Advertencia: La historias a contar a continuación no intenta ser 100% exacto a la historia de los dioses originales, solo intenta contar una historia por simple entretenimiento.

Los dioses a mencionar aquí, son los siguientes:

Xipe Tótec- El hermano mayor, el primero de los 4 hermanos, “Nuestro señor el desollado” es el dios de la regeneración del maíz y de la guerra; de la primavera y la nueva vegetación, por tal motivo, se le considera como un dios de la fertilidad, además, es patrono de los orfebres. También conocido como Tlatlauhqui Tezcatlipoca -Tezclatlipoca Rojo.

La leyenda dice que Xipe Tótec se auto-sacrificó en beneficio de la humanidad, sacándose los ojos y desollándose en vida para alimentar a las personas con su piel. 

Estaba tan estrechamente relacionado con los sacrificios que se le ofrecían que se le mostró con ellos como su iconografía central. El dios desollado de México usaba la piel de sus víctimas sobre su propio cuerpo. 

La cultura azteca está estrechamente asociada con brutales y sangrientos sacrificios humanos.

En la actualidad, en este pequeño mundo, el trabaja como cocinero y mantiene su propio restaurante, alimentando siglos y siglos a los humanos pero ahora de manera mas ‘’natural’’ pues cocina tanto vegetales como carne. Se alejo del dinero de la familia y logro mantener su restaurante en el mundo humano, es bastante alejado, y prefiere resolver sus problemas a resolver la de sus hermanos.

Tezcatlipoca- El segundo hermano mayor, el segundo en nacer, es una deidad omnipotente, omnipresente, omnisciente, viril y siempre joven, con una personalidad conflictiva y compleja, caprichosa y voluble, poco predecible;​ siendo el dios de la providencia, lo invisible, la oscuridad, creador del cielo y la tierra y señor de todas las cosas.

Se le atribuye el otorgamiento de cosas buenas y malas al hombre a su merced, era la encarnación misma del cambio a través del conflicto, por lo que en tiempos prehispánicos fue temido y reverenciado. 

Según el mito, Quetzalcóatl y Tezcatlipoca son dualidad y antagoniza cosmogónica. Quetzalcóatl es llamado también Tezcatlipoca blanco, en tanto que el color de Tezcatlipoca es el negro.

Tezcatlipoca gobernó el primer mundo del sol, pero luego fue derrocado por Quetzalcóatl. Sin embargo, ambos cooperaron más tarde para crear el quinto sol.

En la actualidad peleaba por la empresa que formaron el y Quetzalcoatl, ambos hermanos se empezaron a llevar muy mal, y la envidia de Tezcatlipoca, lo llevaría a muchas veces a conspirar contra su hermano. Frio y calculador, era lo que este dios representaba en todo momento.

Coyolxauhqui- Una diosa líder de los dioses de estrellas Centzon Huitznáhuac. quinta hermana, pero no parte de la creación, puesto que el verdadero y cuarto hermano, permanecía en la panza de la madre, el cual ella y otros dioses iban a eliminar por simbolizar deshonra.

El mito cuenta que Coyolxauhqui, furiosa al sospechar que su madre, Coatlicue, estaba embarazada de un desconocido (la cual en realidad fue embarazada por una bola de plumas que cayó desde el cielo y guardó en su vientre), guio a sus hermanos (los cuatrocientos surianos) hacia Coatepec, donde se encontraba su progenitora, para matarla, y así redimir la ofensa. 

Al llegar los hijos a Coatepec, Coatlicue dio a luz a Huitzilopochtli, quien vestido de guerrero y armado, nació listo para defender a su madre. El dios venció a sus hermanos, decapitó a su hermana, mandó su cabeza al cielo para que su madre pudiera verla cada noche y arrojó su cuerpo montaña abajo, por lo que este quedó desmembrado.

Así fue como Coyolxauhqui se convirtió en la representación de la Luna y sus hermanos pasaron a representar a la estrellas; así como el propio Huitzilopochtli se convirtió en una representación del Sol, que cada día vence a la Luna.

Tras un tratado de paz entre ella y su hermano menor, siendo ella la única sobreviviente a la masacre de Huitzilopochtli, ella al bajar a la tierra se convirtió en patinadora, trabaja como entrenadora de gimnasia rítmica, valed y yoga ( este ultimo lo practica en la actualidad) Y profesora de astronomía, es seria y rencorosa cuando se trata de su hermano menor, pero ante los demás es respetuosa y competitiva.

Huitzilopochtli- El hermano mas joven, el ultimo Tezcatlipoca Azul, protector y feroz, creador de los Mexicas, siendo su líder, dios y guia en toda su existencia. Dios de la guerra, la venganza, el poder, la dominación y el Sol.

