Catching up on the whole watcher situation because I ironically stopped watching their channel regularly because I didn’t like how expensively produced their shows were compared to Buzzfeed Unsolved’s simplicity

#i didn’t have a problem with them changing the way they did things or anything #like it made sense that they would want to have a significant departure from their Buzzfeed style after leaving Buzzfeed #i just didn’t like it as much #so i would only watch occasionally if i needed something to listen to in the background #the fact that they are now trying to put their content behind a paywall #because production is so expensive #is wild to me #like imo the production actively made the show less enjoyable #why are you spending money you don’t have on it??? #idk it just makes me sad #like i know the YouTube documentarians i watch are probably going to end up doing videos on this #usually with those videos i’m the one from the outside looking in on some drama around a person i’ve never heard about before #but i was a fan of ryan and shane since high school #I have some of their Buzzfeed unsolved merch #it’s sad that people i looked up to turned out to be so out of touch on so many levels #watcher

my gma told me that my mom used to wake up, eat breakfast, then study for 12 hours straight. every fuckin day. and my gpa would bring her food and tell her to take breaks bc of how immersed she was. she’s literally my role model forever

#I want to be on that level of sheer focus/passion w everything I do #this is what I remind myself of whenever I’m lazy or I don’t feel like putting in the hours. like my mon did THAT every day #I rly am intrinsically motivated bc of her and she also showed me that you truly can love science even in a broken education system #ofc being raised in her image did predispose me to science but I’m also so grateful it’s an organic love #and that I’m not doing it for something as dumb as prestige or money. like I genuinely adore it #and I was never raised in a gIrL MaTh household like my mom made it clear math was very fun to me since I was like 2 #and I think that influenced my confidence in pursuing stem/medicine bc I grew up watching my mom solve differential equations for fun #I also love how suffused she was in her studies. that must’ve felt so rewarding. I don’t think y’all understand. Kinnporsche was by no means cheap to make and for a new company mostly fueled by a couple of men who has a lot of money it took a toll on how much money they had left. The tour was created to get the word of Kinnporsche out and to promote the show and the entertainment company. BOC is essentially a start up company who are just entering the industry so with the money they made with kinnporsche it will be more responsible to make 3 different shows with the allotted money that genres can reach different audiences and increase sponsorship than to put all of their money in one season of kinnporsche. As a finance major it’s nothing short of brilliant. He said that they were in the negatives doing the tour which makes inviting people like Disney, HBO, Maybelliene etc great because The Bakery show could be catered to a Disney audience while 4 minutes could be catered to a HBO Max audience and effectively gaining sponsorship from both and better than just one. We have to give new genres a chance, kp will always be there but I have never seen a Thailand period drama stand strong against other period dramas like China or Korea. Their main goal is to promote Thailand to the world and through partnering with international producers, they’ll achieve it. Just wait a little longer.
