Okay. First post trying to use gifs properly. I've switched out improper gifs for these type for my last 3-4 posts. Gonna work on some more corrections tomorrow when I have time. Please let me know if I'm misstepping anywhere. Thanks for your patience! That said...

LET'S TALK ABOUT SYLVIE💕, INTERSECTIONAL FEMINISM (SYLVIE & LOKI)✊🏽, AND QUEER REPRESENTATION (LOKIUS)🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️!

SYLVIE

I'm rooting for Lokius, AND I also love how much Sylvie has forged a life for herself in S2. A lot of her development is implied, so I think it's worth looking at her growth outside the context of Loki himself: She found a job, locals know her by name, she has friends and acquaintances, she has hobbies!

People call her by name in her timeline on 4 occasions:

1. When the McDonald's shift manager (John) checks in on her after work. See the kid with the tie in the image below. I couldn't find any gifs of him visiting Sylvie at her truck. She asked him if his mom was gonna pick him up to make sure he was gonna be okay late at night. 🥹

2. When a customer picks up their McDonald's order and thanks her (cheerfully). Also note how many employee stars she had on her badge! Queen.

3. Lyle at the record store. They seem like really good friends, and I got the "beginnings of an attraction" vibe between the two of them. Unfortunately, the gifs below are the only ones I could find of him and I'm still searching for the source. His interaction with Sylvie before spaghetti-trauma was so sincere. He could tell she was down and offered her Velvet Underground. Come on, that's a solid move.

4. Eric at the bar, who comments 2 shots of bourbon is a good choice. Let me tell you, finding a gif of Eric was like finding a needle in a haystack, but here he is leaning close to Sylvie. Thank you, @zehiiro!

I tried to find more gifs of all the people Sylvie has in her life but couldn't find any, which is a darn shame because there are so many subtle cues she's built a support system on her own and she's thriving.

She's a regular at many places in her timeline, and when people greet her, they do so with a smile. She loves music, a hard drink, and punk fashion.

When she engages with Loki, she may come across as cold, but I honestly think she's being firm with her boundaries and true to her beliefs. The TVA threatened her life for centuries. I don't doubt setting foot in the building is traumatic for her, which may explain why she was more harsh than usually in S2E4. Her psychological defenses were all on overdrive. Yet when Sylvie's in her own timeline, far away from the TVA, she can be her real self. Turns out, her real self is pretty well-liked! (I'll talk about how this is mirrored in Loki soon).

INTERSECTIONAL FEMINISM

Sylvie's an unapologetically "selfish" woman who knows what she wants, wants it on her own, is doing it on her own, and isn't afraid to put her foot down when it comes to her personal boundaries. We should be applauding all of that!

This is exactly the kind of female representation we need, but the show did Sylvie a disservice in S1 by coming at her character as a love interest first (look at all the media promos classifying her as such) instead of more thoughtfully showing how badly she has been affected by the TVA and planting what her desires are throughout. If they had done this with more intention and finesse, her position in S2 wouldn't come off as completely irresponsible.

As a result of this apparent marketing and pre-production development decision, her perception as a character (by both lokius and sylki shippers) is muddled by the question of her relationship status with Loki. This truly isn't fair, most especially to Sophia Di Martino.

Of course, Sylvie isn't perfect. No well-written character should be. I just think she's cooler than she gets credit for precisely because her character arc doesn't require the fulfillment of a romance. She will be fine whether or not she ends up with Loki. It's very feminist!

Loki, in turn, found safety, belonging, and love at the TVA. All the things that are the complete opposite of Sylvie's lived experience. I often see fans complaining about how Loki is ooc in his own series.

The thing is, and Loki admits this himself: it's all part of an illusion.

This illusion started far before the first Thor movie. He comes from a hyper-masculine (dare I say toxic-masculine) warrior society. His true nature doesn't conform with this, so he has to overcompensate with some (genuinely awesome) bad assery.

BUT he doesn't like it.

As a comparison to a far lesser but more relatable degree: imagine putting on a customer service persona 24/7. UGH. It's just not sustainable without becoming increasingly angry and bitter, which is what Sacred Timeline Loki becomes. Mobius gets ahead of this.

In the series, Loki can finally TURN OFF that persona, and TURN IT ON again when it's needed (and fun!).

He also now has the freedom to be silly, expressive, and magical (unapologetically queer!) without anyone making fun of him for it.

The end result is a much calmer, happier, likable person (like Sylvie in her timeline, his defenses are no longer on overdrive!). Who shows him this is possible?

QUEER REPRESENTATION

Sociopoliticaly, Loki and Mobius come from a different angle. A lot of men (cis, fluid, trans, or otherwise) struggle with the social expectation of burying feelings and never ever showing vulnerability, especially to another men. Now, some might argue that shipping men together perpetuates this construct. There's some truth to this, but only through the lens that it is shameful to be gay. In order to get to a point in society where there's no shame in being mistaken as gay (or queer, generally) when being affectionate with another man, there must be continuous positive representation of homosexual relationships in which the characters are not stereotypes. Loki and Mobius are exactly this, especially Mobius.

Whereas Loki, on Asgard, represents the openly queer oppressed (i.e. magic and cunning, qualities historically tied to witches or "immoral women" instead of brute strength), Mobius can represent the closeted repressed.

In S1, Mobius was much more uptight, rule-abiding, and just shy of holier-than-thou. The power structure in which he existed perpetuated this, until Loki reveals to him it was all a lie (an illusion).

In S2, he becomes more flexible, more fun-loving, and more expressive in his affection. In S1, most of his support of Loki manifested as words of affirmation. In S2, his support extended to physical touch and bonding. Mobius, if seen through the lens of a closeted man allegory, finds the courage (and partner) to slowly come out.

Can the same parallel of Thor and Jane be made for Loki and Sylvie the way you are making for Loki and Mobius? I'm genuinely curious. Do you think the show in its writing and direction makes that parallel?

Didn't Sylvie change Loki the way Jane changed Thor? In his own words, made them soft.

