The Los Angeles Times is prohibiting staff from covering the Gaza war for at least three months if they signed a strongly-worded open letter criticizing Israel’s military operations in the region. Earlier this month, nearly a dozen staffers at the LA Times signed the open letter condemning the Israeli government’s bombing of Gaza, and saying the military operations were harming journalists and threatening newsgathering. The letter also called on newsrooms to use language including “apartheid,” “ethnic cleansing,” and “genocide” when referring to the Israeli bombardment of Gaza. Two people with knowledge of the situation told Semafor that staffers who signed the letter have been told by the paper’s management that they will not be allowed to cover the conflict in any way for at least three months.[...]

The LA Times did not respond to a request for comment. But earlier this week, LA Times top editor Kevin Merida reminded staff of the company’s ethics and fairness policy, which stated that a “fair-minded reader of the Times news coverage should not be able to discern the private opinions of those who contributed to that coverage, or to infer that the organization is promoting any agenda.”

Special items: the Pixar ball that you can throw at opponents, a plate of ratatouille (and other dishes from the movie) that can heal damage, an Incredibles mask that temporarily gives you one of the families’ powers, a Zurg arm-cannon that shoots tennis balls, and of course the Assist Trophy that calls another character to aid you in battle! I imagine characters from this item would be like Pepita, Rex, Kevin, Sox, Massimo, AUTO, Gale, the circus bugs, Jackson Storm, Fergus, Bruce, etc. Basically characters that had some importance in the movies’ but that I don’t think would be in the official playable roster

From Disney and Pixar, this movie is about a fiercely independent Scottish princess named Merida who defies an archaic custom to pursue her own destiny. Simultaneously, a beastly curse forces her to take action to save the kingdom.

A terrifically gifted voice cast includes: Kelly Macdonald as Princess Merida, Emma Thompson as Queen Elinor, Billy Connolly as King Fergus, Julie Walters as the Witch and Robbie Coltrane, Kevin McKidd and Craig Ferguson as Lords Dingwall, MacGuffin and Macintosh, respectively.

Kelly Macdonald delivers a fresh outlook on female independence in a way that differs completely from a quintessential Disney Princess. Emma Thompson’s vocal performance alone is an elegantly superb example of a monarch whose diplomatic stance comes into conflict with her daughter. Put those components together, we see a perfectly strained mother/daughter relationship that’s basically the heart of the story. Billy Connolly’s exuberant tone is an excellent way to convey a ruler who seems larger-than-life, but is really a judicious figure. Julie Walters is both a national treasure and master comedienne whose mannerisms are integrated in the Witch’s eccentric behavior.

What makes Merida uniquely different is her extreme passion for adventure, tomboyish style and athletic skills. On that note, Merida loves riding her Clydesdale horse Angus and archery more than anything, which is a symbol of her defining trait as a female warrior. Although she has a softness of heart, she makes it clear that she doesn’t need a man to support her, nor does she wish to marry despite Elinor’s warning that refusal to adhere to tradition could lead to chaos.

In terms of observing the dynamic between a daughter and her mother, the film presents the protagonist struggling to maintain her own free will against the parent’s lectures on the rules of proper royal etiquette. The relationship is further complicated when Merida bargains for a spell that causes Elinor to transform into a bear in an attempt to change her fate. It is then that both mother and daughter must work out their differences and “mend the bond torn by pride” in order to break the curse.

The animation is not only mind-blowing, but it beautifully captures the gorgeous landscape of the Scottish Highlands in such extensive detail. Every strand/lock of Merida’s fiery red mane of hair (including the interwoven threads of the family tapestry made by Elinor) is down to a science. Elinor’s bear form is designed in the exact anatomy of a bear yet she is able to retain her human consciousness. Whenever Bear-Elinor is in her state of human mind, she’d stand/walk on her hind legs. As the spell gradually begins to take over her humanity, she’d be on all fours. Furthermore, the villain of the story is a demonic bear named Mor’du (which conveniently means “great black”). Unlike the sane, expressive bear version of Elinor, Mor’du is a ferocious manifestation of a dark soul trapped in the body of a bear. In addition, Elinor’s regal stature is reflected in her silky fur and flawless bear-like qualities, whereas Mor’du is a muscular hybrid of man and monster all in one. Last but not least, Merida’s younger identical triplet brothers-turned-bear cubs are the icing on the computer-generated cake.

