Why Don't You Take a Seat? (Batdad Fanfic)
a one shot where batdad meets ra's al ghul for the first time and they have tea together, talk while waiting for bruce to arrive
Tumblr media
"Please, Mr. Wayne. Have a seat." the strange man says.
It's bad enough that all your camera feeds have gone dark, the last you heard over comms from your family being the sounds of combat with mysterious assassins.
"It's not generally customary for the guest to offer a seat to his host." you respond, causing the man to chuckle.
"That is certainly true. And in the same vein, not customary for the host to not know whom his guest may be. I am Ra's al Ghul."
You freeze, the name making your blood run cold.
He... looks far too young to be the same man that taught your husband back when he was training, but it wasn't like people would be scrambling to use the name of the Demon's Head.
"And you know my name, it seems."
"Of course. We have been watching you with great interest."
"That's news to me." you say, thanking your lucky stars that Alfred isn't here tonight - so that if you do end up dying, at least your boys will have a caretaker.
A few more assassins in dark clothing emerge from the shadows, setting up a tea service before vanishing. Seeing no other recourse, you sit across from him, watching as he pours your tea.
"You of course know I am well-acquainted with your husband?"
"Of course." you say, sipping at the delightful porcelain cup. "Though it would seem your daughter would prefer to better acquainted with him."
"I do apologize for Talia. She seems to think I would favor her more were she to produce a fitting heir."
"A fitting heir?
"Archaic terminology, to be sure. Successor would be the better word. For many a year now, I have entreated your husband to be my successor, though his unwillingness to kill makes him... ill-suited."
"And so Talia..."
"Believes that should she and Bruce form a union, they may together bear a child that inherits both of their-"
"That's... not how having kids works."
"Indeed. I personally prefer that my successor show their worth through deed rather than breeding."
"So...may I ask why you've been watching me?"
"Of course. You see, the League of Shadows often examines civilization - which parts of it are worth sparing, and which parts have become too corrupted, too fallen, and must be purged. Gotham is one such city."
You balk at the idea of the League having so much power - more than Bruce had estimated when he told you about them.
"It was Thomas and Martha Wayne who, nigh-singlehandedly, kept this city afloat among the iniquity and vice of its underbelly. When they were murdered, we assumed the hope of the city had been slaughtered with them."
"But who should arrive on the scene but a young upstart with no other connection to Gotham high society but his bosom friendship and young romance with its de facto prince? You, my dear Mr. Wayne, took charge of this city and became its champion. Even among the cesspool of calumny and disdain, you have lit a beacon of truth. The last bastion of such things."
"That can't be true. I'm not the only one doing things to help." you protest. Ra's smirks indulgently, like an uncle tutting at the presumptive modesty of a favorite nephew.
"You refer to your husband?"
"Not solely. There are others trying to make a difference. Like Dr. Thompkins or Commissioner Gordon."
"And yet you are the most notable, and not only does your wealth make you the most powerful, your intellect and tactical mind makes you the one most charged to affect change. I say your wealth, and not your husband's wealth, because as I know it, you have your own standing as CEO of Wayne Enterprises as well as the Wayne fortune."
"You have been doing your research."
"Indeed. The League is no simple assassins' guild, my dear. We guide the direction of the world, in what we hope to be a favorable direction. I have been remiss in the past century, allowing the world to languor this way, what with its global warming and its wars of convenience and profit. I have intended to change it through drastic action, but... you have intrigued me. Perhaps there are... other ways. No great man truly wishes to end the life of another, and should it be rendered unnecessary, our sword can be stayed."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean... your way. Gotham has seen a marked turn under your direction and manipulation. Perhaps not an instant one, but a noticeable one. To us, a favorable one."
"So you're saying that Gotham's survival is... totally dependent on me?"
"For now, yes. But that may change. The reason I sent Talia to distract your husband is because I wished to get the measure of you for myself. I admit, I once considered you nothing more than an emotional chain tethering Bruce to foolish sentimentality, but I came to appreciate your tactic. Far less brutal, and one I will also admit I dismissed. I have held a sword for so long, I forgot the utility of other tools."
"So... you want to work with me?" you frown, tilting your head.
"Indeed. We have much to learn from each other, and with the combination of our approaches, we may find a greater progress than we would in conflict."
"Combination of our approaches? You mean killing people?"
"You cannot deny it would be expedient."
"Even if I accepted that, it'd be the wrong approach, even practically! Just killing the people that stand in our way would create chaos, AND it wouldn't guarantee change the way systemic reform would!"
"See why you would be invaluable?" Ra's grins, unperturbed. "However, one could argue that your systemic reform could be hastened by removing those that would prove obstacles to it."
"Or it could jeopardize the movement by giving the opposition martyrs."
"Ha!" Ra's barks out a laugh of genuine delight. "You remind me of someone I once knew. She would never let my mind rest for a moment when she disagreed with me, nor would she let me hide behind pretty words or turns of phrase."
"Sounds like you need someone like that around you." You chuckle, and Ra's smirks in agreement.
"Indeed I do. Will you join the League of Shadows?"
"I hope this isn't the kind of offer that's only got one answer."
"For once, I will accept either answer. A 'no' now may become a 'yes' in the future."
"Then I shall take some time to consider."
"Indeed. I believe your husband is about to join us anyway..."
Ra's seemed a sensible, charming man when you first met him, but it was impossible to ignore how menacing he could be - how many atrocities he had already committed and planned to commit.
Indeed, though he allowed Talia to continue pursuing Bruce, it seemed he tried just as hard to woo you to his side.
In any case, it was never going to be the last time the al Ghul family became a part of your life...

Of the Minion Quirks you have made: Skeletal, Sprout, School Fish, Checkmate, Claymation, Colony, Cephalosquad, Rat Pack, Spyder, Reservoir, Drone On, Look Out, Monarch, Crow's Nest, War Droid, Crone Drone, Stand Out Hexoskeleton, Head Case, Constrict, and Army Men. Can you rank which Quirks would you want if you were to be a Hero?
Oh, it's been a while since someone asked me about this. Always fun to think about how I'd use my own Quirks. Though I'm going to narrow this down to the Quirks I have the most to say about and would want instead of going over all the ones I wouldn't want.
War Droid: If I was picking any of these for purely combat roles, this would be an easy option. It's something I could easily control from afar, such as putting it into a hazardous environment or fighting a dangerous foe, letting me act as a hero with as little risk to myself as possible. Probably one of the easier ones to train, which is a plus.
Crow's Nest: Ignoring the fact that I would immensely enjoy having an army of pet corvids, I just like the utility this offers. The scouting potential is great with having flying eyes and ears wherever you need them, their ability too use tools would allow for a lot of subterfuge, and speaking through them could expand on communications.
Checkmate: While this is a lot more combat oriented for my tastes, I really like the variety of minions it could potentially offer my freedom in how I use it. Plus I have to take it for the aesthetics alone, but in how the minions look and the potential costume designs. Who wouldn't want to go into battle looking like royalty?
School Fish: As someone who prefers to take non-combative roles in a fight, this offers a nice package of options for that. With all the fish being able to combine and fly around, it works for defense, support, and utility, things that would always be appreciated within the hero world. Plus I get to slap people with fish and get called a hero.
Skeletal: While I think that this Quirk offers a lot of benefits with it's disposable minions and combination potential, I picked this because it would be funny in the hands of a hero. I'd be coming onto the scene looking like a necromancer with an undead army pulling people from rumble and working in the soup kitchen. It'd be hilarious.
Claymation: I really like the sheer creatively this Quirk offers. This offers a lot of freedom in how I could design the golems, both in their overall looks and the abilities they could have. It'd be a good jack of all trades option, something that would be amazing to have given all the situations and problems a hero could face in their life.
Constrict: If I had to pick one Quirks I think would help the most, this would be it. Regardless of my own personal preferences, the fact of the matter is that there are barely any healing heroes in the setting. And with the amount of injured civilians and heroes there are in the conflict, you're going to need someone around to fix them up.