I think the way Tom and Owen play Loki and Mobius makes it very clear that the parallel is between them and not Loki and Sylvie. From the very first episode, Mobius is the only one who sees Loki differently, who sees him for who he really is and believes in his capacity for good. Before Loki even meets Sylvie, he spends time with Mobius in episode 2 and learns what it means to have a genuine friend who trusts you and doesn’t expect you to be anything besides yourself. Because everyone in Loki’s life had always based his worth on a throne, on his ability to be a worthy prince and live up to the image of Thor and Odin and then here comes this soft analyst who has seen everything Loki has ever done and says ‘you’re not a villain’ and ‘you could be anything you want to be, even someone good.’

The impact of having that one person believe in him is enough to allow Loki to realize that his worth isn’t tied to a throne and that trusting other people doesn’t have to make him vulnerable. With Sylvie, I think Loki was starting to learn what it meant to love himself, in the sense that he started feeling protectiveness and affection toward her and had no context for that feeling as someone who has always felt only shame and hatred for himself. However, Sylvie never transformed him like Mobius did. Sylvie was so blinded by her trauma and her need for revenge that she was literally incapable of trusting anybody. Loki says this to her in 1x6 and then Sylvie uses his feelings to manipulate him so she can achieve her own goal. Sylvie never truly cared about anyone besides herself, which is shown in season 2 when Loki has to constantly ask her to return to the TVA and only gets her to help once her own timeline is destroyed. Loki never stops trying to save the TVA, and it’s all because he knows Mobius was happy there and he wants his friends to be happy again.

Sylvie on the other hand is actively trying to stop him and they are constantly opposing each other the entire season. Note that after this line, when Loki says he wants his friends back, he is by definition referring to everyone besides Sylvie because they are the only two who know what really happened at this point and Sylvie made it clear she wants to be left in her timeline alone.

Finally, Loki explicitly references Mobius’ impact on him later in the episode, just before Mobius asks if Loki is really his friend. Loki makes it clear here that Mobius’ belief in him was something he had never even considered before, that the power of that belief had changed his entire perspective.

Loki and Sylvie never have anything close to this type of transformative relationship and the way that Mobius changed him directly inpsired his actions throughout the entirety of season 2. Through Mobius, Loki found people he could care about, he realized his self-worth, and he found the strength to sacrifice for others, all things that Sylvie never taught him. If you imagine taking either Mobius or Sylvie out of the equation, it’s clear that Loki’s growth and journey to his own glorious purpose was made possible by his relationship with Mobius and how he was changed by it.

I know we're all going through the trenches rn with sylki but I appreciate the fact that they're giving Sylvie personal growth and letting her face her anger and trauma by herself instead of making it about her relationship with Loki.

Like at the end where she says to Ravonna that the obsession with wanting revenge on her is debilitating, she gets to realise that on her own, she gets to realise that after finally having some peace in her "normal" life. She gets to make the choice of whether or not she will be part of the cyclical problem by facing Timely.

Sylvie finally gets the free will she's been fighting for as long as she's been alive. And she gets to do it by herself and for herself, not necessarily because of love.

Weekend Update 02/25/2024

Pirates have scurvy and Pedro is well nourished so none of that. Other ideas for his characters. Ezra and Pero might have scurvy though. I did manage to write some this week. It's been busy. 👀 Ugh...real life stuff. Nothing major. Just needs to be done.

What on the docket for this week Nerdie?

Part three of the Javi G summer romance

Maybe...Roc & Doc part three I don't like sitting on finished parts but then I whine about having no motivation for the next part. 👀 I make no sense.

March is toward the end of the week so my March Spring Prompts will start! I scheduled the first six days I think. I got anxious about getting behind (which isn't the point of doing them but anxiety doesn't care) and did some in advance. I like how they're coming along and that they're short. Unlike this update. 🤣 They won't have summaries, but will have warnings, tags and notes.

And because I hear series and I think "I should start another one!" I decided to write an Ezra series. How did I happen upon our favorites prospector/scoundrel/reluctant father figure? I've been reading works by @morallyinept @maggiemayhemnj and @magpiepills

Ezra intimidated me because of his language, but actually, I think I'd get along with him because he puts on a persona with a great deal of performance. It's the audience's job to figure out if you're serious or not. Or at least that's how I approached him. 🤨 This could go badly. I stuck him on the bayou with an air boat and I want him to cook gumbo. *full delusional achievement unlocked*

Thinking about the colors of Loki. Brown is definitely meant to be Mobius' color. It symbolizes reliability, warmth, and earthiness. And that earthiness? It meshes very with the positive aspects of Loki's green (growth, life, nature, harmony, fertility). So, it makes sense that when Loki and Mobius are their best selves, there's this harmonious and almost symbiotic growth that happens, not unlike the symbiosis between plants and the earth they take their nutrients from, earth which has, in turn, been fertilized by other plants.

Of course, the negative part of that is the potential for codependency - you introduce some poison to the soil and it infects the plant and vise versa. Imo, we see that a bit with the torture scene. That scene was great if you're a Loki enjoyer/apologist because, hey, turns out his partner is not only ok with the darker aspects of Loki's personality, he also maybe has some of them himself. However, it also showed us that both Loki and Mobius can do terrible things and be ok with them as long as the other agrees it's a good idea. When Loki and Mobius are working for good, they're great. But if they went bad together, things could get very dark very quickly. I think we also see that a bit in their last scene together, with Loki purposefully choosing a Mobius who is still pruning variants when he wants his blessing to kill Sylvie (who represents a part of Loki).

(Notably, though, with Sylvie's inspiration, Loki is able to choose a different path, and to grow in a way that gives Mobius the chance to grow as well, their positive symbiotic relationship intact - I particularly love that it's past Loki who inspires present Loki's heroism).

It's why I really liked the idea of Mobius, Loki, and Sylvie running the TVA together because Loki and Mobius need that voice outside their little couple bubble to say "hey, guys, this is a terrible idea." Ironically, when Loki and Mobius aren't together, they each tend to be the person in conflict with the systems around them. But they don't like to truly be in conflict with each other (the bickering is almost never serious), so they're each very accommodating of the other and his needs, which is great until...torture.

Anyway, to bring it back, I've always thought that green is a really great color for Loki specifically because it has a very strong duality of psychological meaning. Additionally, its darker meanings (jealousy, envy, materialism) are as well represented in popular culture as its positive ones. Brown has a similar clear duality, though its positive aspects aren't necessarily as easily recognized as its negatives. Which is very like Mobius himself.