The story is completely original in the sense that it’s not based on a preexisting fairy tale but rather one that pays homage to both the majestic and dark aspects of ancient folklore. Set in Scotland in the Middle Ages, the movie is packed with elements of magic and a sense of danger. One crucial element is a phosphorescent glow of spiritual fumes known as will-o’-the-wisps. According to legend, depending on the situation, it is said that a wisp can either guide a lost traveler to his/her destiny or lead down a dark path. In Merida’s case, she heads down a path she thought would resolve her parental issues but instead makes the reckless mistake of spreading peril across the kingdom. That’s when Merida has to look inside herself and unlock her inner bravery to set things right.

While not a musical, the film’s soundtrack contains a few original songs: two performed by Scottish folk singer Julie Fowlis (“Touch the Sky” and “Into the Open Air”) and one performed by English singer Birdie with backing vocals by English folk rock band Mumford & Sons (“Learn Me Right”). Not only that, but a flashback scene shows Elinor singing a lullaby to young Merida in Gaelic, during which Emma Thompson does her own singing.

Finally, although a standalone narrative, this film teaches the importance of discovering our fate (even if one is willing to challenge societal norms to do so) and understanding one another through mythical storytelling. What’s more, Brave helped set the stage for the creation of specific Pixar movies with more female-bonding experiences such as Inside Out. All in all, I recommend this visually pleasing Best Animated Feature Oscar winner to every fan of both Pixar and fantasy.

WARNING: this Pixar movie may be too scary for younger kids with scenes regarding Mor’du.

(The Atlantic) -- For a few hours last Tuesday, the entire news business seemed to be collapsing all at once. Journalists at Time magazine and National Geographic announced that they had been laid off. Unionized employees at magazines owned by Condé Nast staged a one-day strike to protest imminent cuts. By far the grimmest news was from the Los Angeles Times, the biggest newspaper west of the Washington, D.C., area. After weeks of rumors, the paper announced that it was cutting 115 people, more than 20 percent of its newsroom.

The Times was once a pillar of the American media establishment, celebrated in David Halberstam’s classic media study, The Powers That Be. Now it has become a national exemplar of what the journalist Margaret Sullivan calls the “ghosting” of the news—the gradual withering of news-gathering muscle as once-proud publications become shadows of their old selves. The biotech billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong looked like a savior when he bought the Times from its cost-cutting corporate parent in 2018. For a few years, he was; Soon-Shiong invested about $1 billion, by his count, to build up the depleted organization. But he turned out to have his limits. Facing mounting losses, in June last year the Times dropped 74 people from its newsroom. Last week’s even bigger blow was foreshadowed by managerial turmoil: Three top editors, including the executive editor Kevin Merida, resigned just before the news came down. “I won’t fault him for being unwilling to write checks,” Matt Pearce, a Times reporter who is head of the newspaper’s union, told me, referring to Soon-Shiong. But, he added, “we don’t seem to have a clear theory of the case as a business. We need to execute on a strategy. And we don’t have one.” (Soon-Shiong declined to comment for this article.)

