#Harry and Gil are happy-lots of kids are already off the isle
Note
I'm sure someone already though of this but I'll say it anyway because it's stuck in my head and I need to get it out.
Zombies x Descendants crossover. Meeting each other. Villains and Zombies meeting and sympathizing with each other because OBVIOUSLY. Auradon and Seabrook...doing whatever they do.
Thoughs?
Oh I definitely have Thoughts.
And unfortunately, you all have to see them too.
Let's say the Zombie protagonists are the same age as the Descendants protagonists, yeah?
The Zombies and the Isle kids definitely get eachother. Like, a lot.
That said, Addison is dragging about 99% of Descendants kids to therapy, personally. As she should, tbh.
The Zombies coach is utterly exactic because a lot of both Auradon and Isle boys end up playing football.
The pirates end up in cheer, though. I mean, it's shiny.
Also, turns out, the pirates (read: Harry and Uma) have the chronic inability to say „no“ to Addison Wells, Sunshine Personified.
As have the Werewolves.
Which is how the groups meet.
The wolf pack and the Lost Revenge crew gets locked in a staring contest in the locker room, mutually thinking something along the lines of „What the fuck is wrong with them??“. Some people might or might not have been bitten. Don't ask.
I need A-lli to meet Audrey Rose. Just. Them.
„I AM in harmony, just in like, a super-hostile way!“
„It's okay, deep breaths.“ *kicks the mothership*
They are allowed to have emotions for like two days and immediately choose violence and Iove them, your honour.
Audrey could also vibe with Bucky? Two flashy strong-headed cheer Captains? ...Then again, they might just try to kill eachother.
On the other hand, Harry meeting A-spen would be such a disaster.
„Such passion!“ „Dude, no. She wants to rip your heart out.“ „She can have it!“
And, you know. Everything Harry Hook has ever done. („Hey, she's the Captain I'm the first mate, enemies sea sick can't see straight. Call them fish bait, throw them on a hook, Uma's so hot they get burned if they look!“)
Uma and Wylla are having lots of fun though. (The most intense double dates you have EVER seen, once the pirates and the Werewolves get over their initial mutual, ehm, extreme distrust.)
Faciliers kind of. Try to find out if the Zombies can be controlled via voodoo magic? Like the risen-from-dead?
(It would be really funny if they could. And the sisters wouldn't exploit it. Too much.)
I think that some Isle kids are definitely low-key disappointed that the zombies don't eat real brains. Like, it's a scam, that's what it is.
Marya Rasputin still freaks out everyone when she casually pops off her hand at her wrist. („What?! I thought they all could do that!“)
Everyone is almost mortally offended that Seabrook has one (1) ice cream flavour.
Well, everyone except for Ben. He likes Vanilla. And Gil, who is just generally happy to have ice cream.
Evie and Eliza are definitely getting a little sabotage ✨ done and they are not getting caught.
Look, Seabrook might have gotten its redemption arc, but Auradon is far from it. And Eliza likes being a revolutionary.
Between Eliza, Wylla, Uma and Evie, King Beast decides to take a very sudden holiday, ideally very far from the sea and the forests.
Fairy Godmother decides to visit him about two weeks later, when all electricity in her house stopped working, the sprinkler system was on nonstop, the carnivores nearby went haywire and somehow, all of her food have gone bad. Oh, also a few fires, courtesy of the Hook sisters. Miraculously, as soon as the fires went on, the sprinklers went off.
(you know, a little sabotage? The girls are having fun.)
(I just want to make her suffer.)
The Aceys are dating and keep getting confused when upon learning this, the Isle kids solemly nod their heads and state: „Ah, yes. Mutually destructive threesome. We have all seen it.“
Cheerful Addy explains that „Don't worry, it's an Isle thing!“ and even more cheerful CJ tries to set up another double date. It does not go well.
Actually I think CJ would adore Addy too? I mean. Everyone loves Addy.
Mal is bitter over it and, like, she had it coming.
Oh, the Isle... Addison has so much to say about the Isle.
(She tracks down King Beast after about three days of his holiday, solely by asking people if they know where the former king is really nicely.)
I feel like she'd drag Ben out on, like, platonic dates? Hang out. Have fun. It was not right for teenagers to lead a revolution and it is not right for a teenager to be a king.
Surprisingly, I think that Mal should hang with Bonzo. Chill out. Spray paint a bit and zen away. It would be good for her. Bree brings them cookies.
They have guns, right? Because CJ is giving a gun to Eliza and Lonnie. A gift. She is practicing her Goodness, and Addy said gifts are a great way to get closer to people!
Just. Addison manages to befriend literally everyone?? And I love her??
Again, if I think of anything else, or, like, coherent plot for the crossover, I'll let you know!

You woke up to Evie gently pushing at your shoulder Hey, we’re back” she whispered, carefully stepping over your legs and out of the limo, Carlos and Dude exiting just behind her. You groaned as you released Harry's hand and unwound your arm from around his shoulder, you cupped his cheek, and rubbed your thumb against it to wake him up.
Gil stretched and groaned as his back cracked, he looked down and poked Harry's forehead “Dude, come on wake up, we’re home” Harry slowly blinked awake, wincing in pain as he slowly sat up “Woah are you still hurting?”
“Sore” Harry muttered,  letting his head fall back on the seat as he tried to stretch out his legs “I think Mal's spell took away the main stuff but I gotta deal with the end healing shit”
“ouch,” you muttered, grabbing onto Harry's hands and tugging him out of the car “come on, let's get you a hot shower or something, you need to relax after the last two days, and plus you don’t smell all that good” Harry snorted at that and grabbed onto the door frame to lean on as he got out of the limo.
“yeh try being a nasty ass cell for two days with no bathroom” he joked, giving you a soft smile when you just looked at him. “sorry, yeh know that’s how I deal with stuff love” you rolled your eyes and pressed a kiss to his cheek.
“yeah yeah, come on” you intertwined your hand with Harry’s and walked after the others who were just a little ways ahead of you. Gil stepped to Harry’s other side and tossed his arm around his neck, not wanting to let go yet.
Lonnie walked off towards the school building, waving the group goodbye as she went to go put away the fencing swords.
“Ben! There you are!” Jane rushed up to Ben's side, holding her tablet in her arms “Cotillion is tomorrow!” she ushered him closer, showing him the stained-glass window design “This is your design for Mal's window, isn’t it beautiful she’s gonna love it!” Ben turned away from Jane and leaned close to Mal, whispering to her;
“Hey…should we cancel?” Mal looked up at him, if they suddenly canceled the day before the cotillion, the press would go wild, and Mal didn’t know how to deal with that.
She slightly shook her head, Jane saw their looks and attempted to backtrack for a bit to come back later. You smiled at Harry and walked up to Ben, tapping his shoulder to make him turn to you.
“Tomorrow is exactly six months since the vks came, just change what we're celebrating” you whispered, Mal and Ben, grinning at you as you said it.
“Actually…that's perfect” Ben muttered, turning back to Jane and nodding at her “Yeah, um, no it's fine…looks good.” he turned to Mal, nodding at her “Do whatever you need to do” she nodded back, watching him walk off with Jane.
Evie linked her arm with Mal’s and started to guide her to a private area “We need to talk” Evie muttered, Mal letting out a small sigh, she had already explained mostly everything on the isle, but there were still some things to be said.
“Yeah” Mal muttered back, the two girls stopped as Carlos stepped behind them.
“No.” Evie and Mal turned, their brows furrowed in confusion.
“No?” Evie asked, slightly appalled at Carlos’ random objection.
Carlos licked his lips, glancing at Jay before looking back at the girls “you guys are always going off in a huddle, whispering your…girl-talk stuff, or whatever…and Jay and I are tired of it!” Jay shook his head immediately, holding up his hands a bit.
“I’m not.” he shrugged as Carlos glared at him a bit. Carlos rolled his eyes and looked back at Mal and Evie.
“We’re you’re family too. We’ve been through a lot, together…and I’m not stopping that now, okay?” it was a moment of silence as everyone stared at Carlos, who watched Mal as she nodded in agreement. With her approval, Carlos looked to Jay and Evie “Everyone sit” he plopped down to the ground, looking up at everyone as they just raised their brows “Come on” as Jay, Evie, and Mal slowly sat down on the grass, Carlos turned, stopping you, Gil, and Harry in your tracks as you walked towards the dorms. “you too!”
You gestured to Harry, who was about two seconds from falling asleep again “I said everyone sit, this is a mandatory VK meeting” he yelled, smirking as Gil shrugged and helped Harry over to the circle, Harry sitting down next to Carlos as Gil plopped down next to Jay. You shuffled your feet awkwardly before Carlos turned back and nodded his head towards the circle “I said all of us, that includes honorary VKs” you gave a small smile and walked over, sitting down next to Harry and snorting a bit as he leaned into you, arm wrapping around your waist.
It was silent for a moment as everyone stared at each other awkwardly, before Carlos broke the silence again. “I don’t know how to start girl talk” you snorted, pressing your face into Harry’s side.
Jay pursed his lips, shrugging a bit “what up?” Evie laughed a bit, as Mal took a deep breath.
“Well…I’m a mess” she started, letting out a sigh as she started to pull grass from the ground “I’m such a fucking mess, like-six months ago I was stealing candy from babies and planning to take over the world and now-now everyone seems to want me to be this picture-perfect princess who never messes up and I’m just so stressed because it was such a sudden change and I've been freaking out for the last five months? And-and I broke up with Ben because I realized that I’m NOT ready for a relationship yet and-and it was moving so damn fast-and” Mal was speaking so quickly she hardly had time to take a breath. You finally decided to butt in, grabbing onto her moving hand.
“Woah woah woah, slow down Mal, take a long deep breath and hold it” Mal followed your instructions, taking a deep breath and holding it as you held your hand up. “Now let it go, slowly” as you lowered your hand, Mal followed with releasing her breath, her slightly glowing stressed eyes calming as her shoulders slumped “Better?”
She gave a watery smile and nodded, reaching up and rubbing at her eyes to rid of the stress tears “Yeah, thank you” you nodded, squeezing her hand before letting it go and leaning back against Harry.
“Now, Mal” she looked back up at you “ I’m going to give it to you straight, all of what you just ranted about? Your fault” Evie gasped, grabbing onto Mal's shoulders and attempting to rebuttal but Mal knocked her hands off and sighed.
“No Evie, I need to hear this, I’m not six years old needing to be given the happy dappy glitter version of everything” she looked back at you, nodding for you to continue.
You nodded back “Having to be ‘a perfect princess’? no one ever made you do that, that was all on your own. The fast relationship with Ben…okay that’s on both of you, yall NEVER talk about anything and in Auradon, it’s filled with people who get married after knowing each other for three hours, so it's on him for not asking you if you were okay with moving that fast and it's on you for not telling him you aren’t comfortable moving that fast.” Mal pressed her lips together and nodded, looking down at her hands that were clenched on her pants. “and good on you for breaking up with Ben” she looked back up with wide eyes “because in my world, yall “broke up” for like three hours before getting back together, into a toxic relationship might I add, so I’m proud of you for taking the mature step and breaking up with him…for what reason?” Mal shrugged.
“Mental stuff, it was going too fast and he kinda…doesn’t help with my…what did you call it?” you hummed and looked off for a moment.
“um, god complex?” she pointed at you and nodded.
“Yeah that, he doesn’t…try to call me out on anything, like-yes he got angry with me for using magic to cheat with my lady of the court stuff and I get why he got angry with me, but…he doesn’t call me out on the important stuff like….okay two months ago, I royally fucked up with Jane and I kinda…insulted her, I didn’t mean to but it slipped out and, Ben was right there and he did…nothing, no ‘Mal that was mean go apologize’ no ‘Mal think before you speak’ nothing, he just stood there and acted like I had done nothing wrong!” you clicked your tongue.
“He did that with Audrey too, she's more passive-aggressive on things and petty as all hell, and when she would, well, insult Jane for her hair, or Lonnie for preferring sports over mani-pedis, he acted like she didn’t say anything at all. That’s something he needs to work on, and I think he does that because of his parents.” The vks looked at you confused “Well look at them, Beast locked all the villains away on an isle and kept you all on there as if you had done something to the people in Auradon, when you didn’t you are all innocent kids just trying to survive, not once did Belle speak up against that, and that’s something she passed down to Ben, she ignores the red flags in someone because she loves him and in turn that encourages his behavior! That’s what Ben does with you and what he did with Audrey, you both have some nasty habits, Audrey’s passive-aggressiveness, and your lying tendencies.
He needs to see that what he has been taught is wrong, just like you’re learning what was wrong with your parent's teachings, you don’t need to lie or cheat your way through life, sometimes just being true to yourself and others gets you farther than anything else. Ben needs to learn that he doesn’t have to stand by and watch as everything else happens around him, he was able to break free of that before with bringing you six over but then…he lost it, and I don’t know what happened but he was so adamant of giving you guys a chance and was protective over you and then….I don’t know, he just…changed”
It was a few moments of tense silence as the VKs realized Ben had changed throughout the last couple of months.  You waved off your rand “Sorry, that got away from me there, but we can talk about it properly later, but Mal, no one forced you to change, no one, that was all you. And I know you were only thinking of being accepted by the people of Auradon but that wasn’t good, you don’t NEED to be accepted by everyone in the world, you don’t NEED to be liked by everyone, because there's always going to be a handful of people who don’t, and that’s okay. What's important now is that you find yourself and become a better person in turn, yeah?”
Mal took a shuddering breath and nodded, giving you a tight-lipped smile. “Yeah…thank you (y/n)” she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around you tightly “I needed that”
You patted her back “I’m always here to give it to you straight” Mal pulled back and rubbed her eyes.
“Well…this was dumb” Jay muttered, starting to stand when Evie stopped him.
“Maybe it wasn’t” she took Mal's hand, smiling at you for a moment before looking back at the vks “We’re always gonna be the kids from the isle…I tried to forget it…I really tried. But those are our roots, and I know you two, Harry and Gil” they perked up a bit, raising their brows “never tried to forget it like I did…or Mal did. But there's really nothing to be ashamed of for being from the isle, because it made us into who we are today, we’re villain kids, and that’s never going to change.” Harry, Gil, and Carlos gave her a look as if they were saying.
‘We were never trying to change it but okay?’ Evie waved her hand at them in dismissal.
“Point is, there is no reason we have to change for anybody because who we are right now, is great…because it’s us” Mal smiled at Evie and leaned into her side, squeezing her hand “and if they don’t like us for being isle kids….tough shit” you cackled at that.
“oohohoh! The princess swore! Not something you hear every day!” Evie rolled her eyes as the rest of the VKs laughed at your remark. She turned to Mal.
“I’m going to make some changes to your dress, and if you’re up for it, only if you’re up for it…it'll be waiting for you” Mal nodded, leaning into Evie as she wrapped her arms around Mal's shoulders and hugged her.
Evie looked at you and mouthed; ‘thank you’ you nodded back and stood, holding out your hand to Harry and helping him stand. The others stood moments later and started walking towards the dorms, Jay's arm tossed over Mal's shoulder as they walked side by side.
You sighed, turning to Harry with a smile “How bout a self-care afternoon huh?” Harry grinned at that and nodded, leaning into you as you took his hand again and walked back to the dorms.
“I’m starving, see you guys later!” Gil walked the opposite way of you, waving you goodbye as he walked over to the cafeteria.
“See ya Gil!” you yelled back, leaning your head on Harry’s shoulder as he moved his arm around your neck.
-
Carlos smirked as Jane rushed past him with a panicked look. “Jane!” he called, laughing a bit as the girl jumped and spun around to look at him.
“Carlos!” she rushed up to him and grabbed his shoulder “do you know where Gil is?!” Carlos snickered and pointed towards the cafeteria.
“yeah, he went to go get food, good luck!” Jane grinned at Carlos and spun on her heel, running towards the cafeteria, pulling out a small box and a sparkly blue envelope from her bag.
It was only one more day till cotillion! And she didn’t want to risk losing Gil to someone else asking him to it…and she didn’t want to ladle punch AGAIN.
“Gil!” he spun around, a small smile growing on his face as she got closer.
“Hey Jane what’s-woah!” she tripped on thin air and flew forward, Gil lunged forward, easily catching her and setting her back on her feet “Careful Jane! Don’t wanna hurt that pretty face of yours” Janes face burned at Gil's words “Sorry, slip of the tongue again heh” he rubbed the back of his neck, glancing back at the cafeteria “So um-what did you…oh!”
Jane looked to the ground and shoved the box and envelope towards Gil. he gently took them from her and opened the box first, humming at the Orange and Blue decorated cupcake that sat inside, he quickly pulled it out, handed the box back to Jane, and ate it. Smirking as Jane giggled at the dollop of orange buttercream on his nose.
He finished off the cupcake and wiped the dollop of blue edible sprinkle covered buttercream off his nose and licked it. He opened the letter and let out a small gasp.
Written on the letter, in Jane’s curly neat handwriting; was an invitation to him.
Tumblr media
He slowly looked up from the letter, smiling a bit as he looked at her shy form, her hands covering her burning red cheeks. He folded the letter ad put it in his pocket, reaching out and gently grasping Jane's hands and pulling them off her face. He chuckled at her closed eyes and leaned forward, pecking her forehead. Jane squeaked and looked up at him, her entire face turning red as she stared at him. “You can take that as a Yes, I forgave you a while ago after you made me a cake after your…fiftieth, apology” he laughed “Well I forgave you before that but I realized I still liked you when you did that” Jane giggled, then stopped.
“You-you still like me?” she mumbled, covering her mouth as if she had spilled the world's biggest secret. Gil nodded, smiling as Jane squeaked again.
“I do, and I would be happy to go to cotillion with you…wait our outfits, what if they don’t match?!” he stood, running his fingers through his hair as his eyes blew wide. Jane laughed, reaching out and grabbing his hands.
“Okay okay! I have-I have a solution” she giggled for a moment at his confused yet relieved look “Evie has some ribbon leftover from my dress, you can wear it as a hair tie! And I-I’ll wear one of your bracelets!” Gil grinned, bouncing in place a bit.
“That sounds amazing! Yeah, let's do that” some passing students smiled and shook their heads at the excited maybe-once-again-couple and entered the cafeteria.
“and-and maybe if you don’t hate me again after all of this, maybe, maybe we can get back together?” Jane tried, squealing as Gil nodded and leaned in to kiss her cheek.
“that would be amazing Jane” Gil hummed, rubbing the girl's arms and looking back at the cafeteria “um, food?” Jane clapped her hands, grabbing one of Gils and pulling him into the building.
“Yes! Food!”
-
You turned off the hot running water and stuck your hand into the bubbly hot bathwater, nodding to yourself. “Kay Harry, it's ready!” you shook your hand off and dried it on your pants, walking out of your pretty large bathroom and cooing as you walked out to see Harry curled up on your bed “okay I know you're tired but!”
you climbed onto the bed and gently shook his shoulder, pouting at him as he grumpily looked up at you “you need to take a bath, you stink, your dirty, and it'll help with the soreness” Harry let out a harsh breath, blowing your hair back a bit and sat up, undoing his shoes and letting them drop to the floor, tossing his jacket back at you and walking into the bathroom.
He closed the door and you heard the sound of clothing hit the floor as you gathered up his jacket and hung it in your closet. You walked back over to the bathroom and yelled through the door; “I’m gonna get some   comfy clothes for you okay?!” “Thank yeh love” he yelled back sleepily, you smiled as you heard the sound of water being splashed around. You kicked his fallen boots out of the way and went to his shared room with Gil. you let out a small sigh as you rummaged through his dresser and pulled out a soft long-sleeved shirt with a compass stitch on the chest, black sweatpants, a pair of boxer briefs, deciding to grab a pair of his socks as well before shutting the drawers and walking back to your room.
You knocked on the bathroom door and pushed it open, peeking around the corner to see harry almost completely in the water, only his head to be seen above the bubbles. His bright blue eyes staring straight at you. You lifted up the pile of clothes “got you a change of clothes, they will be on the counter for you when you’re ready” you set the pile on the counter opposite of the bath and turned to walk out of the bathroom to give him some privacy when he whined and reached out to you. You turned with an exasperated laugh “I swear you were a cat with separation anxiety in your past life or something” you snorted, walking over to the bathtub and crouching down next to it, your eyes level with Harry’s now. “Not that it’s a bad thing though.”
He hung his arm over the edge of the tub, making a grabby hand at you and grinning sleepily when you intertwined your fingers with his. You rested your chin on the edge of the bathtub and closed your eyes, just enjoying the peace that you finally had with Harry after a crazy two days of him being missing.
Wait- you perked up, looking down at the water and smirking as the water was no longer clear, but blue and shimmery and smelling of lavender, ocean salt, and a slight hint of vanilla. “You used my bath bombs didn’t you~” you teased, lifting up Harry's hand and pressing your lips to the back of it. He gave a shy smile and shrugged.
“It looked nice” he mumbled, closing his eyes and resting his head against the back of the tub.
“Well, it's fine, go crazy with my shit, anything to help you relax” you sat up and pressed a kiss to his forehead “You deserve some pampering after the days you’ve had” he hummed with a dopey smile on his face, cracking his eyes open as you stood and walked away. As he whined, you turned, smiling as he pouted at you. “I’ll be just outside the door baby” he turned red at the pet name and turned away from you. You chuckled and closed the door most of the way “I’ll leave the door open, yell if you need anything.”
“Kay” was his only response, you snorted a bit and turned, putting your hands on your hips as you overlooked your room…time to do a little R&R redecorating.
First, hang fairy lights above your bed, next, get some big ass blankets and sheets…there should be some extras in the back of your closet.
-
Half an hour after he got in the bath, Harry narrowed his eyes at the large grey basket slightly hidden in the nook below your bathroom counter. You did say he could use any of your stuff. He pulled at the box, smiling a bit at the array of self-care items, ranging from simple face wash to charcoal foam face masks and the little paddles that allowed easy appliance.
He ran his hand through his freshly shampooed hair, which smelled like (fav shampoo/conditioner), and the waft of your (fav body wash smell) body wash floating up, making him inhale your sent with a smile.
He let out a little sigh and rummaged through the basket, brow-raising as he spotted an exfoliating mud mask. He pulled out the small container it was in and nodded, it would do. He grabbed a small bottle of face moisturizer and stood, walking to the door and pulling it open, mouth dropping open at what he saw.
The curtains to your room were closed, shutting it in near darkness, the only light being the soft yellow fairy lights that hung just above your bed, hidden from the rest of the room by large sheets and blankets laying across the bedposts and pinned to the walls.
“Wow,” he muttered, walking into the room and setting the cosmetics on the bed, sitting down and smiling up at the soft lights.
“Like it?” he nodded as you re-entered the room and set your now full bag next to him, he looked down at the bag, tilting his head curiously “I got some snacks that I didn’t have in my room” you pulled out a bag of popped popcorn and handed him the bag, he carefully opened it as you got out more snacks and set them on the bed “So I was thinking, movie cuddle afternoon, and then…I was thinking I could paint your nails?” you suggested, squealing a bit in happiness as Harry grinned at you and nodded “really?” “Aye, sounds fun, what color?” he stuck a handful of popcorn in his mouth and looked at you, smiling as you flicked off stray corn from his lip.
“Black to red ombre, then-your hair is still wet” you sighed, turning to walk back into the bathroom and grab a dry towel. You walked back up to harry and motioned for him to lean towards you, he obeyed and you ruffled the towel in his hair, biting your lip as it already started to floof up. “Actually” you stopped, throwing the towel around his neck and turning back to the bathroom “Better idea”
Harry bobbed his head a bit, listening to the non-existent music in his head as you did whatever in the bathroom. His eyes dropped a bit as he reached next to him and grabbed the box of fruit snacks.
“There we go” he perked up a bit as you suddenly appeared beside him with a hairdryer “Stand up” Harry looked at you with squinted eyes as you plugged the device into the socket next to your bed, eyes following you as you moved to stand in front of him “…Alright then” you stepped up on the bed next to him and plopped down behind him, grabbing his shoulder and guiding him to lean into you.
He happily did so and almost purred as you started to dry his hair, your fingers rubbing comfortingly at his scalp. Five minutes later and Harry was almost asleep, heavily leaning into your hand as you gently guided it around to dry his hair properly. As you felt the warm dry fluffy hair, you nodded to yourself and turned off the hair drier, setting it next to you and letting your hands run through Harry's hair.
He groaned a bit and fell back, cheek resting against your collar bone as you scratched his head. Harry suddenly jumped as a knock suddenly sounded on your door. You gently lifted him out of your lap and let him flop back on the blankets.
You walked over to the door and opened it “Oh!” you stepped outside and closed the door behind you “Fergus! What’s up?”
He furrowed his brows, looking down at your outfit. You glanced down, wincing a bit “That…outfit aside. Ah haven't seen ye or Harry fur a'maist twa days, is everything okay?” you pursed your lips in thought, before sighing.
“Mal went back to the isle and Harry went with her” you held up your hand to stop him from interrupting “Both of them are back now and Harry went through some shit when he was there, right now we're both just relaxing until tomorrow…okay?” Fergus glanced back up at your door and slowly nodded.
“Harry...he's okay sricht?” you paused, Fergus’s eyes widened for a moment “Ye hesitated” he pointed out, gritting his teeth anxiously as you waved him off.
“I did…Harry’s dad is a piece of shit that’s all I’ll say, if you need to know anything else, either ask Harry or ask me to get permission from him, I won't just blab away about what happened” Fergus nodded, reaching up and patting your shoulder.
“A'richt then... I’ll see ye twa efter okay?” you smiled at him and patted his arm, turning to walk back into your room.
“See you later” you opened the door and stepped inside, shutting the door with your foot. You looked down at your outfit and sighed, you were still in full isle gear, minus the hook and sword. You shrugged off Harry’s jacket and tossed it on your desk chair.
You walked over to your dresser and grabbed one of Harry’s black long sleeves that you had commandeered from him a few weeks back and a pair of black sweats.
You walked over to the bathroom, cooing at Harry already curled up in your large red fluffy blanket, tufts of dark brown-black hair peeking out from the top and light snores reaching your ears.
You walked into the bathroom and quickly changed, you walked back out and placed your boots next to Harry’s, and chucked your old set of clothes into your laundry.
You cleaned up the scattered snacks on the bed and set them on your table set by your tv. You grabbed the cosmetics Harry had put on your bed and walked over to the side he was mostly laying on, shaking his shoulder a bit. He grumbled and popped his head out of the folds of the blanket, sleepy ocean blue staring into you “Don’t you want to do the face stuff?” he slowly nodded as his mind caught up to your words and sat up, the blanket falling around his hips. He patted his cheeks to wake himself a bit and grabbed the items from you, spreading the mud mask on his face as you turned on the tv and went through your movies.
“So, what are we watching” you asked, tilting your head towards Harry a bit, wanting to hear what his maybe request would be.
“Um, Ah dinnae know...something lighthearted?” he tried, his accent slipping deeper than usual. You giggled a bit, poor baby, so tired.
“Um, how bout…Pirates of the Caribbean; Dead man's chest?” Harry almost snapped awake at that, he grinned and nodded enthusiastically. “Okay, it's not light-hearted buts it a hella good movie”
You put in the blue-ray disc and walked back over to the bathroom, taking out your black and red nail polish, along with the top and bottom coats. “Alright scooch forward” Harry did so, eyes locked onto the Tv. You sat behind him, legs on either side of his torso, and grabbed onto his shoulder, pulling him towards your chest, his head resting just beneath your chin. “Hand please” he lifted his right hand, letting you grab onto it and start painting his nails.
The next twenty minutes of you painting his nails and him watching the movie were silent and calming, you felt Harry almost drift off multiple times before snapping back awake when someone spoke or action exploded on the screen. You cursed as you had forgotten the hardening nail UV light thing to let Harry move his hands without worrying about ruining the polish. You patted his shoulder, making him whine again as your warmth disappeared from his back. You returned moments later, resuming the position you had and hardening the polish on his nails.
You glanced at his face, admiring the flutter of his lashes as he fought off sleep, before the mud mask caught your eye “shit!” you once more got off the bed, laughing a bit at Harry's loud complaint as you got a washcloth wet “your mask dummy!” he shut up, scooching towards you as you walked toward him with the wet and warm cloth.
He grabbed it from you and cleaned off the mask, stopping a bit as you opened the bottle of moisturizer and dolloped some on your finger. He dried his face with his sleeve and hummed as you dabbed it on his face and rubbed it into his skin for him “Ta loue” he murmured, you gave him a look and snorted.
“um, English please?” you laughed, pecking his nose and moisturizing your face before putting away the cosmetics.
Harry pouted and shook his head “Thank yeh love” he murmured again, smiling sleepily as you grinned at him.
“You’re welcome baby” you grinned as his face turned pink again. “Come on, how does falling asleep to Pirates of the Caribbean sound?” Harry grinned, tightening his grip on your fluffy red blanked and waiting for you to lay down on the bed before flopping on your chest and nuzzling into your neck.
You felt Harry’s soft breath on your neck as his body relaxed, you closed your eyes, reaching up and placing your hand on the back of his neck, rubbing your thumb as you pressed a soft kiss to his forehead.
“A loue ye (y/n)” a soft whisper brushed against your senses, only able to be heard because your ear was right next to his mouth.
You felt a tear slip down your cheek and you wrapped your other arm around his shoulder and held him tighter.
“I love you too Harry”

