them navigate the dangers of the past and the future.
His protective shield around this land slows down or speeds up time within the shield, creating a safe haven that is immune to any outside influences.
Kai wants to make this country similar to his real home.
Before he was thrown into this madness.
Tempus leads Morax into a transparent dome known as a green house and stops.
"Morax. Time is limited. So cherish it."
Surrounded by flowers and greenery, there stood a woman with a gentle smile.
"Morax?"
Tempus watches them reunite and thinks that losing sleep is worth it.
Looking up into the skies, Tempus thinks that since he was able to change fate, just slightly, it means Tempus is stronger, but not enough.
Celestia is wavering.
But he's too late.
Too many died, and too many suffered due to his hand. He can't just turn back time, for he will also revert to the past "him".
Nevertheless, Tempus swore to change the plot, and maybe, just maybe, end this never-ending madness.
Seeing as to how Morax and Guizhong are fine, Tempus disappears and reappears under a cherry blossom tree.
There was another person he saved, a sister and leader to many. There, two sisters cried in each other’s arms like no tomorrow.
Tempus watches solemnly, and repeats the same disappearing and reappearing, many times.
Tempus shouldn't be at this tea party.
"Morax. Let's rebuild Liyue."
"Guizhong. They betrayed you." Morax clearly looks like he was withholding his rage.
"I know." Guizhong acknowledges, but isn't afraid.
"But even so, I understand their reasons. To protect their land from an unwanted war."
Her kindness knows no bounds. Truly, no one deserves her.
"Thus Morax, this time, we will rebuild Liyue with the adepti, and we will stand together. As always."
"Guizhong. I...cannot afford to lose you again." She smiles wistfully, and then looks at Tempus.
"I too am afraid of disappearing, and without Tempus, perhaps I would have perished. It was he who saved me and led me to his realm to heal. For that, thank you."
Morax too bows in gratitude.
"I apologize that I cannot save everyone."
"That would be too much to ask from you, Tempus. For you are not an omnipotent, omniscient or omnipresent God."
For the first time, Tempus feels slightly relieved at someone's words.
"I'm sure you did your best and already changed so many people’s lives."
Huh. A soft smile blooms on his face and the two seemed surprised.
Truly, no one deserves her.
Eventually they leave, and Tempus, sends them off peacefully, wishing them the best.
Then, Liyue is built once again.
This time, they build the foundation and protect the city together.
But again, even the gods cannot go against time.
When Guizhong dies, she dies as she scatters her wisdom all over Liyue, to her people, to her country and to her loved ones.
This time, she dies without regrets.
This time, she dies because Celestia told her it was time.
There was no forewarning, but it looked like she knew.
She spent the last of her time with Morax and Tempus before she fades and flutters away like dust.
Again, Morax receives a stone dumbbell, challenging him to unlock.
But this time, there was one thing that changed.
"Morax, I hope you can befriend Tempus. He's the oldest of all gods, the one who has drifted the longest among all. Yet, he is perhaps the one that is the loneliest and wisest, or perhaps that is why he acts the way he acts." She says after she gives him her dumbbell.
"If I have one regret, it would be that I have never gained his trust."
"Guizhong, that's impossible-"
"Morax, he has never shown us more than courtesy and kindness. Maybe I am greedy, but I want to become a friend to all." She smiles.
"That is why, I hope you can be his friend in place of I."
"Of course. By your gift, I pledge to fulfill your will." Morax holds her hand as she disintegrates.
"Thank you Morax. I hope only happiness and prosperity follow you."
Like dust, they slip through his fingers and disappear.
Like all of his comrades, friends, and loved ones.
And Tempus could only watch from the distance like a powerless God he is.
"The loneliest and wisest huh..."
He could only laugh bitterly.
"Tempus."
"Morax." The god replies with a low hum, "What brings you here?"
"I want to give you my gratitude."
"No need." Tempus does not turn to greet him, but simply continues to write. Morax watches him write with a mysterious utensil, a pen.
Tempus truly is worthy of being called a genius amongst geniuses.
A god who built a country, and protected his realm despite the Archon War, and survived. No wonder he is heavily respected and worshiped by his people.
"Teach me."
The god stops.
"What are you talking about?"
"Teach me how to build Liyue."
"It's already built."
"How to govern as a God." Without Guizhong and his friends, Morax is incapable of running a country. His hands were made to fight and seal monsters, not to care for people.
"You do not need to govern a country. Barbatos-"
"He's a fool." Morax heard a muffled laugh.
"But his country is still functioning quite well isn't it?" Tempus turns around, his azure eyes meets his golden ones.
"Tempus."
"What will I get in return? God of Contracts?" Tempus smiles before he stands.
"What do you need?"
"Trade." Morax blinks.
"Free trade amongst civilians. No taxes or barriers." Morax doesn't quite understand his terms, but he's willing to learn.
"I accept."
"You don't even know what I said didn't you?" Tempus crosses his arms and shook his head.
"I believe you are a fair person and one who will teach me what I need to know.”
“Just like old times isn’t it?”
This was Morax's first contract, and certainly won't be the last.
Time passes quickly, and soon, Morax and Barbatos become the two of the original seven left.
Despite this, Tempus does his job as both a Creator and babysitter job well.
He ensures Gods fulfill their duty and if they need help, they can seek him out. If Tempus ever saw something worth his time (which is like...every time), he too would interfere, gaining the Archons' favour.
He realized the power of the butterfly effect. From saving Gods such as Guizhong and Makoto, even with what little power he had during the Archon War to extend their life, it played an immense part in changing the Archons themselves.
Again, too much work, and too little time.
Even if he slows down time, he could never get enough sleep.
It's also blatantly obviously the Archons are treating him too well, but he originally thought it made sense with all the effort he put in to change the plot.
But their affectionate gestures increased after they found of he was the Creator.
Tempus really shouldn't have told Morax this a while back and allowed him to tell the other Archons. Luckily, he prevented them from telling anyone else under the pretense that it was his order.
Even so, Kai finally feels a little more at ease. He could finally get some sleep.
Could he really complain about the children (Archons) when they gave him the most premium material to sleep on?
Or hear a private concert from a certain bard?
Or try out the best food in the jungles?
Or let him sleep under the giant cherry blossoms whenever he wants?
Or take him out to a hot springs in Liyue?
"Kai. How are you feeling?" Zhongli asks from behind him, who is washing his long, long hair.
"Good...Thanks...Zhongli."
Kai can finally relax a bit and it’s well deserved. Taking care of kids is hard. Much less 7 at once.
At least they’re paying him back with interest.
Zhongli couldn't help but smile proudly when the sleepless God fell asleep in his domain.
He'd be sure to brag about this at their next Archon meeting.
Not knowing it would be their last.

How do you think Daniel would realise he had the fire gift, if he ever develops it?
Since I imagine him returning to writing at some point, I think there is a distinct possibility that writer's block or some similar frustration could lead to the paper or computer just bursting into flames 🔥 (thankfully anywhere he stays has a very robust fire suppression system, but now everything is wet 😥)
Oh my god, I am so glad you asked. this!
First, like.. Marius discovering he has the Fire Gift is PEAK COMEDY. You all probably know but in case you forgot this amazing moment, basically Marius is being set upon by two immortals, and he reaches for a lantern hoping to burn them, and then as he's wishing he could set them on fire, one of them bursts into flame! And Marius stares horror-struck, realizing that he made that happen with his mind.
Like, just imagine you don't even know that's possible and suddenly you've set someone on fire with the power of your desire to do so. Incredible!
But I digress.
Our boy Daniel will hopefully get the Fire Gift! Because damn that would save on lighters. And how cool would he feel if he could spark a flame on his finger and light a cigarette that way? He'd do that party trick every chance he got, Armand rolling his eyes behind him and reminding him to try and blend in, while the mortals around think it's just some cool magician's illusion.
I love the idea of him discovering this skill as he's trying desperately to get words on the page (I do think he will get back into writing at some point!) and then the fire alarms go off and the room is soaked. That's an amazing mental image of soggy, downtrodden Daniel, frustrated and then amazed at his own power, only to have it literally washed out immediately.
I do wonder if Daniel tests his powers every so often. I would imagine Marius had him test them after he recovered from his illness, probably taking him out into the jungle to see if he could fly or set a tree on fire, things like that. Out of curiosity, mostly, because both of them probably did wonder. I kind of like to imagine he still occasionally checks to see if he can do things other vampires can do, to kind of see where he stands.