​la relación entre Tezcatlipoca y Huitzilopochtli era más bien de hermano mayor y hermano menor respectivamente, donde la fiesta de Tóxcatl era dedicada al ‘‘dios descendiente’’ Tezcatlipoca y la de Panquetzaliztli, al ‘‘dios ascendente’’ Huitzilopochtli.

Siendo el mas joven y el hermano adoptivo de los tres hermanos creadores del universo, este interactivo dios, creo su vida a través de una miseria, puesto que puso en peligro a sus mejores creaciones, terminando por ser eliminada en la conquista, siendo para el la primera vez que sus lagrimas salían y lo dominaba una enorme tristeza, su hermano mayor Tezcatlipoca lo consoló por tal perdida y lo ayudo creando otra nueva era en la tierra de su vieja creación, y el bajando a la tierra para volverse un líder de guerra y paliaría muchas veces en tierras humanas.

Peleonero, guerrillero, atrevido, hipócrita, protector, vengativo y dominante, es algunas de las cosas que es parte de este dios, sintiéndose en deuda con  Tezcatlipoca lo apoya muchas veces en contra de Quetzalcoatl, aunque el dice que no tiene en nada en contra del dios serpiente emplumada. Es guardaespaldas de Tezcatlipoca y a peleado muchas veces contra otros dioses para probar su fuerza.

Earthquake Reveals Aztec Snakehead Beneath Mexico City

Researchers are conserving a rare snakehead from the Aztecs that still retains its painted colors from hundreds of years ago.

An earthquake last year revealed a big surprise beneath a law school in modern-day Mexico City: a giant, colorful snakehead from the Aztec Empire.

The snakehead dates back more than 500 years, to when the Aztecs controlled the area, which at the time was part of the flourishing capital of Tenochtitlan. The sculpture was discovered after a magnitude-7.6 earthquake struck Mexico City on Sept. 19, 2022; the seismic event caused damage and changes in the topography, revealing the snakehead beneath a building that was part of a law school at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) said in a Spanish-language statement.

The Aztecs built temples and pyramids and worshipped a number of deities, including Quetzalcoatl, who was often depicted as a snake. However, it's unclear if this sculpture depicts him, the archaeologists said.

The sculpted snake is 5.9 feet (1.8 meters) long, 2.8 feet (0.85 m) wide and 3.3 feet (1 m) high, and it weighs about 1.3 tons (1.2 metric tons), the INAH said. Several colors — including red, blue, black and white — are preserved on the sculpture.

Color was preserved on about 80% of the sculpture's surface. To keep it preserved, an INAH team lifted the snakehead out of the ground with a crane and constructed a humidity chamber around the sculpture. This chamber allows the sculpture to lose humidity gradually, with its color being preserved, María Barajas Rocha, a conservationist with the INAH who worked extensively on the sculpture, said in the statement.

While other snakehead sculptures have been found at Tenochtitlan, this one is particularly important for its preserved colors, said Erika Robles Cortés, an archaeologist with the INAH.

"Thanks to the context in which this piece was discovered, but above all, thanks to the stupendous intervention of the restorers-conservators led by Maria Barajas, it has been possible to stabilize the colors for its preservation in almost all the sculpture, which is extremely important, because the colors have helped us to conceive pre-Hispanic art from another perspective," Robles Cortés told Live Science in an email.

The sculpture's "sheer size is impressive, as well as its artistry," but the survival of the colors is remarkable, said Frances Berdan, a professor emeritus of anthropology at California State University, San Bernardino who was not involved with the excavation. "The survival of black, white, red, yellow, and blue paints is particularly interesting — one gains a good image of the visual impact of such sculptures as they were arrayed about the city center," Berdan said in an email.

In addition to its preserved colors, the snakehead's size is notable, said Bertrand Lobjois, an associate professor of humanities at the University of Monterrey in Mexico who is not involved in the excavation. The "first time I saw this serpent head, I was dazzled by its dimensions," he said in an email.

Lobjois also praised the conservation work that allowed the colors to survive, noting that "the conservation process allows us to appreciate the naturalistic approach of figuration" the Aztec artists used.

This work is ongoing and will continue at the site into next year.

The four Tezcatlipocas have an insane family dynamic just think about it:

-Huitzilopochtli is the serious kingly leader that tries just a smidge too hard to be funny

-Quetzalcoatl is the nice one that can probably turn on a dime if you piss him off bad enough

-Tezcatlipoca is the one who commits destruction of property for shits and giggles and he gets away with it all the time, because why wouldn't he he's a god

-Xipe Totec is the usually gentle tactical one that's also on the last strand of his sanity trying to keep his family intact (I feel bad for him if he thinks they'll ever be normal)

-And then there's Coyolxauhqui, Huitzilopochtli's sister that isn't part of the four Tezcatlipocas and whom we never talk about like ever.

