re: the recent twoset video— pls ignore and dont read under the cut if u dont want any spoilers!

content warnings: mentions of suicide, homophobia, and racism. also— this is a LONG post.

ok so like i got a little worried at first because they imitated the try g*ys set up in the beginning which couldve gone really wrong because the try g*ys handled that situation REALLY WELL and im sick of seeing them be shamed or made fun of for it (SNL skit and NYT article) but it really delved into the hate THEY faced after dropping sell out and a bunch of the comments and DMs they showed were really hateful (some of them were homophobic, others telling them to kill themselves, and there were some that were racist which was really weird bc the groups they support r asian too??? so idk i dont really get those ones) and it’s honestly really clear that thats not even the worst of the hate they received… its just really sad and messed up.

i didnt expect that twoset would address the issue again after the ll40hrs episode we got a day or two ago, but im really glad they did. its oftentimes that overly obsessed fandoms (not just kp0p, tho those fandoms r definitely the more well known ones) can get really really hateful, and in the process they cross a lot of lines and are unapologetic about it. no matter how you twist it, nothing gratifies you with the right to tell others to kill themselves, or to threaten their families. you dont get to call others faggots, and you dont get to make fun of others because of how they look or their race. no one deserves that kind of fear or tasteless hate, no matter what they’ve done. you cant justify that sort of behavior— if who you’re “standing up for” believes that sort of behavior is okay, then a) their morals are WAY out of place, and b) maybe you shouldn’t be standing up for someone who thinks its okay to tell others to off themselves (not saying that bp or anyone condones their fans behavior, just saying that as a fact in general). im nearly 100% sure that whoever ur standing up for would think it to be disgusting and disappointing to know that their supporters are the types of people to wish bodily and mental harm onto others for reasons that aren’t justifiable.

i know for a fact that the people who do these types of things r a minority of the fandom, at least in most cases. it’s just that that minority is so loud that the normal parts of the fandom get drowned out, but its the fact that that minority can be heard and can be/is harmful to others that’s really messed up. i know that not all kp0p fans are as bad as these ones, and i’m friends with a lot of kp0p stans and i know for a fact that they would shame this behavior, but the way that the loud minority has decided to act and continues to act has completely tarnished the name of being a kp0p stan. i know it’s like a “joke” to say stuff like “oh you cant say that, the stans will come for you!” but the thing is that it’s not a joke. you really have to be careful of what u say or else those “stans,” that small but vocal minority will literally come for you.

it’s just so disheartening to see this behavior repeated again and again. you dont know this person’s situation, and you don’t know what they’re going through. being told to kill themselves could totally just be someone’s last straw, and the people who perpetuated that might just celebrate that they got rid of another hater. that type of behavior isn’t normal, and the fact that it’s gone on for so many years atp despite being called out is just so… i don’t know how to describe it.

like— if the tables were turned, and it was the group you’re stanning who was getting harassed by deranged fans, if they were being told to kill themselves, or if they were being called slurs that didn’t apply to them, or if they were being made fun of for the look of their eyes and the way they speak english, that behavior would be just as bad as the behavior that is constantly displayed against twoset and other people for jokes that are made, because it’s literally the same exact thing. if you wouldn’t do it to your faves, then don’t do it to anyone else. no matter if you care about them kr not, that behavior is disgusting and inexcusable in any situation.

going back to the OG video— i hope twoset is okay. they handled the situation really well, i think, and while it doesn’t really seem as though the comments and DMs got to them as much, i still really hope that theyre okay and that they know they’ve got people who love and care about them. i also can’t really imagine my best friend saying all those hurtful things to me, even if i know it’s fake. personally, thats just me and im honestly like— super sensitive (lol) but i also hope that brett and eddy filmed that, then went out and got lots of bubble tea and fried chicken together and just reminded each other abt how much they care and that in any real situation, nothing could come to them calling those each other those things irl (whether that would be a verbal or non verbal confirmation is up to u).

anyway, thats all for this long post lmao.. cheers to twoset and once again im SUPER PROUD of their 4mil stream (deffo not over it at ALL!) and just them in general. i’ve been following them for a few years ish now and just seeing how far theyve come is so 🥹🥹🥹 i hope they continue to make me smile and laugh with many new videos and projects to come. :)

Primary Sorting Help?

I saw your post about burned primaries and I was wondering if you could help me sort myself?

Snake, I don't think I'm lonely. I have people that I care about and that care about me. Sometimes I feel sad cause I don't think any of them are close enough that I would tell them anything in a real crisis, but I don’t think I crave that human connection the way a Snake would. I'm good right now, and if I'm in trouble I'll figure it out.

