#It is also very funny to say ''yeah this canonically male character. I think he is trans. By that I mean if you asked he'd say he's a girl''

Dimentio is the character of all time to me. I see a design that is entirely covered head to toe in fabric with a mask on top and I go aha you want complete control over how other people perceive you!
I don't think he'd be all that familiar with the concept of being trans, and that it'd be unlikely that anyone would bring it up to him directly during the events of the game. This is what convoluted post-canon AUs that I have yet to meaningfully illustrate are for!
He is so focused on how he appears to other people that he'd fail to recognize what he wants from it (beyond just having that control) even if it would be extremely obvious if he were to ever verbalize it.
Anyway silly joke images upon you all:

I’m probably going to be crucified for saying this but. I have problems with Percabeth. Don't get me wrong I definitely don't hate it and I do enjoy certain Percabeth fics but the largely canon and canon portrayals of it are. Well. Not good.
First of all, there’s the issue that pops up whenever a smart female character is in a relationship with a ‘dumb’ male character. They get dumbed down into being an idiot. This is especially true about Percabeth.
Percy is smart.
Let me repeat that. PERCY IS SMART.
Is he book smart? No. But we all should know that book smart is far from the only smart. But it’s the kind of smart that Annabeth is. She knows trivia. She knows mythology.
Percy? He’s smart in the he picks things up quickly sort of way. Exhibit A: He figured out that the casino was time warping and he not only broke out of it, but was responsible for Annabeth and subsequently Grover breaking out of it. There was absolutely no way Annabeth would have broken out on her own. Exhibit B: That boat scene in SoM where he figured out how to use the wind spirit things to speed them up. Exhibit C, he was one of the first ppl to realise Silena was a traitor. There are probably many more examples but these are just the ones I can think of from the top of my head.
(Also I think he was the one who tricked Crusty and freed the other 2 in TLT)
My second problem is the judo flip scene. Everyone always says it's romantic but fellas. Is it romantic to physically adult your partner after you see them for the first time in months? Onto their back where they have their mortal weakened that could easily kill them? (BC Annabeth couldn't have known the Achilles Curse was gone). We all know that if the roles were reversed, Percy would have been dragged to hell and back for it.
My third major problem is that Annabeth insults him. In the first book, I can give it a pass. Maybe even in the second book. But tell me why in HoH or BOO (I can't remember) Reyna complimented Percy on escaping Tartarus and Annabeth but in like ‘He had help’. Yes. He did. I understand that Percy couldn't have escaped without Annabeth. But let him have the compliment! Maybe even idk. Appreciate him? BC that's what normal couples do? Ik if it was me and my QPR spouses in that situation I would have jumped at the chance to complement and gush abt them. And Reyna responded with ‘True. He couldn't find his way out of a paper bag without you.’ ???
Reyna sweetie, this is your co-praetor!!! Percy made it to camp Jupiter without Annabeth! He can survive on his own just fine! He was also the war commander during TLO despite being barely 16!
Back to the situation at hand, the very least she could have done was stay quiet. And before you say ‘Oh it was a joke’ Percy was clearly unhappy and protested the claim. BC he’s not dumb despite almost everyone in his life acting like it.
The last thing I want to discuss rn is how Annabeth accidentally fed into his suicidal tendancies. Yeah I’m bringing up the Kym incident. Percy literally told Jason he could have controlled the poison and saved himself but didn't BC he thought it was the Fates punishing him for Akhlys. But that wasn't really her fault, though I'm still going to bring it up.
I want to end on a positive note so 2 Percabeth moments that actually make me smile. In TLT during the gateway arch bit, Percy finds the idea of Annabeth being an architect funny and she snaps a comment abt his dad. Percy asks if Athena and Posiden ever collaborated on anything and Annabeth tentatively offers the chariot. It was sweet and actually showed the two’s relationship warming up to something less hostile. Later during the Zebra chapter Annabeth tells Percy that she would fight by him BC he’s her friend, no matter what side Athena chooses. Some great moments.
(Also I like that Annabeth didn't hold it against Percy for forgetting their 1 month anniversary. She actually understands that he has a lot on his mind and that he just fought a war)
(Also I could bring up BotL but I won't BC I have other stuff to do and also I haven't read it recently enough like TLT which I skimmed today during a seminar BC I didn't have my sketchbook but my best friend had brought the copy I lent her and wasn't using it)

Welcome to another round of W2 Tells You What You Should See, where W2 (me) tries to sell you (you) on something you should be watching. Today's choice: 成化十四年/The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty
Tumblr media
(The) Sleuth of (the) Ming Dynasty (it's hard to get an agreement on how many definite articles should go where) is a beautiful, high-budget 2020 drama about a weenie genius detective, his long-suffering and deeply traumatized sugar daddy, and the eunuch with the most difficult job in the Great Ming: keeping these two dumbasses from getting their fool selves imperially executed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Depending on how you like it, it's either an OT3 or an OTP with an intense, underage third wheel, and either way, it's delightful. I wouldn't call it a comedy, but it has very many funny elements that keep the drama fun and engaging. The first half is full of shorter mysteries that are clever and thoughtfully plotted, and the second half goes in on the longer mystery that ties them all together.
I've already done my quick guide to the early-episode characters, if you want a taste of just how many people are running around and how wonderful they all are. But in case you want to know a little bit more before you commit yourself to a 48-episode series, here's five reasons I think you should watch it!
1. The whole thing smacks of gender
Yeah, this was originally going to be selling point #2, but I know what the people want.
This is not a show about gender. But boy it is a show that has a lot to say about gender, and not just by way of critiquing premodern Chinese gender roles (though it does do that!). Many of the cis characters are either a) somewhat gender nonconforming, b) canny enough to weaponize binary gender expectations, or c) both. Sui Zhou's entire third-act storyline is about how expectations of masculinity exacerbate PTSD in veterans. Three different AFAB characters either dress or live as men. The part where one of the male characters goes undercover in drag is played for laughs, but the joke isn't 'ha ha, a boy in a dress,' it's 'ha ha, this particular boy in a particular dress, and also he's terrible at it.'
And that's even before we get to the eunuchs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are several professionally dickless, permanently unmanned characters running around. One-third of the OT3 canonically had his external genitalia nonconsensually removed when he was five years old, and because of this, he has been given unimaginable authority. He's basically the second most powerful man in the entire empire, and he only gets that way by being unquestionably, ostentatiously, and genuinely submissive to the first most powerful man.
I have seen other Chinese media where eunuchs are treated like sinister clowns, good only to be the bad guys and the butts of jokes. Sleuth's main eunuchs are real and complex characters, and because of this, the show gets to explore what it is to live in this weird third-gender category of incredible power and powerlessness.
Tumblr media
Now, don't go into this expecting woke gender treatises. Wang Zhi's never going to sit down and go, "You know, my friend and fellow eunuch Ding Rong, because of my lack of a penis, I understand my relationship to masculinity differently than other men do." But the show understands that even if he doesn't say it, it's true. And that makes a lot of the characters and their relationships just so much more interesting.
2. Uncle Jackie Money
Sleuth was the was the fourth c-drama I dove into, following the Untamed, Word of Honor, and Guardian -- or, Some Money BL, Less Money BL, and No Money BL. So imagine my absolute wall-eyed shock to find this was All The Money BL, courtesy of its executive producer, Jackie Chan (seen here with some of his handsome boys):
Tumblr media
Sleuth looks good. The costumes are amazing. The sets are stunning. The cinematography is beautiful. Everything is so detailed, and while I can't speak to the absolute historical accuracy of all those details (see point 3), they're still gorgeous. In fact, you know what? I'm going to shut up and show you some of the promotional images.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(For actual screenshots, I'm just going to point you at @rongzhi's tsomd photoset tag, as they have done a tremendous service to the fan community -- though do beware of spoilers.)
Uncle Jackie's influence doesn't end with the money, though. Even though things get a bit goofy and wirework-y near the end, most of the drama's fights are shows of real martial arts skill. You can see his fingerprints on a lot of the choreography -- I'm thinking particularly of the time Tang Fan tries (and fails!) to stab Sui Zhou three times, which is pure Jackie Chan high-speed dexterity.
Tumblr media
Add this one to the category of shows your Average American Television Enjoyer Who Can Handle Subtitles would like. In fact, I have shown the first episode to my normie father-in-law, who was impressed. Show it to your dad! See if he picks up on the gay!
3. I am from ... HISTORY!
The Chinese title translates to "The 14th Year of Chenghua," which works out to the year 1478. There are some clear anachronisms, but they tend to be played for comedy, so it's hard to hold that against them. On the whole, though, the show is trying real hard to evoke a very specific moment, and I feel it does so beautifully.
Tumblr media
This does, however, mean that several of the characters are real people. I don't even have a good sense of how many of them are based on historical figures, that's how many. Hilariously, Wang Zhi's tag on AO3 used to read "Wang Zhi (?-1487 CE)."
Tumblr media
Moreover, these are characters I've seen pop up in other media, played very differently! In particular, Noble Consort (up there in blue) tends to be written as an uncomplicated villain elsewhere, whereas Sleuth gives her a chance to add some goodness to her badness, until, damn, you can't but root for the bitch. (It also downplays the cradle-robbing, which, honestly, is for the best.)
Tumblr media
You may have guessed from the eunuch section earlier, but it bears repeating: Wang Zhi is straight-up the best character in the show. He's smart as hell, and he has to be, because the second he's stupid, he's dead. I actually consider it helpful to know ahead of time that he's never going to do a heel turn -- I feel like on my first watchthrough, I was holding my breath for the first two-thirds of the show, waiting for his sudden but inevitable betrayal. It does not come. Wang Zhi is one of the heroes.
Tumblr media
He's also, like, evil. He orders people flogged, tortured, and executed. The very first thing you see him doing is sinister as hell. And the show clearly doesn't think this is good, but it also doesn't judge him for it. He's a traumatized seventeen-year-old who has not had a normal moment of his entire life. He's working thanklessly for a boss who could kill him on a whim -- and he's doing it because he literally, physically was made for his job. He's mildly freaking out because he has no emotional grounding to help him understand that these weirdos want to be his friends.
Was the real Wang Zhi like this? That's beside the point. The point is, you get to see how someone in that position could wind up as the war-crimes-committing platonic ideal of a little meow meow.
4. oh my god the food
Warning: This show will make you hungry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, beware of spoilers, but @peppersandcreamsicle and @qinzai have put together an entire cook-along Google Doc so you don't just have to drool -- you can do something about it! Or you can just read it and learn about Chinese cuisine, which is a little more my speed.
But it's not just about how good the food looks. Food is a vital emotional part of the series. People bond over it. They make and share it as a sign of love and care. It indicates status, ethnicity, interest, personality. The show's message about the healing power of cooking for the people you love will bring you to tears.
Tumblr media
And yes, Sui Zhou is the main one doing the cooking, so get ready to drool over both the dishes and the handsome man preparing them.
Tumblr media
Oh, and as though that weren't enough, Fu Meng Po can actually cook in real life. He's so dreamy. Absolute unreal handsome man with a devastatingly sexy voice. (I know my opinion might be different if I could hear his Taiwanese accent, but I can't so it's not!)
5. An Unsunk Ship
So like I said, my intros to c-drama couples had been WangXian, WenZhou, and WeiLan. That meant I'd basically come to terms with the idea that you can't have a main couple in a BL-but-not-really drama without splitting them up at least a little in the end, for no-homo plausible deniability reasons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tang Fan and Sui Zhou are still definitvely, unequivocally together when the story ends, as the iconic pentultimate scene of the series confirms with beauty and simplicity. I refuse to give any more details than that, but that ship's afloat.
(These shirtless pictures aren't from the end, but I wanted to include them, and I didn't have a better place to do it. ...Also, you know, ships and water? Yeah?)
And I think their winding up together reflects Sleuth's entire attitude. Tang Fan is made of sunshine, and the series loves him for it. There is tragedy aplenty in this show, but there's no misery. It is ultimately a hopeful show that believes in the power of second chances, if you're willing to take them. Time and again, the moral of the story is that you are only ever as good as the people who have your back -- but you have to be willing to let them have your back. Let people help you. Let people cook for you. Let people give you a reason to keep living. And then keep living.
Tumblr media
Also, Sui Zhou gets two good kabedons off on that little twink, which means they're legally married now. I don't make the rules.
Bonus: Banger opening theme
youtube
This is one you will watch all 48 times.
Bonus #2: The Halo Video
youtube
This is the video that made me go, huh, these Sleuth boys seem like other boys I've enjoyed! Perhaps I shall enjoy them as well! And then I did. So if that might be convincing to you too, well, have at it. Even if it isn't, it's a fascinating three-minute study of shared those-boys-are-in-love visual language across these shows.
Fair warning that it contains shots from right up to the end, so if you'd rather go in completely blank, give this one a pass until later. (Excuse me while I now go watch it for the 10000th time.)
Have I convinced you to watch it yet?
It originally ran on iQiyi, though Viki's got it as well, and Viki's is free if you're willing to put up with some ads about it.
...I just noticed iQiyi's description of the series reads, "When the two handsome leading actors Darren Wang and Fu Meng-Po work together, what will happen? A lovely prefectural judge and an arrogant embroiered [sic] uniform guard join hands to crack unusual cases! Are you going to choose a new idol?" And you know what? Yes. The details are a little off, but that is the correct spirit. Thank you, thirsty blurb.