The decline of the legacy news media has been playing out for decades, exacerbated most recently by the advent of the internet and the explosion of digital platforms, especially the ad-revenue-gobbling tech giants Google and Meta. Even when the ad-supported model of journalism still worked, the history of American media was punctuated by periods of dramatic expansion and contraction, often coinciding with the arrival of new technologies. The latest round of cuts, however, represents a grim new milestone. The Washington Post, NBC News, ABC News, NPR, Vice, Vox, and BuzzFeed, among others, have shed hundreds of journalists over the past year. (Disclosure: I’m one of them. In December, I took a buyout from The Washington Post.)No corner of national media seems unaffected. Even Condé Nast’s The New Yorker magazine, heretofore seemingly impervious, announced a numerically insignificant but symbolically freighted staff cut in December. All told, job losses among print-, digital-, and broadcast-news organizations grew by nearly 50 percent during 2023, according to the consulting firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas.

So, I think I'd have two OC who could be friends of Milana. Let's think of a scottish buff woman, idk what to call her, but I thought of her looking like Merida from brave, but just--more muscles? And a Chinese one -please don't think I'm racist- who at first thinks that Milana is another easy opponent who doesn't take shit seriously when fighting against her, only to get her ass whooped in the process. I don't know, but I want to call her Mei or Feng, Idk, I imagine her having bangs which go a little over her eyes? But with like, a super serious expression, and Mei/feng is all about honor and has been fighting as some sort of family tradition, and when she looses against Milana does she try to copy her? But like, Mei looks at Milana like a student would look at his master, in such a way.

Like.--imagine:

Milana: *Does laundry a certain way*

Mei/Feng: *trying to fold them in the exact same way*

Merida?? Pls help me give her a name: *joins as well because she wants to feel included too*

and just---wholesome shit, you know?

And then I just thought...why not a little more drama??

So I thought with a few new fighters just being mean girls and ruining Milana's day?? Oh! What if Milana had a female coach, who also doesn't look like a fighter because she retired! Let's call her Ms. Carmichael, and she is just the sweetest person, and then I thought about Milana, Feng/Mei, Merida???, Elijah and Kublai trying to bring Ms. Carmichael and Coach Trevor together and I think that would be cute too.... But let me hear your thoughts as well!

Here, I am going to point out some details I've found about when reading the episodes of the tomato can!

Also this will contain spoilers? Because I'm going to summarise some episodes, so read at your own risk!

In the very first episode, Elijah is introduced as a golden boy. His opponent is "Guy 'The Machine' Nevazno", (Nevazno means doesn't matter) but what caught my eye was what stood on his boxers. Baby wipes. On his grey boxers stood legit baby wipes.

Like c'mon bro. I laughed so hard at this!!

But then, and I repeat, then there's this hot teacher, like I really wanna know her name. Like, bro, you don't understand-

I wish I could put her pic here, but then it'd be very weird, so you can just reread episode 1 again. Still, I'd do my very best to be a good student, because dayum she's hot. I don't get how he can sleep in her classes. (I secretly hope she will turn up later in the webtoon, if not I'm gonna cry.)

Then, later in the episode, Elijah is fighting against someone and barely wins, and there is another fight announced with Kevin "Bam Bam" Boseman. Please keep that name in mind, because I will go deeper on that name later on.

Anyways, in episode two, we can see Elijah barely winning the fight, and then he has some sort of afterparty all alone because his coaches didn't want to be seen with him (at least that one brother-Idk which one), and so, Elijah was just in a club or something and chilling with a drink. Then, Zach comes with his underlings? and just brings Elijah down.

Elijah warns him to leave, but Zach doesn't listen, and eggs the russian on even more, to which Elijah punches him and says something along the lines of "that was two years ago, bitch", which means that Elijah had all his fights with Zach (six fights) in the past.

(-I like to think that Elijah will beat Zach up in that tournament he took part in, let's hop for that to happen!-)

And, well, as the bodyguards interfere, tearing the boys apart, Zach was about to call him something, but Elijah just growls??? Wait, lemme just-

Yeah, that's what I mean. I think Elijah wanted to break free from that guy's grip, but it would also be funny if Elijah just growled at Zach.