I'm assuming you've considered unburned Snake, or you have some reason to think you're a Burned House right out of the gate... if so, it sounds good so far.

Bird, I have a couple of my beliefs that are conflicting, but in sorting through them and I think I'll be okay. They don't seem to be giving me an identity crisis.

That *can* be a Bird reaction. Birds don't necessarily Burn from encountering problems with our system, as long as we have the confidence that we can sort through them eventually. Reading through the rest of this, though, I don't think you're a Bird.

What really made me distressed and I think may have led to me burning was losing the feeling that the world is good or that anything I or anyone could do would ever actually make a difference. I've kind of mostly pulled myself from that hopeless depressive cycle tho. I'm more cynical because of it, but I survived.

Okay, we're getting to why you think you might be a Burned House. It sounds like you've recovered at least partway, though; that's good! And it'll make Sorting you a bit easier.

This does sound a lot like a Badger kind of crisis, though. Maybe Lion. I have a fictional Badger in one of my novels that goes through this.

Badger and Lion resonate with me the most. Badger, I've never felt that I had to care about everyone. I think it's important but the circle of suffering doesn't bother me too much, unless I see someone suffering right in front of me. I dont feel that guilt for not helping people in lets say Haiti, in the way a burned Puff would seem to. That may be a stereotype tho.

Haiti is a bit of an extreme example, because a) unless you're *in* Haiti, the people there are going to feel pretty distant from you, and the person in need right in front of you is always going to feel more compelling; b) everywhere has its own problems and people who need help; and c) you have a limited amount of resources to care about stuff.

Morally, a Badger would agree that of course Haitian folks are just as valuable as people anywhere else--but they don't HAVE to take personal responsibility over every bad situation another human is in.

Burned Puffs are especially likely to cut themselves off from caring about anyone not in their pared-down community. They probably feel bad for other people in their immediate vicinity, especially if they have to harm them somehow in order to keep their community safe, but they're pretty distant from caring about bad situations in places far away.

I feel incredibly guilty for all the moments when I didnt help people or the moments where I did/said some really screwed up things. Those memories tend to come back occasionally, which sucks.

Ugh, same. I think regretting things we did/said that might have hurt people is a pretty universal experience.

Regretting missed opportunities to help people might be more specific and relevant, though; I don't think everybody does that.

Lion, I admire people who can just feel what's right. But that also sounds incredibly like, "I know this is right, so you're wrong." I also really hate the fact that Lions are the ones willing to drop people because of their beliefs. No, you only drop people if their actions have proved that they're "bad" people. (No one person is bad or good, all people are both) Like if they hurt people, I don't want to be their friend.

Yeah, this is really Badger. You're starting to show some external primary signs, and it sounds like you're saying that you only cut people off if they hurt others, which suggests that you're loyal to everyone by default. This is a very telling piece.

For the record, Lions can draw their line of "this is the limit where I'm not willing to be friends with you now" in a whole bunch of different places. But I don't think that's you.

My core beliefs I guess are forgiveness, not judging people, and acceptance. I'm a sucky human and I know you're human and you suck sometimes too, and most of the time you don't mean it and even if you do you deserve forgiveness because I know people make mistakes. Also for my own piece of mind cause I know people who were obsessed with grudges and I don't want to be them.

Keeping that Badger streak going...

The acceptance part, I have some odd interests and am just kind of quirky so I'm going to try my very best to accept you for who you are. This kind of ties into the not judging people. Everyone has weird bits and no one deserves to be bullied or hurt for them. I've made mistakes so have no right to judge yours.

I try my best to give people a clean slate, but sometimes stereotypes do get in the way. This is going to sound so stuck up and just condescending, but as a child I wanted to be a defender of those who need it. I know, I don't know what the heck I was thinking. I'm only human after all. I can see where Lion feels relatable to you, but you really do seem like a loyalist and an external primary, and based on this submission I think Badger is a better fit.

reading through ur blog and a fully formed azula and sokka being in college and doing model un alternative universe sprung fully formed in my head he would be genuinely interested in the UN/international politics she would thrive off the rabid toxic competitiveness azula hates sokka b/c he's just slightly bttr than her they bond when he defends her at a conference from some deeply racist/sexist men in her bloc and ends up missing out on an award bc of it i dont think this au is valid but..here!