What are you most controversial/unpopular OP opinions??? Sorry if it was answered before
You want me to get canceled so bad-- If I speak-- But idk, I guess I'll say the controversial opinions I can say publicly without a bunch of people coming at me!
Zo$an is a bit... Overrated? And by overrated I mean extremely/annoyingly overrated. I like the ship and its canon dynamic but I think at least 80% of the fandom portrays them in a very mischaracterized way. Not to say that... The ship is literally everywhere and the shippers always look for every little thing to prove they're canon, even if the "proof" has literally nothing to do with them. It's not that I don't enjoy the ship (although I must admit I prefer other dynamics a lot more) I just can't stand shippers that go to extremes. It's funny because I think Zo$an's dynamic is way more interesting and romantic in canon than it will ever be in the fandom. It's a bit sad, ngl. I liked them a lot at first but it got so tiring and now I am pretty exhausted from seeing it everywhere. The people force it to be more than it is when the canon is already pretty fucking great.
Adding to the Zo$san thing. I think that relationship would only work if Luffy is there somehow but it wouldn't last a day without him in the relationship. Unless there's like, a ton of character development most of these people don't make them go through.
One Piece Film Z is my worst enemy. It's such a boring movie. The only good thing is the soundtrack and maybe the suits but God watching that was torture.
Boa hate is uhhhh weird. I mean, I get why the joke about her being in love with Luffy might be annoying, but I think most of you need to learn to understand that Oda's sense of humor is sometimes a bit too exaggerated (and not funny) and it has basically nothing to do with the actual canon dynamics between characters. Boa likes Luffy because he's one of the first men who has ever treated her right, so of course she confuses that feeling with love. And of course, yeah, it isn't canon. Whatever. Just read between the lines, maybe? And also, stop using words like "pedo" to describe her because using that term so lightly about 1) a fictional character and 2) somebody who's clearly not a pedo is fucked up. Lmao. Do you even know what that word means???
Once again complaining about Pudding hate and saying that it's stupid. I won't overanalyze because I always do it with her, but the only reason people hate her is for misogynistic reasons and because they're babying Sanji. Evil male characters are okay and hot and very traumatized but the second it's a woman she's the most evilest person ever! Because God forbid they make mistakes! Suddenly their character development isn't valid because they hurt their babygirl!
Now that we're talking about my dearest Pudding. Not tagging anybody of course, but I saw this post with so many interactions of people agreeing about Sanji considering violence as a sign of love which??? Doesn't make sense at all?? OP said it was because he couldn't tell the difference between love/abuse because of his family, but that's just... Not accurate. That could only happen if they had manipulated him into thinking abuse is a type of love, but he had healthy love growing up. Even when he was with the Vinsmokes (Sora and Reiju, I love you). And yet OP said Sanji considered Pudding's behavior flirting (wrong) and that's why he let her attack him (nope) and that it was proof of Zo$an. And okay, it's not a hugely popular theory, but a lot of people agreed with it and it bothered me a lot because it's both out of character and also using Pudding (complex female character) once again to try and prove the canon of a ship (that doesn't have anything to do with WCI either???). It just bothers me. People can perceive the story however they want but... Y'know.
OPLA isn't that good. Or good at all? I only like it because I like the cast and it's funny seeing my blorbos irl. But the script is simple and dull and just stupid most of the time. The characters are either simplified, mischaracterized, or forgotten. And tbh most of the shots are very awful and could be a lot better. The directing is also nonexistent. It's 6/10 and 3 of those points are because both the Zolu and the cast.
Apparently this is a very common theory about Nami's origins, but, uh, I don't think we need to know? What else do you need to know about her? People say she's a lost princess or something like that as if we didn't have a lost princess already (Sanji ily). Repeating the same plot would be boring and underwhelming, but also? It'd be extremely useless for the plot and it'd go against everything about Nami's story and the way Luffy reacts to it.
Luffy isn't canon aroace. In fact, the reasoning people use for him being "coded" is the same Oda uses for Zoro too and Zoro is almost never portrayed as the "idiot who doesn't know what sex is" the way Luffy often is. If you're calling Luffy canon aroace for what Oda said about him being focused on adventures, the same goes for Zoro being focused on his dream. They could be coded arospec but there's nothing confirmed and the constant discourse about it is stupid. Attacking others because of their ships just because you don't agree with them and saying it's wrong using our identity to do it is very fucked up. Especially since most of the time people complaining aren't even aroace. The only reason people do it (attacking others saying they can't ship Luffy and that it's "weird" and "wrong") is that they infantilize Luffy/Don't want him getting in between their ships (<- aroace person writing this) (also, it's very ableist since people agree on Luffy also being neurodivergent coded and treating him like a kid bc of that but this isn't about that now).
Somehow this is very common. Some fucking how. I can't believe I have to say this. I'm tired of people blaming Usopp for what happened in Water 7. Or in general hating Usopp. Actually, he's one of the best-written characters in the whole show and he's so underappreciated it's so frustrating.
Sanji's perv jokes are annoying af and we all know that, but people who hate the character and consider him a red flag for that are missing the point completely. The point being "Oda exaggerates jokes to an annoying extent and most of the time they don't even reflect the character". I understand they can make you uncomfortable (same here tbh) but reducing Sanji to only those jokes is a waste of his character. You need to take jokes less seriously.
If I see one of these "red flag OP boys" TikToks adding Law/Ace/Zoro/Sanji next to fucking Doffy I will riot. Also, stop adding Crocodile there. He's a mafioso, there's NO way he won't be a sweetheart to his lover.
Baron Omatsuri's artstyle and animation is amazing and it fits the plot and aesthetic of the movie perfectly and people saying it's ugly will forever bother me.
"Usopp is suddenly hot after timeskip!" He has always been hot what the fuck are you talking about.
People reduce Nami to her "mean"/"sarcastic" personality a lot when she's quite literally one of the most kind-hearted characters of all. That being said, morally speaking she's probably one of the worst. I could explain how that works but I don't want to do it now, the point is-- Let the girl be sweet instead of making her mean all the time. And also, let her be mean and selfish without making it her entire personality. There's something called "balance".
Film Red was kind of bad. Like, the songs are amazing (thanks, Ado) but the ending is awful and the plot is very meh. I'm only here for Uta and Shanks but the rest of the characters are just useless. I do appreciate Sanji's hair in the movie, though.