Sprout: This could simply be the all the ideas and expansions I've have about "Sprout" in the past, but I simply think it'd be fun to have this Quirk. Just carefully planting and grow these little guys to look around and do task for you is just fun. That and I like the idea of having them around as morale booster for people.

Does Ole know how to fight? He looks like someone physically trained in the sense of combat, the jump in the gas station scene is very well choreographed (congratulations to Sam for the performance, even considering his height) - I'm a jiu-jitsu fighter and a ballerina, he did a jump very acrobatic in that scene, and I also imagine that he wasn't the type of hitman who kills you with a sniper, but the type who, if necessary, will go into brute force combat.
There's also the scene of him rescuing Dot from the well, Munch literally arrived with everything at Roy's henchman, unarmed and with only a knife (considering he had the knife that blinded Gator), I wanted to see the combat scenes with him, like we saw Malvo, Numbers, Wrench and so on. He seems very well trained to me.
(he seems to follow more of a stealthy style of combat)
ooo yes I love this question >:333
yes I do believe munch knew how to fight, though not formally. again, this is a situation where time is on his side; his own personal form of self defense that he's used for so long it almost resembles a discipline of martial arts were it not for how bestial & instinctive it is. at least with martial arts you can tell there was a before and after while the skills were honed, but munch has always needed to lash back at predators. its likeness to formal combat comes with his eventual incorporation of firearms combined with the pseudo-psychic knowledge he has of human behavior.
munch seems to prefer firearms as a last resort, though & doesn't appear to like relying on them. idk he seemed exasperated when he had to pull out the assault rifle in ep1, & when defending himself against gator in ep2, the scene clearly reads that he is the weapon, and not the pistol. age has not withered him but made him unnaturally strong and fast. thats more my headcanon since its feasible for a grown man to snap another grown man's wrist but learning of munch's supernatural origins adds that different flavor to his physical prowess.
im of the mind that munch's path to becoming a hitman was a complicated one rather than something he just picked up to survive. "a man is paid to soldier" but then he lays down his arms to go live with a community that welcomes him, until "the cannon & the musket" pull him back into solitude. i think thats when he starts using firearms as an extension of himself, to seek revenge. he probably had his own formal hunting skills, sure, but now that the significance behind those skills has been ripped from him, he wants to feed that cruelty back. bows & arrows become guns, and when he cant pick off his enemies from afar, he uses his hands and teeth. it might also be a form of punishment, like attaching a gangrenous limb to a stump. it provides you with temporary reach at the cost of poisoning you.
I thought it was interesting that he knew he was going to be ambushed the second he saw those men through the bushes & yet still followed gator to the shed (?) instead of incapacitating him before they turned the corner. I think he wanted to humiliate him, and, in turn, roy, by proving he's just as useless being supported by others as he is alone. kinda pretentious here so bear with me, but I also thought it was great that munch subdued gator by yanking his groin. a very good blink-and-you'll-miss-it instance of munch using the tillmans' masculinity against them.
the whole thing with dot's rescue will always be fascinating to me no matter what bc of all the unspoken layers leading up to it. munch went to the ranch with the intent of hurting gator, but somewhere along the way he sensed dot's presence, like he could smell her fear, and he followed it. from the way that one henchman was pulled, we can infer munch snuck up from behind, maybe from low ground, which would explain why the others didn't readily see him from their peripherals. that combined with his ferocity threw them off guard just enough that he could disarm them. instead of approaching them as another henchman, which he temporarily was, he rips them apart. instead of leaving dot to use the ladder, he checks up on her, remarks about the unfairness of her situation, and extends a hand. there is a clear thought process here, not entirely governed by animal instincts. he does sense the caged animal in dot, but the residual human in him desires contact and reassurance and the need to help, especially someone who's so like him that it haunts him. I've waxed on about it before but its so "stray animal learns to respect the human that feeds it" except he & dot weren't on that level yet. it was just a spiritual connection, one that was unequivocally necessary to act on. humans are social animals, but animals all the same, & that dormant part of his brain that yearned for love all those centuries was poked at, ironically, after being beaten in battle by this woman who was at her most animalistic. a prey animal turned predator.

To Know About Sonic.Purgatory
I am glad this is already being received well, despite my initial lack of online presence. But here is some stuff about my AU, this is only a starter, I may revise alot of the information.
Hint hint: You can interact with storyline, HEHEHEHEH
Tumblr media
The EXE
ECE is his name (till i find something better).
He is a lonely, deplorable dude. ECE hopes someone picks up his game to play it, in which he has the ability to pull their soul into the game. He doesn’t even wait for them to finish it, ECE is impatient. Even sometimes when he feels like it, ECE will mirror the appearance of the person playing said game, he does it to freak the hell outta them.
ECE found out about the world of Sonic purely by chance.
He doesn’t view the animals – or flickies – in Sonic’s world as actual living breathing beings, only putting that subjective idea into ‘Mobians’. Hence having no guilt for killing them, however he is apprehensive when it comes to the souls, to the characters themselves. Though, when your soul had been pulled into his game, ECE had heavily favored you and took a great liking to you.
ECE likes to chase the survivors, running into Green Ring after Green Ring. He finds it fun.
The Survivors ( or Victims )
You were new and fresh, joining after ECE had taken over the whole of the world. You just wanted to go home and go to sleep. You eventually learn more later down the line. In a way, you as the player are the only one capable of things the other survivors/victims aren’t.
Tails is inevitably already a Souls Guardian, he has the smarts and somewhat decent speed but he didn’t have the strength to outdo ECE. He is young and was not trained for combat, only working from behind the scenes and lending a hand in most situations when he can.
Knuckles is alive, though he took it upon himself to protect anyone that is alive and well that he comes across. He is distressed enough as it is about this situation, he managed to fight off ECE for now, but Knuckles is incredibly riled up enough – he’s riddled with paranoia. Though he manages to stay calm more often than not.
Eggman has the corpse of Tails’ in a stasis chamber, for now the body is alive at most; he is trying to find a way to bring back Tails. Though the Doctor has not been face to face with ECE just yet, he prefers to stay at a distance, he partook in a temporary truce with Knuckles (though the echidna was skeptical at first because of how Ivo had manipulated him before). Eggman is putting his time into gathering information, as much as he hates doing so.
STOP:
Souls Guardian, what are they? They are victims of ECE, though he cannot control the more strong willed victims. Weak-minded ones become puppets, no free will whatsoever. The ones who have a stronger will can resist against it, the game is beginning to recognize ECE is not part of it. So it offers the strong-willed victims pathways to help those alive to get away, and to temporarily risk guardianship against ECE (much to his disdain).
The world is technically more or less alive, in only something that doesn’t belong that disturbs its forever sleep.
ECE had gone rogue against his makers and had injured them majorly, as originally he was organically designed to be something made to help the good of people. He used to be real before he had gone digital, finding it fun to interact with digital spaces.
From the moment ECE had entered Sonic’s world, the space had reacted badly. So he had manipulated the reality, fabricated it to his liking.

heyhey, I'm doing some worldbuilding of the Great Knights myself right now, and I'm wondering—how do you view their role in the kingdom? Were they primarily a military force, or diplomatic, or both? Did each knight have separate duties and training, or did they overlap a lot?
Thank you for the ask!! I would love to ramble about the Great Knights... I do love those guys (if you can't tell /j)
To me, the Great Knights are more direct extensions of the Pale King and White Lady themselves. To Hallownest, the Great Five are the more 'public' face to the King and Queen's will, and I also believe each one serves a distinct purpose. Military, diplomatic, emissaries, etc- they are all and more, but each of them is highly individual.
I believe the Great Knights are, in the most literal sense of the term without any emotional connotations, tools for both WL and especially PK to utilize and fill in the gaps in their own arsenals. I don't believe each of these knights were chosen for combat alone; Ogrim, bless his heart, is a mess in that department. But each one brings something to the table that makes them stand out among the ranks.