Tumblr media
Everyone in Auradon has a soulmate, the problem is that not all of them meet. A compass appears on one's arm on their fifteenth birthday. The arrow will point in the direction of the person’s soulmate without fail, even if it’s always pointing at the Isle of the Lost. like mine always has.
When Ben first decided to bring kids over from the Isle, I was in full support. I gave him the idea when we were kids. So, naturally I defended his plan to our parents, which ultimately convinced them that it was an alright plan. I was always the strategic twin, the one that thought everything through and had about five backup plans for everything. I even plan out how conversations will go before they happen, just so I know how to respond.
But the problem with Ben’s plan was that he stopped after the first group of kids, he found his soulmate. He found Mal, and he seemed to forget that there were so many other children on the Isle that were suffering and wanted a better life. I’m sure if Ben knew my soulmate was over there still he would have continued to bring more kids over, but he didn’t know. No one knew, I was always so sure that there would be an uproar if both the Prince and Princess had soulmates from the Isle. So I told no one, not Ben and not Audrey, my best friend.
My infatuation with the Isle always ran deeper than everyone else. Audrey detested everyone that was on it, Ben wanted to save the kids after we turned fifteen, but I was always obsessed with it. Even before my Compass appeared. Maybe I’m too trusting, but I think they’ve been punished enough on the Isle.
“Ben, you promised you would bring more kids over,” I reminded him as we sat in his study.
“I know, but it’s harder than it looks,” Ben sighs, running a hand through his hair.
Ben-” I was cut off by a knock on the door.
“Sorry to interrupt,” Evie smiles apologetically. “But Ben, it’s Mal. She went back to the Isle.”
“It’s all my fault!” my twin exclaims. “I-I blew it. She’d been under so much pressure lately, and instead of being understanding, I just went all Beast on her. I have to go there and apologize. I have to go there and- and beg her to come back.”
“Ben, you’ll never find her,” Evie frowns. “You need to know how the Isle and how it works and...you have to take me with you.”
“Yes!” Ben exclaims causing me to frown at him. Seeing my look he adds, “Uh are you sure?”
“Yeah. She is my best friend and we'll bring the boys too, because there's safety in numbers, and none of us is really too popular over there right now,” I can hear how nervous she sounds.
“Thank you!” Ben smiles.
“I’m going too,” I interject.
“No! (Y/N) you are staying right here where it’s safe,” Ben growls.
“I can handle it Ben, I’m better at sword fighting than you. I can take care of myself over there. Plus I’ve always wanted to see it...”
“She already looks the part Ben,” Evie refers to my outfit. I’m wearing a blue leather jacket with a Gold rose on the back. There’s a little golden crown shaped pin on the front. I also have on yellow leather pants with blue zippers on them, and lastly black combat boots. Evie obviously supplied me with the outfit, my style has always been more edgy than regal.
“Just,” Ben sighs. “Stay behind me and don’t talk to anyone.”
“I can’t promise either of those things,” I smirk.
“But let's get two things straight,” Evie looks pointedly at Ben. “You have to promise me that I won't get stuck there again. And there's no way you're going looking like that.” I giggle as I follow the two to Evies dorm where Ben can change into more appropriate clothes.
“How do you do this every day?” Ben asks as he pulls his leather pants to make them looser around his thighs.
“Beauty is pain,” I laugh at my older, by two minutes, brother. “You get used to it, I promise.”
Ben, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and I all pile into the limo and head for the Isle. I eagerly stare out the window as we get closer to said Isle, but my excitement soon turns into sadness. The four never wanted to speak of their time on the Isle, and now I really understand why. Everything is dirty, broken, and run down, no wonder the people here are so cruel. I would be too if I was forced to live in these conditions. Dad could have, and should have, done better. These are still his people, evil pasts or not.
“I’m so sorry we didn’t take better care of you guys or the Isle,” I frown as I look over at Evie. She smiles and wraps her arm around my shoulders, pulling me into her side.
“You didn’t know (Y/N/N). I know for a fact that if you did, you would have done something to help us.”
--
Evie, Carlos, and Jay are telling Ben and I how to act on the Isle. Well, mainly Ben- I’m not clueless.
“Okay, thanks,” Ben smiles.
“Don’t say thank you,” I sigh as I bump into him while walking past. “And keep in eye on your wallet.”
Ben starts checking his pockets and freaking out when he can’t find the wallet. “Guy’s it’s gone,” he freaks out as Jay smirks at me.
“Missing this?” I smirk, holding his wallet between my first and middle fingers. He tries to snatch it out of my hands, but I move it out of the way. “Seriously Ben, you need to watch yourself.”
The three villian kids demonstrate what they want Ben to act like on the Isle, and he manages to follow along. He even steals something from each of them, which is totally crazy. Ben struts off in front of us, humming in pride at his success. That is, until he bumps right into someone. And that someone happens to be Gil, Gaston’s youngest son, who recognizes us all. We escape Gil, and finally make it to where Mal is hiding out, Ben goes up to her alone.
While Evie, Carlos, and Jay go and talk with themselves, I stare down at my compass. A compass that’s moving more than it ever has, and it fills me with hope. I might actually get to catch a glimpse of my soulmate, or maybe even meet them!
“How’d it go?” I ask when Ben comes back down.
“She’s not coming back,” his face falls. I immediately pull him into a hug and hold him tight.
“I’ll talk to her,” Evie says firmly.
We all watch Evie intently, so intently that we don’t notice been leaving.
“Where’s Ben?” I ask nervously.  We all start calling for Ben as a figure starts to approach us.
“Ben, don’t scare us like that,” Evie scolds.
“That’s not Ben,” I murmur, he isn’t carrying himself the right way. He fits in too much with the Isle to be Ben.
“Don’t scare ye?” the teen asks.”But that’s my specialty.” Jay quickly and discreetly pushes me behind him.
The three start asking this guy, Harry apparently, where Ben is. But I can’t focus on what they’re saying. I’m too engrossed by Harry, his hook on his hand, his red jacket that fits him surprisingly well, the eyeliner that he can somehow pull off, and his ocean blue eyes. There’s a spark of familiarity that runs through me. I nervously look down at my arm, the arrow is pointing right at Harry.
“And if you want to see him again,” Harry smirks. “Have Mal come to the Chip Shoppe tonight.
Alone. Uma wants a little visit.”
“Or you can give us Ben back now, it could really save your ego. Seeing as how I will take your ass down in a fight,” I smirk.
“And who are you little lassie?” Harry runs his hook over my jaw. “You almost look like ye fit in here.”
“What’s it to you?” I raise an eyebrow.
“I like to know the names of people that dare challenge me,” he smiles.
“(Y/N).”
“A pretty name for a pretty girl. So why’s the Princess slumming it here on the Isle,” Harry asks.
I’ve always wanted to see it,” I shrug.
“So your first stop was to get your hair colored?” he wraps a strand of my hair around his hook.
“Uh, no. This is my natural hair,” he gives me a disbelieving look. I mean if I were him, I would too. Mom and dad have always made me wear a (Y/H/C) wig to hide my natural golden blonde hair with blue tips. None of the other royals stand out as much as I would if I showed my hair along with my style choices. I’ve heard the rumors at school saying I belong on the Isle, the hair would only make it worse.
“Well I like it better than the boring color they make you wear over there,” Harry leans in and our noses bump.
“I’ll keep that in mind,” I reply breathily.
“Get your hands off of her,” Jay growls, finally snapping out of his shock at our interaction.
“I wouldn’t dream of hurtin’ her,” Harry caresses my cheek with his hook one last time. “I’ll be back for ye.”
“I’ll hold you to that,” I smile as he walks away.
“What just happened?” Evie asks.
“I found him,” I breathe. “My soulmate.”
The three share a look before dragging me up to see Mal.
“What’s up with her?” Mal asks after a while of me sitting around and not interacting with the group.
“She had a surprise encounter with her soulmate,” Evie sighs.
“Well which Prince is he?” Mal smirks. “It’ll take a lot to handle all of her personality.”
“Harry Hook,” Carlos mumbles.
“Wait what?” Mal looks concerned now.
“He was different with her,” Jay adds. “Genuine.”
--
Mal met with Uma earlier, and she made a deal with her to give her Fairy Godmother’s wand in order to get Ben back. Carlos and Jay went back to Auradon to 3D print a copy of the wand, and picked up Lonnie along the way. Evie, Mal, and I made smoke bombs at the hair salon to distract the pirates later. Now we’re on the way to actually confront said pirates, I have butterflies in my stomach. I’m worried that Ben will have been injured, and I’m excited to see Harry again.
We walk up to the ship and confront the pirates, Harry is staring right at me. I give him a little smile as I take my place behind Mal. Mal and Uma start fighting causing me to roll my eyes.
“Uma, give us Ben back and you can come with us,” I try to convince her.
“You’re brother already tried that Princess,” she laughs, causing all of the pirates but Harry to join in.
“Yeah, well I’ve been the one bugging him for months to bring more of you over. And it was my idea to begin with. Let him go and you and two of your men can join us on the limo back.”
“Nice try sweetheart,” she chuckles again.
“C’mon Harry,” I turn to him with a pleading look. “You can’t tell me you haven’t thought about it. Come back with us, with me.”
“(Y/N)-” Harry starts.
“Enough!” Uma cuts in. “Give me the wand.”
And Mal does, but Uma quickly figures out that it’s fake and fighting starts. I quickly grab a sword and I defend myself, never attacking any of the pirates. All they want is a better life, and I can’t hold that against them.
Out of the corner of my eye I can see Jay dropping Harry’s hook into the water. I gasp and push back harder at the pirate I’m fighting, so I can head over to Harry. I’m heading towards him when I watch him pump into the water to save that stupid hook. “Harry!” I shout as I start running towards him.
Harry pops back up and clings onto the side of the deck, I quickly pull him up and into a hug. The action shocks both of us, but he soon reciprocates and holds me close. Something about being in his arms makes me feel safe, it feels like home.
“I’ll be with ye before ye know it Princess,” Harry promises, pulling back and putting the red scarf from around his waist, around my neck. “Now you need to go.”
“Bye Harry,” I frown and walk towards the tunnel that leads to our limo. I send him one last sad glance as I make my way through, his sad eyes are staring straight into my soul. And with that, I walk away.
I jump into the limo and seat myself in the corner, a single tear slips from my eye as we drive away from Harry.
“(Y/N)-” Evie starts.
“I really don’t want to talk about it E,” she frowns at my response.
“Talk about what?” Ben looks away from Mal. I ignore him as I stare down at the damn compass on my arm. When I was a kid, I always imagined that it would bring me so much joy, not the worst pain I’ve ever experienced.
“She had to leave her soulmate on the Isle,” Mal says lowly.
“Not that it’s surprisingly,” I laugh humorously. “We should have known since we were kids, it explains my personality Ben.”
“I’m sorry,” he frowns.
“You may be sorry, but we both know you won’t do anything to bring Harry over,” I lash out at him.
“It’s Harry?” he bellows.
“Yeah dad,” I glare. “It’s Harry Hook, deal with it”
--
There’s a knock on my door around thirty minutes after we get back to Auradon. I groan as I reluctantly open the door, where I come face to face with Evie.
“I made a little change to your dress,” she beams. I raise an eyebrow in confusion.
“What was wrong with it before?” I ask.
“This look seems more fitting. I kept the high-low skirt and the corset,” she smiles. “But I changed the rest.”
“Evie did you make a whole new dress?” I frown.
“No, I had a different top option for you, so I switched it out. And Mal helped me change the color a little,” she winks.
Before I can respond, she pulls the dress off of the rack that’s sitting behind her. My once blue and gold dress is simplistic black and white. The top is a white off the shoulder top, the skirt is high-low with black and white stripes in a diagonal pattern, and the corset is black and laces up in the front. “It looks like a pirate dress from stories I read as a kid,” I breathe as I run my hand over the skirt.
“Well don’t just stand there! Go try it on!” Evie bounces in excitement.
I quickly run into the bathroom and put it on, it fits like a glove. “Evie, it’s perfect,” I smile as I walk out of the bathroom.
“We can’t forget the boots,” she smiles holding up authentic pirate boots. “I may or may not have gotten them on the Isle when you weren’t paying attention.”
“You’re the best Evie!” I smile as I pull her into a hug.
“It’s just missing one last touch,” I follow her gaze to where Harry’s scarf was thrown on my bed earlier. I walk over and grab, deciding to copy him, I tie the scarf around my waist.
“Perfect,” Evie grins.
--
“What are you wearing?” mom asks through a fake smile as soon as I step onto the deck of the ship.
“A dress?” I ask sarcastically.
“You look like a pirate,” dad grimaces.
“Well I like it,” I frown. “And what’s wrong with pirates?”
“Their evil,” mom frowns.
“You can’t possibly know how every last pirate acts,” my frown deepens.
“And why aren’t you wearing your wig?” Dad’s voice raises a tad.
“I’m sick of pretending to be someone that I’m not, this is me. Accept it or don’t,” I walk over to where Jay and Lonnie are standing.
Like all things recently, the cotillion doesn’t go smoothly. Uma found Mals spellbook and dove out before the barrier closed, and she spelled Ben like Mal did six months ago (when Ben was in slight denial over who his soulmate was). Mal saves him with true love's kiss, blah blah blah. That stupid love shit that they are lucky enough to have.
Uma runs to the edge of the boat and jumps over. “Uma!” I scream as I frantically search the water for her. I gasp, along with everyone else, when she resurfaces as a sea witch like her mother.
“I’m digging the new look (Y/N), the scarf looks authentic,” she smirks and winks. “You look more real than we’ve ever seen you over there on the Isle.”
“Thanks Uma,” I smile down at her. “The offer still stands, ya know. You, Gil, and Harry could all have a place here, help us bring more kids over.”
“If you were the Queen then maybe I would, you’re the only genuine royal,” she shoots Ben a look.
Mal turns into a dragon, did anyone know she could do that? She spits fire at Uma, who backs away laughing. Ben, being the new reckless him, roars and jumps in the water to be between them. He tries to convince her to stay and help, way to steal my idea again bro. Uma gives Ben his ring back, before swimming away. Uma turns around on last time and nods at me before disappearing.
As the party dances and celebrates, I head to the edge of the boat and look out to the Isle, will I ever see Harry again?