Modern Heathenry 101

Hi folks! I've updated my blog to include a heathenry 101 tag. I also worked on summarizing how I view modern heathenry from a US-based, progressive perspective:

Who is allowed to practice heathenry?

Everyone! Heathenry is not a closed practice. Regardless of your gender, age, orientation, race, cultural background, physical or mental abilities, or any other factor–you are welcome, appreciated, and loved by the gods.

What is heathenry?

Heathenry is an animistic belief system where we honor our ancestors, gods within the Norse pantheon, and the elemental spirits all around us. There is no one centralized heathen faith, and traditions will vary largely depending on community, region, and era. There are no sacred texts, though many heathens read the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda to get an introduction to our gods (as they are depicted in myths and sagas).

Who do you worship?

Details vary based on the individual or community, but generally speaking heathens honor gods within the Norse pantheon.

This pantheon includes: Odin, Frigg/Freyja, Freyr, Thor, Tyr, Njord, Loki, Hel, and many more. Each of these figures is dynamic and cannot be boiled down to a simple “god of ___” label. Some heathens exclusively worship patron deities to whom they feel a special connection and sense of dedication, while other heathens maintain relationships with numerous deities.

Ancestor work can be general or highly specific. Heathens may offer prayers to the Disir, female spirits of the family who help carry traditions, memories, and connections alive throughout the generations. Heathens may also opt to honor individual ancestors with whom they share a strong connection. In any instance, it is love not blood which constitutes ancestry. Many heathens feel drawn to honor “cultural” ancestors rather than blood-relatives (example: a heathen who is Black or LGBTQIA+ may feel drawn towards honoring a deceased activist or fellow community member).

What are some things which constitute a modern practice?

Many heathens practice group ritual while others are solitary. Every group will follow different traditions but common ones include:

holiday rituals

symbels (opportunities to toast one another and our accomplishments)

blots (specialized rituals dedicated to a specific deity)

ceremonies (weddings, funerals, and things of that nature)

In their day-to-day lives heathens will often wear a Mjolnir pendant as a reminder of the gods’ most prized gift and the source of their protector’s strength (Thor’s hammer).

Heathens will typically have at least one altar space in their homes. This can be used to honor deities, ancestors, or other figures. Altars vary dramatically in terms of appearance–some are minimalist and simple while others are lavishly decorated. This depends largely on personal preference, budget, availability of materials, and personal security (unfortunately, some heathens cannot safely set up an altar in their current living situation). Another option is the use of a pocket-altar, sometimes called a travel-altar.

What holidays do you observe?

Holidays historically varied depending on location. Typically these holidays relate to concepts of growth, gratitude, and reflection. There is not one set list of holidays which all heathens celebrate, but there do tend to be commonalities:

Holidays that take place in spring will tend to honor gods who represent youth, new beginnings, and hope.

Holidays in summer tend to celebrate growth, hard work, and fertility.

Holidays in the autumn are typically opportunities to celebrate the accomplishments we’ve made throughout the year as well as to prepare for the darker, colder times ahead.

Holidays in the winter tend to relate to reflection and thinking about things we can shed or invite as the new year begins.

Holidays can be celebrated individually or as part of a group. Here are some of the holidays my group observes.

What are some common symbols or visuals related to heathenry?

Many heathens view Mjolnir (Thor’s hammer) as the main symbol signifying their faith. This is typically worn as a necklace, though heathens may wear one in a myriad of different ways or not at all.

Elder futhark runes are also common symbols associated with heathenry. The futhark are representative of the sacred runes our god Odin learned during a journey of self-sacrifice and searching for spiritual wisdom. Many heathens use these runes for divination purposes or to receive messages from our gods and ancestors, while others do not interact with the runes in a spiritual sense.

There are other symbols associated with heathenry that have been appropriated by white supremacists. These include the runes Othala, Sowilo, and Elhaz; the Valknut; and sometimes even Mjolnir itself. These images are not inherently harmful, and many heathens feel it is our duty to combat this appropriation by showing these symbols in their proper, progressive contexts.

Despite the cover photo they are using, there's not another fun Tom and Owen interview on this, there's no interviews with Owen at all and they've edited in a way to say only S*lvie made Loki a better person.

I truly despise the way Marvel and the Loki creators act as if Mobius has no influence on Loki's growth in this show, despite their relationship being the show and especially the second season. They constantly make it all about S*lvie and say that Mobius is just a cop who likes jet skis.

Loki's journey on the show doesn't happen without the constant care and encouragement from Mobius and complete trust between Loki and Mobius. Thank God Tom Hiddleston always brings the conversation back to Mobius because for some bizarre reason, the rest of them want to act as if that's not what they put in the show. I just don't get it.

Hello there!

I have to ask cause it's everywhere and apparently my husband and I didn't see it!

Aziraphale & Crowley were obvious to us as a couple but we didn't see this with Loki & Mobius (please people don't be mad 🙃). I saw a great love and a bond that will last forever but not the way we witnessed in Good Omens. To me it was more of a family thing. Like Mobius has two sons. Could be the representation of Thor and Loki. I don't know. I was so surprised when I saw all this on Tumblr. I want to rewatch the show now to see if I really missed all the signs.

Hi there! 😊 Thank you for the ask and please don't worry for wondering, part of the joy in a watching experience is being able to see something in a completely new light. I hope you've come to the right place as Lokius and Aziraphale/Crowley are the only romantic pairings that have stood out to me in ages but now for fairly different reasons so I'll do my best to explain why in my own personal view Lokius is a slow burn for the ages above and beyond all other love stories to me and I'd absolutely recommend rewatching Loki, especially season 2, with the mindset that the tropes of every good romance are present in *every* interaction Loki and Mobius have.

(adding a read more here as I feel this is about to get almost horrifically long if you'd like to know even some of the signs lol)

Right from the start we see Mobius recounting being a fan of Loki's most mischievous acts on the timeline, pushing the question of just why he's focused on ruling and nothing else, really getting under his skin in a way no one ever has before?? And in that there's something even better and deeper than love at first sight; intrigue. Loki's furious at being held by the TVA but can't help being drawn back to what an enigma Mobius is to brush off his insults and offer salvation in the face of knowing every good or bad thing Loki's ever done and believing in him anyway.

