Hello, so i apparently have a brain rot about twst characters being concerned about their siblings mental health due to their taste in men
The younger sibling of Vil while having both the looks and skills of their brother and father, also has a small amount of stage fright and loves video games, so they end up becoming a v-tuber and develop a small crush on an internet friend and moderator who irl is Idia Shroud, maybe after revealing that they got accept to nrc the two decide to meet up irl and while Idia is lagging due to the error messages in his brain, little schoenheit's small crush develops into a full infatuation, Vil is so so concerned
I love this idea. While normally I write requests in bullet point format, I hope you don't mind that I wrote this one differently. I'm sorry if you don't like it as much because of this, I just felt like writing like this does requests like this better than my usual bullet point style
Request rules and Masterlist
As a part of the Schoenheit family, it was only natural that you had developed the acting and modeling skills as well as the good looks. It's just something that had been engrained into your lifestyle at a young age. Your father had you and Vil acting together from a young age, and Vil would always help you with everything.
The main thing he always had to help you with was your stage fright. While he and your father never had any problem being on stage, you hated it. Having everyone's eyes on you and the pressure not to mess up was all too much for you.
Perhaps that was why you liked video games so much. Online, no one knew who you really were, and that gave you a sense of freedom. No one could actually see you, and it gave you a sense of freedom. They didn't stare at you, and you didn't have to see them staring at you. There was a screen between you and them at all times.
But that desire to perform and entertain was still strong within you. Maybe it was just part of being a Schoenheit. Thankfully, the internet is a wonderful place full of opportunities, and you were able to find a way to play the video games you loved so much while performing for others.
Being a v-tuber was so much more fun than you had imagined. It's the perfect way to entertain and build an audience while playing video games too. The perfect job for you.
You were even able to connect with others and make new friends too. One of these friends was a moderator by the screenname Gloomurai. You had fun talking to him both in and out of streaming for others.
He understood you so well! The two of you were able to bond about a lot of things, mainly your love for video games and how scary it was to be in front of other people. And eventually, you even found out that he's a student at Night Raven College, the school you're going to be attending.
After a little bit of convincing and deliberating, the two of you decided to meet. Not anywhere out in the public eye with lots of people of course. So the two of you picked an isolated corner of the school, and waited until evening to go meet up.
To say you were nervous was an understatement. Gloomurai was a close friend and even a small crush of yours. He was just so understanding and cool. Now you were going to meet him in person. So many things could go wrong.
But you were the one to get there first, and you waited patiently for Gloomurai to show up. As the minutes passed, your nerves only grew.
Until finally, a very pale figure rounded the corner. He was tall, but hunched over like he'd been sitting and playing video games for a long time before this. Perhaps the most noticeable thing about his appearance was the long blue flames of hair and the bright yellow eyes that only met yours for a second before quickly flickering away.
Idia Shroud; the most reclusive guy in school. He rarely ever left his room and was known for being an introvert and amazing with technology. The housewarden of Ignihyde...he was Gloomurai?????
He's amazing! Truly amazing. Of all the people he could've been, you're glad it was Idia.
Idia on the other hand was freaking out. His favorite streamer and crush...was Vil Schoenheit's little sibling??? He's broken. His brain cannot compute. Error error.
"You're Gloomurai, right?"
"I, uh, yeah. I guess."
It was...pretty awkward for the first few minutes of talking. Neither of you quite knew what to say at first, but eventually conversation would flow smoothly just like when you guys normally chat. It felt really nice to be able to talk to him in person actually, and you finally got to put a face to the moderator you developed a crush on.
So when you saw Vil again, you couldn't help but gush about your crush.
"He's so much better than I thought! I mean we talked for a while and got along very well. He's super cute too!"
"Are you sure you're talking about Idia Shroud? Cute definitely aren't the words I would use to describe him."
"Of course he's cute! I mean have you seen his hair and his eyes? He also has a really nice smile."
"I don't understand you. Are you sure you're okay mentally?"
"I've never been better."

Gilbert von Obsidian, the main reason why I started playing Ikemen Prince. The main reason I started playing Ikemen games at all. Your route was so much fun, I can't explain.
Gilbert's route is not a route. It's basically a chessboard that we watch Gilbert play from both sides. Yes, it's a one-sided chess game and it's fun to watch. Really fun to watch! I was getting so hooked-up with the story and ended up falling in love with it.
👇👇👇Spoilers 👇👇👇
Tumblr media
I think the fun part of Gilbert's route is uncovering his secrets slowly. For example, What is he hiding? Why did he change into....a beast? How does he know so much about Emma? What is his main goal here? All these questions get's answered in a well-crafted way in his story.
Gilbert is one of those characters who on the outside has all the characteristics as a villain but in reality he's a pure-hearted man who sacrificing everything for the better future of his country. Everyone just judges Gilbert based on rumors and what the previous Emperor of Obsidian did (I'm talking about the Bloodstained Rose Day). They all call him names like the 'Conqueror of Beasts' and 'Worldwide disaster' just because he's from Obsidian, a country known for corruption. But once you actually find out Gilbert's ambitions and what he's doing for his country, I just think he's a pretty cool guy. He's an anti-villain disguised as a villain.
His ambition to make sure everyone is being treated equally whether its royalty or a commoner and everyone should be punished for the crimes that they have committed and no one could gain favorable advantages because of their status, is truly remarkable. On top of that, he's not all fighting and conquering every nations he sees. He also works hard to make sure his country is doing better for his people. I'm talking about their food supply and technology upgrades. It does hurts me that Gilbert is only known as a 'Worldwide disaster' around the other nations especially in Rhodolite, instead of getting praised for developing his country and helping his people. People really like to look at only the bad side of a person, don't you think?
Gilbert also in his own way is trying to eradicate as much corruption and decay from his country. Starting with killing his own father, the Emperor because if the Emperor ain't doing anything for his people, he should either step down as an Emperor and let someone else more competent take the throne or just die. Neither happened, so Gilbert killed him to eliminate that threat. Then his killed of any corrupted nobles and that's why Obsidian is called the Country of Soldiers, because everyone inside the palace is a soldier (Including the maids, I guess)
Also, maybe it's only me, but I prefer the design of the Obsidian palace over the Rhodolite one. The Rhodolite palace is prettier-looking, covered with roses from head to toe every where both inside and outside. The Obsidian palace on the outside looks like a Haunted Castle that might eat you up, but in the inside, the ambience suites me perfectly. I don't really like too much light pouring inside my room.