Looking into the next few panels, we can see J.J. (Joseph Jericho) and his assistant/secretary Hank (what's his last name?) conversing and Elijah wants to take J.J. out for a drink. And then---I also love this panel-

Like, look at poor Hanks face. He angy bro. Look at him pout. Look at ugly jericho. This is why you don't have a wife, J.J. (He called Hanks wife shitty) IN THIS HOUSE WE RESPECT HANK'S WIFE.

And later on, when they're in some sort of restaurant, where Elijah wanted to ask Jericho about turning him into a golden boy, but before he could do that, Jericho slapped him with the cold truth. (I'm not going to write down what he said.)

But, then there was that TV show Jericho mentioned, "So you want to be a mixed martial artist?" (=name of tv show), where Elijah had a week to decide whether he'd like to join or not.

Now on to episode three, where some fighters are introduced. First, we have Joe Rumsfeld, whose nickname is GSM (Genetically superior male), and he wears something like gear?? Idk what he's wearing but it's not clothes according to Mr. Gills, the producer and director. BUt please keep in mind that he had such a headgear where it stands fight club- wait lemme just..Yeah, on the right is Joe, on the left V-cube. (idk who the person in the back is but nice jawline I guess?)

AND THEN WE HAVE PRECIOUS BEEFY VASILY VADYMOVYCH VOVCHANCHYN WHO HAS HIS CUTE LITTLE CUTIE-PATOOTIE SMILE LIKE I JUST CAN'T, 🍰-NOM, HE'S SO SWEET!!! Anyways, his friends not being able to pronounce his name is such a mood.

Again, keep in mind what Alpha male (the person next to v-cube) is wearing.

Then we have Bokassa with his cool spiritual horn, and I love how he just--believes in it! (The horn is never wrong) We also have Oscar Castro Fontana, a brazilian, who wants to represent his country and bring the big money to his family. Ah, what a man. But I don't really get the size disadvantage because in the later episodes, he looked like he'd be the same height as Vasily.

Now on to my third favourite, Kublai Khan, my wonderful psycho killer, who scared the living shit outta Mr. Gills/dad and the rest of the staff when he answered their question.

AND THEN--THEN THERE'S..omg, jason Hardwood...also known as "Lil sturdy", but like bro...I can't, like everytime I read his name or think about him, I have to think that "Lil sturdy" ... just stands for ....little dick---I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME BUT I WANT TO MAKE MILANA BULLY JASON SO MUCH ABOUT HIS NAME LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW-

And now to Zach...Zach Heartly...if evil why pretty face? Like, hear me out. Why does he have that long hair?? like for what? I mean, I don't really like him, but he looks handsome-you get what I mean?? And then, later on, his hair just whooshes when he finds out that ELijah is joining too.

And then he sweats? Like what are you so nervous for, Hartly?? Scared Elijah might beat your ass this time?

Anyways, Jason hardwood/lil sturdy (omg I still can't stop laughing abt it) tries to rile up Kublai because he beat his elder brother, Johnny, however, Kublai makes him mad by addressing him by his brother's name, to which Izo Honda (Daimyo) has to hold him back. And now to Izo. He's a gossip lover. Like, look.

But in the next panel he's just-

Like bro😭😭

And in the beginning of the fourth episode, we can see the brothers (Elijah's coaches) argumenting with each other that Elijah is not good enough to become a golden boy. *sad diamond noises*

Also, later on -sorry that I am going fast forward tthe hole time, but- we see Vasily trying to make Elijah his friend and I think that's really sweet of him. Also Vasily promising Elijah that he'll teach him russian for the time being is just so wholesome, but Elijah is a lil suspiscious of him and doesn't trust him at first.