Cue the tentative partnership and rapport they both get far too comfortable in which you see when Mobius indulges in letting Loki ruin the mission at the renaissance fair and later tries to backtrack in reassuring Ravonna he's got things under control, then again when Loki realizes Mobius has been reading him too well and defaults to leaning in to "fix" his perfectly tied tie, a callback to when Mobius pointed out Loki has a tendency to try and seduce people in more powerful positions who could help him. You actually see Mobius lean in for a moment before realizing himself and pulling back, but contrary to everyone else Loki's tried this with he doesn't give in or get angry, he laughs and once again points out what Loki's up to, trying to find a way to get to the Timekeepers.

That entire sequence is the tipping point for me when they officially enter romantic territory, as Loki's visibly thrown and surprised by the way Mobius reacts and scrambles after him, finally taking things seriously enough to do real work and is rewarded not only with trust he's never been given so freely before but a now mutual fascination you see during their conversation in the cafeteria (a highlight of the series for me ) when Loki can't help but try and learn more about the person who knows him so well already by asking genuinely about Mobius and his jet ski magazine. Blew me away because any previous version of Loki would've never taken the time or interest in something so ridiculous (in his eyes), but this Loki shyly takes in the way Mobius beams and opens up, because how could you not fall a little when such a simple pleasure makes someone happy?

Then when they research Roxxcart they flirt again, Mobius praising Loki and teasing he might take his job before what we refer to as the Roxxcart grocery store divorce and for good reason 😂 When Loki's captured back to the TVA, Mobius isn't just hurt, he's clearly jealous and *extremely* so because he thought *they* had been building something only to now think Loki played him all along and during Loki's next interrogation Mobius loses his temper in a way he never has before, making scathing comments about Loki stabbing him in the back and siding with his "girlfriend" which should kind of speak for itself there 😅 Then their mutual assurance of trust before Mobius is pruned and the hug in the void being initiated by Loki is huge as well when this is the first time he's shared EVER that with someone and you see the crushing despair when Mobius later no longer remembers.

Getting into s2, it's easier for me to sum up with the base of their s1 relationship laid out since there's no need to get into as much detail when the entire thing is pure romance start to finish.

Loki and Mobius frantically desperate to find each other when in reality they had been separated for maybe an hour? Mobius ignoring all other issues at hand and his superiors to gently hold Loki by the waist and pull him close, constantly grounding by touching his back, arms, anywhere to provide extra comfort and Loki giving him that control, Mobius spending the entire season actively trying to enjoy being on the field without limits for a change and organizing dates between the two of them all season when his focus used to primarily be on the work. He repeatedly asks Loki to go for a drink, suggests visiting the theatre, going on a hot air balloon ride, etc, while Loki stops to indulge in popcorn and pies just because small joys are important to Mobius. When Loki visits Mobius' original timeline self they spend the ENTIRE ep flirting with each other, and honestly Don having two kids is just as it seems since there were no official indications otherwise; he may share genes with Mobius but is a different person with a different life. Don can't stop bringing up how single he is, teases Loki about following him home, which Loki absolutely did but only after fixing his hair and coat to try and look as good as possible before seeing him (because again, he looks like Mobius) and getting so flustered stammering over his words he may as well have been in a 90s Hugh Grant rom com 😂😂

Don't even get me started on the finale, which has every character except Loki and Mobius basically living their ideal life while the two of them are clearly left unfulfilled and wanting, missing each other to the point Mobius leaves the TVA (which exists out of time) for a timeline that Loki can see as a tear rolls down Loki's face in the final scene because of it.

Do I think that had their characters been tied to anyone but the Disney/Marvel corporations they, like Aziraphale and Crowley, would've shared a kiss as well? Absolutely yes, but that isn't a necessity for me personally and in all honesty despite Aziraphale and Crowley having kissed I actually felt season 2 of Good Omens was a massive backtrack for their relationship compared to the quality of time they spent together in season 1 which I much preferred. Again, that's personal preference and everyone sees and interprets elements of romance differently which is completely fine and I hope this wild ramble at least gave some perspective on how I and many others view Lokius 😂💖 Happy watching, no matter how you end up viewing them, and thank you again for the ask!

Hi! Can I ask for a teen!reader who recently got “adopted” by the ror family but doesn’t necessarily accept it at first?

Like they refuse to listen to rules, doesn’t refer to them as family,sneaks out of the house, etc. Mostly reactions from Loki, Adam, Eve, Shiva, Buddha, Hermes, Jack + anybody else(if you want)

-You had been through several foster homes, each one worse than the last, after you kept running away from them, finding them just as abusive as your family, reporting them to your case worker.

-You did well in keeping others out of situations like that, and in turn made the screening process much more difficult for families to foster, as many were only doing it for the added money, not caring at all for the children they were welcoming into their homes.

-When your caseworker told you that you had been adopted, you were stunned, as nobody in their right mind would adopt a teenager without fostering first, at least anything that you had seen in your life.

-This new family was massive, over twenty members easily, warriors, gods, and valkyries, all of them very powerful looking, but all seemed to welcome you warmly to your new home.

-You kept your guard up, keeping to yourself, waiting for the moment any of them show any signs of abuse or neglect, then you were running straight to your case worker. You’ve dealt with it enough; you were never going to let anyone hurt you ever again.

-They could all tell you didn’t trust them, but they had all been made aware of your track record, about your previous homes and how they treated you, so anyone in their right mind would be guarded and scared.

-Loki, Raiden, and Ares compared you to a feral kitten, bristly and angry, but Eve and Parvati were easily able to tell that you had a kind heart inside of you, one that you were safeguarding.

-You tested the waters, acting out a bit, not abiding by the rules, like going out after dark, sneaking out, and when someone would tell you that as your family, they were worried about you, you would always bite back with, “You’re not my family!”

-It was hard for everyone, as they knew you were testing them, making sure that you were really safe, and you felt guilty for making some of them upset, like Eve when she brought you some fruit while you were studying, patting your head gently while praising you, but when she touched you, you flinched, telling her not to touch you, your voice cold.

-Adam wanted to scold you, until he saw that your hands were shaking, as you were trying not to cry, you had been startled when she touched you, as the last person to touch you didn’t have a gentle touch like she did.