To start, let's talk about the two that I believe have the most direct connection to the two rulers of Hallownest:
Dryya is admittedly the knight I have the least personal lore around, but I think her purpose is clear: She is the Queen's Guard. I believe she is what the White Lady needed most; a protector, a defender, and a confidant. The White Lady in my hc is far more a personable higher being than the Pale King, and before she bound herself, I imagine she would have been the one to attend to the more social aspects that came with being a monarch, while her Wyrm preferred to work behind the scenes. Dryya served to ensure her safety and to command her guard; as a higher being of life, I imagine WL has very, very little interest or knowledge over things that cause such mass death such as warfare and border skirmishes. Dryya would have been the one she trusted most to lead the Queen's Guard in her stead.
Hegemol, on the flipside, was the opposite for the Pale King. He was hand-picked by the king specifically because of his connection to the people of Hallownest; how easily he wove through crowds and stopped to assist even the smallest bug with their kite stuck in a tree. Hegemol had the social standing by sheer reputation alone, and had long since become a local hero in his own right. Certainly, his strength was unmatched given his size, but the decision to raise him as the first Great Knight was entirely strategic on PK's behalf. The Pale King had no need for a defender; he may have shed his shell, but he was more than capable of holding his own. What he really needed was a face to his own people that didn't involve his own.
Hegemol, in many ways, was one of the ones who taught PK to love Hallownest without knowing it. How I write my PK is that he started as a very detached, near-emotionless creature. Hegemol was not initially selected as recognition for his own good deeds (though PK at the time had enough wherewithal in him to make it seem that way); PK knew he desperately needed someone to help him sway the new minds of these bugs. Was it manipulation? Yes, as much as a creature with next to zero moral compass at the time and just an overall desire to 'make a good kingdom' can manipulate. Over time, Hegemol took on many duties, but his most important while he was the Pale King's only knight was to be a confidant and liaison with the common bugs of Hallownest. He later also became the king's tactician, though he shared that title gladly with Ze'mer.
The other three do not have a 'direct' role to either ruler, but more to Hallownest itself.
Ze'mer is a renowned warrior from outside of Hallownest. To me, she was a field commander, trusted by her kingdom to seek out those along their borders who may eventually come to harm them. She arrived in Hallownest just this way, and gained audience with Hallownest's rulers on behalf of her queen. After a few years of diplomatic talks, Ze'mer was essentially 'stationed' in Hallownest by her queen, likely as a more cultural and diplomatic exchange as the two kingdoms developed trade. I'm still working out what happened between them (Part of me thinks her kingdom was devoured by the Blackwyrm, and when she fought alongside the others to destroy it, she pledged herself to PK as recompense for helping to avenge her people) (or something juicier that I'm still back and forth on :eyes:)
In Hallownest, Ze'mer is the most militaristic. Ze'mer is near-unmatched in her battle prowess, not just with nails in hand, but with her knowledge of wartime and experience leading troops. I said before that Hegemol was a tactician, which was true; but all of his experience came from books and heavy research on behalf of his king. Ze'mer lived through and led multiple wars in her own kingdom, and her knowledge in this aspect would prove invaluable. Hegemol learned nearly everything he knows from her in that regard, and even now will defer to Ze'mer's judgement of a battlefield over even the Pale King's.
If she has any title, Ze'mer is the King's Champion. She is the one PK would send out to investigate border skirmishes, to scout out nearby kingdoms and lands, and to put down any fighting occuring within Hallownest itself.
Isma, imo, was quite literally a gift from Unn to the Pale King, when Unn allied Greenpath and it's inhabitants with Hallownest. In my mind she's some sort of moss-aphid creature that Unn very much spat out fully-capable. She said hey, little wyrm. Here you go. And then he said um. thanks. Isma's role among the five was the most diplomatic, especially to the people of Greenpath and the Mosskin. She was known around the kingdom for her healing abilities and her ability to revive even a long-wilted houseplant. Isma was instilled by Unn to ensure that Hallownest never grew too cruel, and always remembered it's roots.
Within the Great Five, she was often the first healer they saw, especially on the battlefield. Of course, healing isn't all she can do. In more than a few political plots for the sake of the nest, Isma has also been in the position of royal poisoner with her arsenal of herbal knowledge, and she can manifest thorns as easily as she can new fronds.
While Isma and Hegemol share similar roles in how they bridge the gap between the commonfolk and the royal court, it is worthy to note that Isma was far more roving than Hegemol was. As Hallownest grew, Hegemol tended to be recalled back to the palace or the City of Tears as both's primary guard, while Isma would be spotted anywhere from Greenpath to Crystal Peak to the Fungal Wastes to negotiate with the Mantis tribe.
And lastly, Ogrim. Poor, sweet Ogrim. In my timeline, Ogrim is just barely out of his squireship by the time of Hallownest's demise. I have very little for him in where his place would be among the five because of this, but if all had gone perfectly to plan, he was intended to take Hegemol's place while Hegemol would stand as the eternal bulwark of the Watcher's Spire, to protect Lurien in his dream. Ogrim has the fondness and charm fit for getting along with many bugs, but lacks... The discipline that would certainly come with time and age. If only he got it.
Ogrim was also Isma's squire to me, and thus the two had a very close mentor-student bond. It's why he protects her in the waterways, yet also doesn't dare to stray too far.
I hope this helped to answer some of your question! My writing is a bit fried today but I hope I got everything out clearly :)

what are all your favorite headcanons about Puma ??
*cracks knuckles* Thank you for asking. >:) LONG POST WARNING
For those who don't know who "Puma" is, that is the name I've given the hallway PM700 who is the only PM700 with a voice line in the game. I like that name for her because her design is sleek, her eyes are green, and it relates to the P and the M in her model code. You can name her whatever you'd like though :) This is her:
Tumblr media
I like to headcanon that this is the same PM700 who is dealing weapons and training other androids on Jericho during Crossroads. To me, it makes sense because these are two "major" scenes for a PM700, and from a narrative point of view, it's unlikely these two would actually be different androids. I tried to test getting Connor to draw close enough to her in Crossroads to get a warning pop-up, but the crowd blocks the way. >:( However in the timeline I'm playing on I don't think I talked to the hallway PM700 so idk you probably still can't reach her in Crossroads but it'd be cool.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are two undecided headcanons, though I prefer the first one:
Puma (during Waiting For Hank) is deviant and is pretending not to be so she can steal weapons from the DPD for Jericho. She deviated from mistreatment in her line of work at some point. Could be Gavin.
Puma (during Waiting For Hank) is not deviant but deviates when she witnesses Connor standing up to Hank and not listening to him. She can also potentially deviate via Gavin at some point.
PM700s are specifically designed for patrolling, guarding, and observational tasks. Basically, they're like glorified security guards. As a 2029 model, PM700s would have to get software updates in order to stay up-to-date with current technology. I headcanon Puma is as recently updated as an RK800 because of the nature of law enforcement/how laws are constantly changed/how androids are getting better and more powerful/etc.
Therefore, as a feminine model whose main task is to observe, I like to headcanon that her skills lean into typical "spy" territory. <3
Tumblr media
She is polite, straightforward, and professional as per her programming, but as a deviant, she uses this to catch people off-guard.
Due to the human personalities she's surrounded with at the DPD, her personality has developed into being incredibly sarcastic, sharp-witted, and nonchalant.
Smiles, but has the boiling rage of an underpaid customer service worker.
Puma shares similarities with and would get along with North, Connor, and Rose.
She's jaded and sceptical.
Literally so insane. You give her a packet of red ice to put into evidence and she'd tell you that if you don't tell your wife that you're cheating on her then she'll snort the red ice. You say no and Puma pours the powder into her gloved palm right in front of you and just FHHHHHHHH
A cruel/dark sense of humour. Will swing a pistol around on her pinky to freak everyone out even though she knows it's completely broken
Queen of blackmail since she hears all and sees all
If she ever saw Connor's insides/they were comparing hardware, she'd be all like "YOU HAVE SEVEN PORTS??? SEVEN?? LOOK AT THAT AUXILIARY TUBE!!! WHAT! CONNOR YOU'RE A BEAST WHAT WHY AREN'T YOU SHARING ALL THAT HORSEPOWER" (because, remember, she's a 2029 model)
In the DPD, she befriends Connor (lmao), Officer Person, and Officer Chen.