I've been really enjoying your fic and it got me curious about how your campaign went??? I got the important parts (your Durge denied Bhaal, Shadowheart spared nightsong I think, Astarion obviously didn't ascend) but what else happened? Will we ever see any of the other companions?
Thanks for enjoying the story! I can say with pretty much certainty we won't be seeing any other canonical characters from the game, Jaheira, Minsc and Halsin would have stayed behind in Baldur's Gate, as well as Wyll. My Durge killed Lae'zel early in the game and Karlach also died at the end of my campaign.
Gale's character decided to go after the crown, and while he was the staple fourth member of my party the relationship had always been uh... Tense. This was before they apparently patched out how needy he was, but frankly it made for a really interesting story since i just kind of assumed his character was kind of a creep wearing a nice-guy's face. Also, to be fair, I DID fall for his "wanna see a magic trick" line but that just kindled the fire to my theory that he's actually a fairly manipulative person (and perhaps he's unaware of it). MIND YOU PLEASE that this doesn't mean i don't like his character - honestly i feel like I got a REALLY interesting side of him in my campaign and i wouldnt have it any other way - this was a party composed of the dark urge, Astarion, Shadowheart and GALE and to have us all turn down power and glory only for the goody-two-shoes wizard of the camp to turn kinda evil and power-hungry made for a really satisfying narrative.
... Sorry i ended up rambling about Gale LOL to actually answer the rest of your question, my campaign went like this:
I made a Fighter, champion sub-class, BIG hulking drow because i thought it would be funny. Because i went in blind I started off as a confused homicidal murderer who is a liiiittle weirded out about his urges but he doesnt stress TOO much about it. Is fairly standoffish and distrusting toward all of his companions which made for a weird start. Motivated by gold, killing things, getting this worm out his head and making off-color jokes. Ends up siding with the Tieflings because i also decided that, as a very hedonistic character who thinks we should be lunatics because we want to rather than because a cult is telling us to be, my durge would profoundly hate the absolute. As a male drow he also really hated Minthara so yeah, easy choice there. As mentioned above, I also killed Lae'zel when she tried to murder-suicide everybody.
I wasn't going to fuck anyone, believe it or not, so during the tiefling party i went with Gale because it SEEMED like he just wanted to show me something neat (it ended early because i failed his checks and i guess he can't get hard unless i can cast fireball). Also, at this point even though i made mostly "good" moral choices i *was* still a dick the whole time - despite this, everyone in camp wanted to fuck me BESIDES Astarion, which was so fucking funny and devastating that I decided my Durge would, from that moment on, turn on the charm and the flattery and make it his mission to bang him. So yes, they were manipulating each other. I don't have to explain why that made for a really really fun little dynamic. Also Astarion had to tell me he was a vampire through dialogue instead of biting me and i got to say "yeah duh" which was hysterical.
I finally banged him sometime during the underdark (didn't go to the creche at all) and during Act 2 I followed the same pattern of doing mostly the Good Thing while being arrogant the whole time, I fell into a kind of chaotic-neutral/true-neutral aligment and watched my little homicidal maniac cluelessly stumble his way into a hero's journey. I had also really grown to like Shadowheart at that point after having a really negative first impression of her character and she basically became my durge's best friend. Astarion also grew on me for all the reasons we know and love and he did his confession to me sometime in late act 2. I Never met Araj (though i think i mention her in the fan story only because her interaction is interesting) so I got the dialogue that isn't prompted by her encounter. I also had to "break up" with Gale at this point which boy that sure came as a surprise to me! I also didnt break the shadow curse.
Because I didnt kill isobel (Again, my guy didnt like people telling him what to do or not to do), my little butler guy made me wanna kill Astarion. I SWEAR this happened pretty late in game, maybe even in the first night in baldur's gate which i realize is unusual. Naturally I didnt and I decided that would be the turning point where my Durge decides to not just Go With The Flow of things but actively fight his urge and pursue its root cause. He tried to be more of a good person from that point on which was kind of a clumsy effort lol
He completely antagonized the emperor immediately upon him revealing his true identity, stole the orphic hammer from Raphael's house, betrayed Gortash after setting an "alliance" with him, killed Orin (she kidnapped the orphan and killed her in front of me because i failed the check :| ) stopped Astarion from ascending and helped Shadowheart kill everyone in the house of grief, i let her make her own choice regarding her parents and she decided to kill them. I also encouraged her to not immediately align with the Selunites just because of her past.
I got Astarion the thing that helps him read the necromancy book and i cannot tell you how satifyins it was that, after giving up unspeakable power by killing Cazador, that dude and his little ghoul army basically mauled Orin and her grandad for me practically by themselves while I was down on the floor with 1 health. PROUD OF YOU BUDDY.
Gale spoke to Mystra as well at some point and i swear I NEVER encouraged that guy to take the crown for himself. It was always either "do whatever you want" or "i think thats a shitty idea." At this point my Durge was super sick of him so they had a bit of a crappy relationship which may have something to do with how things turned out.
I betrayed the emperor, released Orpheus and when he asked if any of us wanted to be a mindflayer i went "Fuck No" big time and luckily the guy just did it for me. Chaos ensues, I kill the emperor and the absolute in an epic battle that took me like a whole day. I also killed Orpheus when he asked me to. Karlach died ( :c ) and Gale told me he was gonna fuck off to get the crown. In the final Astarion dialogue I told him we would find a way to get him to walk under the sun again.... AAAAAnd thats it i think? Man this game is huge lmao i swear i wasnt trying to be long-winded.

Oh, are we talking about trans headcanons??? I see someone already mentioned transfem Kazuichi, which I'm a pretty big fan of! But have you guys considered transfem Fuyuhiko? I think there's a lot of potential in that - in the fact that even in canon there's a lot of him not feeling like he really fits as the Ultimate Yakuza, and that he has to play a role to be so... I think it lends well to a transfem headcanon. Another I could see would be transfem Mondo, with how much in canon he plays up the masculinity, it could be something preformative in a transfem headcanon. I'm also a fan of transfem Kokichi & Shuichi, too - I've seen people headcanon the both of them as nonbinary, transfem, AND transmasc, and honestly? Love that for them, tbh.
I also am a big fan of transfem Makoto!!! I usually headcanon him as genderfluid, but I could also see him be a trans demigirl, tbh. I respect transmasc headcanons too even if I don't usually ascribe to them for Makoto specifically! I kind of like to think that the fact that Makoto's door gets stuck is a very funny quirk of fate in the event of him being genderfluid/nonbinary - even his door, which is supposed to be a men's one, doesn't ascribe to a binary! & Makoto using she/they/he pronouns is so real to me.
I also love to see Kiibo exploring pronouns in fics. Like, in canon they use he/him (at least in the localization) but I like to believe they experiment with different ones for a while, just to see if they like them.
I also tend to see Hajime as nonbinary, using he/they pronouns too! That's not exactly a transfem headcanon, but yeah.
I also love the idea of nonbinary kaede as well - using she/they pronouns. Maybe in the event of transfem Shuichi or Kokichi, she helps them explore their gender at first.
I could also see Tsumugi as being genderfluid or otherwise genderqueer in some way - she defaults to she/her but she doesn't mind other pronouns, and oftentimes go with he/him when complying a male character.
This one's more controversial, but I also love the idea of nonbinary Junko with possible internalized transphobia. Like, I think the fact that she keeps making alter egos that are male (Monokuma, Shirokuma, and Kurokuma) lends well to this, but I also keep going back to that line monokuma said about being neither male nor female because there's no gender in the animal kingdom. Incredibly nonbinary thing to say. Of course, I think how Junko handles being nonbinary is somewhat dependent on what you headcanon Chihiro as - but if you headcanon Chihiro as a transwoman and Junko as transphobic towards her, it could somewhat be from internalized transphobia- like, her having the idea that "if I'm fine with being a woman even though I feel like this about it, you should be fine with your assigned sex too!" Or even the idea that she cannot fathom why someone would WANT to be a woman in the first place - like, what reason would you have to subject yourself to it if not malicious ones or weakness? Since she is so disconnected or even discontent from "womanhood". If you see Chihiro as nonbinary, Junko not understanding or even being bitter that they get to reject the binary but she doesn't could also make sense, and her putting them in the "male" box would almost be from jealousy and spite. If you headcanon Chihiro as a transmale, it becomes a) somewhat hilarious that Junko, the big bad of the series, accepts their gender and b) Chihiro could be the person who teaches her about this stuff in a pre-despair setting, and maybe even make her realize she's nonbinary. I know it's.... slightly problematic to headcanon the main villain of the series who has shown she is possibly transphobic (depending on how you see Chihiro again) as trans, but I think it's... fine if you also headcanon other characters as so and not just the villains. Plus, I'm nonbinary myself, so I think it's allowed.
Those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head! I love trans headcanons <3
There's so much good stuff here!! I can't address all of it, but a couple of my favorites:
I LOOOVE transfem Mondo, it's one of my absolute favorite transfem headcanons. The way it changes that trial from "horrifying trans panic" to "the tragedy of someone with extensive internalized transphobia meeting someone who is further along on their journey and lashing out in unrealized jealousy, ultimately destroying the version of themself they wish to be"...MWAH. The type of tragedy that can only belong to someone transitioning. The consequences of self loathing, both in harming others and harming ourselves, made manifest! But with GENDER.
I'm sure this is just part of the rest of that line, but the phrase "they canonically use he/him pronouns" is so funny. Power to K1-B0 for being incomprehensible wrt gender just in general. Love that agender kid
I am actually a big fan of transmasc Junko! (And I'll use he/him for Junko real fast to emphasize this point) I think the idea of Junko as someone who experiences a huge amount of dysphoria when he's perceived as feminine, who then goes out of his way to present himself as a champion of gyaru culture and hyper-femininity, making it so that, even if he one day receives the mental health treatment he obviously needs, he will always be associated with this incredibly female-oriented culture...that's despair. That's the type of shit you do at rock bottom. I have BEEN there my man. EDIT:
Tumblr media
we are on the EXACT SAME PAGE anon 🤝
I actually did, genuinely, think Shuichi was a butch girl until I played the game, and was SO excited to finally see rep of my actual high school self. Wearing hats to cover dysphoria-inducing hairstyle? Emo makeup to escape the Social Makeup Norms? hangs out with kaede??? that's one of us right there

