Hiii, I read your post about the stiff dialogue in LO, and I wanted to add my own two cents!

I myself am a person with a nice case of dyslexia (it will most likely show in this message). While I can’t speak for everyone with dyslexia, I pesonally cannot and will not publish anything ”official”, without spell checking it to hell and back. This is mostly because I’m hyper aware of this being one of my ”shortcomings”.

I also wanted to say, that most of, if not all, people with dyslexia that I know are rather self-consious about it. I just find it a bit unbeliavable that all the misspellings/awkward text in LO are there simply because Rachel has dyslexia. To me personally, it seems to be more a product of laziness and/or indifference.

Of course there is the fact that I’m not working on a long project, and I can usually take my time with my work, so maybe I just have more recourses to be careful. I also want to make clear that I don’t mean to say that Rachel’s dyslexia doesn’t affect her workload at all, but I do think she should have the means to check these things, especially since she is quite successful in the field.

Thanks for pitching in on this! I myself do not have dyslexia, but I do understand the struggle of missing words or misspelling them as my brain tends to move too quick at times for my writing speed to keep up LMAO It happens a lot when I'm writing by hand as I can't handwrite as fast as I can type so words sometimes go missing while my brain speeds ahead 😂

I can get why someone might be a little more self-conscious about typos being pointed out if they're making their comic entirely on their own and for free, or if they're just self-conscious about making mistakes in general (it can be scary to put a piece of work out into the world!) but Rachel is literally the top creator on the platform so there's zero excuse for it to have gone this long without at least a copy editor. And frankly it's still weird that they hire a copy editor at all just for checking typos because that's something that can be done so easily (again, Rachel has 4-5 other assistants per episode, you're telling me NONE of them could do it for her? Oh that's right, because she has them all draw their panels in isolation of one another and then she slaps the dialogue in at the last minute -.- the copy editor she has right now seems like the 'last step' before she submits the comic).

That said, if you go back far enough, you can actually find Rachel's take on correcting her misspellings and it's... frankly way saltier than it ought to be? Like I get it, it might feel like an attack for someone to say "hey, I spotted this mistake!" especially if you're self-conscious about it or are living with a learning disorder that affects your every day life, but when you get over that self-consciousness of making mistakes, it's really not that big of a deal? Like, yeah, it can be really frustrating when people point those mistakes out because it makes you feel bad or reminds you that you're struggling with something like spelling that seems so natural and 'easy' to everyone else, but I find true genuine fans of your work don't point these things out to be mean, just to be helpful. Yes, some people are mean about it, but you can usually tell which ones are the mean ones and which ones are the nice ones.

I've made spelling and grammatical errors in both Time Gate and Rekindled that have been kindly pointed out, and you know what I do when people find them? I thank them for spotting what I clearly didn't and I go and fix it. Because it makes my work better for my audience and my own peace of mind.

Like... that whole thing is from her FAQ section that she made herself and she's still having a tone of voice that implies she's directing her answer at one specific person as if it was like an anon ask LMAO and really, I get the spirit of what she's saying, it can be pretentious/rude to point out people's spelling mistakes... in an informal or conversational setting. If you're making a comic or writing a book, though, it's basically a bare minimum expectation that you should be using spell check and making sure things are readable. You're making the work for other people to read after all. So her tone in this followed by the whole "I'm dyslexic you ass" bit just feels so unnecessarily hostile over something that was an innocent mistake and happens to literally everyone. Like, she really do be hurting her own feelings in her own FAQ that she made on her own time, this isn't the only question in there that reeks of 2000's edgy era "fuck you for asking" energy lmao

That said, to be fair, that is from her 2000's edgy era, so I'm hoping she's grown out of that at least slightly, but judging by how she's been managing her comic the past few years, it's clear she still isn't bothering to employ simple tactics to keep mistakes from slipping through the cracks and would rather lean on her dyslexia as an excuse rather than a reason. Dyslexia is a reason for typos, but where it becomes an excuse IMO is when she blames her dyslexia and then doesn't fix the mistakes that arise due to her dyslexia or do anything to make her life easier going forward.

Again, she's hired a copy editor, so if they're a permanent part of the team now, that will hopefully make things better. But why weren't they one of the first people hired when it's clear that Rachel could really use the help to ensure her comic comes out being the best version of itself it could be? It's like she's been literally shooting herself in the foot for the last 5 years.

It really feels lazy and, frankly, disrespectful. I know that might be a hot take or seem a little overblown to use that word here, but if you're going to be creating a comic for an audience - and expecting that audience to read your comic each week and in Rachel's case be expected to pay money for it - then you should be doing them the service of making it worth reading and sticking around for. If you can't even do so much as spell check your work - or go back and edit the errors when they arise - then that really goes to show how little you care about your own audience because you're not willing to put in the time and effort to even just fix a typo, let alone give them something worth coming back to and paying for each week. Sure, not everyone pays for the comics, but those viewership analytics are still valuable and it's very clear at this point that they're dropping rapidly week after week, and yet Rachel is doing barely anything to help turn things around.

Lore Olympus disrespects its audience in more ways beyond just the typos, of course, but the typos feel like the shopping cart litmus test - it costs next to nothing to resolve the issue, so if you still choose not to, it speaks to how little effort you're willing to put in to do something helpful for others that already only requires the bare minimum to do.