But if he does develop the Fire Gift between these little tests, and he doesn't discover it from the sheer frustration of writer's block--a pain so many of us know all too well--I would love to think it happens during a fight with Armand.
Like they're arguing over something silly, and it escalates, because it always escalates, and Armand is being intentionally obtuse, twisting Daniel's words and acting like him wanting to go to Germany for a concert or something means he doesn't love him anymore, you know how they get. And then suddenly Daniel's rage hits a boiling point and the curtains behind Armand burst into flame. And they're both so stunned that the fight ends and Armand makes him do it again, and then the sprinklers go off or the room fills with fire suppressant and then they're both laughing so hard that they can't breathe. 🔥🔥
That would be so amazing, to be honest.

Time for our breather episode, Common Ground
The scenery in this show is so damned good, the way I am instantly in love with Raxus and the gold tones.
Honestly this episode fits much better given what we see in Spoils of War/Ruins of War, emphasizing the humanity of the people in every system. TCW triedddd to do this with the 'heroes on both sides' but they really just kind of said it and then showed us like one lady that didn't suck in the entire show. She died immediately. So I appreciate these episodes.
Also I just love the Senator's droid she's hilarious to me.
Avi Singh is voiced by Alexander Siddig and it made me trust him immediately like all those people in the crowd cheering that is me hearing Julian Bashir's voice come out of this little animated man.
HOW can the scene of them just walking contain so many of my favorite character moments? Omega feeding Wrecker a piece of Mantell Mix, Tech steadying Omega when Hunter helps her off Wrecker's shoulder to make sure she doesn't fall over, her smiling up at him, this expression of UTTER DUBIOUSNESS and SUSPICIOUS SNIFFING from Echo
Tumblr media
I headcanon that Echo has hella digestive problems after a large portion of them was replaced by technology so every food must pass this sniff test and 90% of them do NOT but especially not whatever sugary concoction goes on this space popcorn.
I do NOT get why people thought for so long that we don't see Tech caring for Omega because every time she stumbles Tech is right there to steady her, he takes such good care of Omega oh my god. Sometimes love is making sure your baby sister never ever falls over!
Which he also does when she gets on a chair and he is right there like JUST IN CASE.
Tumblr media
Adolescents often exhibit lack of balance as they grow best to be within two inches of her at all times in case she wobbles.
GRANDMA CRIMES WILL BABYSIT DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. DON'T TRUST HER BUT SHE'LL TOTALLY DO IT.
I do think it's very funny that the one time Hunter successfully keeps her out of a mission by leaving her on another planet, she immediately becomes central to a gambling ring.
I want a count of how many times Echo complained about this job while Tech is just YOU KNOW WHAT'S GREAT, EARNING MONEY TO EAT WITHOUT PUTTING IT ON CID'S TAB. And Wrecker is just excited to mark off a new system on his Visited Locations list.
"Now are you convinced?" "No >:[" Echo has very valid reasons to not be thrilled about this job but unfortunately separatist doesn't mean much anymore and also they're so cute when they're Grumby.
When you clean SO sadly that Cid comes over like STOP BEING A MOPE. Omega's really leaning into her early teens attitude with SOR-RY.
Tumblr media
ANGY.
Bolo and Ketch's DISAPPOINTED HEAD SHAKING is so fucking funny. You UPSET the CHILD Cid. Go fix it. Like they weren't taking bets on her fucking up her bow training earlier.
I know Hunter's mentioning Omega is supposed to be Feelsy a little but I do admit it misses a little bit because it's not like she's missing or anything. I do wish they had done something like this with Crosshair early on, like in Rampage when he orders Echo to be eyes in the sky, switch it to him saying Crosshair's name instead and then correcting.
THIS ANTIQUE VASE IS PRICELESS, BE CAREFUL :C I love herrrrrr
You know the senator is in real trouble because they took his hat.
AND BEHOLD! I HAVE SAVED YOUR MOST PRIZED VASE :D
Quite a bit of time is spent on Grand Theft Walker in this episode. Also I'm glad they're using stun bolts but oh boy is it concerning to stun a bunch of clone troopers in the same area where walkers are fighting, this is such a way to get squished.
As always I'm a big fan of Tech getting Punchy I love that he's not at all a docile nerd.
Echo stepping forward to encourage Avi to leave because he can't help his people in custody is sweet but would have been slightly better if we got a little more one on one interaction between the two of them. Even just one solid scene would be good.
I'll give the batch one thing, their success/failure rate is slightly better than I remembered, they are up to 3 successes and only 1 major failure
Frankly they should stop doing merc work though and just let Omega gamble her way through the galaxy.
SHOW A LITTLE GRATITUDE TO MY FRIEND. Cid is officially Affectionate towards this small child.
Another good character moment is Wrecker giving Hunter an EXTREMELY SERIOUS *TALK TO THE CHILD* LOOK
Really the main plot of this episode is a good breather but it really shines in tiny moments that make me Squeal a little. Just those little character interactions that I ADORE.

My first ever story (and post) on this site! It's tilted inhuman and is about a girl named isabelle who do to genetic experimention is shrunken to four inches tall, it's also going to be told In multiple povs from each charater. the story can be a bit graphic and has a few mentions of suicidal thoughts so warning for that, otherwise I hope you enjoy.
Chapter one.
Isabelle
The first time I felt real hope in my life also ended up being the last.
I was nine when my father brought me and nine other kids to his lab where he and his team of seventeen scientists and three assistants researched the limits of the human body. I foolishly thought it was my parents showing an interest in something I was passionate about.
Science.
I used to love science. I loved taking the time to figure things out and learn about whatever I wanted in my own experiments, I loved picking things apart to find out how they work, and I loved the amazing feeling I got when I finally figured things out. But after i learned what it's like to be on the other end of the stick, whats its like to be picked apart for someone else to figure out how i work,
I hate science.
I pull my knees to my head as I try to conserve the very little warmth my cold cell provides. My eyes squeeze shut as the door creaks open, someone’s here. Nobody should be here, they only left two hours ago. I'm given six hours and thirty minutes of sleep every night after the experiments. Why is someone here? Please, god don't let it be another scientist wanting to play doctor with my tired body during the only break I'm allowed to have. I don't hear footsteps. It must have been the wind playing tricks on me. The familiar click of the door shutting once again gives me half an ounce of comfort as I realize I'm alone again. Everyone else is gone. I press myself against the cold metal bars of my cage and take in the room around me, the same overly clean environment that I've grown used to over the last ten years.
A sigh escapea my lips as I take in the sight of the table they use to perform their sick experiments on me, they hadn't even bothered to clean up my blood. No doubt they left it there to torture me further. The sight of my blood on the table only reminds me that I will never escape, not even death can free me from this fate. Death cannot save me if death cannot reach me. I close my eyes again and go through a mental checklist of what they haven't taken from me yet. my memories, my voice, my thoughts. My memories, my voice, my thoughts. My memories, my voice, my thoughts. I repeat in my head over and over, reminding myself that no matter what else they take, I will always have those three things, even when I wish I didn't. envy is the only thing that comes to mind when i think of the other nine kids who were here with me, partly because they don't have to live with their memories and their thoughts, and partly because they even got to die.
The first of us died of blood loss, so they altered our cells so that we don't get the luxury of bleeding out.
The second caught fire due to the actions of a careless scientist, so made it so our skin can't be burned.
The third had died from being pumped with too many drugs at once, so they made us immune to overdose.
The fourth had died of sickness, so they made us immune to that too.
The fifth had attempted an escape, so they diminished our size down to nearly nothing. He had died during the tests to see if that would work.
The sixth had suffocated herself with a pillow, so they replaced our lungs with a robotic system that produces a different type of oxygen that only our bodies could handle.
The seventh had been crushed to death, so they made our skeletons able to withstand the weight of buildings.
The eight had died of cardiac arrest, so they made our hearts fifty times stronger than any human heart should be.
The ninth had been dissected and stolen for parts.
I am the tenth. The result of how far you can push the limits of the human body, and that is only until they find a way to break me too. I glare at the pile of blankets in the corner, there covered in too much blood and grime to be even considered as usable. They refuse to wash the blankets, which we regrettably used as tourniquets to tie off our wounds back when all this first started. The smell of them used to be nauseatingly disgusting, and I almost wish I could get sick from being around them.