Puma returns to the DPD to make sure discrimination like that in the past doesn't occur again/she prevents it from occurring and makes sure that the androids who are arrested are treated equally to human criminals. She also returns to the DPD (if Connor returns to the DPD) to keep an eye on him because she knows his past and what he is capable of.
Tumblr media
I like to think that after she goes deviant, she has the opportunity to update her software to include other androids' packages. For espionage, she'd download WR400 behaviour software (though I headcanon her to be built like a Barbie doll underneath) and for combat, she'd download martial arts stuff. I want to see her with nun-chucks. That would be terrifying. As a 2029 model she wouldn't be super strong or fast so she'd have to use other ways to get onto the same level as a 2038 model.
In terms of Connor and Puma working together, Connor is built specifically to handle androids and know their weak spots and how to read them etc. So for Puma, she'd know everything about humans in the same way. (It would be the same for a PC200 model.)
With constant software updates and how she is specifically designed to monitor, I think her HUD operations would be somehow more advanced/focus on more things than Markus/Connor/Kara. She'd be able to notice not only what she can interact with, but the tiniest details that may be out of order. She'd be able to pick up that a mug had moved 2mm overnight. She'd know the entire DPD's routine. Who goes where and does what at any second of the day. And that's why she can steal weapons from the station.
Okay, some fun headcanons that are only grounded in my above headcanons and not actually in canon:
She gets a motorbike eventually.
She exclusively wears black leather on the days she's riding her bike. (She already wears a bit of leather as a part of her uniform.)
She has 3 wigs, one of which is long black box braids with beads in it and it matches her fairycore aesthetic (for casual clothing ofc) and the braids literally reach her ankles. I think that would look sick
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But yeah she keeps her designed hair for work because it's short and practical.
She legitimately enjoys clubbing.
She REALLY likes waterfalls. The sound and the feel of it
She can dodge laser beams like Lara Croft and fold herself backward like a gymnist
She likes to dance!
Apparently she loves snakes so I'm adding that to the list. It's funny because I'm like "Connor's the DPD snake" and it makes double sense if she returns to work as a cop in order to keep an eye on Connor because she's sus of him even after his whole deviancy arc.
If especially jaded and insane, she probably carries around a bullet or a knife with "Connor" engraved into the side.
She gets Gavin to fuck off away from her by moaning really loud

A cute guy likes me on a dating app. After chatting with them for weeks, we decide to go on a date. They are very flirtatious and forward over the app, but not when we meet in person. He admits he thought I was transmasc like him, we laugh about it because his mistake is funny and means I'm not passing but in a silly backwards way. I think his sudden awkwardness in person may be nervousness and flirt with him in ways less forward and aggressive than he'd been flirting with me earlier, and they become cold and distant for the rest of the date. By the time I get home they've blocked me on the app we met on. This case of being mistaken as a transmasc on a dating app will happen 3 more times, and in 2/3 times it results in a similar sudden lack of interest where once they were coming on to me. None of these people will be cis.
I am in a self defense class for queer people, learning hand to hand combat as a community. I have been here months. I notice I'm the only transfem in the classes but there are other trans people there so I don't think much of it. Today I have some stubble as I did not have time to shave before the early morning class. When discussing unrealistic action movie and anime fight scenes I describe on of my favorites, quoting the lines as I pantomime the goofy moves. They smile and laugh along until the word bitch leaves my lips in one quote, then the bisexual woman who only ever they/thems me glares at me like I've committed a grevious crime, and the rest of the class looks at me like a freak in awkward silence for a moment before moving on. I learn bitch is not a word a clocky bitch can "reclaim". I am quiet in classes now, and when I go I focus primarily on the training, when I see other trans women try it out they often give me a sad look and do not return for a second class. I get a sinking feeling that if I ever use this training to save my life one day I'd be branded a violent man instead of a strong woman.
I am texting with a good friend of years who was one of the people who helped me realize I was trans like them and even the one who helped pick out my name loves talking about our shared interests and sharing their favorite smut with me. We bond over favorite stories, artists, characters, and kinks as well as our trans experience. Yet they constantly tell me they could never date someone who's AMAB because of the trauma of being "female socialized" and their genital preferences for vulvas. Every compliment they have ever given me on my appearance or outfit is followed up by "but in a non-sexual way, I could never date you". Today I finally have the courage tell them they don't need to say that every time. They ignore this response. We keep talking for awhile, but they start taking months to respond to my messages and respond with a short sentence at most. They no longer share details about their life and shut me out when I ask or share details about mine, even the most mundane and chaste details. I stop talking to them. A birthday gift I bought them months before this falling out happened looms at me in my closet. I cannot use it as it doesn't fit me but can't bring myself to throw it away, just in case we reconcile one day. I feel pathetic for craving friendship with someone who sees me as "abuser-bodied", that so much of my early stages would've been impossible without their help. I feel a little more lost without them.
I am at a queer/trans/enby kink dance party with some friends. I am scantily clad and wearing a skirt and high heeled boots. I do not pass well so this space is one of the few places I feel safe and free dressing like this. It is packed with queer and trans people just like me engaged in delightful debauchery and wearing very little. The music hurts my ears but I'm happy to be here, I feel overstimulated but alive and authentic. I am approached by a beautiful stranger from across the dance floor, she is graceful and stylish, like some modern Galadriel clad in leather, white lace, and industrial piercings with impeccable voice training. She compliments my outfit, I compliment hers. She tells me I need to shave my armpits if I want to look like a real woman. My two friends stand up for me and yell at her. They assure me she was just being an asshole, that women were supposed to be hairy, but I can't help but notice how both of them have hairy armpits and yet the "advice" targeted me. The wide range of bodies that people here tonight find desirable on cis women don't seem to apply to the women like me. I am the only one of us that doesn't go home with a hookup at the end of the night. I realize now she likely spoke from experience. I am still hurt by her words, but realizing the kinds of experiences she must have had herself to feel her words were kind advice hurts far worse.
A local queer photographer who's work I follow is looking for women & non-binary models for a photoshoot. I have become comfortable with getting photos taken of me for the first time in my life since my egg cracked, and had a few small time modeling gigs under my belt. With something like this I could actually have the beginnings of a portfolio. I reach and am told that they are not looking for trans women models, "only women and AFABs". Getting the same line I get from agencies from an independent queer photographer repackaged in "woke" terminology stings. I see many queer and nonbinary models I looked up to take part in the shoot. I have to wonder if they knew that the photographer's definition of woman didn't include trans women, or if like me in my martial arts class they noticed no transfems were there but didn't think much of it because there were other trans people there.
It is years ago and I am still an egg. I am with my partner of 4 years. I am exhausted after a long day. She asks me for sex in the voice that I know means saying no will hurt her. I learned from her long ago men have high and insatiable sex drives, therefore saying no meant I wanted to have sex, just not with her. So I say yes. The sex is painful and unsatisfying, and I simply do my best to thrust through the discomfort until she cums. I feel numb and hurt. She enjoys herself but seems sad I did not cum. I assure her I love her. When we hold eachother after my obligation has been met and I finally feel comfortable and safe. We begin talking. She talks about the trashy women she saw on the street today, describing their cringe outfits and ugly styles and bad hair. All the styles and clothes and hair I yearn to try myself in my deepest and most repressed desires. I change the subject and ask her about work and family. She asks if I'd still love her if she were a man and I say yes. She says she would still love me if I were a woman. Something in that statement feels like a lie. It is months later when we break up and I move out. Now that I am a woman I look back and know from our years together that if I were a woman then she'd hate the kind of woman I'd become. That if I were a woman she'd still have the same expectations of me as a man, that her refusal of sex equated an impersonal not being in the mood but my refusal of sex equated a cruel refusal of love.
A lesbian group begins organizing a queer woman's strip night event. A safe place for amateur performers to shine and women to perform and enjoy sexuality away from the male gaze. I see no transfems in the promotional material or leadership team, and I've learned not to think nothing of it just because there are other trans people there. I do not go.