Of course, much of this is all speculative so take it with grains of salt, but judging by her responses to her own audience way back in the day, it really paints a picture of how Rachel views her audience. It makes it feel like she doesn't release her work into the world to genuinely entertain people or to find others who may connect and resonate with the work, she does it purely for herself and herself alone. That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing in and of itself, it's pretty difficult to keep up a project if you aren't doing it for yourself to some degree (and you shouldn't create a comic just to earn an audience because that's just setting up unfair expectations for yourself lol), but in Rachel's case, it feels more like she's emulating the same edgelord energy of her "boss babe" Persephone - if you don't love every part of her and her work regardless of its genuine flaws, no matter how easy said flaws would be to fix, then you should just shut up and read her work and/or pay for it anyways because she should be allowed to do whatever she wants and if you don't like it, then you're an insensitive ass.

I have a general plan for the overall story and make little outlines for each chapter as I go, but the details generally get flushed out in the heat of the moment. So sometimes when people ask me about things further down the road I'm just internally like "LOL, beats me, I'm still over here thinking about this cute/angsty shit."

Sometimes I put so much effort and energy into building around a junk food trope because I like the junk food trope but it's disguised as a vegetable and it's gonna be a feet-swinging moment whether you like it or not, buckle up bitches

Probably my worst one: since I'm pretty chaotic as writer, I tend to have typos that get published when it first goes up. So if you see a chapter release within the first hour or so, it might not be as polished as it would be in 4 hours (the changes are EXTREMELY minimal, but still, I just get too excited to post loool)

I thoroughly enjoy being a tease with my plot lines, and generally will not confirm or deny theories unless they don't affect the experience of reading the fic too much (I LOVE reading theories/questions about the direction of the fic, nonetheless.)

I'm a slut for (appropriate) interaction. If you give me fanart, or headcanons, or some sort of general expression of thought & support for my work, I'm just gonna like you LOL. I occasionally rely on the judgement of these beautiful souls because of how much love they have for the work. Some of my greatest ideas comes from the support of the community, so thank you (e.g. Ribombee) <3

I also enjoy giving people the impression that we're going one direction only to go another. Sometimes this is playful retaliation to the (less serious) hypotheses that 100% guessed what I was going to do next. It's like a "you know what, ig that was too predictable, so get got?" kind of mentality?? LOL??? I'm a bit of a sadist, I guess???

Juliana's winter uniform is full white-on-white instead of blue-on-blue, and this was completely due to an oversight error (I like to be consistent with in-universe things for immersive value). I was too lazy to fix this one though and kinda like it better. LMAO.

I've been thinking about Love, Sam. Especifically thinking about why I'm so fascinated with the character of Kyle. He is presented as your typical Jerk Jock, a complete meathead, except that he's anything but.

I love high school clichés, live for them, in fact. A bitchy cheerleader, a nerd, a cute bookwarm girl, Big man on Campus, and a Jerk Jock. Live for that shit.

I also love me some good subversion. It's not necessary, but when it happens, is greatly welcome. And Kyle is a damn good subversion, one I've never seen before.

The key to my love for the concept of Kyle is the dissonance between who he is presented and perceived by the outside world, and who he is inside.

This two versions of himself barely resemble each other. When you start reading his diary, is really hard to believe that is his. The writing betrays a profound sensitivity, and keen and clever observations of the world around him (although this observations get somewhat tempered by his emotional issues). The words and the drawings in it seem fundamentally incompatible with the shallow and callous quarterback the narrative codes him as. You would expect a diary like that to belong to Sam, a shy and introspective girl, it's simply easier to imagine.

The image of Kyle yelling after victory on the football field, with his arms held high, sweat and blood on his face, versus him writing hearts and words of deep longing late at night is something I think about a lot. I know that people are multifaceted and so can characters, but it doesn't make this dichotomy less interesting to me.

It all reminds me of Scream, and how the killers became completely different people once they revealed themselves. How much of their personality was just acting? How much was real? Was any interest or quirk legit, or just an attempt to seem normal? In the case of Kyle: is his meathead jock persona, just a persona? Is he aware that he's perceived this way? Is his interest in football real? What about his disdain for the unpopular kids? Does he hold any affection for Stacy at all? This days, I guess he doesn't really care about any of this, not after his obsession with Brian consumed him.

if he didn't have to hide, would he still be a Jerk Jock? Kyle is by far my favorite version of this trope, it's just so different.

i'm pretty sure (never got diagnosed) i have dyslexia for at least numbers if not words as well. i struggle with certain spellings and remembering certain grammar (god. the apostrophe rule of ' confuses me i swear to god i've googled it and got different results. im so fuckin confused and scared) i also just. read words in a certain way that is not grounded in any normal grammar. esp with words if i don't hear often or at all i just make shit up on how its pronounced. (not a deliberate choice) idk if thats dyslexia or some other??? thing i have??? i'd see a doc about but i don't got insurance

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to Freddy's Sweet Treat Circus! This story takes place in the year 2062, Freddy fazbear's pizza has been rebranded and reopened. In this time period, the animatronics are programmed with a futuristic AI that makes them almost human. They are also coated with a unique sweet scent that makes the entire establishment smell amazing! Our nameless protagonist works the nightshift, cleaning and repairing things around the establishment. Recently, there has been a break in within the establishment and the criminal allegedly hacked into the animatronics' security database. The animatronics have been unable to control themselves, seeing staff as criminals from their database and snapping at them. The unique thing about these animatronics is their built-in attack mode to stop any malicious people that may threaten the establishment or its patrons. Normally they are only supposed to restrain the attacker and contact police, but lately their attack mode behaviors have become a bit.... violent

Finally Back Home

Sum. A parents first priority is to protect their child. And when you are finally back at Bulder Gate, the first thing you do is to go find your daughter.