Practicando un estilo de dibujo a blanco y lineas negras y al mismo tiempo ponerle un poco mas de cintura a los personajes XD

El trio de hermanos menores, ( aunque Quetzalcóatl es mas bien un hermano del medio, pero bueno :v) 

Datos curiosos:

Quetzalcóatl es un hermano pacifico en su mayor parte, pero cuando la lucha lo llama no duda ni un segundo en participar.

Huitzilopochtli es un guerrero, siempre desea luchar hasta el punto que lucharía contra otros dioses. Tras la derrota de su pueblo, el desea superar a cualquier dios del mundo, para que sus nuevos ciudadanos nunca pierdan una batalla y desaparezcan para siempre.

Xólotl nunca se trasforma en humano al menos que la situación lo demeritara, cuando desapareció Quetzalcoatl, Xólotl volvió a su forma humana para ayudar con la deuda. 

Xólotl solo cuenta con 4 dedos en manos y pies.

Tanto Quetzalcoatl como Huitzilopochtli son representantes del sol, y seres con plumas. Huitzil se trasforma en águila real y Quetzalcoatl en un Quetzal o en su forma pequeña de la serpiente emplumada.

La calaverita de Xólotl cambia constantemente, puesto que son creadas por la hija de los señores del mictlan, Catrina, ella le creo esas calaveritas decoradas para el.

Huitzilopochtli, solo desea una lucha contra alguien poderoso, y no es tan temperamental como lo parece, es bastante tranquilo cuando esta rodeado de sus ciudadanos. Pero si es bastante vengativo.

El collar de Huitzilopochtli es su arma y amigo, la serpiente de fuego  Xiuhcóatl, dios del fuego y del tiempo, quien lo ayudo a vengar la muerte de su madre en manos de sus 400 hermanos.

Huitzilopochtli es adoptado por los padres de los 3 dioses de la creación, tras la muerte de su madre quien estaba mal herida y lo hizo nacer a el con sus ultimas fuerzas. Y el la vengaría con ayuda de  Xiuhcóatl y convertiría a su hermana parte de la luna y sus estaciones. Aunque actualmente todo es mas pacifico y su arma toma un descanso en un sueño eterno como un collar, y es un sueño eterno porque no habido nadie que obligue a Huitzilopochtli a sacarlo.

It’s Fine Press Friday!

This week we present Oaxaca (wa-ha-ka) and the Saguaro (Sa-wah-row) Cactus (A Twice-told Tale) designed, written, illustrated, printed, and bound by American book artist Joe D’Ambrosio (1934-2009), printed in 1996 in a limited edition of 125 copies in Phoenix, Arizona. The book relates the legend of how and why Saguaro cacti are found only in the desert.

Caotlicue, goddess of the Earth and patron of life and death, strikes down a human whom the feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl has fallen in love with, as she is human and he is a god. Quetzalcoatl creates the saguaro to mark the maiden's grave. The hunter Oaxaca encounters the saguaro and then the ghost of the maiden, who tells him that she can be released if the saguaro is removed. But Caotlicue tells him the maiden can be revived if Oaxaca eliminates the cactus and marries the maiden. To this end, Caotlicue sends Oaxaca on a quest for a daisy that will kill the cactus.

Along the way, Oaxaca meets and falls in love with another woman, Siouxi. They both return with the daisy, but Quetzalcoatl kills Oaxaca. Siouxi convinces the two gods to bring Oaxaca back to life and turn the maiden into a goddess in order to be with Quetzalcoatl. Brilliant solution! In return, Quetzalcoatl has the daisy attached to the Saguaro as a symbol of his power and commands that the cactus, the humans, and their descendants may never leave the desert.

This fantastical story also comes with commentary from the author about the lack of believability of such a tale, but he does tell the reader that they will have to “proceed on the assumption that there is some truth to [the] story.”

The book is Illustrated throughout with color prints made from paper plates by D’Ambrosio, with hand-colored pop-up illustrations and 14 pt Antique type printed on two different colors of Confetti paper. Our copy is another donation from the collection of our late friend Dennis Bayuzick.

Actually Mexican here and Quetzalcoatl isn’t like. Closed to other people at all. He’s part of our culture but he’s not forbidden. I feel like everyone’s just yelling over us. The story is a problem, but I was excited to see part of my culture represented in the design, and now people want it removed entirely.

i just to be honest feel like some people intentionally try to see a design in the most bad faith possible reading because a lot of online culture in the past few decades has been about seeing who is the most morally superior. I enjoy the design and I think it’s pretty easy to just adjust some wording in the short story to remove the parts that rubbed people wrong.