okay love this. azula is shrewd, but she is also ignorant. sokka knows this and he operates on the philosophy that he should only ever collaborate with her if he is able to accept the possibility that she might entirely botch the task and hurt his reputation. if he can’t handle the possibility of a failure, he does not approach her at all. that said, there are infrequent instances when her scorched-earth approach has value; in those cases, he happily recruits her and then just watches the metaphorical carnage. so he doesn’t hate her. he thinks she’s weird and uninformed and he lowkey suspects she has a dartboard with his face on it. but he’s also deduced that she comes from a really fucked up family and she’s obviously coping as best she can.

this is all to set the stage for the fact that, when azula gets into arguments, which is often, sokka does not come to her rescue. he has no reason to, and she wouldn’t expect him to. (although one time he told her “nice work” after she delivered an uncharacteristically elegant speech and the look of gratification in her eyes scared the shit out of him.) when azula gets into all-out brawls, sokka does not come to her rescue. he knows she can hold her own. she also would never forgive him if he made her appear weak in the eyes of any competitors.

but there’s an occasion when he sees her gradually losing her cool while talking to a handful of guys who gave him a bad vibe, and he just chimes in, “she’s going to kick your asses.” and then he’s on his way.

he would never go so far as to guess whether or not azula appreciated the intervention–he finds her impossible to read, and the looks in her eyes kinda freak him out–but the next day she’s back to throwing a small tantrum because sokka dared to wear a shirt with a stain on it on the caucus floor. so he assumes she’s fine.

How do you hope the castlevania show handles the other games?? it seems like they arent gonna be following curse of darkness well ...

Yeah! It does seem like theyre gonna take their own direction… i suspect Dracula might still be revived by the end of it but it definitely seems like theyre trying to be smart and not have Dracula be the main villain/end villain every season which makes sense, as to viewers it can seem tiring.

Im hoping even if they scrap most of CoD’s story,, we still get a few story beats like

Trevor and Hector meeting–perhaps even fighting–but teaming up in the end (And thus sypha and probs alucard too!!). pls i NEED them to met my son

isaac and trevor fiiiight. hopefully with the same amount of gay.

JULIA! Personally, im hoping they scrap Rosalee altogether bc she basically existed to die and be man pain so im hoping Julia will sorta be a mix of Rosalee and Julia–i.e. still a witch and isaac’s sister, but also being hector’s saviour in a way.

speaking of, even if she isnt isaacs sister, JULIA BETTER NOT BE FUCKING WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!! like thats such a cop out if they do, to make her brother black but not her?? she better be black and awesome and heroic and save hector’s ass from carmilla, im just saying. also her and sypha NEED to bond.

i hope we get more backstory on everyone as well

ALSO DEATH!! even if its as Zead, id love for Death to show up. Maybe even be the reason for Dracula’s later cycle of ressurection. seriously, where is he? where is Dracula’s BFF and Best Bro Ever??????

as for the other games… I suspect they might ignore a few of em, but the main ones i’d like to see are, roughly in order:

Okay first of all, I kinda DONT want a Lament of Innocence game. I actually dont rly care for it, i think a lot of the story ideas are really dumb, Leon is lame…. etc. However he is already established in the show, so if they DO touch on his game i want either a: there to be a shit ton of focus on Joachim bc hes the best character and also less Wife Death and better focus on Mathias

or b: it to have all of those things and also be a B plot told in flashbacks and not the whole season, particularly in:

Simon’s Games! Simon has NO supporting cast, its just him and Drac really, so having the B plot saves them a lot of time making up a ton of things wholesale tbh… that said, id lvoe to see a Simon based on Kojima’s art, with a personality that isnt too much like Trevor or Richter’s… Id also love for them to do Simon’s Quest too, because while it isnt a well liked game, it would be the PERFECT drama.

Like okay, I imagine it like this: We have this man, whose family is still not well liked by the people of Wallachia and who still have a bad wrap of being associated with evil and dark magic… hes been raised basically his whole life to fight monsters and especially Dracula.

and he eventually does it and earns respect from the people who once hated him. Hes not sure how to handle this, since now his main purpose for living is over, but he tries his best… only for the back wound he recieved from dracula to cause him pain, almost like its not healing, and suddenly people are weary of him again as it becomes clear over time that the wound is cursed, that hes dying–or perhaps, worse, becoming some sort of creature of the night (maybe hes turning into a zombie, falling apart, or showing traits of vampires or werewolves or who knows).