Note: hi! So I wrote about this idea here. And I wanted to write something. So yeah, anyways, if you want more pls tell me :) any ideas help as well. Thank you :D also I randomly named the kid and she's a girl. And I may have HUGE typos so sorry and also I am too lazy to fix anything lol

You were finally at Baldur's Gate. You felt some sort of anxiety as you walked. Astarion, Gale and Shadowheart were with you. They all talked about how they remembered places or what they did and so much stuff you just ignored all of them. Your walking speed starts to increase as you start to remember those red bright roses by the old lady who took so much care of them that she would throw water at anyone and anything. Kids, adults, cats, and dogs. Astarion noticed how far they are from you. They all run towards you and he looks at you. You were biting your lip and looking everywhere. You were anxious.

“Is something the matter darling?” He asks and you just nod. He hummed, not really satisfied with your answer. Shadowheart notices the Orphanage as you all pass by it and says, “Aren't we supposed to go here?” She asks, after all there was a name of someone who could be dead or will be killed soon. Gale raised a brow at you not answering and looked at both Astarion and Shadowheart, but they both shrugged. Your eyes keep scanning every corner and place you look. And finally, you see those blue doors with green dye splattered on it. You hurry towards those doors and go to open but it is stuck.

It's locked, that's good. Or not…. My key!

You look in your pockets but remember something, you lost it when the damn mind player ship took you. It's long gone now.

“Would you like me to open that for you?” Astarion asks while giving you one of his charming smiles. You couldn’t help but smile back and nod. He moves to the door and starts to lockpick it. He opens the doors and is met with a child. He gave the child a disgusted look but the girl gave him disgusted look back. That's when he is shoved to the side. “Ugh, excuse you!” he says to you. You ignore him, looking down at the little girl as she looks right back at yours. “Mommy/Daddy?” The girl says, her voice cracking. You go down on your knees and she comes running into your arms. “Yes honey, mama/papa is back.” You say as your own voice cracks, tears falling down your cheeks as you hear your own little girl cry in your arms.

Your companions stood there as they watched you. “Is that your kid?” Gale asked. “Yes, she's mine.” You sobbed as you held her tightly. They noticed that she has the same hair as you, the nose, and even the lip shape. She looked so much like you. “Wait, so you had a kid this whole time and didn’t tell us?” Shadowheart asks. You look at your daughter and give her so many kisses on her sweet face. “Go upstairs, pack your things for me, okay? Tell grandma that I am back.” She nods as she wipes her tears away and hurries upstairs. You wipe your own tears and stand up. “Yes, I did, is there a problem, Shadowheart?”

“Well, for me, yes, I told you everything about me and you didn’t?” She says. “I am sorry, But i was doing it to protect my daughter.” You say. You go upstairs. “ I would do the same if I had a kid.” Gale says. “I mean, we are hated by a lot of gods and also chased by very powerful people.” he says and Shadowheart nods, agreeing. But she looked hurt, maybe a little betrayed. But she understood. You soon come back downstairs and smile while holding your daughter's hand. “Let's head to camp, I'm really tired after talking with gortash.”

You trust them all, you trust them so much that you decided to introduce your little girl to everyone in camp. “Wow, she looks all like you.” Jaheria says as she sees Layla chase after scratches. “I know, i've been told that a lot.” You say while smiling. Jaheira smiles and slams her hand on your back, “Welcome to the club of parenting, Cub.” She says while smiling. You chuckled and looked at Layla as she looked up at Astarion. “Thank you crow.”

“You look old.” Layla says.

“Uh- EXCUSE ME?”

You go up to her and pick her up. “Apologize!” You yell.

“No” Layla shakes her head and wraps her arm around you.

“Yes!” Astorian yells. Layla simply hugs her parents and hides her face in their neck. “I'm sorry , Astarion.” He glares at Layla as Layla sticks her tounge out at him. You sigh and tell Layla to leave Astarion alone. She hurries over to Wyll and is in awe as she sees him.

“Why hello there. I'm Wyll, and you are?” He asks as he goes on one knee. “Layla.” She says and Wyll holds his hand out. She holds her hand out as well and he grabs her small hand and shakes “it's a pleasure to meet you. You have such a pretty name Layla.” He says and Layla nods. She hurries back to you and hides behind your leg. You smiled and looked at Wyll. “She likes you. She gets shy with people she likes.” You ruffled her hair.