Maybe if I was sick theyd give me a bit of a break. I doubt it though, they would more likely find a way to make me immune to that too. I wonder how long it's been since I have had the cold or even a stomach flu. I wonder how long it will be till I get sick again. I wonder how long it will be until I die, or if I even will die. I used to think It was my right as a human being to have a proper death outside of a place like this, but would I still have a right to leave this lab if I no longer have my mortality? I shake my head as if I'm shaking off the existential crises before it can fully develop.
“Atlas, did you even bother to make a layout of the building?”
an annoyed whisper cuts through the cold silence, And a pit of dread starts to build in the bottom of my empty stomach. It wasn't just the wind. I get up too quickly in an effort to try and get a look at the intruder of the lab. This person is quiet, I haven't even heard their footsteps once since the door shut. Why are they so quiet? Could they save me? Could they hurt me? Where are they? My eyes scan the room as I try to find the ghost person that's sneaking around the room. It's better if I find them before they find me. Almost like the ghost I keep comparing them to, they've hidden themselves perfectly. Away from the sight of the four cameras in the corner of the room, and away from my view. I can't make out if there's one or two ghosts in the room with me. I heard the man say a name, but I only heard one voice. What if there's no one here at all? What if after ten years of living in agony and suffering has finally broken me?
If the ghost-man is nothing but a figment of my broken imagination, then it wouldn't hurt me to talk to him, to call out for help. It would ease the neverending loneliness that this place has instilled in my mind. But on the off chance that it is a real person they could be dangerous and here to hurt me further. Stepping away from the edge of the cage I go over the pros and cons of calling out to him. Pro, if he's fake he doesn't pose a threat. Con, if he's fake then I've truly lost it and will have know way of knowing. Pro, if they're real then they could save me. Con, if they're real they could be scientists. A sigh escapes past my lips, and at the same moment a beaker falls and shatters on the glass tile. A strong smell of bleach invades the room and the ghost man lets out a series of curses in an accent that sounds almost french. Why would my mind make him french? I shake the thought from my head almost as quickly as it forms, what's important now is that i can finally see him. He's in all black with a hood covering the upper half of his face, but I can see a small scar on the left side of his jaw. He's obviously very muscular even with his slightly baggy clothes, and is holding a pistol tightly in his left hand. Why is he armed?! I watch in paralyzed fear as the man looks up and meets my eyes. His brows furrow as confusion takes over his features, he lowers his gun to his hip and takes a cautious step towards me, I return his gesture by also taking a step back. He takes another, more curious step forward, and I again step back. We continue this back and forth until he's at the edge of my cell and I'm pressed firmly against the furthest wall of my cell.
A tense silence fills the room as we both stare at each other intently, watching, and waiting for the other person to make the first move. A chill breeze passes through the room and a shiver racks my tiny body. This man is huge next to me. I've grown used to being man handled and grabbed by scientists whenever they wanted to use me for their sick experiments, but for this ghost-man to stand in front of me and really let me take in his size, its a new form of torture that none of the scientist could even hope to come up with. What if that's what this is? The scientist sending in someone to fuck with my head when they ran ran out of ways to deystroy my body. “Que diable…” the man breaths out a sigh as his shoulders slump with what seems like defeat. What the hell does “que diable'' mean? He's definitely real if he's speaking a language I don't know. He almost seems just as and if not more confused than I am. His eyes shift to the rotten pile of blankets sitting in the corner of my cell. And I feel heat rise up my neck and dye my face a subtle shade of pink from the embarrassment of this stranger seeing me in such a disgusting state. I straighten out the threadbare dress that hangs loosely on my body, before attempting to fix out my hair. I don't know why I care about how a stranger views me, maybe it's because he's the first person who's seen me in years who wasn't actively trying to hurt me. I flinch as he raises a hand that's bigger than my whole body, and gestures to me, more specifically my height. “Are you. . . Isabelle liana?” he asks, his thick french accent breaking through the silence, and my breath hitches in my throat when he says my name. I press myself up further against the wall, the cold metal pressing against my skin. He knows my name. Why? There's not a chance he's here to do anything good if he already knows who I am. I shake my head no, lying in the hopes that he'll leave and not hurt me. “Do you know where I can find her?” he asks, and i shake my head once more, i don't think he has good enough eyesight to catch the fact that i'm trembling with fear of what he may do if he finds out that i am in fact, isabelle liana. “Why, why do you need her?” My words are rushed since I'm not sure how well my vocal cords work now since I've only been using them for screaming the last year. His eyes widen and his face shifts to one of shock and slight confusion at my sudden refound voice, and it takes him a few moments to regain his confusion. He rolls his head as he contemplates the way he could phrase things. Does he think I am a child? “Her brother hired me to find and rescue her.” he explains, shrugging his shoulders and leaning down to peer into my cell once more. I shudder under his heavy gaze, but as his words sink in, hundreds of thoughts rush through my head, one playing louder than all the rest. “Damiens okay?” I regret the words the moment they leave my mouth, and the regret buries itself deeper in me as a smile spreads across his face. “You know damien?” he asks, a playful hint to his tone,
“Yes.” i responde.
“And you're not isabelle?” he asks.
“I am not.”
“How do you know damien?” he crosses his arms and leans on his left hip. “Family ties.” I confidently replied. “Like a brother?” He raises his eyebrow. “Yes.” I cross my arms in return. “So you're isabelle?” he tries to suppress his smirk. “obviously.” fuck. I don't know if it's sleep deprivation or hunger, but this guy is starting to annoy me more than scare me. A grin plays on his lips as he chuckles quietly, I flinch at the sound and take a step back. My eyes go wide as he pulls out a small pair of dull looking scissors out of the large bag he wears on his hips, but they dont look like normal scissors. They're bigger than his hand and seem like they should be stored in a tool box.
“What is that?!” I shout, now fearing for my safety once again with this ghost man. “Chain breaker.” he replies blankly, before raising it to the lock of my cell. It moved to the far back corner, getting as far away from his chain breaker as I could. “I'm ronan, in case you were wondering.” he tells me as he swings open my cell door. I gasp, the only barrier between him and my safety easily stolen without a care in the word from him. Tears brim my waterline at the thoughts of everything he might do to me if i dont get away from him. But I can't. He's blocking the only exit with his way too big hand that is now entering my cell. Oh my god his hand is in my cell. My eyes snap shut and I put my hands up defensively. “NO!” I cry out, and a small sob escapes my throat. the warmth that's been radianting off his hand leaves my cell. And I almost want it back. Sobs rack my pathetically small body as he just watches, I bet he's just struggling to contain his amusement at seeing me like this. He was lying about knowing damien, he guessed i had a brother and this is all just one big trick set up by the scientist to torture me even more than the already have. My sobs soon turn to wails as I realize that I indeed am going to die without seeing my brother again, Ronan, if that even is his actual name was just sent here to bring false hope just so they could rip it away one last time before they finally kill me. And that's only if I still can die, they might bury me under ground and leave me there to starve or dehydrate, whichever comes first, then study the effects it has on my inhuman body. No one will reprimand these awful people for everything they've done to me and the nine others who lost their lives in this place, they'll bring in a new batch of kids and do the same to them, and all our deaths will be in vain. I flinch when I feel a finger begin to gently pat my back, and I jump away from it. “Hey, hey, calm down, stop screaming.” he says, as he puts his hands up so i can see there not doing anything to hurt me. “I already told you this but i'll tell you again, your brother, Damien Liana, hired me, Ronan Moreau, to rescue you from this place.” i shake my head no, not wanting to believe a word he's saying, this man has managed to go from terrifying, to annoying and back to terrifying, and i don't think i could trust him even if i tried. I flinch hard again when I notice that he's slowly extending his palm towards me. But it stops before it even enters my cell. “Please, I promise I'll get you out of here safely.” he says, and i wipe some of the never ending tears off my cheek. “Pinky promise?” I whisper, and he chuckles at my childish request. His hand shifts so that he's holding out his pinky finger to me. I hesitantly hold mine out as well. Because of the immense size difference we can't interlock our fingers, so we just touch the tips together. It may not seem like much, but it means alot to me that he was willing to go along with such a childish request for the sake of my comfort. This time, when he reaches out a hand for me to climb onto, I take a deep breath, and step onto the hand that's offering me the freedom that I have been praying for.

I can’t sleep and have a headache, I’m in pain and sober ( weed would help 2/3 at the least)for some stupid reason. So, I’ll rant.