Secret Pregnancy
Pairing - Harry Hook x Reader
Rating - PG
Warning - Teenage Pregnancy and there’s going to be a lot of time skips sorry. It’s also a little rushed
“I love you, (Y/N). Be careful.” My boyfriend Harry tells me as he arms are wrapped around me in a hug. “I’ll be fine.” I assure him. He brings me in for a long kiss. Our foreheads touching as we just stand there. “I love you.” I tell him. “Don’t forget me.” He practically whimpers. “I won’t. I’ll see you soon.” I say before I’m pulled in for one last kiss. Then I have to leave. I slowly walk out of the alley way a single tear rolling down my face. I look back at him one more time before I turn the corner.
I’m sitting in the limo as the core four surround me talking. I’m not paying attention and I don’t even react when they start screaming about drivivng off the bridge. I twist Harry’s mother’s ring that he gave me for our 1 year anniversary. My name is (Y/N), daughter of the Queen of Hearts. Harry and I have been dating for about 2 years. We started dating when we were 15 and now at 17 I’m leaving to go to Auradon.
Me and the other four were invited and Harry wouldn’t let me decline. I’m not really friends with core four, not belonging to a gang. No one knows that me and Harry are dating so I’m not friends with Uma either. Really I just can’t tell them about Harry because in this new place I need allies.
I have been in Auradon for 3 weeks. The whole coranation thing happened a week ago even though I wasn’t apart of it. I also haven’t been feeling good. I’m sitting in the nurses office playing with my ring, waiting for the results for my test.
That’s when the nurse cane out with a solem face. “I’m sorry (Y/N) but your pregnant.” She says quietly. I start breathing heavily and my eyes go in and out of focus. The nurse tries to help me but I sprint out of the office to the only people I really knew here.
I barreled into Mal and Evies room. I slam the door behind me with a frantic look on my face. Evie, Mal, Jay, Carlos where each doing their own thing but stopped when they saw me. “What’s wrong?” Carlos asked. “Guys, I’m preganant.” I say so quickly for a minute I didn’t think they heard me. “Who’s the father?” Evie asks.
I hesitate a moment. Of course the father is Harry, but should I tell them that. I take a deep breath before I say, “Harry Hook. We’ve been dating for almost two years.” I tell them. They immediately go bonkers and start to yell questions. “You have to bring me back to the Isle.” I practically plead. “Your not going back to the Isle.” Mal says immediately. “You have to get Ben to let me write a letter or something he has to know.” I say with more force this time.
That was 8 months ago. Mal was true to what she said and she made sure I wasn’t able to go back to the Isle or tell Harry anything. I tried to go back multiple times but it was impossible. When Ben was kidnapped they didn’t even tell me. I wasn’t even at cottilian to ask Uma to tell Harry. I refuse to talk the the core four or Ben. My only friend is Jane . I was already 3 months pregnant when I found out and my daughter was born two months ago. Haylee Hook.
I’m currently at Janes Birthday party. Haylee is in my arms while me and Jane are talking by the enchanted lake. “This is a really good party.” I tell her. “Thanks but I couldn’t do it with” her sentence gets cut off when Audrey shows up. She has the queens crown and Maleficents septer. I immediately knew something bad was going to happen. “Take Haylee and go into the lake. Don’t worry about me if something happens leave me.” I tell Jane seriously while pushing Haylee into her arms.
She doesn’t protest doing exactly what I said. Audrey then starts singing putting people to sleep. “Audrey stop this. What ever happened you need to let me help you.” I call to Audrey. Instead of answering she just continues singing. I rush into action trying to get Maleficents septer. She laughs and rips it back much stronger than I thought. She sings once again putting me under her sleeping curse. My last thought before I go off into a cursed slumber is hoping Haylee will be okay.
———3rd POV———
The core four and the sea three walk to Auradon after deciding to work together. They walk through the Auradon Prep court yard Harry builds up the courage and says, “So hows (Y/N)?” He tries time be nonchalant but he can’t keep the feeling out of his voice.
Uma is confused by the question but the core four share a look. Before anyone can answer Mal looks around trying to change the subject. “Look Hannah turned to stone.” She points and everyone leaves the conversation for later.
They check the castle but only find evil knights that they have to fight. The girl’s then check the school while the boys look for Ben. Harry doesn’t bring up (Y/N) again, scared to find out if she forgot about him. It doesn’t stop the worry he feels.
The boys tramp through the woods tired and full of doubt. Somehow they ended up eating from a berry bush when they heard a big roar. They all immediately run towards it. When they get there they can see the king under a curse. He’s running around and slashing at all of them. Carlos goes to calm him down when Harry hears the quiet cries of a baby.
He looks toward the sound to see Jane show up with a baby in one hand and a water pump in the other. She sprays the king and he returns back to normal, mostly. Carlos goes to Jane to greet his girl friend. Harry just lays back against a tree. Everyone is surrounding Jane and asking questions so Harry ignores them all not wanting to intrude.
Jane glances around and sees Harry and Gil leaning against a tree. “That’s him isn’t it.” She says quietly. He looks exactly how (Y/N) described him. (Y/N) has told her best friend everything about the love of her life. No one answers and Jane asks, “Did you tell him?” She looks down at the baby in her hands who’s silently whining.
“We couldn’t.” Jay answers for everyone. “You should have. (Y/N) wants this. You have no right keeping it from him.” Before anyone can protest she pushes past them and walks up to Harry. As she walks closer Harry looks up meeting her gaze with a confused face. “Hi Harry. My names Jane. I’m friends with (Y/N).” At (Y/N)s name he really starts paying attention and he immediately stands up straight.
“There’s someone (Y/N) has been wanting to introduce to you for a while. Since (Y/N)s under the sleeping curse I have to.” Jane tells him her eyes resting on the baby in her arms. Harry’s expression is full of confusion and worry. “This is your daughter Haylee Hook.” Jane says. Harry’s face is pure shock. “My daughter?” He asks quietly. Jane shakes her head yes and bites her lip.
“I’m a father?” Harry says quietly a grin spreading on his face. Jane hands the child off to Harry after he hooks his hook onto his jeans and Haylee immediately stops fussing. Her whines from before quiet and Harry’s smile grows bigger. “Why didn’t (Y/N) tell me?” Harry asks looking at Jane once again.
“She tried. Tried to escape multiple times but she couldnt. She wrote to you every day since she got here. They wouldn’t let her send it.” Jane explains. Harry doesn’t even bother asking where (Y/N) is knowing the answer. Harry goes over to Gil while they both play with Haylee. A few minutes later everyone heads to Evies cottage.
Mal, Uma, Evie, and Celia are eating cake inside Evies cottage when Uma says, “Wasn’t there another girl with you. What happened to her?” Evie and Mal make eye contact having a silent conversation. “(Y/N). She’s probably under the curse by now. We’re not on speaking terms.” Mal answers vaguely. “Ahh. So what you guys do?” Uma asks. Before anyone can answer wood magically coats the walls trapping them inside.
“Does that mean I can be her uncle?” Gil asks making funny faces so Haylee would laugh. The rest were a few feet in front of the boys. The others, except Jane of course, wouldn’t meet his eye. “Yes Gil. You can be Haylee’s uncle.” Gil’s grin grew wider if possible. “How do you think Umas going to react?” Gil asked.
Harry had to think. He hadn’t told Uma about (Y/N). He hadn’t told anyone. Uma tried to question him as he grew a little bit sadder after (Y/N) left but he brushed her off. “I don’t know. She’s Uma ya know how she is.” Harry answers. They continue walking when they can see Evies cottage in the distance.
5 minutes later there in front of Evies cottage, before they could get any closer the 4 inside run out. Gil goes to Uma and wraps her into a hug. Harry stays back a few feat Haylee laying in his arms. She’s asleep and her head is tucked into him.
As Uma pulls away and looks toward Harry. Her face shows shock. “Who is that?” She asks. “This is my daughter.” Harry says slowly. “Who’s the mother?” Uma asks in bewilderment. “(Y/N) daughter of the Queen of Hearts. She was sent to Auradon with the others and found out she was pregnant.” Harry explains scared that Uma would reject him. “Well let me hold her. What’s her name?” Uma asks showing she wants to hold her.
The core four and Ben watch with softness in their eyes. They didn’t expect a bunch of pirates to go completely soft with a baby. They felt bad that they kept this from them and they kept (Y/N) from happiness.
“Hello Haylee. I’m your aunt Uma. Your going to be a great pirate when you grow up.” Uma tells her and she slowly rocks her so Haylee doesn’t wake up. “We should head to fairy cottage now.” Mal calls breaking the moment.
“I should go look for my mother.” Jane says. “I should go with her.” Doug says. “You should take Haylee.” Harry says grabbing Haylee from Uma and giving it to Jane. “You should also take Gil because I think you need a little bit of muscles.” Uma says walking forward with Gil behind her. They go off and then the rest head for fairy cottage.
Fairy cottage turned out to be a waste of time. As they walk out Ben speaks up, “One day you will have to tell me how you guys teamed up.” “Mal said that she would get all of the kids off the Isle.” Evie tells. “Mal?” He asks confused. “No ones getting off the Isle were closing it for good. So Auradon can be safe.” Mal confesses.
Harry doesn’t even hear the argument around him his breath going heavy and thoughts of (Y/N) and his daughter running through his mind. That’s when he sees Cece dump the ember and Ima run away. He quickly followed after her. “Uma you have to help. We need to break the curse for (Y/N).” He pleas when he catches up to her.
“She lied to us. I can’t help her after that. How do you know she’s the same (Y/N) you knew now.” Uma says. “I do know in my heart. She can’t wake up without you.” Harry tells her. That’s when they hear a dragon’s roar. They turn to see Mal fighting Audrey. “She’s going to die without me.” Uma says in shock before they both run over to help.
“I’m right here with you Mal.” Uma proclaims holding up her glowing necklace. I’m just a few more minutes Audrey is defeated and Mal turns back human. Harry and Uma hug before finding Mal and everyone else. “Harry go to the school that’s where you should find Jane and (Y/N) should go there too.” Harry nods in appreciation before taking Uma’s hand as they run to Auradon Prep.
“Harry, Uma. Your okay.” Gil says running up to them and giving them a group hug when they walk into the school. “Where is everyone?” Harry asks as they pull away. “Everyone’s to meet in the cafeteria. Janes there with Haylee but she’s still waiting for (Y/N).” Gil informs them.
Harry immediately jogs down the hall following the sound of voices. Uma and Gil keep up pace behind him but he’s to focused to get to his child to notice. He gets to the cafeteria to see Jane holding a fussing Haylee in her hands.
“Harry. Oh thank Gods.” Jane says in relief seeing Harry. She immediately hands the baby off to him who stopped crying when he held her. “Was everything ok? She’s good she didn’t get hurt.” Harry fussed. Although Harry just met his daughter he loved her and he knew that (Y/N) still loved him.
“I should go find (Y/N) what if she isn’t okay?” Harry says soon after still worried about the girl he loved. “Harry. Don’t worry (Y/N) is fine the first thing she would is come here. She’d come to see Haylee and make sure she’s ok.” Jane tells him. Harry hands over Haylee to Uma who was standing next to Gil too worried to hold her.
(Y/N) blinks her eyes open squinting from the sun. Her memories race back and she immediately sits up worried for her child. She looks around to see others waking up. She knows if something happened they would go to Auradon Prep so she immediately starts running.
As she go to Auradon Prep she can see the four 4 standing around. “Where is she Mal?” She asks her mouth laced with fear. Even though she wasn’t on speaking terms with Mal her daughter is more important. “She’s with Harry in the cafeteria.” Mal tells her. “Harry?” (Y/N) whispers in surprise and happiness. “Yes. (Y/N) we really are sorry.” Mal tells her. She nods before starting to run again.
(Y/N) calls “HARRY!” At the tip of her lungs as she runs through the school. Harry stops his pacing as he hears his name being yelled. “(Y/N)!” He tells back knowing her voice from anywhere. He runs to the exit of the cafeteria and running into the hall.
(Y/N) turns the corner to see Harry running towards her. Time seems to slow as (Y/N) jumps into Harry’s arms. He spins her around and tears are streaming down both of their faces. As he sets her down their lips connect into a passionate kiss filled with longing and love.
They pull away and (Y/N) immediately starts asking questions. “Did you meet Haylee? Is sho okay? Are you okay having a child? Do you hate me?” Harry only chuckles quietly. “I met Haylee and Jane told me everything. I love our child and I love you. If you will have me I will be there for you and Haylee forever.”
They walked towards the cafeteria with (Y/N)’s head leaning on Harry’s chest. As she fought to sight of her child she immediately pulled away from Harry. “You must be Uma.” (Y/N) says with a smile as she approaches the pirate captain. “And I believe Haylee belongs to you.” Uma says with an equally large smile handing Haylee off. She saw how miserable her first mate has been since (Y/N) left and she was just happy he could be happy again. As (Y/N) held Haylee Harry enveloped both of them into a hug. They were finally a family.

A:/N: happy Christmas Eve eve!!!  Finally done with part four and turns out I ended up writing a plot that flows slower than intended (oops). I’m sorry for the wait but I’ve been sort of busy with holiday-related procrastination. Also…. I’m working on a request and a Bucky royal au which I’ll be posting soon. As always, lots and lots of love and thanks for reading ❤️ Pls tell me what you think.
(BTW… there’s a flashback at the end, it’s in italics.)

part one        part two      part three      mobile masterlist
— Oi, lass, lass,— a familiar intone is heard when I open the window.
To my surprise, I spot Harry behind a trash container, with my cloak resting on his right shoulder.
When he sees my head peeking out of the second floor window, he pipes, — if you wanted to see me again, you should’ve just asked.
— Who says I wanted to see you, that was a hint for Gil to find.
He snickers at my words,— ya gaunnie come get yer manky cloak, or do I have to go up there?
—Shit, — I breathe — Just a second!
I close the window and look at Jay, who quirks a brow but doesn’t move from his spot on my desk. He began to explore my sketchbook app a few minutes ago, and seems to be completely immersed in it. Nevertheless, he puts the device down and chuckles, — This is you’re place, you know. Say the word and I’ll be out.
His words take me by surprise. Even if he’s been here for a few hours, I still can’t get completely used to the idea of such dangerous people, who are feared to death back home, being as decent and friendly as they have been during my stay here.
So, after a brief goodbye, he leaves and, after all of my Auradon-related stuff, I open the window once again.
— You already came all the way here, what’s a few steps up.
He’s about to make his way up the fire escape but, after a few steps toward it, he crosses his arms and says, — Yer right, I came to yer place, don’t I deserve a prize?
He’s such a flirt. After debating it with myself for a second, I make up my mind.
— Come here and get it, — I wink.
Without a second thought, he runs up the stairs outside the building and reaches my window in no time. What I’m I doing? No one was supposed to find out about this place, yet I’ve brought two vks here in just a day. I try to keep my cool as the pirate walks toward me, stopping about a foot away.
He smirks, —So, doll, ‘bout me prize.
I feel the heat in my cheeks when he takes a small step closer, placing a hand on the side of my waist.
—oh, right… that,——
Think fast, think fast….
I smile at him sweetly and kiss his right cheek, retrieving my cloak from his shoulder. — your welcome, — I smirk.
He laughs at my antics, — yer kidding? Don’t ya say that’s it! Glaickit of ya to think I’ll leave with just that.
—Who says you have to leave?— I utter the words while stepping back in order to sit on my bed.
His brows jump up and his ocean blue eyes shine with mischief and surprise. — What’d you suggest, doll.
— Staying here for a while but, now that I think of it, wouldn’t it be more fun to go out? The docks, maybe?
— Nah, depends on what you want to do. — his words keep coming out laced with an air of innuendo.
Not wanting to give up yet, I decide to play coy. — You know, the usual; take a walk, grab a bite, ‘keep the heid’, don’t you have to do rounds?
This time, it is a mix of mischief and excitement that floods him. — Yer right, can’t wait to see the faces of those wingnut vampires when ya scare the shit outta them!
— yeah… I’m thrilled.
Why did I suggest this, of all possible things to do? The question seems to be trapped in my mind. Ever since we left the apartment, Harry began to show a new side of himself, one that I had only seen in the papers I read beforehand.
He invited me to do his rounds with him, on the way to the docks and, needless to say, my magic resulted completely useless when it came to achieving the level of fear that Harry had in mind.
— Not so badass now? bastard, — he hisses, with a smirk on his face as his hook grabs some guy by the jacket. — whatcha gonna do?
The guy limits himself to whimper and let out some sort of cry. Given that the pirate has already grabbed everything that caught his eye, together with the designated amount of golden coins, the business there is dimmed as finished and we finally  begin walking to Ursula’s.
—So what ya think, see yourself doing this with me and the crew?— he asks.
—Not really, not one for all of the intimidating.
— Ain’t so sure ‘bout that, lassie. You’ve done pretty well for what I’ve seen. — it is kind of weird to hear such words coming from him; even more so when sincerity is all across his handsome features.
I snicker, — yeah, right; I can’t even get a fly to run away.
His chin lifts up and his chest comes forward subtly, — I’d help you with that, if you decided to join us. In fact, — he wiggles his brows with a smirk, — I’d train you.
— As tempting as that sounds, I’ll have to decline, Hook. Got better things to do:
I shouldn’t even think twice about declining but something about exploring my vk side a bit further than I’ve been able to doesn’t sound completely crazy. Maybe is the way he looks at me, or should I say through me, with his ocean eyes; or the way in which those same eyes shine when he’s about to wreak havoc? Don’t really know, and not sure if I really want to.
Guess I’ll just have to solve this problem in the way I do it best, ignoring my questions until they go away.
I begin to run and chant, — Race you to the docks!
….
Panting, I stop in front of Ursula’s and get inside. The place is packed with members of Uma’s crew, some of which seem to recognize me. They acknowledge me without hostility, still thankful for what I did for them the night of the party.
—Look, Uma, Y/N’s here! Bet she’s looking for Harry, — Beams Gil, the blond and tall guy who first broke the ice with me the night I met the crew.
Uma smirks and approaches me, — Look, witchy, not sure if you got the memo but one night stands are supposed to be just that, and last one night, nothing more.
— Thanks for the heads up, cap, but I’m actually here to grab a pint. — I sit down on a barstool.
— in that case, — she turns away, visibly relaxing, — Bonnie! A beer for bibbity bobbity bullshit over here!
When Uma is behind the bar again, Harry, who had been inside and contemplating the scene, approaches me.
— Sorry ‘bout that, Uma just knows me too well,— he ventures. — Ain’t good for the business to have every lady in the isle claiming to see me, now is it?
His cockiness is amusing as it is annoying. — Oh, of course — I ponder.— that would be completely tragic.
He chuckles at me and steals a sip from my still full beer. Honestly, I don’t even like beer that much; just ordered it to play the part. Go
— Yer different, though, — he claims, but I don’t believe a word.
— Do tell, why is that?
— You’re not as annoying. Actually, I kinda like having you ‘round, — he flirts.
— So you, Mr. use-‘em-‘n-dump-‘em, are claiming I’m special? — I gasp mockingly, — what an honor.
We both laugh a bit, share another sip of beer, and he continues.
He shrugs, — Yer also fast. Not enough, but fast; even if you were playing dirty.
—Oh, gods, aren’t you one to talk about that! — I accuse,— and, given the case that I did play dirty, how did I do it?
— Lookie here — he gesticulates, motioning himself. — Racing a hungover pirate ain’t fair, besides, I had too much clothes on.
I chuckle, part of me wishing I could wipe that smirk off his face. — You’re just a bad loser, I’m pretty sure you’re always hungover; and, as for your clothes, not sure how that’s related to me kicking your ass.
— How low do ya think of me, doll, ya think I’m a bad loser? — he fakes a gasp. — and, as for my clothes, —his tone is mocking, — can’t you just enjoy me charm and help me solve the problem? But, in case you wanted a serious answer for your question, nakedness makes me more aerodynamic.
— wouldn’t you like that, Captain cockiness.— my brow quirks up. — And seriously, aerodynamic? Yeah, right.
— Not as much as ya would, my little witch.
I scoff as my eyes drift over to the window. The day is warm despite the lack of sun, so I suggest, — I think I’m gonna go for a walk. Come with me?
…….
The sound of the waves crashing against the docks is one that I’ve loved my whole life, back home, my dad and I go for boat rides often. However, here there’s a bunch of noise that accompanies the punches of water against wood and stones. The market is busy as we walk, but most of the catches turn out to be dead fish and trash that arrives from Auradon.
— I still don’t believe you, you know? It’s impossible for you to fit the grip of your hook inside your mouth; besides, how can I believe you if your too chickened up to prove it,— my arms cross expectantly.
Since we got out of Ursula’s, Harry’s been telling me a bunch of stories of his and Gil’s drunken deeds, and I may have also revealed a few of mine and Chad’s own disventures. For the last five minutes, he’s been trying to convince me that he’s capable of putting the whole base of his hook inside his mouth, but refuses to show me.
— Lass, ya’ll have to take me word for it. I’m still a few bottles of scotch away from doing that again.
—pff,— I playfully shove him sideways. — Yeah, right.
He places the tip of his hook on his chin, pretending to think, — you know, shouldn’t have spilled so much, now ya have lots of dirt on me.
—What am i gonna use it for? You know what, never mind. — I proclaim, — You, Harry James Hook, just made the worst mistake of your life. Now I’ll overthrow you and Uma, and take over the lost revenge. Buahahaha!
He laughs at me and counters, — seriously lass, some of these things, I’ve never told anyone before.
—relax Hook, you can trust me, — I smile, with the sincerity I can muster.
— Oh, okay then.
After the short moment of vulnerability, we fall into a void of uncomfortable silence. We continue to walk along the brick street next to the sea, and my hands seem to find a permanent place inside the pockets of my jacket. Harry softly whistles a melody with his eyes locked down, but looks up and smiles as we reach a familiar ship.
His frame stiffs for a moment as he inquires — You sure I can trust ya?
I hesitate, — Yes, of course.
— Then come on, you’re meeting someone. — he grins.
The ship seems to be isolated from the rest, yet it is full of crew members that work and bounce from one side of the deck to the other.
When we enter their sight, they stop to stare at us and pull out their swords.
One of them speaks with a threatening and raspy voice, — Not outsiders in the Black Pearl, Hook.
— Relax, Y/N ain’t gonna start beef, Barbossa. — Harry assures, — where’s Jack at?
— Sure hope she does cause some trouble, we could always use some tasty ladies here in this humble ship. — the malice in his expression makes me shiver, not to mention the wicked grin coming from the monkey on his shoulder, so I move slightly behind Harry.
At this point, it’s evident that the younger pirate’s patience is becoming thinner. — She’s not here for that, now where’s Jack?
Barbossa’s pounding laugh comes laced with his response, — His chambers, drinking. Good luck getting him outta there.
So, shielding me from the Wolfish looks sent by some crew members, Harry drags me to what I assume is the entrance of the captain’s quarters.
He knocks three times and a groan is heard on the other side, right before the breaking of a bottle and an incoherent train of curse words.
The door opens to reveal a tanned middle aged man sporting wild dreadlocks and a bored expression. However, his facade changes as soon as he registers that Harry was the one who dared interrupt him.
—Powder Monkey! What brings you to this old man’s ship?— his arm flies over Harry’s shoulder and he drags him inside.
I follow closely behind. My eyes scan the wooden floor and walls, the scattered pieces of green glass that I’m sure recently fell down, and a table full of unopened bottles, surrounded by five stools.
— Just thought I’d come ‘n greet, so you pack of salty dogs wouldn’t forget ‘bout me.
— Nah, wouldn’t forget ‘bout my favorite boot cleaner, — he smiles, showcasing a few golden teeth, — now would I?
Harry’s only response is to laugh as he opens a bottle of rum, — Also, wanted you to meet a, uhh, an acquaintance. Jack, Y/N; Y/N, this is Jack.
Acquaintance, seriously?
He turns my way, smirking and stretching out a dusty hand, — Well, let me say, m’lady, any friend of Jimbo here is a friend of mine. —After we shake hands, he sits down on the table, grabbing yet one more bottle, — Now tell me, what stupidity have you done to cross ways with this wonky piece of sea garbage?
I’m about to start, but Harry interjects, — She can’t tell you nothing without a dram.
— Only got rum, Hookey, who do ya think yer talking to, Turner?— he scoffs.
— Rum it is, then.
Awkwardly, I state, — Actually, I’m good as it is, gentlemen.
— You don’t drink? — This time, Sparrow breaks into laughter,— got a princess in your hands, Harry. But m’lady, — he turns toward me,— we all drink here, ‘s the code.
I chuckle, — Fine, but just a few drinks.
Thank god I have my boots on, I think to myself as I look at the floor. A fit of giggles scale my lips, followed by an almost unperceivable hiccup. It’s been a few hours since we arrived at the Pearl, and we’ve been drinking nonstop. At the beginning, it was only Jack and the two of us, but then Gil ended up here, together with maestre Gibbs.
I told them how I met Harry, but that’s the only truth that I’ve spilled. After all, knowing where I’m from would be enough motivation for these men to make me walk the plank and straight into the kraken’s nest. From then on, I’ve been mostly listening.
— So, then I was like ‘proceed,’ but they noticed I wasn’t white so the one with the fancy wig went all ‘it’s Jack Sparrow, it’s Jack sparrow!’ and I was like ‘nub-uh, I’m justice Smith.’ — Jack speaks  between laughs, with exaggerated esticulations, as he takes another sip of some cheap wine; the rum ran out like an hour ago.
— You saved my ass that day, Jack, I remember it like it happened this very morning, — Gibbs patted his friend’s shoulder.
Gil chimes in, — like that time you saved us from the Huns, we wouldn’t have lasted two seconds without you and Anamaria.
— I haven’t heard that one yet, — I voice, utterly curious.
— Well, — Jack announces, then yawns. — you’ll have to hear it another time, Y/N/N. I've got some business, you know? Gotta sleep for a few years now.
Being the ship’s captain, and the two young pirates’ mentor, no one’s hesitant to comply. We get up and say goodbye, then make our way outside.
All three of us are still fairly drunk, so I decide to take this chance to see if I can get them to open up.
— I still haven’t heard the story of you guys and the Huns.
— ‘S a long one, lass. — states Harry, placing an arm around my shoulder, to which I respond by loosely grabbing his wrist with my right hand, as to keep his arms from moving.
— Well, we’ve got time! — I yowel.
— You’re gonna love it, Y/N. — As we walk, Gil begins to explain, taking a sip of the bottle we grabbed from the Pearl.— We were like seven when that happened?
----
Harry and Gil walked silently, as they kept an eye on Shan Yu’s men. It was Harry’s first official mission as part of his father’s crew, or it was gonna be, and he had called Gil and Uma for help and support. Sadly, the young sea witch had been grounded that very morning, so she couldn’t be there with the two boys. To say that they had absolutely no idea what they were doing was a complete understatement. They were clueless.
So, they did what seemed rational at the moment: follow the enemies and wait for the perfect moment to attack. Or… at least that’s what Gil had heard his father say when he talked about hunting.
—Shh!! — scolded Harry, — you’re gonna make them see us, Gil!
The blond boy muttered a quick ‘sorry,’ and continued walking, this time avoiding collisions.
— Harry, they’re getting into a warehouse, we should wait out here. — Gil intoned, chocolate eyes shining with fear.
Harry immediately countered and, on the contrary to his friend’s, his blue orbs were  flooded with pride and determination. —No, this is my chance to prove father that I can be a real pirate. If we make it, he will train me.
----
We continue walking through the very same road that we took earlier today (yesterday, as midnight passed a few hours ago). Harry’s arm remains placed around me and mine has now found its way around his middle.
As he speaks, I feel the soft vibrations of Harry’s voice and the alcohol that pleasantly poisoned his breath; — so, we decided to ambush the Huns right there.
— We decided? You manipulated me into going, — Gil points out, giggling.
Harry sighs and grumbles, — Anyway, the point is we went inside and here we are; so, continue talking Gil. Before sunrise, if you can.
----
The two boys literally crossed a door that had no way back. They hid behind a few boxes of what they supposed were ingredients for Dim Sum, and carefully watched as the Hun soldiers opened a chest full of gold that they had stolen from the Jolly Roger.
— There it is, — Harry whispered in awe.
— It’s a lot of gold, — Gil quavered.
Back then, they were convinced that no one was aware of their presence, but a certain pirate lord who had his eyes on the very same prize had seen them from the start.
— Isn’t that Hook’s boy? — asked Anamaria.
—Yup.
She continued to press on the topic, — shouldn’t we take him? He’d be useful against his father; we could get some money out of him.
—Nope.
— And why the hell not, Jack?
The captain sighed, as he adjusted his position on the ceiling bar, — Jim doesn’t pose a threat at the moment and nothing he has seems to be worth it these days, the boy’s useless.
The Huns continued to speak in hushed tones, reason why none of the intruding parties were able to register what was happening.
The kids didn’t even have time to move when they felt the cold metal of swords against the back of their necks. With their hands raised in defeat, they stood up and faced Shan Yu’s soldiers.
—Your father didn’t even have the balls to come here himself?
— Maybe we could send him your fingers? Or maybe even your left hand? That way you’d get matching hooks.
The grown men spoke as they advanced on the two boys, making them head toward the wall of the building. When they had them cornered, both Huns raised their swords and both boys shielded their heads with their arms; but no harm came their way.
Instead, they saw the Huns fighting two other people, whom Harry recognized as members of the enemy pirate crew, the tripulation of the Black Pearl.
— So that’s why you went after the kids —chortled the man. — Your technique is worse than your fashion sense, and that’s saying something.
Both boys giggled at his words.
The man’s combat was sparkled with humor and witty comments, while the woman fought silently and with a stern expression, only groaning every few hits. Both of them had impeccable technique, and they seemed to be dancing in perfect coordination.
After what had seemed to be hours, the Huns ended up dead.
— I can’t believe I agreed to come with you in the first place, — hissed the woman, cleaning her left boot with the end of her puffy white sleeve.
— Come one, don’t tell me it wasn’t fun!
She ignored her companion and approached the boys, who had been contemplating their interaction.
— Hey, — she smiled, — I’m Ana, and that idiot over there is captain Jack Sparrow.
Harry stepped forward, — I’m quartermaster Harry Hook, and this is my friend Gil.
—Quartermaster? Harry, your father doesn’t even let you near the crew.
Harry glared at his friend and decided to explain to the two strangers, — well, I’m not exactly a quartermaster… yet! — he assured. — but I’m gonna be one, when my dad decides to train me.
It was the man’s turn to speak, and his voice came tinted with venom. — You mean Jim sent you here without training? Not even I would do that.
— My dad doesn’t think I have what it takes to be a pirate. I was gonna bring him his treasure back and show him I do have it, but I guess you’re gonna take it, right?
‘Not the puppy eyes, not those; anything but the puppy eyes!’ Jack pleaded to himself, but he ended up looking at the boy and giving in.
He groaned, and then spoke up. — We’ll all go back to the Pearl. There, well split the gold and maybe you’ll learn a thing or two.
— Uma’s gonna love this, — grinned the boys in unison.
----
We arrived at the end of the road, so the three of us sat on the edge of the dock, feet dangling over the water.
— So, that’s basically it. — concludes Gil. — Jack taught us everything we know about being pirates. Then, he helped us get the Lost Revenge.
I take a drink, — And, you’re all still pretty close to him. That’s really cool.
Harry chuckles, — well, we kind of owe him everything we are.
I lift my head, which was resting on his shoulder, and glance at him. — That’s not true; he may have trained you, but I’m sure you all have become your own selves.
— Don’ be stupid, lass, he did it because it meant a future a alliance and an advantage, not because he has a teaching vocation.
I sigh, looking for adequate words to phrase what I want to say, — Then you guys owe him what you know about piracy, nothing more.
None of the two pirates said anything.
You know, — Gil sighed, — he’s been there for us more than our own parents. He even saved us from Hook’s crew once, when we were thirteen.
—Still, he did it because we’d signify power for him and not because he cared about us. — Harry takes a long swing of liquor.
I sigh, — Still, I think that, even if he didn’t care at the beginning, he’s fond of you guys now.
Harry’s about to object, but he thinks for a moment and mumbles, — he’s been around for quite a while, even for me sisters.
—I’m just pretty glad that we found him, — Gil hummed, — since I began training with him, my father has been going on about how proud he is that I’m big and strong, and how he hopes that I’ll get myself a nice lady.
— Funny, — Harry says with a tint of grief, — my dad stopped talking to me when the moment I stepped on the Pearl.
Once again, we fall into silence. I fall backwards and look at the cloudy sky, Gil and Harry soon follow and, once again, I find a spot right under the first mate’s arm.
— I’m kind of sleepy, guys.— Gil voices my thoughts, we should head back to the Revenge.
Without complaining, the three of us stand up and walk back to the ship. Instead of heading to their quarters, Harry and Gil lead me to a few hammocks that are placed on deck for those on night guard.
Harry takes off his boots and coat, sitting on one, —‘m sure Uma won’t mind if we use these for tonight.
—Yeah, no big deal, — Yawns Gil.
— Kay.
I’m already beginning to sober up, so sleep is beginning to hit me. Without a second thought, I lay down and wrap myself in my cloak. I drift off to sleep, and my head clears.
It only lasts a few hours, though. I wake up with nausea and my head pounding. Sitting up, decision which immediately regret, I look around for Harry and Gil but turns out I’m alone. I get up and rub my eyes, walking towards Frollo’s creperie, which is a few blocks away from Ursula’s.
I arrive and bark my order, like I’ve seen people do it around here. Then, with a huff, I sit down and quickly glance at my watch.
9:30 am… shit!