“Well that's good, I didn't want her to see me as any danger or someone who is bad.” He says. You smiled and saw Layla run to scratches and the owlbear Cub. “Where is the other parent Of the kid?” Wyll asks as everyone else approaches. “Out of the picture.” Is all you say as you look at how happy Layla is. “Why didn't you speak of it? Or mention you have a daughter?” Wyll asks. “Well, it was to protect my daughter.” You say. “We literally fought A man who was immortal, murdures going on around, Orin after us, Gortash wanting to make a deal with us, and lastly a whole tadpole is still in our brains. You think I'd ever bring her up when all of this is happening?” You say. Everyone nods agreeing. After all, a parent wants nothing more than For their kids to be safe, it's their first priority. And it was when you were on the ship. To get out and find the way back home.

But then you met Shadowheart, Astarion, Gale, Karlach, Lazel, Wyll, Halsin, and Jaheira. And then took down the goblin leader and the rest of the goblins, then fought Ketheric, and now the emperor wants to defeat the elder brain with the nether stones. Yet, even After all of that, your first priority was your daughter. Find her and keep her safe. “Well, you are one kick ass parent Soldier!” Karlach says and you smiled at her. “She's going to be proud to have you as a parent.” She says. “I did the same.” Jaheria said. She did tell you why she never spoke of them in the first place, and you understood her.

“I suppose you are a nice parent. But your little shi- ahem, sorry, kid here has been grabbing my things!” Astarion yells as he points at his tent. Layla touches the mirror and then gets to the books and knocks them down. “Are you serious!” he runs up to her and Layla giggles as she runs Away.

Everyone talks with Layla and plays with her. She was a mess, she is 7 years old after all. It was starting to get dark. Everyone changed into their comfortable clothes. And Layla lays in your arms as you hug her and wrap her with a blanket. She was fast asleep. After all, she was playing and running around all day.

You made a promise to yourself that after defeating the elder brain, you'd go back to your home, with your daughter, and go back to your old life.

RGverse Story Summary (Season 1: Part 1)

i was too lazy to continue on so have the summary from arc 1 to arc 7

i have......a lot to say before we start, actually.

and it's about the post title. you see the "season 1" thing? yeah. the main storyline is split into seasons.

season 1 is supposed to focus on ars and the more earlier characters i've made more i think. it's also supposed to go in depth with ars' conflict with dark ars, and maybe some destonio-fate lore too.

season 2 is more focused on the severed eden gang, mainly abstruse tho. it's also more focused on the rest of team destruction as a whole, and this season is overall the one that ends the story completely.

now.......there's a third season. "oh! season 3?!" WRONG! season 1.5

it serves as a bridge between season 1 and 2. it has two arcs, with the first arc focusing on one objective and also on the conclusion of two specific characters, while the second arc focuses a little more on ana, primeval, and technicolour.

i don't have names for these arcs so just take random words/sentences that have smth to do with the story of the arc itself ok thanx

anyways, i think it's safe to say arc 1 focuses on introducing some of the characters here first. i think the characters introduced are ars, lucas, ana, aresi (she only appears for like a brief moment sorry aresi 😔), the thunderriders members, fate, and destonio. that's abt it

this arc also focuses on introducing the conflict in hand; team destruction and a weird reoccuring dream ars keeps having for some reason.

as for the dream, the premise is always the same; the sky for some reason is pink and there's a weird gateway to god knows where that sucks in everything in the world and ultimately causes destruction and shit. some guy (supposed to be abstruse) is just watching some girl (supposed to be arghena) cause everything and be the bad bitch she is. also in the dream ars just watches some randos (supposed to be the rest of severed eden) die one by one in the same ways every single goddamn time (like the lore related art i posted like. so so long ago).

the dreams always ends up in both abstruse and arghena being consumed by a rlly bright light and them boom. ars wakes up. how odd.

timeskip to like. awhile after he got the dreams. he constantly get those dreams and then finally he got tired so he consulted to aresi abt it. "dude maybe you're going insane how abt you go on a morning stroll to keep yourself sane" she said.

and he fucking did that (idiot).

during that walk he met lucas who just got to the cantate kingdom. lucas was like, looking for a place to stay ig so ars was like, "oh you can stay at my place!!!!" like the fuckinh IDIOT HE IS. lucas agreedeither way bc he"$ greedy as hell at the time. i'm not even gonna bother fixing the typos but you get it right

anywayzzzzz after awhile ars told lucas abt that dream bc lucas was like "yo why do you look like you're gonna lose your sanity 💀💀💀💀💀" and uh yea. lucas did NOT suggested that ars should go to a therapist but instead told him that he should actually find the answer himself. and then boom. actual shit begins

they went to the astra kingdom first bc ars wanted to visit ana first. ars tells her abt the dream, and then she agrees to come with him and lucas. and then whoooooshhhhhh to modelista city they go

they nearly got killed once they stepped foot into it btw.

anyways after so much filler stuff we finally get to the part things get interesting. dark ars starts invading ars in his sleep instead of the reoccuring dream he always has every night. dark ars is like "hey ars can i. can i take over." and ars would be like "NO??????? LEAVE ME ALONE????"

ok ok uhhh after so much tormenting and even more filler stuff, the Sillies™ start to realize Something Is Wrong with ars. trojan decided to interrogate ars alone on that matter

Worst mistake possible.

because dark ars was annoyed enough by this to the point where he actually makes ars suffer and feel so much physical pain during the interrogation, which honestly sounds like a shitty premise, but i'm writing this on the spot, so that's why it's shitty. trojan was fucking concerned, let me tell you that.

he was all like, "ars!!!!!!!! are you fucking ok??????!!!!!!!!!!!!" and ars is like "NO I'M NOT." and then after so long dark ars finally takes over and nearly kills trojan. ouch.

lucas managed to confront dark ars abt this and was like "ars?? what the fuck man????" and dark ars was like "shut the fuck up human. i'm seriously going to kill each and everyone of you lowly idiots."