One way or another he finds out he has to revive Dracula and kill him again to save himself fromt he curse. But that goes against everything he wants, to risk bringing Dracula back into the world–but is other option is to die painfully and risk becoming a creature of the night. All while trying to keep the unsteady trust he’s made with the people of Wallachia… basically, its very good drama that is a good break from having a Looming Big Bad!!

plus, i can imagine the final fight between them could be very interesting–both are weak, Simon from dying of the curse and Dracula from just being revived, so the fight isnt just about brute strength, especially as the longer it goes on, the weaker Simon gets but the strong Dracula gets as he readjusts to his new form.

Juste’s on the other hand would be a more straight forward jaunt through the castle with monsters, with the twist being it’s his friend possessed by Dracula and all. Id LOOOVE for there to be focus on Maxim, Lydie, and Juste’s trio as well as talk about Juste being the most magic-based Belmont and what that means for them, as well as their much cozier place in the society that once rejected their family, and especially for what that means for White Haired, Magic Juste.

Basically all I need from this part is good character writing for the three of them, but esp Maxim and Juste… Lydie wont be too hard bc she has like no personality in the games lol… give her one please.

After that, theres of course Rondo of Blood and SotN. For the first one, I figure they can probably be pretty straight forward: Richters gotta fight Dracula, rescue some people, he meets a nice girl named Maria who helps him, etc… most of it will come fron the strength of Maria and Richters writing but theres bound to be some really cool action scenes with Richter and his skills and powers, but maria too!

However, Id LOOOOVE for there to be more focus on Richter during his possession at some point, and his struggles with that!!! Also, Cameo from Juste his dad/grandpa pleaaase.

As for Alucard and Maria… I hope they age up Maria a bit bc while Alucard is forever like, 18, itll nudge any romance that may happen between them outta an area of “Is This Weird?”. Anyways from there you get the usual Tepes Family Drama from Alucard having to kill his dad AGAIN and the Succubus as his mom oooo that good drama…

but I hope we get really good Maria characterization and stuff from her, like!! Please. Im also wanting her to not be white bc we NEED heroic characters of colour pls…..

I really hope they cover Order of Ecclesia bc Shanoa is great. I dont have much to say there tbh…. Idk if theyll do Bloodlines or Portrait of Ruin but there also a good way to break up the formula. Id also die if they made Sonia canon again….

Finally, i’d say the Sorrow series are the best ones to end the show on… I mean, on top of being the latest in the timeline–which means they can also do some neat stuff with modern or future tech–it also creates the best way to wrap up the series. Like, its a great way to say good bye to everyone, but especially to wrap up the Alucard and Dracula plot via Genya and Soma.

I dont have too much to say here, other than I thin they could do some really good stuff by building up on whats already established in the show esp with Alucard and his Dad and then contrasting it with how they write Soma.

Plus, Soma’s powers could make for some REALLY REALLY awesome fight scenes!!

hi hi im Bikki and i hate introducing myself cause i never know what to say lmao. im a pretty big loser with a big heart and an unhealthy obsession with anything dog related cause dogs are everything („ಡωಡ„)

2. How and when did you become a CHOICE?

ive started to get into kpop fairly 'late' (in 2016) and by the time undercover dropped a year later i was still quite confused and overwhelmed but i remember i really liked the song (and could not for the life of me tell bk and sehyoon apart in that MV wtf @ 2017 me LOL). fast forward to 2020 when favourite boys hit me like a truck and honestly it all is kind of a blur afterwards lmao. the aes of the MV had me fall in love with them instantly and i think i watched a bunch of 'funny moments' vids and stuff and it all spiraled from there

this fandom mirrors the boys' crackhead energy like i have yet to meet a choice who isnt just as weird as the fools themselves and i absolutely love it (◡‿◡)

i really cant say. i like each song for very different reasons. i love Stand By You for its soft yet melancholic vibes. i love Golden Goose cause their performance on theshow killed me. id literally go feral listening to Hell if they finally. give us. a studio version. :) :) :)

my bebi Byeongkwan for sure eventho i also feel very drawn to Sehyoon cause we are pretty similar personality wise (i say as i dont really know him at all lmao). but best boi BK will put me into simp mode in -0.34 secs. i cant really say why i just love this gorgeous lil firecracker (ಥ◡ಥ) and im obsessed with ppl calling him fairy it literally makes me flatline cause yes yall are so right.....

but really, im a huge simp for them all (yes... even jun eventho it makes me gag to admit it LMAO)

6. What is your favourite thing about A.C.E?

how they play (and fuck) with gender norms and try out so many different things, esp style-wise. to me, it is such an aesthetically pleasing group(point proven with the siren teasers id say). i also love how natural they seem. like they dont bother about upholding a fake image. i esp get that feeling of 'just 5 dudes being friends' which i love so dearly during their vlives - its so refreshing and fills my heart so much

How do you even stop a black hole though? I mean, there’s like real world theories and shit but fuck real world. I already have sort of a theory. If they use The Tumor. Or, a tumor. I forget if that was a beta kids exclusive though, so really who knows if that’s even possible. But supposedly, the tumor has the capability to destroy the sun, so maybe if they could get some other tumor it could destroy the hole.