Also if we look at the guys interacting with each other, Medusa asks GSM abt his clothes which are not there, but-

Kelvin Coin...bro I love this webtoon so much

Also can we look at Elijah? He's taller than Coah Trevor and Kublai and just

Just look at them. I mean, yeah the size difference is not really there but still. Also why is Kublai's chin so pointy?? Trevor looks like he aged like fine wine (not that I'm calling him old) and Elijah is just so good-looking...it makes my heart go doki-doki (ok I'll stop☠)

In episode 5, Vasily invites Elijah to take some of his nerves away, but Elijah isn't really happy there. Also not Medusa giving Joe stank eyes for drinking from a bottle...look-

What does Rhabdo stand for? I just looked it up and it stands for Rhabdomyolysis, which is a condition in which damaged skeletal muscle breaks down rapidly. (-> which I looked up on wikipedia) So like, maybe that, or it means sth completely else.

Also, another reason why Elijah is my fave, is because he doesn't drink alcohol. Then, we have Mario Di Vito (MDV), who gives Elijah his left hand to shake because he doesn't have a right hand. ELijah doesn't even address that, but the tattoo. MDV feels delighted (in my opinion) that he doesn't get asked by a stranger abt his missing hand, but gets warned by Elijah playfully who says that he won't go easy on Mario.

I'm happy that Elijah is like that. *happy diamond noises*

And then, it comes to the conversation of Joe talking abt memories, and that takes us back to the first episode, where I talked about Kevin "Bam Bam" Boseman, if you can remember.

I think Kevin, Joe and Medusa were pals once, and maybe Kevin Boseman made it big as a fighter? I'm excited for what will happen in the future!

And then Joe talked abt college days and how they were drunk and a skunk, and then we have poor Mr. Gills/dad who looses it. Also the camera man is looking at them with a concerned face.

And Elijah just laughes his ass off by dark humor, according to Vasily.

And then, in episode six, we have Trevor recommending ELijah and Kublai to fight one round to close off for the night, and The bearded coach sent Izo/drama lover over to see if they could finally use the cage, but then-

izo runs towards his coach, and then-

look at him being all excited. I mean I'd be like that too, but no one is as excited as him in the webtoon.

In episode seven, Elijah finally lands a kick with "double cheese and mayo", as coach trevor explains which is "the code for a straight a straight left and calf kick".

And well, at the end of the seventh episode, Kublai recalls his memories on how Coach trevor stopped his right leg, but then he remembered that Coach Trevor actually blocked his left leg, and it was Elijah who gave him that nasty bruise on the right side of his knee-leg part.

In episode eight, we can see Elijah being one pound over the weight limit because of the energy drinks, according to Kublai, to which Elijah gets an earful. Maybe I'll write Milana making Vasily and Elijah getting a diet?

Then we have our Alpha male who has to wear that to sponsor the TV show. Can't wear his rhabdo thingy anymore i guess lol

As the fighers Elijah and Ethan are being checked by the security, Gills interviews the other fighters again. That blue haired guy, Donovan "the freak" Day says Elijah is the weakest link and that Ethan't going to win the fight easily. Alpha male exclaims that it's going to be a boring fight and that they should watch his instead. Stfu man no one likes u.

Then we have sweet Vasily who looks concerned on Elijah's behalf because of the wounds Kublai gave him, and our cool Bokassa, who says that Elijah will win, which makes mr. Gills perk up.

Also Elijah being 23? and Ethan 25? Damn, I dunno what I should expect- I actually wrote Milana being 20 in my fics, is that okay for you, 🍰-nom?

Now we know Hank's last name too, who is moderating the fight. Hank Morel, who is also vice president of the Pankration F.C. (idk what F.C. stands for)

I also love how Ethan tried to to the fake glove touch trick with Elijah as well, but homeboy got warned and info-dumped by Vasily and Alpha male. And well, Ethan got punched and nearly lost his balance and stood on wobbly legs.

How did Leon react when they bought Cassidy home from the hospital?

Did the kids play any sports growing up? I can see Cassidy playing soccer, gymnastics, basketball, etc

Leon liked wrestling cause Uncle Kurt was his teacher and thought baseball was okay.