-You were scared of opening up, despite this being the first and only place you felt safe at, you felt like you belonged, as any of your family members would try to include you on activities, like going out, even if it was just to the grocery store, or if you wanted to pick vegetables in the garden, they made you feel welcome.

-The thought of losing this place, this home, scared you, and many of the older warriors and gods could see you slowly softening up, testing the waters with opening up a bit more.

-You still flinched when they would touch you, like patting your head, which angered them, furious that someone as young as you had dealt with the abuse you had gone through, but you were willing to sit with others now, watching movies, playing board games, and even helping out with chores.

-They knew, going into this, that this wasn’t going to be easy, and it hasn’t been, not for anyone, but with baby steps, you stopped acting out and breaking rules, but you were still hesitant about calling any of them family.

-Adam and Eve- Were proud of your growth and seeing you open up around them showed them that you were actually a very bright and loving person, always willing to have fun but headstrong at times. The day they took you out, just for coffee, you thanked them, “Thanks…mama…papa.” They were both stunned before Eve lit up, hugging you tightly while Adam looked ready to keel over, clutching at his chest, overwhelmed with happiness. You pouted, trying to act tough, “Don’t-don’t make such a big deal out of it!” which they thought was cute.

-Loki- Threw you off initially, as he was the one helping you sneak out, encouraging you to act out, as he knew what you were doing, and at first you thought it was a trick, like he was helping you just to get you into trouble. You learned that wasn’t the case, as he was a gremlin and liked causing trouble and was happy to help you cause trouble. Would always ask if you wanted to get in on pranks and normally you refused, but the day you agreed he grinned so brightly before he got yelled at for tainting you.

-Buddha- Was laid back with you, he made you feel at ease, and you were the only person he shared all of his snacks with, even his favorite cola flavored chups, which was unheard of, and Loki pouted so much that it made you laugh for the first time when you teased him. Buddha hid his anger well, furious about what had happened to you, but he was one of the ones who was the gentlest with you, letting you come to him, and he watched you go from a feral kitten to a slightly grumpy kitten, but it was a work in progress.

-Shiva- Was one of the ones who had the most trouble dealing with you, as he wanted you to get to know him and his wives along with the other members of the family, only to be greeted with hostility. He had a rough time keeping his temper in check but the one time he yelled at you after you snuck out, because he was worried about you, he hugged you so tightly, seeing the fear in your eyes. He didn’t want you to be afraid of him. He did back off a bit, accepting your daily refusals when he would ask if you wanted to go and do something, either just with him or with his wives and Ganesha. The day you agreed to help him and his wives in the garden, to collect veggies and pull weeds, he was celebrating on the inside, it was a small but meaningful win.

-Hermes- Took your actions and reactions to certain things seriously, he knew you were damaged and hurting, and he didn’t want to scare or hurt you. Could see how you carried yourself, scared and guarded while you were acting out, he was one of the first ones to realize that you were acting out on purpose, testing them, and Hermes took it in stride, not giving in and always keeping a level head. He was one that you warmed up to more quickly than others, mainly because he was always calm and wasn’t loud. He was easy to get along with as he didn’t pressure you into doing anything, Hermes was the one to ask you if he could go get coffee with you and the first one you said yes to.

-Jack- Knew what you were feeling from the moment he first laid eyes on you, your colors were a disgusting blend of fear and anger, colors that didn’t belong on a child. As you spent more time with them, he saw your colors morphing into hesitance, curiosity, sadness, guilt, but the day he saw happiness slowly peeking in, after you agreed to have afternoon tea with him at his favorite café, complete with tea cakes, was a day he knew that you were slowly healing. He never pressured you into anything, except talking about your feelings from time to time, it was pointless hiding it from him, as he could see the truth, but he allowed you to come to him, which you appreciated.

-Odin- Was fully ready to raze the earth and go after those who hurt you, and several more were on board with his plans and to be honest, you were actually pretty curious if they were going to do it, then pouted lightly when they didn’t, something Odin noticed. Was definitely one of the ‘family members’ you were more hesitant around, due to his side and that he always seemed to be glaring, until Loki told you that it was because Odin only had one eye and can’t see for shit out the other. You watched Odin chase Loki around the neighborhood for what felt like hours, you did think it was rather funny; when Odin came back inside he ruffled your hair gently and told you to go get Loki out of the tree he was hiding in.

Well, after watching a recap of the first episode of season 2 of "Loki" (because I'm not paying Disney for anything at this point), I can pretty much confirm everything I said in my previous post. This show isn't about Loki at all. It's about the multiverse and just a set up for the next Avengers movie. Why is Loki even necessary as the main character, I wonder. They're just using him, and calling the show "Loki" to capitalize on his popularity, and that's about it. But otherwise, this show has nothing to do with him personally, as a character. It's got nothing to do with his own, personal growth. It's got nothing to do with his own, personal struggles. It's got nothing to do with his actual history within the MCU. It's just a bunch of mumbo-jumbo about the multiverse and Kang and the branching timelines. This is part of Marvel's problem these days. Everything is just a set up for the next movie or the next show. Instead of focusing on just telling good stories with the characters they're using, about the characters they're using, it all has to be a prelude to some big, universe spanning BS event.

They also had a scene, apparently, where Loki gets into an argument with Mobius about who "won" the fight between him and Sylvie at the end of the first season, and of course Mobius has to say it was Sylvie who won, while Loki gets all defensive and tries to claim it was a draw, because she's just better at everything than Loki, and Loki is an insecure, narcissistic little bitch. She's the better one. Obviously.

I heard that Loki doesn't get AS emasculated in this season as the first, but that's a pretty low bar to clear, since every other scene in the first season was him getting emasculated.