Another thing I like about Obsidian palace is how Gilbert made sure everyone inside the palace who works for him is talented in their field of job. He recognizes talent over any kind of nepotism or status. Although Gilbert's ambition is to make sure that all people are to be treated equally, he's still feared by many ministers in the parliament. I think that's a good thing because it's good to be feared and having people do what you're asking for instead of letting them trample over you. Gilbert used to be like Emma, where he loved everyone and was kind to everyone. But since humans are the worst kinds of beasts, they will surely trample on kindness of people like Emma or former Gilbert. I'm not saying being kind is foolish but one should never let anyone trample over them for any reason. For example, we see Emma getting wrongfully bullied by some nobles just because she hangs out with Gilbert. Emma, for being a commoner gets bullied and other nobles or princes who talks with Gilbert, never. What frustrates me even more is that Emma just never stand up to her bullies and always let them have their way. I don't see any of the Rhodolite princes help her (except for one time when Yves caught that one noblewoman). When Gilbert clearly asks her, she calls him a beast and doesn't tell him. Honestly, I felt like Gilbert was the only one protecting her at that point, Emma was just being clouded by rumors about Gilbert where he's treated as the Voldemort of this world. He who-should-not-be-named!
I'm happy that later she does realize that she shouldn't be blinded by these rumors and must look at Gilbert objectively. Looking him as a human rather than a beast, but it's good thing that she admits her mistake. For her, she was like "I can fix him. I will bring him to my world which is filled with kindness and warmth and I can fix him and turn him into a human." and what does Gilbert do? He enters her world and paints it all black. Great job👍
Speaking of Emma, I love that Gilbert keeps giving her a reality check. Emma's whole ideals about fixing problems by talking things through is not a bad thing, but it's not effective in the current situation because of the tragedy known as the Bloodstained Rose Day. She never knew how much of tragedy that was and it was also partly the Rhodolite Princes' fault too. All this time, she was living in her own dream world like a main character of novel, that she mentions time to time, who never changes herself no matter how much hell she is put through. I think Emma is character who likes to dream a lot and she lives in a fantasy world which is all rainbows and sunshine. Once she is chosen as Belle, everything she thought about 'royalty' and 'nobles' which she read from books proved to be false. She starts learning about the cruel place she lives in, that is the royal palace, how the princes are not just some good-looking rich men but also very smart and strong, how the royalty can get a away with many things because of their status and even how much of piece of shit the previous Rhodolite emperor was. She learns these things and clearly realizes that despite living in Rhodolite for her entire life, she never actually knew everything about her country.
After being send as a hostage in Obsidian, it is only then she gets to see how truly developing Obsidian is, maybe even more than Rhodolite. People are all treating her well. The country wasn't like what she was expecting. To me it looked like she was having much better time in Obsidian than in Rhodolite, because at least there are no childish nobles that bully her just because they can.
Now coming to the meat of the story, Gilbert's illness. I was kinda surprised but also rolled my eyes at first when I heard that Gilbert had some kind of illness and he's going to die soon. I have seen this trope in other movies and dramas and it's usually a last minute thing that the story writers pulls it out of their ass to bait the viewers into keep investing in their characters. I always like to believe that they use these 'I'm dying from cancer' trope when they have no idea left. So when I saw Gilbert coughing blood I was praying so hard that the writers don't disappoint me. But thankfully it was not like that. I really did feel sad when I was reading the ending chapters. I admit that I was crying like a baby because Gilbert is just too sweet that I want to shower him with kisses. Every time. ALL THE TIME!
Tumblr media
I think all in all Gilbert's route is really well written that I enjoyed most of it but it's not perfect. The issue is not that concerning, but I really wish they didn't emphasize it too much. I don't like cringy dialogues! Dialogues that make me physically cringy to the point that I roll my eyes. Dialogues like:
"What can I do to make you turn into a human?"
"If you shut down your feelings, you will eventually become a beast like me."
And my least favorite "He's the Conqueror of the Beast, the worldwide disaster...."
Emma just really loves that line to the point that she uses it every time Gilbert does something normal.
Sees Gilbert reading a book.
Emma: *gasps* "The Conqueror of the Beast, the worldwide disaster is reading a book!?!?!?"*shocked 101*
Sees Gilbert eating cookies.
Emma: *gasps* "The Conqueror of the Beast, the worldwide disaster eats cookies and not children!?!?!?"*shocked 102*
Yeah, and it's not just Emma, but some of the princes' and ministers except for Chevalier and Luke, who treats him like a normal human being. Maybe they have a past together. Probably the other other kid at the start of chapter 1 is Chevalier. They must be childhood friends. Luke and Gilbert also seems to know each other well, Luke was the only person that proudly claimed that Emma is doing very well in Obsidian so it seems like Luke must have been to Obsidian before.
Another thing. See the general rule of story-telling is 'Show than tell'. I want the writers to 'show' me how much of a pure-hearted character Emma is rather than the princes keep 'telling' the audience that Emma is kind and pure-hearted. If Emma is kind-hearted, I want them to show me her kindness in any way possible. For example, when they went to the orphanage, they could've have shown Emma mingling with the kids and helping them with whatever they need or maybe something like Emma doing a research about the Bloodstained Rose Day (actually she does, she goes around asking the princes but no one told her that the princes' were also at fault) learning both sides of the story. Show me things that would make me like her personality even more. Show me instances where she's actually a kind-hearted soul. If you don't show me, all I'm left with is a girl who forces her ideals onto others without thinking how much it's hurting the other person. I don't think Emma is terrible but I wish they could add more scenes for her where she truly gets to show her potential as a kind-hearted Belle.
Tumblr media
Gilbert's route is a very neat political drama with a little bit of romance infused into it. Like I mentioned beforehand, the whole story is a chess game and Gilbert is the only one winning.
Both Gilbert and Emma's ideals are different. Gilbert, now, thinks that violence is the only means to get justice and Emma thinks talking is the only means to get justice. I don't think both are wrong. In cases like the Bloodstained Rose Day, the family of the victims needed justice because the royalty was not punished for their actions. That's why the anti-monarchy faction was developed. If Gilbert's ideals are followed, there would be Bloodstained Rose Day 2.0. If we go by Emma's ideals, it would be hard to get them to talk things through because of the gravity of the situation. It would still lead to the Bloodstained Rose Day 2.0. It was a straight up slaughter. It's a very complicated situation.
Anyways, I think Gilbert's route is truly amazing. A perfect 9.5/10. (I'm taking 0.5 points because of the cringy lines. NEVER COME SEE ME AGAIN!!)

Ranking Nico Di Angelo ships as a multishipper with a crazy imagination, a Nico hyperfixation of 3 years, and the willpower of a god:
1. Solangelo - 8/10 I love them!! I adore Will in TSATS and he’s easily one of my favorite characters. I wish Rick had let us get to know Will separately before he was immediately made Nico’s boyfriend, but I love him anyway. I think they’re good for each other and very supportive. I think I spend too much time consuming media of them than their actual book interactions, because in media I hate their fanon portrayals, but I adore them in cannon. I only had the chance to read half of TSATS, but I thought it was cute!