I went skating (as in skateboard) yesterday
did my first ever 50-50 trick (skate trick) at 40
but also pulled a muscle in my upper thigh and I’m limping a bit and it hurts. (Hi, It’s me, Pedri without free accessible healthcare)
A girl flirted/hit on me and I can’t thinking about it bc, maybe I liked the attention? and she’s cute? I get plenty of attention at home though, dunno wtf is going on.
I forgot to call my mom on her bday but I called her today and we talked like an hour and it was nice. I like my mom a lot. I don’t want her to die, ever. My dad’s death anniversary was last week and I just realized yesterday. None of us surviving family members said anything either, guess we rather forget.
The call with mom also made me realize I barely call anyone anymore, ever. Last time my older sister called I didn’t pick up and have ghosted her since. I told my mom I’m being anti social atm. I need to call my pregnant younger sister. I guess I’m the asshole.
I text with a lot of people that I don’t know IRL and have neglected a lot of my IRL friends. I even have neglected online friends I like a lot. I still chat people a bit too much, I’m afraid.
I think my current obsession with Barça on tumblr and tumblr in general helps me focus on something else but myself when I’m stuck creatively or emotionally.
I need to finish writing 4 songs that I started and are almost done. One about staring at your crush, one about dreaming of people that have passed away, one about Messi (in the most non-obvious way) and one about leaving everything behind to move somewhere else to remake your life. It is annoying to feel like I can’t when I’m perfectly able to. They are 80-90% done.
Right now I’m in between jobs doing some gigs and the break in routine and extra time to do fun stuff things has been , instead of being liberating, weird.
My fav girl friend has been really busy lately and I fucking hate it. I feel needy. And I hate it.
My boyfriend is amazing, thank god he’s there. My bff. I am a mess rn. He was trolling me a week ago saying “I read this list of symptoms of depressed people and you checked out most of them” and I laughed at him and he was like 😅. I’m not depressed. It’s okay. I have depressive tendencies from anxiety but that’s it. I’m a hedonist most of the time, anyway. 🤣 Very few fucks given but active existencial dread.
My health/body has been changing since I hit 40 and it’s pissing me off. Also I kinda stop caring care of myself for a second but getting back on track. Also need to start saving money for all the “hey you hit 40 so you may have this” health test, like cancer screenings and shit. But hey, better old than dead.
and….I need a hug. And to write poems but they won’t come out. I don’t need anyone to do anything. I just need to get it out of my system.
I wish you were here and not so far away, you know this. I punched my pillow today like I told you I wanted to. I wish it was easier.
We had a friend as a house guest for a week and he just left today without telling us, even though he was supposed to be here 2 more weeks and now he said he is with a dude we don’t talk to anymore. lol wtf is wrong with people?! can’t they be normal?!!!! You can say you wanna go see a friend, why just disappear and tell us a one like text when we asked where the fuck you are. He may come back? I dunno ahahahah. Maybe its our bad for having a bunch of moody musicians as friends.
Also, like my bf jokes all the time….when I die, be happy for me because I won’t have to pay any more bills.
Maybe this was too real but IDGAF. The end.

The Tree of Legacy - Chapter 2
Previous chapter - Next Chapter
There are many stories passed through the generations of Hyrule, of heroes and of gods. The first ever dated legend happened many era’s after the Calamity in the time of myth. While historians do debate on the legitimacy of these stories, none can argue with the story of the Creation of Hyrule. When humans return to the surface.
As Hyrule grew, information became muddled together. One could wish that a better system would have been implemented to keep things organized. At last, that’s not the world that Link lives in annoyingly so.
Hands lowered down as green eyes scanned the classroom. Students hurried away writing what notes their professor just wrote on the board and signed to them. It was a class of fifteen in a small cozy room, bookshelves lined the cobblestone walls, the biggest light source was in the front of the room behind the teacher’s desk, the light from this giant window filtered through. Link leaned over to look at some notes he wrote for this class. His shadow made it easier to read against the dark oak table.
It was the homeroom for his class. Link’s class topic was simply ‘the Heroes of Hyrule.’ It was a topic that most youths training to be knights love to talk about. ‘Though talking isn’t the same as learning about them.’ Link thought to himself with an exasperated sigh as he closed a leather-bound notebook, hoping that this class's lecture came across well enough. Even with the knowledge given to the people of Hyrule, information has been lost and what was kept are stories about nameless knights saving nameless princesses. In the common person's head these debatably real individuals were only wife’s tales that didn’t need to be complex. Stories to scare children into behaving or to give them hope in the world.
Noticing a figure in the corner of his eyes, Link could only hold back a sigh as he turned back towards his class. ‘It’s the scarred one again’ they all have scars to an extent, but this spirit’s scar was the first thing he always noticed about him. It was unlike the Champions where it’s the entire right side of his body, this one was different.
This man appears differently each time he shows up in the corner of Link’s vision. When Link first met him when he was ten and the hero was of the same age. Then when growing up he has seen him as a young adult and now as a fully grown man around his 50’s. No matter what the age was he always had a scar on his right eye that kept it permanently closed.
“Professor!” Link’s train of thought paused as a young Lurelian girl had her hand raised. “I have a question about the final paper.” Aryll Lynde, she was someone that Link grew up with as he went to class with one of her brothers. Link gestures for her to continue. “Can we add on to our last year's paper?”
‘As I wrote on the board,’ He walks to the chalkboard with their class assignment. A lot of teachers would argue that his teaching wasn’t the best. There are no tests and no true homework. However at the end of the class the students are to construct an essay about a portion of Hyrule’s vast history with research to back up their statement. He only asks for them to hand in something for periodic check-ins. ‘Hero’s aren’t the only thing in Hyrule’s history. Instead of limiting you to one topic, if something in this class or classes in the past year catches your eye then go for it. So yes Aryll you can research the minish forest and the inhabitants.’ He signs smiling.
A knock rang out. He looks up to see a familiar looking blonde woman in a blue turtleneck and a lab coat. Zelda. A fellow teacher of the academy and the Princess of Hyrule. She had her arms crossed as she leaned on the arch, gesturing her head towards the grandfather clock.
It read Eleven o’clock.
Link stiffens, pales and shoots an apologetic look to Zelda. She shakes her head laughing softly pushing off of the arch. Clapping gets the students attention. “Alright everyone. Your professor has torture you enough about curses and hero’s tales.” She finally arrives at the front of the class, stopping and turning around. “It’s time for class to be over.” Link quickly flipped through his notebook and nudged Zelda showing her the homework the students had to do. “And be sure to have your final paper topic’s in for the check up next week!” She yells after the students who were packing up, giggling and whispering at their professor’s flustered expression.
After the last students, Oha and Buiell, thanked him for the class and hurried out. Link braced for impact. ‘I’m sorry’ he signed.
Zelda gave out another airy laugh, “I figured much. So, I came to help those poor souls.” She holds out her hand. “Come on. We have to catch this train if we want to have enough time at the temple. Do you have your stuff ready?”
Link rolled his eyes and took her hand after throwing his bag over his shoulder.
The streets of Hyrule’s Castle Town was as busy as ever. The pair held hands while weaving through crowds, Zelda was on a small rectangular slate that was a family heirloom from the Hero of Wild. From what she told him it was called the Sheikah Slate adding her two cents right after on how it wasn’t the best name for it. Either way it played a vital role in the last Hero’s adventure, and since it still works all the same Zelda is now using it to document and compare the ancient tech to the new. The small device also contained a lot of documentation from the Hero of the Wilds Era. Which caused this interest into the Forgotten Temple in the first place.
The dream is still in the back of his mind though and going to the Forgotten Temple made his stomach drop. It’s not like he didn’t want to go. He would have loved to do some personal research on the heroes without the feeling of existential dread.
“-Ether way, I just want to make sure everything is ok.” Ah. He zoned out on Zelda’s briefing. She looks over her shoulder. “Are you feeling good?” Link nods, lying about the bubbling anxiety he was feeling. “It will be quick, then we can come back for the start of the Festival of Farore.”
‘That’s today?’ He totally forgot. ‘I thought Claus was just coming home.’
“He is. But it’s also the Festival.” She turned back to her slate. “Which is also why Vita and Iris couldn’t come with us.” He just hums in acknowledgment. They fall into a comfortable silence as Zelda subconsciously swings their locked hands together gently. Occasionally the Princess would show him some old pictures from the past. Annotating with musings on how things changed in 500 years. Which was true, it was interesting and is why the Forgotten Temple would be nice to examine.