"OUCH??????" — fate, probably.

anyways they managed to defeat ars, but fate accidentally summons a portal that takes ars to a whole different place. probs far away from modelista city. "ms. fate....what the hell???" tempo asked.......this isn't a fic.

the arc ends with ars just....waking up elsewhere. as for where it is.....we'll find out in a little bit.

• arc 3: aegle city arc

i....originally didn't exactly want to put aegleseeker as a main character in the story, but now that i think abt it, he can be a supporting character in a sense.

anyways ars turns out to have woken up in aegle city, a city that.......is currently trapped in an eternal night.

ars woke up in some house ig, so he quickly realized someone found him unconscious and took him in. turns out that someone is- OH MY GOD THE AEGLESEEKER HIMSELF??????!!!!!!

yea. it could get weirder and nonsensical from here /j again

i don't have much to say abt this arc, other than the fact that ars and aegleseeker just.....help each other in a sense ykyk? it's just them bonding and becoming besties somewhat.

at one point tessi gets mentioned. aegleseeker criticised her for making this world somewhat odd. he also criticised amazing mighty at the same time. this guy is rlly bold.

not much to say abt this arc. it's...really boring compared to the other two ones i think.

IT ACTUALLY DOESN'T END THERE THO.

ars has to get tormented by dark ars again,,,,,,,,,

after that, ars decided to distance himself from aegleseeker, which obviously made him confused. like i would be confused too if my friend started distancing themself from me and talked to me less. he just didn't know that ars is doing that for his safety.

eventually, ars ran away from aegle city, not even telling aegleseeker first. that...definitely made the latter felt a bit hurt in some way, but he's good at hiding things, so that's not obvious enough from the outside.

in the end, we shift focuses...

• arc 4: lucid traveler arc

huh? lucid traveler? could this mean.....oh! lucas is the main focus here now!

it turns out, during ars' time in aegle city, the rest of the thunderriders were trying to find him. fate didn't talked to them that much out of guilt. destonio just went along i guess.

ig throughout this arc lucas reminisces on his time with ars. it's short, but he ended up feeling a lot of things because of his time with ars LMAO.

oh god,,,,feelings?

also at one point pamolia takes the spotlight, which definitely teases something for a future arc lol

god this is all going so slow i hate this AHAHSHDBUDDBF

in the end, one day, lucas decided to find ars all by himself when one can least expect it. after some finding and even more reminiscing, he ended up finding ars in the end. they're not in modelista city anymore btw. they're kind of nearly back in the cantate kingdom, but not exactly there either.

ars was literally trying to avoid lucas so dark ars doesn't hurt him, but lucas just kept on coming to him even more. it can't be helped when dark ars decided to take over eventually. they both then had a super intense fight (real) and despite all of dark ars' efforts, he actually lost Again. he ended up falling unconscious again, and because he felt pity for ars, lucas decided to jusf LEAVE HIM LIKR THAT WHAT THE UFCK MENA.

oh wow. it's trojan time besties

the main character here is still lucas honestly lmao, but the real main focus here is trojan

lucas got back to the thunderriders base after some time, and the first thing he saw was trojan and terabyte watching the fucking news.

yeah, apparently, the deal with ars and dark ars got a bit out of control, huh?

the whole first part of this arc is pretty normal.......until we get to the second bit. tempo and shifta start to notice something wrong with trojan. trojan starts to say...really weird stuff, like "haha guys what if someone here betrays us or something?" or "y'know, a traitor could be among us (SUS???? /J), right?" OR "[insert name of anyone near him right now], don't you think acting is a strange thing to be made into a profession?"

they both didn't exactly mind this at first, but then the questions and what-if scenarios get even weirder and that certainly made tempo a bit suspicious. so, he decided to confront trojan abt it.

tempo, being dumb for once, tried to force an answer out of trojan bc for some reason he isn't giving any answers???? dawg what are you hiding m8.

dark ars continues to torment him every night in his sleep. it irritates ars a lot, honestly, so yikes. BUT THAT ALL CHANGED ON ONE FATE(oh hi girly /j)FUL NIGHT.

ars meets dark ars in the dream world AGAIN. BUT THIS TIME......ARS HAS HAD ENOUGH OF HIS SHIT‼️

ars and dark ars have a lil duel and shit, but then, for some reason, dark ars got defeated again for some reason. what a bitch (affectionate). the two then have a lil talk! like a heart to heart, bc that's all dark ars is capable of at this rate.

basically, their conversation was abt how dark ars is a personification of ars' self hatred and perfectionism. it's hard to explain without his backstory post bc i haven't posted his yet (i wanna finish up on the worldbuilding ones first lol), but yeah, that's the gist here.

if ars learns to accept himself more, then dark ars will disappear and stop bothering him. as a little extra, dark ars will become one with ars. ars then decided to just accept himself for who he is and then boom! he wakes up with dark ars now being an actual part of him that he'll appreciate a little more!

also he gets a new look that i actually used for his proseka stamp redraw, but i haven't made a ref sheet yet lmaoooo

ars tells his whole family abt this and they all hug and cry in joy <3333

ars then decided to get back to modelista city to find the thunderriders, lucas, ana, fate, and destonio again.