2. Jasico - 10/10 I love them for the same reasons I love Solangelo, but Jason got character development and Will didn’t. Also, they had a cool moment with Cupid that I think about once a week at least. Jason is constantly someone Nico trusts and (I may be wrong) hugs at some point in the series. The only people Nico has shown direct physical affection to within the series (to my knowledge) are Will, Jason, Hazel, and Reyna. This proves how much Nico trusts Jason, even after Cupid. Also they’re silly and dumb and I love them so I’m right always
3. Nico x Conner - 10/10 I FUCKING LOVE THEM SO MUCH. Lemme explain. So when Nico came to camp he stayed with the Hermes cabin, but Luke was already fucked off (I think) so Conner and Travis were probably in charge of the cabin. Conner’s age changes several times, so I headcannon him to be just a tad older than Nico. I think since he knew Nico when he was a kid he can make present day Nico less doom and gloom and know when he’s truly happy. Also, Nico went to a notably strict military school before coming to camp, yk what they say, strict conditions raise sneaky kids. Thats right, these two are fucking nuts. They are little thieves. And I don’t even wanna mention the implications of Conner’s dad (Lin Manuel Miranda) being the god of travelers and Nico essentially being an eternal traveller. They make me so sick I love them
4. Nico x Clovis - 7/10 they were mentioned as friends MAYBE once and I took that shit and ran with it tbh. I don’t even remember if it’s cannon. I just love them. I THINK it was mentioned that Clovis helps Nico with his nightmares, but atp this shit might just be my imagination or a fic I read once. Anyways, Nico is noted as a very anxious person, and Clovis is very laid back. I really like that duo and the idea that Clovis can help to ground him a lot and help him relax
5. Valdengelo - 6/10 while I do adore them, they have hardly any time together or any bonding moments at all (Note: I am a hypocrite over Clovis let’s fight abt it) I do love media about them and consume it at rates not comprehendible by mankind though. Aside from no time together, I think they’re epic. Nico experiences a lot of the same things as Leo, such as losing his mother and general sadness, but they cope in wildly different ways (neither of which are healthy). Also, Nico grew up in the lotus casino. I’m sick of us all acting like he doesn’t understand technology. Let them be engineer boyfriends PLEASE
6. Pernico. - no.
Keep in mind this is just my opinion please don’t take anything too personal!! I love all ships (almost. Lookin at you Pernico.) equally and if you have any fic recommendations for any of these please give them to me I’m desperate
(Also, this doesn’t represent my FAVORITE Nico ship, just a ranking based on how much I giggle when I see them. It does not take many logistics into account)

S/O With A Zombie Quirk
Keigo Takami/Hawks X Reader, Shota Aizawa/ Eraserhead X Reader, Taishiro Toyomitsu/ Fatgum X Reader
Requested: @supernatural-hunter1
Request: Have you seen that show on Netflix called “iZombie?” I was just watching it the other day and I was thinking what if. Hawks, Aizawa, and Fatgum who has a S/O who works as a medical examiner for the police and she helps police detectives solve cases but then Hawks, Aizawa and Fatgum found out that their S/O has a quirk called “zombie” 😂
(like the main character in the Netflix show? If you haven’t seen that show, it’s a good show you should watch it?, assault and robbery, attempted kidnap (implied but not really)
Warning:- Talk of eating brains or description, general dislike for the quirk, injuries, dead bodies, morgues
Hawks
🪶 The first time that Hawks met you it was at the beginning of a case that he had taken on, the police were getting nowhere and they needed a new angle so they called in you. 🪶 He didn’t know how you were going to help but sometimes a new medical examiner sees something that everyone else missed, however when you came in he didn’t know what to say. 🪶 You hadn’t told him that you worked with the police, in fact you didn’t talk much about your work or quirk. 🪶 When you finally used your quirk, he could see that you were nervous, he didn’t know if it was because he was there or because of what you were about to see either way he gave a firm nod as you swallowed a small section of the victims brain.
“You never told me about your quirk.” Keigo said as he handed you a cup of water. “It freaks most people out.” You answered softly as you take the drink downing it “and I don’t like it very much anyway.” “You don’t?” He asked. “Would you like eating people’s brains?” You asked “at least your quirk makes you look good.” “You think my wings make me look good?” He asked, a smirk stretching across his face as he closed the small amount of space between you. “Well I promise you that I don’t think differently of you, you didn’t get to choose your quirk and despite that you do a lot of good with it you know that right?” “Hmm.” You hummed, he leaned forward pressing a kiss to your lips. “So what else can you do?” He asked. “In times of extreme stress my strength and agility.” You shrugged “and I can take on the quirk of the person’s brain I ate for 24 hours.” “Seems pretty cool.” He mumbled softly as he sat down next to you feathers dispersing so that he could sit next to you looping his arm around your shoulder “are you okay?” “Huh?” You asked. “After what you saw, you saw her die didn’t you?” He asked. “Yeah and I’ll have to do it again for the trial.” You explained and he frowned. “What are you talking about?” He asked. “What I saw can be used as evidence now that they developed technology that can project what I see for the rest of the court.” You explained and he sighed. “There’s no other way for them to do this?” He asked. “Not at the moment.” You answered “but like you said it hurts people.” “Then I guess I’m going to have to come with you.” He decided as you leaned into his chest and sighed. “That would be nice.” You mumbled. “You're tired, get some rest, I’ll get you home.” Keigo pressed another kiss to the top of your head.
Tumblr media
Aizawa
🐛 Aizawa wasn’t one to ask about quirks or anything, he didn't think that it meant much when he was looking for a partner and that didn’t change when he found out what your quirk was. 🐛 He found out about your quirk in a pretty high stress situation, you had been out and were cornered by a couple of thugs that thought you’d be an easy mark however your quirk activated when the stress became too much. 🐛 They called Aizawa to help deal with an out of control quirk user, but when he got there and saw that it was you he ordered everyone to fall back he decided that he could do this together. 🐛 He had to admit that it wasn’t easy, you were fast and strong but the moment that he’s gaze met yours and his quirk activated, he saw you come back to yourself and gave a sigh of relief.
Aizawa moved around the front of you, to properly get a look at you when you looked up at him and mouthed the word ‘I’m sorry’ he let you go immediately, he crouched in front of you helping you stand and leading you away from the growing crowd or what he assumed to be heroes, civilians and villains. Once you were away from prying eyes he took your face looking you over “what happened?” He asked. “I’m sorry, I thought I had it under control. It's been so long since I’ve been scared like that.” You mumbled as your eyes looked anywhere but him and he drew your eyes to him and spoke softly. “What scared you?” He asked. “There were these guys who tried to grab me. I think they wanted my purse or something.” You explained and he nodded for you to continue “part of my quirk is controlled by my emotions and when I get overwhelmed my strength and agility become far better and I go into a state of survival.” “That’s part of your quirk?” He asked. “Yeah.” You answered. “What’s the other part?” He asked. “Doesn’t matter.” You mumbled looking away from him. “It’s a villain's quirk.” “Nothing is a villain’s quirk.” Aizawa said. “I can see people’s memories or use their quirks…” You said biting your lip. “That’s not-” “I can only do it if I eat part of their brain.” You said like you were ripping a bandaid off and he almost winced when the tone hit his voice, he hated that you hated your quirk so much “it’s done good, helps with investigations and stuff but it got me no end of bullying back in school.” “We’re not in school anymore and I’m nothing like those kids, I’m not going to run away from you.” He promised “we are going to have to work on this stress response though, me and you, we’ll work through it.”