Also, it's just, every clip I've watched from this season still has Loki acting out of character. Why the hell does he RUN from the TVA agents in that scene in the hallway. He doesn't have that power repressing collar on. He should easily handle their asses. But as usual, Loki has no power when it's inconvenient for him to. And like, look, I love Tom Hiddleston. I think he's an amazing actor. But they're obviously directing him to try and be "funny", and it's lending an exaggerated, unnatural quality to his acting. It's been this way since the first season, and really since the dumpster fire that was "Ragnarok", where his movements are these over the top, exaggerated gestures, his line delivery has this forced, fake quality. His expressions look more like he's pulling faces than conveying any sort of nuanced or subtle emotion. It just feels like he's satirizing Loki instead of actually becoming Loki, and it sucks. I don't feel like I'm watching Loki, I feel like I'm just watching Tom Hiddleston acting like an idiot. Loki shouldn't be this clownish character. He can be funny, but his humor should always be understated, because Loki himself is an understated character. A master manipulator, someone who's always several steps ahead of everyone else, someone who's smarter than everyone else, someone who relies on trickery and deceit and misdirection to get what he wants done. Not this flailing around, desperate, overly emotional cry baby that they've made him into. It's unbearable to watch, and it's had a negative impact on Tom Hiddleston's acting to boot.

Summary : A horrible nightmare fuels your insecurities yet again. Loki thinks he has the perfect solution but his plan is interrupted by the news of Mrs Geller's accident.

Trigger Warning: 18+, foursome (but not in the kinky manner) , HUGE Canon divergence (Just me making shit up), Dalia, Reader needs to seek professional help for her trust issues, topics dealing with cheating and falling out of love, timey wimey stuff again (yeah I didn't forget about the main plot you guys)

Note : This chapter was the most personal and pretty difficult to write but it was important for her growth.

You could hear the sound of his moans coming from his room and your heart clenched, why was he moaning that way? You weren't there with him then who was making him feel that way? You trusted him, you really wanted to believe that he won't hurt you like that but then you heard a woman's cry of pleasure and your heart stopped. You slowly opened the door to his room and found him on the bed, all bare, and he wasn't alone, and he wasn't with just one woman either.

There was Dalia in front of him, sucking his cock and making him emit those noises that you thought only you owned, your eyes welled up as you glanced at his face, you recognised that look, he was enjoying it you could tell.

"Tell me..did she ever please you like this?" Dalia asked him so he snickered, his chest was heaving in a hypnotic rhythm, you wanted to hate him , he was breaking your heart so cruelly but you couldn't stop admiring his beautiful features, he was yours, he promised to be yours then what happened? You always feared you weren't enough and all your fears had come true to life.

"Never, she couldn't please a man to save her life. She doesn't compare to you, any of you, she's beneath me and all my darlings over here, she truly means nothing to me now"

The words cut you deeply and you gasped as you could hear the sound of your own heart breaking over and over again. He looked at you finally and instead of showing the signs of feeling remorse or pity even he smiled, he felt happy as if he was free to do whatever he desired now. He turned his head and kissed Darcy, then he turned to the other side and kissed Atrishia, they all clung around his body like snakes as he pleased them just the way they wanted.

"I thought you loved me lo…why are you doing this to me?" You screamed at him, the world around you started to spin and your chest felt constricted, you couldn't breathe, you couldn't take the betrayal, he was your best friend, how could he do this to you?

"You burdened me and you bored me to death y/n, now fucking get out of here"

He spat venomously and you wanted to run away but your feet felt stuck, your body was paralyzed, you couldn't breathe, you couldn't breathe at all.....

Loud sound of the alarm made you wake up suddenly, you looked at the ceiling but your brain felt deprived of the oxygen, you felt as if you were holding on to your breath for too long. You took a deep breath as you sat up and that's when the dam broke and you burst into a fit of cries, the vivid dream was still a fresh in your head.

You could see it clearly, your Loki with those women, the cruel words that he spoke to you the way he put you down in front of them, it was just a nightmare and that made you feel slightly better but it was still the worst you had ever felt after a nightmare. What if those nightmares were to come true the way your dreams did in the previous timeline?

Once your breathing had leveled you looked at the clock and it was 3:30 already, you barely had gotten any sleep and the way you have been obsessing over the female attention he had around him you knew something like this was bound to happen.

How much reassurance did you need from him? You sighed as you pondered over the thought and got off the bed to get ready. Once you were dressed up for the day you ran to the kitchen the tower had on every floor and made yourself a cup of coffee as well as brewed black tea for Loki since none of the cafes were open and kitchen staff wasn't at work either this early in the morning.

By the time you reached Loki's room it was 4:30 already and he was getting prepped for the early morning appearance at the news channel. Thankfully Dalia wasn't there for once and you didn't want to see her face first thing after that nightmare

His makeup was already done and hair was slicked back neatly, his stylist Riva was putting the coat on him when you entered, the only reason Riva didn't intimidate you was because she was a lesbian. You felt pathetic.

"Good morning darling" he smiled as he looked at you but just by looking at your face he could tell you weren't feeling good, perhaps you didn't sleep well after Tony's birthday party. He really needed to spend a night with you, not just for you but his own peace of mind.

"Good morning sir..i brought your tea" you said as you kept the cup on his dresser.

"Thank you sweet Lady, sleep alright?" You nodded as he said that but he could read your lies. As Riva got a phone call she excused herself and made her way out of the room.

You were standing a few feet away from him as you supported your side against the closet so he tilted his head and looked at you up and down, thoroughly checking you out, a simple pair of jeans and shirt, you barely had any makeup on and even with your puffed up sleep deprived face his heart fluttered at the sight of you. To know that you belonged to him completely would never not make his heart soar and cock uncomfortable at all times.

"Come here" he said to you softly so you looked around,

"Somebody will come lo" you answered him so he walked towards you instead and cupped your cheeks to kiss you, as his lips met with yours the fear you had from the nightmare slowly started to chip away for a moment. It was just a nightmare, he'd never be so cruel to you. The feeling of relief didn't last though.

"Are you well? You can stay here if you wish to, I will talk to Dalia" he said to you so you shook your head.

"I'll do my job"

"It is my job to take care of you"

"I told you don't worry about my work.. besides I want to get the fuck out of this tower" he sighed as you said that and pressed a soft kiss on your forehead.

"Loki?" You called out his name so he hummed in response "Can you…promise me something?"

"Anything my love" he smiled, his thumb caressing your cheek before he placed them under your eye to reduce some of that puffiness with his cold touch.

"If someday, you find someone that.." you hesitated to speak your thoughts, all of a sudden your words felt stupid, your insecurities felt unwarranted. He had done nothing wrong to you.

"Someone what?" He asked firmly so you looked down.