Both kids love Harry Potter.

Cassidy favorite Disney movie is "Merida" cause she has red hair just like me.

Leon favorite Disney movie 101 Dalmatians.

The kids tried to make breakfast for Father's Day. There is a really interesting stain on the kitchen ceiling. The pancakes were half raw, half cooked, and the coffee had so much sugar, but the chocolate covered strawberries were great. Charlie ate the bacon and sausages, much too his regret.

Charlie the dog...please write his adoption story.

Excuse me as I try to fit these all in this one ask. I will do it.

The Family of Destruction

Leon was becoming impatient. He was supposed to go hunting in the forest with his daddy today, but instead he's stuck with his many uncles and aunt Stephanie and chyna. And big brother John of course.

"Whats wrong buddy?" John asks plopping down next to Leon. Leon points at the picture he drew of him and taker violently killing monsters in the forest. "Ah..yes..papa mentioned yours and takers plans tonight." John chuckles nervously. "Well, something more exciting is happening now. You can go tomorrow maybe" John tries. Leon stares at him with a deadpan look. "Good luck john" Kevin scoffs from behind Leon. John frowns. That means chyna and Kevin have already tried and failed to cheer the boy up. "Has goldust tried?" Hunter asks. "Of course. He insulted my outfit the little devil" goldust hisses. Leon smirks as Kevin chuckles. "Enough! They are here!" Steph calls from the window.

Leon stands immediately and John grabs his wrist. "Patience" John tells him softly. Leon frowns at the blonde. What does he need Patience for? He's supposed to be running around the trees right now. He looks at the door as his daddy walks in. "Leon?" Taker calls. Leon pulls away and rushes towards taker. Taker picks him up immediately. "Hey buddy" Taker smiles. Leon shakes his head. 'You promised.' He signs. Taker raises an eyebrow and looks at kevin who's holding Leon's picture up. "Ah, we will still go. Just not today. I want you to meet someone" Taker tells him. Leon squints. Wheres papa?

Taker turns as the door opens. Leon's eyes widen at the small human in his papas arms. Shawn smiles softly at it. Leon continues to stare in confusion. What is it? Taker puts Leon down as shawn kneels. "This is your baby sister, Cassidy Athena Michaels" Shawn explains softly. Leon looks at him with wide eyes. "C-cassie?" Leon asks. Everyone stares in shock. Shawn smiles and kisses his cheek. "Yes baby. Your a big brother now" Shawn tells him. "Are you up for that?" Taker asks. Leon looks back at cassie. Reaching out to her. He nods eagerly as the small fingers grip his. Shawn and taker smile at each other.

"So..how many sports did you play?" Drew asks. "Well I did basketball and football. Dance and archery aswell if you count that." Leon shrugs not looking up from his phone. "I did netball and hockey. We both did wrestling and swimming though" cassie smiles. "Where did you even find the time?" Rhea asks. "Well two of them were during school times and the others were just weekend and holidays stuff. We didn't get forced into them, we chose to do them. Besides there wasn't much to do in the valley accept hunt at the time" cassie shrugs. "Thats a point. You hunt but your vegetarian" drew points out. "Its different. We would hunt over populated monsters who tried killing us and overtaking the valley. Its different" Leon huffs. Cassie just smiles at the pair. "Leon also did gymnastics to impress a girl" cassie smirks. Leon drops his phone. "Shut it. You used to do soccer (yes I died inside writing that. But they are American) just because you had a crush on a guy. You didn't even like the sports" Leon snaps. Cassies cheeks heat up. "You only did archery to prove a point to uncle Scott!" Drew raises an eyebrow. "Dad!" Both yell before storming out. Rhea and drew look at each other. "All I did was ask a simple question" drew whispers.

------------------------------------------------------------------3. I personally don't use Kurt. But Leon does have a fav uncle.