Tumblr media
Fatgum
🍡 Tai had been with you for a little while before he found out what your quirk was, you never talked about it and he never asked, all he knew was that it had something to do with eating. 🍡 He never thought much of it. He wasn't dating you for your quirk after all, your personality was what made him fall in love with you and he was sure that no matter what it would keep him there. 🍡 Tai always reassured you that he didn’t need to know what your quirk was and he’d be fine never knowing as long as you were alive and happy. 🍡 However one day the league of villains came for you and your quirk, he got to you first but it caused you both to become trapped in the morgue that you worked in.
You took a deep breath as you looked around the room, there was nothing that you could use to get out of there, Tai was a good hero but he wasn’t about the fight them in the state that he was, having fought his way to you, he was injured, you grabbed everything that you needed to patch him up. “It’s okay Tai, I’m sorry, I can fix this.” You mumbled as you wrapped the wound tightly “there must be people out there by now with the way Dabi has been lighting the place up.” “I- I had Suneater and Red Riot get reinforcements.” He informed you. “They probably won’t storm in with us still in here though.” You mumbled, there was no second exit for the morgue, you had to go through the rest of the building to get out. You eye fell on the pile of files on your table, all the bodies in the morgue, you snuck over to the table grabbing the files and spreading them out on the floor. “What are you doing?” Tai asked as you looked at him and steeled yourself. “I’m going to use my quirk to get us out of here, if someone in here has a quirk that can help us.” You mumbled as you looked through each of the files until you came across the file of a male that had a teleportation quirk “perfect.” “Hey, you listening to me?” Tai asked and you looked at him and frowned. By now he had lost the mass that came with his quirk, it wound was weakening him and you could hear the villains getting closer to the barricaded room. “You don’t have to do this, we can find some other way to get out of here.” “This is the quickest way to get out of here, I have to get you somewhere that they can help you.” You mumbled as you pressed a kiss to his forehead before standing and walking over to the draw allocated to the man that you were looking for, you had already done his autopsy, he was a more simple case and there was no need for you take from his brain however per normal protocol you had already made the cut into his head so it was easy enough to get to the brain taking small piece and eating not daring to look at Tai as you did, making your way back over to him, pressing your forehead to his and wrapping an arm around him using the quirk to get out, you appeared in front of the ambulances that had been parked outside, Suneater and Red Riot noticing the suit of their mentor in seconds as you allowed them to take him to the hospital for treatment.
You didn’t go and see Tai in the hospital, he was only there for a couple of days and you were happy to see that he was getting better. What you hadn’t expected was for him to show up at your apartment. “What are you doing here?” You asked after opening the door. “Wondered how you were doing… Since I can’t go back to work yet, I decided to make sure that you were okay…” He explained looking you over. “I can see that you are okay, so are you going to tell me why you didn’t come visit me.” “People don’t usually want to see me after they find out what my quirk is.” You explained. “You thought I didn’t want to see you?” He asked. “Mmm.” You hummed. “Darling I wanted nothing more than to see you.” He sighed as he stepped forward pulling you into a hug, even in his smaller form it felt like he dwarfed you considering his 6ft stature. He could feel you crying and he sighed as he pulled you closer still “I don’t care about your quirk and it really doesn’t matter to me, you are who I fell in love with, not your quirk or the idea of what you quirk could be, it was you.” “I should have told you.” You mumbled. “I would have been happy even if you never told me.” He mumbled. “Come on I missed you, let's go cuddle and sleep the day away, yeah?” “That sounds nice.” You mumbled allowing him to lead you further into the apartment for a day of rest together.

hiii! Thank you so much ! gonna take this opportunity to talk about my favorite little guys ever… the bees!
Tumblr media
Did you know that bees are sentient? They’re emotional little guys, and we discovered that fairly recently because their brains are so small they needed sophisticated technology to be studied.
people fear bees because they’re aggressive sometimes, but aggression is just an emotion right? They can be relaxed enough you can pet them, they can be sad or stressed or happy ..etc they’re capable of problem solving, math, thinking, and feeling. They can recognize and remember faces. Some bees are social some are not. They can feel an array of emotions and even sometimes develop disorders like PTSD.
Okay, so, bit by bit. A thing that fascinates me about bees is swarming, or relocate, when a honeybee colony leaves the hive and intends to relocate,. They send a select number of scout bees to go inspect potential places. If a scout bee likes a spot she comes back and performs a wiggle dance that can communicate the location of the spot. Another group or bees goes to inspect the spot and if they like it they come back to dance, and so on until they all agree on a spot. It’s basically a democracy which is just very cool.
Tumblr media
Another way bees are interesting is that they can dream as I mentioned above. This was discovered because scientists noticed they’d move their antennas the same way they would when they’re flying or communicating, isn’t that cute? ( btw, did you know scientists can develop ptsd from studying bees because they get attached to them? )
Recently, in the bee world, there has been a problem called Colony Collapse Disorder. This is connected to the threat of extinction the bees are facing as it indicates how an entire honeybee colony can die in one season :( Mainly, we suspect pesticides to be the cause of this, but scientists argue that their emotional states could have played a role. It’s suspected that Industrialized agriculture causes so much psychological stress and thus…
They’re just really neat complex little creatures. I love them
have a nice day/night/whenever! And thank you !

I just watched Blue Beetle and as much as I enjoyed it, I can’t say I’m not also a little disappointed.
Like it had all these fantastic elements! It had wonderful dynamic characters, and a very well established sympathetic secondary antagonist cast against a completely detestable primary antagonist, and a fun aesthetic, and cool technology, and great humor—I mean I watched it with my dad and brother and there wasn’t a single joke that didn’t make at least one of us laugh.
But it felt like all these stupendous pieces had been stuck together with duct tape and chewing gum instead of being stitched together properly and fully integrated with each other to create a cohesive story.
(spoilers under the cut)
I never advocate for movies to be longer because I’m not great at sitting still—but this is one movie that really could have used an extra ten minutes or so, just to slow down for proper scene transitions and to let people actually process the story aspects rather than just the characters.
I don’t want to knock its emphasis on family either, because it was not a bad thing by any means (I loved the family dynamic and it felt very organic and realistic), but it was sometimes redundant to the detriment of other necessary elements of the story.
Like the scarab, you know, the catalyst for the entire film?
It got treated as an object even after they learned it was sentient, and then largely ignored unless it needed to say or do something to progress the plot. They said it was sentient and then didn’t give it a personality. Even Jarvis had a personality in the Iron Man movies and he was just a computer program, not a sentient AI.
The only time I felt like the scarab was being treated as an actual character as it should have been instead of as an accessory was when Jaime’s mom pulled him aside and addressed it specifically when she gave them both her motherly pep talk, and then the callback to that pep talk during the subsequent fight scene, and I absolutely adored that moment, I just wish it wasn’t the only one.