• arc 7: OH GOD THE GANG IS BACK TOGETHER BUT. BUT LUMINE AND DESTONIO LORE ARC??????

OH GOD FINALLY THE FOCUS IS ON DESTONIO LETS FUCKING GO.

but for a small half of this arc lucars is the focus (yay)

ars gets back to the thunderriders base and literally crushes lucas and ana with the most biggest bear hug ever. what a silly guy. "if we started this together, then we might as well end this together too." he told the two of them.....haa......i love tjem....

anywayzzzzzz the focus is finally on destonio after that. basically he keeps talking about this lumine girl, and how he misses her, even if he hates to admit it sometimes. that obviously made fate a lil frowny lol

ars tries to get an answer from destonio regarding who lumine is, but destonio refuses to answer.

howeverrrr pov switch to destonio just for the sake of flashbacks happen.

throughout the arc, random flashbacks pop up here and there. uhhh the premise of each flashback goes like this:

1. flashback 1: lumine and destonio's first meeting basically. rlly basic shit.

2. flashback 2: the two of them finding out one is older than the other and vice versa when they saw each other at high school, followed by lumine teasing destonio abt his short height that fits his age. destonio Does Not like this at all.

3. flashback 3: The Besties™ hanging out at an amusement park. they got ice cream too and destonio jokes abt how lumine would be a messy eater when HE'S THE ONE WHO HAS ICE CREAM ALL OVER HIS MOUTH LMAO

4. flashback 4: this is where things get...concerning. i think. lumine rants abt how much she hates this world and how she'd rather be dead then see The Horrors™. needless to say destonio was fucking confused.

5. flashback 5: basically what one of my vent arts reference. "i wanna die, and when i die, i'm going to ascend to heaven and be god's most special angel ever! haha- eh? why are you looking at me like that, desto?"

6. flashback 6: lumine tells destonio abt an upcoming summer festival that they both should go to. this is foreshadowing Very Bad Events.

7. flashback 7 (THE LAST ONE BTW GOD BLESS): lumine and destonio are near the edge of a cliff. lumine tells destonio stuff that are muffled out for some reason (to add to that mysteriousness frfr) and then the firework show happened and then—

oh you got me good with that nie huaisang shot! the look he gives in that gif is just so pointed and sharp, i really thought it was him at the banquet. and of course, i'm always ready to gush about your work, you know (or at least i hope you do!) that i love everything you do. you always choose such good moments and your coloring makes my eyes go all sparkly_heart_emoji

i don't really have many coherent thoughts about them but your set definitely sparked some interest in the idea of how powerful these three working together might have been. if nie huaisang had let himself trust someone then i can see him trusting these two? jiang cheng because [gestures vaguely] and then qin su because well, i think that to tell her the truth in that way he must have known her well enough to predict that she wouldn't have tried to help jin guangyao. that she would have immediately wanted nothing to do with him. and i wish she had survived. i wish she'd could have seen her son get justice/revenge (depending on how you see it lmao)

the reason why these three could work so well is because they all seem to be so ruthless. qin su's actress does so much with her expressions despite only having a handful of scenes. the looks she sends jin guangyao after she knows the truth & in the treasure room speak of that sharpness i spoke of in the tags of your post, that's just the kind of person she comes off as. kind but not a pushover. slightly like jiang yanli in that sense, where i can see her being perfectly at ease making polite conversation and even willing to bite her tongue here and there for propriety’s sake, but able and willing to speak up when needed. and i realize this is all conjecture but i still believe that the acting choices from the actress that played her have given us a lot to work with given the limited amount of time she had to show us this character.

anyway i’m rambling but uh!! i don’t know, i feel like you’re really onto something here. and it’s so funny to me that, if they had been plotting together from the start, jiang cheng might have been the one with the least amount of shit against jin guangyao (given that everything he has against him came to light after?) i think he’d obviously want justice for jin rusong and nie mingjue but these things are at least once removed from him, if that makes sense? it’s much, much more personal for nie huaisang and qin su and, again, that’s just so amusing to me to consider. he’s just along for the ride, a good way to burn off some of his anger issues or something lmao

but also jumping off of that, another thing that i find interesting is that these are also three people that never really looked down on jin guangyao?? qin su pursued him when his standing in the jin sect/the cultivation world was shaky at best; nie huaisang genuinely cared for/trusted him; and jiang cheng, while probably more neutral or indifferent about him, never really had an issue with his background? he uses it as ammo during the guanyin temple scenes but that’s only after the guy’s crimes have been exposed and he threatened jiang cheng’s family (i’m not condoning it but also, i’ll be honest, to me at that point it felt more like a ‘your mama’ joke/diss than, like, an actual insult to his mother? again, he could have said something else but jiang cheng will go for the low blow he’s not above that. we know he’s an asshole <3)

idk there’s just something to be said about how in the end those he ends up hurting the most are those who had no issues with him. just thinking about the people at the gunayin temple confrontation.... like not a single one of them had anything against jin guangyao before he made them turn against him, one way or another. and it ranges from people simply being indifferent/not giving a shit/do whatever the fuck you want jin guangyao (jiang cheng, lan wangji, wei wuxian) to people who genuinely cared for him (nie huaisang, lan xichen - and of course qin su, but unfortunately she was tied up and didn’t get to participate to the guanyin temple family reunion). and so there is this layer to his downfall as well, where you wonder if he realized that. you wonder if he had a moment looking around, beyond lan xichen, or before they even got at that point, where he thought “did i have to go this far?”