Well yeah, there was nothing you could ever do to prevent the worst thing possible from happening, that’s sort of a running theme in homestuck. You just kinda gotta. Find a loophole around the consequences.

like i said in one of my posts on the matter, sometimes it’s not “making” someone else to help, but sometimes that someone else cares about the person or the matter at hand and actually wants to help them….u know…..

okay i was trying to be chill and vague but whatever idc let’s get into it lol so esp. with the 2x09 scene everyone’s like oh magnus was visibly annoyed and didn’t want them there bc he hates them but like chill if you look at it for 2 seconds you can see his annoyance phase out to concern literally the second he realizes that there’s actually something wrong bc….he cares about clary…..(and like more importantly in the narrative of that episode, clary and jace do solve the problem themselves. like, magnus was basically like ‘yeah idk man fix it yourselves’ and nobody was like ‘oh magnus how dare you not help us’? lmao?)

and with luke in 1x06 everyone’s always like oh man magnus and downworlders he protectes them and #g//arrobane and all that jazz…and then suddenly it’s magnus saving luke only as a favour to clary and for no other reason lol? like magnus is capable of, like, making decisions and having his own personal motivations to do things you know lol to me it’s weird that people just strip down his personal stake and motivation in so many of the plots because they want to bolster this weird narrative tbh…..honestly im just addressing the examples you named but for a number of them these are at least somewhat the case (some but not all obviously)

and like…yeah…should she/they say thank you every once in a while? of course they should lol. politeness is a good thing lmao and magnus helps them out a ton and he deserves appreciation not saying he doesn’t (and not saying it’s got nothing to do with shadowhunter superiority pls read the linked post). like i said before it’s not just one thing or the other but people just view it as one extreme or the other, and also o f note i elaborated on how niceties like that between established good people™ are usually not included bc they’re seen an extraneous unless serving a higher purpose (also that post includes some stuff about magnus and his relationship with the protags which also is maybe important lol idk)

magnus is an extremely good person lol and like i said in that post i made that i just linked it is definitely complicated and definitely is sometimes informed by shadowhunter/downworlder dynamics and people have taken advantage of him and his magnanimity so it’s not like it’s a non-issue but…. lord people need to chill sometimes tbh

and finally the whole 2x09 thing with madzie…….honestly i agree with people about that. because it comes across as though they only cared about the fate of this little girl once it started posing a threat to their own well-being. but i’m going to maybe posit an argument that i don’t often consider, which is just….that maybe that was an instance of bad writing. bc, my guy, everyone was at the party, everyone knows (including magnus, high warlock who protects his kind, and alec who were also just chillaxing before clary and jace came in) the issue with madzie, so honestly it was just a dumb choice to put that lull in between the end of 2x08 and the start of the save-madzie plot in 2x09 because it makes everyone come across as selfish, clary most of all. like i guess you could argue that i shouldn’t make the excuse of the writers and just take it at face value, so i’ll agree that taken at face value it was a dick move by clary specifically, since iris was talking to clary and it’s her blood oath, so the onus was largely on her. but it just doesn’t come across as a deliberate dick move like clary’s other dick moves, which are in order to establish her flaws, but more of as a writing oversight. to me at least. but that’s up to interpretation. like i keep saying, i’m never gonna argue that she’s perfect b/c she is far from

and then there’s the whole white saviour thing which i think - as usual lol - that this is complicated but overall holds probably less water than most ppl interpret it largely b/c of the function of the white saviour trope for the white people who consume it and also the way that the SH narrative is structured around clary in terms of other literary trope as well so that the common interpretation ppl have is kind of oversimplified and also how the quasi-racial tension in SH isn’t the main thrust of the narrative or clary’s motivation, b/c the narrative is largely very personal for clary as well outside of downworlder/shadowhunter dynamics and etc etc etc. like i said im not completely refuting the assertion that it plays into white saviourish trope but it’s….quite complex - in my view, at least, but what do i know lol im gross and ignorant apparently - and these are by no means my complete thoughts but lord jesus i really dont care enough to write an essay lmao it’s just sort of annoying when one person says something and then everyone echoes it and no one knows what it means tbh