They told us repeatedly that Jaime and Khaji Da were integrated and their respective minds were connected, but they didn’t really show that. They didn’t really address it at all outside of the way they fight together. Like these two characters are literally irreversibly fused together but somehow they never got an actual relationship dynamic.
Khaji Da immediately agrees when Jaime makes his no killing rule clear, despite obviously disagreeing before that point. It responds instantly when he asks for specific weapons. In fact, after the initial booting-up sequence, when it dragged Jaime around without consideration, it almost never disagrees with Jaime or exerts its own will at all, despite it being supposedly sentient.
It doesn’t even get a proper introduction. Jaime just starts calling it by name unprompted and that gets completely glossed over. They don’t even use it to further establish how their mental connection works.
The plot just skips over the inconveniences of a symbiotic relationship to jump into the action.
Also, any information we get about Kord or Khaji Da is rushed and simplified and then immediately gets tread on by the character development scenes. And I’m a sucker for good character development, which this movie has a lot of and which I loved, but you can’t throw necessary exposition and worldbuilding under the bus for it. A good movie and a good story needs both, and this one just wasn’t quite balanced right.
All in all, I definitely liked it, but I’m frustrated but the potential that was so agonizingly visible but that it didn’t quite live up to.

With the next episode about to have some good old angst and us having a better idea of what the title refers to, I wanna take a moment to focus on Satoshi. It's really interesting to me that the next episode title ,"Pokémon! I'm glad I met you!", is voiced by him, especially now that we know the focus of the episode and that he's definitely gonna continue being in the series (and if you wanna believe certain leaks, so will Gou). In other words, while the title certainly also refers to him, Koharu and Gou reminiscing about their adventures with Pokémon, the main focus is definitely about Gou wanting to go on a journey, but he assumes Satoshi will tell him to go ahead because that's just the way his supportive friend is. Because he thinks he's not as important to Satoshi as Satoshi is to him, probably.
And this title, being spoken by Satoshi, is meant to tell us already that that's not true. And it's been shown throughout the series already, even if Satoshi seems to be less open about how much he likes Gou specifically. That's what I want to talk about in this post as a refresher of sorts for next Friday, so sorry for the long introduction lol.
First things first, their meeting on Lugia of course. They had a lot of staring at each other in that episode, but for Satoshi especially I think that moment on the flower field, when Gou talks about wanting to see the world and all sorts of Pokémon, is important. You'll notice in that moment he sits up and his desire to show that world to Gou has sparked. He realised that this boy shared this big desire with him. And while at that moment they're nowhere near close friends, their mutual interest in each other is definitely there. And interest is something Satoshi keeps for Gou, like in the following episode, after they had their little fight, when Satoshi closes in curiously because Gou knows much better how to use technology than him, even if it's just knowing how to ask your phone stuff to actually get a useful answer about a construction site.
Then in further episodes, we again and again have Satoshi eager to show cool things to Gou. Be it experiencing battles in the Flute Cup episode, how to catch Pokémon in that first catching ep or meeting his family and Alolan Pokémon later on. Satoshi had been a mentor showing newbies how to do stuff before, namely when May and Dawn started out back then. But unlike with them, their relationship starts on mutual grounds. Satoshi doesn't see himself as above him, he's more like just a kid wanting to show someone all kinds of cool things they know to get closer to them. If you remember your own friend-making process back in elementary, you'd tend to try to impress each other and show each other really mundane stuff (ex. Satoshi showing Gou how he eats his food on the train in the Scorbunny catch ep because he thinks it's tastier that way). You're equally eager to try out the things the other shows you (ex. in the same scene Gou shows him that ripping the bread with your hands first is easier and Satoshi tries it out right away). I think that's something that makes them especially cute together in the beginning, because the anime did a great job at portraying two young boys getting to know each other and becoming close friends. That's probably my favourite part of the ship too, because it just feels so real, like you're watching their relationship develop in real time.
In the first Alola episode I think we see for the first time how Gou misinterprets how Satoshi feels towards him. And I can't even blame him with his low self esteem and all, but still. He tells Kaki that Satoshi has no interest in supporting him, that dreams are something you reach on your own. Satoshi doesn't correct him, but we see his expression and we saw even to that point that that's not true. He DID support Gou as much as he could and Gou supported him in return even. And they're not stopping anytime soon.
Later in the Mewtwo episode, when Gou talks about how the future lies in his hands, Satoshi joins in and says "OUR hands, right?". That's huge, because he openly says he wants to share a future with Gou. I don't think he's ever even been that invested in another person. And that's not just super gay gay homo gay, but also already gives an answer for the upcoming episode. Beneath his supportiveness of letting his friend go when he wants to go, because Satoshi is just like that, his true wish is to be with Gou. During the Darkest Day arc, when they're separate and he's in that hotel room and says "I wish Gou was here right now", you see it again. He might not voice it to Gou himself - and that's kinda his mistake - but he absolutely loves being with him and wants to stay together with him.
Much much later, right before his battle with Dande, when Gou has to leave on short notice and won't see the battle, you see the disappointment all over Satoshi's face. But again, he is a supportive person, especially for someone he really cares about. Even though it hurts him, he doesn't want to stand in the way of Gou's dream and lets him go without complaints. Same with previous Project Mew missions btw, where Satoshi sees it as obvious to tag alongside Gou, no matter if he actually helps or not. You see his disappointment again, the one time where Asahi doesn't let him join during the battle royale (good idea lol Satoshi would obliterate everyone there) and especially the one time Gou says he wants to go on the Regi mission alone.
Letting someone go despite wanting to be with them 24/7 is probably the greatest sign of love. Satoshi loves Gou so much, he puts his desires over his own. What he doesn't realise is that due to his lack of resistance (much unlike Gou's reaction when Satoshi stood him up to hang out with Dande lol), Gou misinterprets it as Satoshi not valuing him as much.
In other words, tomorrow's episode had a lot of buildup. It was bound to happen sooner or later if the writers were to stick with the narrative they built. And they did, so I need this moment to point out how much I love that. I think anipoke is oftentimes... far away from the pinnacle of writing lol because it's bound so much to marketing and quantity that the storytelling really suffers from it. But now with Satogou's relationship, they absolutely took advantage of those boundaries and I'm all here for that.
Long story short: We know Gou really, reeeaally likes Satoshi, that's clear as day. It got proven in last Friday's episode AGAIN when he thinks about smiling for Satoshi and then confronts Mew, thanking it for letting him meet him among things and directly referencing all the way back to his gay awakening™ in the Ivysaur episode.
Because Gou's case is so glaringly obvious, Satoshi's feelings for him are kinda overshadowed, both for Gou and the audience. And if that was on purpose it worked really well, because I've seen a lot of people think Satoshi will definitely let Gou go like he did with previous companions. But we know he had a hard time parting ways with previous companions too, so I think this episode will absolutely subvert our expectations when Satoshi, for the first time, will be open about how he feels and ask his buddy to stay with him. And Gou will be just as dumbfounded by that reaction as the audience.