The Anchor
Part 2
Uma x Harry
Warnings: Swearing, angst with a happy ending, near character death, and Harry should come with a warning, sorry have you seen him🥺
Flashback
“Uma!” Harry called out, pouring when he didn’t get a reply, “Uma-la-la-la!”
“Call me one more time and you’ll find yourself at the wrong end of your own hook.”
The sea witch in question scowled as she appeared behind him.
“Ye so sure you’ll be able to steal it from me?”
He asked, smirking, quickly checking if anyone was around before wrapping an arm around her firmly.
“I can steal anything from you.” Uma stayed confidently, just about managing to not melt under his touch. It was broad daylight, after all, and she had a reputation to maintain.
“Including me poor heart, ye siren.”
He flirted casually, and she laughed at his antics.
“We’re you just calling to annoy me?”
“No, no!” Harry suddenly got excited, stopping his walk down the hallway of Serpent Prep.
“Me dad’s holding a boat race, and who wins gets an old vessel of his. And guess which one?”
“He wouldn’t give away the Jolly Roger?” Uma questioned, wide-eyed. This was huge. With a ship, they could start assembling a crew properly, just like they’d always wanted to.
“Not on yer life.” Her boy said, “But it’s nearly as good. The Lost Revenge, Uma, our ship!”
She almost squealed.
“We’ll win it, easy. And then we’ll have a ship and a crew and when we get off this aisle, we’ll sail off, and I’ll be Captain, and you’ll be First Mate-“
“Wait just a second, lass,” Harry interrupted, looking a little insulted, “Who said that I wouldn’t be Captain and ye First Mate?”
“As if,” Uma snorted, and hit his arm lightly, “We both know I’m the natural leader of this little gang.”
“Fish-bait,” Harry growled in disbelief, “Me dad is the most dreaded Pirate Captain-“
“Yeah, and my mom is the most feared Sea Witch in every land! Plus, your dad was defeated by a ten-year-old!”
Harry looked affronted, but he was probably going to with her plan. She knew him, and that was his Let-Uma-Win face. Then, he got all brightened up, and she knew it whatever he said would be trouble.
“We’ll make a wager,” he announced with finality, “After we win that little shindig event, we’ll have our own boat race. And whoever wins, becomes Captain and the other becomes First Mate. Deal?”
“Deal,” she replied instantly, “Prepare to serve under me forever, Hook.”
“I already do that, me goddess.” Hardy replied dramatically, even bowing his head towards her for theatrical effect.
“I only wish,” Uma teased, tugging on one ear, “You’d be a lot more useful then.”
He laughed, loud and hearty, and rested his head on hers for a brief second before pulling away, and making to walk to his next class.
“And Harry?”
He turned around at the sound of his voice, unable to escape the feeling that something was missing from him.
“Told you I could steal it.”
Uma said with a wink, as she brandished his hook in the air. He stared down at his hand in bewilderment, amazed to see himself clutching a metal rod instead of his trusty weapon, as her laughter echoed down the hallway.
That was when he realised that she really had him, in every way possible.

Uma patching up Harry after a few bottles thrown by Captain Hook in a drunken fit had hit a little too close to home-
“I’ll kill him,” she’d hissed, already clutching a knife in her little hands, as he talked her down from her rage.
She would do anything for him.

Harry and Uma doing dishes together at Ursula’s seafood joint, even though he had chores back home-
“Why’d you stay back all the time?” She asked him one day, curiosity too much for her.
“Who else will finish off the leftovers, eh?” He’d answered cheekily, but had squeezed her hand too, clearly indicating where it was rubbed raw from working all the time.
“You’re welcome to them anytime.” Uma has retorted with a snort, but something warm welled in her heart. And he understood what she meant- that she appreciated him coming by and helping her.
So he smiled almost softly as he rubbed his own hands raw cleaning the mangy leftovers of the strange customers of the shop.

“He’s slipping.”
Someone said it in a hushed voice in the present, and it jolted Uma back to a reality she didn’t want to face.
Everything was a dull thrum in her ears. She faintly registered a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“Honey,” Belle’s maternal voice sounded near her, “you should get some sleep. You aren’t going to help him by running yourself into the ground.”
Uma didn’t respond. She didn’t think it was a very good idea to yell at the Queen Mother.
I’m going to sleep? My first mate might die any minute and you want me to sleep?
Ben spoke next, and she wished he hadn’t.
“I don’t want to be the one to say this, but they’re not going to make it.”
She didn’t want to even think about Harry dying, and what that might to do to her, so she just gripped his hand tighter, digging her nails in, and spat out,
“And who cares if she lives or dies?”
Belle and the Beast looked affronted, while Ben was a mix of understanding and firm.
“Audrey is my subject too. Obviously, she had some mental issues which she needs to work out. Believe me, she will be punished according to her crimes, but in a fair court of justice.”
“Fair? Fair?” Uma laughed hysterically, and spoke, “She has almost killed my first mate. He is my goddamn life. If you don’t punish her, Ben, peace or no, I will hunt her down and kill her myself. Nobody touches my people.”
“That’s not something a young girl should say-“
Fairy Godmother began, only to be cut off.
“Really?”
Evie broke in, milder but disappointment still shining through, “Because everyday on the Isle was like this. Uma had to hurt people to protect her own, and she doesn’t have to be sorry about it- she did what was necessary. You made us grow up there, surrounded by violence and hate, and then expect us to fit right in being normal?”
“That’s not what they meant, E.”
Ben tried to defuse the situation, and it mostly worked, but Gil said something to shut them all up-
“Uma, I don’t understand. Audrey tried to hurt Auradon and Harry and we’re saving her? But when we did it, didn’t people try to kill us?”
None of the elders in the room were ready to accept responsibility for what they had done, but they were shaken to the core. To fill the uncomfortable silence, Fairy Godmother moved to the side of the bed again, recasting the spell to check their vitals, and then gasped.
“They have roughly three hours, and that’s the end of the line.”
Uma clenched down on Harry’s hand so hard she was afraid she had broken something. Three hours? What were they going to do in three hours? Slowly, she brought his knuckles to her lips, kissing his calloused hands. What wouldn’t she have done to see him up and flirting and winking at her while she did this?
I love you.
She would never even get to tell him.
Mal took a steadying breath.
“The only person who can do anything to help them,” she paused and restarted, nerves visible, “is Hades.”
“Hades?” Uma asked in surprise, her mind working fast, thinking of possibilities and hopes, something that could save Harry. A little rumour she had heard down at the docks, on Ginny’s side, knocked at her head...
“Why would he help? It’s too risky.” Ben asked, ever the voice of reason.
Uma was just about ready to leap up and say fuck risky, I’ll barter my soul to him if Harry gets to live, when Mal spoke up again.
“Actually, he might for me. Hades’s my father.”
“What?” Gil asked out loud, eyebrows rising high up.
“So it’s true then.” The sea witch said in an impressed tone.
“You knew?” The purple haired fairy whipped her head around to look at her in surprise.
“I heard about it, wasn’t too sure whether to believe it. That turncoat Zeke heard a conversation at Hun’s and reported back to me.”
“Why did the Huns have any of my information?”
Mal asked, her brow furrowing.
“What do you think Claudine was doing with the two older Gastons all the time? And Boogey tells us all about the things he hears while going about looking cute.”
Belle interrupted the conservation.
“You have quite the.... information agency set up. It sounds a bit like running a kingdom.”
“It is,” said Uma simply, and then showed teeth, “Except bloodier.”
Ben started, “Uma, Gil, does Harry have any family back in the Isle? We’re not bringing Captain Hook here, obviously, but if his mother or someone- we could get the guards to bring them along with Hades.”
“Yeah,” the daughter of Ursula said quietly, “His sisters, Harriet and CJ, bring them here. Don’t worry about Old Hook- I wouldn’t have asked you to bring him anyway. You’ll need to ask one of the guards to carry something to show them my face through video- they won’t go anywhere with Auradon dressed guards. Harriet will come for her brother, and CJ trusts me.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, why did you say you wouldn’t bring over Harry’s father even if you had the choice? I mean, surely...”
Fairy Godmother interjected, all sweetness and concern, and the Captain immediately tensed.
“Not my story to tell,” she said tersely, and then added, “You let these monsters raise children, and then you worry about us now? What about when he was so young he couldn’t fight back? When I couldn’t fight for him, either? Every kid there is-“
Her voice broke, and Carlos gravely put in his confirmation.
“It’s true. None of us had a good life there, and none of the kids there do. We fought against you then, Uma, but I can understand why you have so much anger for the people here. The four of us-“
He gestured to Mal, Evie, Jay and himself-
“We were so caught up in our shiny new lives here that we forgot about the ones suffering there. We’re sorry, Uma.”
“Don’t apologise to me,” she said sadly, “Say it to Jura who got beaten up so bad he can’t walk no more, and say it to Mandy Mim whose mother died cause they don’t have hospitals to give a safe birth there, or Quilla Heart and Ginny Gothel who got knocked around pretty awful near the center area.”
“Quilla?” Surprisingly, it was Jay who looked the most pained at that, “She was the sweetest out there.”
The silence that followed was deafening. The former King and Queen looked horrified, and Fairy Godmother was fanning herself in consternation.
With an almost defeated sigh, Uma settled herself closer to her first mate, clutching tight. The emotion of the day almost overwhelmed her.
“Just come back to me.” She whispered, bending down to press a kiss on his closed eyelids.
A single tear ran down her cheek.
-X-
Uma’s back was sore. Really, really sore. That’s what happened when you sat on a ramrod straight on a bed without a backrest for two hours after having the most gruelling and emotionally fraught 24 hours ever.
None of it even registered with her.
A scuffle of shoes at the door interrupted her silent vigil. Uma looked up to see the Auradon guards accompany both Harriet and CJ into the room. The Hook girls stopped hissing at the officers the minute they saw their brother’s body, staring at it.
Her voice was scratchy as she instructed, “You can leave now.”
The guards didn’t move, until Ben popped his head in and ushered them out.
The minute the rich mahogany door was shut, CJ allowed her eyes to show her tears and ran to Uma immediately, hugging her waist.
“Uma?” She asked, fear in her voice, “Harry’s going to be okay, right? Why’ve they called us here?”
Harriet, who had been in a shocked, vulnerable state till then, snapped out of it.
“Don’t be stupid, CJ.” She bit out, and her lain leaked through even though she tried to sound hard, “You think these people would’ve let us out if it weren’t to say goodbye to Harry?”
“Not goodbye,” Uma said sharply, holding CJ a little tighter, “Not yet at least. Hades, he might...”
“Oh yeah, Hades,” Harriet snorted rudely, “Sure, Hades who’s sat around listening to opera music for twenty years in his lair, is somehow going to get my brother back.”
“We have to try!” Uma argued, even though the sinking feeling in her chest pessimistically whispered,
He’s gone, Uma, and you did that.
“Tell me something,” The eldest Hook spat, “How did it happen? The bitch must have known that you or Mal were the real dangers.”
The sea witch bent her head in shame and resignation, “He took it for me. Told me to make sure you two were okay.”
Harriet laughed bitterly in disbelief.
“Of fucking course it was for you. Of course. Mad about you, my brother, and I don’t see why. You’ve done nothing but boss over him, use him, and now you managed to kill him. Congratulations, should I-“
Uma saw red.
Harriet and her weren’t always like this. They were good once, and she used to call her Ettie and run around with all the siblings. But then Uma grew up, and Harry preferred to spend his time with her more than anyone. Everyone knew that the first person in his life was Uma. And Harriet thought he was being foolish, especially when he was First Mate instead of Captain, and when Uma became a rival Pirate Captain on the Isle to her. Their crews had never gone to war, mostly because of Harry, but relations weren’t too friendly either.
And that was okay. Uma got it- she wasn’t so fond of the hard-and-fast talking Harriet Hook, roughest and toughest out there, either.
But to say that she killed Harry?
“HE’S NOT DEAD YET!” Uma exploded, moving away from CJ to come threateningly close to the eldest girl in the room, who stood unfazed.
“HE’S NOT DEAD YET, SO STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM LIKE THAT. GODS ALIVE, YOU THINK YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE WHO IS HURTING? I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR HIM! I NEED HIM, HARRIET, I-“
Harriet’s cool facade broke, and the smallest flinch registered in her. She backed down, looking away and sitting on the couch nearest to the bed. A clear sign of defeat- Uma won this one. Even victory over Harrie Hook didn’t taste as sweet as it should have.
Uma was breathing hard and harsh, and she had to take a few seconds to compose herself.
CJ, who had been silent up until now, spoke up, her voice raw.
“If he does go,” she breathed, “It’s the way he would have wanted to. He would’ve been okay with this. Anything for his Captain, he would have said.”
Uma could barely stop herself from breaking down right there and then, so Harriet filled up the empty space with words of grudging acceptance and grief.
“Yeah,” she said, “He really would have.”
The three pirate girls sat together silently until the door opened again a few minutes later, to show Ben and the God of the Underworld himself, accompanied by Mal and Evie. Gil hadn’t come- seeing Harry like that had been to much for him when he first saw the body and the high of victory was immediately replaced by devastation. He’d been holed up in Jay’s room since then, who’d offered it out of sympathy and goodwill.
“Hey,” Ben said, “He’s holding up, right?”
“Just about.” CJ said squeakily, before squinting at him, “You’re the King, aren’t you?”
“Uh, yes,” he replied, a little taken aback by her springy curls and cute face.
What, was he expecting Isle kids to have horns and a devil tail?
“There aren’t any rotten bananas around.” CJ said disappointedly.
“Why do you need them, CJ?” It was Evie who asked, taking over from Harriet and Uma as the sole entertainer of the kid. They were too numb to do it.
The little girl looked right at Ben and scowled darkly, saying, “I promised Ginny that I’d throw them at the King if I saw him.”
Mal laughed out loud, while Ben looked both amused and serious. Hades winked at CJ, and said, “Atta girl.”
Even Uma had to crack a smile at that.
Considerably relieved now that the atmosphere of the room has lightened due to the small influx of humour, Ben conveyed the information.
“Hades here is going to use the ember to wake him, hopefully. It worked with Audrey a few minutes before-“
“Audrey?” Harriet interrupted, looking at the royal incredulously, “Ain’t that the name of the bitch who cursed Harry?”
“Yeah, but, we can’t let her die. She’s a person too-“
The eldest Hook stood up abruptly, and Mal and Uma exchanged glances. This was going to get ugly. Already, the tension had risen all over again.
“In the Isle, we would have left her to die and then strung her up in the town square. Where’s your justice? My brother dies and you’ll save his murderer?”
“I understand your anger, but please-“
Harriet cut off Ben’s pacifying sentence with a terrifying snarl, her lips drawn back over her sharp teeth, anger gleaming in her eyes, easily slipping into her pirate speak when angry. Unlike Harry, both the Hook sisters disguised their accent everyday.
“Listen, King. Me brother may be the one with the hook and his looks, but I got me daddy’s temper. Ye don’t want to see me show it.”
Fear was obvious in Ben’s face- and who wouldn’t be scared, faced with a knife-wielding, angry as fuck Harriet Hook- but he stood tall.
“I understand,” he said, his voice gentle, “I really do. If that was Mal, I’d have done the same. But there are rules, and I knew Audrey before. I’m going to change the way things work around here. We’re going to save your brother, Harriet.”
Uma wished she had his confidence.
“Alright,” Harriet sighed loudly, plopping back down, “I need a fucking drink.”
At Ben’s gesture, Hades moved to Harry’s side. He began whirling his ember around, chanting in an ancient language, and swirls of blue floated around. Uma refused to let go of Harry’s hand through it all.
Something changed, and Hades’s chanting grew more intense. All of a sudden, Harry’s body jerked on the silk sheets, and Uma let out an involuntary gasp at the motion.
The pulse in her hands started beating faster, and she almost stopped breathing. Thank god, thank fucking Auradon, and Mal and her crazy powerful dad, Harry was going to live, she felt it, she knew it-
“He’ll be okay now-“ Hades said.
Uma screwed her eyes shut before she could cry again, dear god, everyone would think she was going soft-
“But he almost wasn’t.”
“What? Why?” Mal demanded, hands on her hips.
“Even though the sceptre didn’t have your mother behind it, it still packed quite a punch. And I think the girl fuelled all her hatred into it, and it was a lot. He barely made it, but there was something he was holding onto very strongly here. A connection he wouldn’t let go of.”
As he spoke, Hades glanced meaningfully at Uma.
“Oh, you magnificent sea bitch!” Harriet burst out, and everyone, even Ben who had just met her, were shocked to see tears in her blue eyes, “I don’t know whether to skewer you or hug you!”
Uma laughed through her own tears and CJ got up to run towards her again, and she gladly flung the girl round and round, while Harriet watched, a somewhat sappy smile on her face.
It would be perfect if Harry was there to see it.
“There’s one more thing,” Hades added apologetically, “He might have some trouble breathing properly for a couple of months, and his lungs will always be very slightly vulnerable. There’s only so much a God in chains can do.”
“Don’t worry,” Ben said quickly, “We have good medicine here in Auradon. We’ll make sure he’s taken care of.”
Well, that sucked. But anything was better than what Uma had thought was going to happen, and so she was okay with it. Before she knew what she was even going she made her way to Mal’s side and touched her shoulder lightly.
“Thank you,” she said sincerely, “And for what it’s worth, I’m sorry for spelling your boyfriend. Without you, Harry... I’ll always be grateful.”
“You don’t have to be.” The future queen assured, returning a smile. Right then, grinning at her sworn enemy for years, Uma felt a little bit of that hope she’d been thinking about earlier.
Maybe some fences could be mended, after all.