The Forgotten Temple.
As the name implies was an abandoned ruin that the people of Hyrule could only assume was a temple at one point. Due to its architecture and how it housed the oldest Goddess Statue in all of Hyrule. A lot of the scholars of Hyrule couldn’t date it and theorized that the ruins were here after Hylian’s settled down in the area. There wasn’t much to it after the Hero of Wilds got rid of the remaining guardians for the last time.
Even then there wasn’t much here to begin with. The Goddess statue wasn’t anything special. There were journals talking about the shrine that lay under the ground after the calamity was defeated but that would be almost impossible to dig up without ruining the structure.
However, that was not what Zelda wanted to come here for. Shockingly. Link really thought it was with how obsessed his friend was with ancient tech. If he was honest, he still had no clue on why they were there in the first place. The Doctor said that something was bothering her for a while now about this place and that was it. He was brought along because of his knowledge of the history of Hyrule’s past.
A green haze started to form in his vision, subconsciously Link rubs his eyes. “I guess I was wrong.” Zelda lowered the old slate in her hands.
‘Was there something here in the first place?’ Link looks around at the limestone structures. ‘The whole place looks like it’s been flipped upside down.’ An offhand comment since the ceiling really did look like the flooring to the place and vice versa.
A lightbulb almost physically lit up in her head and she looked up, then to the flooring. “Goddess your right.” Now with new found inspirations he watched as she bounced around the room to taking pictures. He rolls his eyes and looks up observing the walls. There was truly nothing here.
A blue glow from above caught his eye as he faced the back wall of the temple. There was a hole in the wall it was coming from. There was scaffolding leading up from a previous venture inside and was left so others could get through. He turns and whistles for Zelda’s attention. She faces him confused at first but seeing what he was pointing at her eyes widens. “Just as I thought.” She bolted towards him. “Come on.”
‘Just as you thought?’ He signed quickly catching up to her.
“I had this feeling something weird was happening here.” She admitted as they climbed up the wooden structure. “It’s not dangerous obviously. However, I knew I couldn’t ignore it.”
They walked to the edge of the crack facing the other side of the temple. The blue glow was in the last room where the goddess statue stood tall. Green haze came back into Link's vision making him shut it. Anxiety bubbled up. He didn’t want to see anymore. No more spirits. No more memories that weren’t his. No more dissociative episodes. He took a deep breath when he opened his eyes again. Ignoring the questioning gaze of Zelda and continued forward.
The hollow corpses of guardians always put him on edge but seeing them in this second room was unnerving. There was so much damage to the temple and it was clear that most of it was from the automated tanks. It was a shame really.
“Hey Link?” Zelda stopped before the goddess statue room where the blue glow was. He turned to her concern writing on his face. “I…” She desperately tried to look for the right words to say. But instead, just shook her head. “Let’s hope that we find something interesting.” Link stared blankly at her as she walked past. There was no doubt in his mind that she wanted to say something different at that moment, but confronting her about it wasn’t something he wanted to do.
So, he just followed her in.
The statue room was the smallest room in the temple. There was an indentation in the ground where the shrine used to be and was subsequently covered up due to the 500 years that have passed since then. But in its spot were 3 dark blue rectangular crystals. It wasn’t a luminous stone or sapphire, but something that Link had never seen before. There were markings that reminded him of the markings on the few shrines he saw in pictures. The light blue glow disappears when they get closer.
“Do you recognize this?” He shook his head. “Same.” Zelda bent down as Link hovered around her, not sure how to help. Looking around there was much to the surrounding area that was new. Until he stopped to look at the base of the goddess statue to see a small golden harp resting at the base. However, when he turns to let Zelda know, she was in the process of tapping the gem with her knuckle.
One hit made the room explode in light and color as a blue bubble formed around them. Everything that was in the case inside the orb had time turned on it. What once was a yellow stone walkway turned into a marbled garden path up to the statue. The ceiling became open and sunlight shined through. Everything outside was what it was in their present. “A time-shift stone…” Zelda whispers as a soft harp melody slowly fills the room. They both stared up here and turned to the base of the goddess statue.
There was a sandy blonde-haired man standing at the base holding the harp. He couldn’t be older than 45, wearing a cream knit sweater, brown pants and a soft white cape with an old version of the Hylian crest embroidered in. He pauses and turns around.
“It’s nice to see you again Professor” the older man wore a gentle smile towards Link. Gears started to turn in his head.
“Who…how...” Zelda was as speechless as Link.
“My Queen had a vision that we would meet again, Hero of Legacy.”
There was a pause as the two started to process the information. Link and Zelda shared a glance as the same thought ran through their heads as the Queen's Prophecy.
“The Hero will awaken with the blessings of the Goddess. He, who had already befriended my daughter, will help in their fight with the darkness.”
The dots slowly connect. The dreams and spirits were a blessing. A blessing from a goddess. This man was an early King of Hyrule. The King must have picked up the confusion as he continued. “Link you are the Hero of this generation,” it wasn’t a question to the situation. “Your journey will have you travel throughout time and space-”
“Hold on” Zelda was the first to cut in, “who are you and what do you mean to travel time and space?”
“Time travel.” The King replied quickly “I don’t have all the answers but I know he would need to time travel back and to help the heroes of Hyrule’s history.”
“So, to be transparent here. You don’t actually know what he needs to do to get back in time.” Zelda’s statement caught the King of guard. His expression turned bashful as he rubbed the back of his neck.
“I only know one way to time travel and I can assure you he didn’t use that.”
Zelda sighs and faces Link “This isn’t my forte. What do you think Link?”
Link wanted to sass her but kept his hands to his side. There were a lot of items that can theoretically time travel. The Harp of Ages and the Ocarina of Time were the top two that came to mind. However, both are lost to the ages. The Gate of time was a myth and the War of Era had the help of the Guardians of Time. Help is a strong word to use. Link paused his train of thought.
He was the hero of this Era.
‘Wait are you sure I’m the hero?’ He signed.
“We can only assume you are,” Zelda said exasperated. “We’ll get to it, when we get to it.”
“It was you Professor.” The King said with confidence. “You were the one who, I met on my adventure.”
“Adventure?”
Alarms triggered in Link’s mind.
‘Are you the first King of Hyrule?’ His hands were shaking as he panicked, but the King just stared at him.
“I- uh… can’t understand you.” The king was back to being sheepish. “You had someone else acting as your voice, and when they weren’t there, I had a companion who learned that translation for me.”
Zelda fills in, “he asked if you were the First King of Hyrule.”
“Ah. Yes, that’s me- well kind of.” King paused to think about it. “Hyrule isn’t established yet on the surface.”
He tugged on Zelda’s lab sleeves ‘He’s The Hero of the Skies.’ Link added the context. ‘He was the reincarnation of a Hylian knight that fought alongside Hylia here during the war against the demon god Demise.’ His signs were messy and quickly, Zelda grabbed his hands and lowered them.
“I didn’t come here for a history lesson, Link.” She said pinching the bridge of her nose “and what I’m getting from this whole conversation. Is that Link is the next iteration of the hero and we need to figure out how to time travel back to meet the other heroes?”
“I don’t know about the others. From what my wife has spoken to me about. Yes.”
‘Then the question is how, I’m assuming your way was the gate of time?’
“He asked about the Gate of Time.”
“That is no more, but I know this.” The King holds up to play a short song on the harp. A part of Link screamed with recognition as he was pushed into a green haze.
Ocarina notes flow around him as he hears a child’s voice “If something should happen to you, remember this song...” it almost sounded like Zelda when they were children. “The Goddess of Time is protecting you. If you play the Song of Time, she will aid you..."
Was that it? The Song of Time?
Link feels the presence of the Hero from the Dream again as he stares into the hazy void. There were others there as well, but he didn’t know which was who.
He was asked to focus on something but he couldn’t pinpoint the voice. But the hand he was holding was warm. He closed his eyes and focused on that warmth trying to steady his breath.
“Jus- … ld- end” the voice slowly dissipates the fog. His breath was steadying out.
“Lin…” Zelda. It was Zelda. He opened his eyes as he was facing down to the floor. “There we go.”
Link lifts his head and relaxes his shoulders. ‘Sorry.’ He was shaking, ‘that was the Song of Time, correct?”