"Your too sloppy" Kevin yawns. Leon huffs against the matt as Kevin twists his arm up his back. "I know understand your father's frustrations. You do not focus. You project too much anger." Kevin scolds. Leon growls. "Why didn't I accept Scott's offer of baseball?" Leon asks. "Because you hate baseball and love wrestling. Especially with uncle kev" Kevin smirks. "I think I'm changing my mind" Leon snaps. "Mmm there's that no good anger again" Kevin teases, pushing Leon's arm higher. Leon growls at him and begins fighting his hold. "Relax. Remember what I taught you" Kevin tells him. Leon let's out a deep breath as he closes his eyes.

Shawn watches from the doorway with a fond smile as Leon manages to get Kevin in a triangle hold. His boy will be a great wrestler one day.

Leon hates Harry Potter. He doesn't understand it. He doesn't like it. He doesn't. Just doesn't. Doesn't like the films or the books.

Cassie? She loves it. She adores it. Forces her family to do house quizzes. Forces Leon to play Harry Potter with her. Forces them to watch the films. Dresses Charlie up like creatures from the films. Read the books twice.

Both hate jk btw.

I can agree with cassies favourite movie being merida but also princess and the frog. She just loves everything about it.

Leon's favourite movies are the bear ones. Yk brother bear, winnie the pooh. But he's also a sucker for lion King.

Leon crosses his arms. "I've got this! Go away! It was my idea!" Cassie hisses. Leon rolls his eyes before moving to the garden. His sister is going to destroy the kitchen. He's going to simply pick some strawberries and make some chocolate strawberries. His Papa loves them and well it is fathers day.

Leon was angry at taker for taking cassie out and forgetting their plans.

Leon walks back into the kitchen and almost wants to leave. He clicks his tongue causing the food covered girl to look at him. "Dont be mean" she frowns. Leon just smirks and moves towards the sink to watch watch strawberries.

"The kids aren't in bed" Shawn states from the bedroom door. "No. I can sense them in the kitchen. They've probably made themselves cereals" Taker yawns as he puts his t-shirt on. Both men stare at each other as Charlie barks and a crashing noise echos through the house. "Christ" Taker groans before they rush downstairs.

Both men stare in horror as they see the mess of a kitchen. Taker squints at the stain on the roof whilst Shawn watches Charlie eat some raw looking sausages and bacon. "We made you breakfast for fathers day!" Cassie cheers with pancake batter in her hair. Taker watches as Leon eats a chocolate covered strawberry. Leon holds them out. "Thank you both." Shawn smiles, wincing as he spots the raw pancakes. Taker sips the coffee and chokes. "B-Beautiful" he chokes. Leon smirks and holds the strawberries up. Shawn accepts one. "These are nice. Who's idea was this?" Shawn asks already knowing the answer. Cassie frowns and looks down. 'Both of us. Cassie wanted to do something with strawberries and me chocolate' Leon lies. Taker smiles slightly. The best fathers day gift is seeing your kids improve. Cassie smiles at her brother. 'Thank you' she signs causing Leon to wink at her and smile.

Takers enjoying his newspaper when Shawn walks in. "Hey baby" Shawn smiles. "Hey" Taker hums. "Can we get a dog?" Shawn asks. Taker glances at him. "No. Its impractical, we aren't home enough." Taker tells him before looking back at his paper. "What about a cat?" Shawn asks. "Not happening. Hate cats." Taker mutters. "But their independent" Shawn frowns. "No Shawn." Taker sighs. Shawn pauses before a smile grows on his face. "What about a kid? A baby?" Shawn asks.

Taker throws his paper down and grabs his keys. Standing and leading Shawn out the house. "A dog? What kind of dog? Big small?" Taker asks. Shawn giggles.

They go on to adopt a German shepherd puppy, 9 months later they end up with a baby boy.

Favorites:

- Owen by Kevin Henkes It’s a children’s book about a mouse who is very attached to his security blanket. XD

- Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler A very eerie post-apocalytpic/dystopian science fiction novel. The story is set between 2024 and 2027, so reading it in 2022, as a resident of California, was a bit chilling and very thought-provoking.

