October Horoscopes: Feeling Empowered

October is a very important month. It is filled with Cardinal energy that begins with the Full Moon in Aries on the very first day and ends with the Full Moon in Taurus on the 31st. Changes are on the horizon and although the year has been filled with changes, now we really get to see them begin. Chinese horoscopes and Miraculous

Hi there!

I actually wrote this article for a Facebook group during the summer, but i had completely forgotten about it until I read the very in-depth analysis of Kagami's role in the series written by @geekgirles . There, she mentioned the bit in Ikari Gozen that had got me started on this research, so I thought why not? let's 'delight' you with this indepth analysis of the four characters of Marinette, Adrien, Luka and Kagami based on what we know of their zodiac signs in the Chinese horoscope. There are a couple of things that may surprise you.

First of all, let's put a lovely wee "keep reading" tag, so it doesn't clog your board, because it's a little long (ah, the understatement!)

Now. Here we are and if you clicked on carry on reading it means that you may be interested so... welcome welcome.

Apologies for the length

Let's first of all talk about how the Chinese horoscope can give us a clue as of the characters age and date of birth.

In Ikari Gozen we find out that Marinette is a Snake in the Chinese horoscope. This narrows the search for her date of birth to two very precise years. 2013 or 2001. Now... counting that if she was born in 2013 she would be 7 now, it's most likely that she's born in 2001. In the French edition she is revealed instead to be a Leo. Which places her birthday in late July/beginning of August 2001. Kagami instead is revealed to be a Dragon, and a Scorpio, which places her birthday around November 2000. In an official Marinette’s Instagram post her birthday has been revealed as the 20th of November, IIRC.

Now... not only this is a great deal of trivia information for us fans, which also helps us place the timeline of the story, which hasn't yet reached a full year in Canon from the start (in the Felix episode it's revealed that it's the first anniversary of Emilie’s disappearance. Hence in 3 series the story has advanced only by less than one year). It also helps up place the birthdays of some other characters.

Adrien for example. His birthday was series 1 episode 1, quite far from Marinette's birthday in Befana. So it's likely that he's a dragon like Kagami (which would also make sense thinking that Kagami is a character that mirrors Adrien's life and situation. But this isn't the place to discuss such thing, i refer to the very well developed article written by @geekgirles if you want to know more). A lot of people have theorised that he may be a Libra and be born maybe at the beginning of October, but of this I have no proof.

However, coming back to the Dragon sign it gets even more interesting, guys. If one of you have got more in-depth information and this comes up to be wrong I do apologise. I performed quite of an extensive research on the subject but of course I'm no astrologist so I can be wrong. That said... Not only the Dragon is considered the sign of the Emperor in the Chinese horoscope, and a lucky sign (ha). But 2000 is also the year of the Golden Dragon (metal). What better description than a golden dragon for our handsome sunshine?

It gets even better when you get to the Dragon man's personality. Loves to be the centre of the attention. Natural flirts (ha! Touché Chat Noir!). Hot headed. Stubborn. Competitive. Naturally attracts money and women. Full of energy. Do I need any more proof that Adrien is a Dragon?

Let's see what the horoscope says about the Snake, and let's compare it to Marinette/Ladybug, so you understand why I'm pretty sure that the production looked this up quite in detail and that Chinese astrology can be at the base of our beloved characters.

So the Snake woman is intuitive, intelligent, reserved and mysterious, has deep thinking, a mind that goes a mile per minute. Because they are smart and come quickly to solutions, they are great in crisis situations. They're able to step back and consider workable solutions. They are determined, sensual and smart and have innate wisdom. Doesn't this speak Marinette AND Ladybug from a mile?

Now... Luka. Until last week we weren’t really that sure of how old Luka was, Astruc had said that he was a couple of years older than Marinette, but Zag’s website had highlighted that Luka was Juleka’s twin brother which, counting that Juleka was in Marinette’s class, didn’t make any sense. But last weekend Astruc has actually confirmed that Juleka has repeated a year and that yes, Luka is her twin brother.

Already before knowing this I had a look at the personality of the previous signs in the horoscope, and I had strong feelings that Luka may be a Rabbit, which would make him born in 1999 and one year older than Adrien. And this has been confirmed, so now we know. He is indeed a rabbit. Do you want proof? Rabbit men are calm, extraordinarily polite, and will do everything to avoid conflict. They have control over themselves and are sometimes conservatives. They can be considered a "yes-man", but have a line that they will never cross. They like organising, decorating, helping the wife/gf. They are great friends but don't like getting too close to someone. They are shy, introverted, honest, cuddle-lovers and attention givers. They are associated with the western sign of cancer, which is associated with the moon and the arts. Tell me if this doesn't speak Luka by a mile?

