Hot take: “Kaguya-Sama - Love is War” and “Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It” are basically the same series.
1) Two genius protagonists who like each other but suck at romance
2) Most of the humor of the series is about deconstructing romcom tropes (Kaguya-Sama portrays the tropes as battles of wits whereas Science portrays the tropes as scientific questions)
3) Main character who is mostly normal and struggles to keep up with her weird friends (Miko Iino, Kotonoha Kanade)
4) Main character who is a pervy closet otaku and is regularly bullied by his friends (Yu Ishigami, Kosuke Inukai)
5) Main character with pink-ish hair whose main role is to be chaos and disrupt the group’s progress (Chika Fujiwara, Ena Ibarada)
6) Most of the protagonists are introverts. Also, a great deal of the humor in the series comes from the fact that most of the characters are introverts who don’t know how to read people and social situations.
7) The main block in preventing the lead couple from being together are their own insecurities and lack of experience with romance.

"You remind me of someone i once knew" sentence started for Murasakibara and Kageyama
oof, i’m gonna be honest. i have no idea what to do with ask :3 BUT i have a slight idea. they’re gonna be kind of short but i promise i make it as cute as i can :) i hope you like it!
ps. THESE SUCK SO BAD IM SO SORRY
- Admin Pocky
under the cut for length :)
Murasakibara
You kept your eyes trained on the textbook in front of you, twirling your pencil in between your fingers and sucking on the strawberry pocky stick in between your lips.
Every second page you read, you would reward yourself with a pocky stick–that was your motivation for studying.
You were slightly distracted by the ringing of the bell above the door, signaling someone’s entry into the cafe, looking up only for a moment to meet the eyes of an attractive, black-haired stranger. He smiled at you with his eyes, or eye rather, an eye with a cute mole underneath it, before he turned back to his inhumanely tall friend.
You watched with modest interest, noticing how the tall, purple-haired boy ordered two of almost every pastry on the menu.
Poor owners–this guy might run them out of business. You chuckled to yourself before refocusing on your homework, popping another pocky stick into your mouth.
Minutes passed before you grew bored again, straightening your spine from it’s hunched position and stretching your arms above you head. You exhaled with a sigh and began to look around the cafe, keeping an eye out for the interesting duo you had seen earlier, but finding yourself slightly disappointed upon not seeing them.
“Chibi-chin, you still eat strawberry pocky?” A large hand ruffled your hair and swayed your head back and forth, accompanied by a disinterested voice. You managed to duck out of the assailant’s grip and tilted your head up, meeting the eyes of the tall boy you had spotted earlier. He widened his eyes and retracted his hand sheepishly, a light blush tinting his cheeks.
“Sorry, do I know you?” You asked as politely as you could. You weren’t exactly fond of anyone who dared to mess with your hair.
The purple-haired boy shook his head, resting his chin on the small divider in between the booths. “You remind me of someone I once knew.” He observed quietly. “You’re both really small.”
“Atsushi, that’s rude!” A voice scolded from Atsushi’s booth. You turned around as best you could in your own booth and stood on your knees to peer into Atsushi’s booth. You smiled at the boy with the bangs you had seen earlier. “He’s talking about his old crush.”
“Muro-chin, you shouldn’t be telling my personal stuff to strangers.” Atsushi complained, crossing his arms over his chest and sinking into his side of the booth he shared with “Muro-chin”.
“We don’t have to be strangers! I’m y/n, nice to meet you…”
“He’s Murasakibara, and I’m Himuro.” Himuro said, nodding politely in your direction.
“Well, I’m gonna get back to studying…”
“Okay, sorry if he caused any trouble.” Himuro apologized, earning a scowl from Murasakibara. “Atsushi, apologize to y/n-kun.”
Murasakibara peered over his shoulder reluctantly. “Sorry for thinking you were Chibichin.” He mumbled. You giggled and sat back down, facing your textbook and getting ready to put your headphones in to block out any other distractions.
“Atsushi, I can’t believe you thought she was Yumiko-kun!” Himuro teased. Murasakibara grumbled through a mouthful of pastry.
“For once, I agree with you, Muro-chin. Y/n-chin was much prettier than Miko-chin.” Muraskaibara admitted, your ear catching onto the sound of your name on his tongue. You felt heat creep up your neck and eventually reach your face and ears.
That giant sure is something else.
Kageyama
You were becoming quite hot with the two blankets covering your body and the close proximity of your boyfriend. His legs were tangled with yours, arms wrapped around your waist, and face nuzzled into the crook of neck, providing him with the perfect cuddling position.
You felt his chest rise and fall slower and slower by the second, and smiled slightly at Tobio’s claim that he wouldn’t fall asleep before you agreed to cuddle on the couch with him. But here he was, on the edge of siesta.
“Tobi-chan~” You sang quietly, running your fingers through his hair, waiting for him to open his eyes. “Wake up~”
“I wasn’t asleep, stupid.” Angry blue eyes squinted at you as Tobio shifted in the couch, tightening his hold on your hips and exhaling hot breath onto your neck.