I am talking with my therapist. They are trans too and an amazing therapist, often providing insights and advice only someone else with the lived experience of being trans can. I express distress and suicidal ideation at the fact I feel like I need to pass before I can dress the way I want. That until I get expensive hair removal procedures and FFS I can never feel safe and welcome presenting authentically. I lament how these things are expensive and may never be accessible to me. They tell me I need to deal with my "internalized transphobia", as if these feelings aren't a result of constant rejection and othering by external forces even within queer spaces. As if the scrap of womanhood others sometimes acknowledge in me does not rely on their perceptions of me.
There is a publication accepting works from trans people of all stripes to document trans experiences. It gets flamed for not having a single transfem as a contributor. The people behind it apologize profusely, they say didn't notice no transfems had sent work in and would do a sequel publication that was transfem-centric. I wonder if anyone had noticed there were no transfems but didn't think much of it because there were other trans people there. I think about the kinds of spaces I've seen like that, and the implications it has about how they treat transfems, and I am unsurprised no transfems submitted.
One of my closest friends for years is very supportive of me when I first begin crossdressing and experimenting with they/them pronouns. She gives me suggestions on cute clothes to wear and takes me shopping as well as asks for pictures. We had helped eachother discover we were both queer as young teens, come to terms with it, and navigate it in a hostile environment, so I have complete trust. We are close enough we are frequently asking eachother advice on serious life choices & relationships, sending nudes for critique + tips before sending them to our partners, and sharing our most secret and vulnerable moments. She often asks me for tips on getting her straight boyfriends into pegging and crossdressing that make me slightly uncomfortable but I don't mind, she is a loyal friend I would endure a great many discomforts for. I host a lunch for us one day, and come out to her as a trans woman. I tell her my new name, say I no longer use he/him pronouns, and thank her for her support on my journey thus far. She launches into a monologue about how by changing my name I am throwing away all our memories together and spitting in the face of my family. Taken aback by her sudden heel turn after being so supportive of me being nonbinary and GNC, I excuse myself to go to the bathroom to get a break and give her some time to process. When I am in the bathroom trying not to cry, she is on the phone. I overhear her misgendering me as she is talking about me being bisexual in a frightened voice. She sounds truly afraid that I intend to be sexually violent towards her. When I leave the bathroom and sit back down I pretend not to have heard. She gets off the phone, saying she was just chatting with her boyfriend. We talk a bit longer, she explains how "the surgery" is dangerous and experimental and she hopes I won't get it. I assure her I won't and do my best to change the subject and hope she comes around after some time to process things, hurt and shocked that what I saw as a natural shift in the path I was already on marked me as frightening in her eyes after knowing eachother for over a decade. That a fellow bisexual suddenly saw my bisexuality as dangerous now that I was asserting myself as a trans woman. I say goodbye to her, and she says goodbye to me using my deadname, I do not risk an argument to correct her. It is months after the meeting we have not seen eachother since and she has not responded to any messages I sent. After reflecting on her reaction further I decide that I don't really want to spend time with someone who thinks these things about me for my own safety and mental health, regardless of our history. A friend of 14 years who supported my queerness and transness gone the instant I crossed an intangible woman-shaped line that marked me as a predator and invader in her eyes.
I log online and day after day see trans women getting banned and harassed. Seeing baseless callout posts calling them groomers and abusers getting taken seriously by other queer and trans people. Seeing proof that deep down so many people I consider kindred spirits see me and people like me as worthy of intense scrutiny and policing to keep "the queer community" safe and united. The blocklist grows but everything stays the same. I treasure the people in my life who don't take part in this and would do anything for them, but it seems they get fewer each time.
I'm not making this post to seek sympathy, I am used to this kind of shit and far worse has happened to myself and others. I just make this to illustrate transmisogyny is not some "online-only" issue like people claim. Even if online issues weren't "real" (as healed is fond of saying, "online is real") this has tangible effects in the way trans women are treated offline as well. By communities, friends, partners, colleagues, systems, etc. That's why we talk about it.
So much of the discussions people have paint transmisogyny as some online oppression olympics maliciously trying to divide the community, smear transmascs, and "reinvent bioessentialism". That is not what it is about. Discussions about transmisogyny is about how we are treated for being what we are, and while related to transphobia and misogyny it is seperate because it often represents doors other trans people and women can walk through that transfems cannot. It has affected me in my most intimate moments when I was with other trans and queer people I felt safe around, and taught me that I need to carefully manage my persona and presentation at all times lest my authenticity be branded "male socialization". I am even terrified to express attraction to people who express attraction towards me because I'm so used to being treated like a predator upon reciprocating or being used and abandoned by people I trusted. I am terrified to be too excited about shared interests with friends lest I be too loud or talkative about it and branded with aggressive male socialization. So I make myself quiet and small, and shrink from the community and people I care about, and become more and more isolated.
Anyways, stop platforming anons who spread lies about trans women, stop hopping on TERF harassment campaigns because the trans gal they're smearing "gave you bad vibes", and maybe consider carefully if in your own life where you draw the line for a transfem's behavior is any different from where you'd draw the line for anyone who's not one

Gang SPK AU I came up with after watching a 4 hour gta lore video on youtube
Typical criminal gang au where they go out on heists
Near works behind the scenes and plans everything. His plans are perfectly tailored to fit the abilities of each gang member. He secretly cares for them, but prefers to keep his distance. It’s better to not form any emotional attachment. He turned to crime as an act of rebellion to the people who used him like a puppet.
Rester is the oldest member and has been in the gang the longest, he’s in charge of the weapons and has vast knowledge about guns and in general has the experience. Acts as a leader (and a dad) for the gang. Has a family who he loves dearly but shields them from his gang life.
Halle has been in the gang the second longest and can easily work as a mole or blend in the ranks of an enemy gang. Is trained in hand to hand combat, and gives the team valuable intelligence. Used to work for the law before shit went down in her life, prompting her to turn to the life of crime. Espionage Queen!
Gevanni is a new member, recommended by Halle as the two were friends. Has ridiculously good skills after living a life working for any gang that gave him money. Specializes in lock picking and forgery, but won’t hesitate to kill if needed. Has a way with words to get anything he wants. Also the type of guy you can send to parties undercover. Good looking hot-shot indeed, but he secretly wonders how different his life would be if that didn’t happen…
Mello isn’t an official gang member but he stops by here and there, as their gangs had formed a short-lived alliance, but also as he knows Near personally. Sometimes he works for them, other times he works against them. He’s ruthless and will do whatever it takes and will risk his life in the process. Many don’t trust him, but Halle does! He gives them the resources, and also has explosives for some reason…
Matt, their trusted hacker and get-away driver. He’s a friend to both Near and Mello and is a member of the gang. They trust him more than Mello as he’s not the one who blew up a building and usually helps them (when bribed with cigarettes.) He’s mainly here for the paycheck.

Chapter Twenty: Sonne Pt. 1
Envy was laid upon the frozen floor as they began to stir into consciousness to only be greeted to a scene of abstract looking buildings that made no sense to them as the mist softly swirled around the angry homunculus. The shapes of the houses were unlike the ones Envy would’ve seen when interacting with the humans as the soft drops of misty rain hit their face. Annoyed, Envy attempted to get up right to only fall over into a rain puddle on the cobblestone road, causing an angered hiss to escape through elongated, sharp teeth. Wondering why their legs were not working, Envy glanced below to only realize they had a serpentine bottom like a deranged mermaid. Not wanting to mess around with their clear goof up to their preferred form, Envy attempted to shapeshift back to their personal likings to only find that nothing happened. There was a second, there was a third, there was even a fourth time before Envy realized their shapeshifting ability was disabled. Since there was no Freddy there to take out their emotional turmoil upon, Envy could only thrash about in fury as their own webbed hands grasped around for something to pull themself up on. Slowly, Envy managed to somehow pull themself up against what could be considered their place’s version of a lamp post. Once Envy figured out where they were and who was responsible for this humiliation, Envy was going to take great pleasure in tormenting the responsible party.