I was looking for information on her blog in regards of this and i do believe that he's indeed implied as at least sexless (you could put intersex too, but that's another story). Since i'm anon right now i don't think i can link any of the stuff here, so i'll put the date of the posts so you can search for them on Comyet's blog.
1. I think the first proof is that Comyet haven't actually refered to anything sex related with him or neither she confirmed that he's '''biologically male''' ever. That part is always referred to as his gender and only that.
(Bc of that 'biological vagueness' his character had/has, people often confuse to what sex Ink really was. Which gives us a lot of funny posts by Comyet, like one made in Apr 9, 2017: 'Is Ink a girl or boy? 'Yes'. There are others BUT i'm not very in the mood to look for them lol. By that point on Comyet had actually begun to be more accertive to what Ink's gender is bc they didn't wanted people misgendering him all over around lmao..
2. Another post (in which the previous anon has reffered to) was made on Aro/Ace awareness month/week. But i reallyy can't find the post right now so you'll needd to trust my words/// The thing i want to point out on that is how the post said 'even if ink was interested in 'that kinda of stuff' i couldn't engage in that' and Comyet agreed with the statment in the reblog. (this could also refer to who he's a skeleton too, but that also fits the 'sexless' criteria lol)
speaking of 'post that previous anon has reffered to', they said that Ink is canonically androgynous and that's true. In reference to a post made in Jan 2, 2017, where it's asked;
'you've said that you mostly let people decide Ink's gender and such [...], can we put ink in dresses??'
(response) 'let him wear the prettiest dresses or agender outfits please (know that it's canon please, he wears anything)' end of quote.
3. This post was made in Nov 23, 2021 and it's the most recent one in here. That post actually asks if he's nonbinary in which is confirmed that he's not.
Start of quote 'Ink indentifies as male [...] ,but he relates to and doesn't mind the use of they/them [...] You can play around with his gender identity as stated in the faq as you like too :-D >>(he's a skeleton everything is possible)'<< end of quote.
So yeah!! We can't really say 'Oh he's implied as biologically male bc of (insert)' when it wasn't being implied or stated at ALL lmao ( i really can't find any proof that supports that theory lol). It seems that Comyet didn't implied anything is this area so people could be free to think whatever they want about him. It's not canon that he's trans or neitheir is canon that he's cis! nothing is really confirmed or implied.
BUT Comyet does have a history of impliying things with Ink that she can't explicitly state/say but are very clearly canon/intended. One primal example of that is how Ink is extremly and heavily implied as being asian. With him being created out of ink brushes, a very important aspect of japanese/chinese culture (that part is reffered to in his FAQ), having canonical themes that very often features east asian instruments (this is said by Comyet btw and he does have a musical themes in Underverse that has such instruments, like 'Bruskwork'!), being literally designed as east asian/japanese in his 2020 redesign (or at*least* having elements of it), being referred as such is posts comyet has reblogged and xyz (there's actually a lot of things loll)
i’ve seen those posts!! sexless skeletons are often a default for people (see nightmare and dream, however, they are more explicitly hinted at having a disconnect to gender), so i don’t doubt he could fall under that category for a second, and i agree there is vagueness and comyet is big on letting people interpret them how they want. however, it’s not explicitly stated either, both are just as possible. it’s like shrodinger’s cat but with assigned gender, except the box is locked in a room far away so we’re never able to see if the cat is dead or alive/cis or trans. and similar to what the experiment is getting at, both and neither exist at the same time. stating one is canon over the other would be untrue, which is what i was trying to say but failed miserably at i assume
i was so tired when making that post that it probably seemed like i was directly insisting he was cis? or not trans? that wasn’t the case, it was more like “he’s not non binary there’s a lot of proof he isn’t, and he isn’t implied to be trans so stating either are canon would be incorrect” though i feel i forgot to mention he wasnt directly stated or implied to be cis either? he’s vague, and he’s not trans as much as he’s not cis, neither are canon and so saying either is canon would be untrue, but saying either are noncanon would be just as wrong. ugh. i should stop making things when i’m tired oh my god i need to look back over that that was so poorly written UGH
if i implied he was cis that is not my intent if i stated he was cis that was also NOT my intent i was running on several energy drinks after not sleeping for over 26 hours straight please please forgive me for my terrible wording
once again i’m non-binary myself, i’m just trying my very very best to spread as little information as possible on his character and i will always pick explicit statements (that he’s male, as stated multiple times by comyet) over vague hints, but i do keep those vague hints in mind as well!!! ink is a little mystery i’m trying to solve which is a difficult task because i don’t think solving him is possible at all
comyet has shown to be open to other ideas (i believe adhd wasn’t canon for him until someone brought it up) and making them canon if they fit well enough, so i don’t doubt that if they really wanted, they’d make him non-binary or agender or state he’s genderqueer. assigned gender will forever be a mystery unless comyet says one or the other, but his gender identity has been solved as it has stated to be male. an androgynous one, and definitely one who doesn’t care about outfits or how he’s perceived, but male nonetheless. hence why i was adamant about him not being non-binary, though i feel i was too pushy with that aaa i should never post when i’m tired. bad wick bad

I'd give you 5$ if you post that draft
you didn't even need to bribe. it's not actually in the drafts of this blog so i'll write a better version
i've said it a billion times before: tsukasa is the comedic relief weirdguy, the devs basically will do anything with him so long as it's funny.
so starting with that valentine's day vlive in 2021. during the MC part of that he gets jealous that rui has been getting chocolates and tries to brag that he got lots of chocolates too but then immediately reveals that he got friendzoned by multiple girls. his voiceline that year is something about how he catches everyone's attention on vday and year round bc he's a star or something like that but anyway that whole interaction there seems to suggest he's straight lol.
however.
he's REALLY oblivious. played for comedy ofc but i see a lot of people interpret this as him being somewhere on the aro spectrum (probably not what the writers intended but fair instance of accidentally coding a character as smth). examples include: not understanding why Akito doesn't want to be seen at PXL alone with Toya in an Akito's initial 3* (second story), literally says "thank you" when Asahi basically confesses to him and completely misses the point (he actually did seem to nearly get this one for a second), and he doesn't understand why Rui's friends are impressed that he's friends the incredibly attractive Shizuku (Tsukasa is the only not-gay-coded male character who isn't attracted to Shizuku, probably because they're childhood friends. or if you want to view him as being aspec, then that works too). also when he mentions that he's friends with guys in his class who are cool and popular and good with women, Hibiki says that he was in a class with one of those guys in 1st year and is amazed that tsukasa is in that crowd now, emphasis on the "tsukasa's friends are good with women part". tsukasa's just confused about that because of course they talk to girls a lot they're in the same class.
also he usually rewrites a lot of romance plays to remove the romance. he rewrote R&J to just make it focused on the action (which is probably because he likes playing action heroes more than anything else), and he got rid of the romance plot in little mermaid because he didn't felt it was needed (this one is justified in-universe as they do fun shows for small children and don't really need the tragic romance, and also from production standpoint like you don't do that because fandom). so yeah that could again be read as him being aspec if you want but i don't think the writers intended it to be read that way, especially the R&J one that was purely for comedy.
all that said, this is an idol game, which generally run on the rule of thumb that every character is some flavour of queer, even if it's just for fanservice (i don't play enstars but from what i do know of it it falls a bit on that last point). anyway you can probably tell where this is going but he gets ship tease with rui sometimes. vast majority of this is from Rui's side but there are things like Oki ni Mesu mama
Tsukasa: Waiting for the "1, 2…" signal, holding hands with you is an act of courage for me
or that one part in pandemonium where he drops his persona for a brief second when he's impressed by rui's plan that was very much put there on purpose, or that Tsukasa and Airi's cheerful carnival team name from that event is "swayed by their partners (相方, aikata)" and when you consider that Shizuku and Airi are heavily implied to like each other, and have canonically been on a "date", that was also a Choice.
idk whether to count KING because justified by them being actors and the fang motif in the song... vampires kinda homoerotic it makes sense that the dance routine was that. also i'm not sure if the connect lives are even canon, especially the wxs one since tokishun broke character and the 4th wall.
yeah i dunno. the writers kinda just do whatever they want with him. interpret any of this how you will i'm just recounting shit from the game.
oh hey it's longer than 300 words now