Thanks for reading my Satogou essay once again gjcjxvxv 💕

Love that you read The Risen Empire too. Finished it this winter, and its just so good. Not just how creative and real feeling the world and technology is, the characters. Oh my god the characters!
Rana/h_rd is OTP. It is as if they're specifically written for me, butch cyborg super soldier/mentally ill insecure bi mess, and its enemies to lovers, and captor/captive, damn yeah! Also so interesting how many hints for Special Tallys development are there in h_rds arc already.
Nara/Laurent also is the very rare example of an m/f ship that not just actually feels in character and isn't sexist, but even made me invested in them. The tenderness, and the respect, despite them being in different political factions at the beginning. And I love how Laurents disability is handled (and Naras, even if I am not sure if you can call that a disability, but damn, did I relate to her symptoms as an mentally ill autistic person. And Ranas disability!)
I am so obsessed with these characters and I drew so much fanart for them, and even wrote some small fics
It's one of my favorite books! In the wider context of scifi it's not very ambitious but every piece of the worldbuilding and every character in it is so cool, and I love what it has to say about politics and, yes, about the variety of disability and how it informs how you live in the world. Rana's brand of autism was the one that felt most like a distorted mirror to me, but I understand how compelling Nara's symptoms are for sure. She's such an interesting character and the book has so many good scenes where she gets to be badass or venerable about it and she's really treated so well with the narrative.
In general, I get it, it just had so many hyperspecific yet compelling elements that it feels like westerfeld is basically reading your mind and writing a book about it. I think I can link most of my hyperfixations to this book. It's scifi. It has cyborgs. It has a sentient house that grows itself! It has a mind blowing torture scene! Man, Laurent's torture scene is still the most chilling thing I've ever read. Everything else I seek I'm trying to reproduce the feeling of reading it.
Anyway, I want to see all the fanarts and fanfics you have btw. Link them to me any way you want but I want to see it all

I'm 34 and going through an experience lately that is really making a part of "old people dinosaur brain" click into place for me.
I've been playing the mmo GuildWars2 for ten years and I've spent much of that time striving to Get Good. I didn't have any experience with competitive gaming, and it's taken an embarrassment of hours to develop the knowledge and skills needed to reach competency similar to, though not as impressive as my early role models. There's still a high ceiling I haven't hit, but feeling strong in any moment is wonderful. There's a feeling of safety and satisfaction knowing my time and effort has been transmuted into control, comfort, and clout. I have Grown. I have Progressed. Line goes up.
The problem is it took me so long to get here, the game that existed around those things I admired has changed so much, my ideas of what's cool are no longer even really viable in terms of what's "good". All the knowledge I had of the old metagames and the 'best' strategies is firmly locked in my memory, but I return to old content and it wouldn't even make sense to do things that way anymore. I observed, practiced, memorized and became proficient with tools that now only really have value as historical preservation (Grandpa, tell me the story of los in dungeons and wvw meteornado?). This is followed by the second blow, which is to be "good" again means frequently needing to start from scratch, or at least from that awkward baby-deer-learning-to-walk, child-learning-to-hold-a-pencil stage with different tools. Years of time and thousands of hours no longer feel as disposable once you've burned through a few cycles. It gets tiring starting over. You miss being Good. I am beginning to understand the people who reject everything but their tiny version of the world, because to connect with reality would be to realize they've already slipped off the globe.
I've been given this preview of what the rest of my life will increasingly become. Acknowledging that things I've valued and carried for years can no longer accomplish what they were meant to and I have to set them down. Having empty hands for a while as I try to figure out what works now, and how to use it. I feel like people don't often talk openly, at least sympathetically, about a person's mental library of knowledge, physical coordination, even social grace falling from standard to outdated to obsolete. There are skills that have remained valuable for most of human history and cover a lifetime. Unconditional love. How to bake bread. But as technology and global communication increase the rate of societal change, shifts that would have taken decades now cycle within years. Condescending jokes about our parents and grandparents not keeping up are standard. But once we get there, how fast is everything going to be moving? How long will the gap be between cycles so we can catch up? And how much energy will we have to keep starting over? We must adapt to survive and I realize now how important it is to become able to adapt. This is my new skill to hone, but my god, what an ask! "Isn't this way too much to be extrapolating from your specific video game experience?" my mental critic asks. And I respond, "I have ADD. I abstract and combine things. I don't know. I'm valid! Get off my lawn!"

Signalis - post mortem (SPOILERS)
Tumblr media
What a cool game...
I had a really good time with Signalis. Everything from the presentation and the reimagined combat system, to the surrealist story and clever puzzles, Signalis is certainly one of the most innovative gaming experiences of the year. And though I haven't played everything, from what I've seen/read about, Signalis brings a deep breath of fresh air when compared to other new releases this year!
I obviously enjoyed my time with this game, but I wanted to share a few things that really set it apart in ways that aren't as specific to me.
Level Design/Gameplay Cohesion:
My enthusiasm for Signalis is found in one main accomplishment. I love that the design really makes you feel and understand the way the Elster feels. Somehow, we feel their determination, fear, and even the desire to leave as they feel those things. When you are discovering an area for the first time, the enemies are scary and the level is unpredictable, but when you are solving a puzzle, the game somehow, subtly shifts into feeling like you are in control of that same area as you go to collect items and read notes. Then, as you travel through the depths of horror to save Elster's most treasured person, you feel that need to keep pressing on to find out more, despite your surroundings. This may be a "standard" to survival horror games, but it is so well done here it is hard to imagine any other game having as much success. It may seem silly but I really feel like this simple core element is enough for me to recommend Signalis to people as a must play.
Impeccable Vibe-age:
Another thing that stands out in this game is the world and art within it. The setting Signalis takes place in is not simple in any way at all. I was blown away when I started reading more and more into the lore of this game and how deep each subplot goes. There are many elements to the story and they take off in different directions starting as soon as you finish the prologue. However, the excellent art direction and visual designs end up being the glue that holds the whole game together with each aesthetic decision serving many purposes in the overarching story.
One example of this is something I actually read on TV tropes. The beautifully bleak 90s tech aesthetic that permeates the work station in Signalis is not only used to invoke the classic dystopian sci-fi/cyberpunk/outrun touchpoints we have outside of the game, but it is also used to show the nation of Eusan's hyperfocus on one subsection of technology. The story points out that the development of Replikas and use of bioresonance was the sole focus of Eusan, to the point of practically erasing other parts of tech from the picture.
The way that Rose-Engine is able to craft such an interesting story while supporting it with more than just notes and journal entries is another perfect reason to recommend Signalis to anyone.
Game Feel:
This has been stated many times already so I will keep it brief. The "pick-up-and-play-ability" of this game is truly the best modernization you can ask for in the world of PS1 inspired survival horror games. I know that this is everyone's complaint since the beginning of time, but games need to be fun to play for me to enjoy them. Signalis is most definitely fun to play.
Final thoughts:
With that I just wanted to say thank you for reading and thanks to Rose-Engine for making such an awesome experience. If you had any thoughts about the game, please share them below so we can share this game together!
-VictoryChest
P.S. The art above is by yours truly.