“Link-“Zelda wanted to argue but he put a hand up.
‘We might not have enough time to keep talking about this.’
Her lip tightened and sighs. “Right. Fine. But we can’t ignore this.” There is a threatening tone in her voice that made him flinch when attention was off of him. “He asked if that song was the Song of Time.”
“Yes, I think?” The King also was startled now that he was under Zelda’s harsh gaze. “Zel- Er, my wife taught it to me.” The bubble began to shrink slowly as they were running out of time. Noticing this the King held out the Harp smiling. “Though it won’t help you please take the Goddess Harp.”
The duo stared at it for a second. Link took a breath and nudged Zelda to her ancestor. ‘It’s your family's instrument not mine.’
She scoffs and rolls her eyes. “You’re the apparent Hero, you should have the honor.” The tone was teasing as she stepped forward to take the golden harp. “Thank you for meeting with us.”
“I’m still shocked that I got a chance to meet you both.” The King smiled “but I’m happy we did,” as the bubble quickly shrunken down and he disappeared.
There was a pause between the pair now that they were truly alone. Zelda slowly turned around with a smile that gave Link a shiver down his spine. “You got a lot of explaining to do, mister.”

Note
i cannot think of any duos for the ask game so please choose one (or more than one?) of your favorites :]
you have given me so much free rein so im gonna talk endlessly amd probably rb this to talk abt more duos because i have a lot of thoughts about a lot of guys
ok first imma gonna scream abt ichikawa and iharu from kaiju no. 8 because they have been holding my brain hostage imma put the chart and then scream abt them in read more
Tumblr media
GOD WHERE DO I EVEN START
ichikawa is such a naturally caring person and this extends to iharu who he does not fet along with AT ALL at the start of the series because iharu is projecting his insecurities onto ichikawa pretty hard, and he's still working through that, but they grow extremely close very rapidly because they're thrust into an extremely traumatic life or death situation with practically no mental preperation, they're told that people can and will die on the job but they still can't really process it until experiencing it first hand themselves
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ichikawas caring nature shows up very hard in this fight as he continuously tries to save iharu and gets his shit acsolutely rocked because of it, but iharus biggest struggle is that hes been protected his whole life and is so fucking sick of it
Tumblr media
after all this they're both still pretty at odds with each other but they've been through something that the rest of their team havent experienced and it made them really close, more importantly for both of their arcs, it REALLY mellowed iharu out, mostly because now he's seen what it takes to grow and hes started to realize that he just doesnt have that, hes beggining to understand that hes going to be left behind by everyone around him, no matter how much it upsets him
Tumblr media
when ichikawa fails the first weapon aptitude test, iharu is actually very relieved, theres still at least a small window if time where he'll still be even near ichikawas level
but even after all of his conflicting feelings and hatred of being left behind he STILL CARES ABOUT ICHIKAWA SO DEEPLY!! his reaction to ogatas suggestion that ichikawa stops trying to use weapon no. 6 is out of envy of his power, but it is also out of real, genuine concern for the person he cares about most, despite everything that happens, iharu still tries to keep the mood light for ichikawas sake, he tries to joke around with him after kafka gets taken from them, and he always tries to keep him safe despite ichikawa being better at protecting him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(also hes the only person that calls iharu by his first name just putting that out there)
this all isnt to say that iharu is the only one with very strong feelings towards the other, ichikawas desire to protect iharu is a part of his general wish to keep everyone around him safe no matter what, but he also seems to feel deeply in debt to iharu and very clearly understands him better than the rest of their squad. most of the team writes him off as someone brash because hes competitive when ichikawa understands that hes really just an airhead with very deep insecurities, and as such gives him a pass on pretty much every time iharu tries to provoke him, with pretty much everyone else, he'd yell at them or snap, telling them to calm down or cut it out, but his reaction to iharu is much more of a 'yeah yeah get it out of your system'
Tumblr media Tumblr media
his reaction to iharu trying to show him up is very muted compared to everyone else and this attitude only increases as the series goes on, iharu constantly getting up in arms about things and ichikawa just kind of going with it, not doing much to stop him while simultaneously almost immediately stopping anyone else from doing the same thing
GOD they are so good for each other so bad for each other I am so normal about them

Guess whose one shot at a job fell through before I even got a chance. 16 denials this week alone and counting. I don't know how the fuck people are complaining no one wants to work. I have been job hunting for something better since last year. I work 2 jobs and do art comms and can still barely afford to live. I'm tired. I'm trying. I spend more hours a week applying to jobs than anything else at home and I dont know what I'm supposed to be doing. I go in person, I'm told to apply online. I apply online, I get nothing for months or I don't even get a chance at an interview. I mess up my entire work schedule for interviews when I do get them, I get nothing out of them. I have 5+ years of retail and food service experience. I can't even get hired by "easy" places everyone touts. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I don't know if I am doing anything wrong because the system is so fucked. I'm so fucking tired. Please just let me work and afford to live in this God forsaken shithole of a state. I can't even start to save up to move out because I live so tight and I owe $400 in taxes so it's taking what little savings I had. I wish places would even give me a fucking chance. I have to spend 30+ minutes doing your stupid 200+ question personality test and I can't even get a chance at an interview. I should be compensated for that time.
I wish I could just shrivel up and disappear.

Monthly Theory Roundup: Aftermath of the Solstice Edition
Otohan Thull: How long has Otohan been watching Keyleth? Let’s say for the purposes of this theory that Otohan is in her 60’s when the solstice happens in 843 PD. The sealing of Vecna was in 811 pd and so was the end of the Vox Machina Campaign. 6 years ago was the first “Test Run” of trying to bait Vax into saving Keyleth (837 PD). Vox Machina are very famous in Exandria because of their heroics so it wouldn't be a far stretch to have Otohan know of and about them and they could have researched the group knowing of the vestiges they carry and their allegiances. However almost 30 years have passed between Vox Machina’s last battle and the attack on Keyleth that killed Will and Derrig. As well there was the whole Apex war (823 PD) between that first attack and the time Vox Machina’s campaign was finished. That is also where Otohan lost their faith in the Duskmaven. So it couldn't be a far stretch to say that after the Apex War and during the 14 year gap between the war starting (823 PD) and the attack (837 PD) is where she could have started planning and deciding on her distaste for the gods in general. Given how easy it would be go gain information on Vox Machina, (the clock tower in whitestone, Vasselheim/ the Raven Queen’s temple, her own knowledge of the Duskmaven and her powers and champions) and also knowing of the heroics of the group it also wouldn't take that long to find out about Keyleth and Vax’s relationship especially if she traveled around as a tourist for a bit. However there is a further question of Otohan could have gotten any sliver of divinity, why was it Vax? Otohan works in dunamancy and could have very well have tried to seek out more dunamantic power or even tried to go that divine route with the Luxon but chose instead to take their anger for the Duskmaven and seek out a piece of her power to feed into the Malleus Key she was creating and to perhaps seek some kind of revenge or deep seeded grudge on the god that she once worshiped.
Vax’ildan: How did he convince the Matron to let him show up? Besides the  the gods are in trouble part I am curious as to how and why the Matron decided to let him come into the mortal plane. The last time he was able to come through was during the Dalen’s Closet one shot and that was because of a Wish spell. I wonder if because the Raven Queen was once mortal that there is still some part of her that feels connection to them especially during the apogee solstice because that was around the time that she was able to ascend and take over from the previous god of death. This leads into my other question can Vax interfere with fate? If he knows when Keyleth dies like it was inferred to in the Dalen’s Closet one shot where he could basically see her thread of fate. if there is something that will harm Keyleth and prevent her from fulfilling that fate that is he allowed to step in? It seems like this particular interference hasn't happened before but it was the second time Keyleth was attacked by the same group of people and she was almost taken down by one round of Otohan’s attacks. However I do think that the Matron could most likely see that this was a desperate hour for the mortals and that the balance between the divine and the mortals was possibly going to disappear so perhaps she let Vax appear to possibly help aid and keep that balance by helping protect Keyleth.
Other Thoughts: Magical bound prisoners have possibly now escaped and or been released...Exandria has quite the list, Trent Ikithon (possibly), Magical Objects (Horn of Orcus anything being kept in Vasselheim), Beings being held prisoner like the Shackles of Tharizdun, Uk’otoa. What about the stasis bubbles in Aeor, have those people been released? Would anyone trapped still be alive or would time catch up and they would all succumb to death.