Now a little bit of trivia that will make you laugh is... in the Chinese horoscope the cat doesn't exist. The legend says that Buddha invited the animals to a dinner, and the mouse tricked the cat and didn't wake him up, making him miss out on being chosen for the horoscope. However in TAIWAN things are different and the Cat takes the place of the RABBIT in the horoscope. The confusion seems to come from the old Chinese word for Rabbit, Mao, which sounds like the Taiwanese word for Cat Mau. So the sign of the Rabbit is also the sign of the Cat. Oh the irony!!

Snakes are yin energy. Rabbits are also yin energy. Dragons are yang energy.

But it gets better! Let's look at love compatibility, shall we? *rubs hands* hehe...

Dragon man x Dragon woman (Adrien and Kagami) can be steamy and can work only if both have their own realm to shine on, because both are too competitive and can get into competition with each other. They love to be the centre of their world. They're great leaders but want the spotlight and don't settle for less. They're both independent and stubborn and their personality will clash, making it difficult to maintain the relationship going. They require a lot of love and admiration. They will never give in and apparently two dragons have a good physical relationship, mostly.

They CAN work together, but only if each has their own way to shine.

Sorry, Adrigami shippers.

Dragon man x snake woman (Adrien and Marinette): they can be an excellent couple. They find each other physically attractive. The dragon is bold and full of energy, the snake is appealing in a more subtle way. Excellent romantic relationship, they both have strong personalities that attract each other. They share a degree of savoir-faire that prevents serious concerns. The male dragon will be tempted to stray, but he will know better than doing that, because he knows very well that his companion has hidden poisonous fangs (lol) and is VERY jealous... so he will look but not touch (the wise one will at least). Snake women love success and attention, but they're not as flashy as dragon men so they will be more subtle. Snake women are self-possessive, devoted and can give a good boost of confidence to a dragon man. She will be better at handling finances than him (that wouldn't surprise me in adrienette!). They both like fine things but Snake will teach Dragon to not overspend. Little trivia: the dragon was the sign of the emperor and the snake was the advisor. So they work very well in tandem. Their union will be full of passion and personal satisfaction.

Adrienette is in the stars, guys.

Now last but not least... Snake woman x Rabbit/cat man (Luka and Marinette, but in a way even Chat Noir and Ladybug): very good couple too, they enjoy great conversation and have great time together. They make great friends. Snake loves the attention Rabbit gives and Rabbit is drawn by her sensuousness. They start as friends and have enticing conversations, which draws them together. When they start dating they realise they have similar tastes. They love cuddling in a hidden corner and will feel safe in their cosy nest to explore each other's sensuality. They can make a strong couple, unless their personalities start clashing. Rabbit can get annoyed at Snake's love for novelty and her extravagance, which may cause friction. If their temper clashes, they can't overcome differences.

So... Lukanette can work too, sorry guys. But as highlighted, it also works very well as a friendship. And sadly it's the same for Ladynoir...

What I find funny in all of this is that, if this is true, Luka has the Snake miraculous, Marinette is a Snake sign, Luka is a cat sign, Adrien is a cat miraculous, Adrien and Kagami are a dragon sign, Kagami is a dragon miraculous... Jesus what a circle! Add to the mix Marinette as the RAT miraculous and we have a real laugh… (if any of you has ever watched Fruit Basket, the Japanese anime about the Chinese horoscope, you know perfectly well what I’m talking about!) and Snake/Rabbit as friends and potential couple works for both Lukanette AND Ladynoir, counting that rabbit = cat. And then you think about how Chat Noir bounces on his baton and you think "yes that's a rabbit, indeed"!

Any thoughts?

Hello, I've had this character for awhile but just got around to it.

DAY 19 - LETTER S

1/ Scorpio

My star sign 😊 I was born on November 17, 1983. I think I’m a typical scorpio in most ways. I don’t really believe in horoscopes but I do think that your sign can partially inform who you are as a person. I identify with many of the traits but I also don’t with some..

2/ Salt life

Sorry for the gif but it was just too funny not to use 😂 I could live by the sea forever, or at least give me a lake because I need my water. Maybe it’s because that’s a scorpio’s element? I love smelling the salt in the air, the sound of the waves crash against the shoreline, the clinging sound of boat masts swaying in the wind, ...

3/ Savannah, Georgia

I fell in love with Savannah last year during our road trip. The beautiful houses, the little squares scattered around the whole city make it a really good walking city. It is hot but with the many squares and trees you can get plenty of shade. We were only there for 1 night so we didn’t get to see much. We just walked around quickly the day we got there (it was already late afternoon). We took another stroll the next morning and by noon we were already on our way. We didn’t have time to just sit down somewhere and soak it all in. I would’ve loved to do a ghost tour there but we got there too late and left to early the next day.