How Cory Doctorow uses browser tabs for productivity superpowers
Cory defends lifehacking, which “is in pretty bad odor these days, and with good reason: a once-useful catch-all for describing how to make things easier has become a pit of productivity porn, grifter hustling, and anodyne advice wreathed in superlatives and transformed into SEO-compliant listicles.” But at its core, lifehacking is just a collection of little tricks that help people be more productive.
He links to his notes from a 2004 talk by Danny O’Brien: “Life Hacks: Tech Secrets of Overprolific Alpha Geeks”.
O’Brien’s inspiration was his social circle, in which people he knew to be no smarter or better or motivated than anyone else in that group were somehow able to do much more than their peers, in some specific domain. O’Brien delved deeply into these peoples' lives and discovered that each of them had merely (“merely!") gotten very good at using one or two tools to automate things that would otherwise take up a lot of their time.
These “hacks” freed up their practitioners to focus on things that mattered more to them.
… everyone who created a little hack was faintly embarrassed by it, and assumed that others who learned about their tricks would find them trivial or foolish. O’Brien changed the world by showing that other people were, in fact, delighted and excited to learn about their peers' cool little tricks.
(Unfortunately, this eventually opened the floodgates of overheated posts about some miraculous hack that turned out to indeed be silly and trivial or even actively bad, but that wasn’t O’Brien’s fault!)
Cory notes that he is a pretty productive fellow himself, having written nine books during lockdown. And he shares a couple of his little tricks.
One of them is having “a group of daily tabs that I open in a new browser every morning. The meat of this tab group is websites I want to check in with every day, either because they don’t have RSS feeds, or because I want to make sure I never miss an update.”
These include news and opinion websites, Wikipedia pages whose edits he is watching, and also personal finance and ecommerce sites.
I do something similar: I have three folders of tabs: One I open multiple times daily, another that I also open multiple times daily, but less often than the first group, and a third that I open 1x/day. I call them, imaginatively enough, “First,” “Second” and “Daily.” The first group is social media replies, the second group is social media streams, and the third group has more social streams, Discord channels and one or two blogs that have lousy or nonexistent RSS feeds.
Tabs, like lifehacks, are also in bad odor. Everyone stresses about how many tabs they have open…. But this is a very different way to think about tabs. Rather than opening a window full of tabs that need your detailed, once-off attention later, this method is about using groups of tabs so that you can pay cursory, frequent attention to them.
I find RSS, newsletters and daily tab groups do the same job, enable me to check on a couple of hundred websites daily in very little time. I currently use the NewsBlur RSS reader, which is also a great place to read newsletters. (If you don’t like NewsBlur, my friend Barbara Krasnoff writes up five good RSS readers.)
Also:
My little tab habit is so incredibly useful, such a powerful way to seize back time and power from powerful actors who impose burdens on me, that I sometimes forget how, for other people, tabs are a symptom of a life that’s spiraling out of control. For me, a couple hundred tabs are a symbol of a couple hundred tasks that I’m totally on top of, a symbol of control wrestled back from others who are hostile to my interests.
Cory talks about how tabs are an example of “generative” technology—innovations that users implement in ways that were unanticipated by people who developed technology.
It occurs to me that a reason I love the Obsidian documents app is that it’s an example of “generative” technology. I use Obsidian in weird ways that don’t seem to be the designers’ intent, but it works well for me—and I think that actually is part of the designers’ intent.

As much as I hate to say it I wish Ana didnt mute Clovis because for once I was actually interested in what he was about to say.
I feel like there's an untapped well of using Clovis for golden age world building/explaining how some of the magic stuff works in a more "normal way" that Bungie isn't tapping into
Honestly yeah, in a way it would've been cool to hear alternative explanations, especially for things that obviously have roots in the real world. But it is important to remember that, despite everything, Destiny also functions on magic. No matter how many real phenomena are explored and referenced, at the end of the day, there is paracausality, which primarily allowed for all development in the Golden Age, so a piece of magic will always be involved.
I think that Clovis refusing to accept it is a part of why he's the way he is. His refusal to accept it is what led him to vastly underestimating the powers of Darkness (aka Clarity) and the Traveler. It led to all the issues and horrible mistakes in his manufacture and production of Exos. Clovis wants to boil everything down to simple and fully understandable terms that he can control and refuses to realise that there are things beyond him that he doesn't understand and never will.
He was very dismissive of the Vex, who are a species from the dawn of the universe. Clovis views them as nothing more than fuel for his own purpose and he would surely have things to say about stuff like Vault of Glass or the Infinite Forest. But no matter how much he thinks he understands, there will always be an aspect of them that he does not. He is the same with the Hive.
However, it's important to note that the term "magic" is relative. The Hive's grasp on manipulating the fundamental forces of physics is likely so beyond what we understand that their "rituals" with "crystals" are incomprehensible to us. The fact that the Hive themselves are presenting it as magic doesn't help either; we can only evaluate what we see and we see what to us looks like... well, a wizard doing an arcane ritual.
Clovis is largely correct in trying to understand the underlying physics behind it. Because there must be a foundation in physics, which there is. However, Clovis also must understand that there is always going to be something beyond simply physics, something that he will not understand and won't be able to control. That's the point where he becomes unbearable; he is dismissing any notion that there are people doing things outside of his knowledge and control.
I wanted to mention what he said in his little speech before Ana muted him because it piqued my interest when he said:
Crystals, rituals... [scoffs] This is absurd. That's obviously an emitted Casimir field with—
This is far beyond my regular understanding of things but luckily there are people in the fandom with a better grasp on it. Really good analysis of it with simplified explanations here. In short, Casimir Effect is a real phenomenon! Clovis is not speaking entirely out of his ass and this little detail is very helpful for overall understanding of what's going on.
I think Bungie deliberately won't ever go further. If they do, then they would have to scrap space magic and space magic is fundamental to the setting, even when there are real explanations buried somewhere beneath. Like this, they give us a glimpse which allows us to piece things together, but it also leaves an air of mystery to it which is necessary for the setting to truly feel like Destiny.
Clovis is a really good example for stuff that has basis in reality because he is fully grounded and relies only on that, but ignores all other aspects outright. The Hive definitely possess some vastly powerful technology that allows them to utilise this effect on a quantum level, but they also have paracausal powers which Clovis ignores. In all likelihood, the in-setting scholars probably know that the Hive are utilising this effect. The problem is that the Hive are also utilising powers, technology and methods specific to them and have been doing so for hundreds of millions of years.
It would be cool to sit down with some Hive and talk to them about physics though! Not that Clovis would stoop so low, but someone else might. Perhaps one day (this is me pspspsing Savathun).

Hi! Hope you're having a good day/night! I'd like to ask for HCs (or whatever format you're cool with!) for Casimir, maybe something just like how he would spend the day with MC when they're not working on the House?