I’m Hooked On All These Feelings (Harry of Auradon AU) Part 12-End
Hey everyone! This is the final chapter! Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has read and supported this story.
Tumblr media
Anyway, this is also posted on on AO3 or FF.net. Here’s the link for Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 3, Part 4, Part 5,  Part 6 ,  Part 7, Part 8, Part 9 , Part 10 , and Part 11 of the story.
Maleficent’s head crashed against the floor, the vibrations nearly knocking most people off their feet. A final exhale was released before both head and body turned into dust before completely disappearing.
Jay cautiously got up from holding Mal, slowly stepping back as if dealing with a wild animal.
Uma moved silently towards Mal, sword down but cautious. Her face was expressionless as she watched Mal’s body shake with sobs. Uma’s entire body sang with energy so intense she clutched tightly to the hilt of her sword.
Her legs itched, feeling too dry, too restricted. She wanted nothing more than to follow the call of the sea and test her new limits. To see how long she could swim and be one with the waves and tides before she ever felt tired. She wanted to sail the seas. She wanted to see the shores of Neverland that Harry always spoke about with such delight and wonder. (She wanted to watch that look of wonder unfold across his face again and again and again. To soak it in. To kiss it like the sun and sea kiss at the horizon…)
But not now.
The fight wasn’t over. Not yet.
There was one last dragon to slay.
Mal’s sobs suddenly stopped as she turned to Uma. Green eyes flashed haphazardly. “You did this,” she said so quietly Uma almost didn’t hear her. Getting shakily up to her feet, Mal’s face twisted with raw anger. “YOU. DID. THIS!” Mal howled, body shaking, blurring around the edges, a hazy smoke that Uma eyed wearily. As if a line holding her up had snapped, Mal bent over, the weight of her despair pulling her down. “FIX IT!” she ordered at the ground.
“No,” Uma firmly stated with the power of thunder in her voice and steel in her stance.
Mal gasped.
“Please Uma. Fix it!” Mal fell to her knees, hands raised and outstretched to Uma as if she was her only salvation. Her green eyes were soft and filled with something that Uma would never be able to be forgiving enough to call love. “Uma. Please. You can do it. I know you can. You can- you were-just, please!”
Uma’s face was a complete expressionless mask. Rage boiled beneath her skin. Had Mal ever listened to her pleas? Had she listened? Had she? HAD SHE?
She took a step forward, bending forward to whisper into Mal’s ear, warm breath caressing her ear in a mocking twisted imitation of a lover’s murmur. “Rotten roots make rotten apples,” she said before pulling away, a not at all small part of herself relishing the way that Mal’s face crumbled at those words.
Mal glared up at her. “So what are you going to do? Slay me too?” she nodded towards the sword in Uma’s grip.
Uma’s grip on the hilt of her sword tightened. It would be so easy to do that, wouldn’t it? But then...she would be no better than the villains that she had grown up around...or the heroes that had left them on the Isle in the first place.
“No,” Uma shook her head. “You aren’t worth my time,” she said sheathing her sword dismissively.
Mal’s expression cracked. She looked more creature than human, snarled mouth and fae like features sharpened and inhuman. Claw like hands reached out to wrap around Uma’s neck and wring out every last breath...
...and then Mal collapsed against the floor with a thud and a loud snore.
“Wow. Mother was right. Apples do make sleeping potions more potent,” Evie hummed conversationally as she looked at a small spray bottle before tucking it into the pocket of her dress. “Maybe taking a little nap will put her in a better mood.”
Uma hummed distractedly, looking down at her lifelong tormentor. She had never seen Mal’s face so relaxed and peaceful before. She knew that she should be figuring out a more long term solution for Mal but as she felt someone turn her around and lift her up into the air, Uma found it difficult to allow Mal to get in the way of her happiness any more.
“Uma,” Harry purred against her stomach as she dropped her sword, her hands finding perch on his shoulders. “Uma,” he murmured again, placing her feet back on the ground, their foreheads pressed together. “Uma.”
“Harry,” Uma found herself smiling, releasing a breath she had been holding now that she was able to touch him again. Her heart beat loudly in her ears, her cheeks warm. He looked at her like she was his world, a feeling that made Uma feel both powerful and terrified.
For Harry, he never knew until that moment that his name could be said with so much fondness. Her hand instantly began running through his wet hair, his knees nearly buckling, praise falling from his lips like the most delicate pearls. He leaned forward and tucked his face into her deck, breathing deeply and pressing a lingering kiss on her neck before pulling back, pressing his forehead against her again.
The necklace around his neck hummed in tandem with the one tucked underneath her collar, wrapping them in magic that made his blood sing, too much magical energy rushing through him with no release. But each run of Uma’s fingers through his hair seemed to siphon off all of the excess energy he hadn’t realized he’d been holding in for days until this moment. A delicate and delicious balance of pain and pleasure.
“Sorry,” the sea witch murmured, bumping gently her nose against his before taking one of his hands into hers.
Sorry for running.
Sorry for being afraid of whatever was growing between them.
Sorry for doing anything that put space between them.
“Oh! An apology! I see those Remedial Goodness classes are working out,” Harry softly teased, wrapping his other arm around her waist, pushing her further against him, teal and red colliding. He pressed his lips against hers to drink in the soft gasp that escaped hers like it was the only thing that could sustain him...Like she was the only one that could sustain him.
“Maybe you should get a room.”
Harry blinked, dazed, then pouted as Uma pushed him away with a laugh. He glared at Ben who only grinned smugly back.
“You know, your majesty,” Harry pointed his finger at the now king, his other hand already reaching out to pull Uma back against his side. “You are a terrible wingman.”
Uma rolled her eyes at Harry, slapping his hand away before turning her attention to Ben instead.
“I’m not going to apologize for what I did,” she stated as the coronation goers including Adam, Belle, Fairy Godmother, Audrey, and a now awake and ashamed look Jane began to enter back in. “For breaking Gil out of jail or stealing from the museum.” She picked up the sword from where it fell on the ground, feeling the heavy but grounding weight of the sword. “Or even for killing Maleficent,” she looked down at Mal’s unconscious form still on the ground. “It had to be done.”
Fairy Godmother gasped taking in the Sword and Shield of the Three Good Fairies that Uma and Gil were holding, respectively. “Unfortunately Uma, all actions must have their consequences!” she tutted. “Uma, you are guilty for obviously breaking out Gil and you both are guilty of stealing from the Auradon History Museum! The rules are there for a reason! To keep order. Punishment for such deplorable actions must be given!”
“Are you going to punish Uma by making her fall off a roof to her death?” Gil asked worriedly, stepping protectively next to Uma. “That’s what King Beast did to my dad.”
Adam and Belle both paled at the memory.
“Or maybe pushing people off cliff edges is your more your style, Fairy Godmother” Evie asked with an innocent pout, eyes sharp and calculating as she stood behind Uma.
Fairy Godmother look offended. “W-why I’d never-”
“Maybe they’ll make you go insane before locking you up,” Carlos interrupted, easily dodging out of Fairy Godmother’s reach as she tried to grab back her wand from him. He moved next to Evie, behind and slightly to the side of Uma, handing her the wand.
Everyone in the room seemed to tense as Uma fluidly took the wand, handing Harry the sword.
“Or maybe,” Jay said stepping up to Uma, his eyes never leaving her guarded brown ones. “They’ll turn you into a slave and keep you in a prison so small and restricting you’ll beg for death as long as that means you’d be free.”
Unspoken words went between Jay and Uma for several seconds before Uma nodded, and Jay slid easily right behind Uma, between Carlos and Evie.
Uma gazed at the wand, running a long line down it with a finger, a thoughtful expression on her face. She turned her gaze towards Fairy Godmother, watching smugly as the woman paled in fear.
It would be so easy to lean into it. To make them all fear her name.
She glanced over at Mal’s unconscious body, hand gripping the wand even more tightly, before looking back up.
“You know, a lot of people on the Isle would literally kill to get their hands on this thing,” she said with an almost absentminded tone that was betrayed by the way she flicked the wand experimentally, dangerous gold and teal sparks flying from its end. Everyone except Harry, Ben, and the rest of the Isle kids took a fearful step back. “It would be so easy to just...” shrug, “...tear the barrier down. Free all the kids who never got a chance to choose for themselves whether they would be heroes or villains. I’m sure all our parents would be so thrilled for a reunion with all of you,” she smiled at Ben’s parents and the headmistress.
“And with Maleficent gone and Mal temporarily out of the picture, I wouldn’t be surprised if it became a power struggle between the baddest of the bads that led to your pretty little kingdoms falling. One. After. The. Other,” she punctuated with flicks of her wrists that shot out spells as easy as breathing.
Waves of magic that smelled like sea salt flowed throughout the room, righting knocked over furniture and erasing scorched marks. Thick iron handcuffs appeared around Mal’s wrist which wouldn’t kill the half fae but would definitely leave an irritating rash against her skin.
“So cool,” Gil whispered in awe as she also made their clothes dry and clean. And just to see the look on the woman’s face, Uma changed Fairy Godmother’s gown into a patch worked Isle version of her signature cape.
The sea witch smirked, crossing her arms over her chest at the indignant squawk the woman gave. “I mean, it’s like you said, Fairy Godmother: Punishment for such deplorable actions must be given. And I think allowing innocent children to grow up and starve on an Isle full of thieves, killers, rapists, and swindlers deserves punishment too, don’t you?”
Fairy Godmother, grew pale, eyes growing dangerously wide as the wand was lazily pointed towards her. Before she could mess with anyone else, Ben stepped in front of her, hand outstretched to her with that gentle patient smile of his, all kingly justice and naivety wrapped up in sincere blue and gold wrappings.
Uma sighed as she felt Harry tense next to her but didn’t hold a grudge against him. Ben with his kindness and loyalty and good faith in others had gotten under her skin.
“Help me then,” he said simply to her before looking at the other Isle kids around her. “All of you. Be the solution. Uma, you told me once about how cruel the Isle can be. So help me get kids like you, kids whose backs have been pushed against the wall and are just trying to survive the only way they know how, here where they can be safe.”
“And what makes you think helping you appeals to me at all?” Uma questioned.
Ben smiled, as if she had asked something obvious.
“Because,” he looked towards Harry.  “Even though he’s basically committing treason right now, I still trust Harry and his decisions with my life. Because even before you took down an actual dragon, you cared. I could see it and I think I can guess that the only reason you let yourself be the subject of the love spell on me was because it was better than it being Mal. And because when I look at you and Harry,” his voice filled with warmth and genuineness, “it just fits. Does that make sense?”
Uma snorted, shaking her head though a small smile broke through. The hand not holding the wand reached out without looking and easily slipping into Harry’s, giving it a tight squeeze.
“It’s starting to.”
Harry grinned, raising their entwined hands up to his lips to kiss her knuckles. Uma glanced at him, seeing all the tension release from his shoulders and ignoring the way her heart lurched as if it wanted to punch right through her chest to be closer to him. She looked to her other side at Gil who was beaming brightly down at her and for once in her life Uma felt without fear. Her body felt light and filled with warmth that she had never really experienced before.
She was happy. She was free.
Stepping forward, Uma handed Fairy Godmother her wand back. The headmistress, let a relieved smile split her face before stepping back, doing a small flick that returned her dress back to the gown she was wearing.
Ben cleared his throat, drawing attention back to him.
“Uma of the Isle,” Ben said with a grin. “As King, any crimes that you or the others have committed in the last week have been pardoned. Good deeds deserve to be recognized just as much as bad ones deserve to be punished,” he winked.
Uma paused. “Are you serious?” she questioned.
Ben nodded. “Very. So it is said, so it be done.”
“So you’re not sending us back to the Isle?” Carlos questioned.
“Nope. You’re free to stay in Auradon if you wish.”
“Oh, we wish,” Carlos said happily giving both Jay and Gil a high five while Evie squealed with genuine happiness. Harry could tell King Adam and Queen Belle seemed exchanged unsure glances with each other behind Ben but kept silent, trusting their son’s judgement.
Evie stepped forward. “Your majesty. Ben,” she smiled taking his hands. “There’s a lot of kids on the Isle who deserve a happy ending. If I’m not being too bold, I’d like to offer my help in getting more kids off the Isle and aiding in their transition here.”
Ben grinned, squeezing her hand. “I would love that Evie."
"Uh...we'd like to help too," Jay said humbly. Carlos nodded next to him. "There's a lot more kids like us who need their pain and aggression channeled through more positive influences," he said glancing at Uma with a sad smile before looking back at the king. "I know that was true for me."
"That's great! Write me a list of all of your ideas and we can-” Ben began but was cut off by a loud commotion outside.
“They’re here!” Gil perked up, looking eagerly between Uma and Harry before pushing through the confused crowd to the door. Uma and Harry grinned at each other as well, quickly following Gil.
Ben followed them outside, unsure of what to expect with Evie, Jay, and Carlos behind him. When he got outside, the king had to do a double take at what he saw.
A large crowd of children from toddlers to gangly teenagers wearing the distinctive patchwork clothing of the Isle stood on the steps leading up to the coronation hall. Looks of wonder, fear, and awe were all on their faces as they looked around the bright and clean views of Auradon taking it all in. One little girl with glasses and colorful streaks of hair pulled into messy ponytails at the top of her hair pulled away from the group and ran towards them straight towards Evie.
“Dizzy,” Evie exclaimed happily, pulling the younger girl into her arms in a tight hug, Dizzy speaking with rapid excitement
“Remember what you said about pardoning us for any crimes we may have committed this week?” Carlos grinned holding up the remote that let down the Isle’s barrier.
“I wasn’t going to forget that we weren’t the only ones who needed to get off the Isle,” Uma said with a look that said she dared him to say something negative about her freeing a bunch of Isle kids.
Ben was speechless for a moment before he shook his head with a laugh. “I guess you and I have our work ahead of us,” he chuckled at Evie before turning to Uma. “Any other surprises?”
“Just one more Benny!” a familiar voice shouted above them, a large shadow falling on them all.
The new King paled as ship covered in fairy dust floated over them, CJ wearing a very obvious Isle inspired outfit as she hung off one of the rigs, iridescent wings flashing a kaleidoscope of colors behind her. On board the deck of the ship, he could see more Isle kids yelling with excitement over the boat edges as they shouted at and pointed at the dumbstruck Auradon citizens below.
“UMA!” they all cheered, when they saw her teal hair. Someone threw down a rope ladder that Gil already started climbing up.
“That’s our ride,” Harry grinned. “I’m guessing we’ll have two days head start before you send Harriet after us?”
Shaking his head, Ben patted him on the shoulder. If it lingered longer than necessarily, neither boy pointed it out. “Oh, not even being the High King of Auradon can stop Harriet from giving you anything more than an hour head start.”
Harry ran his hand through his hair. “Yeah, you’re right. But this is what I want,” he said softly, glancing over at Uma who had already said her goodbyes to Evie, Jay, and Carlos and was climbing up the rope ladder. “She’s what I want.”
Ben reached out and pulled him into another hug. “Then I’ll try to get you at least two hours headstart,” he grinned pulling away.
“Just two?”
“Well my fiance is running away with a beautiful woman so forgive me if I’m feeling a bit scorned,” Ben teased.
Harry rolled his eyes as he began to climb the rope ladder. “You’re never gonna let that go are you?” he shouted over his shoulder as the ship began to rise.
“Nope!” Ben shouted back, becoming smaller and smaller.
Harry shook his head, a smile on his lips before climbing the rest of the way up. Uma reached out and helped to tug him over the side of the ship despite her small frame. They stumbled however, and Harry found himself bringing Uma closer to him once more to keep their balance.
“You’re amazing,” he found himself breathing out as he looked into her brown eyes.
“Not bad yourself, sailor,” Uma chuckled, allowing herself to enjoy being in his arms, leaning towards him, lips barely brushing against each other.
“Captain!” CJ shouted from where she now stood at the wheel.
“Yes?” Both Harry and Uma said at the same time. Uma glared at him, a look that would have made other men tremble in their boots, but for Harry made him smile with glee, letting out a little giggle.
CJ rolled her eyes at the two of them. “Where are we heading?”
“We’ll go where the wind takes us!” Uma grinned before looking at Harry. “Together,” she said softer so that only he could hear her.
He grinned, a wild crazed look that buzzed in the presence of the surrounding pixie dust, threatening to overwhelm him. But Uma’s presence kept him anchored. Every touch, every smile, every little wrinkle of her nose kept him from drowning. The necklace around his neck thrummed, vibrating with unsaid but acknowledge feelings of warmth, trust, and love. Uma reached up to her necklace, the Nevershell she had given him and he knew she felt the same.
Pivoting on his heel, Harry’s manic grin grew wider as everyone’s eyes were on them. “You heard the Captain,” he laughed. “We ride with the wind! Now get your lazy asses moving or I’ll toss you over myself,” he barked as he began to give orders to their crew, easily inspiring both fear and awe despite being Auradon born.
“Uma,” Gil asked softly next to her as they watched Harry tease one of the crew, Jonas, about his horrible knots. “Is this what happily ever afters feel like?”
Uma shook her head. “No...this is better.”