This all feels like a Magical Reset, like turn off most divine magic, reset the system with the solstice and the malleus key and then turn it back on and power it up with new programming (without divine intervention/help)

● that tattoo looked beat and bloody as hell. none of my tattoos ever got that bad and I'm a bleeder
● okay so like maybe we shouldn't trust someone with 'crazy' in their nickname??
● Greg needs to fuck off, A can you take care of him next?
● Imogen is tossing around a lot of that money that's supposed to be for saving her house
● in your fucking face Kelly, Faran is a badass
● the most offensive thing ive ever heard is Tabitha calling Ash a "teen C*le S*rouse"
● love a girls day montage
● Shawn mind your business
● Steve stay the fuck away from Mouse and let her and Ash have thier cute bowling date
● that Kelly and A scene was perfect though it throws out both theories that Kelly was actually Karen and if A was gonna kill her thinking she was Karen there goes Kelly working with A
● sorry Corey mother doesn't always know best
● why is Riverdale set in this universe I swear to God if RAS ruins this with adding supernatural nonsense next season
● it was Joe. Joe SA'd Angela the night of her death because of nice guy syndrome and he SA'd both Imogen and Tabitha because he's just a lonely creep
● okay go off Faran, your mom fucked up and she should know it
● wish they had shown her actually dancing in swan lake cause she would have killed it
● Elodie and Angela I was not expecting, but really not cool Elodie for turning Angela into the predator. Not cool.
● oh come on Kelly you really think it was Henry being that giant ass man who attacked you
● there's a reason why I opted out of doing the simulation baby in high school and instead did a financial report about the costs of raising a baby
● Henry is a little too eager to be giving all these girls massages
● "critical distance" about acclaimed movies that have violent SA scenes… shut the fuck up Wes
● have I mentioned I fucking hate the sheriff
● if the sheriff is revealed to be the one who SA'd Angela I would not be shocked at all
● wait but what if Sheriff actually was the one who SA'd Angela and that's why A killed Karen because not only did she remind him of the girls moms being bullies to Angela but she's also the daughter of the man that pushed Angela to taking her own life???
● that trainer guy is putting steroids in the inhaler isn't he and Noa is gonna be drug tested and get in trouble for having steroids in her system
● Do I like Imogen and Chip?? I'm confused by this
● these A chase scenes are just so damn good
● okay so am I the only one that feels let down by Mouse's big secret reveal. They played it up so much just for it to be that she was almost kidnapped by her bio dad that Elodie went back on a surrogacy agreement with??
● and is he really in the wrong here? I mean Mouse is his child too, it may not have been done legitimately through an agency but Elodie kept the baby that they paid her for the least she could have done was allow that couple to be apart of her life

Today I woke up. My sister is in the hospital. COVID, but the world no longer cares about that. COVID, but I can’t call out of work because my job abandoned their time off for the pandemic as soon as the government stopped requiring it. They’re a healthcare company. They produce catheters for angioscopy and atherectomy procedures. I could have the disease. I sat right across from her during her birthday dinner. I initiated the group hug after. One day later, my mother was calling me telling me she was in an ambulance.
This morning was Monday. I got in the car, the only one we have, and it didn’t start up the first time around. It said charging system malfunction. I thank the god I no longer believe in for letting it start up on the second try. I can’t afford a repair. I’m going to have to check the wires and drive belt myself, and pray it’s not the alternator. I don’t have a tool for that. I’m thousands of dollars in debt, and so is my wife. We’re happy that we can finally afford groceries on a mostly consistent basis. I wish that that mostly was more guaranteed.
Got to work. Confirmed with my boss that the medical device company I work for has indeed abandoned COVID time. If I want to take time off, I’m gonna have to use my vacation. I used up all my sick time for the last crisis. The last time I was sick I didn’t even bother to do that. I just came in. I mucked up all the cathetors with my virus-infected hands. The test said it wasn’t covid, but that was just a couple weeks before my sister came down with it. Again, we saw eachother. Across the table. We hugged. Close enough.
Of course, physical death isn’t enough. Apparently the universe has decided on a campaign of eradication against my soul. The man who I’ve been trying to build a stronger friendship with for the past year messaged me today. It was long enough that the message didn’t fit all at once on the screen. It was the kind of message you always are afraid to get when you see a notification ping.
It wasn’t anything unexpected. This is a situation that’s been ongoing. But he’s done with it. He says he’s not done with me, but his actions say otherwise. This is the first time he’s messaged me since the last message that didn’t fit on a single screen. The one where he called me a hyprocrite.
He wasn’t wrong. And I tried to apologize the right way. Recognize your wrong. Acknowledge you hurt them. Sincerely promise to not repeat. But nothing’s changed in the server he says.
But I’m confused. It’s not the server he called a hypcocrite. He hasn’t said any way the server needs to be different.
Just me.
So I’m pretty sure he’s just saying goodbye to me.
I can’t fight it though. He spent a week in a mental institution at the start of this year. Some days I wish I could do the same, but it would kill my wife. The last husband, the one who’s name she whispers in fear visited them often. I can’t do the same for the fear of becoming a reminder of that man.
I get another message. Dad, and my other sister, they have it too. The pandemic that’s over but also not really. The one everyone’s looking away from and pretending no longer exists. I’m worried because my Dad is diabetic. The same kind of Diabetic as my wife. It put them first in line for the original vaccines, and it puts them first in my mind as I try not to think about how life will be without my Dad. Or her.
She’s the only one I have left. I don’t think she knows the extent of that. How she was the first one to look at me, and not joke about it. The first one to love me honestly and genuinely. With her whole heart. I’m terrified one day I’ll get it from her. A message of several paragraphs. So long it doesn’t fit on the screen all at one time.
I don’t think she knows. I don’t think the cats know. I don’t think my sisters or mom and dad know how I’m hanging by a thread and barely holding on. The only reason I stay is because it would hurt them far more than it would save me. My cats wouldn’t understand why I’m no longer around to sneak them chicken from the one on sale my wife brought home. My wife wouldn’t understand how I could be just the same and as cruel as the man who’s name she whispers in fear. She would think it was her fault. She would call herself the cruel one. The one who was cursed. My sisters wouldn’t understand. “he was doing so well!” they would cry.
I’m doing so well.
Aren’t I?
My mother, I’m not entirely sure. She’s changed lately. For the good and bad. She’s let go of the eyes of others who drew her down. She’s become vibrant and cohesive. But she also seeks for answers in corners where they do not lie. She thinks for others when she should think for herself. She tries to drag and nibble at places where she does not belong. But it is an improvement, I suppose. From who she was before.
My father would be wounded most of all. He’s lost before. A shotgun blast, brains on the wall. Just a block away. He’d talked with him the night before. “He was my friend? Why didn’t he say a word?”
Because it’s not about you. It’s about getting away. I hurt. I don’t want to hurt any more.
I feel like a mite on the world of giants. Wars and plagues and gods. I want to nibble in my corner. Be loved and love others.
But it hurts. It hurts. It hurts.

i had to call him sensei!- chp 15
Oh my God! What is the matter with this idiot you got stuck with!!!
Before I tell you about my previous achievements! I want to show you my latest invention! It's a solution I invented that helps me determine whether my samples are of excellent quality or not! So I can save time and effort and not waste my precious equipment on failed samples! Isn't this wonderful! This solution can distinguish between the quality of the samples, whether they are humans or vampires!
How does this solution work? (It is similar to the solution I chose from the alchemist! But I think the alchemist’s solution only works on humans! I think so!)
It's simple! This shows how smart I am! (How very proud he is) He only needs a drop of blood on a cup of solution, like this cup of tea! Then the color of this solution changes (just like the solution of that alchemist) and only the one who has the key that I wrote down in this instruction booklet will be able to interpret the color that will appear as some dripping of a drop of blood in the cup of solution! Isn't this supernatural! I also memorized all the indicators and the meaning of the colors, so I no longer need the book!
Yes, it is a great invention! (How much experience would it take to sum it up in that booklet!)
Not as great as I aspire to! But it is a very useful tool to achieve my goal! What is your opinion! Let's try it now! I am sure you will get great results!
S- Sure! Just not sure…
No need to be shy! Just come and see!
He poured my cup of tea on the floor and then poured that solution into the tea cup. He reached into his pocket to pull out a strange pointed instrument. I don't know what it is used for, but he probably uses it in his experiments. He told me to extend my finger:
It only takes a poke!