💚 + TYL male Tsuna
Who do you ship my muse with? Send me 💚 + a character name and I’ll give my thoughts on that ship! ||Accepting|| @signorinavongola
Oh? TYL Male Tsuna? Can’t say I was expecting that one, kekek Well well well, readmore time! I have many thoughts about this.
Let’s see… so I think most people who have ever talked to me at length will know how I feel about Tsuna x Haru, and know that I am not very partial to it. I am not a big fan of it, but it isn’t to the point that it’s a NOTP or anything. I’m fine with people shipping it or liking it, but it’s not exactly a ship that I enjoy on the regular.
IF I am to enjoy the ship, it probably has to be done under certain circumstances, or I simply will not tolerate it. As a person who has liked a person for years but he seemed to only pay attention to other girls and outright like one of her best friends—I feel Haru. It hurts a lot, it also damages your self-confidence and self-esteem. It really sucks, and the last chapter does show that she knows that Tsuna doesn’t actually pay attention to her.
She confronted him about it. I, Neo, will NEVER get over “Did you eat Yakisoba before coming, Haru? Your lips are shiny.”
YAKISOBA. YAKIBSOBA!? BOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIII THE WAY MY ANGER AND VIOLENT URGES SKYROCKETED WHEN I READ THAT. Haru did good to get in his face like ‘It’s my lip gloss that I’ve been using for a while! Pay more attention to me!’
That’s right. You tell him. Either pay attention to her or actually sit her down and tell her that you don’t see her that way and that you’ll never see her that way. Actually reject her so that she can move on and not believe on that minute chance that if she keeps trying he’ll look her way one day. I’m getting mad again.
Like, the way that Haru would do things like visiting Tsuna dressed up in silly costumes and he’d rebuke such a silly thing but you find out Kyoko is also there? She thought it’d be funny? Suddenly his tune changes, like wow what a great idea. Thanks for doing it. Honestly, it was a ‘just say that Kyoko is going and he’ll say he’ll go’ or ‘Kyoko thought it was a good idea’ and then he’ll agree and say that it is.
From Haru’s standpoint, that really sucks to have any effort of yours only be validated because of Kyoko’s involvement. Haru does have an odd way of seeing things and she’s a bit of a troll gremlin. She just loves to do silly things. People are suffering with their homework, why not take a break and have a heat endurance competition for fun? If I recall, Tsuna was like ‘what kind of monster would think of such a thing?’ Haru coming out like QuQ I’m not a monster—not gonna lie- fair. I get irrationally mad when I get hot and start sweating so yeah. You’re not wrong for that Tsuna LOL [I’m not a blind Haru stan that will forgive everything she does lol]
I’ve only said this to a handful of people, but it’s my theory that Kyoko and Haru both are to serve as different kinds of foil for Tsuna that you often see in Shonen series. There is the crush that the main character likes who will either secretly also like him back OOOOOR will come to like him as the series progresses. That is Kyoko’s role in the series. Then in many shonen, you’ll also have that one girl who likes the main character and will seemingly not fall out of love even though there are so many choices around her? Hinata steadfastly liking Naruto only (lucky her, she marries him in the end. Good on ya, girl!). Momoi having a crush on Tetsuya (yes, KNB). Boa Hancock who is just smitten with Luffy even though he doesn’t really notice her like that. Could’ve made the case with Juvia and Gray for a while (Fairy Tail). It’s been a while I forget if they were canon at the end of the series. I know Gajeel and Levy were canon! That was the pairing I needed in my life.
Basically, it’s a thing. That’s basically Haru. It’s like Haru’s role is to be the girl who just loves Tsuna and even though there are so many guys around her who are just as great (if not better) she’s still only locked onto Tsuna. Haru and Kyoko are the foils that are to tell the readers thus: You may be a loser but if you work hard and be a good guy, your crush will eventually look at you. OR You may be a loser, but there is probably a girl who will like you anyways for who you are. Last chapter of KHR is actually criminal. Haru finally confronts him about how he doesn’t pay attention to her and then he blushes like ‘I am paying attention’ and then Reborn and Bianchi stand there like oh look he’s blushing. These two consistently keep dropping hints that Haru and Tsuna are a good pair and they make me want to punch a wall.
Cease and desist. I hate it here. Reborn did add the fact that Haru was getting popular with guys as of late and it’s because she’s cute. Reborn gets a pass for that added commentary. He isn’t on my shit list for that. Amano committed a crime against me by having Tsuna save Haru again and making Haru fall for Tsuna even harder. I’ll literally NEVER FORGIVE HER FOR THIS. You gave me hope that Haru can finally escape the one-sided love, and you do this??? 왜? POR QUE? WHY? なぜ? Perché? I’m not exactly sure what Amano’s goal was with the last chapter, but if she’s trying to hint that he will actually start paying attention to her and like her—I’ve mixed feelings. If she’s implying that he won’t ever really make his choice and it’ll be almost like an harem kind of thing? I’ll sooner pair Haru and Kyoko together before I accept this. I do think that Tsuna was supposed to be paired with Kyoko though, it did seem hinted in the TYL arc. If so, I’m sure they’d make a lovely pair.
Let. Haru. Be. FREE!!!!!!!! Haru, please, you have OPTIONS. Look at all the guys around you, they’re great. Look at them. PLEASE.
Now, I’ll also say that Haru isn’t without fault either. She’s incredibly stubborn, and she probably was being very optimistic in her idea that if she keeps trying, he’ll eventually look at her and come to like her too. One day she’ll come out from being the shadow woman and actually be with him. She also comes off really strong, and it’s burdensome to push your feelings onto someone. I’ll admit that she’s wrong for that. It’s not a good behavior. I can see why he lowkey pushes her away sometimes. I can see why he feels exasperated around her. I won’t blame him for that because I get it.
Before I move on, let me talk to you about something that absolutely breaks me and I want others to feel sad too. Haru Character song broke me the day I actually read translation. Haru really was like I’m okay with being the shadow woman because she loves him. I will cause multiple counts of aggravated assault on a pillow.
Because I’m upset about it, here are a few memorable quotes from the song “Kita no Dangerous”
I love you, Tsuna-san When I'm awake, when I'm sleeping To think that this heart will break It's a very horror everyday
"Aa~ I don't care if I am only a shadow woman I'll follow you wherever Because because Haru loves you, Tsuna-san
But our school is different It's a very lonely everyday Even if you take advantage on this love weakness I want you to rely on it on trouble times
LITERALLY DON’T GET ME STARTED ON HOW MUCH THIS HURT ME THE DAY I FINALLY READ THE TRANSLATIONS. I WILL SMITE!!!!!!!!!!!
GIRL. Where is your self-love. Your self-worth? EXCUSE ME? You’re okay if you’re only a shadow woman because you love him? You’ll follow him because you love him? It’s okay if he takes advantage of your love? HAH!?!!?!?!?!
There is a reason why I am not a fan of this ship. Look at what this love has done to my girl. THIS! IS. WHY. I. WRITE. HARU. OLDER. I don’t want to write her as she’s still in love. I don’t want to write her when she’s in a one-sided love lying to herself that it’s okay if she’s a shadow woman. Kill me, actually.
[Does this mean you don’t think Tsuna and Haru would make a good couple?]
LOLOLOL I didn’t say that. Despite how it sounds, I don’t think they’d make a bad couple. I just think it would require a LOT of work.
I have a lot of random thoughts here and there but I won’t go into that. I will instead focus on what circumstances need to happen for me to accept a Tsuna x Haru ship. I will literally not accept a suddenly Tsuna decided he liked Haru back one day and they just instantly became a ship. NAH. After all the suffering she’s been through? All the times her efforts weren’t appreciated or went ignored? I won’t tolerate that for a second. As long as Haru is my muse, if Tsuna ever came up to her randomly and say that he liked her back, she’ll believe that she’s being lied to. Something happened. The first two things she’ll ask is: Is this a joke? Or ‘Did you finally confess to Kyoko-chan and she rejected you? Is that why you like me now?’ Haru has no chill sometimes, and I love her for it.
Like sure, I’m sure if he was like I’m not kidding, she would probably believe him and probably be okay with it—but I’M NOT. This is the one thing that I will fight Haru on. She may say okay but I’ll say no. After everything she’s been through? I’m not having such an anticlimactic ‘oh, you actually like me? Okay! Great!’ NAAHHHHHHH We’re not having that.
As we all know, I default Haru to being 18 and that she’s already gotten over Tsuna. The only way I’d accept Tsuna and Haru being a thing is after she stopped liking him, he for whatever reason decided/realized that he liked her. Then it’s his turn to try to court Haru. It probably won’t be that easy considering she gave up on her feelings for him, and that likely didn’t come without significant thought and emotionally sorting through her feelings. If Tsuna was willing to actually court her and try to get her to love him again while also understanding the fact that she’d been hurt for a long time because of him- I can agree to the ship. I’m not about to have Haru be the only one who got hurt in this ordeal.
You can suffer a little bit too, Tsuna. That’s the bitter Haru-mun talking.
Phew, now for the part you actually came here to ask for lol.
Tsuna spent a lot of his childhood being a dame-Tsuna. Even his mother would talk down on him sometimes, but Nana has also said herself that she didn’t need Tsuna to be special or amazing. She just wanted him to be happy. Knowing that he didn’t have many friends growing up, his sociability is a bit lacking. He needs time to really come to understand how to really interact with people and we do see him struggling with that throughout the series, but he learns! Quickly, at that.
Tsuna can also be a bit on the timid side, someone who can be a bit indecisive, but when it’s important, and the stakes are high, he’s able to make decisions based off instinct or what he thinks is right. I do think he needs someone that could compliment that, where they aren’t so timid, and may have a secret softer and hurt side that they don’t show others. He would do well to be paired with someone who is very supportive and is patient with his timid nature. Someone who would understand that he may struggle to say somethings because he doesn’t want to hurt people. Honestly, that’s probably the reason why he never really outright rejected her. He didn’t want to hurt her and maybe he feared that in doing so he’d lose a friend.
For a person who didn’t have many friends, losing one is a scary concept, so I get that and can sympathize with it. (I still get mad on Haru’s behalf though) Anyways, I do think that Haru is a nice kind of opposite to him since she’s very honest and open. She speaks her mind and she’s very open to talking out if someone is doing something bad. She’s not afraid to simply speak up and smack someone if need be. That said, she’s mostly that open and bold when it comes to others. If it comes to talking about herself, she’s surprisingly pretty quiet and to herself about it. Tsuna would probably be able to pick up on some of that.
So in some ways they could help each other. Tsuna being that person who would support him every step on the way, remind him that he’s capable of doing many great things, and to just be there for him. He can also be there for her when she’s struggling with something and be that quiet personality who will silently support her. If she wants to talk, they can, but if she’d prefer to sit in silence and mope, he’ll be there in silent support.
Haru just appreciates effort and intent, so as long as he was trying to do something nice for her or what, she’d always appreciate it. She wouldn’t look down on Tsuna for being to be cool and then failing. She doesn’t care if he’s not the smartest. She doesn’t care if he’s not the tallest, the most athletic, etc etc. She cares for someone’s sense of morals, their integrity, and their personality. She’d appreciate him and his intentions, and I think that would do him well, knowing that she loved him for who he was.
She doesn’t love him because he has power. She doesn’t love him for superficial things like his looks, or anything like that. Haru, I feel, is very good at showing people that when she likes them, she likes them for THEM. There is very little room to doubt her affections, and for Tsuna who (in canon) has shown a lot of self-confidence issues, it’s a good thing. We do see that he improved on that a lot through the course of the series, however.
Basically, if they were to be a couple, they’d be a sweet and caring one. They’d be very supportive of each other, they’d simply love to be together and just be wholesome and sweet.
I’ll stop it there because I don’t write with a TYL Tsuna (male) and so I’m not sure how one or the majority choose to write him. It’s hard for me to say how they’d be as a couple in TYL. Bottom line, if they were to somehow be a couple, I think they’d make it work. They’d be a nice couple.
You just gotta convince the squinting mother in law (ME).