"That makes you feel something for them, promise me that you'll tell me before you do something, promise me you'll not keep me in dark or hurt me behind my back" As soon as the words left your mouth you regretted them completely. His eyes teared up as he registered the meaning behind these words, you thought someday he'd stray away from you and cheat on you?

"I promise" he said as he took a few steps behind, tears rolled down his cheek so he wiped them away quickly. No you didn't need his promise, you wanted him to tell you that he'd never even think of doing that to you, that he'd never find someone else but he promised you instead.

You wanted to play victim and say something but as you looked at his face you realized that he wasn't trying to spite you by giving you what you asked him for, he was just hurt, deeply hurt that you'd even insinuate that. He had no intentions of ever letting you go, he thought he had made it clear with his actions but he didn't blame you either for feeling this way.

It still hurt though, the way you seemed so terrified as you asked him to promise you that he'll tell you before he cheats on you was haunting him. He wished there was a spell he could have used to rid of these insecurities you had but he knew there were no spells or potions to heal those emotional scars.

Before you could say anything the room was bustling again as Dalia arrived with the whole team, you wanted to run to him and hug him, tell him that you just wanted him to reassure you again but you felt helpless at the moment. It felt too much.

Until now Loki hadn't really done anything outside of this tower, they came to him here for every interview, press conference and photoshoots, he wasn't allowed to go out except for those missions he went on to so this national appearance was a big deal, you wanted to go with him, you were his assistant after all and you desperately needed to leave the tower but Dalia told you that you won't be required as she'll be present there. You didn't argue with her either, Loki had already left for the studio and you were supposed to go with Dalia in a different vehicle but she denied you. You turned around and made your way to your room.

As soon as Loki realised you weren't there with him he texted you immediately

His message made you feel worse, you didn't enjoy this, not at all, but at times it felt inevitable.

In the previous timeline Dalia never fell for Loki, so why did this happen this time? There were so many things different this time, you couldn't help but wonder if you were the reason for it, perhaps things weren't meant to be like this. Perhaps you had messed with fate's original plan and it was going to come back and bite you sooner or later.

Loki put the phone in his pocket, his eyes were moist, he really wanted you to be here, he knew how stressed you had been at the tower and he wanted you to come out and be with him here.

As Dalia approached him he immediately composed himself and turned to her,

"Where's my assistant?" He asked her and she shrugged as if she didn't care about the question which she probably didn't.

"What?"

"Y/n…My …assistant..where is she?" He asked her a bit more sternly this time.

"She wasn't needed here" she answered shamelessly,

"You are not to decide when I need her and when I don't, the next time you dare interfere in my matters i give you my word Dalia, I will make your life a living hel on midgard..you hear me?" She looked terrified as he said that.

"I uhhh…" her lips trembled and eyes teared up but she didn't say a word and he didn't feel bad about her reaction at all, he knew he was coming across as very suspicious right now but he had lost his cool completely, the little altercation he had with you was already enough as it was and not having you here wasn't something you both needed today.

"I asked an intelligible question. Do you hear me…or not?" He glared at her again so she nodded furiously.

"Yes Loki i understand"

It was really hard for him to stay smiley and cheerful for the interview but he knew he had to fake it. He really wanted to go back to the tower and talk to you, at times he really wished he could have told everyone who you were to him and what you meant to him but what had happened to Melissa the last time had solidified that fear he had regarding your safety, if something was to happen and god forbid he fails to protect you then he knew for sure that he'd never be able to move on from losing you..

After the interview the whole team had to leave for yet another mission so he called you as soon as he was alone but you didn't pick up and that annoyed him even further. However he realised how tired you seemed and If you were sleeping then he didn't want to bother you again so he sent a voicemail instead.

A few hours later when you woke up you immediately looked at the time and it was late in the noon, you had been so sleep deprived that you dozed out like a baby. You were going to call Loki but you already had a voice note from him so you opened it.

Hello darling..i uhh

He took a deep breath before he spoke again

Interview went well, I'm not sure if you watched it, perhaps you are asleep because you didn't receive my call..i hope that is the reason and I'm not being ignored here

He chuckled nervously and you felt your heart breaking slightly, what were you doing with him? He didn't deserve to feel that way, he needed you but this constant insecurities you had always created a tiff between you two.

Anyways i uhh.. I'm going to go for yet another Avengers matter so I will see you at night Princess, I Love You.

The voicemail ended and you just wanted to cry again because you didn't know why you always did this whenever he was going to do something dangerous, you really needed help, you had to do something before you cause more problems between Loki and yourself.

Your whole day went by anxiously, when Loki wasn't there you had to be on Dalia's call at all times, the pay was good and you had never felt so compensated before so you didn't want to complain much.

During lunch hour you met Pepper and Jane in the dining area so you all could eat together. Jane really wanted to get to know you both while she was here. A year ago, if someone had told you that you'd be having lunch with the CEO of Stark Industries, you would have slapped that person for making such a joke.

"Where's Darcy?" You asked Jane even though she was also one of the last people you wanted to see after that horrible nightmare.

"Ahhh she's out exploring NYC, she has a few people she knows here" you nodded as Jane said that.

"So y/n how's it going with Loki?" Pepper smirked so you shook your head.

"Nothing is going on" you said to her but she kept smiling,

"I know..I know..been there, done that"

Well Paprika didn't know shit.

"Ummm can I ask you a question? I mean it's not something I want.. Loki is not my type really but ..I'm. Just curious " you said to her so she nodded.

"Well i always read about Tony and how uhh he ummm you know..women..and "

"His Playboy image??" She finished your words and you were thankful for that.

"Yeahhhh how did you deal with that? I mean he still gets the constant attention from women and it must be hard right? I think I can ask the same question to you Janey"

"Do you have a nickname for me? I love you already'" You bit on your cheeks as she said that, It slipped out of your mouth.

"To answer your question well I don't really think about it much, I mean I trust Thor and we have a connection since we met, it's different with him, I feel different with him, I just know he won't hurt me like that" Jane smiled as she answered your question.

"Ditto" Pepper said as she munched on her salad.

Oh to be this secure, how that must feel?

"Are you bothered by the attention Loki is getting from his ..admirers?" Pepper smirked again so you shrugged in response.