Thank you all again and I hope you stay for this journey!
Summary: Ruby Hearts, daughter of the infamous Queen of Hearts, was abandoned by her mother when she was young and forced to live with her father, the King of Hearts, in Auradon.  Harry Hook himself may be the only one who finds her madness enchanting. Will Ruby find her self falling for the rugged pirate, or will the roses bleed red?
Prologue / Chapter 1: Down the Rabbit Hole / Chapter 2
Ruby's paintbrush glided over the wallpaper, leaving red strokes in its path. A small music system played softly in the background. Even after already attending Auradon Prep for a year, her room always needed something to hide the pretty-pink-princess-ness of it underneath, and merely changing the horrendously colored bed covers were not enough. She had taken to painting over the single colored wallpaper, her first time being a large pocket-watch with elaborate patterns that no one else ever heard tick-tocking the days away.
Prince Ben himself had given Ruby the paints after having noticed her in Art 101; the mindless mutterings and frantic look in her eyes seemed to fade when a paintbrush was in her hand. She was thankful for him showing up to her dorm room that day, bottles upon bottles of paint in haul, a kind smile on his face.
However, nothing ever fully quenched the illusions she had. Some days the walls were frozen, so close to shattering, others she was drowning in red, red blood. Of course, there were good days as well: being outfitted by Evie, playing catch with Dude and Carlos, watching Mal trip over her own two feet.
The tiny King of Hearts, Ruby's father, had decided to send her to Auradon the same time the VK's arrived. He assumed that the terrible villain kids would mask the aura of 'mad' surrounding his daughter just by being from the Isle themselves. It had worked, for a time. While Jay and Carlos were kind enough to her, Evie took Ruby under her wing, making sure she was always included. Mal was a different story though; Ruby had no idea why, but one of the voices in her head told her that the daughter of Maleficent was the wrong sort for her.
Fitting in became the wrong choice halfway through her first year; no one wanted to share a dorm with the 'crazy girl'. No one dared bother her while she was attending the roses in Auradon Prep's garden in fear of having their heads offed. No one even deemed her worthy of a friend, seeing her crazy ramblings as a sort of disease, even thought most times she was perfectly sane at having conversation.
But now was the beginning of a new year, things will be different she mused to herself as she dipped her paintbrush back into the blood red paint. She hummed to herself as she did so, completely blissful in the peace of the dorm, trying oh-so hard to not remember the memories that haunted her everyday. To not realize how this red paint almost matched perfectly with the blood that dripped onto a dead lawn all those years ago.
Ruby's focus was dropped by her door suddenly slamming open and she hissed in anger when her paintbrush slipped from its course. Her hand found a pen that was among her art materials around her, and promptly turned and flung it towards the open door. She missed of course, she always does, as could be told from the multiple shallow holes in the wall near her dorm room door.
"Whoa! Calm down there, Red!" Jay exclaimed from her doorway, Carlos was there with him and he seemed unfazed as he pulled the pen out of the wall and tossed it back to Ruby.
She caught it and placed it on the floor before grabbing her small towel to dab off the smear of imperfection before it dried forever on her wall.
"Thank you for ruining my lovely painting. If paintings could cry, this one would be because you nearly destroyed it," she huffed at the boys, who still stood out of breath in her doorway.
"You're supposed to be with us and the Welcome Committee, Ruby. The new VK's are showing up today," Carlos reminded her, matter of factually.
She cursed under her breath. She totally forgot about the new kids arriving today. I wonder, are their heads too big? Or perhaps too small? What a shame if they don't have heads at all. Ruby shook her head, clearing the voices as she stood and brushed off her outfit, a simple thigh-length black dress matched with heart stockings, and stumbled to put on a pair of red heels.
"Right, yes, the new VK's. Welcoming to the committee...erm, I wasn't supposed to do anything, was I?" She asked while trying to make her hair look somewhat decent. Even though it was lovely, the tips of her deep black hair being a rosy red, it was a mess nearly everyday of the week.
"Nope, just show up and smile," Jay quipped at her as she closed the door, viewing the bleeding rose on her wall one last time before hurrying with the two boys outside.
The trio made it too the entrance of the school right as a black limousine pulled up. The boys led Ruby to where Evie was standing before running to find other friends.
"Hey, Ruby," Evie greeted her, ever present smile on her face.
"Hey, Evie," Ruby responded, cautiously looking around to see if her somewhat dunce of a father came to see the new kids.
Evie looked at the girl and gestured to her face. "You've got a bit of paint there," the blue haired girl said, just as the doors to the limo opened.
"Oh, um...thanks," Ruby replied and used the back of her hand to wipe the paint away, only to succeed in smearing it over her cheek.
"Welcome to Auradon!" Fairy Godmother's voice carried over the cheering crowd, effectively ending the fanfare as well. "Allow me to introduce you to King Ben and his girlfriend Mal!"
Ruby glanced and caught sight of said couple, glaring when she noticed Mal looking at her. Too small head. No hat would ever fit her, one of the voices in Ruby's head commented. She shook out her thoughts and gasped in surprise when Evie pulled her forward. She missed nearly the entire conversation that was happening and had zero idea why Evie decided to announce her presence.
"Fairy Godmother," Evie said to the overly cheerful woman, "Even though I would absolutely adore showing our newest guests around, I think it would be an even BETTER idea to let Ruby do it!" She exclaimed, nearly bouncing with happiness at her grand scheme.
"What- no, Evie it's fine I gotta-" Before Ruby could finish her sentence Fairy Godmother cut her off.
"OH what a wonderful idea!! Ruby, these are our new students, Uma, Gil, and Harry! I do hope you all make great friends! Now, if you'll excuse us, class is waiting! The doors of wisdom are never shut!"
And with that Fairy Godmother gestured for everyone back to the school, but of course Audrey would never leave without having a few words first. As the brunette passed by Ruby she sneered "Of course, let the mad girl give the villains a tour, what a perfect match!"
Ruby paid her no mind, instead wondering what it would be like if she offed with her-
Ben gave Ruby a pat on the shoulder, silencing her vicious thoughts and gave her a good luck smile before walking with Mal back into the school. Ruby huffed and prepared herself and turned around to greet her newest friends.
She stared for only a second, muttering under her breath about their seemingly normal sized heads before she gave a smile and spread out her arms.
"Well, welcome to Boradon, where the princes are far from charming and the only color the people know of is 'pretty princess pink.'"
A dark skinned girl with light blue hair snorted at Ruby's introduction, while the boys laughed, giving a nod to the girl. "Amazing, someone who lives here who hates this place as much as we do. I'm Uma, daughter of Ursula," she gave her hand out for a shake (which Ruby accepted) and gestured to the two boys next to her. "This is Gil, and Harry."
Ruby smiled at the two boys, some forlorn memory tugging at the back of her mind, telling her she knew this girl, her thoughts turning at the name 'Harry'.
Harry's eyes raked over her before taking a few steps towards her, "Well well well," he said, his accent pulling memories out from Ruby's head. "It seems ye may have made a bit of a mess, lass," he said, licking his thumb and wiping off the smeared paint from Ruby's cheek. One of her eyebrows raised in question, though she definitely felt the heat rising to her face.
"Um..."
Uma rolled her eyes and gave a smack to the back of Harry's head, earning a shout of protest from the boy. Still, Ruby couldn't help but feel she stared into those same blue eyes before...
"Let's get this tour thing started!" Gil exclaimed, oblivious to the somewhat awkward/intimate moment
"Right, uh, this way," Ruby once again shook away her confusion, ignoring the way the sun reflected off her red heels and making it seem as though they were bleeding. She turned and led them into the school.
"Now, normally I'd have to tell you the history of our esteemed school, but honestly it's just of bunch of nonsense. Some king went 'wow I would be super cool if I made a school for royalty' and so he did a got a commemorative statue because of it." Ruby talked as she led the group into the main foyer.
"Sounds about right," Uma commented, spinning in a slow circle as she took in the school.
"Woah!" Ruby turned and saw Gil gently petting a potted plant, "What is this? It's so green!"
"That's, uh, that's a plant," Ruby answered him, slightly amused by his reaction to said plant. "There's a whole garden out the back way. It's a lot more interesting than showing you the useless classrooms in here."
Uma and Harry didn't get a chance to respond as Gil took off, a smile on his face. Ruby stayed where she was and called out to him, "Wrong way!"
Once outside, Gil ran off into the bushes of flowers, Harry running to catch up to the boy. Uma stayed behind, walking the pathway with Ruby.
"I never got to thank you," the dark-skinned girl spoke.
"Thank...me?" Ruby questioned, before her mind flooded with memories of a small crying girl that she never got to console. "Oh, um."
Uma looked at her, her face sincere, "No really, thank you. No one ever...No one's ever tried to be there for me when I'm not feeling myself. And that day was, uh, particularly bad," she confessed.
"Oh...well, you're welcome. I never...had friends when I was little, and I just wanted to be nice I guess. The flowers never wanted me to have friends, they were not so nice," Ruby told her.
"Right," Uma nodded, slightly confused but thankful nonetheless. "I'm glad to see you out of that hellhole, too. I mean, the Isle was bad but your mother..I can't even imagine."
Ruby let her fingers dance across the daisy's as the two girls walked. She tried to not dwell on memories of the past, of that house, that woman. "Thanks. Things are better here, I guess. The walls may freeze, and the momwraths outgrabe, but if you know where you're going then it doesn't really matter at all."
Uma was spared a response when the two caught up with Harry and Gil, ironically where the rosebushes were. Ruby's body froze when she noticed Harry gripping a rose, almost as if he were about to pluck it off the bush.
"Don't!" She yelled, running and pushing the pirate away from her beloved roses. After checking the rose was okay, she turned to Harry, her finger pointing at him in accusation. "Don't you make the roses angry, you make them angry and broken and then they bicker nonstop and I'm the only one that has to deal with it."
"Whoa there, lass, 's just a wee flower,"Harry's hands went up into the air with a slight smirk on his face, one hand gripping a metal hook. A hook, how had Ruby not noticed it before. Her eyes widened at the glinting metal, the face of a younger boy clouding her mind.
"Just, don't touch my roses," She glared at him once more, Uma giving him an 'I told you so' look, before turning and leading them away from the gardens and to the tourney field.
The team was outside at practice when the small group arrived, and Ruby noticed Jay and Carlos waving to get her attention. The two boys ran to her, smelling like wet dog yet smiling like idiots.
"Hey, Red," They both greeted, out of breath.
Harry behind her scoffed. "This it? Tourney is a wee lad's game, with their little pointy sticks."
"That's because their lads are a bit wee," Ruby responded, smiling at Harry.
A weird look was shared among the others when suddenly Gil freaked out. He bent down as Dude strolled up, patting the dog happily. "What is this!!!!"
Jay and Carlos chuckled. "That's Dude, my dog," Carlos said.
"Wow," Gil said, amazed. "Dogs are cool."
"Wait 'till you see a zoo," Jay told him.
"A zoo?"
"Okay," Uma cut in, "As much as I enjoy..." she gestured to the group, "I think I'd like a bed a hell of a lot more."
"Right, well, we gotta get back to practice," Carlos nodded, running back to the team.
"See ya around," Jay said to Ruby (but mostly to Gil) as he followed suit.
"Back inside we go then," Ruby announced and led the trio indoors.
"Funny thing is," she said as they made it to the dorm quarters. "No one tells me a thing, so I have zero idea where your rooms are."
"'S alright," Harry answered, seemingly trying to break into one of the rooms. "We'll just pillage some for our own selves," his eyes glinted mischievously.
"That won't be necessary."
The four turned towards the voice, and Ruby was relieved to see it was only Ben.
"We already have rooms chosen out for you," he said, smiling and giving a quick wink to Ruby. "This way."
The group followed, and Ruby almost missed the way Harry's eyes glared into the back of Ben's head. Ben stopped right in front of Ruby's dorm, and opened a door right across from hers. "This will be for Harry and Gil," he stated, "And Uma, you're the next door down the hall. As much as I'd love to stay and chat, I've got a meeting to attend. It was nice to meet you all."
And with that he turned and marched back down from where they had came, leaving Ruby speechless and dumbfounded.
"Well, see ya, girl. I'm going take a well deserved nap," Uma said, smiling at Ruby before walking to her room.
Ruby opened the door to her room as Harry and Gil turned into their own. She quite literally kicked off her heels and walked to where she painting earlier that day. She let her hands gently glide over the bleeding rose, checking the paints dryness. She missed Harry sneaking in behind her, leaning on the door frame.
"Ye paint," he stated abruptly, making Ruby jump and spin towards the voice, wishing she had a pen to throw.
"Thank you, captain obvious. I do paint, what about it?" she told him, crossing her arms over her chest.
He tutted her, shaking his finger as he stepped closer to her. "Uma's the cap'n, lass. I'm 'er first mate. And, ye paint well."
Ruby became flustered and uncrossed her arms to scratch the back of her head. "Um, thanks." She suddenly pointed to the pocket watch painting, "Do you hear it, too?"
Instead of answering, Harry's hand whipped out and grabbed onto Ruby's wrist, causing her to stumble closer to him. The tip of his hook gently ran over the line of her scar, the one she tried every day to ignore.
"I know ye," he whispered, blue eyes boring into her own.
"I know you too," she whispered back, visions of the unspoken day prodding her brain
Harry opened his mouth to respond, but a knock at Ruby's open door made the two jump away from each other.
"Hey!" It was Evie, eyes sparkling with another scheme. "I'm throwing a dinner party for our newest VK's. Ruby,  you're invited too, of course!" She exclaimed.
Harry and Ruby went into the hallway where Gil and Uma were already waiting. Uma gave a questioning look to the two. Harry's eyes cleared, his regular mischievous demeanor returning.
"Finally, food! I am famished!" he announced.
Gil bounced on his heels. "Is it like a food party? I've never been to a party. And with food! This place is amazing!"
Uma rolled her eyes at the boys and Ruby let out a small giggle.
"This way!" Evie said, guiding the group down the hall. They met up with Mal and Ben, Jay and Carlos, as well as Doug and Jane. Ruby couldn't help but feel that this was going to be a very uncomfortable tea party.

audrey rose centric fanfiction | post descendants three | canon compliant | part one of ? | rating : teen | warnings : swearing, anxiety | word count : 2521 | masterlist  | part two
“yes, gil, i promise they won’t make you drop out even if you don’t do your chores.  you don’t even have to do chores anymore.  you know that don’t you?”
audrey rose was trying her damn best to keep that god-forsaken snark out of her tone.  she was trying because honestly, she did care. she cared so much, in fact, that the blonde had taken it upon her self to see that every single villian kid on that damned isle would be happily situated in healthy and safe homes.  because she owes it to them, doesn’t she?
doesn’t she owe it to them after the half-ass apology she got from her royal highness, lady of the court, daughter of maleficent?  because she almost destroyed everything, which is enough for her to almost start screaming because she didn’t really mean to.
but, it’s not right to dwell on the past, (she can still hear those words coming out of her own grandmother’s mouth, seated in the formal living room on golden detailed sofas, praying the lesson would end so she could go see her future husband ben.)  she can think of old audrey, who’s snarky words were all that she had and held her tongue until one day it slipped loose of her hold. and now she’s lost everything, chad won’t look her in the eye (as he should, best friends don’t curse each other) but then she was queen, dark and incredibly regal so much so that she no longer had just her words, oh no, she had magic then, and she had made them pay (something still whispers that it’s not enough, they haven’t paid their dues, that it was only a fraction of the cost.  she had been cheated)
sometimes, when those words get too loud, she goes away. for days at a time, its only gone over a week once, which got her in so much trouble with her family, so she’ll never do that again. audrey never seems to remember where exactly she goes, which is certainly nightmarish in every way all things considered. (by all things she really means her little incident not so long ago)
god forbid she actually feel something out of line, the world would turn upside down should she ever be angry, or passionate.  even mal is walking on eggshells around her, the daughter of an effing villian scared of sweet little audrey rose.  it would be laughable if audrey wasn’t scared of herself too.
“are you sure? i can..” the boy looked around their surroundings, the calm chatter of the cluster of picnic tables near them drowning out the birds chirping (which audrey has come to find out, uma hates the noise, harry’s indifferent; though his captain disliking it makes him hate it too, and gil just adores it, which makes the other two say that they don’t care even though they were hellbent on making gil happy. this kind of behavior audrey may or may not be jealous of. nobody wants to make her happy, they just want to keep her from exploding, it sounds so tempting to let her emotions run free, however dangerous it is.)
audrey doesn’t let him finish, putting a soft hand over top his own the table, like ben does.  “i’m very sure.” she says with finality, which makes him beam gratefully causing the princess to smile in return. (”it’s a super power of his” harry had said. “uma coulda’ just lost a battle to mal and if he smiled, we were all doin better already.”)
but of course all so suddenly, disaster strikes. she can spot dark purple (a new establishment after several critiquing comments from  council members about the blue she had sported) out of the corner of eye and she can tell she visibly pales because even oblivious sweet gil looks at her with concern.  her hand leaves gil’s and goes to push herself off and up the table, heart pumping so loud it thunders through her.
gil’s face flashes briefly with alarm, before he turned around to discover the almost-queen laughing and waving at familiar faces and he turns back to her, his face soft with understanding (which fires up rage in her heart because he doesn’t understand, no one does.  nobodies ever kissed his boyfriend in front of everybody with no apology.)
she wants to snap at him, her mind reeling in a response as soon as he looked at her.  but she couldn’t. that was the old audrey, now she is kind and forgiving and gracious. (and jealous)
so instead she ignores him, (arguably not the best choice, but whatever) and picks up her purse from where it had been laid on the bench.  audrey offers a smile, “i’m not feeling too well, must’ve been something i ate.” she laughs to cover up her bundled nerves but she’s not fooling anybody.
but then, gil stands up with her and goes over to where she stands, she’s in shock but tries to keep a neutral face on, her eyes following him. normally he always lets her leave because he’s such a pushover sweet friend. are they friends? or is he just here to tell mal she’s not losing her fucking mind? because she is, but if you can convince everybody you’re not falling apart of anger but of sadness, nobody has to tell that your therapist is really just somebody you vent to, and that they don’t actually make your gnawing anxiety go away.
“audrey, you haven’t eaten anything.” she wants to cry at the way he says her name, like he’s fucking disappointed when he really doesn’t have any right to be.  it’s none of his business, but she really can’t think about it too much because she doesn’t want mal to see her and she doesn’t want to pretend to talk to her.
“oh,” the little noise she makes is pathetic and she immediately wishes she never made it she can’t let her guard down. “well i have to go talk to uh..” she tries to think of a name, any name that’s not mal bertha almost florian.  audrey realizes how unsure she sounds and she tries again, “i have to go talk to freddie, she wanted me to help her with her goodness 101 homework, it’s funny sometimes i forget i’m in that class too.” i don’t belong there tries to force it way out of her mouth which surprisingly would’ve gone perfectly with that bitter tone the last part was uttered in.
she tugs her arm out of his grip (she hadn’t even noticed that he had touched her in the first place isle instincts would’ve gifted her so greatly.) “so, i should go.  i’m sorry, i’m such a ditz i can’t believe i forgot!” she offers an apologetic smile and goes to turn but his arm is back, tighter this time, and she knows she isn’t getting away.
gil purses his lips like he’s in thought, before looking back at her. “i don’t believe for one minute that freddie needs help, mal helps her with her homework.” audrey opens her mouth to say something, whether an apology or an excuse she isn’t sure. “but --” her mouth abruptly closes with the look he gives her. “-- we are going to go with harry and uma and the four of us will do our homework together” he finishes with passion and a firm nod of his head, leaving no room for argument.
audrey wants to snarl and say something clever and fiendish like how he is dumb as rocks and really won’t be able to do the homework which isn’t true. she almost sobs at how easy it is to be mean, how quick she would’ve been had she not thought.
instead, she nods mournfully, like a pathetic pitied princess scolded toddler. she tries to regain her dignity by standing up straighter, which gil adorably tilts his head at.
the princess looks over her shoulder to still spot purple hair causing her to  frantically drag gil away from the inevitable scene she could’ve caused.  face paced heeled feet carry her far away from the anxiety inducing area and back to the comfort of her own dorm where she could wrap herself up in a blanket and just forget.
unfortunately, as she tries to make a break for it, gil notices and he tugs gentle as could be her back in the direction of uma’s dorm.  normally audrey would argue that the library would be better suited, if it was somebody else.  but harry hook is not well known for being quiet or getting along with other students.
and then she’s sitting on a lazily thrown teal comforter on top of uma’s bed, her book propped up against the foot board and her binder in her lap on top of uma’s feet.
the princess had finished her homework for the class the sea witch was currently groaning about a long time ago, it was simple and the questions were phrased in such a way you’d think that they were for kindergartners.
a pillow hits her shoulder and she is quickly startled out of her studies. “harry!” she cries, throwing it back at him.  it misses, making him burst out laughing as uma leans back off of the side of the bed, causing audrey to grab her ankle in attempt to keep her from falling. uma punches harry on his knee from where he sits next to the bed, and that’s when gil starts to laugh.
and it stays like that for awhile, audrey trying to study while the so called ‘sea three’ goof off.  it’s so sweet audrey almost doesn’t notice the prickling burning thoughts that start to bubble to the surface after gil says something offhandedly about taking over auradon that even uma doesn’t catch.
they laugh it off, although audrey’s laugh is a lot less convincing and her face is screwed up, she’s sure it looking absolutely disgraceful but they don’t notice so she lets it be.
and then she messes up because she lets the thoughts ravage her mind until that’s all she can hear.  so much so she almost doesn’t realize that uma, who had taken a notice at her silence and brown eyes boring into the paper, is calling her name and now sitting up.
at least, until she does see and then she’s met with fierce eyes and a fiercer face laced with concern which makes her feel angry and comforted at the same time.
and that’s where things start to worsen for audrey because she could blow off and fake everybody else in the world, but not uma, and not her pirates.  so really, it shouldn’t of surprised her when she tried to make up an excuse and got off the bed when uma pulled her back down.
“what is going on?” uma’s voice goes in one ear and out the other, truly, because she continues to try and leave.
“uma, please let me go. i’m serious i have to go.” she tugs backwards only to find a pale hand on her shoulder, and she looks up to meet blue eyes that tell her she’s not going anywhere until she answers them.
which is fine, because she scoffs and pushes harry’s hand off, squirming through uma’s tight grip on her hand. “i’m fine, please i have to go.”
her words don’t seem to affect uma at all because she’s still looking at her so sternly that audrey can feel herself shrinking back. “i’m sorry, but i’m fine.” she purses her lips to look up at uma. “ i don’t want you to pity me, i told you i’m not playing this game with you.”  she sneers, and it’s accidental, but uma’s gaze only narrows.
she remembers the first time they met, when harry had conveniently disappeared and left her alone prime time for pirates ganging up on her, she supposed.  she remembers uma telling her she wasn’t alone. and that was all she had said before taking her back to harry.
they were not friends, but they were not cruel to each other. they were kind, even.  it was a mutual respect kind of deal (but did mutual respect include calming audrey down when she’s about to burst or letting her play with her fingers under the desks in goodness 101?) it was nothing more, really.  audrey doesn’t owe her anything. (which is maybe why they get along so well.)
uma’s glare had turned cold as she let go of audrey’s arm, crossing her own over her chest. “i’m not going to pity you, princess.” uma’s tone matches her gaze and audrey feels as if her heart would shatter.  and it’s especially ridiculous that her heart feels so broken because she wants this, doesn’t she.  all she really wants is to be left alone, away from people who make guilt stir deep in her stomach because it hurts.
audrey’s is at a loss for words, her thoughts spinning her head around. “good,” she states, tilting her nose up only slightly (a habit) uma hates when she does that, because it makes her look entitled.  but why not hide what is already there. “can i go now? or are you going to interrogate me some more?” interrogation, like when the kidnapped ben for the wand, because they’re pirates. every pirate’s a villian in the end, her grandmother had taught her that at least, maybe this is something she’s right about.
she can tell she did something because there’s a trace of sadness on uma’s face before it’s gone, she can see uma disappointingly wave her hand at harry and suddenly audrey’s free to go. (it’s pathetic how much she wants to dive into uma’s lap and never leave, to hold on tight to something, anything would be so lovely.)
she pretends she does not think about staying and collects her things quietly, imagining like she can not feel the three other teens’ eyes burning through her.  her heart is stinging and she’s about to cry. (she can’t cry, she cannot cry in front of pirates, in front of villians.)  but, she would rather be bitter than cry in front of people so instead she gathers her pride and leaves. audrey imagines in her head that they’re running after her, that somebody still wants her even after she’s been a bitch.
it’s a ridiculous hope, she wouldn’t want to be friends with herself after all she’s done and continues to do.  she always finds herself alone and mean at the end of the day.  her nightmares are always the same, her lying dead in a room full of adults she once was adored by, her cursing an entire kingdom (and abusing her best friend) and nobody ever saves her, nobody wakes her up.
the princess has always had nightmares, she had always imagined it was her mother’s curse, and her own curse had only heightened the fear and realism of them.  once a week turned into every other night, which turned into never having a single dreamless night.
princess audrey rose never had any peace.
ʚĭɞ | hi there! i hope you enjoyed this lil bit of audrey angst.  i’m not sure if i’ll continue this, it was very fun to have a break of writing my oc fic. it felt nice to write something new.  i hope i gave audrey justice i really love her as a character and i recently did a ‘study’ on her outfits you can find here!  let me know what you think! - rory

A/N: Waaaaat???? A new chapter? And it’s only... 2 weeks late? *sigh* Who said that I should try posting a fic during the school year?
Ch 5 | Ch 7
~ ~ ~
Tumblr media
I found it unnerving to be alone again. It was strange to spend so long in Auradon worrying about my loss of privacy only to get back here and have no one to talk to.
I chose this, I reminded myself.
My eyes drifted over everything I had painted across the walls. It was weird, seeing all of my old work, now that I wasn’t nearly as passionate for art as I used to be. I would draw doodles occasionally, but I hadn’t opened up a can of spray paint since I decked out my locker so long ago, and that wasn’t even there anymore.
There were quite a few cans left around. In my boredom, my eyes drifted over to a large blank wall. I had always wanted to leave at least one part of my apartment empty, for special purposes. It was somewhat silly at the time, because I never was struck with a lot of inspiration, I just… worked. But right now, I knew exactly what to put there.
~ ~ ~
I dropped my arms to my sides, for a quick break.
I had simply used stencils to write out “ROTTEN TO THE CORE” along the bottom of the painting. It contrasted with the rough sketches of my friends above it.
I took a step back to admire them as it dried. From left to right, it went Evie, Carlos, and Jay.
Although everything about them was… as I had meant for it to be, they still felt empty. The whole picture itself seemed as though it were missing something.
To satisfy myself, I began to go over the collar of Jay’s shirt, fixing little details.
I was so deep in thought, I wasn’t paying attention to the footsteps approaching from behind me. Just another testament to how much I had forgotten while in Auradon.
“At least I don’t see a picture of me with horns and a pitchfork,” said a chilling voice behind me.
I whipped around, my spray can pointed at eye level with Ben. He seemed to wait for me to drop it in recognition, but that moment never came.
“How did you get here?” I asked, accusingly.
“Mal, I’m so sorry about our fight.” He tried to approach me, but I shook the bottle in his face, threateningly, and he paused once more. “It was all my fault. I-”
“Ben,” I hissed. “How did you get here?”
Things were obviously not going the way he had planned for them to go, but at this point I was too angry to care.
“Evie, Jay and Carlos brought me-”
I scoffed. “Of course they did.”
Why couldn’t they understand that that chapter of my life was over? That I left for them?
I turned and threw the spray can as hard as I could at the floor. Ben flinched in the corner of my eye, but I couldn’t care less in the moment.
“Mal?” he whispered, catching my attention once more. “Please come home.”
I felt my breath hitch. God, why was it so hard to look at him like this? Why couldn’t I just say goodbye and be done with it.
“Ben, I am home.” My words were cold, but unconvincing. I knew that I couldn’t reason with him. I couldn’t make him understand what a mess my head was. But perhaps, if he were afraid of me, he’d change his mind about taking me back to Auradon.
“I, uh… like you’re new hair.” It was the dumbest thing he could have mentioned in the moment, but I could tell he was stalling. He needed time to convince me. “I brought the limo. It’s a sweet ride.”
All my original ideas of scaring him away vanished, just by listening to the pleading in his voice.
“I don’t fit in, Ben,” I warned him. “I really gave it my best shot. And if you think I can change, I think you’re wrong.”
“Then I’ll change!” he quickly responded. “I’ll skip school, have more fun. You know, I-I’ll blow off some of my responsibilities.”
“No, no!” I said, frustrated. “Don’t you see? I’m such a terrible influence. It’s only a matter of time before I do something so messed up that not only does the kingdom turn on me, but they turn on you!”
“Don’t quit us, Mal!” he insisted.
He took a step forward and took my hands into his own. This was wrong. I was falling for it again. I was falling for all the good in the world and the kindness of a boy’s face. But I already tried that and it didn’t agree with me.
“The people love you.”
Flipping my palm up, he dropped his class ring into my hand. I sighed and looked up to argue once more, but he cut me off.
“I love you.”
I opened my mouth to say something. Anything. But my throat closed up.
He narrowed his eyes when he saw my hesitance. “Don’t you love me?”
“I…” My lungs felt as if they were being crushed by the pressure at the bottom of the ocean. “I can’t do this.”
This was no longer about me. It hadn’t been for a while. This was about Ben’s happiness. Evie’s and Jay’s and Carlos’s. Auradon’s. And the pain that I caused them when I was around was much worse than how much it would hurt to let me go.
I put the ring back into Ben’s hand and closed his fingers around it. Then, in a fit, I grabbed his arm and began to drag him out of my apartment and down the stairs.
“Mal, please!” he argued, but I didn’t stop. I didn’t look at him. I didn’t cry.
“Mal?” I heard Jay ask softly, but he stopped when he saw me pulling Ben behind me like a prisoner.
All three of them stood silently at the bottom of the stairs, watching this go down. Once I reached the last step, I reached down, grabbed a piece of the fence, and threw it up, just enough to push Ben back under and out of my space.
Ben fell directly into Evie, both of them stumbling in surprise. The door began to close between us, but Jay rushed forward and grabbed it with his hands, preventing me from shutting them out.
“Mal,” he grunted, pushing it back up, over his head. “What is wrong with you?”
“I’m doing this for you! For all of you!”
“The Isle? Really?”
I shook my head, disgust filling my face. “If you don’t like it, you can go home. Back to your big castles and pretty flowers.”
I took a step back, preparing myself for what I was about to do. It was risky, Jay was much stronger than me. But he wouldn’t see this coming, would he?
In a flash, I kicked him square in the chest.
He landed on his ass, the door shutting between us once more and this time, no one stopped it. It hit the ground with a clash and I attached the lock I had for it to the ground.
“But please just go away,” I begged.
I flipped around on my heel and stormed back up to my room, green clouding the edges of my eyes.
~ ~ ~
Ben watched Mal knock over Jay before turning away and walking down one of the nearby alleyways. He wasn’t planning to go far, he just wanted to get away from all of this.
He didn’t like this Mal. This violent, angry Mal who was determined not to listen to anyone but herself. This wasn’t the Mal that he knew.
He hissed through his teeth. He wanted things to just go back to the way they were, but he knew that wouldn’t happen. And if Mal was truly unhappy with her life, he didn’t want her to keep lying about it, but this couldn’t be better.
Ben paused, hearing footsteps approaching him from behind. He rubbed his face and turned to tell the others that they should all just go home, when he found himself face to face with Gil and another boy that he couldn’t identify.
Crap.
He took in as much air as he could, preparing to scream, but the other kid was covering his mouth in a second. “Uh, uh, uh,” he teased, in a thick accent. “We can’t have you ruining our fun, now can we?”
Gil held Ben’s hands behind his back while the other boy taped his mouth shut.
“Sorry, my king. It’s nothing personal, just, uh… you’re quite a valuable commodity. And I don’t know if your little villain friends told you, but we like to steal nice things here.” He turned to Gil. “Take him to Uma. I’ll talk to the traitors.”
“Will do, Harry.”
~ ~ ~
“Mal, it’s Evie.” Her voice reverberated inside the small device I used to use as a sort-of doorbell. I could hear people speaking outside my house through it which was helpful, considering we didn’t have phones on the Isle. “Something has happened.”
They just couldn’t take a hint, could they. I was frustrated, and suffocated, and they had been standing outside my door for the past few minutes.
I considered screaming back down at Evie to stop, but I got distracted by the sound of my window opening. I whipped around just in time to watch Jay slid in and shut the window once more.
“What the fuck?! How did you get up here?”
I stormed over to him, but the minute he was inside, he was on his way to the door and down the stairs.
“I climbed up,” he responded, nonchalantly.
“What are you doing?” I demanded, watching him run down to the ground level once more.
“I’m opening the door for Evie and Carlos. We need to talk!”
“I already said-”
“About Ben!” he interrupted. “He’s been kidnapped.”