This train of thought was short lived as a figure in the distance started heading towards Envy’s direction. At first, Envy thought this was a good, small opponent to go up against before realizing the figure was getting bigger as the person got closer to Envy’s location. Whoever or whatever this person was, they were clearly past the nine feet height with something glowing bright floating above their head. It didn’t take long before Envy noticed what was coming and it shocked the homunculus down to their bitter core. Before Envy was someone from the same species as Dolly though much taller and both ears were erected as she glanced down below. Above the creature’s head was a crown engulfed in brightly colored fire with flecks of pink piercing through. The clothes were in tatters as though this creature had been in constant combate and clearly was the victor in each encounter as the clawed, webbed hand of the creature swept some of her plated hair aside. Envy held still as the ethereal murder machine spoke in a voice that demanded respect.
“I’ve been meaning to have a word with you for quite some time since you made your presence known to the one you call ‘Dolly’.” The creature said in this carefree tone as a laugh escaped from her throat.
“...What the hell are you?” Envy paused as they finally realized just how long their teeth had gotten by this blunder as the creature laughed a bit at the reaction.
“Well you’re certainly rude, I’ll give you that, but I will answer your question. I’ve always been around Gort, or as you know her, ‘Dolly’. I keep her safe, I get rid of things that threaten Gort’s safety, I monitor her daily interactions, I ensure every outcome Gort has, she survives it at any cost. I am the Queen Ability, Survive. We have met plenty of times in the past while you had Gort around you.” Survive introduced herself before noticing Envy had gone silent, processing everything that was given to them just now.
“I see you’re confused, I’ll clarify what I mean. I was created by Tir Na Nog itself to ensure that its last Queen escaped its death and continued survival onwards. I was there to jam the door when you had your carnage festival on that train, I was there when I made Freddy ask if you’re a serial killer to avoid having to end you myself, I was there on that hideous ride on the truck when the roof came off, and of course, I’m responsible for Dante’s unstable mental state. Though, I am sorry you did get caught in Dante’s breakdown, but you do understand I did what I did because she was a threat to Gort.” Survive explained as she lowered herself a bit to meet Envy's eye level with sharp teeth exposed in a grin.
“Did you also cause my inability to kill anyone as of late too!?” Envy demanded, anger was growing like a weed on their face.
“Alas, that wasn’t my doing, you subconsciously stopped killing on your own and even broke out of it on your own to kill the hideous dog man in the basement. You did save me from the efforts of killing that one, so you have my thanks for that one.” Survive smirked a bit at Envy as she needled them a bit.
“You’re here to mock my misery, aren’t you?” Envy hissed as they coiled a bit at the face to face close up.
“No, not at all, however, I am here to have a bit of a word with you now that I have this wonderful opportunity to do so, especially since Gort has bonded with you.” Survive started to lift Envy up and casually just hoisted the horrible little reptile over her shoulder blade.
“What exactly do you want to talk to me about?! How the hell did I even end up in this damned location in the first place!? WHERE AM I EXACTLY!?” Envy began their wriggling protest to no avail, much like a tantruming toddler up against their parent in a grocery store.
“Should’ve figured you’d whine about this, but you’re in a replication of Gort’s birthplace, the Autumn Mist District on Tir Na Nog, though Tir Na Nog had died all too long ago. However, that isn’t what I want to talk to you about, no, you know things already from that little book you got not too long ago.” Survive hummed a bit to herself as she continued the walk to that specific destination, scanning each home as she passed along with Envy in toll.
“That doesn’t answer how I ended up here!” Envy screeched as they stopped with the flailing and started to notice that despite being outside where it was cold, they felt like they were bundled up in a blanket for some reason.
“Fair, that is very fair my reptilian friend, let’s bring you inside to have a word on what events brought you here before me.” Survive went to open the doorway to this abstract home that looked like a cross between a mansion and a lighthouse.
“Are all Queen Abilities like you, rude and handsy?” Envy snorted, still puzzling a bit why they were still warm all over for no real reason.
“I wouldn’t describe myself rude per say, but no, I’m one of the two sapient Queen Abilities that are sapient. I know Calculate, Crom Cruach’s Queen Ability, was growing impatient with their charge’s little antics. I think you know Crom Crouch better as the Queen of the Summer Dusk though from that book I believe.” Survive finished fumbling a bit with the door before marching inside with Envy, plopping their ungrateful scaly hide upon a cushioned chair.
There was a sneer on Envy’s face as they gazed about the new area after being forcibly brought there. It felt like a place some dusty ass old sea dog would’ve been enjoying with model ships, various star maps from places Envy wasn’t familiar with at all, and paintings, lots of paintings. One painting in particular did catch Envy’s eyes for a bit as they stared at the piece. It was an odd painting as the figures in it were moving as though it were a colored picture film, a bunch of small creatures huddled in front of one massive creature that looked like a cross between a deer and an owl. It was a silvery creature with void like eyes that seemed to go on into infinity, an unnerving thing it was to view. Clearly the person who had painted it had more issues than Envy did as they redirected their view on the smaller creatures. Some of them did look human, though a bit uncanny at some points while the others looked like creatures from a fairytale. Finally, Envy’s eyes focused on one small creature that was all too familiar to them, a very young Dolly looking behind what Envy could assume was an older sister of sorts.

(trying to find the right poses)
What would you say are the preferred lightsaber forms of our dearly beloved disaster trio? (and also Mary and Shannon)
For me, I can see Beatrice switching between the elegance of Makashi and the unbreaking wall of Soresu (the little overachiever would of course be more than capable of using more than one form) (and that fight in chapter 2 of LB had total Soresu vibes from Bea).
And Ava, who is always so aware/absorbed/active in the Force, I can see leaning more into Niman to compensate between use of the force and the actual physical demands of the form. Or maybe Ataru, because of how she already automatically leans into the Force to enhance her natural movements, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for her to take it further in her lightsaber form (and also the little energizer bunny isn't exactly the type to stay contained. she totally has ketamine-gremlin-yoda vibes)
Lilith, I can see with Forms V or VII (or both, considering her proficiency with a blade). I can see her leaning into the physicality required for Shien/Djem So, as well as the practicality of it for both saber and blaster combat. But also Juyo, for the aggressive chaos and sheer strength of body, mind, and will it requires to sustain (and I cannot unsee the parallels between her and Maul).
What do you think?
oh you are wonderful for getting me thinking seriously about this. i trained in kendo for years as a kid, so usually i meld that and my karate to write (sword)fighting scenes, but this is giving me so much more to work with.
so, thinking on the lighsaber form of the star wars au cast:
Mary would definitely use form 5. probably both variations. she fought extensively during the Clone Wars & would have seen the value in a lightsaber form that prioritised deflecting blaster bolts over duelling.
she wouldn’t have gravitated towards Soresu, i think, because she is naturally more aggressive than that, and she wants options available to her for initiating conflict, as opposed to responding to it. Shien is excellent for fighting in battlefield conditions. like Soresu in its emphasis on deflecting blaster bolts, but also more assertive - often redirecting those bolts into other opponents, or environmental hazards.
the Djem So side of things she would be less, but still somewhat, practiced in. she'd see the value in aggressive close combat duelling tactics, but ultimately her preference is for Shien. Djem So is her go-to for fighting other lightsaber-users though, because it offers a solid set of options, but relies less on the kind of wild acrobatics that many other Jedi employ.
she is not so accomplished at Djem So as in Shien, mostly because she’s not a natural duelist, specialising in battlefield command, usually fighting among Republic Clone Troopers. Mary also, even before Order 66, carried and used a blaster in addition to her lightsaber.
