Rosé was four and she had collapsed on the ground from exhaustion.
“Unacceptable.” Her future commander, Rob Lucci said. “Get up.”
“I’m tired!” She whined, feeling exhausted.
“That’s not an excuse. Now get up. No one is going to pity and help a weakling.”
Reluctantly, she rose to resume her training.
Rosé was 8 and she had just broken her leg sparring with Kaku.
“Are you okay?” Kaku winced. “Sorry, that was a stupid question isn’t it? Alright, get up and go to medical.”
“But my leg is broken.” Rosé stated, confused.
Kaku nodded. “Yeah, but as a member of CP9, you’re going to have to deal with much worse injuries. And you have to deal with those injuries until the mission was complete. Think of this as good practice.”
“Yes sir.” She nodded and stumbled, trying to hide her winces and pain.
Rosé was 10 and she was going on her first mission. She was so nervous on the inside, although she had long since learned to turn off her emotions. “Kalifa, may I ask for advice.”
“No.” The woman said, reviewing her notes. “You’re now a fully fledged member of CP9. You need to learn to do these things on your own, especially now that we’re going undercover.”
“Yes ma’am.” Rosé turned away and looked out the window, going over her assignment in her mind so she wouldn’t mess up.
Rosé was 12 and two years into her mission, having befriend the boss of Water 7’s underworld and joined his false family. She had been practicing a dance with Franky, Kiwi, and Mozu, but had messed up and fallen off the stage.
“Oh no!” Kiwi cried
“Rosie!” Mozu shouted.
“Shit kid, are you alright?” Franky asked in concern, hoping off the stage.
“I’m fine.” Rosé insisted, despite the pain in her ankle. “I’m sorry for messing up, I won’t do it again.”
“Who cares about the dance?” He kneeled besides her and poked at her ankles. “That doesn’t look good. I’ll take you to the doctor and get you checked out.”
“I’m fine.” She insisted. “I’ll walk myself.”
Franky laughed and scooped her up. “Kid, take it from me, when you’re hurt, you want someone to help you instead of doing it all yourself. Let your Big Bro take care of you.”
As he carried her away, he didn’t know that he had just sprouted the first seeds of rebellion into her heart…