- Dragon Haven by Robin Hobb This is book 2 of the Rain Wild Chronicles series, and to be honest, I don’t highly recommend the other three books in the series, and I’m not sure I would have “favorited” it as a stand alone. But it’s the most dragon-centric book of the series and I really enjoyed her treatment of dragons and their lore.

5-Star Ratings in 2022:

- The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles Young man coming of age, vintage Americana.

- Bravely by Maggie Stiefvater Basically a look at what happens to Merida from Disney/Pixar’s “Brave” after the events of the movie.

- The Partner Track by Helen Wan Young, female, Asian lawyer, trying to make partner at her firm. Dealing with racism and sexism. Slight “Devil Wears Prada” vibes.

Phim hoạt hình công chúa Disney: Nữ hoàng băng giá

Một bộ phim hoạt hình Disney nổi tiếng đình đám vào năm 2013, đã đem lại một nguồn doanh thu khổng lồ cho nhà sản xuất. Bộ phim kể về công chúa Anna xinh xắn đáng yêu, thông minh và dũng cảm và chị của Anna là Elsa có phép thuật, quyền lực điều khiển được mưa, gió, tuyết.

Hoạt hình công chúa Disney: Công chúa tóc xù

Công chúa tóc xù (tiếng Anh: Brave) là phim hoạt hình công chúa Disney này được phát hành năm 2012 do Pixar Animation Studios sản xuất và Walt Disney Pictures phát hành.

Cốt truyện của phim do nhà biên kịch/đạo diễn Brenda Chapman sáng tạo, lấy cảm hứng từ mối quan hệ giữa chính bà và con gái. Với bộ phim này, Chapman trở thành nữ đạo diễn đầu tiên của Pixar đảm nhiệm vai trò đạo diễn một sản phẩm phim chiếu rạp.

Sau khi tới hỏi ý một mụ phù thuỷ, Merida đã vô tình biến mẹ mình thành một con gấu và buộc phải hoá giải lời nguyền ấy trước khi quá muộn.

Công chúa tóc xù công chiếu lần đầu vào ngày 10 tháng 6 năm 2012, tại Liên hoan phim quốc tế Seattle, và được phát hành tại Bắc Mỹ vào ngày 22 tháng 6 năm 2012.

Phim thu được nhiều thành công cả về chuyên môn và doanh thu, và giành Giải Oscar cho phim hoạt hình hay nhất,Giải Quả cầu vàng cho phim hoạt hình hay nhất, cùng với Giải BAFTA cho phim hoạt hình hay nhất.

Bộ phim hoạt hình Disney công chúa kể về nàng Tiana xinh đẹp, chăm chỉ, thích nấu ăn và mong muốn trở thành người quản lý nhà hàng thành đạt giống như cha. Và chàng hoàng tử Naveen thích ăn chơi đã bị hoàng tộc ruồng bỏ của xứ Maldonia xa xôi.

ABC News Studios and LA Times Studios present “The Randall Scandal: Love, Loathing, and Vanderpump,” an investigation into many of the shocking claims against Emmett, which include allegations of race discrimination, workplace abuse, and questionable on-set behavior towards actor Bruce Willis as his mental acuity declined ― all of which Emmett denies. The 90-minute documentary features special access to interview footage of Kent, who opens up about her tumultuous relationship with Emmett and how she learned about the accusations against her ex-fiancé. “The Randall Scandal: Love, Loathing, and Vanderpump” also includes exclusive interviews with those closest to Kent, including Lisa and Easton Burningham, her mother and brother, who describe alarming, never-before-told claims of Emmett’s alleged mistreatment towards Kent, exclusively recount what they regard as Emmett’s disturbing behavior when Kent gave birth to their daughter, and Kent’s escape from their shared home.