Shannon: Soresu. Shannon is a very Obi-Wan Kenobi/ Luke Skywalker character. she’s dedicated to the beliefs of the Jedi - she is about balance, harmony, hence why she has a green saber - and Soresu exemplifies the Jedi philosophy.
it is also incredibly useful in a variety of situations (all about exposing minimal targets to the enemy, thinking of Luke practicing en-route to Alderaan); it’s resilliant and adaptable, and as a diplomat - probably one of the few Jedi who were called in to deal with complex scientific issues (read: the time when Shannon ended up in a star wars equivalent of the movie “Alien” along with Mary, back in their early days together) Shannon would have favoured Soresu as a defensive form.
she’s a self-sacrificial sort of person, too, and you can see Soresu in the way that she defends Ava from Crimson in chapter 1 (an echo of Obi-Wan in A New Hope). i think she almost took Niman after mastering form 1 back in her padawan days, but something (Mary) changed her mind about spending 10 years studying it.
Bea: oh! i definitely think that Bea is melding different forms together (certainly she’s borrowing aspects from her Jedi and her Sith training).
so yes, she uses Makashi on the Sith side of things (because it is Lilith who retrains her in the lightsaber after she is tortured; she has to adapt to her shattered elbow, which will always be weak. hence why Makashi - a (frequently) one-handed fighting style - is an ideal style for her to fall back).
i think she is trained in Soresu, but she had to abandon it - again, because of her injury - though she retains the tactical instincts of that style, despite adapting to a more aggressive outlook. Soresu requires too much dual-dexterity.
instead of Soresu, Bea picks up Ataru. the force-assisted acrobatics and the fluidity of it suit her perfectly - plus the aggression. she’s all about sliding through an opponent’s space, slipping past their guard, or simply coming at them from an angle they don’t expect. the combo of Makashi - THE duelling form - and Ataru would i think be Potent. both elegant, but Makashi playing into her calculating, strategic side - all about the footwork and controlling yourself AND your foe - plus the explosive power of Ataru and also its use of the Force, which, as we all know, Beatrice is incredibly powerful with. bringing out the blunt-force side of her fighting instincts. i think the ch 2 pit fight showcased her ability to balance aggression with manipulation, and also to come at her opponent with vicious speed and end the fight swiftly and efficiently (a hallmark of Ataru)
Lilith: you’re totally right. i think 100% Lilith would use form 7 - and Juyo specifically. she’s not trained in the same way as others, & i think was pretty swiftly thrown into battle after mastering form 1 and being taught elements of Makashi (which she later perfected, just because she could) but in her heart she’s a form 7 practitioner.
it requires both immense aggression, a level of viciousness, and also a focus on emotion and domination. i think from what we see of Lilith’s fighting style she is MUCH more brutal than Beatrice (her fight style resembles Kenpo karate)
Juyo is described in one of the novels as a form filled with “malignant grace” <- could we describe darling dearest Lil any better?? in ch. 2 her leaping attack really exemplifies the sudden volatility of form 7.
it also requires a lot of internalised Force energy, which, considering Lilith’s unique relationship with the Force (and her augmentation with magick) would be ideal for her. it also LOOKS messy, but it is, in fact, astonishing grace hidden inside of staccato movements. considering Some Plans i have, that would suit Lilith perfectly - yes, she seems like an untamed thing, but she is in fact as deft and calculated as Beatrice, and Juyo allows her to use her fury to her advantage, and also her overwhelming physical prowess, because she really IS probably the most physically adept out of all of them.
Ava: i think for Ava i spoke in ch 1 about her being absolutely angelic with the lightsaber, and also Ava knows physics. she loves acrobatics and she ADORES aerial acrobatics, specifically - particularly aviation and ship manoeuvers. she knows g-forces and how not to pass out while pitching and rolling in atmosphere.
so i think she is a pure Ataru practitioner. form 4, with its focus on acrobatics and dynamic movement, would appeal to her desire to move and to fly and to be rooted anywhere but into the ground. it is also incredibly offensive (a good echo of Ava’s ‘i’m more of a punch-first type girl’ comment). and it DOES emphasise the force, but specifically for movement.
i think Ava, depending a lot of Shannon’s incredibly Force-abilities, would lean into the more embodied side of the Force - speed, agility, and a no-holds-barred offence would absolutely suit Ava - though, of course, Ataru is really incredibly dependent on the practitioner’s strong connection to the Force, which early-star wars au Ava does not have.
but yes the quickness of it, the jumping and the almost phasing through space with Force-enhanced speed, all of it would suit Ava. i think, probably, she will have to adjust eventually to learn some techniques for dealing efficiently with blaster-bolts and projectiles. i think also there’s an extent to which Ava’s use of Ataru is tempered somewhat by her training in Soresu, from Shannon. i think she leaned into the beauty and the ferociousness of Ataru, but now that she doesn’t have her Master anymore there’ll be an element of melding those styles together, learning to protect herself because Shannon - who always, always protected her - has stood between Ava and her death for the last time.

Headcanon Theatre: Brawler Angeal
Hello, and welcome to a thing I’ve decided to give a name to; Headcanon Theatre. Why is it called that? Because I’m extra as fuck. Today will introduce the first of my many, many FFVII headcanons, which is also one of the tamer/less involved ones. (Trust me, they will get more intricate as we go along.)
So, Brawler Angeal. This is one I’ve gotten quite attached to recently, though I’ve had thought about it for a few years now. Basically, I think Angeal is more of a hand-to-hand combatant that only really uses swords when fists would be impractical, such as when fighting a guy with a ridiculously long nodachi. Why do I think this? Two (admittedly small) pieces of evidence.
First: this scene
Tumblr media
Second: Zack’s DMW/Limit Break, Rush Assault, which is the Limit Break associated with Angeal. Now, from a gameplay standpoint it’s supposed to mimic one of Tifa’s Limit Breaks, Beat Rush, but in universe we know that Zack is somehow copying Limit Breaks from the people he’s connected to (a source of it’s own headcanon). We know this because we see his Limit Breaks Octoslash and Apocalypse being used by Sephiroth and Genesis respectively in their boss fights, and Healing Wave and Meteor Shots are basically Aerith’s Healing Wind and Cloud’s Meteorain. So, it stands to reason that Rush Assault (or something very similar) is Angeal’s Limit Break, and from what I’ve seen of FFVII Limit Breaks they generally follow a theme involving the person’s fighting style and personality. Ergo, Angeal fights with his fists most of the time.
Now, why is Angeal so often using a sword in the game if he prefers hand-to-hand? Two possible reasons.
First reason; like I said above, there would be some combat situations where hand-to-hand would be impractical, like when fighting an opponent with a long reach. “But Dragon, Tifa fight’s opponents like that all the time.” Yeah, well 1.) Tifa usually isn’t fighting alone (at least in OG), and 2.) Tifa is much smaller than Angeal and can more easily dodge and get past people’s guards. Now
Second reason: Shinra want’s all it’s SOLDIERs to fit into a specific mold. Namely, swordsmen with very big swords. Oh, SOLDIERs will get some training in hand-to-hand, but they all need to have those nice swords for all the group shots. Plus swords leave a “less messy” corpse behind.
So, yeah. Angeal is a secret Brawler. And this could give a kinda backwards reason why Angeal carries Buster around with him at all times despite never using it. He felt so bad about his Dad spending all that money on a heavy duty sword when Angeal prefers hand-to-hand that he carries it around out of guilt, even though it would make way more sense to keep it in a display case if he really wanted to prevent wear, tear, and rust.
Oh... and it could also tie into that really obscure theory that the Remnants are supposed to represent Sephiroth, Genesis, and Angeal... I guess... (I’m sorry. It’s a cool theory, and it could make for some interesting fan fics, but I really do not think that was the developers intention when making any of these characters. Especially when it’s stated that Seph jettisoned most of his memories in order to keep himself from being absorbed into the Lifestream.)
Anyway, thank you for coming to my ted talk.

B, N and T for the ask game and with the Flash fandom :))
Yay!!! Thank you for the ask! (for my favorite fandom no less🥹) and sry I took a bit to get to this.
Time for my ✨silly little ramblings✨™️
B “A pairing-platonic, romantic or sexual-that you initially didn't consider, but someone changed your mind” : Ooooooo, this is a good one. Well I’m not a big shipper naturally tbh, unless I see undeniable chemistry and/or suggestive scenes between characters, I’m probably just going to ship what was canon— that was until I fully entered tumblr and related fandom spaces. Now I see ships everywhere. Especially with Ao3.