I extended my finger to him! Although I hope he doesn't disgrace me with that tool! Everything he owns smells evil! What if I was poisoned by it? I hesitated and withdrew my hand before he stabbed me:
Don't worry! I don't want to bother you with this! I can do it!
So I cut my finger with a small knife that I always carry with me, then I extended my hand over the cup to drip a few drops into the solution, and then the color of the solution changed to become transparent like water!!
What! What! When the color of my strange solution evaporated! Has my dear solution spoiled! Or is this evidence of a new species that I have not discovered before!!! surprising! Another issue that the genius doctor must discover!!
Oh my God, I'm stuck with this idiot! I wish something could save me from it!
Sorry for the disappointing results!
This is not disappointing! If the indicator that appeared indicated that you were of the despicable type, it would have been disappointing! But the matter here is very different! And I'm sure you are not from the low class!!!
Doctor, can you explain to me a little about the color system that this solution works on?
Sure I can!!! If the color of the solution is light, this indicates that you are human, and the quality of human samples varies as the color becomes closer to violet, the more it indicates the quality of the sample. As for vampires, the color is dark, and the closer it approaches red, the more it indicates its quality! But…but the dhampirs showed many different results and this solution is still being tested on them! So there is a possibility that your test results indicate something like this, but! This can't be! Even if you are, Dampier has never tested a solution that gave colorless results, but it is possible! The possibility is possible! You're not a true dhampir!
no! Of course not! I am human! And my parents too! (My parents are in my original world! As for me, I still do not know the identity of the original owner of this body!) But what is a dhampir!?
He's a hybrid between a vampire and a human! do not you know!?
No I didn't know! But the only thing that can be confirmed is that I am not one of them! Haha! (I'm not sure about anything! Now that I'm stuck with him why not have a little fun) What about your other amazing discoveries!?
Of course!! I will show those who appreciate me and my achievements everything!!!
And so, before he began to show off his dirty inventions, a man wearing an abaya whose face I cannot see came, approached the doctor’s ear and whispered something to him:
Who could be this person who would dare to interrupt my fun session with my new guest! Excuse me, I will take a look and come back!
It's okay, take your time!
That psycho went to do what he was going to do and let those things watch me! After a short moment of silence, that annoying scream rang out again, shouting:
It's number 69 and it's back! My precious sample is back!

“So, this is fake.” Nina was still unimpressed.
“I wouldn’t say that, necessarily. I don’t think someone would go to all that effort to knowingly hide a fake.”
“That’s true.” Nina tapped her bottom lip as she thought. “It looks too much like the real stuff, anyway. But there’s only so much of it floating around. There was the one Victor took off us during the mouse infestation, the fake one, the juice bottle Alfie drank…”
“Was that not all of them?” Alfie asked.
“That’s what I thought. The mouse infestation one must be used up by now, and we gave the juice bottle to the hospital for testing, so unless anybody has another one waiting in the wings, we’re still in need of an explanation.”
“Ah, but the juice bottle elixir wasn’t always in the juice bottle. We transferred it there from a different container,” Fabian said, and Nina’s eyes went so large they all but rolled out of her head.
“Oh my God, you’re right.”
“Right, well, it’s probably in there somewhere. Nothing to worry about, right? Case closed,” Patricia announced, a bit louder than necessary.
“Did we…put all of it in that one bottle? We did, right?” Nina muttered. Fabian kept his mouth shut; Patricia had upgraded her glare to Open Your Mouth and Die. “…Right?”
Losing patience, Nina examined Fabian, Amber, and Patricia in that order; since Eddie, Alfie, and KT were either unconscious or in another country when the crime in question was committed, they got to bear silent witness to the standoff.
Finally, something hit Nina over the head like a sack of bricks.
“Wait—"
“Alright, fine. It was me. I put it in there and forgot about it, okay? Jesus Christ.” If Patricia blurting it out all by herself counted as ‘a sack of bricks,’ anyway. “You can stop laughing now.”
“Sorry!!” KT put both hands over her mouth. Patricia’s eyes locked on to her like a primed missile guidance system.
“Wait, you. How did you even know? You weren’t there. You didn’t even know what elixir was until this afternoon!”
“I told her. Over text.” Fabian’s ‘reassuring’ smile clung to his lips like off-brand saran wrap. (Read: not well.) With this much mounting evidence (and recent personal experience), Eddie could sense this eavesdrop-cover-up in his sleep. “She let us and Amber know what was going on, and I suspected there may have been one we forgot about hidden somewhere.”
“Totally.” And thanks to Amber, everyone else knew about the cover-up, too. It was Fabian’s turn to grimace and move on like that didn’t just ruin the whole game; maybe it was nothing more than wishful thinking (or an overactive guilty conscience), but Eddie got the odd impression that he’d just gotten even with someone, in a cosmic sense if nothing else.
“So…there’s no problem, then? All’s well that ends well?” Alfie glanced at the door in the least subtle way possible, which Eddie couldn’t help but find a little odd. This was a bit tedious, but it wasn’t that bad, dude. …Nevermind; it’s gotta be those worms, and I still don't want to know.
“I…guess it is, if that’s the only one we missed. I can’t believe we forgot about that. Would have saved us a lot of going down to the cellar over and over.”
“Yeah, yeah, I messed up.” Eddie moved to Patricia’s defense, but Nina beat him to it.
“Don’t worry about it. At all. Water under the bridge, especially since we all forgot. Clearly it was a good enough hiding place that no one found it this whole time, so if anything, good job?”
“Oh. Right. Thanks.”
“Sooo…what are we going to do with it? Put it back?” Amber asked, much to Nina’s chagrin.
“Uh, no. No offense Patricia, great hiding spot for now, but clearly its time has come.”
“Dump it?” Eddie suggested.
“I dunno man, don’t they recycle water? That’s why you can’t just dump any old chemicals from the lab down the sink; ol’ Sweetie wouldn’t let me forget that after that one time. So what I mean to say is: if it put me in the hospital, I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to put it back in the water supply.” Amber stared at Alfie in horror.
“They recycle water?”
“You know what? I’ll just hold onto it for a bit. We’ll figure this out later.” Nina dropped it back in her shoulder bag.
Eddie swept the room as the meeting wound down; the tension bled out following Patricia’s admission, and while it hadn’t erased every shoulder of chips, even Nina and Fabian were able to have a productive exchange within the greater conversation. So long as nothing spontaneously burst into flames, this would go down as a relative success.
Very successful in the Nina and Fabian department, in fact. They shared a lingering glance as Nina made for the door; Fabian was the first to look off to the side self-consciously, but he held out longer than Eddie would have expected. Very good thing.
Then why was there a minor chord ringing in the back of his mind?
KT pulled Fabian aside, distracting Eddie from whatever that red flag was, and a moment later they were gone before he could get a read on them. She’d looked pleased, so he was hoping it wasn’t anything he needed to worry about. Alfie and Amber filtered out one after another not long after.
But not Patricia; she hung back, still sort of sour looking, but considerably less disturbed. She’d just passed her first test; this was his.
“Proud of you for owning up to it.”
“Only once I had no option, but thanks, I guess. If Fabian knew, why didn’t he say something?”
“I have a theory about that. I don’t think he did.”
“What?”
“I think we may have had an eavesdropper he was covering for.” He crossed his arms and raised his eyebrows while she puzzled it out. The moment it clicked, she shrank back from the anticlimax.
“She didn’t rat me out. She probably should have.”
“Nah, KT’s not like that. It wasn’t that big of a deal, anyway.”
“No. She isn’t. And it wasn’t.” Her brow furrowed, but her silence was considerably less uncomfortable as she chewed on that. Eddie wasn’t so lucky – the break in the conversation made for the perfect conditions to trigger a mid-projection realization that he was, in fact, projecting right now.
“It wasn’t? It wasn’t. Yeah. Happens all the time, overhearing things. Probably wasn’t even on purpose. That happens a lot to uh, a lot of people. Bet she felt bad,” Eddie rattled off, letting something else in the driver's seat a moment too long. Just because he knew he was projecting and wished he wasn’t didn’t mean that it was easy to change directions mid-stream.
“…Right. You know you’re acting weird.” Statement, not a question.
“Oh, totally. Win-loss ratio against my foot-in-mouth disease is brutal today.”