it’s frustrating when people (mainly GA—and, surprise! homophobes!) act like byler is in the same vein as background ships that hardly even interact with each other—i.e fanonical ones with a loose basis in the actual show...
if you think byler is just some far-fetched fan theory you might wanna rewatch the show. i mean, it’s been several years since the first three seasons, a refresher could be good to remind you that mike and will’s relationship is sewn into the very fabric of the show. there’s always been special, very deliberate emphasis on the two of them in comparison to any other platonic pair in the show. there’s always been romantic framing, tropes, subtext, and parallels with them.
st*ddie and r*nance, for example, aren’t as deeply based in the show. they have real chemistry, understand each other and are very cute—i don’t mean that in a belittling or sarcastic way, they’d both make good couples and i’m a casual shipper /gen. the difference between ships like them and byler is that the show literally would not function the same without mike and will’s unique dynamic, and not going through with making them canon would be a huge storytelling failure and (yeah i’m gonna use the word) queerbait.
people treating byler like some made up impossibility isn’t just a way to demean us, specifically, though. the root of it is (unsurprisingly) homophobia. their rhetoric isn’t really about it being unrealistic, even if that’s what they’ll claim—it’s about us believing two well-established, likable, and not especially stereotypical MALE characters in a super popular tv show could actually get together. because as you know, all queer people look/act the same, never have comphet, and never get happy endings, etc etc /s.
(and it’s funny, because a lot of them are willing to accept that will’s in love with mike but only under the condition that will gets his heart broken. reeks of homophobia, methinks)
this is probably hypocritical considering this post but, to bylers: don’t let them succeed in demeaning you. please don’t let them make you doubt yourself. st*ddie and r*nance shippers too: their stories may not be as fully-fledged (partly because they’re more minor characters than the main party) but everything you see is intentional. you’re not making up the chemistry and dynamic you see, even the actors and actresses agree with you.
in conclusion (kinda), people think we’re seeing things that aren’t there because they can’t fathom a queer tv couple developing with the same tropes as tons of straight tv couples do: slowburn, several seasons in, love triangle, childhood friends to lovers, etc. the only queer couples they’ve ever seen in media are with characters that are established as queer from the get-go, and usually get with their s/o’s pretty early on. (also, there’s the large amount of people who cry that mike can’t love will back bc he has a girlfriend and is therefore straight—as if comphet and bisexuality don’t exist)
i don’t wanna be that guy but... it really does just come down to the fact if one of them were female, nobody would deny byler’s existence and that it’s endgame. it’s so stupid, but that’s actually what it comes down to. when you look past it all, the main anti-byler argument is “umm actually they’re both boys so :P”
so yeah. that’s what i wanted to say. thank you if you read it all <3 love u

I like Ron, I get why some people want to see his character become more self assured and competent (we get one episode every now and then) but the way a lot of very prominent stories does it by projecting wish-fulfillment and an hyper masculine image (and some weird incel thinking) onto his character has always been weird.
Because how does that happen? at least in the show he was always been the damsel in distress, the moral support, this may be because that was seen as “funny” or “odd” back then, but his character has always been very non-conforming on gender roles, with his skills, role and expression of gender leaning more towards being feminine.
If that’s how his character is. Why is it that a great part of the fandom likes to project an hyper masculine image onto his character, when Ron’s character was the complete opposite of that? I’ve also seen people call his character a self-insert, but is he? He just seemed as a relatable character for both boys and girls.
i had to google the term "incel" and i definitely don't see Ron fitting the definition that popped up. Ron shows himself to overall be very confident in terms of going after the ladies, especially in S1 and parts of S2. i'd suggest it drops off as the series progresses because the writers wanted to steer more toward a Kim/Ron endgame. but yeah in S1 we see Ron often hitting on girls, including upperclassmen, and then there's the elephant in the room of Golden Years where he's trying to get with any lady at spring break, and.... just my observation, but nothing about him seems to say he thinks he's unattractive.
now, did he respond to Barkin's criticism in Ron the Man? yeah he did. he looks up to Barkin so that impacted him. but by the end of the episode, like in many of our Ron-focused episodes, he'd learned his lesson. in fact, a majority of the series, imo, becomes focused on Ron's character development overall, much more than Kim's. we DO see him becoming more self-assured, confident...culminating with his victory in Graduation. that's...that's the show.
he is Kim's moral support yes, that's one of his roles in the show. his motto is "never be normal" and i can easily see some of that being a defense against a life-time of bullying because he doesn't conform to a stereotype. but...does he seem unhappy? not in the slightest. he's very happy with Kim his bestie, with Rufus, he hangs with other friends, enjoys videogames and comic books... we see him good at basketball, eventually passable at football (lol), great at movie-makeup... he explores other interests generally... Ron is, in a word, awesome. easily a fun character to identify with for so many POSITIVE reasons...
now.... is it fun to interpret characters in ways that...mmm....strike at different feels? oh yes. i personally don't enjoy that IF it seems to depart too much from the canonical view. a writer would have to be extremely convincing, for me. and it's extremely common in fandom to project onto a character. i've done it therapeutically from time to time, but i think it's more common for someone to just want to identify with a character.... not sure.
i find nothing wrong with healthy masculinity, in fact i encourage it. but if you mean some of the overwhelming....Ron is the universe's punching bag, stories... or the even more overwhelming, Ron has a harem, stories.... since i'm not too familiar with the term "incel" and only have the google definition, i'll speculate more.... this is the projecting, thing. maybe from dudes who are frustrated being in the friendzone? maybe from dudes who identify with Ron in the way Bonnie views him, for example, or maybe from people who just want to write smut with the babes and don't wanna use other male characters... i feel like that these specific fandom portrayals are less....done out of love of the fandom, and more for that writer's personal preferences?
i don't wanna assume too much into their motives, but i don't personally see those portrayals as canonical and i don't read them. people can write whatever they want, and yeah an overwhelming lot of portrayals of Ron don't float my boat.... (i won't reply to your second ask since it was just clarifying this one, and i got the idea. 😊)

1,2,3,6,7, 8 and 20 for Joker, Akechi and Sumi!
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
Joker: peak gender. he's just a silly funny little guy. a little goofball. a fool. you can even say he's a— a— a jok— [gets shot]
Akechi: HOO BOY be glad i am fresh off exams and brain fried and also not currently hyperfixated on p5 rn because the way i can ramble in circles about this guy. just. him being a foil to every phantom thief in some way, the commentary on the abuse children born out of wedlock face (especially in Japan), and. augh. he is a fascinating character because he has his shit together enough to be competent but not quite enough to realize that maybe his self-destruction isn't quite healthy. also third semester my beloved. there is something just so. deeply poetic about February 2nd. like. Akechi's sacrifice in Shido's palace was entirely on his own terms. he was finally doing something completely with his own agency. that decision was the first time he was completely and totally in control of his own life, and that is worth dying for. and then that's torn away from him in favor of some sweet saccharine reality where everyone is happy. sometimes i wonder if Maruki ever did anything for Akechi like he did for everyone else (besides bring him back from the dead). like. where is bro at in his free time. i've seen theories floating around that he avoids home because of his revived mother. which also brings me to the fact that Akechi sees LeBlanc as his home. man. i am now realizing that you can give a guy some anger issues and daddy issues and i will say they are my favorite character without hesitation. also yeah this man is not heterosexual.
Sumire: SUMIIIIIII MY GIRL. god you ever see a character on screen and go "haha that's me :D". cuz for me that was actually Makoto BUT Sumi is a very close second. i do think atlus bungled her execution a bit but that doesn't stop me from loving her. cuz like. yeah comparison is the thief of joy actually. especially when the object of comparison is someone close to you that you love a lot. some of Sumire's dialogue about her feelings toward Kasumi just. hit so fucking close to home. especially the "sometimes i even hated her. isn't that so awful of me?" (paraphrasing). girl i have been there and i Get It. it is rough. she was really relatable for me at the time so she is now blorbo from video game.
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
Joker: the faces and flourishes he does in the Metaverse. like slayyy king but also he is absolutely cringefail
Akechi: third semester portraits
Sumire: Cinderella theming!!!! yippeeeee!!!!
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
Joker: nitpicky gripe but the way the game handles his name being customizable is 😭. "this guy," "him" (with extra emphasis), like. please
Akechi: Vanilla P5 👍
Sumire: oh i have so many gripes about this one. i mentioned before that Atlus bungled the ball but the biggest one i have is her thief outfit. why does she look like Joker But Girl. like. let her have her own identity outside of the male protagonist that she gets a lot of shiptease with????? please??????
6. What's something you have in common with this character?
Joker: ok so this one time i told my irl friend group to psychoanalyze me based on my favorite characters and one of my friends said that i perform the image i think other people expect of me when i said Joker and i have never financially recovered
Akechi: daddy issues. anger issues. masking so much that i'm not sure who i really am anymore
Sumire: oh i talked about this one. uh haha yeah i also had a period in my life where i was depressed about not being able to compare to other people.
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
Joker: i would like to thank the fans that address his trauma regarding police brutality, y'all doing god's work. also Joker's gender is. it exists (?). shoutout to the 5 gajillion gender headcanons that are all canon at the same time in my head
Akechi: the headcanon that he has shit eyesight is so fucking funny to me. imagine the pissbaby rant in Shido's palace but with "AND YOU DON'T EVEN NEED GLASSES WHILE I SPEND SO MUCH MONEY ON MY CONTACTS" tacked on at the end. also giving him longer hair
Sumire: redesigns of her thief outfit (and Vanadis)! and expansions on her friendships with the other thieves (especially Joker and Akechi!!!)
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
Joker: i need to put the phrase "he has no personality" on a shelf above where fans can reach
Akechi: ok, i love shuake as much as the next guy, but why is almost every Akechi fanwork i find focused on the ship. also stop saying his confidant is queerbait, what the fuck are y'all on
Sumire: i need to put the phrase "Mary Sue" on a shelf high, HIGH above where fans can reach. also can people be normal about her showing thighs in her thief outfit. actually, can people be normal about her in general
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?
Joker: Ryuji!!!!!! they're bros!!!!!
Akechi: Yusuke. they'd be so autistic about literature and art together
Sumire: Ann! i think they match each other's energy pretty well