“Pay attention to me.” You whined, pressing your cold feet to his calves, making him inhale sharply and squirm. He caught your wrists and pinned them onto the couch below you, simultaneously crawling on top of you and straddling you.
“I’ve been paying attention to you from the moment I saw you—don’t act like you don’t know that.” A ghost of a smile shimmered on his lips, but he tried to hide it so he could keep up his annoyed facade, but you knew he was having a little bit of fun.
“Hmm,” you smiled up at and tested his grip on your wrists, finding that it was too strong for you to break. “What made you come up to me in that grocery store anyway?”
Tobio rolled his eyes and let go of your wrists, knowing that this was coming sooner or later, since you loved to hear the story of how you met from his point of view. He decided to indulge you.
“Because you reminded me of someone I once knew.”
“Who?” You pressed, propping yourself up on your elbows.
“My grandmother.”
“Why?”
“Because you were helping that kid reach the fruit snacks, or whatever, and it was cute, or whatever. And my nan loved kids.” Tobio said hurriedly, keeping his gaze away from yours, a light blush creeping up his neck.
“That’s sweet.” You smiled at him, crawling toward him on the couch to kiss the tip of his nose.
“She was a great mom, and an even greater grandma. And I could just tell that you had her same kind heart—you’ll make an amazing mom, like her, someday.”
Tobio’s words threw you off-guard, causing your jaw to drop and your eyes to widen. He reciprocated, glowing beet red as the realization of what he just said hit him.
“I mean, we’re still young! And we might not even stay together–let alone even think about kids! I–that’s not at all what I meant!” Tobio struggled to find the right words, eventually just settling for silent brooding on his idiotic choice of words.
You thought about having kids with Tobio one day–knowing that he would teach them to love volleyball as soon as they could even begin to formulate ideas and emotions consciously. He’d make sure that they were always set on the right path, whatever that may be, and she knew that he would be a good father, too.
“Why are you smiling at me like that?” Tobio asked warily, letting himself peer through his fingers.
“Just think that you’d be a good father. That’s all.” You answered, leaning forward to lay in his lap and wrap your arms around his waist. “And I don’t mind if I would be the mother.”

DR Re:Birth opinions
Ayumu Fujimori (Bad Luck): He is not a particularly interesting protagonist and his backstory has much more potential to go wrong than right. Not that this is ever going be explored though.
Mikoto Itsuki (???): Basically pre-character development Harukawa. Don’t like her.
Mitsunari Koga (Ventriloquist): I like his talent and status as kid show star. The main body’s personality seems good enough. The two puppets fighting each other sounds fun on paper but it was kinda weak in his introduction scene.
Nico Himuro (Poet): Nico Himuro doesn’t seem bad but didn’t impress either. I found it weird that Nico Himuro always refers to herself in third person, but instead of using only her first name like the other third person characters, Nico Himuro always uses her full name.
Kasumi Izumo (Spirit Medium, but prefers to be called Summoner because medium sounds like a scam): I liked her a lot. Her creepy vibes are very endearing, she is crazy in a very fun way and her rivalry with Rokudou feels like it could be interesting if the story had continued. Kudos to the seiyuu because her evil laugh is lovely.
Saiji Rokudou (Funerary Agent): Another one of my favs. His personality feels kinda bland for being too serious, but he has a very cool and creative talent and his potential rivalry with Izumo as I already mentioned. He also has my favorite name.
Maiko Kagura (Dancer): Generic genki girl. Nothing special to comment about her.
Akira Tsuchiya (Neet): I want to like him for being a walking Kagerou Project reference but I’m not too fond of Shintarou either. His “Well, I said I don’t mind dying but... I actually don’t want to die a boring death. I’ll... make even this situation into entertainment” quote makes me completely convinced that he is the mastermind.
Misuzu Aisaka (Miko): She is beautiul, but I dislike Ishimaru and Mahiru’s strict behaviour and Aisaka is much worse than them in that remark, so I can’t like her. Her reaction to being compared to Izumo was hilarious though.
Narumi Oosone (Gourmet): Not good, not bad. Both of her gimmicks so far were straight up copypaste from Shokugeki no Souma.
Keigo Sakuma (DJ): Screw this character. DanganRonpa already had its fair share of crappy experience with brainwashers.
Aruma Todoroki (Tamer): I liked her much more than I expected. Kodaka should learn how to make a BDSM-themed character from this to avoid another failure like Iruma.
Marin Mizuta (Weather Forecaster): I like her talent but her not so much. Many things about her just feel off. Like her Angie-like bubbly personality that completely mismatches with her Nanami-like slow, sleepy pace, the creepy eyes on her raincoat and the way she uses “onee-san” as her first person pronoun.
Kazuomi Sameshima (Karate Fighter): His personality was completely different from what I expected. His character introduction was easily my favorite. Very cute and fun.