Romantic is fine! I hope that's not too vague of a request! Thanks! :)
A/N - Hey, I’m so sorry for the wait I finished this weeks ago but forgot about it I’m sorry ;-; hope you enjoy! (Also thank you really much for being my first Tumblr request)
(I’ll fix the format of this post when I have my laptop later today)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fandom: Fictif, Monster Manor
Format: headcanons
Type: Fluff, a bit comedy
Warnings: none I can think of
Summary: spending time with Casimir
Relationship: Casimir x Reader (Written as romantic but save for like one all work platonically)
Characters featured: Casimir, briefly Mimi and the house, Rainier mentioned
Note: maybe OOC, some of these are kind of far fetched (Also I didn't read any of the paid scenes so I’m sorry if I got something canon wrong)
Renovating is pretty exhausting so of course a lot of work means a lot of rest. There's many ways to do so such as sitting down with some tea and snacks, reading together or to each other, cuddling or watching movies; either way you spend this time together quite often
speaking of movies, movie and show nights! At first at least there might be more of Casimir nerding over the technology than watching though /hj. Someone just please show this man the Beauty and the Beast. Or Transformers. First one is self explanatory, second one I just think would be funny. Also maybe Howls moving castle. That might be super far fetched but I think he'd like studio Ghibli.
Bonding with Mimi! Casimir really wants to gain back her trust and having you be there calms him Mimi. Though it's better than it used to be already there's still some tension between them and you're definitely helping. You also get to spend time with both of them so that's definitely a win!
You cannot convince me this man doesn't go into hour long rants and rambles about his interests after you asked one simple question. He can get pretty lost in it once he started and tends to get a little embarrassed about it once he realises. Cmon, he was all by himself for multiple centuries, he's not used to people being around. You encouraging him to go on, asking questions or referencing things he told you later on means a lot to him.
Of course it goes both ways, he absolutely loves listening to you talk, especially about things you're passionate about and will try to bring it up again later or engage in your hobbies with you together. He genuinely wants to know about you and your interests, for one he hasn't really heard from/about anyone else for a very long time (not counting cats and buildings) and also you're, of course he wants to hear everything you have to say
Okay okay okay this one's my personal favourite: hide and seek. I actually might write a whole own thing about that at some point soon because it'd just be so much fun! The house is quite big with super many hiding spaces. Now it's not something he'd suggest and yeah it might take some force persuasion to convince him but if you ask him really really nicely hell probably say yes, or just annoy him till he agrees (even more effective if Rainier joins). Alternatively just hide somewhere so he has no choice but to search (you definitely gave him a heart attack the first time you did that)
Casimir is old fashioned (I mean- how wouldn't he be) so your regular date nights are pretty classic. Usually it's a romantic dinner (brought to you by The House TM), sometimes it's dancing (like that one paid scene(? Is there one? Or am I mixing something up? Idk); he was taught to be a gentleman and he's gonna use that /hj
Bringing him modern things from shopping trips. It started off by you bringing him something he was curious about after you mentioned it and quickly developed into a habit of you bringing him trinkets whenever you're out. His curiosity makes you much more aware of how interesting even little thins can be and soon turned to you coming back from trips out the house with a bag of things like toys, gadgets and other fun things from the dollar store or similar. You then spend the day looking at what you brought, how it works and so on. Imagine spending the day with Casimir trying out a bunch of toys you bought or found with your old stuff (the type for children, don't think wrong here)
adding onto this because I love the idea of doing fun childish things with him (you'd have to be the one to initiate them though, potentially ‘force’ him, but he secretly enjoys it). Silly sleepovers with pillow forts, movies, teeny magazines (I want to just hand this guy a stack of these teen magazines and see what happens so bad), and snacks!
related a bit to the one above but spa days! He definitely needs some more self care. I do kinda think he likes stuff as skincare and and used to have a routine (nobility and stuff) he likely had to cut short or even drop it completely with the house's hostility. But now you're there and not only are there so many products your world has for this, it's also much more fun together, leading to entire days planned only for spa and wellness activities (like doing each other's nails, I have a little theory connected to Casimir and acrylic nails but that's all I'm saying on that)
I feel like I have to say something to end this smoothly sooo Casimir supremacy!!
bonezzz my ffriend!!! i'm struggling to tell which of the oc asks you haven't answered for nathan yet, so could u pick the ones you're burning to answer and answer them for me? :D (also good luck with your shift!!! i hope it goes well)
nathan asks!
🚗 CAR — does your oc have a driver's license? can they drive/operate any automobiles/machinery besides cars?
nathan has a driver's license and he is very good at driving too! but also he is insane on the road and he has very little to live for so if you cut him off in traffic or bother him in any way he can and will kill you both. he will get in a car crash just to prove a point if his buttons have been pushed too much
he's technically also forklift certified since he had to do the training to be allowed to work in mobius' warehouses :]
📚 BOOKS — what level of education has your oc most recently completed/is currently in (GED, undergraduate, grad school, phd, etc)?
nathan dropped out of high school after killing his parents at age 16 and was dragged into mobius instead, leaving him without a high school diploma. this however doesn't mean much since he did continue learning and teaching himself many things after dropping out, including many coding languages, and a lot more math, science, physics, and biology. all of this was necessary for him to eventually become lead developer of mobius' improved STEM device
🐈 CAT — does your oc prefer a wide circle of friends or a few close friends?
for the longest time, nathan didn't really think he had any friends, not seeing himself as worthy enough and thinking people generally disliked him. nowadays he's a lot more aware that people do in fact like him and his company and he's allowing people in more, but still prefers to have only a select few friends; he needs to be able to trust people which is very difficult for him to begin with, so warming up to others takes very long for him and to be able to call someone his friend is a very very big step for him
💚 GREEN HEART — does your oc prefer being inside or outside?
nathan generally prefers being inside but specifically just his apartment. the outside world is often too overwhelming for him and he hates having to expose himself to it; but at the same time he really likes being out with friends, visiting their places, going out for food, hanging out in the park, etc etc. it's difficult for him to push himself far enough to do all those things, but he generally feels a lot better having done that than staying at home all day
💙 BLUE HEART — does your oc have any cool/special powers and/or abilities? how are they with magic, if it exists in their world?
so as established in the games, certain individuals are able to control and manipulate the environment within a STEM environment (if you're not familar with the games it's essentially a sort of dream-like experience with minds of people linked together; a multiplayer dream within someone's mind if you will). it's essentially corruption of the technology allowing these people to gain special powers; but it doesn't happen to everyone, since the natural erosion process of the mind mostly just turns people into zombie-like creatures in there
nathan is one of the people to get special abilities from it however, but he is VERY good at masking it and generally doesn't use these powers because he doesn't want to let himself turn into a monster like what STEM did to ruvik, or stefano, or theodore, or myra. if he WERE to use his powers more however, they would mostly give him super strength and the ability to teleport forward in short bursts. he wouldn't turn into some sort of super monster like how myra turns into the matriarch in tew2 (google it, the design is AMAZING) but instead would remain very close to how he is in combat when he IS in control of himself, but he's just a lot more insane about it, which is very close to his fear of himself becoming a mindless killing machine in real life as well because of spiraling too much