Descendants 3 Liveblog Part 5
- Disney, stop advertising Zombies 2. It might be a great movie, but it’s killing my enjoyment of this one.
- Everyone is waking up, so I guess this does mean the spell is broken (and is Audrey dead?). I love how the kids go for cake and milk because they’re hungry. Relatable.
- Evie asks Carlos ‘Are you good’ and I’m crying now.
- Okay, not dead, but dying.
- Uma is going to protect the Isle while it’s closed and Celia is going ...to see her dad for a while?
- Hades was literally dragged off the Isle. And he’s not wrong about why Ben cares about Audrey.
- I mean, yeah, Hades, you definitely deserve to be in jail, regardless of whether Audrey does, but he’s not wrong about the decision of who goes to the Isle is arbitrary.
- Okay, definitely looks like the sceptre was influencing Audrey a lot because she wakes up hoping it was a bad dream, though she admits she did want to hurt people (and would count as coercion under the law, so Audrey would probably be found not guilty anyways).
- FINALLY A FUCKING APOLOGY I AM SO HAPPY.
- This is sweet, Leah, maybe apologize to AUDREY now.
- The ember is given to Mal which is great. <3
- I’m in love with this movie.
- Well Mal’s speech is certainly topical. I’m so glad Mal is crediting Uma and her crew for saving the day, and with Hades for saving Audrey.
- UH, MAL, GOOD LUCK CLAIMING QUEENSHIP OF THE ISLE.
- Am...am I the only one who remembers a LOT of very dangerous criminals are on the Isle? The barrier coming down is a good thing because the Isle is a fucking travesty that should never have happened, but quite a few of those residents absolutely deserve to be in jail. Sure, people can change, but ‘can’ doesn’t mean ‘has’ or ‘will’.
- Even Chad is giving a thumbs up here, so I’m happy.
- OKAY SCREW IT THE KIDS SMILE MAKES IT WORTH IT I RETRACT MY COMPLAINTS
- “my plan” I STAN ONE GODDESS OF THE SEA.
- THE CREW PARTYING AND HAPPY IS MY AESTHETIC.
- Also, Mal, the Isle is part of Auradon, you’re already their queen too, but I’m nitpicking now.
- So we’re gonna fix the crushing universal poverty and abysmal supply issues for the Isle, right? Come on, don’t make me beg.
- The Isle’s kids are free, and that’s all I wanted, so at the end of the day, I’m happy. Everything else is details.
- Harry, your cravat is stupid. You and Uma dancing more than makes up for it though.
- Nope, I’m still not forgetting Tremaine or Facilier being abusive tools, sorry.
- BEN CALLING HADES DAD I’M SCREAMING.
- HADES DOING THE DAD EYE THING I AM HOLLERING IN MY HOUSE
- Harry will flirt with anyone who’s pretty, but as per usual, his eyes spent most of the movie on Uma.
- The cast walking to the front  at the end reminds me so much of the cast bowing in a play.
- CRUELLA WAS DEFINITELY ABUSIVE WHAT’S THIS SHIT ABOUT JANE MEETING HER.
- I want a whole series about Gil and Jay’s gap year.
- I had my problems with this movie, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love it.
- No. Nonononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononoononononono the memorial for Cameron at the end is killing me. May his memory be a blessing.
- So, who do I have to bribe for pics of the crew when the barrier comes down and when they steal the bikes? Please don’t make me dig for them myself. I just hope there’s not too many new members, because I will cry.

A Royal Wedding (Bal)
Requested by @geekgrl123: Mal and Ben wedding; anything Carlos/Jane (I combined the two requests)
Not even five minutes after the barrier was lowered and all the villain kids came to Auradon, Evie was bouncing to Mal asking about the wedding.
“Now that all the VKs can get their happy ending, it’s time to start planning yours!” Evie squealed, dragging Mal and Uma to her castle to show them the plans she had created when Mal and Ben first got together.
Mal just rolled her eyes, but went along with it. It was useless to fight Evie when it was about a royal wedding, something she had been dreaming about since she was a little girl.
Life leading up to graduation (and subsequently the wedding) was hectic and passed by too quickly, Mal thought. From wedding dress fittings to studying for final exams, Mal didn’t have a spare moment. During her dress fittings, Uma was right there, holding up pictures of flower arrangements, centerpieces, color schemes, and more for Mal to approve for the wedding.
Mal and Uma had been getting along really well since the barrier was taken down, though they both knew it would take a while for them to ever get back to friendship they had when they were little, if they ever got back there at all.
“So do you want to have a circle arrangement or straight rows?” Uma asked, holding up two pictures of seating charts.
Mal looked over the two options, rolling her eyes in her mind, because really? This was important for a wedding?
“I guess- Ow!” Mal was cut off. “You just stuck me, Evie!”
“Sorry! I guess it’s not a good idea to try and pin-up a dress and sketch ideas for the bridesmaid dresses at the same time.”
“Yeah, I guess not,” Mal chuckled, turning her attention back to the photos Uma was still holding in front of her.
“Like I was going to say before I was so rudely stuck with a pin, the straight rows would be better. I don’t need people staring at me from all angles. Plus, I don’t want random people in the background of my pictures,” Mal said.
Uma nodded, throwing the circle seating chart in the trash and placing the other photo in a pile on the desk before grabbing another set of photos.
Mal groaned. This wedding was proving to be more trouble than it was worth. But, she did love Ben and she did want to get married, so maybe it would be worth it once it was finally over and she could get a break from Uma and Evie.
The next few days were luckily free from wedding planning while Evie made dress alterations and Uma was placing orders with the most recent batch of things Mal approved.
Mal was actually grateful because it gave her time to hand-deliver a special invitation; one that she had been holding off doing for some time, but she couldn’t wait any longer.
Knocking on the door of the little cottage just inside the edge of the woods, Mal rocked back and forth on her heels, gripping the little white invitation tightly in her hand.
“Well, well, well. Look who it is. Finally decide to come and visit me?”
“Hi, Dad,” Mal greeted, a smile taking over her features.
Hades gestured for her to come in, leading the way through his small home to the living room.
“What brings you to my neck of the woods? Royal life not treating you well already?” Hades laughed.
Mal shook her head, grinning. It was obvious where she got her sarcasm from.
“Actually,” Mal said, “I came to give you this.”
Mal handed over the paper, glad she didn’t end up tearing it with how tight her grip had been.
“I was wondering when I was going to get this,” Hades replied, taking the invitation. “I mean, you can’t forget dear old dad from your wedding, now can you?”
Mal smiled. Of course, she would never forget him. Ever since Hades had come to live on Auradon, Mal had made a point to actually spend time with him and make up for lost time. Hades wasn’t a bad guy and was turning out to be an amazing dad, even though he might have been 18 years late in doing so. Better late than never, Mal thought, unlike her mom.
“Actually, there is a reason why I haven’t brought it earlier,” Mal started.
“Do tell, dear daughter,” Hades said, placing the invitation down on the coffee table.
“Well, I was wondering if you would walk me down the aisle?” Mal asked, biting her lip. Even though it technically was his job, she didn’t know if he actually cared enough to take part in the wedding itself, if he even showed up. Up to this point in her life, her only parent had been a disappointment, so there was no telling was Hades would turn out like.
Hades’s mouth dropped open. No, he was not going to cry. He was a god, damn it, and gods do not cry, especially in front of their daughters. Even if she had just asked if he would be part of one of the most special days of her life.
“Of course!” Hades let out a watery laugh. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Mal let out a breath she didn’t know she had been holding. She ran around the table to give him a hug.
“Thank you!” Mal gushed.
Mal and Hades spent the rest of the day talking. To Mal, it seemed like Hades had been apart of her life forever. She hoped it would stay that way.

Jane and Carlos were walking hand-in-hand to their next class when Carlos stopped.
“So this will probably sound silly, but will you go with me to Mal and Ben’s wedding? I mean, I know we are dating, but I wanted to ask to make sure. I didn’t want to assume anything-”
Jane cut off Carlos’s rambling by kissing him on the cheek.
“Of course, silly.” She smiled, squeezing his hand. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“Awesome!” Carlos smiled. “Alright, now let’s get to class before your mother finds us and gives us detention.”
Jane’s eyes grew wide and started dragging Carlos behind her, walking as quickly as possible to their chemistry class.

Graduation day came and went, all the VKs passing their finals, including Harry, Uma, and Gil, though Harry almost didn’t pass his math final.
Mal and Ben’s wedding day was quickly approaching and Mal was looking forward to it being over so she could finally get a moment's rest. The only good thing about being super busy with wedding planning and other royal duties was that she had no time to be nervous or think about the fact that she was actually getting married and she was going to become queen of Auradon (which she still couldn’t believe).
“This is your last dressing fitting, Mal!” Evie squealed. “Can you believe it’s already almost here? Only a few more days!”
Mal nodded and smiled at how excited her friend was for her.
A knock on the door interrupted Evie muttering to herself about some sort of pearl stitching.
“Mal? Are you in there?”
Evie squeaked.
“Don’t come in, Ben!” Evie yelled, moving quickly to finish putting her last pin in the dress so Mal could get out before Ben came in. He couldn’t see her in her dress! “Just give us one minute!”
The girls heard a faint affirmation while they quickly scrambled to get the dress off Mal and her normal clothes back on. Evie hung the dress back up, pushing the rack into the closet before allowing the king in the room.
“Okay, the coast is clear! You can come in now!” Evie called.
The door slowly opened, Ben sticking his head into the room, eyes shut.
“All clear? Everyone decent?”
Mal giggled at the king. He was so cute and innocent.
“Yeah, Ben,” Mal replied. “What’s up?”
Mal walked over to the door, taking Ben’s hand in hers, leaning up to kiss him on the cheek.
“What? I can’t just come and visit my future wife and queen because I want to?” Ben asked before returning the kiss.
“Of course you can,” Mal snorted. “But, I know you. And I know your schedule, so I know you’re skipping out on something to be here, so what’s up?”
Ben laughed and sighed.
“I’m here to take you on our final date as an unmarried couple!” Ben said.
Mal’s heart soared. She and Ben hadn’t had much time to spend together with studying for finals, planning for the wedding, Ben’s royal council duties, and Mal helping the Isle kids get acclimated to Auradon life.
“Come on!” Ben pulled on Mal’s hand. Mal turned and waved to her best friend, her entire face lit with a smile. Mal didn’t care what they were doing. They could sit on the couch and watch TV for all Mal cared, as long as they were doing it together.
____________________________
‘Mal! Wake up! It’s wedding day!” Evie yelled, opening up Mal’s door, pulling her dress rack behind her. “Time to get ready!”
Mal groaned. She just wanted another hour of sleep. Was that too much to ask?
“Come on, sleepyhead! We have to get you ready!” Evie said, stripping Mal’s bed of her blankets to get her up.
Mal groaned even louder this time. Couldn’t they just skip the wedding and go straight to the married life part? That would make life so much easier for Mal.
Evie ignored Mal’s protests and pulled Mal out of bed and over to her vanity to start working on her hair and makeup. She had a lot of work to do to get Mal wedding-ready.
An hour later, Uma came by, hair and makeup already done, carrying her dress in her arms. Of course Evie and Uma were her two bridesmaids. With everything they had gone through to get here, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Uma and Evie continued getting Mal ready while Mal tried to help, but kept getting her hands slapped away when she tried to do a bit of makeup or move a piece of her hair.
Another hour passed and Mal was finally wedding-approved by Evie. Now they just had to get themselves and their dresses over to the royal hall where Ben was coronated as king to finish getting ready.
They arrived and got dressed with half an hour to spare before the wedding actually started.
“Knock knock! Can I come in?” Hades called from outside the door.
Uma went to go let him in, careful to shut the door quickly behind him so no one could see Mal in her dress.
“Wow,” Hades paused. “You look…”
Mal did a little twirl in her dress.
“Thanks, Dad.”
Hades grabbed Mal’s hand and pulled her over to the loveseat in the room. Evie and Uma quietly slipped out of the room, wanting to give the two some privacy to have a father-daughter talk.
“I can’t believe my little girl is all grown up,” Hades gushed.
Mal was shocked. She didn’t know Hades could show this much emotion, but she wasn’t complaining. It was a nice difference to the constant anger and disappointment her mother always showed.
“Are you sure you want to do this? I mean, you’re still young. You have your whole life ahead of you!” Hades questioned.
“Of course I’m sure,” Mal nodded. “I know I have my whole life ahead of me, but I want my whole life to be with someone I love at my side. Someone I can always lean on and someone who will always love me back.”
Mal had grown a lot since she left the Isle. She would have never thought she would marry an Auradon kid, let alone the king. She never would have thought herself capable of love, and she never would have thought she would have loving friends and actual family by her side to help her through it all.
Hades nodded, taking Mal’s hands in his.
“Well, I’m glad you found someone you actually love and who loves you back. I couldn’t be more proud of you right now, and I can’t wait to see you continue to grow,” Hades said, trying to hold back tears. He knew he was going to cry at some point today, but he didn’t want it to be this early in the day.
“So, what do you say we get this show on the road?” Hades asked, quickly standing up.
Mal followed suit and hooked her arm in his.
“Lead the way, Dad.”
____________________________
The wedding passed by in a blur for Mal. She knew Ben looked great, as always, in his suit and tie that of course Evie had created. Evie and Uma looked beautiful in their dresses, and if Mal didn’t know any better, she would have thought she saw a few tears in Uma’s eyes.
Hades walked her down the aisle, and at least she knew she didn’t trip, which she was eternally grateful for. She even saw Hades glare at Ben before he went to sit down, which she thought was pretty funny, though she figured Ben didn’t.
Mal barely remembered her and Ben saying their vows, but she knew she cried a little.
After the ceremony, Mal and Ben made their way to the reception, where everyone started cheering. Mal would probably never get used to all this attention.
“This was such a beautiful wedding!” Jane gushed, looking over at the happy couple taking their seat at the table at the front of the room.
“Yeah, I guess. Too many people for my liking, though,” Carlos said.
Jane nodded, thinking for a moment.
“When we get married, we can have a small, private ceremony with only our closest friends,” Jane replied.
Carlos opened his mouth to respond, but stopped once his brain processed what Jane had said.
“What?”
Jane’s eyes widened, just realizing what she had said. Too late to go back now, she thought.
“I said, when we get married, we won’t invite so many people,” Jane replied. “I can’t believe what I’m about to say, but Carlos, would you like to get married? I mean, I don’t want to move too fast, and if I’m totally off base here, just let me know. And it’s not like I haven’t thought about this, I definitely have, but I-”
Carlos cut off Jane’s rambling by grabbing her hand and kissing her on the cheek.
“Of course I would love to marry you. But maybe we should wait to break the news to everyone when we’re not at the royal wedding. Evie would have a fit if we stole the spotlight away from Mal and Ben,” Carlos said, smiling ear-to-ear, glancing toward Evie sitting next to her best friend.
Jane couldn’t believe her luck. If someone told her she would end up not only dating, but getting married to a Villain Kid, she would have passed out on the spot, but here she was, madly in love with a VK and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
And because they were in Auradon, both the VKs and AKs got their happily ever after after all.
Please let me know what you think!! And if you have a request, send it in! My ao3 is linked on my masterlist!

THOUGHTS ON D3
(some of these may be points about stuff we already knew going into it but like now that weve gotten to see it all together its easier to discuss)
- i like what they did with audrey’s plot. her and mal’s relationship did feel pretty unresolved after d1 so im glad they went this route. not to mention being able to bring her back after her being absent in the second. also i like the message that it gave off about being able to be good or bad regardless of where you come from
- i loved hades! he was so fun and i loved how things ended up with him. and DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO WAS AWESOME probably my fav song. but i cant say im a huge fan of him being mal’s dad. like i loved the way their relationship played out but while the descendants fan in me is happy the disney stickler thinks its a bit too much creative license for them to make a kid the child of two disney characters from two different movies. it also kinda like...almost invalidates her character of “maleficent’s daughter” now shes the daughter of two villains and it?? feels different?? if that makes sense?? could the other VKs possibly have another villain as their other parent?? who knows. also i wish they hadn’t made it so obvious so early like people guessed this A YEAR AND A HALF AGO WHEN THE TEASER CAME OUT. maybe had it just been a few months it wouldnt have been as bad but yeesh. it made the shock factor...well, almost non-existant.
- continuing on their relationship, i thought tackling the idea of an absentee dad was a bold move for a movie like this and i applaud it. not to mention with an upbeat musical number? they really did that
- i loved celia too!! i was afraid she was gonna be more bad news than she was but she was super cute and sweet. loved her friendship with dizzy. and loved getting to see more of dizzy! and even though dr facilier wasnt in it much he was fun. i thought it was sweet that he and celia seemed to have a good relationship. im also glad we got to see lady tremaine! but wheres drizella lol
- also in regards to hades and celia, i liked that they brought in two more movies into the universe that hadnt yet been acknowledged (not counting wicked world or the books). i love both hercules and princess and the frog and while i wouldnt call them underrated theyre not quite as mainstream as some of the other movies in the descendants universe so im happy with that.
- on the other hand, i dont really like it when they get more kids from movies that they already have kids from. in this case, squeaky and squirmy. gil seemed out of place to me when i first watched d2, especially cuz like why would gastons son be a pirate, but since he had some funny lines with ben (in this movie too!) it was worth it. but squeaky and squirmy had no lines with harry? THEY ALMOST DIDNT HAVE ANY LINES AT ALL??? so why couldnt they have had them be kids from a movie they hadnt used yet? the more the merrier imo. idk.
- mal and uma repairing their relationship was like the highlight for me ugh it was so good. i think we all had a feeling that would happen (not just from speculation but from set pics and whatnot) but it felt satisfying regardless. uma saying “im right here mal you got this”? love that
- WE LOVE MORE DRAGON MAL. EVEN MORE THAN IN D2. WE LOVE THAT A LOT.
- WE ALSO LOVE MORE DUDE. OK SO MAYBE THATS JUST ME BUT SCREW IT I LOVE TALKING DOGS SO IM GLAD HE STILL TALKED. DOVE CAMERON AND A TALKING DOG IN THE SAME MOVIE IS BASICALLY PANDERING TO ME OK
- WE ALSO LOVE MALVIE CONTENT!!! love that evie was the only one who knew hades was her dad AND LOVE THAT THEY SAID I LOVE YOU TO EACH OTHER LIKE DAMN. AND DURING MY ONCE UPON A TIME WHEN MAL LIKE CARESSES HER FACE??? LIKE HER INTERACTION WITH HER WAS MORE INTENSE THAN WITH ANYONE ELSE EVEN BEN??? GOOD SHIT
- OK I KNEW ABOUT THE DID I MENTION REPRISE AS OF A FEW DAYS AGO BUT IM A SLUT FOR PARALLELS SO THAT STILL KILLED ME
- any parallels killed me. especially, ofc, ending with “cuz were rotten...to the core” (tho i was hoping the rotten remix thats on the soundtrack would be in the movie)
- loved getting more harry and gil content. gil is so blissfully stupid and precious and i love him and harry is so chaotic and i love him too
- and just...love the sea three bonding with the core four. also it felt well paced. wasnt rushed, had its moments to slowly get us there (mal+uma, jay+gil+harry) it felt like it went just the way it was supposed to.
- the whole series of events felt well paced and well ordered
- tbh i think its hilarious how chad’s douche baggery never dies down. i mean points for consistency i guess
- (did anyone catch the sign on the isle that mentioned monstro? good easter egg)
- (im really going out of order ik)
- one kiss was fun and cute, but i never felt like doug and evie were like...behind in their relationship? if anything i thought as of d2 their relationship was more stable than that of mal and ben
- night falls was a little silly and felt a little too similar to its goin down to me but it served a purpose and it was still fun
- and ofc it was so bittersweet to watch cam. the dedications were heart-wrenching but beautiful.
overall it really could not have been better! great new characters, great development on the characters we love, great soundtrack, and, most importantly, a story that perfectly wraps up the franchise. its hard to get a trilogy right. i love a lot of trilogies but a lot of them have some major flaws. with like say the kung fu panda movies, the 2nd and 3rd feel like theyre about very different things than the first. it doesnt feel like its telling one cohesive story. some have a second that feels unimportant to be between the 1st and 3rd. this just felt like perfectly coming full circle. everything from the beginning of the first movie to the end of the third felt necessary to tell the story. no useless filler, all essential to the plot, adding more as we go and resolving more, but having a hell of a lot of fun the entire time. i remember d2 being one of the most, if not the most, satisfying sequels ive ever seen. maybe part of that has to do with descendants being such a main fandom of mine when it came out, but sometimes, even new additions to my main fandoms can disappoint. these sequels really haven’t. part of that may just have to do with my love for the franchise regardless of the direction it goes in, but i know that it also has to do with just a great job in storytelling. continuing the story and wrapping it up just right. when the first one came out, we didn’t know it would be a trilogy. it works great as a standalone movie, but when you see the third one, you would think it was intended this way from the beginning, which honestly gives it even more power.
it breaks my heart to let this franchise go, but ofc in mal’s words “this is not the end.” with it just coming out, that means its just the beginning of discussions, gifs, memes, fanart, and all that fun stuff. so lets jump right in!
and, as always, every bit of love in my heart goes to cam tonight. we still miss you endlessly and we always will.