Seishi Yodogawa (Mystery Novelist): He is a nice, chill and likeable guy, but it really annoyed me that didn’t have any excuses for why he knew the info about every single Super High School Level student (except Fujimori). I think his talent is kind of unnecessary and going with another detective would be a better choice. Default Modern Verse
Name: Zakiko Mikami Nickname: Typically goes by ‘Z’. Pronounced ‘Zee’. Age: 39 Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual / Heteroromantic Laterality: Ambidextrous Original Home: Nara, Japan Current Home: Himuro Shrine, Nara, Japan (this could change depending on where the thread is located, but the default place is here). Occupation: Head of a Shinto Shrine
Personality: As a child and throughout her teenage years, Z was an upbeat, bubbly and friendly person. She was always the person who seemed to make friends with everyone really easily, no matter who they were or where they were from. She was the sort of person that could see the best in everyone, but not so much that it made her overwhelmingly naive. If she sensed that someone wanted to be left alone or it wasn’t worth pursuing the friendship, she would step away.
Of course, that sometimes meant she wasn’t liked by some, simply because she was ‘too nice’ to other people.
As she grew older, Z started growing into an aspect of ‘seriousness’. While the friendly and upbeat person was still there, she was very much aware of when the situation called for a more serious tone. A rebellious nature had started ebbing forwards during the latter half of her teenage years, possibly due to her father’s somewhat strict nature. But, as she grew older, that rebellious streak got buried deep within. It might still lurk there, but few have yet to pull it out.
When she started her training to become a leader of a Shinto Shrine, her personality seemed to develop yet again. She became more calm and mellow, though she could still draw people to her quite easily. It was something in the way she smiled, the way she spoke and the glimmer in her eyes that told people there was more to her. There was still the fire of a bubbly teenager within her, yet she knew that her duties would come first.
That was not to say, after she passed all her training and qualifications, that that personality wouldn’t come out again. Once she secured her place within a temple, Z was very much that bubbly personality yet again. However, something had changed within the young woman that, if one viewed Z when she was alone, could see it clear as anything. While the overt friendliness did not seem like an act, the seriousness and sometimes bluntness of the woman in private could make people think it was.
In truth though, Z is very much aware of the position she holds. It’s one that requires a dedicated eye to it and one of friendliness. While many would think she were two faced, those that know the strains she were under, would understand where she was coming from. When meeting people, she can be the friendliest person on the planet and has little problems with idle chit-chat. But, when it’s business talking, it’s almost like another person has taken over. She is rather calm and professional under these circumstances, but one would think she was someone else after meeting her in a different setting. This, however, is one of the ways that Z shows just how much she cares about the temple she looks after. She is very loyal to it and she cares deeply for those that use it.
History: Z is a distant relative of the Imperial House of Japan. Not many know it, though plenty could exploit it if they found out. She doesn’t consider herself one, being rather humble throughout her life, but does feel a very strong connection to the Shinto religion and the Shrine’s that help represent that.
Her father was a very successful businessman and as his only child, wanted Z to take over the business for him. Her mother was a housewife, but occasionally helped out at a local temple and often brought her daughter along with her. Z’s interest in the temples started out because of that. Though her father often disapproved of these trips, wanting Z to stay focused on taking over the business.
Instead, Z became more and more interested in the Shinto temples, helping out more and more there over the years. She often snuck out of the house to do so, knowing her father wouldn’t approve of so many visits. She would help out during ceremonies and some festivities while helping out with general maintenance when things weren’t so busy. Her family were Shinto believers anyway and Z felt a big connection to the religion, which the visits to the temples only helped strengthen.
There had been several conversations between her and the priests about Z becoming a priestess. Z was always uncertain but before and during her 1st year of University, she became a Miko. It was a good way to get a little bit of money (albeit not much, but it was something), strength her faith and see what it would be like. While her father was deeply troubled over the fact that she’d done this, her mother was happy that her daughter had found something she was interested in.
She graduated High School fairly successfully and went off to study History, specifically the history of Shintoism and a side interest in Folklore, at University. It was during this time that Z knew that she wanted to become a Shinto priest instead. It would mean dropping out of the history course and taking up a Shinto-related course instead. Which she did after the first year. Her father wasn’t happy with her decision in the slightest and to the current day, hasn’t spoken to Z since she made her decision. She was able to get a letter of recommendation, thanks to her mother’s help with the Shrine, which had led to Z helping out there too. However, the nature of the course meant that Z had to give up her job as a Miko.
After finishing her course, Z  given the title of Chokkai, an entry level rank for the high ranks.
It took her several more years and all the exams needed for Z to reach the title of Kannushi. It was the title of Head Priest that she’d wanted for so long. It wasn’t the highest level she could reach, as that could only be attained through many years of working at the Shrines, but she was content with it. Z was one of few women that got to this level and her mother was proud of her for doing it.
Because of her standing in Nara, Z was very fortunate to be able to become a head priest in Himuro Shrine. While she did have to face some often blatant sexism when going through her training, being one of the few women in her position has made her well thought of.