Ao3 has made me ship soooo many ships, the OG being Superarrow/Kariver
More recently tho: Coldflash (my current OTP), Snowest, Hartmon, and I personally prefer them as platonic but I definitely support them as a ship— Barrisco
Also as much as I hate to admit it— I understand Eobarry and why people ship it (One sidedly it’s basically canon) but I still do not like it and definitely don’t ship it. (Ok but how tf could it ever be two sided guys— it’s also creepy af) nvm I’m not jumping into that rabbit hole today.
N “Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice)” : Hmm— does more fanfiction count?💀 Ok ok, three things let’s seeeee
1: More merchandise. I finally have a STAR labs sweatshirt and it is one of my most treasured possessions— but I wish there was more options, I wish we could get Ciscos vibe glasses or smth like that (I know we can on ebay and stuff, but it’d be nice if the CW or WB put in merch effort) Ah. The pain of smaller fandoms (and I say this in relation to my other big fandoms being Star Wars and the MCU)
2: Less discourse/hate. I’ve calibrated my space here on tumblr to be on the positive side of the fandom but I remember when I couldn’t look at comment sections without seeing at least 10 hate comments (from other fans may I add). Idk maybe it’s not as bad now. I also notice this was primarily around the topic of shipping; specifically around Westallen vs Snowbarry, I saw some pretty bad stuff on both sides. Personally I just believe in ship and let ship. If you don’t like a ship then that’s fine; but don’t attack the people who do. But like I said; maybe it’s not as bad now. (Sry that was a long one lol)
3: M o r e w h u m p— including taking place in later seasons; 9x4 has so much potential and I really want someone to take advantage of it (I say, knowing full well that I could write it— I can’t though; The Bad Ending is taking up all of my writing time/energy)
Either way; whumpers I love you and I hope more of you find this fandom
T “Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?” :
*Rubs hand together* Oh do I— it’s ramble time
Now as a fanfiction writer, I have to have headcanons; it’s how I make the story and characters work while giving them extra depth. Naturally however; it’s not something I would usually think of outside of that. I have created the most fanfictions for this fandom by far (It was also the first media I ever wrote it for) so naturally I indeed have headcanons that will make their way into my fics.
Oliver trained Team Flash in hand to hand combat Now this one is less of a headcanon and more something I wish happened— cause where tf did they get their training from?? Maybe I’m missing/forgetting something and if so sry my bad— but this seems like something that absolutely could’ve happened. (I’m not counting superhero fight club as canon btw; as fun as it is)
Everyone goes to therapy
Gods this one is more wishful thinking than anything else— I’ll never forgive the CW for having Barry and Iris take couples therapy when what they both need is therapy therapy. The number of life threatening scenarios the entirety of Team Flash has gone through is more than enough to warrant therapy (and some form of PTSD but that’s a whole nother topic). The only possible exception I would make is Barry, because it would not surprise me at all if Joe had him go as a kid and the therapist didn’t believe him about the man in yellow just like everyone else; plenty of people have bad experiences with therapy that make them not want to go and that’s completely understandable.
Team Flash has movie night
You can’t look me in the eye and tell me they don’t.
Barry has claustrophobia
Nothing to support this really, but hey— that’s why it’s a headcanon
Also I have sexuality headcanons for most characters but I’ll do those another time.
Sweet! This was so fun and again; thank you for the ask!!! Sorry that it was so long but I had a lot of fun :-D

We all know Terry beats up beloved to "Teach them a lesson" but what if beloved has extreme ptsd of getting beaten up? Like they almost died because of it, will terry still continue beating them up or no?
Btw it's ok if your not comfortable writing it no need to pressure urself!!
(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ❤️
There's other ways of hurting people, you know?
Terry would understand that. Oh, Terry would've perfected that. Terry knows people are built from weakness. Weaknesses you can tap into, pin-point and exploit. Terry would know beating someone up is like the crudest and last resort type of move where flexing one's power is concerned --- and he would do it only when he's maddened, volatile, unhinged, particularly vengeful, power-hungry, desperate and the like. (I think the Stingray beatdown was a calculated move, rather than something down in a state of being affected or an impulse --- I think Terry concluded on the spot that Stingray really, truly would do anything to be in Cobra Kai, even falsely testify to his own abuse against John. That is why Terry smiles before actually beating him.) I think that, inherently, Terry prefers having either others hurting people for him while he pulls the strings like a mastermind behind the scenes, influence people into hurting themselves or psychologically messing with them. He's done all three to Daniel, for example. Notice how he's never actually personally hurt Daniel physically? He inflicted all of that trauma through tinkering with Daniel's brain and weaknesses.
He'd do something similar to beloved via mind-games.
Especially if actually getting physical with beloved might cause more damage than necessary --- every bit of damage needs to be calculated and measured, like a fine bit of recipe from a very precise cookbook of pain, punishment and discipline. I think he'd tactically loom the mere threat of physical harm and aggression over their head seeing as how it causes so much distress by default, just through mere exposure thanks to their PTSD --- something Terry would understand acutely first hand and by extension, know to exploit. Added factor is his mere profession, or rather, his side gig and passion and lifestyle pertaining being a Karate blackbelt Sensei; Combat is the centerfold of his life and always has been. Combat means some form of violence, no matter how measured and how controlled the dojo it happens in is. I think if beloved's sensitive enough, even just making them watch him train might get them deliberately triggered enough for Terry's tastes. And he’d have them watching him train.Have them prepare his gloves. His Gi. His equipment. Wipe off his sweat. He’d ensure they’re ever so slightly exposed to the mere reminder to the point well they will stay put.

Watch "VOLTES V: LEGACY - Ysabel Ortega, Miguel Tanfelix, and Matt Lozano's IMPRESSIVE action stunts!" on YouTube
youtube
This makes me so hyped.
Steve Armstrong - While the dependence on using only a gun is a bit obnoxious in this test shot, it demonstrates respect to the source material. Also, in other promotional materials they briefly show scenes of Miguel Tanfelix engaging in hand-to-hand combat, so I'm satisfied.
Jamie Robinson - I'm so freaking pleased with this casting. Based on the source material, Jamie should be the most skilled fighter of the 5 pilots. The fact that Ysabel Ortega underwent rigorous training in both kickboxing and muay thai after being casted for this project demonstrates earnest respect for the role. Her hard work is paying off as she gives the impression that she's been working on martial arts films prior to getting this role. I'm interested in how they intend to justify her skills in the adaption.
Robert Armstrong - I'm so happy that they're already demonstrating that Big Bert knows some form of martial arts as in the source material, he's a skilled in various forms of martial arts. I don't Matt Lozano's skills really shine in this test shot but, in the behind the scenes stuff he's posted to Instagram, he seems to have really improved his arnis technique. Personally, I recall him more as a sword user, but materials seem to state that the staff is supposed to be his preferred weapon. I do hope they keep scenes of him practicing or mentoring sword fighting with Steve as technically Steve is the one who is charge of wielding the Voltes V's sword in combat.
Mark Gordon - Not depicted. I'm expecting his whole rodeo background to be completely rewritten and that his beloved horse Eiffle to be written out. It's disappointing, but horses are expensive to maintain on a set. I hope that this doesn't mean that his skills are reduced to boxing. I enjoyed that he was quick to start fisticuffs fights with Steve, but him being skilled with the whip and lasso really did help him stand out from other mech pilots.
John Armstrong - Not depicted. Honestly, if he has no little to no training in martial arts, it'll be fine. But I do hope they maintain him having special interests in naval tech and/or marine sciences. If he's still a talented diver or swimmer, I'll be very pleased. I actually liked his Tako-chan, compared to most other childish mascot minibots from other mech shows, but I'm doubtful that it would translate well to live action.

((I think I could go for a bit more TV World centered threads or a bit of combat. I personally don't think I'm too great at writing fight scenes so it would be good to practice. The former case would be easier to jump into since Teddie goes back to his world often but writing combat would need more of a reason since Teddie isn't too interested in training or sparring most of the time and prefers to talk to people instead of fighting them.))