Full disclosure I think the no homo crowd is actually kind of tiny in the 911 Fandom. Just sometimes they can be loud especially when they want to attack Buddie shippers. But like I just saw an exchange and here is my thing.
Yes I ship 2 Canon "straight men". I have had alot of ships straight and queer not sail. Some end tragically sad. I'm aware there is a teeny tiny chance IMHO hey it may not happen. I can admit that.
But how can anyone who absolutely hates it scream it so loudly and surely in the year 2022 S6. Like it's funny to me honestly that you can be so sure. This show invested seasons into love interests that were dropped. The fact is they made a conscious choice to show Eddie made Buck Christopher's guardian all the way back in 3. They showed Eddie healing with his family and they still made that a decision.
So I don't know, I mean you have to have some doubt if your so loud now. It screams insecurities to be honest. Like I can be wrong I admit that. Maybe you should too. I know alot of males like my Dad or brother who don't even ship them, nor do I talk to them about it. However I know if it happened they would be like oh makes sense. Even at the dinner scene my brother was like LA is so expensive why don't they just share a house already to save money.
Hi Nonnie! :D
OMG, I love your brother! XD He’s right and he should say it. I really do wish we’d get Buddie roommates (on screen! Not just implying that it happened but never showing us) before they get together. It would be so delicious!
But most of all, I agree with everything you said. No one can say for sure whether two characters will get together other than the show runners... and even they can change their minds. Take Monica and Chandler on Friends for example. No one saw it coming when they hooked up in England other than the show runners who decided on it. And even when they did, they weren’t supposed to last. Their thing was supposed to provide comic material for a few eps and that’s it. But the show runners saw the audience’s reaction to Monica and Chandler and changed course. So yeah, no fan can say with absolute certainty that something will def happen or not happen before a show is over, when sometimes the people in power themselves couldn’t do it either.
Also, let’s not forget that Buck and Eddie had never been officially labelled as straight. The idea that show runners would be more married to a label they’ve never used than to public response... I just don’t think that would be the case, especially when with Buck the show very much did hint on more than one occasion (and beginning in s1, before Eddie was even introduced) that he might swing both ways. I’m not one of the people who’d insist Buddie are def happening. I want them to, I think they should and that everyone would benefit (audience, show and TV history) if they do, but I try to tamper my expectations and remember it might not happen. So the absolute certainty of some people that they never would, especially based on old illiberal notions that are no longer as relevant as they used to be... IDK, it just makes me want Buddie to go canon even more. A reminder that love is love and it’s stronger than any such notions.
I hope you have a great day, lovely! And here is my ask tag! xoxox

Spoilers for Lavender Letters Chapter 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It seems like we joked a little too close to the sun, my friend.
For context to anyone reading this Nari (@nikandrros) came up with the concept of this story while talking about Hidan and Hinata's relationship in Lavender Clouds. I have done several Akatsuki Character x Hinata stories since and the question was basically 'When is Hidan getting one?'
We started joking about it until I had too much plot for it to be a joke anymore. Everyone, thank her for her unhinged.
I know I already told you but I'm going to say it again: RATED M FOR MURDER!!!!!!!
This is a tag on originally a tag on the AO3 story because I thought it was funny. It's not rated M for mature themes, just the murder.
I love and I live for every single Neji you write because all of them are such grandmothers
Neji is the nosey older brother we all need in our lives.
"She had long since learned to read chicken scratch, or maybe he just got better with time." Yes, give me Hinata getting snarkier and snarkier after every interaction with Hidan, I so want to see it.
Hinata on a new brand of done with his shit before the ever meet in person.
I love Hidan's character because being either canon or fanon, I never know if he is insane or very, very sane. It fits him being insane if you're thinking about it like a normal person, but it also fits his personality to be very aware of everything and decide to go apeshit just because. Is he actually insane for thinking what he is doing is okay? This is a nice topic to think about and analyse, I think. Anyway, I stand with Hinata's canceled husband.
Hinata's canceled husband. XD
I actually like to think I got a nice blanced of Hidan being an unhinged weirdo and endearing as a male lead. I was worried I wouldn't be able to do it.
I think it's cute how Hidan waits for Hinata's letters like a dog waiting for the owner.
He wants attention too. Murder boi wants his letters damn it.
"He didn’t really care how she looked. It would make the mental picture more complete." Peak long-distance relationship dynamic, if you ask me.
Is this my long-distance relationship trope fic?
1. She already knows the worst of him, everyone knows the worst of him, but at least she isn't actively trying to fix him. And this is something I always say means love, that when someone knows you at your worst and about how horrible you can be and still chooses you, it means something. Not having to impress or scare someone off really lifts something off of you, I think. It's nice to be seen and tolerated, if not accepted.
I don't really like the 'I can fix him.' I very much prefer the 'he will fix himself when he find something worth it' or 'I love him the way he is. even if he is a pain in the ass'
They talked a lot. A lot, a lot. They talked so much Hinata could print a fucking book if she wanted. And Hidan just let it happen ¯_(ツ)_/¯ It seems the prude girl is getting to you, Hidan.
At what point did he think he was in too deep?
"Kakuzu liked one thing in life, money. It’s what got him in prison in the first place. An embezzlement case. He wasn't embezzling. He killed the man embezzling from him." Can't say he was wrong so I won't say it :D
Embezzlement -> murder pipeline
Tumblr media
Lavender Letters Pairing: Hidan x Hinata Rating: M for Violence and Strong Language
Description: Hinata signs up for a prison pen pal program and is assigned to Hidan, a serial killer known for his brutal murders. Hinata becomes friends with him despite his crass nature. And, oh yeah, they kill her father.