but we’re not here for that. we’re here for qin su, nie huaisang, and jiang cheng. powerful triumvirate. peak head/heart/hands dynamic.

so, it's the anon who was screaming about their (now former) doctor after they marked my handicapped application as no qualifications and I have an update with no good news

I spent a lot of time writing a very long letter explaining that my disability is chronic and that I do meet the requirements, etc. etc. I didn't just apply for a handicapped parking pass, I was also asking for a letter to get out of PE. the PE letter had a lot wrong with it but the most glaring issue was she said I have never had a dislocation of subluxation, which just isn't true (she never even thought to ask if I've had one before writing this into the letter?)

I didn't even ask a whole lot of her--just that she correct the factual inaccuracies and consider that I've been prescribed a cane by my PT + had documentation from said PT that I couldn't walk more than 100 feet unassisted.

she uh, she didn't take this well. she responded with a one paragraph letter written between appointments that included 2 typos (I had spent several hours writing and modifying my letter) where she refused to change anything, not even the factually incorrect statement about never having a dislocation or subluxation. the worst part about this all is it's not even my word on the matter--there are records of the times I've visited the ER at the exact same hospital for dislocations and I know for a fact they were forwarded to her. she just didn't care and was either too lazy or too petty (or both) to fix it.

so I've fired her, and I'll be getting the parking pass from my PT (thanks to the person in the comments who suggested that) I'm quickly running out of physicians in town so I'm hoping the next one will be better than the last 4. fuck ableist doctors.

It's me again, if I keep coming regularly like this, probably you're going to get sick of me, sorry for that.

It just cross my mind; Why was y/n alone when jinsol found her? What could have happened? Did the other person panicked? Or, maybe, because the person realized y/n's drunken state, he worried and went to find something to help her, but that doesn't make sense, if he wanted to make sure of y/n's well-being, he would have taken her with him to help her, then, my current question is, what happened to made y/n end up alone?

The more I try to figure things out, concludes in me with more questions than answers. Like, now I'm thinking maybe at the date, after jinsol and wooyoung lost y/n and yunho, something happened, possibly yunho told y/n what was the "embarrassing" thing she did at the fw, and discovered that it wasn't yunho the individual she kissed. Or, maybe not, and it's too early for that. The more I think, the more I end up getting entangled in speculations, I'm starting to think it wasn't san, maybe it was yeosang, now that we haven't had any appearance of his since, chapter five or so, basically, it's the same case with seonghwa, but I'm not starting to suspect of him, I think it's not time to put him in doubt, yet, maybe in the next chapters, but not now, at the same time, while I'm starting to suspect of yeosang, also I don't want to say goodbye to the assumptions I have for san, and it's because I started to think about the possibility of being yeosang without anything that could support that theory. You don't have to answer me, I'm just here putting my thoughts in words, and trying to organises them.

Not to make this any longer; 1) Could it be that the typo you mentioned on chapter ten was/is when wooyoung said; "i just don't think her yunho r good together but it's whtv". I don't know if this has been suggested but maybe you should get some proofreaders. The updates might be a bit slower but at least you would have less correction messages. And perhaps you might get feedback on what kind of questions people might have about the translations. I'm sure some people might be interested in helping you out with that.

I'm going to write a lot here because the short answer is no but that’s also a very reasonable suggestion and I don't want people to think I'm horribly lazy or that I don't care about having something that reads well.

I wouldn't be comfortable with proofreaders. That might sound like shallow reasoning but that's a large part of it. Part of how I have maintained so much stamina for these translations is that they are a way of relieving stress and boredom for me. To add other people to the equation would increase the stress level of the work. Now, that in itself is not a bad thing (some level of stress is good, and other perspectives can be helpful), but it's just not what I want to do with such a personal project that is entirely on my own time.

If time isn’t an issue, I am actually capable of proofreading the text myself. The thing is though that in order to do it properly, I have to sit on it for a week. This allows my mind to separate from the work, as it were, and see it with fresh eyes. Thus the mistakes don't blend into what I'm reading as much, and I can pick them out. But there is a LOT of ground to cover with Evillious (ten  years worth of content and it's still not over), and I don't always have a lot of patience for spending a lot of time on things. My attention span is awful and has, I think, been getting progressively worse over the past year. Not to mention, it is not the only creative project I have going in my life (and I have to work for a living too). Thus, I view minor typoes and punctuation errors as an acceptable compromise for speed. I love Evillious but I would also love for there to eventually be a point where I'm only needing to translate it when mothy's made a new release. That day doesn't have to be soon but it would be nice if it wasn't five years from now. That's why I'm not translating mothy's non-Evillious work, even the things that take place in the Fourth Period.