"Why would I be bothered by that? He's not my boyfriend or anything really"

"But you really want him don't you" Jane said so you glared at her before you finally smiled.

You liked having friends, you liked having people around you that weren't out to hurt you, and you had the best of them all with you, your Loki, so why was it so hard to remember what you had with him as soon as he was out of your sight?

Around ten at night you showered and got in bed but you couldn't sleep because Loki would come back soon, he had texted you already.

You felt so overly anxious, you just wanted him to come back so you could hold him and apologize for your behavior and what you had said to him, you'd have been extremely offended if it was Loki who had said something like that to you. Don't give shit you'd not take, you always wanted to live by that policy.

A few minutes later you saw a green shimmer appear in the middle of your room and there he was. The precious love of your life.

He had just showered and had no shirt on- offensive. His hair was wet and he was dripping still, reminded you of the first day you had met him.

You sat up on the bed as he walked towards you,

"Lie down, I'm going straight for the snuggles, is that alright?" He asked so you smiled and opened your arms for him. He quickly crawled into the bed and placed his head down on your chest, his body resting right next to yours.

You caressed his wet scalp and sighed, that's all you needed in that moment, you didn't think you could have gone longer without him by your side.

"Did you get hurt badly?" You asked him and he noticed the tremble in your voice so he smiled and looked up, his lips latched on your forehead before he trailed down and kissed the tip of your nose.

"I am all perfect darling, I need you to talk to me about the incident this morning" he said to you as he tucked your unruly hair behind your ears and ran his fingers through your scalp.

"I had an awful dream" his brows furrowed as you said that.

"What did you see?" He noticed the tears bubbling so as soon as they rolled down the corner of your eyes he wiped them away

"It was horrible.." you sniffled, you didn't even want to recall it "It was about you, you were in bed with Dalia, Darcy and Atrishia, all at once, doing bad things and you said awful words about me"

His eyes welled up too as you said that, no wonder you seemed so terrified and asked him to promise you something so ridiculous.

"I did that huh?" He asked before he leaned in to kiss you softly.

"I know it's not right or fair to you that I allowed a dream to ruin my mood and my thoughts about you but it's not just the dream..it's just how I feel all the time..i feel like someday you'll find someone else that will catch your eyes and then your heart, there are women out there in the world that would suit you better and I know that and it bothers me so much because I think you'll leave me all alone like everyone else did"

By the time you were done speaking you were sobbing uncontrollably so one of his arms went under your waist and he pulled you in a warm embrace as he sat up taking you along with him, he held you like a baby and allowed you to let it all out, holding it in was doing you no good, he knew that at the very least.

"It's okay sweetheart, it's okay..let it out, i am right here" he kissed your neck softly as he spoke, after what felt like hours you finally pulled away to look at him,

"I have felt loved by many people before lo, they told me they'd always be there but do you see anyone by my side? They all left as soon as they found something better, something they thought they deserved, i was just a service stop they used when they needed me, never the destination" you hiccuped as you said that and all he wanted to do was make it all stop, he wanted you to stop living in such a fear and he wanted these insecurities to stop hurting you like that

"I don't want to be a stop..I want to be your destination lo"

Tears rolled down his eyes as you said that. He cupped your cheeks and placed his head down on yours, for a few moments he didn't say anything but then he finally spoke.

"You're my only destination, you're my only hope, my only way, my only home. The moment I met you I found myself having a moment of peace, do you have any clue how long I have been searching for that feeling?" You shook your head as he said that but the tears didn't stop coming.

"A thousand years darling, sure i lived lavishly and had nothing to be ungrateful for but at nights when I finally laid down in my bed all alone, i felt restless, I felt hollow as if i was missing a piece of me, and you weren't even here, you didn't even exist back then" your arms wrapped around his neck as he said that.

Why couldn't you just remember his words when you needed to remember them? In moments of insecurity why couldn't you just remind yourself what you meant to him? Why did you always allow your past to ruin your present as well as your future?

You had to let go and you had to heal, you had to seek help.

You wanted to hold that thought but then he said something that almost made you want to pass out because of the whirlpool of emotions that were raging inside you.

"Marry me my little darling"

You pulled away from him, a gasp escaped your throat as he said that.

"What?"

"Marry me love, let me show you that I am here with you, by your side, for life, forever" you gulped as he said that, of all the ways you imagined how this moment would be like, this wasn't the one of them.

"Are you being serious right now?"

He smiled and waved his fingers, then there was a ring that he was holding between his fingers, it wasn't an actual ring made from jewels but something he had just made.

"If you say yes to me we will get wedded in the traditions of pure Asgardian customs, right this very moment my love" you looked at him awestruck as he said that, he wasn't messing with you.. "Then tomorrow we can go and marry each other again as per the requirements of your Midgardian laws"

"Lokii–" he cut you off as you said his name.

"You're the only one for me, now and forever, so why the delay?" He mumbled against your lips before he kissed you deeply, when he pulled away you were breathless and you knew what you wanted to do.

"Okay..okay I'll marry you baby, let's get married" he smiled and slipped the ring on your finger and then he kissed you again, as passionately as he could.

You couldn't believe this was happening, you felt terrified but you felt excited too.

However your happiness didn't last long because an impending call was awaiting you, destroying the momentarily joy you had felt just now. You heard the Frantic voice of your mother on the phone and your gut sank immediately. Mrs Geller was in the hospital after a drunk driver had hit her while she was going home after a grocery trip. She was in a coma and she was struggling with her life.

You didn't know why this was happening but you had a feeling it had something to do with you and Loki.

You had changed your fate but it didn't just affect you, it affected everyone around you. In the correct path of journey, the one that you were meant to take, the one where you were supposed to marry Strange and find Loki years later, in that journey things would have been different.

Unbeknownst to you if you hadn't messed with your destined journey then on the same day as today Mrs Geller would go for the grocery shopping but you had tagged along with her, while walking back home she was almost hit by a drunk driver but you grabbed her arm and pulled her towards you thus saving her from getting hurt in this accident, but since you decided to alter your path you weren't there to save her life.

You weren't where you were supposed to be. You had messed with the time and it was its turn now.

Note : Every action has a consequence you all. Also as pure as his proposal was, she was marrying him for the wrong reasons, she needs to reflect on that.