Smol, Ask Game - Yakuza I'm curious
So. Full disclosure. I've only played Kiwami and 0, and am like...most of the way through Kiwami 2? So any knowledge I have of the rest of the franchise is via Tumblr and reading Majima's Wiki page (that's how I got here) So do bear with me lol.
3 male characters I love: To the shock of no one, Goro Majima. RGG really just made The Best Fictional Character Ever and just use him less and less huh I KNOW a lot of the characterisation came LONG after the first 6 games but IT STILL STANDS. Also also, Akira Nishikiyama. I know I've been more stuck on him recently but he's shoved his way to the front of my brain, but I still love Majima. They are both my boyfriends <3. Now hmmm, who gets the third spot....I know he was around for MUCH less time than I thought he would be, but I'm gonna say Homare Nishitani. He's a fucked up horny freak, he's just ACTUALLY a mad bastard and he loves it and I love him for it. I genuinely wish we got to fight him more it also makes fic more difficult cause I'm like 'wait when can he show up how does Sunshine fit in WHAT IS THE TIMELI-'. He's great, even though that first fight was very fucking bitchy.
3 female characters I love: Bold of you to assume there's more than 3 characters for me to pick from. Nah but uhhhh, can we count Yuko Nishikiyama when all my love for her is basically based on my own personal headcanons and interpretations? Let's call her a bonus option. Obviously Makoto Makimura, like I don't think I need to explain that do I? I think I also have to go withhhh.... Hibiki-chan and Yuki-chan. The fucking LORE IMPLICATIONS of Goromi's dress being a custom-made pink-snakeskin version of Hibiki's outfit?? And she was probably one of the most in love with him, idk she's just very sweet I love her. And Yuki is so cringefail but she thinks she's girlboss, I love that. Honestly I love all the Sunshine girls, more importantly I love the 'spares', yknow, the Golds and Silvers and Bronzes but I've mentioned that before, I should give them their own post.
3 romantic ships I love: Good morning Majimako nation :) It's a ship that brings me nothing but pain in canon and I love them so much, so thank God for fic writers vbhjnbhjn. I say canon brings me pain but they're just so cute and they understand each other's pain in a way others can't and it's like...all Majima had to do was give her closure, yknow? There's such a tragedy to it but I love them all the same. Also shoutout to the 7 other Majinishiki shippers out there. Yes I just put my two favourite beautiful men together. But the more I think about it the more I'm like "oh but this could be SO GOOD" cause they're both assholes and would both dislike each other and reckon they're polar opposites, which they appear to be on the surface, but they're more similar than they think and the idea of them learning that and being like "oh wait a minute....oh hang on...". They could be fun and funny and beautiful and hot so yeah, I've gotten real into it lol. Now....you know, I could pick the obvious, but it's time to push another agenda: Majima x Dolly. Yep. As in Doll Girl's mum. Look her kid has already decided he's her new dad, why not make it official? I just think Dolly is super cute, she's one of my favourite girls, and idk man it's really cute even though 0 content exists gvbhnjbhjn
3 platonic dynamics I love: Yuki and Majima's sibling bond means the world to me. Two cringefail weirdgirls who take turns being weird. Like one does something weird/stupid and the other is like "bro what the fuck is wrong with you" but then they switch and it's a constant bickering back and forth but you can tell it comes from a place of affection, and at the end of the day they do have each other's backs. Speaking of siblings, Nishiki and Kiryu. Yeah took my time bringing up the fuckin' protagonist didn't I? For all my Complicated Feelings towards Kiryu, his brotherly connection to Nishiki is clearer in 0 than it is in Kiwami, but when it's there it's there, man. These boys have each other's backs, they're the closest family they have, and seeing it fractured so tragically is heartbreaking. I wish they had more Heat Actions but the one they do have is delightful. OH, sorry, I had to take a minute irl to think of another platonic dynamic and I remembered: Kiryu and Rina. Yeah, the lesbian hostess from Kiwami who got the job to look at cute girls! The one who told Kiryu he can be wooed by men if he wants and he told her to not judge girls on such a binary femme/butch scale (well, 'cute/not cute'). I loved going to chat with her, they're really sweet and fun. Genuinely quite heartfelt conversations and I'm surprised how like...idk, progressive their chats are? It's sweet.
3 favorite moments in canon: This is actually very tricky to me, I've never really thought about ranking moments. Like, the games are a matter of 'vibing vibing vibing do some substories that give us some fun Kiryu characterisation do some plot I don't understand or particularly care for HOLY SHIT SUDDENLY IT'S REALLY GOOD AND THERE'S SOME GOOD CHARACTER/REALLY FUCKING COOL ACTION SCENES vibing vibing vibing' In no particular order:
The bit where Nishiki fuckin shanks Matsushige. I KNOW his psyche is shattering before our very eyes, I KNOW it's him well and truly crossing the line but like....Goddamn. I cannot have stated multiple times I find it to be his pinnacle of beauty and NOT include it, surely.
The entire Goromi interaction. What starts as a joke quickly just becomes a very heartfelt, honest chat between the two characters, and gives us a very welcome insight into Majima and what she's like when she's not wearing the Mad Dog mask. The cowards should give us a Goromi dating game.
Oh it's GOTTA be Majima's introduction, right? I feel like I can't be a Majima or Yakuza fan and not mention his intro in 0. Just the shot of those iconic shoes, seeing how he handles the whole customer conflict and faces it with such humility and grace and showmanship ALL WHILST HATING IT???? BUT MAINTAINING THAT COMPOSURE AND HAVING FUN FUCKING WITH HIM WHERE HE CAN???? Holy hell. Does the bit where he learns Essence of Blade Biting count tho because that's a favourite for a DIFFERENT reas-. (But also his intro in Kiwami was my actual introduction to him and I fell in love with him then so *shrugs*)
3 favorite headcanons: How to narrow it down to just 3? Hmmm. Actually now I think about it suddenly Every Headcanon I've Heard Has Vanished gvbhnjmbhjn. I'm not very good at making my own or ranking them so uhhhhh. Okay okay:
Trans man Kiryu is canon in my head. Idk man it just feels right.
OH I REMEMBER!! So I don't give a FUCK what canon says, too many people tower over Kiryu for him to be 6 foot. So my actual height headcanons are that Nishiki is 5' 8" (good height) and Kiryu is 5' 10", whereas Majima gets to remain his full 6' 1" glory, however, he slouches a fair amount so people sometimes people forget how fucking tall he is, so when he straightens to his full height people are like oh FUCK. These heights also mean that Nishiki, Who Is Not Short, looks quite small compared to the two men lmao
Sure he's willing to hide in empty trashcans, giant traffic cones and potholes to get the jump on his Kiryu-chan, but Majima actually can't stand being dirty. (1 year of constant torture probably does that to you) He has about 10 different products in his bathroom, a very thorough and regular hair-and-skincare routine. Probably has a floral or citrussy undertone hiding under the smell of smoke, sweat and blood he usually has.
3 least favorite things about it: *sighs*. Okay: 1. Its treatment of female characters. See Exhibit A) Yuko. As we introduce more female characters I fear it'll only get worse. And the thing is, I quite like the women we get!! They just Keep Being The Same!!! Like can I have something beyond Hostess/Bar Employee Who Is Nice To Kiryu and preferably DOESN'T die with little fanfare or just get written out? Makoto probably got out of this the best but even then, not really imo?? She still had her agency taken from her in that last choice. Idk man that's the crux of it ain't it, these women having little agency beyond how to serve the men in the story.
2. I Do Not Care For These Main Plots. By that I mean I am FAR less interested in these bits of political intrigue/conspiracy and plot twists about who works for who because I simply forget who half of these cunts are and I don't actually care. I care about the relationships between the characters, which granted is a more personal taste, but it always feels like....they have something there, and they kinda know it? But not enough to give it the rich and in-depth exploration it deserves because it'd rather throw a twist my way that someone's actually Korean or something about Jingu. (NO SERIOUSLY WHO THE FUCK IS JINGU WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN KIWAMI?!?!?) It leads to Substory Kiryu and Main Story Kiryu being two different men in my head, and I much prefer one over the other
3. Kinda related to the treatment of female characters but like. The softcores. The telephone club minigame. The catfight club. MesuKing. Please stop. They're not sexy, they're not fun, they're just really uncomfortable. It doesn't help that the girl in the background for telephone club game is the fucking same but with a different bikini colour like would it KILL yall to get some body diversity?? Actually if you did that the joke would be she's fat and ugly hahahahaha so funny I loooove this I'm Having Fun Playing the game alongside bae and/or bestie honestly makes it more uncomfy, but watching softcores on my own for the sake of a substory somehow feels sadder. We started fuckin' reviewing them lmaooooo like "Okay THAT'S a pretty tasteful and sexy pose, I'll use that for ref. And now I don't know what she's doing. Please stop looking at me like that" etc etc. Basically anytime the game tries to offer me a 'sexy surprise' or a minigame with tits in it I'm just very uncomfortable. I visited that catfight club ONCE for the uh. Wait which Billionaire was it? GAMBLING KING!! Yeah him and then I never went back because why the hell would I, this is MesuKing But Even Worse. So yeah. Please stop. (I feel like they won't)
That was very long and rambly and probably more in-depth than ya wanted/expected, I'm sure others just write their faves and leave it at that lol. Despite my little experience with the franchise overall and my many issues and criticisms, I do actually quite like this franchise so far. By that I mean my brain has decided to adore Two Characters so I have a feeling I know what games will be my faves overall lol.
HOWEVER I'm actually really looking forward to playing 3 because it's got Mine in it and I've heard it's good, 4 gives us my boy Saejima who I'm excited to learn more about (and Akiyama?? I think?? Idk I'm pretty sure he sings Baka Mitai in 5 aka The Best Version of The Song). 5 introduces us to a Ms Mirei Park and BEFORE YOU ALL START: I'm reeeeally looking forward to making my own judgement because she's SO divisive as a character I cannot help but be fascinated. Ooh same with Yasuko in 4. I think I'm gonna like her, but I might not. Who knows?
And of course from the Entire Hour we played of 7 I already love Ichiban and I think he's gonna be my best friend ever, what a cutie. I'll even sit through turn-based combat for his sake (I KNOW SOME OF YALL LIKE IT AND I'M HAPPY FOR YOU I'VE JUST NEVER BEEN INTO JRPGS THE CLOSEST I'VE GOTTEN WAS POKEMON MOON WHICH I NEVER FINSIHED BUT THAT'S A STORY FOR ANOTHER TIME)
Anyway uh. Hope yall enjoyed my ramblings lol

001 pokemon specifically x and y bc im making you take pity on Kalos
Fine 🙄
Favorite character: Shauna because of the rivals she has the most discernible personality, she's pretty funny and likable. Diantha is very cool and very hot but really doesn't do enough or live up to her potential so. yeah idk I think Shauna
Least Favorite character: Lysandre makes my head hurt trying to understand what the fuck he's about. He makes me like Chairman Rose more by comparison and that says a lot
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): uuh Shauna/Serena is boutiqueshipping I think, right? Anyway, that's one. perfectworldshipping is pretty funny so that's another one. idk if phaesporiashipping counts cause Cynthia isn't actually in XY but if it counts then that. I don't know of any other Kalos ships sorry
Character I find most attractive: Diantha, I really love her design. The old movie star vibe she's got really does it for me. Plus she's Champion so like #girlboss even tho she's one of the easiest Champions to beat
Character I would marry: Diantha. See above
Character I would be best friends with: uuh... Diantha? I guess?
a random thought: I really don't dislike XY as much as I make it sound like lmao I don't dislike it at all really, it's just that there's nothing about it that makes me want to play it over any other Pokemon game. Like I just don't Care about it is all
An unpopular opinion: Here's a big one, I never liked megas. A mechanic that only benefits like 30 out of hundreds of Pokemon, most of them being Pokemon that were already strong and popular anyway, was never that interesting to me for a casual playthrough, and only like 5 megas were even viable in competitive so it wasn't any more interesting there. And none of the Pokemon who got megas were gen 6 Pokemon despite the mechanic being introduced in gen 6? not even the starters? Oh no but lets give megas to the Kanto starters, hell lets give our special little guy Charizard two. come on. At least the Galar starters got gigantamaxes eventually and there were still plenty of gen 8 Pokemon that had them from the start. Also literally the only one that looks good is Mega Sableye, and that's just because it's regular Sableye but with ruby eyes and a big gem to hide behind. Every other mega is at best Fine and at worst ugly as shit, because the design philosophy for megas seemed to be "it's [Pokemon] but cooler, and cooler means busier". Have you seen mega Garchomp? Have you seen what they did to my boy? Disgusting. I never want to see it again.
My Canon OTP: "otp" is too strong a word for it but boutiqueshipping. That fireworks scene was so romantic coded this IS canon idc
My Non-canon OTP: phaesporiashipping. I just think Diantha and Cynthia should kiss
Most Badass Character: Diantha, at least in theory
Most Epic Villain: no. I am not giving Lysandre and credit lmao
Pairing I am not a fan of: I really don't know enough of the Kalos pairings to know which ones I don't like specifically, if it's obviously gross and bad for the obvious reasons etc etc then yeah throw it all out but like I don't Know
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): LYSANDRE. Also Diantha. How did they set her up to have an opposite philosophy to Lysandre in her first scene and then just never have her play a part in anything involving him later
Favourite Friendship: Shauna and Serena I guess, or Shauna and whatever the male player character was if you prefer. Calem? yeah
Character I most identify with: Sycamore because I am also a dumb idiot villain apologist
Character I wish I could be: I would sooner die than be French