It would be different if I was publishing this or being compensated in some fashion that made it more accountable--then I feel there would be more pressure to have a polished product right from the get-go. But it's not. And I don't mind fixing errors after the fact. It's just that the error messages are filling my blog to where it might soon be difficult to find other things on it.

I do know one or two people that I would trust to provide that kind of proofreading if it ever comes to it though.

(Sorry, I'm writing about bsd quite a bit because? Imlove??? but feel free to send requests for other animes/one-shot concepts!! Also, I'm writing this in bed at midnight on my phone instead of my laptop out of laziness so apologies for typos I'm exhausted and will fix them tomorrow if there are any! ^^)

You walked into the crowded cafè, your heartbeat becoming louder with every step you took towards the line at the counter. You were out shopping for used books to read in your spare time and decided to get some coffee as a pick-me-up; unfortunately, the particular spot you had chosen to buy from was very popular, especially on weekends.

Once you got to the back of the line, you felt the blood rushing to your face and considered leaving. Two girls around your age had gotten in line behind you and were laughing loudly, blocking the exit. You decided you'd stay to get your drink rather than subject yourself to the painful situation that would inevitably ensue should you try to get out the door. It would likely go something like this: you'd turn around and say "excuse me" in your usual quiet, polite voice and, because they were busy talking with one another they wouldn't hear you. You'd then try to maneuver around them and accidentally bump into one of their shoulders, and the girls would either glare at you, laugh at you, or say something rude like "watch where you're going." Things always went this way, and while you knew it was mostly your fault for not speaking up and being assertive, part of you just wished people would be more aware and mindful of their surroundings in public.

Since you left your phone at home, you didn't have much to distract yourself with while waiting, other than the art of finding patterns in the floorboards. You liked to have something to fiddle with in situations like these so you didn't accidentally make eye contact with a stranger or engage in unnecessary interaction.

You saw the back of the person's shoes in front of you step forward out of view and you shuffled up a bit, grateful that the line was progressing. Wondering how many more orders there were before yours, you decided to glance up quickly. Instead of your gaze falling on the back of some stranger's heads, you directly met a pair of vibrant hazel eyes.

You felt more heat rise to your face and you quickly looked away, smiling amiably, glancing around aimlessly at anything but the man in front of you. You wished he would turn back around.

"Excuse me, miss! I don't mean to be too forward but you are positively angelic! I am truly blessed to be in the presence of such beauty, would you perhaps want to commit a double suicide with me?!" With this, he clasped his hands together as if in prayer and leaned closer to you, his mouth upturned into a beaming smile, awaiting a response.

"Er.. haha, what?" You laughed awkwardly, certain that your face was now the color of fresh strawberries. You'd never had such an odd encounter with someone before, and you weren't sure if this guy was crazy or...?

"Ah my apologies, I should at least introduce myself before I suggest an act of eternally-binding love. Dazai Osamu." Dazai extended his hand toward you, and you shook it hesitantly. You knew your palms were covered in cold sweat and you hated yourself for it, you couldn't help but think he probably found you unappealing now.

"Ah, my name is (y/n). Nice to me- et y- ou." You felt the air leave your throat in a distorted, constricted manner as it typically did when you felt overwhelmed. Talking to anyone, let alone a tall, handsome guy was immensely difficult. Again, you cursed yourself for being so stupid and felt a small wave of nervous laughter pass your lips.

Dazai took note of your anxious state and his brow furrowed slightly. He felt an odd desire to protect you.

"Hey, this line is taking quite a long time, hm? I know a much better place to get coffee, and it's a lot less crowded! Care to go, love?" After asking, he gestured back towards the doors, and you shook your head with a faint, jumbled 'ohmhmsurethankyou.'

Once you were back outside, you began to feel a bit better. The streets were expansive, so it was easy to avoid bumping into others. Dazai led you on a short trip to a new cafè wordlessly, and only once you finally sat down to drink your coffee did he ask you a question.

"You seemed a bit nervous back there, is everything okay?"

You finally looked up at him properly and took a second to appreciate the pleasantness of his appearance. His dark brown hair matched his eyes, which coordinated well with the tan dress coat he wore. The sun hit the jewel of his tie at such an angle that caused small, blue spots to flicker across the table as he shifted his body.

"Ah yeah, I'm alright, thank you. I just, don't do too well in crowded places, ahah.. I guess I'm pretty shy, you know.." You said this in a forced sort of tone, which Dazai must have seen through instantly given his retort.

"Hmmm.. I could be wrong, but I don't think 'shy' people have trouble breathing around strangers. Seems to me that you have social anxiety, no?" The man brought his coffee to his lips and was now watching the people across the street. You wondered if he was avoiding eye contact to make you more comfortable.

"I guess so.." you laughed nervously yet again, and went on, "I've tried all sorts of things to help it but I'm just not good with people. I don't let it prevent me from living my life or anything, so it's not that big a deal." You chewed on the side of your cheek, despising the silence.

Dazai said nothing, but he had a grin on his face and still was not looking at you.

"Funny you should ask about me though, I mean, apparently you want to kill yourself. That's a more, uh, prominent issue." You felt relieved when he finally turned his head back to you and spoke.

"Guess we're both problematic, huh? Meant to be? True love? Shall we face the despair of life together, dear (y/n)?" You laughed genuinely for the first time all day, feeling the knot of unease in your stomach begin to slowly unwind.