OKAY SO
I did not love all of the songs, I think d2 was the best music wise but I still loved most of them
Cameron (🥺🥺) and Booboo did such an AMAZING JOB with all the choreography the whole time. Sofia’s solo was also amazing.
@Disney just fucking let Kenny put a gay couple in one of his movies he makes you BILLIONS OF DOLLARS every time he sneezes why can’t u let him have like one background kiss, there’s NO REASON Gil and Jay couldn’t have like. Held hands at the end instead of chest bumping
But also Kenny Ortega in his final Disney film, throwing his script down where he has Harry Hook not even a little subtly flirt with men and women before going off to Netflix: what are you gonna do, fire me?
Audrey makes a good villain in theory (that is, for the story they were trying to tell) but a bad villain in practice and idk if that was because they built her up badly or Sarah couldn’t pull it off (No Offense to her but she’s so sweet and like not intimidating and all) but that was a bit of a letdown. Her dark pink hair tho, was SUPER COOL I loved it
The movie should have been longer!!! D2 was like 2 hours long and this was what 90 minutes? We got a lot more sea three and Dizzy/Celia/twins than I was expecting which was LOVELY but not nearly as much core four + Ben (or even like. Ben in general) as I needed. It could have been longer!!!!
The scene with Mal in her dress (her colors but the style of auradon) dancing and surrounded by the Isle kids with the dragon, smiling and genuinely happy and AT PEACE absolutely would have healed my heart if it wasn’t already healed by her sweet little dragon smile when Uma came back to help her
CELIA AND DIZZY!!!! That’s it that’s the whole point. Their design, their personalities, their relationship with their parents, their relationship with each other, their journeys, like genuinely honestly perfect!!!!!!!
Ben @ king Adam: get wrekt u fuck azz. Me, a proud mother:

ANYWAYS I REALLY LOVED IT!!!!!! CHEESY AND CORNY AND UPLIFTING AND AN EXPLOSION OF TACKY AND BRIGHT COLORS AND I LOVED IT SO MUCH

August Picks
Tumblr media
And so we’re back for another end of month wrap up! Looking back I feel like I didn’t watch too many new things; I finished a few shows that I talked about last month (the 100, Blood & Treasure to name a few). I guess it’s good I watched less-maybe I went outside more?
Spoilers....
Tumblr media
DERRY GIRLS SEASON 2
You all already know how much I love this show, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I’m starting with it I was SO EXCITED to hear that season 2 was coming to Netflix August 1st and I tried my best to drag out watching the episodes. But it’s really really hard when there’s only 6 of them (a half hour each) and they’re just SOO GOOD! So I finished in about a week, but I guess that’s better than a day. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think I enjoyed season 2 more than season 1. I laughed so hard (and got a little teared up in the last episode-especially afterwards when it was over and I discovered that next season won’t start filming until 2020!) I LOVED the stories this season and how the adults got more of a major plot-line in each episode. At times I laughed harder at them (at the movie theater, Gerry making the sandwiches at the funeral). More people seriously need to check out this show. It’s hilarious and a quick watch that you won’t want to end.
Tumblr media
KRYPTON SEASON (SERIES) FINALE
Syfy’s Krypton ended a few weeks ago, but I was holding off watching it until last week. I know I had said this in my last review, but this season was tough for me to get into, but once I did then I was really enjoying it. However, once we got to the last couple of episodes I was losing interest again. Plus, hearing that the show was cancelled made it harder to finish. SPOILERS! So, we knew they had to defeat Zod and it made sense that he is now under the Black Mercy (like Lyta was), but obviously this is only a temporary fix. He’ll definitely find his way out; he’s smart. Then Brainiac and Doomsday are still an issue, so while things are safe for now things didn’t exactly get settled. Now I get they thought they’d get a third season so things would have to be resolved later, but this still feels like a lot. Of course I’m upset that we won’t see Jor-El getting rescued AND the next season build up with Brainiac taking him to Earth to create his very own “Superman” seems really interesting. But we won’t see it. Meanwhile Nyssa is off world and Lobo is back (he was funny so I was happy to see him again). Like I said, I’m not surprised the show got cancelled, but I think a third season would have been good. What do you think?
CATCHING UP
Tumblr media
ARROW
It might have been MONTHS in the making, but I FINALLY caught up and finished Arrow season 7. I was only 3 episodes behind, but it took me a very long time to complete. My main comments on this season was that the beginning was good and the rest was eh. I liked Oliver in the prison and while I was done with Diaz very early on I was happy to see that story-line resolved. Now, while I did take a very long time to watch this season in entirety (and that might be the main reason I feel this way), Oliver being in the prison feels like A LONG time ago (and a completely different season). When I look back on this season I really just think of him and Emiko who I was not a fan of. We lose Thea and welcome another half-sister who we learn knew about the sinking of the Queen’s Gambit before anyone else. The constant back and forth of trying to save Emiko got very repetitive and while I know Oliver as the hero could not give up on her fully, I wanted him to. I was also not a huge fan of the flash forward this year. At times I did like it, but I think the show did fine that one season when there was no added plot-line. The ending to this season was a disappointment. I was very curious how things with Felicity would end seeing as how she is not going to return for the final season. But overall it felt very much like a SERIES finale, which makes me worried for the last season. Will it just feel like a filler? How many people will return? Will we even be in Star City? Taking Oliver away like that sucked and I really hope he gets reunited with his children.

THE FLASH
As a big fan of all the CW Arrow-verse shows this past season I had a hard time getting into most of them and got VERY behind on episodes before just giving up on watching altogether. While Arrow was one that I was just a couple episodes behind for most of the year and Legends of Tomorrow I binged all at once the Flash and Supergirl dropped off my watch-list. This was sad for me because I had enjoyed these shows a lot, so now at the end of summer we’re giving it a second go! This month I began the 5th season of the Flash and am currently on episode 5? I only remembered the first 2 episodes, which shows you how long ago I stopped watching. I remember not being a huge fan of Nora West-Allen and this is mainly because they are making the actress seem a lot younger than she is. The mistakes she makes and her overall attitude feels better suited for a pre-teen/young adult rather than someone in their twenties. I’m still holding out hope that this changes as the episodes progress. I really love this idea of having Barry and Iris’ daughter in the past (because it feels very much like something Barry would do) and how they are still addressing the headline of the Flash’s disappearance. I feel like maybe as we uncover more about Nora’s past I will enjoy her character more. This season I like the return to the CCPD and Iris’ blog. Sometimes the alter-ego jobs get pushed aside and I am happy to see the return of Barry and Iris in the field as themselves. With this addition to her character plus the fact that Nora is being completely rude to her, I feel this is the most I’ve like Iris in a very long time. I love how she stands by her decision of keeping Nora’s powers a secret even though she hasn’t done so yet, and the fact that Barry is with her. I’m glad they’re finally taking her character to places outside of STAR Labs. I think Caitlin’s story-line of finding her father is really interesting as well as the origins of Killer Frost. This reincarnation of Wells will take some getting used to, but I already like his dynamic with Ralph (baby giraffe) and of course Cisco. (They are always the best.) I’ll continue watching and see if my feelings change, but I do feel that I’m getting invested again, which makes me happy.
MOVIES
Tumblr media
Descendants 3
Should I be embarrassed that I am putting Descendants 3 on this list and I am a lot older than the intended audience? Nope. While this DCOM came out at the beginning of the month, it has replayed on Disney Channel dozens of times already so I feel I have watched it fully or in clips many times. Out of the entire series this movie is one of my favorites. I like the songs and the overall plot. The idea of having one of the hero’s kids become a villain was genius and really said something about people’s innermost character. My main problem with this part of the movie was that I wanted more repercussions for Audrey. In the end she almost dies and they bring her back and everything is good because she apologies. But her intentions seemed real at the start of the movie. Could they vanish that quickly? (Now I know what you’re thinking...this is a kid movie. Of course she needs to learn what she did was wrong. But I think it would be even more interesting if she didn’t or struggled with it. Either way she should have had some sort of punishment. I don’t think they should have welcomed her back so fast.) I really liked meeting new characters from the Isle of the Lost, the new addition of VKs in Auradon and Hades. I wish all the new VKs would have gotten more screen time as well as Hades. From the promos leading up to the film he seemed really important and the actual BIG BAD of the movie. I would have liked to see a little more of that. But I did really like learning he is Mal’s dad. I loved seeing Uma, Harry and Gil working with the Auradon group. Again, this drove the message home about working together now matter what your background. There’s probably a lot more I could talk about but these are really the main moments that stuck out to me/my main concerns. I know I’ll be singing the songs for a very long time.

Miss Austen Regrets
As a Jane Austen buff, it is probably very surprising to hear that I had not watched Miss Austen Regrets (2008) until last week. I knew about it, but am always cautious when it comes to a film adaptation of the author’s life; especially after Becoming Jane (which yes is a great movie, but not 100% accurate). It took learning that Tom Hiddleston was in the film to make me watch it. (I know, but just look at him. He’s got such a baby face.) :)
Tumblr media
But a young and always good looking Tom Hiddleston should not be the only reason to watch this film (although it is a great reason). The movie focuses on Jane’s later years as she completes Emma. She visits her niece Fanny who is deciding who she loves and how to know what love is. In her early twenties, Fanny seeks advice from her aunt as to how to spend the rest of her life. Should she settle? Or wait for the man of her dreams? But what if he’s right in front of her? Her aunt, the author of romances, should have the answer, but in fact she believes she doesn’t. You get a little insight into some of Jane’s past loves and lots of echoes to Persuasion (one of the novels published after Austen’s death). I had just finished reading Persuasion for the second time and watching this film so closely behind it mirrored that tale of maturity, friendship and romance very well. Taken from the remaining letters between Austen and Fanny the movie feels authentic. Of course nothing can be 100% but I think Miss Austen Regrets does a very good job.
BINGEING
Tumblr media
THE WALKING DEAD
And so the summer binge continues on. Gotta say that I feel pretty obsessed with this show now. You know you are watching a lot when you start to have dreams where you are fighting walkers. (And yes, that recently happened to me.) Currently I’m in season 5. Just finished season 4 this week, which I think might be my favorite so far. I really enjoyed their time in the prison and while I thought the episodes with the illness dragged at times, once the Governor returned it really picked up again. (Although I didn’t love the stand-alone episodes focused on him.) Then watching the group be separated and anticipating the reunions between them all was great. Terminius definitely seemed too good to be true and I am happy that (right now at least) it seems to be resolved. Now we are heading to Washington. I like seeing the new characters that I know will be a part of the regulars. It does make me nervous about some of the originals. Losing Hershel was tough. I’m not ready to lose too many more.

Wings are made to Fly - Chapter 2
Pairing: Not fully sure yet, just gonna see how it goes (Maybe Evie? Don’t know yet)
Setting: Auradon
Warning: Swearing, Graphic stuff, sad Harry, hurting Harry, blood
Summary: Everyone knows what type of person they are, Fairy, Goblin, Dragon or just a simple person and Harry thinks he’s just a simple guy but the more he comes into contact with Auradon and magic, the more the people around him notice something off and maybe Auradon is the only place with answers
Words: 2742
Requested: Nope, me and my Fiance were roleplaying this and I thought it would be awesome to make it into a Fanfic
Side note: Okay so I know it’s been almost a month and I should have probably uploaded this sooner but I was waiting for Chapter 3 to be complete which because of University and my hand in yesterday, I have not finished so I thought I’d upload this one now and get Chapter 3 done soon and hopefully more faster since I only have one other deadline :D

First // Prev // Next
Auradon was in uproar; everyone was celebrating the new arrivals, they wanted to make sure these new Villains felt happy and safe, something they had never been given in life before now. Everyone was there, the school band, the teachers, the VKs, absolutely everyone and most of them stood there excitedly awaiting for the car to pull up.
Ben, Fairy God Mother and Mal waited patiently at the end of the school entrance, ignoring the commotion behind them as Fairy God Mother continued to stew in her worries, she knew something was going to happen, she knew something was wrong but she couldn’t argue with her King,
“I still don’t think inviting them three here is a good idea, they tried to kill you” she whispered to Ben as she watched the road in front of them, out of the corner of her eye she could see Ben’s slightly agitated expression, causing her to continue her little speech, “I understand that you see potential in them and I know I gave the other a hard time but … you need to see how this looks from my perspective Ben” she tried to reason, seeing the same expression of Bens face just made her sigh in defeat, there was no arguing, “… This doesn’t change how I feel about this” she finished before quickly standing tall, plastering her big welcome smile on as the car entered the school,
“Please, Fairy God Mother, try to talk to them before you pass judgement, they aren’t bad people” Ben quickly argued back, knowing she had already decided her feelings towards them. The young King brushed down his suit jacket and taking Mal’s hand in his, ready to take a dive but that was quickly forgotten when he realized just how fast the car was coming, “Fairy God Mother … somethings wrong….” He said, confusion and worry very evident in his voice as the black limo pulled to a halt suddenly, the two guards in front almost tumbling out of the car as they pushed the doors open with force, heading quickly to the back, dragging the doors open quickly, speaking too fast to even be considered English anymore, “W-what is ha-“ Ben didn’t get a chance to finished as he stood frozen, the world almost stopping as everyone saw the exact reason why that car had been racing through the streets.
Out of the car stepped Max, one of the most loved guard in all of Auradon but he wasn’t the sweet Max anymore, his uniform dishevelled, his coat abandoned and something that had caught Bens immediate attention, bright red handprints across his shirt and if that hadn’t instantly given red flags, what everyone saw next would haunt their dreams for as long as they live.
Harry Hooks motionless, bleeding body laid nestled in his arms, the most fearsome pirate of all the kingdoms, was now dying in the arms of a royal guard.
Mal felt her stomach flip as she covered her mouth in utter shock, stepping backwards and right into the shaking arms of Evie. A lot of the students had turned away but there was only one person who couldn’t move from his spot, the King stared at the boy who had managed to strike fear into his heart, now terrified that he might be dead,
“Get the paramedics here now!” Max shouted as he ran straight past Ben and into the building, running past all the chattering students and the confused teachers, eventually making his way to the nurses office, somewhere to keep Harry safe. Max had only been with the boy for a short amount of time but he couldn’t let this boy die, “Harry, be strong, your sister needs you, your friends need you, you can’t leave them like this” he whispered, hoping Harry could hear him. The young pirate hadn’t taken a breath since they left the Isle, any longer and he’d be too late. Max took a deep breath in, calming himself before setting to work, he was going to save this boy no matter what; unlike him however, outside was complete chaos.
Students were gossiping, chatting, making rumours already but in front of them all, a group of frozen students with their gazes still stuck in front of them, nothing could be said, someone was dying and they couldn’t do anything. What felt like hours to them had only been a couple of minutes before Uma broke down, dropping to her knees as she sobbed silently into her hands, her mind racing while each and every thought traced back to one thing, this was her fault, she had agreed to this, she had encouraged him, it was all her fault and now her best friend was dying because of her.
One by one, each Villain, Ben and even the Fairy God Mother herself had dropped to their knees, pulling the Sea Witch as close as remotely possible. None of them dared move, even when the ambulance arrived, even when Harry was taken into the vehicle, even when they rushed around like headless chickens, they couldn’t do it, Harry had to have been dying, there was no other conclusion to this story, he was going to die and there was nothing they could do about…
“He’s been taken back into his room if you want to go see him” a voice from behind them broke the silence, it was Max, smiling softly as he wiped the blood from his hands and arms, “We got him breathing, stopped him from bleeding out and they gave him a few sedatives and pain killers to stop the pain, once he’s awake, they’re going to look into all of this and see what is going on, they might be able to get to the bottom of this” he reassured, the look on everyone’s faces as he finished speaking warmed his heart, Uma looked completely relieved but no way in hell was she letting him or Gil for that matter leave her sights.
The teal haired Captain stood, breaking the group hug to follow Max inside of the school, dragging the innocent but scared son of Gaston behind her. It didn’t take long to get to his room; it was eerily quiet, everything was still, the only noise was a beeping of a small monitor beside Harry.
Uma examined the room around them, it was different, she had never seen something like this before, actual beds, real curtains, it was … cozy. It wasn’t until Gil slowly made his way over to the sleeping form of Harry that she finally regained her senses and shuffled over to his side.
Harry laid peaceful, his clothing had been replaced by thin, silk pyjamas, the duvet pulled up to his chin and wrapped comfortably around him. Everything seemed to look normal, except for one thing, his hand, the hand that rested next to him on the pillow was now covered in different equipment, a needle taped to the back, something clear pumping into him from a large bag high above him while some sort of strange finger trap covered his index finger, hooking him up to the soft beeping machine,
“What is all this?” Gil asked, cowering behind his Captain, he had never seen anything like it. He gazed over to Max, a man he had not spoken to yet, to him, this was just some goody two shoes guard to him but he was someone that could tell him what was happening to his ship mate and best friend,
“He’s fine, don’t worry about all this stuff, it’s just to help him sleep without pain” Max explained as he quickly checked the machine, “This show his heart, you might find comfort being able to see it but I need you both to know that if you both stay here tonight, don’t touch any of this, it could harm him but as long as you are careful, he should be back to his normal self tomorrow, okay?” he asked, heading quietly towards the door before Uma interrupted any movements he made,
“W-What happened to him? In the car why was he … bleeding so much?” she asked, it was terrifying to witness but she needed to know, something was wrong with her friend and Max was the only one who could keep them calm, however, something in his expression showed that she might not want to know,
“I … Maybe it’s best you forgot and let the doctors figure it out … it’s not pretty” he tried to argue, not wanting her to worry even further but when the Captain crossed her arms and stepped closer, not backing down, he sighed, caving in, he knew he wasn’t getting out of this, “Fine but listen to me when I say, it wasn’t pretty … I don’t know the full story, I don’t know what happened but all I know is that something inside of him was forcing its way out, it had managed to slice his back open but from what the paramedics said … there was nothing, nothing was there, whatever this is, we need it to stay quiet, he needs rest” he pleaded, he didn’t want any of this to get out of hand or get to the news, he knew nothing good would come out of it but he trusted them, “well, I guess I’ll leave you all to rest, I’ve left my phone number on the desk over there, if anything happens, call me ...” he added until he watched as the two kids stared in confusion, he should have guessed they wouldn’t have a clue what he was talking about. The guard sighed as he picked up the cell phone from the bedside table and handed it to Uma, “From this, play around with it, you’ll figure it out, you’re smart” he said before finally leaving them, closing the door behind him.
The two pirates stared at the small device in Uma’s hand for a moment before deciding it wasn’t important anymore. The teenagers pulled their coats and shoes off before carefully climbing into bed beside the sleeping form of their friend, snuggling under the duvet to rest. It was once again silent, uncomfortably silent, both of them too scared to speak from the fear of waking up Harry but it was over when Gil finally spoke up,
“Will he get better?” he whispered, staring at the ceiling, his eyes fixed on a single spot in the paint, “I’ve never seen Harry like this before, he’s always been strong, will he be strong again?” he asked, turning his head towards Uma, his eyes shining with newly formed tears.
The Captain frowned, rolling over slowly to completely face him, taking his larger hand in hers. Everything that had happened had been pushed onto him so suddenly, he was sweet, innocent, she couldn’t even begin to understand how he felt in all this,
“Gil, listen to me, he will be okay, I mean, it’s Harry!” she reassured, pulling her friend closer and wrapping his arms around her body, “Get some rest, tomorrow, we’ll stay by his side and you can see just how strong Harry is, I promise, he’ll be fine” she smiled softly even though on the inside she was really breaking down just as much as he was.
It took a very long time but both Uma and Gil had finally fallen asleep in each other’s arms, neither one moving throughout the night, too scared to let go, even in their restless sleep.
---
Hours went by, the sun had completely gone down and the soft light of the moon flooded through the room. The night went on without a stir, only one thing that caused the night to change, Harry Hook was awake.
The bed stirred as the hooked pirate sat up slowly, his eyes flicked around the room frantically as he tried to wake himself completely, his mind racing as everything around him became apparent, he was somewhere new, he wasn’t on the Isle anymore and it was scaring him.
Harry gasped as he felt a tug in his hand, a stinging pain coursing up his arm as he tried to move. Looking down to quickly find the source, he could see the strange thing on his finger, pressing tightly against the end of his index. Following the lead, he spotted the weird beeping thing next to him, something he didn’t understand so he did the only thing he thought to do, pull it off. The beeping stopped but now played a long continuous noise, making Harry jump and drop the cord, once again the back of his hand twinge suddenly.
Looking down again, Harry found the real reason for the pain, the needle. It didn’t take him long to decide his next move. Taking a deep breath, the pirate grabbed the tube, gripping it tightly before quickly yanking it from his skin, making him hiss through his teeth at the sudden pain.
Tossing the needle to the side, the still drugged up boy stumbled from the bed, almost knocking over everything around him as he tried to figure out what to do, everything new and terrifying. Finally, he stopped against the desk, resting himself against it as the room started spinning slowly around him. It took him a moment but he was finally able to make out some basic things around the room, the furniture was a big give away that he was in Auradon but seeing that Uma and Gil were asleep in his bed give him relief that he wasn’t alone.
Harry took a deep breath as he slowly pushed himself back up once again, stepping into the open space of the room before dropping to his knees, still very weak, he could hear the machine emit a small high pitch beep causing him to cover his ear in agitation and annoyance, something was wrong and it had something to do with him, why did they care? They were villains, not good guys, he could handle a little bit of trou-
Harry’s thoughts were stopped when the pain once again washed over him, a pain so strong his voice was knocked completely from him, he couldn’t speak or scream, all he could do was fall forward, gripping the silk shirt he now had covering his torso. Something this time was really trying to kill him and he couldn’t get anyone’s attention, no one could help him, he was going to die … in Auradon.
Minutes passed and the pain grew stronger and stronger, the young boy laid on the floor, shaking vigorously as he let out small, pathetic noises, every inch of his body was on fire. Finally, the feeling of suffocation around his voice disappeared and a blood curdling scream ripped from his throat, awaking the two sleeping pirates. It only took a second for them to jump to his side, grabbing him and keeping him close, Uma knew there was nothing they could do … except … Uma quickly took a hold of Harrys shirt, ripping it from him and away from his back, only to see the large red vertical slices being forced open, blood seeping down his back as something strange peeked out from the deep wounds.
As if nothing could get worse; a sudden bright dusty light leaked from his cuts, wrapping Harry in a white light, making both Uma and Gil shuffle back in fear as they watched their friend writhe in agony.
Suddenly, the door burst open as Max ran in, pyjamas thrown on messily and phone in hand, the screen showing that he had been notified on the sudden change of Harrys heartbeat, however, he didn’t get very far as he was taken back by the sudden change in light, it was blinding, becoming too much for any of them but Max could just make out the shadow of the young pirate as well as something else, something moving, something sparkly.
With one last agonising scream, the light suddenly disappeared, once again revealing Harry as he fell to the ground, whimpering and shaking from the ordeal. Everyone in the room stared in disbelief, their eyes slowly trailing behind the shaking form, two large sparkly silver things were now attached to the pirates back, twitching on the ground,
“T-Those are … Harry … Harry’s a pixie…” This was the only things said as they all realized those things, were wings.