4/ Seafood chowder

I discovered the seafood chowder here in Ireland. I was stunned that a small bowl of chowder and a piece of soda bread could fill you for the whole day. I love fish, so this is the perfect comforting meal to me on a cold winter day.

5/ Southern sweet tea

I love sweet tea and southern sweet tea just has that ring to it. I didn’t find that the southern one was any different from all the other sweet teas elsewhere in the US but I might be wrong. Iced tea is my favorite drink so getting it everywhere was refreshing, quite literally. In my home country or France or Ireland, fresh made iced tea is not much of a thing. You can get it pre-bottled but it’s not the same. Thankfully it’s pretty easy an inexpensive to make at home.

6/ Shadowhunters

You shouldn’t be surprised by now that I haven’t read the books. I don’t think I saw the movie either. I knew about what both were about though so I was glad when they made a show. I love movies and all but I prefer shows because you get more time with the character and you can really see their story line develop over time. I loved every character in the show, they were cast perfectly. I fell in love with Malec right away and I shipped so bad, wishing for the day they’d finally kiss and the show did not disappoint. It was so refreshing seeing a show actively using runes because not many do, if at all.

7/ South of Hell

I think this show was underrated. It only lasted a season and quite frankly not many have talked about it. I really enjoyed it’s take on demons. The main character, played by Mena Suvari, is a demon possessed demon hunter. She can control her demon since she made a deal with it, feeding it souls of demons possessed humans. The show is dark and sexy as hell with that whole southern vibe on top of it.

1. It’s your birthday! What did you ask for and did you receive it?

i don’t remember my last birthday presents/requests bc it was half a year ago but like, honestly i don’t ask for much these days, i just appreciate when someone puts a bit of thought into a gift for me like, one time a friend bought me nailpolish remover bc i used to paint my nails Constantly but i refused to buy it to remove it between, so i peeled it off and destroyed my nails in the process. some people might think that’s a crappy gift but like, she knew me dshjf

2. What was the last song or album you listened to?

the last song i put On was Holo by Lee Hi bc honestly emotional support song of the year, but rn i’m listening to mots7: the journey bc it was next in the playlist i was apparently in before i queued songs in spotify sdhjf

3. What is your go to snack when you’re hungry or bored?

unless i’ve specifically bought a block of chocolate to snack on, i don’t actually snack much? i might make a cup of tea or another hot drink to occupy my mouth if i’m feeling snackish tho, or just a cup of hot water lmao

4. What is your morning routine?

i usually lie in bed scrolling for like, an hour after i wake up if i don’t have to be anywhere in the morning, then make breakfast - usually banana on toast and a cup/pot of tea (green or black depending on how i feel), or if we have leftovers from the previous night i’ll just eat that for breakfast bc it’s easy. maybe i’ll shower too but idk, i have a pretty slow start most days

5. What mythical/cryptid creature would you be?

hmm a mermaid? or a siren? some kind of water creature that sings i feel like those things are pretty important to me

6. How do you interact with somebody that you don’t like?

i generally try not to if i don’t have to. and i make it my business to not have to talk to people i don’t like kshdjf

7. How do you define a toxic person?

someone who requires everything from everyone else, who disregards boundaries that have been set, who isn’t willing to show the same support others have shown them, who thinks you owe them everything when they don’t put the same work into a relationship. this is especially problematic when there is some kind of power dynamic in the relationship that makes it difficult for the one party to request that their boundaries are respected.... definitely not speaking from experience..............

8. Have you ever been to a concert or fan meet type of event? If not, would you want to?

!! i went to my first concert last november when day6 came to australia again and it was Very good. i also did the hi-touch and tbh would not recommend it was... rushed? like i didn’t even get to See jae and youngk that well bc i was being pushed along by staff... like it was still good and i had a great time and wow i met day6 even if only for 2 seconds between 200 other people... i think i prefer the style of fan meeting where you actually get to take photos and like, have a souvenir from it? not that i’ve done that before but for the price i paid for hi-touch, i do Not think i got my money’s worth...

9. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?

i don’t think it’s hard facts, but i do think it’s fun to think about? like i don’t look up a horoscope or anything but sometimes i look up stereotypical capricorn things and i’m like, they’re not wrong? combined with the rest of my chart like, idk i just think they’re neat!

10. If you had only one sense (hearing, touch, sight, etc.), what would you want?

the sense i fear Losing the most is hearing definitely. if i couldn’t hear i couldn’t listen to music, i couldn’t make music, i couldn’t do my Job teaching, literally my entire life revolves around music. as annoying as it would be to not be able to read music, i already have a pretty good ear? (i was like, i wonder if there are braille ways of writing out music before i realised i wouldn’t be able to feel braille if i only had one sense and uuuuuh i hate this question)

11. Who is your favourite celebrity or idol?

i do hate to pick favourites bc like, i really do have so much love for so many people i’ve never met oops... but perhaps the most recent idol group i’ve come to adore are wayv? literally every day they are there on insta just spreading good vibes, posting their good pets and being generally chaotic and it has made my life just that little bit brighter to have them in it 🥰

12. If you could talk to your favourite celebrity(s) for a limited time, what would you tell them?

most celebrities i’m like, idk man i don’t really have much to say other than i think their stuff is neat and i hope they’re having a good time making it, but the first person i thought of when i saw this question was jungkook? i would want to tell him that i find the way he sees the world really beautiful and inspiring, even if he thinks he’s not as bright as some or as skilled or talented or whatever, (i mean, a) he literally is that talented but anyway) the way he’s so humble and the way he cares so much and seems to feel so much and think so much is just, so beautiful to me and i just hope he knows that doing that is more than enough, and that it doesn’t torment him as much as it sometimes seems to. i just want all of my favourite people to find some kind of peace in the chaos..

picnic by the beach? not On the beach bc sand and food are a bad combo but, bring me to the ocean and i might just fall in love

both are good but, i don’t like very sweet sweets as much as i used to, and i’ve definitely grown to appreciate a good savoury the older i’ve become

ok for shinee i own a few albums, a few solos and the current lightstick bc at least it’s a cute lamp even if i will probably never get to see any of them live 🥺

for bts i own Too Many Albums and 2019 calendar and season’s greetings, and only the seasons greetings/desk calendar for 2020 bc i missed the preorder...

and for day6 i own their light wristband thing that i bought at the concert, and a longsleeve concert tee bc they were out of the black tees by the time i got to the merch stand...

The composite or midpoint method creates a new chart for the relationship itself; it is viewed asa a new entity, with its own character, strengths and weaknesses: a synergy, if you will, of each person’s traits. Also employed was another traditional astrological tool called synastry. This second method involves examining both partners’ individual characteristics and comparing them point by point for compatibility. Thus we go from viewing the relationship as a discrete entity in itself to focusing on the individuals and their interaction. The third method used was to create an imaginary psychodrama, in which hypothetical individuals from two periods were allowed to interact. For example, by placing a theoretical prototype of a Gemini II and Scorpio III in a variety of situations (domestic, professional, intimate, etc.), their interaction could be viewed and studied psychologically. Finally, the biographical as well as personal information about well known couples and those personally known to the authors provided a reliable source of insight and most interesting observations. The Five Relationship Categories

Love

Under this category are included intimate relationships ranging from platonic to sexual in nature. It should be noted that love means different things to different people. Yet to call a mother-son relationship, a sibling matchup or a friendship a love relationship does not seem appropriate. Therefore, love is used as the name of this category, without implying in any way that it lays claim to the emotion exclusively. Traditionally, a love affair is considered by psychologists as an entity limited in duration and more likely than not to eventually disintegrate, perhaps due to a lack of social commitment, involvement and support. These relationships tend to be characterized by an emotional intensity that may be difficult to sustain and an absence of reality-based thinking on the part of the partners. Many love relationships are kept hidden because of fear of disapproval or rejection, often familial in nature. The fact that such relationships tend not to have a realistic basis does not make them less likely to occur; on the contrary, it is often the incongruous and unimaginable that precipitates them taking place. Sexual attraction is discussed in this category for the most part. Yet romantic feelings are not in any way restricted to the erotic, and some romance can manifest itself in many of the personlogy combinations that have little to do with physicality. In most love relationships, psychological projection, replaying scripts from childhood, acting out, and a whole host of emotions including jealousy, anger, a desire to dominate and control, nurturing and protective impulses, violence, narcissism, idolatry and even worship struggle for the ascendancy. Maddening, exalting, thrilling, frustrating, the promise of love continues to drive human beings into these situations in their search for the perfect partner.

Marriage

In an age in which over half the marriages end in divorce, it is puzzling why so many people still get married. What is even more puzzling is why they take the oath to love each other exclusively in the light of statistics of infidelity. Yet marriage is a powerful social institution and the raising of children within the conjugal family unit is still the widely accepted norm. The Secret Language Of Relationships considers that the question of whether two people are suited for one another maritally is of vital importance, particularly if children are to be involved. Moreover, it cannot be assumed that love is always the main motivating factor in marriage or the one that holds such units together. The emphasis on this area is on pointing out matchup strengths having to do with shared values that are of a more practical, financial, social, intellectual and aesthetic nature.

Friendship

Deep friendships has elements of love and marriage built into it. Two friends can be extremely self-sufficient and not in need of much external input.
